A FORM OF GENIUS

"Beauty is a form of genius--is higher, indeed, than genius, as it needs no explanation."

THE WEALTH OF INDIA

During recent years I have granted myself the right and privilege to read many of the great books of Western and Eastern philosophy and spirituality.Ìý One of the very best was written by Paramahansa YoganandaÌý (January 5, 1893Ìýâ€ March 7, 1952).ÌýÌý Although poor in material resources, India is filled with "Skyscrapers of Spiritual Wisdom".Ìý These are two of the living saints, who, when incarnated as human beings, possessed the spiritual ability to transcend death, heal the sick, travel without bodies, read the innermost minds of others, and to Love Unconditionally.Ìý This photograph is of two of the Greatest Gifts that India has given to Humankind.Ìý The poem that follows is from the bookÌý by Paramhansa Yogananda.Ìý ( )Ìý If you have not given yourself the profound pleasure of enjoying this book yet, I sincerely encourage you to do so.Ìý -- LRS

Samadhi

Raised the veils of light and shade,

Evaporated whole fog of sadness,

Sailed away around the dawn of transient joy

Faded blurred mirage of the senses.

Love, hate, health, disease, life, death:

Became extinct these false shadows on the screen of duality.

The storm of maya stilled

With the magic wand of intuition deep.

Present, past, future, no longer exist for me

I only everlasting, onifluente, I, everywhere.

Planets, stars, constellations of dust, dirt,

Volcanic eruptions of doomsday cataclysms,

The normalizing furnace of creation,

Glaciers of silent x-rays, burning electron floods,

Thoughts of all men, past tenses, present, Futures,

Every blade of grass, myself, mankind,

Each particle of dust universal

Anger, greed, good, bad, salvation, lust,

All assimilated, all transmuted

In the vast ocean of blood of my own Being undivided.

Rejoicing in embers, often fanned by meditation,

Blinding my eyes teary,

Burst into flames of immortal bliss,

Consumed my tears, my limits, my all.

Thou art I, I am Thou

The Knowing, the Knower, the Known, unified!

Palpitation quiet, uninterrupted peace ever new

Eternally alive.

Treat all expectations transcendent imagination,

Beatitude of samadhi!

Neither unconscious state,

Neither mental chloroform without the voluntary,

Samadhi extends my conscious realm

Beyond the limits of my mortal frame

Even the farthest boundary of eternity

Where I, the Cosmic Sea,

I watch the little ego floating in Me

We hear, of atoms, murmurs furniture;

The dark earth, mountains, valleys are liquid melt!

Mares fluids are converted into fuzzy vapor!

Aum blows upon vapors, revealing wonders.

Further,

Oceans unfold revealed, shining electrons,

Until the last sound of the drum cosmic

Transfuse the lights eternal rays in the densest

Of bliss that seeps into everything.

From joy I came, for joy I live, in sacred joy

Dissolvo me.

Ocean of mind, I drink all creation's waves.

Four veils of solid, liquid, gas, and bright

Raised.

I, at all, penetrate the Great I.

Extinguished forever the faltering, flickering shadows,

Memories of mortals:

Immaculate is my mental sky - below, above and well ahead;

Eternity and I, one united ray.

Tiny bubble of laughter, I,

I became the very Sea of Joy.

THE PATHLESS LAND

"I maintain that Truth is a pathless land, and you cannot approach it by any path whatsoever, by any religion, by any sect."

-- Jiddu Krishnamurti --

Jiddu Krishnamurti (May 12, 1895 February 17, 1986) was an Indian speaker and writer on philosophical and spiritual subjects, and was widely considered as a World Teacher. His subject matter included: psychological revolution, the nature of mind, meditation, inquiry, human relationships, and bringing about radical change in society. He constantly stressed the need for a revolution in the psyche of every human being and emphasized that such revolution cannot be brought about by any external entity, be it religious, political, or social.

EARTH: FROM THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN

This truly marvelous film gives us, the inhabitants of one tiny planet, lost among a nearly infinite number of planets in this physical universe, an extraordinary view of Earth from the outside looking in!Ìý The basis of all of human stupidity and superstition revolves around the idea that WE ARE THE CENTER of the universe!Ìý When we watch this simple film of the Earth from the OUTSIDE looking down, how can our myopic delusions of grandeur not be expelled once and for all?Ìý It becomes immediately obvious that we, as physical universe organisms, inhabiting a blue speck of dust in space, are simply an infinitesimally, microscopically tiny organism in the macrocosm of the space, time, energy and matter of the physical universe!Ìý In fact, there are a trillion, trillion planets floating within a billion, billion galaxies that are no less significant that Earth!

Yet, you and I, as Immortal Spiritual Beings, are, collectively, The Creators of it ALL!Ìý The simple, obvious proof of this assertion is this:Ìý If YOU can perceive it, YOU are creating it!

MILAREPA

Jetsun MilarepaÌý (c. 1052 â€ c. 1135 CE) is generally considered one of Tibet's most famous yogis and poets.

Milarepa is famous for many of his songs and poems, in which he expresses the profundity of his realization of the . Through the illustration of his own life, Milarepa set for all Buddhists an example of the perfect Bodhisattva, and a model of the incorruptible life of a genuine practitioner of Buddhist Tantrism. His life is an unmistakable testimony to the unity an interdependency of all Buddhist teachings Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana for Buddhahood is not attainable if any of the three is lacking. He made it clear to all that poverty is not a kind of deprivation, but rather is a necessary way of emancipating oneself from the tyranny of material possessions; that Tantric practice by no means implies indulgence and laxity, but hard labor, strict discipline, and steadfast perseverance; that without resolute renunciation and uncompromising discipline, as Gautama Buddha Himself stressed, all the sublime ideas and dazzling images depicted in Mahayana and Tantric Buddhism are no better that magnificent illusions.

Sri Anandamayi Ma

Sri Anandamayi Ma (1896-1982) was one of the most influential spiritual luminaries of the Twentieth Century. Her devotees ranged from Prime Ministers and great Saints down to the simplest villagers, and people came from all over the world to simply see Her and sit in Her presence. Though virtually uneducated, She spoke with the authority of direct experience and captivated all with Her sweetness and power. To this day, Her presence and guidance is felt by those who turn to Her in prayer, and Her life is an inspiration to all who feel drawn to the spiritual Path.

Many times in the history of the world, Divinity has manifested to bring light, guidance and inspiration to the human race. Anandamayi Ma was an embodiment of Divinity and spiritual power in our own times, and Her message and guidance is eternally relevant and uplifting. She often stressed that Her appearance and birth was not the result of karma or compulsion, but that She was the visible manifestation of the pure aspiration of the spiritual longing of mankind. During Her eighty-six years on this earth, in Her own unassuming and spontaneous way, She exerted a profound influence on an entire generation.
