When reserved flight attendant Bianca gets one look at billionaire hotel owner James Cavendish, she loses all of her hard-won composure. For a girl who can easily juggle a tray of champagne flutes at 35,000 feet in three inch heels, she finds herself shockingly weak-kneed from their first encounter. The normally unruffled Bianca can't seem to look away from his electrifying turquoise gaze. They hold a challenge, and a promise, that she finds impossible to resist, and she is a girl who is used to saying no and meaning it.

Bianca is accustomed to dealing with supermodels and movie stars in her job as a first class flight attendant, but James Cavendish puts them all to shame in the looks department. If only it were just his looks that she found so irresistible about the intimidating man, Bianca could have ignored his attentions. But what tempts her like never before is the dominant pull he seems to have over her from the moment they meet, and the promise of pleasure, and pain, that she reads in his eyes.

****Contains mild spoilers and a lot of bitching* ***

I understand that there is a thriving market for the story about dominant hot young billionaires and their obsession with a beautiful insecure/traumatised young women.
I also know that we are going to get some similarities here. That's fair enough. I can accept that. I even don't care too much as long as it's done right.
But...COME ON! This is such a rip off! I read it wondering if the author hasn't a law suit pending.

Surely when deciding to climb on board the Fifty Shades gravy train you would have the imagination to take this in another direction and not be so darn disturbingly blatant in your efforts at reproducing what is ultimately another Fifty Shades.

Allow me to make my point please.

Some things I state here might be purely coincidental. I found it hard to believe though especially when there is so much in your face, almost blatant plagiarism of the plot and characterization.
I read this book with my mouth hanging open. Does the author think we wouldn't notice? Jesus!
I read Fifty Shades more than a year ago, so this is what I can remember, just off the top of my head!

Let me list a few similarities:

Billionaire in his twenties.

Kinky dominant control freak.

The most beautiful man she's ever seen.

She turns into a simpering clumbsy idiot on their first couple of encounters.

He has a proposition for her. and
he can play her body like an instrument.

They have sex on a plane.

There is a playroom in his penthouse, she bites her lip and has a special best friend too! Aaaaand

She thinks he is way out of her league

He's mercurial (yep, that exact word)and he also happens to have suffered an abusive horrible childhood.

She makes a drunken mess of herself, complete with him taking her home to 'care ' for her and then sleeping together in the same bed!

There's also the proverbial blindfold along with music to shag to!

I really could go on here, but I'll save it!

Okay, so all this shocking unoriginality aside.

The MC....what's his name?
Oh yes. Mr Beautiful, I can't even remember his proper name. He's the 'most beautiful,' 'most stunning,' 'most attractive,' and 'most devastatingly handsome' man in the world.
Sadly he is also the most arrogant, conceited, hedonistic, domineering, overly possessive, mercurial (yes I'll use that word too) controlling arsehole in the whole world.
He is moody and sulky and way too intense, and not in a good way. I did not find him appealing or sexy at all.

It's a shame really because I'm the first one to swoon and kiss the feet of a sexy arrogant Dom. Not even when Mr beautiful shows off his sexy body, complete with the muscled V trail to heaven did I feel an ounce of admiration.

In my opinion the author pushed the lesser characteristics of a Dom a bit too far with this guy. Quite frankly, he was very disconcerting and my every instinct was screaming for the heroine to RUN!

His dialogue leaves a lot to be desired too.
When a man says to a virgin, who has stayed shied away from men her whole life

“I'm going to tie you to the bed and take your hymen.

It is not cool, or sexy or erotic. It's bloody vulgar and I would have smacked him upside the head. No matter how drunk I was.

And what about this one? Can you just for one second imagine having phone sex and the guy says this

“Now lift up your skirt and stroke the petals of your sex lightly.

Oh my freaking God!
Who says that? ...the petals of your sex? Is he serious...the petals of your sex?!

I know a lot of people loved this and I'm not about to totally slate the entire book. I wanted to like it, I always want to love the things I read. It is rated two stars after all and if you move your mouse over the stars, two stars means it was okay.
So let me tell you about what saved this from being burnt.

Bianca! and Stephan. Best friends since childhood. Totally believable in the affection and caring they have for each other. Theirs is a special kind of friendship that really is something that we all covet for ourselves. Inseparable, loyal, selfless and totally devoted to each other. Together they are a winner!

Bianca is a likable enough heroine, especially because she has a spine! God I could have kissed her so many times for standing up to the arrogant SOB. I think E.L James could take a few pointers on that one.
Stephan gets a very big star and so does Bianca and I'm being generous because Bianca did evoke a few eye rolls from me.
I cannot award any more. The writing is filled with all the cheesy over used and uninspiring descriptive's that make me cringe. The sex was about erotic and sensual as a wet sock.

The finale was totally predictable

I really wish I hadn't wasted my time. But hey, if you want another Fifty Shades...go for it! Or you could just do a re-read.

Okay so you can all throw stones now. I'm done saying what I needed to say. I'll go hide in the corner.

★★★★! Up in the Air series, book 1 of 3. Debut by R.K. Lilley. Intense, epic saga, erotic tale & mesmerizing love story with a larger-than-life James Cavendish & his Bianca!

“…“Yes, you scare me, I told him, after a very long silence, while I processed his answer. “But I’m irrevocably fucked up, so you excite me in equal measures. I find it liberating, to let someone control me…

There are three books in the Up In The Air series, but see below for BONUS chapter links:
Book 1: In Flight
Book 2: Mile High
Book 3: Grounded

James Archibald Basil Cavendish, III: British-American (of Cherokee and Italian decent)/29 years old/hotel heir-mogul-playboy-celebrity/$$$$/dark blond hair/turquoise eyes/dom.

James Cavendish and Bianca Karlsson are both beautiful beyond words, but underneath those good looks are two very broken, flawed, lonely and haunted souls. This is their story!

Bianca Karlsson, “Bee, (Princess) Buttercup: Swedish-American/23 years old/flight attendant-hobby artist/light blond hair/pale blue eyes/sub.

Bianca was nicknamed, (Princess) Buttercup by her dear friend Stephen because she loved the movie the Princess Bride so much. The movie with its theme song, “Storybook Love depicts a love so great it overcame huge obstacles, transcending time and even life as we know it. In all Bianca’s brokenness and skepticism, ultimately how could she ever settle for anything less?

...Come my love I'll tell you a tale.
Of a boy and girl and their love story.
And how he loved her oh so much.
And all the charms she did possess.
Now this did happen once upon a time.
When things were not so complex.
And how he worshipped the ground she walked.
And when he looked in her eyes he became obsessed.

My love is like a storybook story.
But it's as real as the feelings I feel…

***
I recommend you read the series in this order:

13. James POV 2.1:
14. Grounded, book 3
15. James POV 3.1:TBD

The moment James laid eyes on Bianca he was captivated even obsessed. He sees a stunningly beautiful woman with so very sad pale blue eyes. The one thing Bianca has been exceptionally successful at all her life (except with her best friend Stephen) is to keep people ay a distance. Despite, or rather because of everything she has had to endure, she has protected her privacy and kept to herself. She is not interested in relationships and she is still a virgin.

James approach is so different than anything she has ever experienced. To his advantage he picks up on her submissive tendencies. He is a dom and as it turns out, for the first time in Bianca’s life, she has met a man who knows how to pursue her. That makes her curious enough to open up and let down her guard. They are so taken with other it’s electric. But they are both so broken and complex and there so much to overcome.

In this book we get to follow as James pursues Bianca relentlessly quite a novelty for someone of James caliber. Needless to say book 1 ends in a cliff hanger, but no worries because book 2 and 3 are waiting.

James is everything I could ever ask for in a hero and Bianca is truly his match. This is a debut by R.K. Lilley who is an excellent storyteller. Thanks for an epic saga!

In book 1 we are also introduced to all the different sides of James, aka Mr. Cavendish:
Mr. Generous, Mr. Unnerving, Mr. Beautiful, Mr. Persistent, Mr. Perverse, Mr. Moody, Mr. Stalker, Mr. Angry, Mr. Kinky, Mr. Spellcaster, Mr. Dominant, Mr. BDSM, Mr. Sensitive, Mr. Insatiable, Mr. Incredible, Mr. Desperate, Mr. Possessive, Mr. Relentless, Mr. Accommodating, Mr. Bossy, Mr. Doting, Mr. Volatile, Mr. Charming, Mr. Shameless, Mr. Withdrawn, Mr. Tender-Lover, Mr. Personality, Mr. Affectionate, Mr. Gratification, Mr. Mercurial, Mr. Wonderful, Mr. Beautiful, Mr. Duplicitous, Mr. Celebrity.

“It gave me an extraordinary feeling, being on the receiving end of such a stare. It made me feel like I was more important than air to him for a brief, profound moment.

BE STILL MY BEATING HEART!

Holy Freaking WOW! Make room Christian Grey, Gideon Cross, Braden Carmichael there’s a new fictional boyfriend in the harem and that man is Mr James melt my freakin' panties Cavendish. How much did I love him? Let me count the ways!

He’s a super uber-alpha dominant male, he’s possessive, protective, controlling, a bit of a sadist, romantic, tender, fierce, generous, caring, soulful I could go on and on and rain down superlatives but my heart and stomach really did do crazy little flip-flops the whole time I was reading this and they are still doing it now as I think back and remind myself! I have a major crush on him.

He had moved in behind me, and he gripped my hair softly, breathing warmly on my neck as he spoke. “Are you so unaffected by me?

He meets the very reserved flight attendant Bianca and they share an instant, mind-blowing connection. The world around them grinds to a halt as they just stare at one another, completely unable to look away. Mr Cavendish is seriously rich and uses his wealth and influence to see her again and they embark on an incredibly passionate D/s relationship.

It’s not just all about the sex though I loved the way he tenderly took off Bianca’s make-up when she was falling down drunk, the way carried her and held her when she cried, the way he just wanted to care for her and cherish her and protect her from the world.

Of course, there’s more to it than that they both have troubled pasts and both are keeping secrets and only a few are revealed in this instalment. One of those secrets will have huge implications for Bianca before the end of this one and they’re being so guarded that they struggle with the dynamics of their relationship.

“I’m so afraid I’ll offend you beyond all repair, and that you’ll never let me know how. You’ll just leave and never speak to me again. Would you do that?

I’d just like to give a big virtual hug to Stephan, Bianca’s best friend, a gay flight attendant, and her biggest and fiercest protector. They share a uniquely special bond and I loved him, almost as much as I loved Mr Cavendish.

Of course, there are sequels to come and this one ends with everything up in the air and on a moment of absolute desperation. There’s absolutely no way in hell that I’m not moving straight onto the sequel. I’ve given this book 5 stars. I know that I’m a generally positive reviewer, I like most of what I read but I rarely give out 5 stars but I dragged that fifth one out for this one because of how it made me feel. I just LOVED it.

5 big, BIG STARS

Also posted on my blog at:

This book is about as blatant of a 50Shades knockoff as you can get.

Bianca is a drop dead gorgeous (but she doesn't think so) flight attendant who is a 20-something year old virgin (of course) and has a traumatic past.

James is a billionaire who is the absolute best looking guy in the entire world (nicknamed Mr. Beautiful by Bianca).

Their first real meeting is on a plane while he is in first class and she's his flight attendant. He propositions her. She declines. He does it again. She declines again. Forcefully. He continues to try and proposition her. She VERY CLEARLY and VERY PURPOSEFULLY declines him AGAIN. What does he do at this point? He corners her in the galley in the plane and forces himself on her. Of course, he has magic lips and she immediately loses control and starts willingly making out with him because OMG SHE JUST CAN'T STOP IT FEELS SO GOOD.

After he stops half raping her in the galley, she tells him again she's not interested. So what does he do? He talks her other flight attendant best friend in to telling him where Bianca will be partying that night and he shows up. James arrives at the bar and starts berating Bianca for drinking (the girl is 23 and hasn't had a drop of alcohol in 2 years). Of course she gets really drunk and her BFF roommate decides that this creepy stalker is JUST the right person to take Bianca home while he stays at the bar. (Best friend ever!)

So James takes her home. He starts stripping her naked and she resists at first, but then because he's so super awesome she lets him get her naked. But he is a stand up guy. He tells her he is going to fuck her so hard she won't ever want another man again. But not while she is drunk! He just waits til the morning and in an really unsexy scene he grabs her boobs (and OMG IT IS SO AMAZING SHE PRACTICALLY HAS AN ORGASM RIGHT THERE!). He then gets her off with his fingers in about three seconds flat and of course, virginal Bianca feels bad for leaving him unsatisfied so she gives him a blowjob (her first time ever!). And of course, her first blow job ever, and she swallows on purpose (suuuure!).

I'm only 17% of the way through this book and I don't think I can take it anymore. I should have stopped after the airplane scene because it was so revolting. Do you realize what he did in that plane is ILLEGAL? If I girl declines you multiple times and you force yourself on her, THAT IS A CRIME. Of course it's not in this book because "No" means "Yes" for Bianca (GREAT MESSAGE TO SEND TO ALL WOMEN!).

I am obviously NOT the audience for these types of books. I think it's absolutely disgusting to romanticize an ABUSIVE STALKER. Ladies. A man forcing himself on you after you said no is BAD. I don't care how hot he is. He just FORCED HIMSELF ON YOU AFTER YOU SAID NO. THIS IS NOT SEXY. THIS IS NOT ROMANTIC. A man who keeps purposely showing up at places where you're going to be AFTER you've told him you're not interested is called a STALKER. This also is NOT romantic or sexy!

What the fuck is wrong with people? Seriously?

"I'm going to ruin you. I"ll be your first, and I'll fuck you so thoroughly that I'll be your last, too. You won't want any other man after I've gotten my hands on you. Every last inch of you."

And so the story begins... The story of a 23 year old flight attendant named Bianca who encounters the extremely good looking and highly controlling billionaire Mr. James Cavendish in the first class section on one of her flights. They both immediately feel a very strong connection between them and despite Bianca's reservations they begin a steamy hot love affair. After that, Bianca finds herself being swept away in the fascinating, frightening and exciting new world that James introduces to her. Along the way they each have to deal with the troubles from their past that keep haunting them. Especially Bianca has been through a lot when she was young but still she managed to keep strong and built up a life for herself, together with her best friend Stephan (whose character I absolutely loved by the way; their friendship reminded me of the one between Eva and Cary from the Crossfire series).

"Life hurts. As long as it doesn't kill us, we weather it."

James, our male lead character, is a very possesive, dominant and powerfull man but at the same time he's also very insecure and he's constantly making sure he doesn't do anything to upset Bianca's feelings. He wants to make sure she's enjoying their arrangement as much as she is.

"I would give just about anything to know what's behind that cool composure of yours. And I would kill to know what you're thinking," he whispered against my hair. "I'm so afraid I'll offend you beyond repair, and that you'll never let me know how. You'll just leave and never speak to me again. Would you do that?"

Yes, the storyline very much resembles the one of Fifty Shades and the Crossfire series. Was is very original? No. Did I enjoy reading it anaway? Yes! R.K. Lilley managed to write a very enjoyable story with a funny twist that captures your attention from the moment you start reading it untill the very end. I really liked her clear writing style and the fact that it took place in the refreshing world of aircrafts and flight attendants. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will definitely read the next ones in the series as well!

First of all i haven't watched fifty shades of grey (i don't like that actor) so idk how this works it might be unpopular opinion 🤡

Reasons why i didn't rate it less than 3
I liked Stephan (fmc's friend) sm, FMC herself was fine (i liked her self reliance, job, hobby, etc) and the groveling

Mmc wasn't the best here he was going back and forth from being caring to idk what *smiles through pain* (atleast one chapter name should've been Mr. Idk or Mr. Cringey) a little before the end i wanted to cuss him in my native language and hug fmc and stephan but at least groveling helped to some extent

I didn't really hated the writing completely...to be more precise i hated some of the mmc's dialogues cz wtf were those but then i think, cz yeah I surprisingly have a mind, that it's bdsm it's gonna feel physical isn't it? I don't really know idek what bdsm stands for uneducated b*tch is what i am so don't take me seriously (not me sending those dialogues to my friend she was going to send me for exorcism)

The writer went slow with the story which i didn't mind they all have their pasts it got me sad and tbh that was what making me read. My friend on the other hand was waiting for the hardcore part but it didn't come khe khe

Ngl the cliffhanger was also predictable i knew smth like that was gonna come up thank God it wasn't melissa or it'd have been 1 star

Also the book was single pov from fmc which was a problem too to say the least...his pov will come in 4th book *are you f-ing kidding me*

Fell in love with James, Stephan and Bee all over again!! :D Can't wait for the 3rd book!! :D

“Please, call me James, he chided me. He leaned in closer, speaking directly into my ear. “In private, though, you may call me Mr. Cavendish.

“I’m going to ruin you, he breathed. “I’ll be your first, and I’ll fuck you so thoroughly that I’ll be your last, too. You won’t want any other man after I’ve gotten my hands on you. Every last inch of you.

This book and this trilogy really needs more recognition. This book, its bloody amazing!
DO READ IT.

LOVED this book! Like seriously fucking hot and it has its own unique charm to it with the whole flight attendant thingie! I really enjoyed it, Super cool and something totally new. I haven't read a single book with a flight attendant thing going on it in. It felt like a nice change.
The book is HOT HOT HOT, oozes chemistry and its sizzling and steamy!

Stephan is just THE BEST!! James is FUCKING HOT and I so want to do him, BAD. ;)
Bee is super strong, confident and so nice, Love her. Melissa is a fucking crazy bitch, and supa weird.

REALLY ENJOYED IT :D It has its nice thing going.. got me hooked. :)
Both their past stories are so moving and you feel it deep in. The overall concept of the book is really amazing!

The writing of the author is capturing and very nice and detailed and interesting and she definitely has her way with words.
It has a little fsog and bared to you going, but now a days all the books do, so I won't compair them.. this is different and really nice in its own way.

“James is so crazy about you, Stephan murmured to me quietly.
He’s crazy, all right, I thought, but I didn’t comment.

Mr. Beautiful, James Cavendish

"This man was quite simply the most stunning person I'd laid eyes on in my twenty-three years"

"The sight of that hard play of muscles under his shirt made my mouth go dry"

Bianca,

"Suck on my tongue"

"Can you honestly tell me that the thought of submitting to me in bed doesn't make you wet?"

"I will put you over my knee every time you lie to me, Bianca!"

Bianca meets James in her flight that was serving as a first-class attendant along with best mate, Stephen. Bianca has a horrible past and is yet to move past it until James. He seems to be able to give her what she needs.

James, on the other, besides being Mr. Beautiful, has a fair share of being manwhore. From hookups to subs... Can Bianca fit in this lifestyle and banish her past?

James besides being controlling, dom, moody at times has a filthy mouth!

"I could eat you all day"
"I'm going to fuck your mouth tomorrow. But not until I've fucked your cunt into submission"

So, sit back and enjoy! Am already diving into Book 2..... I need answers LOL James is so mysterious to me still! I simply can't get enough for him!

"After watching me in silence for long, pregnant minutes, he spoke."

Dear lord, help me. ☺️🙏

James (mmc) & Bianca (fmc) 😊🤚

James? Toxic, childish and a pissoff.
He's the most jobless billionaire I've ever seen. His shift in moods were faster than a chameleon. 🙄🦎

Bianca? Bland but bold.
She also blushed every minute, I thought she was turning into Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony.
Welp, atleast she had a good spine against James.🤷‍♀

I was actually expecting a one star, but surprised myself with a two. The last 15% was decent enough. Might read the sequel. Might.
The writing was trash, but I'll let it pass since this was written in 2012.

Stephan was the only tolerable character, you can stay, baby. I'll kiss you. 🫂🥹💞

LOVED IT! I WANT MORE!
THANKS FOR THIS R.K. LILLEY :)

Merged review:

OH, Sorry 'bout that. But, HOLY HOTNESS OVERLOAD!!!

In Flight is is basically, Fifty Shades of Grey meets Bared To You. You know, the usual, super rich dominant (but flawed) alpha male meets equally dysfunctional but strong and beautiful heroine, and developed instant attraction.

What I love most about this book are the characters. Bianca , despite what she's been through with her family, especially with her dad, has stayed strong. I love that she's not whiny/dramatic like most of the annoying heroines I've read in the past. She doesn't give a sh*t what others think, which is admirable.

And then, there's James Cavendish !!!

JAMES "Makes-my-panties-drop" CAVENDISH is a kinky rich bastard who, like Bianca, has a horrible past, which is also the reason why he likes to have dominance. I LOVE everything about him, idk why. He is bossy, moody, possessive, but he is also generous and can sometimes be sweet. My personal favorite scene was when Bianca got drunk and he puts her to bed and removed her makeup for her, I think that's a first, I mean I haven't read something like that in books before. And then, of course, there's his lines that will make you combust.

"Well, I came here because I very much want to fuck you until neither of us can walk. I want you so bad I can’t see straight."

"Someday soon I’m going to tie you up
and tease you just the way you’re teasing
me right now, with no hope for release for
at least a night."

"I’m going to ruin you, he breathed. “I’ll be your first, and I’ll fuck you so thoroughly that I’ll be your last, too. You won’t want any other man after I’ve gotten my hands on you. Every last inch of you."
--though I think the word "ruin" is way over the top. LoL.

"I’m going to tie you to my bed and take
your hymen. I can’t seem to think about
anything else"
--hymen? Really? :))

Also, I have to add that I adore Stephan so much!!! He's always there for Bianca! You see, their friendship reminded me of Eva and Cary in Bared To You. They are both gays, btw. Aside from that, these two have been inseparable since both of them had cruel pasts.

Of course, if there are lovable characters, there are also evil bitches namely Melissa and Jules . Here's a message for them:

Overall, I guess it's safe to say that I devour these types of book because I am hooked! Not a dull moment and lots of toe-curling sex that will make you say:

The sex scenes in this were 10/10, but everything else about this was waaaaay too Christian Grey for my personal taste. If you're into the macho-guy-does-everything-for-the-poor-defenseless-virgin thing, you'll probably really enjoy this! If you do not enjoy that, stay far, far away. Lmao

I am sorry but In Flight didn’t work for me.

I know many people loved this book, and that’s precisely why I gave it a go however, much to my disappointment, it fell down for me.

There are several things wrongs with it, here are just a few:

1) There is seriously something missing here: Depth.

2) The Characters:
I couldn’t connect emotionally with the characters; as a result, I just didn’t care much about them.

BIANCA My biggest problem with her is that I don’t find her believable. I don’t see her behavior coherent with her description. This happens often, an author tries to tell us who a character is but then fails to portrait that definition.
Another problem I have with her is her trust in all matters James. Leaving the sexual trust aside, there is something I cannot forgive her, the fact that she blindly believes James on not using a condom because she is on the pill, well, that is messed up and utterly stupid, she doesn’t really know him, how can she trust a complete stranger? How the hell does she know where he´s been, damn it? She doesn’t, they are not in any kind of relationship and not using a condom is unbelievably irresponsible and senile. Hello STDs!

JAMES He is a two-dimensional character, he absolutely lacks depth. James is a stranger. There is no way to connect to him and we really know nothing about him, except superficial facts. Even after the book ended he still felt like a stranger to me, distant, and I don’t mean in a mysterious kind of way, I mean in I have no idea who that guy is and I don’t even care way. He is incredibly flat.
Another problem I have with him is that sometimes when he talked I debated between gagging or wanting to punch him, maybe even both. Example: “I’m going to tie you to my bed and take your hymen WHAT.THE.FUCK. Gag, punch and run the hell away!! Creep.

3) The way the sexual events unfold doesn’t seem realistic to me. It would have been different if the writer wouldn’t have decided to make Bianca a virgin, it would have make more sense if she wasn’t, but as it is, not so much. We have Bianca, a virgin, and in the scene where she looses her virginity that fact has to be not only told but also communicated throughout the scene, through the development of events. Well, that didn’t happen, I couldn’t believe it, it wasn’t realistic. She is a virgin, doesn’t date and on her VERY FIRST TIME she has NO PROBLEMS AT ALL accepting being tied up, dominated, using nipple claps and light BDSM stuff, she has no doubts, not even a bit of fear, nervousness, or hesitation, nothing, NADA, she just jumps right into it like a real pro. I would like to know WHERE DID ALL THAT TRUST TOWARDS JAMES CAME FROM, because there is nothing in the book up to that point to create that kind of connection and trust, she barely knows the dude, they haven’t even been on a date. I think that kind of confidence and trust doesn’t come so easily during your first time with someone you know, much less with an almost virtual stranger. The least we can expect is some agitation, anxiety or nervousness, hell some excitement at the minimum, the girl is completely inexperienced!

I wanted to like it, I really did but In flight royally flunked.

5 Super Sexy Stars!

Going into reading this, I heard a lot about it being a mix of 50 Shades and Crossfire Series, and I do see the similarities. But move over Christian and Gideon... there is a new hot alpha in town that tops you both, my new book boyfriend....

Mr.Persistent, Mr.Stalker, Mr.Kinky, Mr.Beautiful, Mr.Dominant, Mr.Volatile, Mr.Shameless, Mr.Affectionate, Mr.Personality, Mr.Mercurial, Mr.Wonderful, MR.CAVENDISH

“I am going to ruin you, he breathed. “I’ll be your first, and I’ll fuck you so thoroughly that I’ll be your last too. You won’t want any other man after I’ve gotten my hands on you. James... you are sooo yummy!

Now meet Bianca aka Buttercup, 23 year old flight attendant

Bianca is a flight attendant in the first class section. She and her best friend Stephan have worked in the field for a while and she is used to seeing the bigwigs, movie stars etc on her flights. But nothing prepares her for meeting billionaire businessman Mr. James Cavendish. There is something different about Mr. Cavendish. They have an insta-attraction to each other. James talks to Bianca about an arrangement of sorts, which she quickly declines. Bianca does not date. She is not interested... but there is something about Mr. Cavendish that wears her down.
Once they are together, the chemistry is undeniable! It is smoking hot! There are some steamy, passionate, straight up hot sex scenes, but this book is not all about the sex, there is actually a lot of story going on.
“Life hurts. As long as it doesn’t kill us, we weather it.
Both James and Bianca have traumatic and abusive pasts and are keeping some secrets from each other. Their pasts and issues cause there relationship to be complex.

James is a hot dominate alpha male! Couldn’t get enough of him! He can be moody and controlling, but he is also affectionate, kind, sensitive and all kinds of sexy! Bianca has been through so much in her life, but she is still caring, smart, independent, and strong. She aggravated me at times, but knowing her past, you couldn’t be mad at her for the way she acted about some things. Stephan was one of my favorite characters! He reminded me of Carey from Bared to You, but better! Loved him!!! He was so much more than just a best friend to Bianca, he was her family. Loved their relationship and Stephan and James interactions. And no story would be complete without someone causing drama... Melissa and Jules- lets hope we don’t see too much of them in the next book!

Overall, In Flight was an amazing book! Some hot kink, memorable characters and a story with heart. Can’t wait to continue James and Bianca’s story and read Mile High. If you haven’t read this one, pick it up! It’s a must read!

Anyone else have deja vous???

Blah blah 20-something year old billionare.... blah blah insta-love... blah blah virgin... blah blah f-ed up childhood... blah blah BDSM... blah blah sadist... blah blah MERCURIAL... blah blah jealous-control freak...

Okay, I didn't actual hate this book. It is hot and sexy and I'd rather do James than Christian any day. However, to say that this theme has been done before is a HUGE understatement. At the end of the book I DID get really drawn in but before that, I was gasping at how UN-origional it was. I'm not sure which book came first but I don't really care. I'm looking for something new, baby, and this wasn't it!

This is the first book in the UP IN THE AIR series. James is a hot, controlling, bossy, billionaire (yes billionaire) who meets Bianca on one of his flights. Can this relationship survive? Well, you won't find out in this book....to be continued in MILE HIGH! I read the books last year but never left a review. I recently purchased the audio version for my long car rides to work so I thought I would review both the book and the audio.

This book series is my favorite series out of everything I have read. I keep thinking another series will come along and top this but that hasn't happened yet. The biggest reason I am so in love with this series is James and Bianca, the MC's.

I absolutely love James devotion to Bianca in this series. I tend to lean more to the instant love, strong alpha stories and this has both. You don't realize how devoted James is in the beginning of this first book but it becomes pretty obvious the more you read.

I'm a really big fan of Bianca's character as well. I don't particularly love it when authors have the females role chase the men, especially when they forgive too much with other women drama, so when I find a female character that demands respect, I'm thrilled. This series is a Dominant/Submissive series, however, the way RK Lilley wrote Bianca, she is a submissive but still expects to be treated respectfully.

Bianca has not had good male role models in her life so she is very aloof with male attention. I like that James has to work for her affection. I'm not very educated on the BDSM lifestyle and I'm actually not that much of a fan. I prefer just a dominant male in my stories but the fact that this series has BDSM and I still love it just proves to me how really good this series is.

Now for the audio review. I have just recently started listening to Audio books so I don't have too much reference to pull from but this is the third narrator I have listened too and she has been my favorite so far. In my other experience, I didn't really like the woman impersonating the male voices but this narrator did a much better job. She has also had to do 2 accents in this first book and I can't find fault in either accent. Really good job!

If I could give this book more than 5 Stars, I would!

3 SO-SO STARS

I'm on the fence with this book. It's not that I didn't like it but I didn't fall in love with it. It was like reading Fifty Shades for at least the first sixty percent of the book for me. I had a serious case of Déjà vu and lost complete interest. It did at the end sort of begin to develop into something slightly different but I think that the character personalty traits were so similar to Christian and Ana's, that for me I had a hard time seeing past it. Sex wise, yes it was hot and steamy and I enjoyed that a lot but it lacked originality. I don't know. I don't really have much to say. I plan on reading book two but not anytime soon. The ending felt predictable to me and I wasn't left feeling like I had to have the second book immediately.

So......

Spoiler Free Review
3.5 to 4 STARS out of 5
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance -Erotica with BDSM
Important Message:
Shout Out to all Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared To You Fans. THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU! Kinky fuckery included.

“I know it’s all consensual, but the fact is, I like to hurt women during sex. There’s a reason you fear me. My strongest impulse is to control and to dominate, but make no mistake, I’m a sadist. It doesn’t exactly make me a good guy. ~James

Predator spots prey
When first class flight attendant Bianca catches the piercing turquoise eyes of hotel billionaire James Cavendish her knees instantly go weak. Which really really sucks for her since she is trying to balance a tray of champagne filled glasses at 30,000 feet in the air. He watches her intensely for a good while. Once James finds out that the relationship between Bianca and Stephan her fellow flight attendant is strictly platonic...he goes in for the kill.
She tells James that she does not date, which is fine with him cause neither does he. James makes his intentions clear. He wants her, in his bed and at his mercy. Bianca turns him down of course.
And in true alpha male fashion James insinuates himself in to her life whether she wants him there or not.

The chemistry between these two was HOT AS HELL. The things they did on the plane was... Squirm inducing!

“That is the hottest fucking flight attendant uniform I’ve ever seen. That thing should be illegal. I’m going to do some illegal things to you with that little tease of a tie, ~James

James Cavendish in one word Delectable
It took me a while to get into this read because the real world kept interrupting my Cavendish. LOL!! Get it my Cavendish?! Ok, no... Not funny? Cool, moving on.

I loved James he came across as a strong Dom yet would easily get thrown off balance by Bianca's nonchalant attitude. Which in my humble opinion just sucked him in more. In fact at times it was like he would walk on his tip toes afraid he would say something that would cause her to bolt.

“You’re tying me in knots, yet you remain unaffected yourself. Are you just waiting for a reason to end this? That’s the impression I’m getting at the moment. And that drives me fucking crazy, since I don’t have a clue what will tip the scales against me.
~James

This nonchalant attitude she gives frustrates him to no end because he desires to know her more yet she keeps him at arms length. But she does so with good reason. She believes that this is only an affair and will last weeks at the most. Her thoughts are clear, why complicate things by getting personal, lets keep it sexual.
After a while she caves and only agrees to give up personal information unless he does too! I give, you give becomes a routine that later leads them to both reveal painful secrets from their past. So painful that it brought tears to my eyes.

PAUSE: The more I review this the more I realize how much I enjoyed it I will be changing this to a full 4 star rating now.

“Welcome to the 4th floor, Bianca. ~James
**Whispers** The 4th floor is the sex floor with his toys ;)

These two definitely compliment each other on the 'I am fucked up meter' and at one point she voices how people like her need people like him. In other words hello masochist I would like you to meet my friend sadist.

“But I’m irrevocably fucked up, so you excite me in equal measures. I find it liberating, to let someone control me. Someone who makes me tremble with fear. I’ve spent a great deal of my life running from the things that scare me, so this has been illuminating for me. ~Bianca

The story takes a turn around the 82% mark. I continuously yelled OH HELL NO. James does something that royally pissed me off. Even after hearing why he did it I am still pissed.

Thoughts
Overall I enjoyed it! I am huge Christian Grey and Gideon Cross fan. I felt this book stuck close to the "formula" some readers have grown to love me included.

The formula:
-H/h both have traumatizing past that has left them with particular needs.
- The man is an all out alpha male
- The man is a billionaire
- The man has stalker tendencies
- The females have a great best friend that will defend them
- The females have no idea what they're getting in to with the male
- The females have emotional sobbing meltdowns
- Paparazzi play a small role
- The past creeps up to bite them in the ass
Am I missing something?? Feel free to tell me I will gladly add it.

My Rating
Characters- lovable, Intense and Damaged
Writing Style- Sexy, Emotional, Raw and Savory
Storyline/Plot- Good/Page turner
Steam Factor- High/Very Steamy
Overall- I enjoyed it!! Read it!

Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it on ŷ!!

Re read February 2013 (couldn't stay away from a favourite)!

Mr Beautiful aka James Cavendish you have stolen my book heart, move over every other book hero, Mr Cavendish is here to stay as a firm favourite.

My first thoughts before starting this book was that it must be a rip off of similar books in this genre. How wrong was I?

This book had full content, great story telling and fabulous writing that went perfectly alongside the sexual nature and romance of the book.

The character development in this book is surprisingly thorough. James our leading hero is such a likeable main character his dark past and flaws add a depth to his like-ability, I can not resist the domineering alpha male and Mr Cavendish delivers this role to perfection.

Girl crush alert - one lovely, feisty book heroine! Be prepared to love Bianca - the leading female character, strong, feisty and beautiful.

I can't write my review without mentioning Stephan -Bianca's best friend a wonderfully written in sub character, his presence in the book provides Bianca with a support network, a character you can't help but want to get to know.

I was truly surprised by this well written enjoyable, seriously addictive story and as you can tell I'm now a firm fan, eagerly awaiting book two in the series. I would recommend to anyone who likes a book featuring good characters, an overly protective, dominant, but sweet main leading character with a female lead that needs to be loved away from her past.

I will recommend this to my fellow romance addicts, and happily stalk the author for future books.

4.5 Mr Cavendish stars, and a big craving for book two.

-Why am I not rating this book?

Because I'm obviously not this book's audience. Like, at all. So rating it would be a bit unfair to the author and to the prospective readers.

-Why did you read it then?

I was curious and wanted to see what the fuss was all about.

-Did you find out what the fuss was about?

No.

-Did you like anything about it?

The writing was barebones and a bit dry, but not terrible. So that's a plus (really, quality writing is a dealbreaker for me, more than anything else). I actually didn't mind the heroine, Bianca. Her friend Stephen was a bright point. Being the daughter of a flight attendant, I appreciated how true to life Bianca's job was and I also liked that she was an artist.

-What about the dude everyone loves?

I don't really remember anything about him except he was very tan.

-Who do you recommend this book to?

Obviously anyone who liked 50 Shades of Grey. I think it's a huge step-up from it (again, Bianca ain't a bad heroine). And anyone who didn't like 50, but likes the whole billionaire and faux-BDSM thing (I don't like either, hence why I'm not the audience for the book) will most likely love this book. So there!

Mostly are about sex and BDSM and to be honest, there was no real plot. Yes, it has Fifty Shades of Grey feels. I love FSOG, by the way, and I should've loved this. But, honestly, there's nothing really special about this book.

The characters are totally unrelatable. The insta-love insta-lust also did not sit well on me. It was kind of strange.

It could have been better because the author's writing style is good. The story just didn't work for me.

Good thing I did not set high expectations on this. I learned from experiences not to trust high ratings. :)

A fabulous view into Mr. Cavendish's head when he and Bianca just met. Delicious! thank you R.K. Lilley.

Merged review:

OOOOOh Mr. Cavendish aka Mr. Beautiful aka Mr. So-Many-Adjectives-That-All-Sexy-Billionare-Dom-Types-Can-Have aka Mr. Pervert... I mean seriously he sniffed her panties... in front of her... IN PUBLIC.... IN FRONT OF HER BEST FRIEND!!!! ROFL at the same time I love it!

Although this story falls in the same line as 50 and Crossfire series (and there are quite a few similarity) but the story is different as well.
Bianca is actually a strong female who (beyond the bedroom) refuses to take Dom Crap from Mr. Beautiful. I love her for that.
James as much as he wants to keep Bianca at arm's length he can't help himself. If anything he reaches to be with her more than Bianca is willing (only because she keeps waiting for him to dump after he used her up). But really he is a sweetie.
My favorite character is Stephen! What a best friend!!! He protects her body, mind and soul. I want to see him fall in love with an amazing guy in this series he probably deserves it more than most.

Fun, steamy, and entertaining read for fans of 50 Shades and Crossfire.

I like the author's writing style. It's easy to get into the story though I have slow moments on some parts. The romantic scenes are absolutely hot and well-written. However, I find this book a little cliché. It's like Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You mash-up. It's my pet peeve when guys are too possessive and stalker-ish even at work. James Cavendish is an example. Bianca is a flight stewardess, it's just ridiculous he makes a way to make sure she's safe. Nothing wrong on checking but have someone to follow you around? Nope.

I'm definitely continuing this and see the progress of the story. It's a good start.

Unfortunately, for me, this was just a little too reminiscent of Fifty Shades, Bared To You, etc.

Hot billionaire sets sights on beautiful ordinary girl, said billionaire pursues girl relentlessly, both have tales of harrowing pasts, nightmares, insecurities, throw a token best gay/male friend, a chauffeur driven SUV, guys hired to follow the girl around and a secret love of BSM that's been hidden from the media, oh and of course 'the other woman', and you've got yourself a pretty standard foundation for another erotic trilogy.

He lay down beside me, pulling me back to his chest and throwing his arm over me. “Mine, he whispered in my ear.

Sound familiar?

Don't get me wrong, I love a hot billionaire (who doesn't, right?) and I love 50 Shades and the Crossfire trilogy... but I also like a bit of variety and expect some imagination from an author.

For that, I've knocked off a star... but I could only force myself to knock off just the one. I did enjoy the book and it was super hot, so I didn't want to be too harsh!

"Even mosochists need lovers. What would a girl like me do without someone like you? Perhaps everyone is good for someone."

Some of the sex scenes, holy christ, they were scorching! James Cavendish knows his shit. I loved his two personalities, the tender lover and the bossy dom. All hail Mr. Beautiful!

“I’m going to ruin you. I’ll be your first, and I’ll fuck you so thoroughly that I’ll be your last too. You won’t want any other man after I’ve gotten my hands on you.

So there we go. If you fancy a bit of steam and don't mind the blindingly obvious similarities to a certain few favourite sexy trilogies, give In Flight a whirl. I will be reading the rest of the trilogy... probably... just not yet, I need something unique to get my teeth into next.

Not very impressed with this book.
Some dialogues God I couldn't believe what I was reading, e.g.:
1. “I’m going to tie you to my bed and take your hymen. I can’t seem to think about anything else (I would have run away screaming)
2. His torso was a work of art, his golden skin ripped up by tight muscles along every inch of it’s long, lean length. I couldn’t see a hint of hair on it, and I had a feeling it wasn’t from waxing. (so, how exactly had he removed the hair? With laser? And why this is important?)
3. “I gave my entire staff the night off, so we’re quite alone (So she was alone with someone she didn’t know in a house and nobody knew where she was. Danger danger. Run run!)

And basically after virgin Bianca arrives at James house he ties her, spanks her, have BDSM sex all night , unprotected because she trusts him. Hah?

4. “We need to do a few things before I fuck you. I have a health exam on the table over there. I’ve been tested. All the results are clean. Do you want to see it? It’s available for you. I want to bury my cock in you bare, if you’ll allow. You said you’re on the pill, right?
I nodded. “I am. I’ll take your word for it. If I thought you would lie about something like that, I wouldn’t be letting you tie me up and pound the V-card out of me, now would I?

Okay, seriously this is not romance or erotica.

Even innocent and naive Anastacia felt the need to talk and have some kind of written arrangement with Christian in 50 shades before he touched her.

Anyway, I will probably continue with the series, because after Bianca stopped being a virgin, things started being less awkward.

Reread time.

The coming on demand was more annoying than I remembered, but I still enjoy this crazy love story.
It was hard to remember that we weren't supposed to feel anything for each other when he looked at me like I was more important than his next breath.
*Reread*

Of all the 50 shade knockoffs, this one might be my favorite. (And much better than 50!)

I think it's the groveling that I love so much. Plus she remains so strong and keeps her sense of self despite the fact that he's an overbearing alpha male.
"You're tying me in knots, yet you remain unaffected yourself. Are you just waiting for a reason to end this? That's the impression I'm getting at the moment. And that drives me f*cking crazy, since I don't have a clue what will tip the scales against me."
