Life ends when you become a grandmother! What? Why do women listen to that nonsense? I certainly don’t want to spend the rest of my life waiting to die. Don’t get me wrong, I want to enjoy every moment that I can with my grandkids and my family. But I also want to try things I’ve never gotten to experience before. Being part of an over-the-top protective family has been a bit restricting. Now’s my chance to try everything I can imagine. But I’m not ready to fall in love again. It doesn’t matter that my husband died decades ago. He was my ‘one. The only man I could ever love, and I failed him. Ethan, a semi-retired mercenary, keeps showing up wherever I am. He acts like I need a bodyguard—which I don’t. And I certainly don’t need to be distracted by his dreamy smile and kind heart.
Before you read this series be sure to read the Sweet Redemption series and then come right back here so you can read Not Concluded.
I have always adored Emilia from the previous series and I loved getting to know her better through this book. Watching her heal from losing her previous husband and fall in love again was everything.
Ethan is like my favorite grumpy guy. I love that he absolutely cherished Emilia even when she was stubborn and drove him nuts. I love that he was able to find happiness again after having a tragic backstory.
I loved that I just got to be with all the characters I love once again. Aurora Darklight truly has created more than just book series. She has truly created a world full of characters you can’t help but love. They are flawed, they are stubborn, they are broken, they are trying to find hope again and I love that I get to be with them through all the highs and lows.
This book made me cry, made me snort, made me laugh out loud, swoon and more. Just all the feelings.
Everyone needs an Emilia in their life. To just love on them and let them know they have worth. Even when so many have let them down or even left them like the kids struggling to survive on Willow Street.
