"I like being in charge." Dee
"That's not what makes someone the Dominant." Micah
The same could be said for this book:
“There was ass spanking and ass finger fucking!�
“That’s not what labels a book BDSM even if you throw in that the main character is the owner of a BDSM club.�
I actually had another opening quote for this book. But that was until the chapter 13. And then everything went downhill. Why Ms. Schroeder?
I was really enjoying Micha’s “holding on to an invisible thread of control�. His need to dominate her, yet not intimidate was highly ranked on my “he can treat her with respect�-meter. The chemistry between them was so sizzling that I had to pay attention not to moan while on the train this morning. But then the chapter 13 came, the intended mystery/chasing/bringing bastard brother and SOB dad to justice somehow went flat and I lost interest.
I’ve read so enough books where the Dom initiated a submissive into BDSM w/o so much harm done. Harm in the sense of spoiling the book. What happened to the main Dom, the owner of that BDSM Club at Hawaii who had subs throwing themselves at him? Schroeder describes him as someone who “� needed to control, needed to be the Dom. It wasn’t something he merely desired in the bedroom, it was something he needed to be complete.� So what happened to that? Don’t tell me that it is because he respects Dee’s strength. And that the author mentioned “He actually preferred a spunky sub. He wanted a woman who could stand up for herself. Not someone weak-willed.� Sorry I’m not buying it even if I like strong female characters. You can have strong female subs w/o weakening strong Doms.
Maybe after their honeymoon and now that Dee isn’t a virgin anymore he’ll be able to stop tiptoeing around his wife and start nourishing his Dom side with a woman who obviously appreciates that…Because Micah needs it to be complete�

Needing to keep a low profile, she chooses not to get involved with a lot of men, who always seem to cause trouble. But she knows, as well as most of the staff, that owner Micah Ross can’t keep his eyes off her.
Micah can’t help but be off the wall attracted to Dee. Being a dominant in his relationships is central to his life, and he knows deep down that Dee would be a wonderful submissive. The hard part is convincing her of this. Giving her the confidence to make that leap. Dee has never tried the BDSM lifestyle, and after much persuading from Micah, gives in � just a tiny bit.

A Little Harmless Lie is book four in her Harmless series, and the second I have read. I was first introduced to Micah in the previous book and was immediately intrigued by him. A very strong Native American, who is more reserved and private, but when Dee comes into his life he comes close to obsessed with her. She even jokes that he is a stalker. He becomes extremely overprotective. If you are a fan of the intense, growly, “don’t even look at my woman� hero, Micah is definitely for you. The fun he has showing her the BDSM lifestyle is super hot. Dee has just enough spunk to not always listen to her Dom 100% of the time. And Micah loves every second of it.
This book also has a strong romantic suspense element to it. For as grand of scale this suspense takes on, Melissa Schroeder does a nice job presenting it in a book that is not super long. A few times I thought it was made easy that some of the supporting characters are extremely super smart people that can get them out of any situation, but overall I really enjoyed the suspense in this book.
With two books under my belt, I definitely anticipate Melissa Schroeder’s next release. She writes very sexy, intense heroes and heroines that are smart and give it right back. Very good!

And the sex…well that just screams for itself, or should I say it stays silent, unless it's going to use the safe word.

I enjoyed this book but did find that it sort of lost its momentum half way through, thankfully there was a extra hot guy to escort me to the end.
Micah ... the name alone sends shivers down my spine, yummy!!
"His voice didn't rise. If anything it lowered, sliding seductively over her nerve endings."
This is the best ever marriage proposal and statement of love I have heard ...
"The moment I touched you, it was as if I had come home. You are the first person I want to see in the morning, and the last touch I want at night. I love you."

There's nothing harmless about these stories. Love the setting and the characters. The only thing I don't like is the cover. I suppose the problem with having faces is you picture one thing in your mind and sometimes the covers just don't match. This one really threw me off. But it's what's inside that counts. Easy read and very, very steamy.

This was a very good story about a dom patiently courting a virgin employee. It was more about their growing relationship than love scenes, and the hero was wonderful.

Dee is a woman with lots of secrets. She has been living on the run for a long time and she's ready to run again if necessary, but she likes Hawaii and doesn't want to go. It doesn't hurt that she also likes her boss, Micah. He runs a successful club in Hawaii. He is attracted to Dee but is concerned about making a move on her. When danger follows Dee, Micah is there to help her solve the problem. Will they beat the bad guy, or will they lose everything?
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Yes, Micah owns an adult activity club and it does play a role in the story and their relationship but it's not the biggest part of the story. The author did a good job giving Dee a background that made sense. I felt so bad for Dee and the fact that she has to keep running to stay ahead of the bad guy. I understood why Dee would be attracted to Micah and why she would give into that attraction even though she knows she's going to run again soon. Micah has a good backstory, and the author did a good job showing how he went from homeless to owning a successful club. It all plays a role in the story so none of it is wasted space. I understood why Micah was drawn to Dee but more importantly why he could no longer stay away from her. They make sense as a couple. I even like the bad guy and how he was brought down. There are side characters that are pivotal to the story. I like that the author gave just enough information to show how they would be important in this story and perhaps in future stories.
My one complaint is that Dee's situation was brought about by a bad guy with a lot of power. I'm just not sure how taking him down would completely free Dee from having to run. But I am going to overlook that because this isn't that kind of story.
This is a contemporary story that takes place in Hawaii and Las Vegas. This is part of a series, but I think it would be okay to read it as a standalone. I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

This was a workplace romantic suspense.
I absolutely loved this story! This has been one of the best romantic suspense series I have read with complex characters and steamy edge of your seat stories. Highly recommend! Must read!

The safe house she was in was attacked and she had to escape on her own. She has been on the run for ten years changing identities as needed to stay hidden from her family.
Micah Ross is a Dom and owns the very successful Rough & Ready club with his business partner and best friend Evan Chambers. He had a rough upbringing and is a self made man. He is a former bounty hunter and fighter. He has been fascinated with Dee for months and watched her on the club monitors.
Micah decided to ask Dee out to dinner. She has told him she is not into the lifestyle but is secretly interested in it. He thinks she is a submissive. They date several times and eventually hook up. While in the bedroom attached to his office she heard one of the FBI agents who protected her in Witness Protection questioning Micah about her and she flees. Her twin brother who takes his own death to hide from his family and was trained by the CiA drugs her and flies her to Vegas trying to protect her. Micah goes nuts when he finds her missing and goes to Vegas to rescue her. The former FBI agent follows them to Vegas. They all combine forces to arrest her father and brother. They find the mole who have her safe house location to her family. Micah and Dee get their HEA.

A Little Harmless Lie is the fourth book in The Original Harmless Five series. This is a 20th anniversary edition of the book and it has been updated and expanded. As with the other books in this series I had not read them originally so this is a new experience with an author that I have loved after discovering her writing a few years ago. This story is about Dee Sumner and Micah Ross. The story-line is romance mixed with suspense, a lot of steamy hotness and BDSM, centered around the Rough & Ready, a BDSM Club. Dee has been in hiding and on the run from her Mafia boss father and family after seeing something she should not have. She has landed on her feet at the club and is now the head bartender. Micah owns the club and is a Dom, but has become bored. These two slowly circle each other, each with their own reasons for not starting something. But eventually the walls and reasons are broken down and the passion is crackling hot and spicy. But will Micah be able to protect Dee when her life is once again put in danger?
This is a great story that absorbs you and then envelopes you into it the more you read. The characters are fantastic, the secrets are known to the reader but revealed in some interesting twists during the story. This is not a dark and heavy story but it is intense at times. A wonderful read!

This is book four in The Original Harmless series and it is Dee and Micah’s story. Dee is a mafia princess until she witnessed a murder by her father and she knew that she needed to run and go into hiding so that she was safe a protected and a few years later she ends up as a bartender at The Rough N Ready which is a elite BDSM club in Hawaii where she keeps to herself and doesn’t get involved with anyone or make friends as that could lead to her being in a dangerous situation. Micah is the owner of Rough N Ready and ever since the first time that he met Dee he was instantly attracted to her but she keeps her walls so high around her but he eventually convinced Dee to try the BDSM lifestyle and that is when the chemistry between them explodes and is so off the charts that you can feel it coming of the pages. When the past that Dee has tried so hard to hide away from comes back to haunt her meaning everything that was carom in her life has now turned chaotic that is when Micah steps forward to stand by her side and protect her regardless of the situation or consequences. There are twists and turns along with suspense, danger, drama, action, hot scenes, moving forward, great characters, hope, love and a action packed edge of your seat read and I can’t wait to read more books in this series.

This started out on a strong note. Action, suspense, and the anticipation for more to come. It took a while, but more did come.
When Dee was thinking about being 17 at the beginning if the book, and wanting to do what 17 yo's did again, I thought she was thinking about her younger self. I didn't realize she was actually 17 when she was in the safe house.
I felt like the book slowed down while Micah and Dee were trying to establish their relationship. There was some tension and heat exhibited between the two, but it was not as intense as I thought it would be. I can't put my finger on it. All the elements were there, but it felt a bit flat to me.
It did pick up again later in the book with a twist or two, some action, and suspense. Even Dee and Micah's relationship seemed to have intensified during that part of the book.
I was glad Micah and Dee got their HEA, but I found the part of the story about Dee, the FBI, and the secrets much more intriguing. I would give this book 3.5 stars.

I was glad Micah and Dee got their HEA, but I found the part of the story about Dee, the FBI, and the secrets much more intriguing. I would give this book 3.5 stars.

This is the 4th in The Original Harmless Five series featuring the anniversary edition re-release of Micah and Dee's HOT and sweet intense romance. Dee used to be your typical mafia princess until she witnessed her father kill someone. Dee then has to go into hiding and years on the run haven't been easy they've taken a toll on her she can't form any long term friendships. Dee completely avoids any kind of romantic situations but that doesn't stop her from obsessing about her boss Micah. With the kind of club that Micah runs gorgeous women throw themselves at him but he wants something more challenging. The only woman that Micah is interested is Dee but she's an employee and he never messes with his staff. Until the kiss that changes everything between them but when Dee's secrets and lies are revealed because her old life comes looking for her will Micah be able to protect her? Can their love survive the lies? You really need to read this HOT and sweet intense romance to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book as well as the previous books in this AMAZING series!.

Suspenseful and sexy from beginning to end.
Micah Ross will make any woman melt. Tall and built with a body for sin. A total alpha and amazing Dom with hair I wish I could run my fingers through. A strong man and natural protector, Micah crosses his own lines when his head bartender can't seem to leave his head. There is something about Micah that will make you swoon, big time.
Dee Summers had it all until witnessing event that change her life forever. Ten years on the run has had a brave woman never settling down and changing her name too many times. Dee is strong will and courageous. The love the spunk of this woman. She's bold and daring while trying to stay under the radar. Something or someone has this woman on the run lingering longer than what a smart girl should.
Highly entertaining with the perfect level of intensity. Micah and Dee are one of my favorite couples of the Harmless series. I love the dynamic and intensity that these two share. Micah and Dee both have amazing personalities and character traits that make you fall in love with them. One of things I love about Melissa's work, is that you get to know her characters so well through the course of the story. You see and learn their flaws and strengths like you would a friend in real life. It adds so much personality and depth to the story. Ms. Schroeder balances the suspense and romance perfectly. Keeping this reader on the edge of the seat throughout the entire story. Micah and Dee so much chemistry and tension brewing and buzzing, that once acted upon this pure combustion. A Little Harmless Lie is the perfect way to get lost in paradise.

I guess being on the run doesn’t give a girl much time for any hanky-panky although working in a BDSM club must have given Dee a few ideas. Yet, although she’s been working at the club for a couple of years, and has held firm until now, I’m not sure what triggers the sudden pull between her and the club’s owner, Micah. Being a Dom, Micah had certainly noticed Dee’s submissive tendencies, but she has been adamant that she’s not into the lifestyle when he offered to show her the ropes (no pun intended). While I understood that Micah wanted to respect Dee’s boundaries and not scare her away, I have to admit I was expecting a more forceful approach. So, although the sex was hot, it was not as scorching as I hoped once Dee submitted to Micah and while he was the dominant in their relationship, there was a lot of topping from the bottom by Dee. Saying that however, I did like how they interacted and appreciated the fact that Micah was not a “by-the-book� Dom.

Head Dom gets his HEA. These books in the ‘Little Harmless...� series are all stand-alone, but are best read in order. I really enjoyed this latest offering in these reissued stories from Melissa Schroeder � as it focusses on Micah, the sexy owner of Rough & Ready, a BDSM club in Hawaii which features in most of the previous books. I loved how the action starts right away as the story kicks off with young Marjorie/Dee running for her life after an attempt to kill her to stop her testifying against her mob boss father. Fast forward ten years and the now ‘reinvented� Dee is tending bar at the BDSM club in Hawaii. I really liked that she and her boss, Micah, circle around each other as the chemistry between them grows; Dee maintains she doesn’t subscribe to the lifestyle to club represents, but dominant Micah sees below her facade recognising the submissive tendencies she doesn’t even realise she possesses. The story takes on a romantic thriller genre as Dee’s past comes back to haunt her. A really good read; not for those who prefer their romance ‘sweet & clean. However!

This is book 4 in Schroeder's Original Harmless Five series and can be read as a standalone book but is oh so good as part of this series. I am hooked of everything Schroeder writes - balancing amazing witty characters with a captivating, smooth flowing storyline that has excitement, sweet romance and steamy chemistry. This is Micah and Dee's story and while a shorter read and lighter on the steamy bits than most but oh still so, so good! Suspense and drama filled this one is fantastic, as Dee's life flips overnight and she stays on the run but her attraction to her boss Micah is the reason for her staying long past the time she's to cut and run. Will the secrets she keeps stay hidden or will her harmless little lie turn out to be worth a life? I can't wait for more from Schroeder and this series!

This is the fourth book in the Harmless Series. I have not read the other books in the series, but had no problem keeping up. This is Micah and Dee's story, and it was more a growing love story between the owner of a BDSM club and Dee, his employee who is a virgin. He never dates employees, but he couldn't get her off his mind. As a teenager, she witnessed her father and brother kill an employee and was put in witness protection. Later she was on the run for then years until she ended up at Micah club in Hawaii. He claimed to have a need to dominate, but he let Dee run over him at times. His marriage proposal was one for the books. Overall, a good story that was a fun read. The characters were interesting and well-developed. I read a free arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

A Little Harmless Lie is the 4th book in the series re-released in an anniversary edition. I highly recommend reading the books in order, so that references to past events make sense. Micah and Dee are both wonderful characters, incredibly strong-willed, tough on the outside with a goey centre. The chemistry between them is hot, with steamy sexy times that are only lightly kinky. Throw in a bit of suspense with some surprises, a tight-knit group of friends and a seriously sweet HEA and you've got a fantastic read!.

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.
