This was actually super interesting read after we all know how the seventh book played out, however my heart definitely broke a little when they voted Dobby literally the least likely to die out of everyone.

Really wish I’d have known about this before completing the series!

Since I'm reading this after reading book 7, I can judge how accurate the predictions were. Wow, Mugglenet! I'm impressed!

Most of their predictions make sense, and I am looking forward to seeing how many come true in Book 7!

I bought this book shortly before the release of book 7 for two reasons (besides wanting hear the theories): One, to support the folks at MuggleNet.com; and, two, because it seemed like a good cultural souvenir, of this time in history.

As I think they say in the book, we were living in a period of time that future readers won't be able to experience: a time when we can discuss theories and hopes and wait with anticipation for the final book to come out. From now on, people can just read straight through the entire series.

I found the book to be OK. It was very repetative: Every section had to summarize exactly what was just said. But, still, it was an easy read. There were many things that the book didn't talk about that I would have liked. But overall, the theories were OK. Not that this book is likely to be read any more (except by historians? :)

This was really amusing to read so far after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I am so glad that I did not read it first, because it would have spoiled Snape's memories, and I enjoyed seeing that love story played out in the novel. On the other hand, I also loved how wrong it was about so many other things. I don't think the people at MuggleNet expected the last book to be as dark as it ended up being. For instant, they were quite certain that the Weasley children would live but that their parents would die. I think this points out how good J.K. Rowling is not only at keeping us guessing but at demonstrating what a war would really be like in the Wizarding World. There will be unexpected deaths. People will die, even if their deaths don't directly influence Harry himself. Fred's death is monumental in demonstrating the true effects of a war. Similarly, it was heart-breaking to see Dobby listed as the character with the best odds of surviving, when in fact he only makes it half-way through the book. However, maybe it proves just how accurately Rowling can create real characters; just like us, I'm sure Harry never imagined that Dobby would be a victim of the war, yet shockingly for us all, that was the case. There were no correct predictions about the Deathly Hallows, but it was fun to read the ideas. All-in-all, I recommend this book to Harry Potter fans looking to remember the hype and excitement of the greatest literary conclusion to a series.

You may ask, why on earth did I read a book about what would happen in a book that was published 15 years ago (and that I have read many times since?). I think the introduction to this book explains it well:

“People will be picking up Harry Potter books for generations to come, but we are the lucky ones who can say, “We we’re there. We will remember the crazy, late-night madness of book releases and the teeming crowds of fans all over the world gathering in honour of Harry Potter. We will remember watching a book about a boy wizard seduce millions of kids away from their TV sets. We will remember spending countless hours arguing with our friends about Snape’s loyalties and whether Harry would survive the series. And, with so many burning questions yet to be answered, we will certainly remember debating about how this great adventure will finally end on the seventh and last book of the Harry Potter series I can’t stress enough how important it is to savour these moments of anticipation and speculation, because these moments will provide us with memories that we will fondly cherish in the future.

This book was a nostalgic trip into the world of intense speculation that surrounded the release of the last Harry Potter book. I wasn’t online enough back then to be hugely involved, so this book was also my way of getting involved (15 years too late) in a bit of the fun.

I’m impressed at how many of the main plot points they accurately predicted, and am quite glad I didn’t read this book back in 2006 as it would have spoiled some of the magic for me.

I can't even rate this book really. I read it just out of curiosity about what the HP fandom thought the end of the series would be like. I've been listening to a podcast where two lapsed Harry Potter fans re-read the series and reflect on it as adults, and that's gotten me into reflecting on it myself. Turns out the ideas in this fan book were actually way cooler and made much more sense than the actual book. Where is my Snape vs. Voldemort battle? Come on!

I hope these people have fulfilling lives these days, especially since this franchise went down the shitter and the author is the worst person alive now.

interested in eventually rereading HP as an adult. on that note: the authors say "we were there" for the time in which HP could still be guessed at. i was a small child when the books initially came out-- there was no way i could have "been there" for that. but the authors were also "there" for another, longer, now distinct period of time, which i am also nostalgic for: the time when the series brought people nearly exclusively joy instead of pain, before the author exposed herself as a hateful bigot. it's interesting how these two time frames overlap, and how naively we expected the second to be permanent.

I read this book after I had read HP7. So it was really interesting to read their theories and see that some things they got exactly right and others were way off. I think that reading this after HP7 came out kind of made this book a little less enjoyable but it was still great fun to see how close the ideas were to what actually happened.

Being the type that goes to Harry Potter forums, there wasn't much in this book that I haven't alredy heard. But, it was still fun to read the predictions and I must say, a lot of the predictions weren't far from what did take place in Book 7. Well, except what they predicted about Dobby...

It was okay. It just told me a bunch of predictions, some of them I had already thought of, and then when I read Harry Potter 7 lots of things that happened I had expected; it kind of made the book less good for me.

I had to read this when I found it at the library... Even though the final HP book came out years ago, I had to know what the most dedicated Potterheads expected to happen. It was highly entertaining and amazing how much they predicted correctly. Now I'll go off and re-read the entire series. ;)

I remember seeing this in stores when I was about 7 or 8 years old. I was excited to see theories because I was the hugest Harry Potter fan, and I still am. The Deathly Hallows came out when I was 9, and I just turned 25. I still remember reading the theories in this book

Un libro que leí antes de que se publicará "Harry Potter y las reliquias de la muerte". Fue genial leerlo y saber lo que los fans pensaban que podía suceder. Libro parte de mi infancia.

Emerson Spartz ends this book by speculating about what will happen to the world of Harry Potter after Book 7's release:

"Book 7 is scheduled for publication in the next few years . . . there will be tears, gasps, and sighs of relief. And then will come to the solemn realization that there will be no more release parties to attend, and no more books to look forward to . . . The Harry Potter books have allowed us to accompany J.K. Rowling on her journey, but the journey does not stop when all of the books have been released and read. We can develop our own plots and create our own characters and storylines. As long as we have our imaginations, Harry Potter - and the Harry Potter community - will never die. However you choose to get your dose of Potter, we're sure that all seven books will remain eternally on your bookshelf. The door to J.K. Rowling's world is permanently open, and we at MuggleNet.com will forever be journeying in, analyzing, discussing, and enjoying the world laid out before us.

We hope you'll still be there with us."

Thirteen years later in 2019, I obviously am. Reading this book brought me back to the summers of 2005, 2006, and 2007, where all I could think about was what the last horcruxes were, whether Harry, Ron, and Hermione would all make it out alive, and what was going to happen in the end. So many predictions are spot on. A few are wildly off the mark (giving Dobby the best odds of any character in the series of making it to the end...and saying "unless JRK does the unthinkable" both twins will have nothing but jokes in their future...ouch.) but have fascinating logic behind them (see my favorite part of the book, the theories about what will happen to Draco, Lucius, and Narcissa).

Reading this book makes me further confirm (if that's even possible) that if a genie came to grant me one wish in my life, it would be that every time I read the Harry Potter books, I would forget everything and read them again for the first time with all the joy, wonder, and magic of the first readthrough.

don't have access to specific articles or predictions made on external websites like Mugglenet.com. However, I can provide a general overview of the themes and expectations for the final book in the Harry Potter series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."

In the final book, readers can expect the culmination of many character arcs and plot threads. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are on a quest to find and destroy Horcruxes, objects containing pieces of Voldemort's soul, in order to weaken and ultimately defeat him. Along the way, they face challenges, uncover secrets, and experience personal growth.

As for who lives, who dies, and who falls in love, J.K. Rowling keeps readers on the edge of their seats with unexpected twists and turns. Some beloved characters may meet their demise, while others find unexpected

I picked this up in the interest of getting a dose of Fannish History (holy shit I can't believe a website published a (it brags) NYT bestseller about what happens in the last HP book), and it's exactly what it says on the tin. There was a little less history than I would have hoped, but the bits that did talk about the HP community were incredibly touching. The excitement, the fear of the last release party, the preemptive nostalgia, the love for the series- it's good.

A fun read years later; I missed the book craze so it's a cool look at the popular theories of the time. Some were right on point, some were completely wrong, a couple ideas would've been better than what we got and reading about some characters that were "almost guaranteed to live" made me sad all over again.

It's well-researched and thorough with both sides of a prediction (the "is Harry a Horcrux" is an especially good bit). My main complaint is the repetition and needless reference to other chapters (how many people are really skipping around instead of just reading the entire thing?).

Quite an interesting retrospective for the thoughtful Potter fan! I'm impressed by how much the authors got right about HP7, despite there being a few things they didn't see coming or about which they were misguided. The book is structured kind of like a literary analysis essay for Potters 1-6, so it's intriguing to watch the writers present their findings after mining the previous installments for clues as to the big twists in Deathly Hallows. The conversational, almost conspiratorial tone is a real plus, too. All in all, the book is a thoroughly enjoyable, good-natured work that will engage all but the most indifferent Potterhead - even now, years after Deathly Hallows' publication.

My grandma bought me this book before the Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows came out to tide me over... I read it back then, of course! I re-read it again recently, and it was fun to read what they got right or wrong in terms of predictions. One thing is for sure: the authors definitely go into great detail and analyze the series very well! I enjoyed reading it.

So the 7th book has already been published and I've read it a lot already. :p However, I really enjoyed visiting this book of predictions! Mugglenet KNOWS Harry Potter and it was apparent in their predictions and analysis of the clues so far. Their discussion of Pettigrew and Snape especially I was invested in. Their death predictions were so sad however in hindsight.

Very intriguing to look back on theories for what would happen in Deathly Hallows now that over a decade has passed. The theories behind Neville's memory troubles alone were so interesting, and something I hadn't put much thought into aside from him just being so unconfident and feeling so pressured by his grandmother/etc initially.
