An interesting read about possible interpretations of dreams and visions that may seem to be more than just a typical dream. I am sure many believers have had dreams such as this. If you have, this book will probably be of interest to you.
Pastor Perry Stone delves deeply into the spiritual phenomena of prophectic dreams and visions in this spirit-filled and uplifting book. He begins with a prophetic dream/vision that he had in 1996 about the 911 events. His recounting was emotional and humble. His transparency and honesty about being perplexed by his visions and dreams set the tone for his book. He is well-versed and founded in sound biblical knowledge.
Pastor Stone's has a flowing and very enthralling writing style. He is engaging and never preachy as he relays information and teaching. He is quite forthright about "divinely-directed & inspired" prophetic dreams and visisons and false prophecies and prophets. He has no patience with these practitioners and their misleading and warns all believers about this. He does tackle the false claims by psychics and faux visionaries. This was very re-assuring and re-affirming.
The heart of his book is to teach, inform, and enlighten the mature believer. One of the major topics he tackles is the reality and inevitability of prophetic dreams. He bases his guidanc eon the holy Scriptures and mentions the infallability of dreams that are in agrrement with the promises of God. He directs the reader with the necessit yof prayer and reliance on His guidance in relation to interpretting dreams. He covers listening to other believers (like one's spouse). One important aspect of Pastor Stone's book is that it is quite personalized to his personal experience and study of dreams and visions. His views of dreaming of dearly loved ones, repetitive dreaming, and angels are balanced between his experience and his scriptural study of dreams. he also states a scriptural-based truth that these heavenly visions & vistations are God's method of giving instruction, warnings, prophetic messages, and direction to man. Pastor Stone does address angelic visions with a stern teahcing that angels are created beigns and NOT the departed. He also elaborates on the difference between dreams and visions, symbolism, and the divine reasons/purposes of this phenomena.
Overall, I appreciated the depth and scholarly approach to this spiritual occurence. He includes an appendix of biblical symbols for the student of dreams and visions for reference. I enjoyed reading it and recommend it to the mature Christian with questions about dreams and visions.
Perry Stone is a christian author who covers a great deal of topics most don't. There's no question that every person will have a dream at one point or another. Possibly some will even have visions. But both experiences often leave people searching for interpretations. What did that dream mean? Is it a warning? Is it advice? Is it preparation for things to come? This book was a must read for me because this is a subject I find fascinating. Reading secular books about dreams can lead the reader down a dangerous path away from God. Perry Stone educates and informs the reader about what God is trying to tell us through our dreams and he educates us well. Though I do not agree with everything he says; he does make some good points. Most people dream nightly so it seems fitting to own at least one book like this. Many books on this subject have a more worldly meaning, with much of the interpretation bent toward psychic or generic meaning to symbolism. It's good to know it's okay to ponder and research dreams and visions as a christian, without feeling like you're dabbling in the occult. The only drawback that I've seen in the book is in the back. It lists many dream symbols and their meanings, but the list could have included more.
Although the narrative sounds interesting, it reads as a confessional on all the authors dreams in His lifetime. At first this tended to bother me. It sounded more like stuff being made up to support the substance of the book. But the more I read the more interesting it became. At the end of the book there is an in-depth analysis of symbols and their meanings according to the author when they appear in your dreams or visions. The one topic not covered in the book is what if you don't have dreams or visions? Does this mean God doesn't want to speak to you. And the in-depth analysis is only the authors interpretation and his belief on what it's meaning is. And I don't know if it's based solely on his dreams and dreams of his family members, or if it's based on hundreds or thousands of interviews his done of fellow believers. Overall it was interesting but not enough to warrant 5 Stars.
This book didn't really teach you how to do what its title promises. It was mostly a collection of dreams and visions from the author he believed he had interpreted and other examples used to illustrate what he believes you can do to control them or understand them. There isn't a really clear message in the book about the how's or why's. If someone likes this book its probably because it seems like his interpretations are true because the symbolism almost makes connections. There are few who actually understand the symbolism of the bible. One good thing about this book is how it might actually get someone interested enough in dream interpretation to go far enough to realize there is an actual God given science to it and learn how to use the knowledge in a useful way.
This book give you a very clear knowledge about this realm of christian life! Dreams and visions are one of the ways where God reveals and shows His will. Every dream and vision contain messages from heaven. Let's discover these and more in the pages of Perry Stone's book!!
He makes it easier to understand how to go about understanding your dreams and differentiating what is prophetic and informational or something that is bringing about remembrance of current or past events. A wonderful read and total recommend.
Good read but not the best insight to actually interpreting dreams and visions. Mostly he gives his own life experiences but still very interesting. Limited symbol definitions though, which I think most people would expect with that title.
I just love Perry Stone! I am so grateful for a man of God who operates in spiritual gifts and understands the importance of spiritual dreams and visions. So many Pastors today shy away from these topics and there is very little sound biblical teaching on it as well. The Bible clearly states in Joel 2:28 that in the last days God would pour out his Spirit and young and old alike would prophecy, dream dreams, and see visions.
As someone who has frequently and more recently been experiencing many prophetic dreams and visions, I was obviously drawn to this book. Perry covers so many aspects of dreams and visions that I hadn’t even considered. For instance some of the topics covered here are why dreams are often delayed coming to pass, nightmares, false prophetic dreams, psychic voices, dreaming of departed loved ones, the law of double dreaming, dream warnings, angel appearances in dreams, and biblical symbolism.
I really enjoyed reading the many dreams he explored in the book and his giving the interpretation of the dreams after the fact. It was so encouraging to hear how he and his father Fred Stone both operated in this gifting and they had several experiences to share on how the dream played out. At the end of the book is a very detailed dream symbolism section where he correlates many common symbols to their biblical interpretation with scripture references to back them up. This was very eye opening to me personally as it helped to give possible biblical interpretations on several personal dreams of mine.
This book makes for an interesting read about how God speaks to us through our dreams and sometimes visions. The author talks a lot about biblical symbolism in dreams and what they mean. Distinguishing a dream where God wants to communicate something to us, or just ordinary dreams. Double dreams where something is repeated in our dream but takes on a different scenario. Dreams where God is warning us about something , calling us to pray about a danger in ours or someone else's life. The one message that was really clear to me was, a dream from God sticks with us and is remembered, where ordinary dreams are usually forgotten. Dreams and visions are one way that God speaks to His people but there are also many others.
Indeed a great book! Perry dives into personal examples as well as studied insight to dreaming and visions. Followed by sound biblical foundational text, which is the most important part to teaching any spiritual gifting. It is 1 thing to receive God’s instruction or have dreams and visions, but it is another to understand what God is speaking!
Great book! Very insightful and helpful as an introduction to dreams and visions. The title is misleading as it is not a book on HOW to interpret dreams and visions, it is an informational book on what dreams and visions are and the purpose behind them. Still a great book though!
This book was really good and I got a deep understanding of what some dreams meant and how to study them. Great Christian book and I definitely recommend.
Perry Stone writes a book on some of the biblical examples and principles to dictate how God always shows us His vision through dreams, mentally or literally in the Spirit and works through generations, things are passed down generations. He speaks on warnings and guidance as well, then on the meaning or interpretation dreams also included an appendix which gives some prime detonation.
There is confidence and boldness for the future where God allows men to enter in the dream dimension to receive knowledge about themselves when given authority. We have set destinies even though dreams can be altered or prophetic.
It is a well-written book.

Interesting book, well research both from personal experience and Biblical point . perry stone seems to know what he is talking about, when it comes to dreams and visions. Anyone who needs some understanding in this matter should go for this book first cos there are many junk out there concerning the matter of dreams and visions. This book will give you a good foundation as to what next book to read if you need to read more concerning dreams and visions
I was really disappointed by this book. The title is a little misleading cos I didn't find information that will help in interpreting dreams and visions. Understand Your Dreams Now by Doug Addison is a better book on the subject matter.
An abridged version of "How to interpret dreams an visions" by the same author. It is a great book and recommended reading for all people who are interested in the prophetic or if you would like to know more about dreams and visions. Not very opinionated but rather stick to the Bible interpretation of dreams and visions. I appreciate the real experiences examples.
Perry Stone comes from a somewhat different prophetic stream than those whose books I usually read on prophetic topics. I like that, because it widens my perspective. I found his book to be very helpful. The best part was the listing at the end of the book of 50 common dream symbols found in the Bible. Perry's explanation of them was phenomenal! I only wish the list had been larger.
Solid teaching of what the Bible has to state about special dreams and/or visions that at times God chooses to give a person. Sometimes as a warning, or to prepare one for what is to come. I found the book to be a source of encouragement to me in life's journey.
Love that the copy I have is a leather bound volume, loved the feel. Thinking of printing and binding the electronic copy of "Democracy in America" by Alexis de Toqueville and binding it similarly, so that I will finish reading it. :)
This book was okay. Again I found it a rehashing of earlier books and things to do sometimes. I really liked the dream meaning dictionary at the end though. I wouldn't mind giving this another read sometime.
Great sequel to "Purging your house and pruning your family tree" - some overlap between the two but lots of good info and compelling personal accounts. Highly recommend the audio book.
