A story about best friend secretly in love <3 What can be better than that <3
Well, a story about best friends in love trapped in a snow storm trying to get warm (ehehehehe) and realizing how they felt for each other <3

The story
Kyler and Sydney have been best friends ever since they were kids, and secretly in love with each other ever since they were teenagers.
They get trapped in a house at the ski-resort during a snow storm, which forces them to spend time with each other, and to admit to their feelings.
I've kept the story thing short cause honestly, you don't need to know anything more before you start this book, and second point, nothing much happens in it anyway ahhahh :DDD
Sydney
She's been in love with Kyler forever, and it's getting more difficult seeing him over and over again with his string of one night stands.
When she's forced to spend time alone with him, she can't deny how she feels anymore...
How I liked her...
Difficult to describe because on one hand, I felt really bad for her every time there was a misunderstanding between them, one scene made me cry :(((
But on the other hand, it could all be avoided if she only used a bit of her brain instead of jumping to conclusions :(((
Kyler
He's been in love with Sidney forever, always thinking he's not good enough for her :(((
But then, for him, no one is good enough for Sidney :D
When they get trapped during the storm, he'll find that he can't fight his attraction...
How I loved him...
Easy to describe cause I loved him a lot <3
Gosh, he is just amazing and I love every chapter from his POV <3
He is uber-swoony, the things he says <3 OMG! But then as a guy, he's a bit thick in the head and does the wrong thing sometimes :((
But I don't care, I still loved him :)))
The sex
It has to be mentioned cause this is NA and not every book is the same regarding the sexy times, but this one... very very hot :)
They are both 21, in case you're wondering so it isn't icky to read bwahhahha
The "education" scene, oh my. Very nice :D
And even though the one against the window was all wrong, it was still uber hot.
So for those of you who like a bit hotter NA, this will be PERFECT :)
Overall
The writing - LOVED the dual POV, and I mean LOVED! It was
amazing to see both sides, especially his *sigh*, and especially in the sex scenes bwahahahahhah
The characters - There are two other characters introduced that I'm betting will have a book of their own in this series. Me likey.
Something about Kyler and Sydney... the thing that bothered me most here and why it's a 4 star rating is the constant misunderstandings and jumping to conclusions :(
I don't like that in any scenario, well Ok a few times but through all the book?
I don't think they had a convo that didn't somehow end up totally misinterpreted. Oh well.
Other than that they were both pretty great, especially Kyler <3
The romance - uber swoony and sometimes just sweet, but not yucky sweet that makes you want to throw up :) The one where you go all mushy and gooey (like the heroine here did often ahahahhaha)
The angst - For those of you who are used to uber-angst, you probably won't find it here, but me? I don't read angsty and this WAS angsty to me, so I am happy with myself and the fact that I handled it and I didn't mind it at all :))))
The first half of the book was amazing, simply brilliant, 10 star material, but near the end something happened that just lowered my enthusiasm I guess, nothing bad but I wished it stayed the pace it had from the beginning :))
In the end, I recommend this book to everyone because it really was so lovely, wonderfully romantic, too damn hot, and just an easy read <3
PS: This book does not have a cliffy or anything of the sort,the ending is wonderful <3

I can't believe this book. It was so, what's the word? Awful?
I know it's Jennifer Armentrout we're talking about but sadly all of her books (except Covenant Series) have the same bland characters. I remember lusting over Daemon when Obsidian first came out but now I just can't remember why. Most people, who obsessively read new adult novels will love her every book but I just wish it had more substance. Something other than a girl with self-esteem issues, a guy who has abs to die for and a mile long peen. It's getting pretty old and the sex scenes weren't that interesting because I felt like I read them in another NA novel. Why doesn't anyone write a book about a nerdy guy and a freaky girl getting stuck together on a project or something? I don't know, something like that. Why do they always have to be hot, supermodels?
Sorry for rambling. The reason I didn't like Frigid, aside from the obvious one- repetitive type of characters, it was hard for me to see these two pining over each other for years. Sure, they mention how they hated seeing the other person with someone else but I didn't felt it. And then you have the forever speech in the end. How can they think they will be unbreakable after they only spend a couple of days doing it? Please, I don't believe for a second they will be together forever. We don't live in a fairy tale. This is real life and people break up for over the smallest thing. I'm not a pessimist but a realist.
I need to prepare my shield because Armentrout' fangirls are going to come for me.

VERY LOW 4 stars!!! BUT I still loved SOOO much about this book!
Frigid is NOT my favorite book by this very talented authors, and as much as I loved it, I did have a few issues. The constant misunderstandings and lack of communication throughout this WHOLE friends-to-lovers trope became tedious and tiring after awhile. And even though I liked both of the main characters, Kyler's voracious man-whoring ways was more of a turn OFF for me, NOT a turn on. I still fell in love with him but he was no Cam, Daemon, or Hunter! As for Sydney, my heart ached for her throughout most of this story. I found her character endearing and sweet but her constant lamenting and pining over her feelings for Kyler bordered on the pathetic and made her out to be somewhat of a doormat and a pessimists where he was concerned.
All that said, I very much enjoyed reading this story. I was captivated, enthralled, and drawn in by this couple's complex and endearing friendship. These two very human and charming characters have been in love with each other for years, and I couldn't get enough of their witty dialogue, complicated feeling, and off-the-charts chemistry. They brought this story to life for me and I stayed up most of the night reading their imperfectly perfect LOVE story. Other than a few hiccups, everything about this book is what I love in a good romance.
Frigid is a charming, fun, well written, and steamy friends-to-lovers story. The happy for now ending was AMAZING! It left me feeling giddy, dreamy, and with a HUGE smile on my face.
J Lynn/Jennifer L Armentrout is one of my FAVORITE authors and I highly recommend this book.

First of all , I can’t believe that I'm rating a J.L. Armetrout book with 4 stars.
It wasnt bad BUT Sydney was frustrating most of the times.
Secondly, shirtless guys should be banned.
Ohh WTH am I talking about?
The story:
Kyler and Syd grew up together. They had known each other since they were kids and they were best friends. Now that they have both grown up things and feelings have changed. They are afraid to face or admit the truth but these two liked each other for a long time.
Kyler is your typical player type and definitely off limits to Syd .On the other hand Syd hates messing around with guys because that's not her character. An annual trip to his mum's house will bring them closer.
Since their friends won’t make it there due to the storm, they have to stay alone. Syd's mind is going cray-cray and she starts showing her feelings. Things are awkward, actually too awkward but Kyler deals with them as he should and that's why I liked him.
The story is not limited only to the showing your feelings part. This couple is being sabotaged by someone. In the beginning nothing seems serious as it was expected to lose power but then it was obvious that someone was messing up with them.
Kyler : I liked him a lot. He was the definition of a manwhore but like all men he hadn't found someone who will care about. As soon as he realized that Syd was in love with him he started understanding his own feelings towards her too. Syd has a weird way of showing that she loves him but he doesn't want to treat her like some kind of a cheap date and that's one of his qualifications .Kyler always respected the females and Syd is not different. I loved the fact that he tried hard to gain her but the truth is that he never lost her.
Syd :She is the reason I'm rating this book with 4 stars. Ok I liked her but there were some moments that she needed some serious slapping.
I definitely get it when she is mad at him because he is fucking around. What I don’t understand is the fact that she was doubting him.
"What had he meant by that? Was he not planning to break the habit because he was still planning on sleeping around?"
Seriously??
I thought that she was sometimes acting like a child which bothered me a lot but thank God Kyler was there to save these annoying moments.
Overall : I enjoyed it a lot . It was a funny and an enjoyable book . Truth to be told it's not one of her best books but it wasn't disappointing either . I really liked the fact that Kyler wasn't the human version of Daemon Black , like Cam , but even if he was I would have still enjoyed it a lot.
This is forever.

Okay, I CANNOT wait for this book. I wanna read it so bad. Plus, it's by JLA. That means there's a 100% chance I'm gonna love it to death.

Ahhh, this cover's going to be great, and then the book is going to be even greater, and this is just going to be AWESOME.

A teaser!! Oh. My. Gosh.
Strong arms wrapped around my waist from behind. I was pulled off the stool and my surprised shriek was cut off when my back hit an immoveable wall of muscle. I was enveloped in a bear hug that smelled of the outdoors and light cologne.
Only one person in this world gave me hugs like this or felt that hard� that good. Kyler’s deep voice rumbled through my body. “When did you get here?�
My feet still weren’t touching the floor. “A little bit ago,� I gasped out, gripping his forearms through his sweater.
“What the hell? Have you been hiding from me?�
Paul leaned back against the bar and grinned, but it was strained. Not that I could blame him. Kyler kind of always busted in and took over every situation. “I haven’t been hiding,� I told him, flushing when my eyes met Paul’s. “And can you put me down?�
“What if I don’t?� he teased. “You’re so little I could put you in my pocket.� “What?� I laughed. “Put me down, you idiot. I was having a conversation.�
“Sorry, Paul, I’m stealing her.� Kyler backed away, giving me no choice, because there was no way I was breaking his hold. He turned, dropping into a chair nowhere near the table he’d been at, pulling me into his lap so I was sitting sideways. He looped his arms around my waist. “I’m not happy with you, Syd.�
I arched a brow as my heart rate picked up. He was the only person who called me Syd; the only person I let call me that without kicking them in the shin. “Really? Over what?�
“You’re talking to that douche.�
“What douche?�
He leaned in, resting his forehead against mine, and my breath stalled in my chest. Why must he always get so damn close? And he really, truly, always did. “Paul.�
“What about him?� I put my hands on his shoulders to push back, but his arms tightened, holding me in place. “Are you drunk?�
“Am I drunk? Aw, now you’ve gone and hurt my feelings, Syd.�
I smirked. “You don’t have any feelings.�
“Now. Now. That wasn’t very nice.� His impossibly long lashes lowered, shielding his eyes as he lifted his head, rubbing his cheek along mine. My fingers dug into his shoulders as desire twisted tight in my center. “I have all these feels, Syd.�
It took me a moment to respond. “You’re so full of it.�
He rubbed his cheek against me like a cat seeking a belly rub, and I fought the urge to purr. “I’m full of something.�
“Piss and vinegar?� I suggested as I desperately tried to ignore the way my pulse pounded in all the right places.�
He chuckled deep in his throat as he leaned back against the seat he took hostage. “Back to the serious nature of our conversation.�
“Which is: why are you playing Santa right now?�
Kyler’s lashes lifted and his eyes drilled into mine. “Hmm, now that sounds interesting. Have you’ve been naughty or nice this year, Syd?�
I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. My cheeks burned as his gaze turned knowing. “I know what you’ve been.� He kissed my forehead. “You’ve been nice.�
My shoulders slumped. I didn’t want to be nice. I wanted to be naughty like Blondie. When she’d been in his lap minutes before, I doubted Kyler had been teasing her.
Maybe I should scoop some ice up and see what he did, except that would require me doing so out of a random glass and that was just gross.
Um. Did you just read that. DID YOU? It. Is. So. Amazing.
"I have all these feels, Syd." HA. That got me.

And it’s not just the way this woman can write a sex scene that makes her writing so electric� it’s the way she architects her characters. Sydney, for example, is so damn relatable and Kyler is so damn� SEXY! And it’s the chemistry she creates between these two that’s going to have you at the complete mercy of this book.

The beginning of 'Frigid' definitely grabbed my attention, I was interested in how the story would play out and I was hooked with the characters from the start. I make it no secret that I love a friends who love each other/unrequited love themed story, in fact it's my favourite of all types of romance and the connection between Kyler and Sydney was heart melting. 'Frigid' certainly didn't live up to its title the connection and tension had me sitting up and taking notice, J Lynn knows how to write HOT, it might be a snow themed story but that was the only cold thing about it. This sweet story ticked all my 'loved up' boxes and I hand on heart enjoyed this book thoroughly, overall it left me with a respectable four plus star feeling.
Final thoughts ...
This story left me with a huge smile on my face, and although I rated it 4 stars there were more than a few glimpses of a 5 star story. Fans of this author or readers who enjoy a friends to lovers entertaining story should definitely try this out. A quick, sweet and at time blush-worthy romance, enjoy readers ... Go get your Kyler fix.

Being in love with your best friend is rough, especially when the feelings are one sided.
I was Kyler’s best friend. And because of that, he would never love me the way I loved him.
Sydney has loved Kyler for as long as she can remember. They have been best friends since they were children. Kyler is a bit of a player (understatement ;) and Syd knows he doesn’t see her that way. She won’t risk their friendship by letting him know how she feels. Even though it hurts seeing him with girl after girl.
Kyler remembers when he and Sydney first became friends. He was just the boy from the trailer park, and Sydney saw past that, saw the real him. He has always cared for her. Syd is different than any other girl. She is special. She is too good for any guy, especially him. Any feelings he has for her, he covers up by being with random girls.
It’s their senior year of college, and it’s winter break. Syd and Kyler are going to the ski resort like always. A huge snow storm hits. They get stranded there. Alone. While stuck alone, Kyler and Sydney are forced to deal with these feelings they have for each other.
Kyler was AMAZING- oh so sexy, swoony and just yummy. I like Syd’s description of him...
Kyler had some of the best quotes. He was charming, and endearing. I loved reading from his pov. I felt for Sydney. Unrequited love is the worst. She was sweet and funny at times. And OMG the heat between these two- WOW.
Can I say ‘The Education� scene. Those of you who have read this know exactly what I’m talking about, and if you haven’t it’s something to look forward to.

I just love it. And it’s written by the fabulous J.Lynn/Jennifer Arementrout who couldn’t write a bad book if she tried. This wasn’t my favorite book of hers, but I really enjoyed it. Sweet, sexy, steamy, a small amount of suspense, and a little angsty. There is some definite miscommunication going on, which was frustrating at times. The ending was wonderful. I give it 4.5 stars! A must read for NA lovers and JLA fans!

What a wonderful, unexpected breath of fresh air! I've had such a hard time with the New Adult genre lately. Too much DRAMA, too much ANGST, too many OVERREACTIONS and too many UNREALISTIC situations. If I wanted to hear about that kind of thing, I'd go ask my ten year old about the gossip going on in her fifth grade classroom. There would be many, many BFFs crushing on the same cute boy and loads of OMG moments followed by mean girls ROTFL.
Fortunately, that was not the case here. Sydney and Kyler's story felt realistic and heartwarming, just angsty enough to make my tummy clench, and ri-dic-u-lously hot sexy times without any form of BDSM theme to be found. This was truly a New Adult novel to sink into, and I did. I read it in one sitting, staying up late long after my eyes wanted to close.
Sydney and Kyler have been friends since they were six years old, back when friendship was built on simple affection. Kyler was the poor new kid in town, Sydney the sweet little girl in class. The years have gone by and they remained extremely close. Each of them secretly feels affection for the other, and not just the love of a friend. But Kyler's womanizing ways have led Sydney to feel inferior and not up to his standards. A girl's mind is an odd place to be, isn't it? Because Ryan feels exactly the opposite as she thinks he does. He's never felt good enough for her.

She's ready to move on from him, ready to find her own kind of happy and stop pining over a man that will only ever be her friend.
When their group of friends heads to Kyler's family winter home on the ski slopes, they don't plan to be stuck in a wild blizzard for the entire week. But the friends get stuck on the road and have to turn back, forcing the reluctant lovebirds to spend a tension filled week alone together, with their feelings finally brought to the surface.
I felt so bad for Sydney, because she tries to be brave and let Kyler know how she feels. But everything comes out wrong, and Kyler completely misunderstands what she wants from him. He just can't fathom that she loves him like he loves her, because he's set her so far above every other girl. Not to mention that he's seen how it disappoints her to see the girls go in and out of his revolving bedroom door. He is his own worst enemy...

For those of you sick of the man whore, I have to say that I actually completely forgave Kyler for his ways. He was so repentant and so down on himself. His character kind of reminded me of the promiscuous girl that we all knew in high school, sleeping around and looking for love...not realizing that they were hooching their way into loneliness. I felt bad for him.
Their feelings inevitably come to light, and sweetness and hotness ensues. I simply loved how their relationship progressed after the big revelation. The author adds a little bit of humor, more sensuality than sexuality, but still with an unexpectedly high level of steam. I was so impressed with this book, and although I'd held off on reading this author because of her obnoxious bent toward awful cliffhangers and unfinished stories, this was a fully told romance with a very definite end.

Okay, I know I’m biased because I pretty much love everything that Jennifer Armentrout writes. But I’ve got to say that I loved this. Every second of it.
So, Kyler and Sydney are best friends since they were kids.
Sydney is a little uptight good girl that’s in love with Kyler since forever. But she knows Kyler doesn’t do the commitment thing: He sees, he does, and he leaves. And she knows that he will never see more in her that a best friend.
So for years she suffers, watching him with a different girl every night and knowing that she will never one of them, let along be the one who stays there all the nights.
Kyler had a rough past and that made him not having the best idea about himself.
He’s in love with Sydney for years but he doesn’t even know why she wants to be friends with him, so why she would want to be more?
He doesn’t believe he deserves her so he searches for something to feel that void in other girls. Too bad that void is never filled.
But when they are stuck alone and together in the middle of a snowstorm, the pressure begins to rise and the stakes are getting higher.
And when things start to get unraveled, their relationship will reach a point that they’ll never be able to go back from. And they have to know what to do with that.
I loved this book. (I know, I’m repeating myself!)
I love their relationship and how it developed. Although annoying me a little, I also liked Sydney a lot. But meh, the female protagonists normally annoy me, so that’s okay.
I definitely loved Kyler. He is sweet, and cocky and extremely sexy.

The book isn't that great.
ANOTHER book based on lack of communication between two people who love each other.
A totally used plot..
The characters seemed very immature; personality wise. They didn't seem like they were 21.
The twist was so predictable.
I expected a lot more seeing as all my friends gave this book 4 and 5 stars.

Friends to lovers i oczywiście typowy fuck boy, co każdą laskę na kampusie zaliczył i jego grzeczna przyjaciółka z dzieciństwa co nie pije, dobrze się uczy i nie imprezuje. Nie możemy pominąć też „jestem taka malutka, a on taki duży i męski i ma taki umięśniony brzuch omg� powtórzone ze 100 razy.
Oczywiście oboje są w sobie zakochani ale jak ona do niego wzdycha, tak ten zalicza każdą laskę żeby zapomnieć (?), bo ona zasługuje na więcej (no też tak uważam, ale cóż).
Bleh, ten typ jest mocno średni lekko mówiąc.
A ta cała sytuacja po śnieżycy? Kurwa zostawił ją w tym domu wiedząc że nie jest bezpieczenie i jeszcze zamiast NATYCHMIAST wracać to jeszcze zgodził się pomóc innej typiarze. Wtf, po tych sytuacjach? Po strzale w okno? Po tym jak ktoś wam kable poprzecinał??? No kurwa.
To nie miało sensu, jest tak tylko dlatego, że autorka nie potrafiła wymyślić nic lepszego.

Not terrible, but very simplistic, predictable, and one-dimensional without enough depth or complexity to be truly memorable. Also the main love interest's entire character revolves around him being a "player", and thus he felt rather one-dimensional and unlikable as a result.

Para ser un libro de Jennifer es cierto que esperaba más, pero tampoco ha sido tan malo como estaba leyendo que era. Puede que ya fuera preparada por haber leído ciertas críticas y eso hiciera que pudiera disfrutarlo más.
Como el hielo es una historia fresca, sencilla y sin más pretensión que la de entretener. Es un libro de menos de 250 páginas y se lee muy rápido. También es bastante adictivo. Me encantan los libros donde los protagonista tienen un tira y afloja entre ellos.
La trama es bastante típica y bastante cliché, y por supuesto, es predecible, pero eso no ha hecho que haya podido disfrutar de la historia.
Si le tengo que poner un pero es el protagonista masculino. A ver, es el típico protagonista del año 2014, el típico chico malo y sobreprotector. Me sigue encantando como escribe Jennifer, aunque se nota que esta novela no es la más trabajada, pero vamos, es lo normal. La escribió hace 5 años y los que somos fans de esta autora, sabemos cuánto ha evolucionado hasta ahora.
Para mí ha merecido la pena, no va a quedarse en mi corazón ni me ha marcado de ninguna forma, pero ha sido todo lo que buscaba.
Como el hielo es una historia fresca, sencilla y sin más pretensión que la de entretener. Es un libro de menos de 250 páginas y se lee muy rápido. También es bastante adictivo. Me encantan los libros donde los protagonista tienen un tira y afloja entre ellos.
La trama es bastante típica y bastante cliché, y por supuesto, es predecible, pero eso no ha hecho que haya podido disfrutar de la historia.
Si le tengo que poner un pero es el protagonista masculino. A ver, es el típico protagonista del año 2014, el típico chico malo y sobreprotector. I wish I could rewind time and change my decision to clean out my kindle by reading unfinished books. I wish my past self had deleted this from my cloud so I would not end up wasting my time suffering through this from the very beginning. I’m seriously rethinking my cleaning project.
First off, the whole premise is misleading.
What we are promised: a charming romance with friends to lovers.
What we get: an endless string of miscommunications, stupidity, clichés, cringy inner monologues, and a lot of drama.
Let’s start at the beginning: I really didn’t get the relationship between Kyler and Sidney. So they have been best friends since they were kids. Ok, I’ll buy that. But that doesn’t explain why they basically behaved like boyfriend and girlfriend (including the PDA and asinine fights) � minus the sex. Tyler is just OUTSOURCING THE SEX. And color me surprised, he is outsourcing it to a string of slutty girls. Of course it’s such a chore for the poor man-whore.
Sidney, however, is the Virgin Mary:
What is she? A piece of clothing? I am so over those guys who sleep with anyone willing and see these girls as “used� but secretly yearn for the girls who are more “pristine�? Hypocrite much? It’s clearly not bad that he is a man-whore who can’t even remember the girls he slept with when he at least feels bad about his whoring ways. And that also leads to the fact that he feels he doesn’t deserve Sidney:
Why, you ask? I honestly couldn’t tell you.
It was also really obvious that Kyler was in love with Sid from the beginning of the book (his jealousy and tendency to scare away any potential dates were a huge tip-off) so that got reeeaally old reeeaaally fast; that and Sid lusting over Kyler on every frickin� page because his abs (which he got from running � sure 🙄), his muscles, his ass and did I mention his abs?
Overall, the reasons why they were friends for so long despite their feelings for one another were not explained satisfyingly to justify the entire friends-to-lovers premise of this book � at least to me. This made me want to tear my hair out.
Also, why are both characters just plain stupid?
Exhibit A: Sid gets drunk and jumps Kyler‘s bones. He puts a stop to it and later when she asks why he did, he says “I wasn’t that drunk.� Cue: tears and a freak-out ('He rejected-me. Wah wah.') In Kyler‘s inner monologue it becomes clear that this wasn’t the reason at all � it was because SHE was drunk off her ass.
Just a small sample of the epic misunderstandings that are going on here � and misunderstandings drive me NUTS. Why do I keep reading JLA‘s books then, you ask? She is the Queen of Miscommunications after all. Because I generally enjoy her YA fantasy despite those � but drop the fantasy and her writing is just plain unbearable.
The next 30% are mostly about Kyler and Sid getting it on � naturally with a lot of interruptions and more miscommunication. And lo and behold, because the recipe demands another ingredient to make this a waste of a book: there is some low-key murder-mystery plot the world did not need.
Since it’s been way too long, add another miscommunication involving a supposed OW in epically dumb proportions. Why would anyone make their characters look so clueless and idiotic? I was ready to scream in frustration by then.
And the whole frigid theme, going so far as to lending the book its title?? Did not make ANY sense whatsoever. Just because her stupid ex couldn’t get her off the one time they had sex and called her frigid as a result, she is now irrationally afraid of being seen as frigid. Uhm, Sid, have you considered looking up what the word actually means? Then you would know that after experiencing tons of orgasms with Kyler (!!), you really shouldn’t worry about crap like that:
And if I didn’t already think you were stupid, using phrases like “le sigh�, would already have put you on the “stupid� list.

Kyler and Sydney have been friends forever but for quite a while, they have each wanted the other as more. Different reasons have stopped them from following through on anything. Finally, things start to change when they are stranded in a cabin during a snow storm.
For the most part, I enjoyed this story. It's not complicated and it's an easy read. Besides the emotional yo-yo, there is some suspense but even that is easy to figure out.
I did like both Kyler and Sydney. They are sweet and easy to like...even Kyler with his "playa" ways especially when you find out more information about that. I loved how they knew each other for sooo long and had so many great memories. "This is Forever."
Sydney is really great but she did get on my nerves with the constantly going back and forth as far as telling Kyler. It just seemed to go on for too long! And then even after things started going, she still worried about everything.
Kyler wasn't much better and then top his problems off with his just not thinking! He did and said some things without thinking about the consequences or how it would come across.
I did enjoy Kyler and Sydney when they got together. I loved that Kyler took care of her and made things good for her. I liked that Kyler did things "differently" with Sydney...she just didn't really appreciate what that meant. It really helped getting both their POV's...I just love when authors do that! The tattoo and the picture frames were really romantic.
Andrea and Tanner are really great best friends. I was impressed how they were always there for Kyler and Sydney and I loved all their meddling. It would be interesting to see how things go between them. I saw that there is a Frigid #2 and I was hoping it would be their story but it says it's a companion. I'm guessing more of Kyler's POV?
The suspense plot added a little spice to the story...in a really creepy way. It wasn't hard to figure out who it was but I did enjoyed how it all came together.
The big question is did Kyler redeemed himself? I think he did and I liked his reasoning's. I thought it was wonderful how both Kyler and Sydney's parents acted.

Frigid is sexy romance story which frustrated the hell out of me!
My Kyler and Sydney:
Sydney is really nice but uptight 21 years old girl who is in love with her best friend Kyler. It pains her to see him man-whore his way at college but her feelings for him are only getting stronger. She thinks she doesn't stand a chance and she doesn't want to ruin their friendship.
Kyler doesn't care about countless girls she slept with but he does care for his best friend Sydney. However, he tries to persuade himself that he is not good enough for her but he still has this urger to "protect" her from every potential suitor.
What happens when only two of them get stuck in a ski resort, cut off from the rest of the world for couple of days?
I wasn't sure what to think of Kyler at the beginning. He was arrogant and so full of himself. But fortunatelly, this book is written in dual POV and seeing things from his perspective definitely helped a lot. But still, idea of hero sleeping with 90% of girls he comes in contact with did not sound that much appealing to me, especially when his reasons were all wrong...
Syd was a very naive girl. Like really girly unexperienced naive. But since she realized that denial didn't work and she grew some "lady balls" I started to like her.
Frigid was full of suppressed feelings, sexual frustration and plenty of jelaousy. There was drama, angst and some sexy parts too but I could not enjoy this book. This was not the best by /. Guess I have been spoiled by her previous books and this story kind of pales in comparison with her other stories!

Well...it pains me to do so but, damn this book was BAD! And I'm a BIG JLA fan! But this one just didn't work for me. At. All.

You two seriously need to have a conversation. One where you aren't LYING to each other's face. PLEASE! I hate spending the entire book in a state of miscommunication.
Sydney:
Poor, poor Sydney. Honestly, she ranks up there as one of my LEAST favorite heroines of all time.
Is anyone really THAT clumsy???
And every time she opened her mouth....
She was just too over-the-top insecure and weak. To the point of it being annoying.
Kyler:
I didn't really find that he had any redeeming qualities either. Not like Daemon, Hunter and Cam.

Non avevo molte aspettative al riguardo visto che è il primo libro della Armentrout che leggo quindi ammetto di non sapere cosa aspettarmi.
Mi sono lasciata convincere dall'atmosfera invernale e quasi natalizia, anche se alla fine l'ho avvertita poco è niente.
La tempesta di neve che blocca i due protagonisti nella baita in montagna è solo un pretesto narrativo che ha mandato avanti la trama. I due protagonisti per quanto mi riguarda sono piatti e molto noiosi e ripetitivi, se avessero parlato tra di loro invece di fare solo supposizioni e crearsi paranoie inutilmente la storia si sarebbe potuta concludere in meno di cento pagine.
La sola cosa che ha mandato avanti la storia, oltre alla tempesta di neve, è stato lo pseudo-psicopatico che ha tormentato i due protagonisti per una questione in sospeso con Kyler.
L'autrice ha provato a creare un po' di suspense aggiungendo del pericolo alla storia, peccato che abbia scoperto il colpevole fin da subito.
Le scene di sesso tra i protagonisti hanno dato un po' di "movimento" a questa storia.
Lo stile è la cosa che ho più apprezzato, insieme alla scene spicy, perché è molto scorrevole e ha reso la lettura di questo libro molto fluida.
Sinceramente voglio dare un'altra chance a questa autrice leggendo altri libri, anche perché questo libro nonostante molti difetti mi è piaciuto.

Ich hatte so Lust auf dieses Buch, dass ich es mir direkt kaufen musste und es auch gleich auf der Rückfahrt im Zug begonnen habe zu lesen. Die Geschichte war wirklich zuckersüß, charmant und witzig und hatte interessanterweise zusätzlich den "Thrill"-Effekt. Eine rundum gelungene Mischung und durchweg sympathische Charaktere mit denen man mitfühlen konnte - sowohl mit Sydney als auch mit Kyler - da die Geschichte aus wechselnder Perspektive erzählt wird. Perfektes Buch für die Weihnachtszeit übrigens! :)

Fell in love with the characters, the setting, everything.

- This book felt very 2013 in the writing style and stereotypes - girl with no experience falls in love with popular bad boy who hooks up with every girl. Wasn’t the biggest fan of how it was so centered on the spice until halfway through the story. At one point the mmc “accidentally� touched the fmc through her clothes while he thought she was sleeping� gave me a big ick.
- The last half of the story really saved it for me because I was struggling to get past all of the cliches. The last half picked up speed with the pacing and really kept me invested!
- This is the third book I’ve read by this author and probably my least favorite. I expected more depth between the two characters. But I did really love how the story had an added twist. Made me want to finish it to see what was going to happen!

The h claimed to be this timid, sweet thing but she kept on pursuing the H and saying some ballsy things to be turned down. It was painful to read because I was embarrassed for her since she would say in her inner dialogue how much she hurt because of his reaction but then would do it again! There was way too much inner dialogue for my liking and not enough actual communication.
I just wasn’t feeling it.
I obviously was much more tolerant back then and I’m taking this off my favorites shelf 🙈

No one could replace me in his life. I knew that. I was the friend who knew everything about him and whom he trusted above everyone else. I was Kyler's best friend. And because of that, he would never love me the way i loved him.
Sydney has been secretly in love with her best friend, Kyler, since what seems like forever. She hates that he is a man-whore and a player who never says 'no' to a girl that wants to jump his bones. The only excpetion? Her.
For Kyler, Sydney is the only girl who owns his heart. He doesn't deserve her, so he stays away and cherishes the only thing he can - their everlasting friendship.
But when they get caught in a snow storm, they are stuck in Kyler's mum cabin. Alone.
Can they stay away from each other? Or will there secrets and passions be laid down bare? And what if they cave - will anything ever be the same again?
Jennifer has provided us with a cute romance novel that i liked. But there was something missing in it.
I felt like there was not enough 'depth' and that the book was not throughout very well.
The first part of Frigid i actually really liked.
I thought it will be a 4 star read.
Do you know what happened? Sydney happened.
What i thought of Sydney?
She was such an annoying, naive, and stupid protagonist that at times i thought 'Who the f*ck did you fall in love with, Kayler?'.
In my opinion him not being 'good' enough for her is a big piece of bullshit because he deserves so much more than an overreacting, overbearing and not knowing anything girl.
Kayler kisses her and she's like "Why did you stop?"
Kayler pushes away from her and she's like "Don't you want me?"
She does something during sex or making out and she's like "You didn't like it, did you?"
What i thought of Kyler?:
Kayler i naturally LOVED with all my heart.
He was a great guy!
Protective, sweet, thoughful, tender, and freaking HOT! I heart you.
The plot is wayyy old. I think i read that a thousand times already.
Since this is we are talking about, i was disappointed because i thought she would write something a bit different.
At times i zoomed out whilst reading and even skipped a bit.
What i hated the most was how predictable the book was. The ending when i was like...
But the reason i gave this book 3 stars was because i personally could very much relate to falling for you best friend (been there, done that, honey), and also because the book was a bit entertaining.
I LOVED the sweet and hot scenes between Kayler and Sydney.
And after A LOT of the misunderstandings gets sorted out they finally get their Christmas HEA.
Overall , I liked Frigid. A cute, short read that i recommend you read in winter for full enjoyment :)

Was soll ich sagen, es ist halt JLArmentrout! Der Schreibstil ist einfach toll, Kyler und Sydney so sympathisch und die erotischen Szenen - holla die Waldfee!
Ich kann aber auch die weniger positiven Meinungen verstehen wegen einem Handlungsstrang verstehen, vllt ein bisschen unglaubwürdig, aber ich mein, welches New Adult Buch ist das generell nicht? ;) Und klar, diese bestimmten Unstimmigkeiten und Stressszenen die durch fehlende Kommunikation zwischen Syd u Kyler entstehen sind vorhanden, haben sich aber schnell aufgeklärt und mich nicht genervt.
Ich fand es toll umgesetzt und kann es nur empfehlen, vor allem für Fans von J. Lynn!

Edit 12/20/14: After browsing and reviewing my reviews, I can't help but notice that I sound maybe a teensy weensy bit condescending in this one. Sorry, guys. If you love this book, no probs. We cool. To those who haven't read the book, please don't let this review dissuade you from reading it. There are lots of people who found this wonderful but sadly, I am not one of them. Still, I think you should give this a try and see for yourselves. That's all. Thank you. *bows*

After finishing Frigid, I can't help but wonder how people were even able to digest it and rave about what an awesome book it is! Really, people? This book was nothing but plain boring and predictable , and annoying and I'm already being really generous by giving this a one-star rating. If not really for the minor characters and some funny moments, I would've totally dnfed this already.
Frigid is just yet another clichéd story between two best friends who are secretly in love with each other and all that shit. Sydney's been in love with Kyler since like forever and though he feels the same way, too, instead of pursuing her, he did exactly the opposite and screwed around with other girls because he feels that he's not "good enough" for her and she's the kind of girl who deserves someone "better."
Seriously???
Well you know what, I think that is just bullshit. If my bestfriend was secretly in love with me, I think I'd pretty much notice it. I also wouldn't deprive myself the opportunity of being with him because I'm not good enough for him or because he deserves someone better. If I wasn't good enough for him, we'd never even be best friends in the first place so that reason Kyler has there is a total bullshit.
And if the guy and I had been best friends since preschool, I don't think it would take until we're both stranded at a ski resort for us to declare our undying love for each other. And it certainly wouldn't begin with me - for goodness' sake - begging the guy to do me like he does the other girls and then worrying that the guy regretted doing it with you the day after. I admire that Sydney is a woman who is aware of her sexual needs. And isn't afraid to go after them. Clap. Clap. But come on, don't go whinin' the next morning whether Kyler regretted what happened between you two. The main question is, did you? Sydney, despite being 21-years old, is not even close to being a woman. She's like a child! All she ever did was whine and overthink worthless things such as "Oh, Kyler must regret what happened to us last night." Kyler this, Kyler that. Blah blah blah.
Congratuwelldone J. Lynn for making a character who is the epitome of stupidity. I think I just found my newest most-hated main character of all time. I think she'd be sticking in the first place for a while.
I am practically done. There's even more actually, a lot more that I despised about this book and if I let myself recall and write them all here, I think I'd totally destroy myself. I'd be so done than I already am now. No, thank you. I've had enough already.

Das mit Abstand schlechteste Buch, das ich von Jennifer L. Armentrout bisher gelesen habe. Leider, denn sonst mag ich ihre Bücher immer recht gern!
Ich konnte mich nicht wirklich in die Charaktere hineinversetzen und alles wirkte sehr oberflächlich und konstruiert. Der zusätzliche Thrill-Handlungsstrang war total unnötig, da schon von Anfang an klar war, wer hinter allem steckt und alles super unrealistisch. Auch die erotischen Szenen konnten mich hier leider gar nicht überzeugen und wirkten teilweise sogar etwas billig. Leider kein Vergleich zu ihren sonst so wunderbaren Büchern!
