Mike Dellosso is the author of numerous novels of suspense, including Kill Devil, Centralia, Darkness Follows, Darlington Woods, and Scream. Mike is a popular conference and workshop teacher and an adjunct professor of creative writing. He lives in Hanover, PA, with his wife and five daughters. Mike is also a healthcare worker and survivor of colon cancer.
I have said this before, you cannot go wrong with a Dellosso novel. This one reinforces that all over again. This to me is his best work.
While not as fast paced as others, the pace was enough to keep you coming back for more. His characterisation is as always very good. Dellosso has an uncanny knack of letting you into the character's minds, especially in this case the antagonist, Mitch Albright. Despite hating what he is doing, you feel his pain, understand what is causing this pain and his motive for murder and you sympathise with him. Does this put you on the side of this character? No, I find it encourages me to develop an attitude like Christ in that He hates the sin but loves the sinner! Dellosso has also portrayed this very nicely in the character of Clare Appleton who is fearless in not being intimidated by Mitch's violent, aggressive, and maleficent behaviour towards her and her husband Bob. Many times, Clare shows sympathy, understanding and even acceptance of Mitch as a person and looks past his behaviour and tries to appeal to his better side and get him to think about what he is doing and that it does not have to be like this. Does not Christ do the same to us? Gets us to think about our behaviour and give us an out: Himself! I loved this character. She is one of a kind.
I related to Amy and Jim Spencer. Amy in what she was experiencing in the aftermath of losing a child in utero and Jim in being the grieving father and to still support his also grieving wife. Having personally gone through this twice with my wife, I can say that Dellosso has captured enough of what this is like for a couple without it being too much to detract from the pace, plot, characterisation and overall thriller effect of the novel. I will always have a soft spot for Jim and Amy Spencer! Reading about Jim and Amy was in some respects myself and my wife in this novel!! Both Amy and Jim had to be fearless to confront their situation and learn to deal with this loss. Amy and Jim showed fearlessness also when Amy and Louisa were captured by Mitch and Jim in his attempts in protecting his family from Mitch and rescuing them from the burning house.
Dellosso shines in this novel with his portrayal of Louisa. Innocent, gentle, compassionate, mature beyond her age, great insight into the human spirit, a deep but simplistic faith in God (just like the Bible says our faith should be like: that of a child) but strong, fearless, and persistent throughout all she experienced. The sense of mystery surrounding Louisa's background, who she is, where she came from, her gift of healing and obedience, keeps you reading to find out all these answers. You cannot do anything else but sypathise and love her!
I cried at the end, not just because Dellosso tied up all the loose ends very nicely and appropriately, but because Jim and Amy found healing of their loss through Louisa, a renewed faith in God and finding out they were expecting another child. Again, I related well to this, as my wife and I had a similar ending: our ordeal twice in losing infants brought us closer together and to God and we were able to have 2 more children. For me this was beautiful ending.
This novel for all those reasons will have a special place in my heart. Out of all Dellosso's novels, this one is special to me.
This is one heck of a knock out thriller! I couldn't turn pages fast enough, read fast enough, no nails are left on my fingers, and I was "soooo on the edge of my seat" I almost plunged into the floor. This is one of the best books Ive read this year so far, Its in the top 3. I was cussing out loud at the characters, asking why are you doing that, why did you say that, watch out, your a moron. This read had me going.
It starts with a man who's house is on fire. In that fire, he almost dies but a child, an angel, the man isn't sure but she emerges in the smoke, lays her hand on his chest and tells him that it isn't time to die yet, that he has things he needs to do first. As the story progresses, the child stays in the town with a family who have hurts and problems of there own but she seems to bring healing and a "knowing" that she couldn't possibly have previously known. Where did this beautiful blond and blue eyed 9 year old child come from, with no memory of her past. People start turning up dead in gruesome ways throughout the story, who is doing this, and why? I cant say much more without giving out spoilers.
This is a must read. For people who love thrillers/ horror/ suspense/ Christian horror(yes, it exists) but if your expecting a preaching sermon or a gentle read your very wrong. The author doesn't hold any horror back, anybody can read this and LOVE it!
When I picked up this book I new the premise of it from the back cover, it was awesome. What a page turner it became, and loved the short chapters. You never saw what was going to happen next. Once you open the cover your hooked. Be ready for a great, suspenseful journey. We open the story with Jake trying to wake up, he can't breath...there is a fire. All of a sudden there is a little 9 year old girl there, telling him that all is ok. She even has his cat in her arms, he had been trying to find. Where had she come from?? A rather odd situation, a child out of no where. The Police Chief Doug Miller, wants what is best for the Child, and until we find out who she is. He has Jim and Amy Spencer take her. Now Jim takes to the child immediately, but Amy is still struggling with her grief of loosing her daughter, before she was born. What will it take for Amy to come around? Are they in danger from the events that circle this child? How about with the serial murders that are all of a sudden happening. You are going to be so surprised by the ending...it is a page turner. I loved it, and highly recommend you read it!
I received this book through First Wild Card Book Tours, and was not required to give a positive review.
This is one thrill packed book! It starts with a fire and the appearence of a 9 year-old-girl in the fire. The town of Virginia Mills is home to both miracles & serial murder at the same time! Not the typical who done it? We follow the strange life of Lousia as she is lead to pray for just certain people. Then we follow the killer under an assumed name of Mitch Albright as he takes over a retired couples nice farm.
Much of the book is written from the point of view of Jim Spencer a full time writer out of his home, who is dealing with his wife Amy who lost a daughter early preterm a few months ago. So its touch and go hosting the lost girl Lousia. But, we get a full and gruesome view from the killer's perspective. Life for Mitch is all about needing to find RESPECT to validate his life. We follow Mitch as he carves up eight victims, each with a letter from RESPECT in bloody detail.
We are kept in the dark about the killer until the very end. The climax involves most of the major players in this tail and the heart pounding suspense of the face off between Chief Doug Miller and fire victim Jake Tucker and the mysterious Mitch Albright..
She just appeared out of nowhere. First the fire was about to take Jake's life, the next she was kneeling down with him telling him things she couldn't possibly know. And where did she come from? Fire was all around them, but they were able to make it out alive. This young girl, Louisa, who appeared out of nowhere is headed temporarily to live with Jim and Amy Spencer. Jim and Amy have helped out in the past with temporary shelter, but this time it's a little different. Amy has just recently had a miscarriage and is finding it difficult to get past the hurt and move on. Upon meeting Louisa, she again tells Amy things that she shouldn't know and these things put Amy ill at east around her. One day on the playground, Louisa "prays" for a young girl with Multiple Sclerosis and the young girl is healed. Another time she "prays" for a young boys tumors and they disappear. As word get around about the "miracle worker", Jim and Amy close ranks around her to protect her. In the meantime, there's a killer on the loose. Bodies are turning up each day and the Police Chief is no closer to solving that case, then he is to finding out where Louisa came from. Does Louisa hold some kind of healing power? Can Amy let go of the hurt caused by her miscarriage? Will the killer be found before the next body is discovered? Who is this little girl and what is her story? If you think I'm going to give it away, FORGET IT! GO BUY THE BOOK!
I have read pretty much every book by Mr. Dellosso and I could venture to state a very obvious comment. He keeps getting better with each book that he writes. I truly enjoy reading an author over a span of several books to see their writing style evolve and improve. There's nothing worse to me than an author who found the "secret" novel once and keeps churning that same storyline out for 15 books thinking they still have it. I can tell you, if you read one of Mr. Dellosso's books, you will need to read them all because they are all so different. The twists and turns that he provided in this book kept me guessing as to how it would end and how everything would be connected. Just like a well-oiled machine, Mr. Dellosso has this book finely tuned and ready for anybody to pick up and enjoy.
Is this a guy's book? This is a quintessential guy's book. Mystery, adventure, murder you name it. If these are the elements of a great novel that you love to crack open, then this new novel by Mr. Dellosso is for you!
Thrillers are not my favorite genre. This isn’t to say I don’t read them on occasion and even find them worth recommending from time to time. I recommend this one to people who do read this genre because there is plenty of excitement to keep the story moving and interesting, but more importantly there is an underlying message that isn’t preached, but can be discerned if one listens for it.
Cute blue-eyed little girl, mysteriously appears to a dying man. No explanation as to where she came from or how she got there, but there she is and that is just the beginning of mysteries. Things happen when she is around, unexplained things.
Fearless is what I’d call a supernatural thriller. It has two characters that the book’s storyline rest upon. The cute blue-eyed little girl (Louisa) and the serial killer (Mitch). Since no one can explain how the girl came to be where she was, she is placed in the care of Jim and Amy to foster until her family can be found. They call her Louisa because that is the name she remembers. Just Louisa. Mitch is befriended by a Christian couple who try to heal the wounds he has carried for too long. Mitch has other ideas and looks for healing in his own way.
If you enjoy the thriller genre, then I believe you will want to read this book. If you are unwilling to read books that have multiple murders described with some detail, then you would be better reading something else like Mike’s book, ‘A Thousand Sleepless Nights which he wrote under the pen name Michael King.
This is another gripping novel from Mike Dellosso.
Unlike Mike's other thrillers this one took a little longer to warm up as the key characters are revealed in a deeper way. We meet Jim and Amy, a married couple recovering from personal trauma, Alicia who is being traumatised by her boyfriend Derek, a killer so desperate for respect he kills innocent people and in so doing earns it, and Louisa.
Louisa is very special. A nine-year old with no history appears out of the fire.
But who is she? Is she someone's daughter? Or is she an angel?
Once we're sitting comfortably, Mike does what he does so well: he takes us on a thrilling stomach-churning roller coaster ride that doesn't let up until the end. There is one chapter that is simply breathtaking in its edge-of-your seats terror. I was reading it with my hand in front of my face, racing to read on but anxious about what might occur. That's masterful storytelling.
Mike's bad guys are really bad. And this one is no exception. One interesting aspect of this story is 2 other characters at different stages are given a glimpse of the extent of the killer's capacity for evil. This increases the tension.
The innocence of Louisa and her faith are incredible reminders of Jesus' rebuke of his disciples regarding children. Mike takes the reader on a journey with each of the key characters as they battle their own demons. Some survive, some don't.
Another terrific thriller from a gifted craftsman.
Creepy, creepy, creepy are the best words I can think of to describe Mike Dellosso's FEARLESS!!! From the minute, Louisa comes into main characters Jim and Amy Spencer's lives, she creeped me out! Something's not quite right about this strange little girl, and MC Amy feels it too! Her handsome hubby, Jim accepts Louisa with open arms, quickly dismissing Amy's concerns. Soon, Louisa creates unrest among the people in the community, but the thrills really begin when Louisa feels a connection with a serial killer!!! Read it with the lights on!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Fans of Ted Dekker, Stephen King, Frank Peretti, and the like, don't miss FEARLESS!!!!
I am a big fan of Mike Dellosso and he certainly doesn't disappoint with his new thriller, Fearless. I was hooked on page 1. The suspense and mystery were great. I loved the characters and felt a part of the book, something that is important to me when I read. I will not go into details of the storyline as you can read that in the book description. I love how Mike Dellosso tells a story. Few authors can take you from evil at its worst to love at its best like he can.
This book grabbed me by the shirtfront & literally dragged me along for the ride. Well written & edited, the spinning of the tale from various viewpoints melded together culminating in a gripping finale. I'm not a religious person so the referencing to it did grate, but by the same token it wasn't shoved down your throat in an unbearable way. An excellent read!!
I have no idea what I just read. The ending didn’t make sense at all. Thinking this was a horror book, I was super excited to read it. Come to find out, it’s Christian fiction. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy Christian fiction. But I was deeply misled by the description of this book.
This is the 2nd book I read from Dellosso. All I can say is I cannot wait to pick up another book from him. This book was a page turner! The ending was 😲🙆♀️👏Recommend this book!
This book was amazingly written. The first chapter was a bit for me to get into but after that it took off and was a roller coaster ride. I couldn’t put it down. Well done.
"Suddenly he felt a presence there with him and opened his eyes. A face materialized out of the smoke, hovered over him. Small, soft, white...the face of an angel. Blue eyes that seemed to glow from their own light. Hair the color of flax and pulled back off her face. A girl. A young girl, just a child. She smiled at him and placed her hand on his chest. Her smile was sweet and innocent, the smile of a child who's never known the worst of this world. Oddly, in the midst of such chaos, such hellfire, she showed no signs of fear."
From the very first paragraph, Fearless starts out in a sprint and doesn't slacken pace for the entire book. With elements of the paranormal, suspense, mystery, and intrigue, the action keeps the reader guessing every step of the way. Once I started reading, I found it difficult to put the book down.
First a fire, then the mysterious appearance of a little girl out of the blue. Her name is Louisa, but she can't remember her last name, who she is or where she is from, but her appearance saved Jake from the fire. While investigation to find her family draws a blank, the police chief places Louisa with Jim and Amy, foster parents who are still grieving the loss of their own unborn daughter. Her presence brings mixed reactions from the couple. Amy has reservations, but Jim wants the diversion.
A serial killer is loose in the little village of Virginia Mills. There seems to be no motive, no evidence or clues, and no reason to the killings. Alicia was in a dead end relationship and lying to herself that her boyfriend loves her. She wants to end it all, until the day she talks with Louisa, the little girl who saved Jake's life. One touch from her hand and Alicia feels renewed.
Jim takes Louisa around town hoping that something will help trigger some memories, giving them some clues to her identity. One of the stops is the elementary school playground where the children from the school are playing. She seems to blend in and fit well. When she spots a girl in a wheelchair, she stops to talk with her. Jim doesn't take much notice until he sees the wheelchair bound girl actually get up and take a few tentative steps. Louisa said all she did was pray for the girl.
Nearby on a remote farm, an older couple lives contentedly until a man disturbs their peace and takes them captive in their own home. He talks of a purpose but none of it makes sense to them. He builds a cage down in the basement and locks them up like animals until he done doing...what?
These seemingly unrelated events overlap with a few common threads between them, but are so obscure they keep the reader puzzling over them until the final chapters begin to coalesce.
What I find unique about this book and the events unfolding before us is the way the author creates an atmosphere of unease. The reader is kept off kilter first by the eerie awareness Louisa seems to possess whenever she comes in contact with people. She seems to look into their very souls and discerns what others either can't or won't understand. Her faith in God is simple and pure, and seems to put others off. Like the old black and white television mysteries of the 1940's where most of the suspense is in the imaginations and anticipations of the viewers, people read into it mystique and almost diabolical intent that's simply not there.
Secondly, the author takes a different tack and relates the operations of the serial killer from the point of view of the killer himself. The reader becomes privy to his distorted reasoning and preparations. The darkness surrounding him becomes part of the eerie atmosphere of the entire book. It was one of the reasons why I found the book so hard to put down even when I really needed to.
I found some of the descriptions of the killings disturbing. I'm not so sure I can justify the detail, although the details do serve as a clue to the identity of the killer, which is kept a secret until the very end. If you find that type of violence uncomfortable, then I do not recommend this book for you. However, overall, the writing style is exceptional, fast paced, and alluring. He makes the combination of paranormal, suspense and mystery work through excellent storytelling. I am curious to see if other books he writes are as compelling as this one is.

From mystery/thriller author, Mike Dellosso, comes his newest book, Fearless! It’s the story of one little girl, Louisa, who is fearless in the midst of evil. When she prays, people are healed–at least most. She first appears in the midst of Jake Tucker’s fire, which was almost done in by a pot of eggs.
With no knowledge of who she is and where she is from, Doug Miller, the local Chief of Police, ask Jim and Amy Spencer to take Louisa in until they find out who she is and where she belongs. Though they have been foster parents for years, Amy and Jim are reeling over the miscarriage of their baby. Amy is mostly spooked by the little girl’s actions, but Jim has taken a fatherly liking to her, which endears him to me. She seems to be the daughter they lost.
After Louisa prays for and heals different children, the town’s people all want healing. That opens the door to wreak havoc with the Spencer’s in more ways than one. You will find that people aren’t always who they appear to be.
To up the ante in his book, the town of Virginia Mills has a serial killer on their hands. The police have no clues, no evidence and no idea who the perpetrator is. There are few common denominators amongst the victims. The murders happen once a day for seven days in a row. The police are stymied.
Mike’s unique style of supernatural thrillers comes alive one more time in Fearless. His use of metaphors opens your eyes to comprehend situations in a broader, more vivid view. He touches on several issues that intertwine throughout the story–domestic abuse, revenge, murder, miscarriage, childhood abuse, miracle healings, faith, and respect. Mike’s superb writing interweaves all these issues and more throughout the chapters and keeps you on the edge of your seat, trying to help the individuals that are being targeted. But you are helpless, as are most of the victims!
If you love thrillers, you will enjoy this book! It will intrigue you and set you on edge from page one to the very end. But do be aware, there are gruesome scenes that may be disturbing.

Jim and Amy Spencer are at the end of their rope. After 15 years of marriage, they finally conceive a child. But when that baby dies all hope is lost for the struggling couple. Amy walks around the house like a ghost, dreaming of what could have been and refusing to face reality. Jim is a supportive husband, cooking, cleaning, doing groceries, and whatever else he has to do to keep their family of two together. But nothing he says or does can bring back the child Amy so desperately wanted.
When a house fire results in a mysterious little girl called Louisa being displaced, Jim instantly agrees to take her into their home. He desperately hopes it will help Amy heal from the past and encourage her to look towards the future. But Amy does not trust the nine-year-old girl with haunting blue eyes, and she is uncomfortable with the special gift the girl possesses. But when Louisa comes in contact with the serial killer that's been stalking their small town of Virginia Hills, everything suddenly changes. Is it too late to save the family Louisa has come to love? And what is the fate of her own family that she simply cannot remember?
All I can say is "wow". What a ride this book was. Dellosso puts you right in the middle of the action from the very first page, and doesn't let go till the end. While I kept trying to guess what was going on, the characters were ever-changing and learning and becoming different people. The pieces of the puzzle fell into place with such a convincing plot you can almost be persuaded it is real. A fantastic setting with characters as large as life, Fearless is not to be missed.

After taking a break from his usual genre' of writing to write a story about cancer and its affect on a family, Mike is to write what he does best: thriller/suspense. That isn't to say his other book wasn't good. It was, but he excells at this genre'.
Much of what Mike writes could be classifed as Christian horror/thriller/suspense, with some supernatural elements. I would classify this book as just thriller/suspense with some unexplained/supernatural elements.
As with any of his books, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Fearless. He created some great characters, good and bad, and worked a great plot around them that kept me guessing. For most of the book, it seemed like there were two stories going on, and I knew they were connected, but I didn't know how. The book had more than one twist and turn that I didn't see coming, especially who the bad guy was. There was something that I kept wondering about, and I won't say what as to prevent spoilers, but it all made sense in the end.
Mike is another author who isn't afraid to work a Christian message into his book, and this one was no exception. The message in this one was a message that would be good for all of us: Never lose faith in God. Even in the bad times, He is still there and can work things out.
I had put reading the book off til close to the release date, and once I started reading it, I kept at it until I was finished, and though not everything was explained, I was left with that feeling when I finish a great book. Satisfied.
In his sixth book of the genre, Mike Dellosso delivers another suspenseful story that will haunt you until the end. With a brief tug at your imagination, Dellosso pulls you into a story that will leave you wondering—was that really just a story?
There is something about this nine-year-old girl named Louisa. She most probably saved Jake Tucker’s life, but she just appeared out of nowhere. She couldn’t remember her last name or her parents or nothing of any value that would have helped anyone find out who she was, but she was in Virginia Mills for a reason.
Some say she has a gift—to heal, to know, to say the right things. Others call her an angel sent from God to save them. Nevertheless, Louisa becomes the town hero. Jim and Amy Spencer have just suffered the loss of their unborn child. Amy is still locked in depression. Jim is struggling to move on while at the same time trying to comfort his wife.
When Louisa comes into their lives, Jim is accepting while Amy is reluctant, hesitant, scared. When a serial killer comes to town and they suddenly become targets, Jim and Amy fight to keep Louisa safe, but does Louisa know something they don’t?

Fearless, by Mike Dellosso, is a Christian mystery/thriller in the vein of Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker. It starts of a little bit slow, allowing the reader some time to get to know the characters, and it follows three primary story lines. The book is 286 pages long, and it took me quite a few of them to feel like I had a firm handle on those plot lines. The action takes place in plot #1, which follows the movements and rationalizations of a serial killer, while the emotional and developmental part of the book occurs in plot #2, where a mysterious little girl appears in a burning house and continues to surprise everyone from then until the end of the book. Plot #3 follows a woman with an abusive live-in boyfriend. These stories seem entirely unconnected, but Dellosso’s talent shows in the skill with which he manages to weave them all together.
Dellosso’s writing is engaging and easy to read, making this a great book for someone who doesn’t have a large chunk of time to sit and read but instead reads in spurts in the doctor’s office or on the bus. The story is a bit slow, however, until about halfway through, and picks up considerably towards the end. The characters are believable and round; due to the nature of the genre they each harbor specific emotional and/or spiritual wounds. Sometimes the way these wounds or the characters thoughts about them are described feels repetitive. All in all, this isn’t great literature but it doesn’t claim to be! It is a good, fun book that is great for summer reading. It’s worth putting on your list!
Mike Dellosso is an excellent author and will keep you spell bound until you finish reading Fearless. I love suspenseful novels and this one is one of the better ones. It teaches us that God can use anyone no matter their age or intelligence. I love to try to guess who the villain is in each book I read and usually can, but not with Fearless. I was very surprised at the ending. Like it says on the back cover of Fearless “A child mysteriously appears in the lives of Jim and Amy Spencer. Will her presence be a blessing or a curse? I really enjoyed reading Fearless, but wouldn’t read it to close to going to sleep. It has some parts that are a little spooky, but I loved them. I like how one person can change so many lives and make such a difference in the world. We are all important and make a difference in the world. We have to decide if the difference we make is for good or evil. If you love mysteries and very suspenseful books this one you will love. Fearless is one of my favorite books for 2013. I highly recommend it.

This is Christian Fiction - and I've not spent much time reading fiction marketed specifically to a Christian audience. I do not often read the scary-genre of fiction -- although when we have a heat wave I enjoy reading scary novels. When I'm scared I get cold, which is refreshing during the heat wave. The story moves quickly, is well written, and has interestingly crafted characters. The evil character is fully evil but without the graphic or pornographic nature of some secular-scary-fiction. And the author does help us glimpse into the soul of the bad-guy, so we have a sense of what twisted life journey may have created the guy. (In some secular dark novel, there's a sense that evil just happens, not that it is created or a choice away from goodness.) Characters are balanced - not all saintly, struggling with life's challenges, and benefiting from the interest of friends, and the love of God (one's love of God, God's love for us). What I liked in reading this book was the chance to understand my own faith journey in some new ways. If you've never tried Christian fiction, this is a gentle and worthy introduction.
A child turns up in the middle of a fire and saves an old man. No one knows who this child is and the child remembers nothing of where she came from or who she is. She seems, however, to have a healing hand and a 'knowing' of things she shouldn't.
Taken in by a couple who have recently lost their own baby, her presence causes happiness and sadness. Is her presence a blessing in disguise ... or is it a curse.
A killer is on the loose in their small town... a killer who fears the child will recognize him for what he really is .. a monster.
Characters were well-written. The mystery portion wasn't bad, but just a tad predictable. It seems to be more a story about believing in God.
I gave it 4 stars because it was interesting enough to keep reading .... not sure about reading any of his others.
After reading this book (in regards to the girl) & then reflecting back on some of Mike's other books (The Hunted, Darkness Follows, Darlington Woods)...I realized that I really like that supernatural & strange things happen in his stories, but he doesn't necessarily go back & explain them or wrap them up all nice & perdy. I think if he did, it would take away somehow. He could come up with an explanation, but it would almost be disappointing, so I appreciate that he doesn't try to go back & give an earthly scientific account of what or how something happened.
This is a great novel of suspense. It kept me reading to the end. This is not a cozy mystery. Evil invades a community, throats are slashed, and the last fifty pages or so, are nail bitingly suspenseful. For spiritual warfare fiction, this one is a winner. You'll also find the theme of trusting God when all does not go the way you want. See my full review at .
Good read, though likely my least favorite of Dellosso's. It felt almost like a standard, generic serial killer book with a touch of heart-tugging family drama. Maybe I've read too many similar stories, but it seemed to lack the zip of some of his previous works. I enjoyed it nonetheless, but had it figured out about halfway through, and wish it had kept me off balance longer.
Loved this book. Moves right along and keeps you engaged. He jumps from one person to the next - in different chapters - which I don't normally like, but in this case I did. It was done very well. I met Mike a few weeks ago at a conference and am excited to read more of his work!
I've enjoyed all of Mike Dellosso's books. I thought I had this one all figured out, but there were some surprises that I didn't see coming. Not as edge of the seat as I was hoping for, but still a good book
An excellent read in so many ways--fine writing, good plotting, suspense and tension, with a certain spiritual ambiguity that requires the reader to think deeply about the child's identity. It's not light reading but serves as a teaching template for aspiring writers.
Very disappointing. The best features of this book were the cover and the ending. In my opinion it was sloppily thrown together. I literally had to force myself to finish it!
