Do Not Disturb the Intellectual Situation: it's Occupied. James Franco prepares, Sotheby's sells out. Are computers stupid? Chris Glazek: Raze the prisons. Benjamin Kunkel: Buzz.

of the three N+1s I have (12/13/14), this my favorite—pretty much every essay, even if i disagree with it, is great, and ask for multiple rereads. the review of Where Art Belongs ("Female Trouble") is a very interesting exposition into art criticism and lit theory and got me to pick up that book as well. "raise the crime rate" has gotten me into the discourse surrounding the PIC and what should be done about it. the essay on the russian poetry scene and the one on uschooling are going to get reread pretty soon—it's been half a year since i first read those.
James Franco aside, FAR aside, this was one of the better NplusOnes. Loved the Empty The Prisons and Empty The Schools essays both, as well as the review of Kraus, and pretty much all of it. N+1 issues are always best when they keep their biggest and best samples OFF their website/RSS feed. Well-Done!
