After her grandmother dies, Amity Frost leaves a good job in Philadelphia and a recent heart break to take care of Gram's house and effects in Amish country in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Secrets about her Gram's past begin to unravel when Amity finds a bundle of love letters in a roll top desk.
Strange cries in the night keep Amity awake, and the attentions of a handsome and kind Amish man, David Fisher, distract her. What danger awaits Amity in Amish country, and will true love prevail in the present where it was thwarted in the past?
This is a short story with a little mystery and romance to it. It was a very easy read that held my attention from the beginning. I read the entire story in one setting. I'm ready to read another one by this author!
Cries From the Past was a wonderful story about Amity, whose grandmother "Gram" had chosen to leave her Amish faith. When Gram dies, Amity moves to her home to settle the estate. Amity has chosen to continue her milk delivery service and is pleasanty surprised by the good-looking Amish man who delivers it. There is an immediate interest on both sides. I loved how Lisa wove the story of Gram's past with Amity's present. Even though the story was short, I felt like the story was complete. Well done.
