Kasahara is being pushed to the limit and grilled over something she didn't do. She's being hit just like Dojo was back in the day for what he did for her. They've no idea why she'd being attacked but the group has decided that they will not let her go through it alone and are doing everything that can to help her. Will she make it through this or crack?

Well this is not as light as the last one but has its moments. Loyalties are tested in this one. I like the determination of the main character and how she has her friends at the library. And of course that Dojo helps her while pushing her to do her best. Good volume.

The plot suddenly gets a lot heavier in this volume with loyalities questioned, and the mechanisms of beauracracy rearing its ugly head. That said, just as always, the comedy hitt's a high note [SPOILER] especially after a conversation between Iku and Dojo is accidently taped! Shojou at it's best!

Kasahara on the hot seat - for something she didn't do for a change. She's got some really great people behind her - that's the important thing. Will she make it through the most awful persecution she's ever faced?

It's suddenly getting super good. All of the abuse Kasahara suffers because of a traiter among the Librarians...I feel.bad for her, and yet she still has her close friends, like Shibazaki.

Tezuka's older brother is introduced more formally, though he proved to be the main villain. I don't expect that to be the last we hear of him.

I really want Tazuka and Shibazaki to get together! They're perfect together!

Since it left me on a cliffhanger, there's no way I'm waiting to read the next one tonight.

Much better than the last one!

There still are some paneling issues and some jerkiness in the storytelling but not as much as the last. I liked this one more because it was more about the library and it¡¯s fight against other opposing groups and people.

There are so many head pats in this series. It¡¯s cute and slightly annoying at the same time. Cute because it¡¯s a thing one of the couples do. Slightly annoying because it happens at least once per volume.

"You're so busy feeling sorry for yourself you forgot how to treat your friends. Is this who you are? I don't think so! Don't keep stuff bottled up! Let it out like a man! If you need to work it off, well I'm here. Bring it on!" - Kasahara (to Tezuka)

Someone is posting quite nasty book reviews on the Library's website and it is an actual librarian called Kazuki Sunagawa, believe it or not. The reviews have provoked many people, among them Marie and Kasahara because their favourite books were portrayed as trash. And for a librarian to write such things is a disgrace but the freedom of speech expends to the employees as well and at the top of the page it clearly states that this is a personal opinion and not Library's. But is it really that simple?

"Sorry. I just don't know if I can be unbiased on the issue. Especially when it concerns her. (Komaki about Marie)
Heh... Love is blind. Love is blinding. (Dojo)"

Tezuka reveals a bit of his history and upbringing. His brother Satoshi and him were very close and Tezuka even idolized Satoshi until the day Satoshi decided to leave the family. Namely, Satoshi and his father had differing opinions on the future of libraries and freedom of speech. Satoshi wanted to change the Library, he wants to make the Library a part of the government organizations like the MBC is. He believes that this is the best for the future and for stopping the war between the Library and the MBC even though he is aware of the fact that the Library would lose much of its power and influence in that case. So he founded a "Future of the library" group.

"You haven't changed, Hikaru. And you know I haven't either. I'm not one to give up easily. You will be... Mine." - Satsohi (about Tezuka)

Shibazaki's admirer tells her that he has a source which told him that the Musashino Library is engaging in an unauthorized destruction of books and that the story will be published unless she tells him to ask his source to pull the story out. She is torn between the desire to protect the Library and the need to be honest and truthful.

"The tension in the Library is stronger than ever. The two ideologies are about to clash. It's going to be ugly."

The modern day book burning was blamed on Sunagawa. When the panel of inquiry questioned him he managed to make a deal by naming an accomplice, Corporal Kasahara. The most righteous girl in the world. Everyone received this news as a shock when the panel asked to question Kasahara but Dojo seemed to be hurt more than the rest. So adorable.

Team Dojo set on to prepare Kasahara for any and all possible questions and provided her with satisfying answers.

"This is going to be a marathon. Things will get harder and harder for you. This is an order. Let me know when it becomes too much for you!" - Dojo (to Kasahara)

Intrigue, plots, suspense in lieu of action. Not bad, not bad at all. It's a real page-turner. Or should I be more accurate and say a page-clicker since I read it on my laptop? :) Anyway, the things are getting very interesting, the atmosphere is heating up and this Volume is way to short for the weak of heart so just continue on to the next one to calm your nerves.

One thing I must mention is a difference between the anime and manga. Here, in Volume 7 we have much more inner reflections and personal struggles displayed than are shown in an anime. The story itself is consistent but way too short in the anime. In the manga we encounter Kasahara's pain and feel her struggles as our own during her lengthy interrogation, especially as everyone starts to avoid her and reject her as a criminal. Manga is much more emotional and realistic.

Bonus manga. Marie Nakazawa and Kasahara get soaking wet when heading to the Library. Consequently Marie is given a Library member uniform to change into and through series of silly developments she is mistaken as a real member and is given a couple of jobs to do until Komaki finally finds her and then... well he's just so sweet...

Extra bonus manga. Kasahara unable to relax and sleep. Until she imagines her... prince.

Good continuation. I wish Kasahara would realize who her Prince is already. Liking the Hikaru and his brother plot. Hoping the inquiry stuff doesn't go to long but appreciating the similarities between what Kasahara and Dojo have gone through for the library. Always like the parts with Shibazaki and Asahina.

Iku and her superior, Dojo work in the Library Forces, protecting the written word from the government! In this volume a librarian's harsh reviews bring down criticism on the library. And when he makes things worse by holding a modern book burning, Iku is named as an accomplice. Hikaru's brother is also involved...

I love the secondary characters in this series and I love them more now that they are getting more characterization and back history. Hikaru plays a big part in this one and I love how Iku handles him. Dojo though is the winner of my heart. LOVE the frames in the end where Iku tells him he's her hero. She has an opportunity to learn who her prince is though... Just love this whole angle. It's hard when you love your job and those jobs are limited to risk it by crossing boss / worker boundaries, especially with such a tight team.

The art on this is not mind blowing, its average... I have never had anything poor to say about it, the art gets the job done. But this time there was some extra special love thrown in here!

I loved how the threat came from a more political source this time... Iku had to deal with things using skills she's not good at and I love how the team comes together on this! Loved the bonus manga too! Marie is so cute, the helpless female!

BOTTOM LINE: Iku in danger makes for the best story even if it's only political!

There was A LOT of growth in this volume. Iku really is growing into her role as a combatant and admired her greatly with the challenges she was facing.

Seeing her friends stand so strong by her was awesome. I think it was one of my favorite parts of the whole book because you see how deeply they care for one another.

I totally wanted to give Tezuka a hug!! His backstory brought out all the feels.

Also, more Komaki and Marie = YAY!

This was great. When a librarian posting angry reviews on the library¡¯s website starts to cause issues and bringing into question the library¡¯s neutral opinion on books, an inquiry occurs. I loved how our group supports one another throughout this entire volume. It really shows how much Iku and Hikaru have become part of this defense force family. The role that Hikaru¡¯s brother also plays in this was really interesting as well. I want to get to the next volume right away!

Marie and Komaki are the cutest couple ever.

That¡¯s it, that¡¯s the review.

Kidding! (Did you really think that¡¯s all my rambling mouth would say? Pfft, as if.)

Oh man, I felt so bad for so many characters in this volume, but mostly Tezuka for his past and current pain (someone give this man a hug!) and Iku for the horrible struggles she has to face even though she¡¯s innocent. I loved how her friends stood by her and made sure she was ready and prepared but also to just let her know they care about her and are on her side no matter what. They¡¯ve all grown into such a strong bond of friendship and I love them all dearly because of it. ????

And Tezuka¡¯s brother is THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!!! Can someone go fling him off a cliff NOW?!?!? ?? Oh man, there is no describing the depths of my despise and hatred towards this man¡ªhe makes Adviser Keishuk from Yona of the Dawn friendly, nice, and downright likable compared to this piece of manipulating filth! I hope someone punches his pretty face at least once before the end. ?

Hang in there, Iku! I feel your pain. ??

Content: mild swearing; a character abandons their family; tension in a family; a character tries to manipulate and blackmail another; violence (nothing over PG-13); a character is framed and put through an inquiry for something they didn¡¯t do

I know, I know, it appears that I rushed through this volume rather quickly after completing the sixth installment in the series. But can you blame me when the newest addition to the plot, and one of the bigger challenges the LTF will face has blossomed?

The seventh volume begins to poke and prod at just how hypocritical and closed minded the LTF can be in their mission to prevent censorship. Their intentions are good, but when do they appear to be as zealous as those who wish to ban or burn books? When does their vision and enthusiasm cause a disastrous influence and foundation of their cause?

This volume also contains situations where our characters are challenged in such a way that their LTF training could hardly prepare them for. Suspicion is a dangerous poison, and unfortunately it is spreading throughout the LTF, the library, and even the families of various leads with dire consequences.

I am glad that I will have to wait a little bit longer to start the eighth volume in Yumi's series, given that the events to come in that volume (and the ones that follow it) will require patience not only from the characters but the reader themselves too.

This title continues to impress me with the various issues they address in the library world. Having a librarian writing scathing, negative book reviews that are directly connected with the library is a serious issue that certainly touches on rights pf free speech as well as the library's responsibility to provide diverse, unbiased reading materials and opinions. The insidious nature of the Tezuka's brother is a bit disturbing, because it almost seems like he is more focused on turning Hikaru than actually advancing his library agenda. And Director Eto, as Shibazaki nearly says, almost seems too good to be true. He is astoundingly fair and competent. Hopefully his character is meant to mostly be an example to readers of responsible library work. I sense he might end up having ulterior motives later. I have to ask though, why does Sunagawa seemingly get a free pass to run home with his tail between his legs? I'm thinking he must have been a plant sent by the elder Tezuka to activate when he wanted. Let's see how Kasahara gets through the inquiries!

I¡¯m sure any lover of books will agree that certain books are the worst ever and certain books are the best ever. IN YOUR OWN OPINION.

And in most places, you have a right to state your opinion. Just be aware that others also have a right to state their opinion too. So if say Harry Potter sucks, you need to be prepared for any backlash. That goes with any subject. And if you plan on giving your opinion, have the guts to own it and not hide behind a disclaimer like a coward.

And ruining something just because you don¡¯t agree with it is also bad. If everyone did that we¡¯d be left with nothing.

I love this series and these are the feelings it gives me. Like the fluffy ones from the bonuses.

This series has 15 volumes.

In Volume 7, the story continues with a focus on several different story arcs; however, the focus remains on Iku. She and the Library Defense learn of a mole in the library: someone was burning books in sympathy for the government. Iku is stuck in the middle of it and ends up defending herself as someone who didn¡¯t participate. In the end, it might have been a family member of someone within the Library Defense Force.

I'm a little upset that I have to wait now until I get volume 8 to continue the story. I am really enjoying it. The characters are great and I love the development the characters go through.
I like the bonus chapters as well as the authors little side panels that are scattered throughout with the authors thoughts.

An interesting storyline - when the anti-censorship faction have to deal with one of their members wanting to censor the pro-censorship publications...you can't claim to be anti-censorship when you want to supress something because you happen to disagree with it.

Clumsily done, but the story in this one was more interesting.
