Fun little mystery. :) I hope to see these ladies again.

Capitola Jones, half shape-shifter, is partnered with Shar, half Succubus, and Moo, an Alfar, to create Triptych. Triptych helps people, more over supernatural people, "find" things. But an old friend of Capitola's family suggested her business could help the human priest, along with her father whom is of the highest regard in her opinion. The case: The Priest is a Principal at an all girls Catholic private school and every three months girls are leaving, performing strange sexual acts along with sacrifices then disappearing. And no one can find the "man" behind it.

The three ladies find themselves undercover in the Catholic private all girls school. LOL! Oh yes, a half succubus in an all girls school. hee hee.

Oh this was a nice new setting! I loved these three ladies. This is the same world as in the Jane True series, but these are three new ladies to us. And three I do hope to see again in the future. So being the Jane True world, there is magic around and part of the case. They made me chuckle and smile. They are quite a team. They may not see eye to eye on some things, but they love each other dearly, like sisters. These ladies are completely different in personality yet blend so wonderfully.

This book is full of mystery. I kept wondering who the guilty party was, or if we even had the right suspects. Mixed with the mystery is Nicole's fun and snarkiness. I have to say in the end I chuckled, as the joke was made, but it reminded me of an Adult Scooby-Doo episode, with out the dog of course and with three ladies, no men.

I don't want to say to much and give the story away, since it is a short story. But it is fun.

This book is set in the world of the author's Jane True books, so there are parts that seem familiar. I thought this short was a little boring, probably due to the under cover location at the school. I felt faintly icky with how the girls acted and just who was the bad guy and how Starr had to act to get in good to find the bad guys.

Cappie, Moo and Shar are supernatural private investigators. This sets up a great premise for a series(I hope). Peeler has just the right mix of paranormal and great characters with a mystery to investigate. I hope to see more with the Triptych company.

Not a bad story and I was surprised by the villains but it didn't really showcase the three investigators, they were rather blah. Having read other stories with the, I know they aren't blah.

Something Wikkid This Way Comes is yet another fabulous novella, this time by the lovely Nicole Peeler! While we don't get to see our fave heroine Jane, we do get to see more of her world of supernatural peeps!

It's been awhile since I read the last Jane True book, so I can't remember if all these ladies were in it, I think they might have been, but my memory is just really fuzzy. Regardless it was quite fun!

We still get some of the same snark that we get from Jane and crew! Cappie, Moo and Shar are quite the trio. And when they are asked to look into a case at a high school for girls, where girls have been going missing they decide to take it since there seems to be some Satanic cult action going on as well!

The mystery itself was pretty good, I kind of had an eye on the who-done-it, but there was still oh so much more that I was missing to the case! All three go undercover at the school in order to find out who the bad guy might be and all.

There were some definite laughs along the way! At some points it seemed a little slow, but it was only because the girls didn't have many leads, but once they did get one, it took them to the rest of the mystery!

My fave part was the very end when there was a lovely Scooby-Doo reference! Kudos to Nicole for that!! I loved it! The trio's friendship has some real strong bonds and this is evident throughout the story and I liked that. It made them seem human even though not one them truly is!

This was a fun, fast read. It's a standalone set in Jane True's universe. So, you don't have to have read the Jane True books to understand what's going on, although the world-building provided in the main series does help a bit. The main characters Cappie, Moo, and Shar are all people Jane has met but Jane and her other friends never appear in the story. This is a novella, with only 150 pages. As such, it's hard to give much plot description without spoilers. I will say there's a fairly large sexual element to go hand-in-hand with the fake Satanic cult, so if that isn't your cup of tea I'd recommend staying away. Good news is that Nicole Peeler is very clear to emphasize at several points in the book that all the girls involved are over 18. Nothing happens without consent, though I still found it rather creepy.

The story is told from Cappie's POV. She's got a good sense of humor and I liked her interaction with Moo and Shar. The three of them are extremely different in personality with a sisterly closeness. Cappie is the most "normal" one of the three, with Moo being coolly controlled former goddess and Shar the flamboyant half-succubus. It was a almost a parody of a traditional mystery complete with bitchy cheerleaders, moody outcasts, and one Scooby-doo like "if you hadn't come along!" Overall a fun story and good dip back into the Jane True universe after the series ended.

Another novella from one of my favourite series that I've been waiting ages to read - it finally became available in the UK today.

Set in the Truniverse but with no Jane True, the story follows Cappie, Moo and Shar as they go undercover at a school to try and find some missing girls. Who the priest thinks has been taken by Satan since the girls were caught naked in public or in lewd acts. The trio are in for a shock when they find out what is going on.

I loved this little (too little) short, Peeler can keep your attention even in a few pages. This is just as well written and as funny as the rest of the Jane True series. If you're a Jane True fan, then you must read this. If you're not a Jane True, what is wrong with you?!? Don't worry, there's a cure - go to your local bookstore and pick up a copy of Tempest Rising.

“A priest walks in to an all female supernatural detective agency.

No, this is not the opening of a really bad joke, but the start of a new short story by Nicole Peeler, where Father Matthes calls upon the three PI’s of Triptych to determine why girls are going missing from his private school. Soon Cappie, Shar and Moo are going undercover to find out where the what has really happened to these girls.

This was a really great, light read. While I love Jane True, the leading lady in Nicole Peeler’s Tempest series, it was awesome to revisit some of the other characters that have cropped up in the series. So if you are already a fan or just want a fast fun read, I highly recommend it.

Interesting, short mystery with a few of the side characters from Peeler's Jane True series, Shar, Moo, and Capitola.

Personally, I would love for Peeler to hold onto these types of stories, and release an anthology similar to what J.D. Konrath did for his Jack Daniels' series: he wrote a bunch of short stories not only about Jack, but the various people in her life, and released them in one book.

It would be worth it, I think, a way to flesh out the characters whenever she wants. I know she's done with the series, but I wouldn't mind stories set before it ended. A story with Ryu and Anyan working together would be neat.

Anyway! Worth a read, as it's quick and the characters have great chemistry, plus the exchanges between Moo and Shar are amusing.

While I love the Jane True series, and enjoy the main characters of this book, it just lacked something for me. I wish the author had spent more time developing the characters and helping the reader understand more about who they are. While I like the idea that these women love each other like sisters and work together as investigators, how did they come to be such good friends? It was an enjoyable book, but I wanted and expected more after her other books.

This is a short story about the ladies from Tryptich. Set in Jane True's world (although no Jane or Anyan) it was nice to get a bit more history on Cappie, Moo and Shar, since I really enjoyed them in book 3 of Jane's series. They're investigating a catholic school and go undercover to find out who's bringing magic in. Can't say much more without giving away spoilers, but it was nice to revisit Jane's world. Looking forward to reading more on Tryptich.

Nice, quick read set in the Jane True universe. Of all of the novellas from Nicole Peeler that I've read, this one was probably my least favorite, mostly because it didn't feature Jane, Anyan, Ryu, or any of the "main" gang. Still, not a bad read with some great one-liners.

Set in the Jane True elememtals/Alfar world, this quick, breezy tale follows a set of supernatural troubleshooters as they investigate multiple student disappearances from a posh girls' school. I, for one, hope to see more stories about them!

Satan's Surprise

Like the story. I felt a few questions were never answered and it was formulaic in so.e respects, but Nicole is able to add such life and humorous to her characters, it always makes her stories fun.
