The Underworld is real.

Spencer Perry knew it was a long shot when she started searching for a way into the Underworld, the ancient Greeks resting place for the dead. But three months ago her boyfriend died and now she’ll do anything to get him back, even make a deal with the devil himself. Only, Hades isn’t what she expected, and neither is the proposal he offers. In exchange for Micah’s resurrection, all she has to do is spend every night for the next year down below. From the very first meeting the god makes her feel things she shouldn’t, but she takes the deal anyway, knowing in the end it’ll be worth it. Except, as soon as their bargain begins, strange things start happening. People are being attacked by invisible forces, and all signs point to the God of the Underworld being responsible. Has Spencer inadvertently unleashed hell on earth?

(I received a digital copy of this book for free. Thanks to author Chani Lynn Feener.)

This was a YA paranormal/mythology story featuring a girl and her dead boyfriend.

Spencer was an okay character, although I had trouble believing she was quite as special as she was made out to be. She also sounded quite immature when her best argument for why her boyfriend shouldn’t be dead was that it ‘wasn’t fair.

The storyline in this was about Spencer trying to bring her ghostly dead boyfriend back from the dead by striking a deal with the ruler of the underworld Hadrian. I did find that the pace in the book was quite slow though, and the emergence of the love triangle was a little annoying also. I did like the book in places, and we did get the occasional entertaining moment, but mainly the book dragged, and it took me a long time to get through it.

The ending to this was okay, although things didn’t go quite as Spencer expected.

MARK DOWN AS: Boys in books who seriously need to pipe the fuck down

UNHINGED incorporates and twists Greek mythology. It's a little bit Hades/Persephone retelling, but it's got big enough changes to not 'really' be one.

Unhinged follows Spencer Perry (which to me sounds a bit like Persephone and I don't think it's a coincidence) a girl who's boyfriend Micah has recently died but is still hanging around as a ghost. Determined to bring him back to the land of the living as a fully functioning, living human she travels to the underworld in order to strike up a deal with Hades to get Micah back.

PLEASE NOTE: I was really, really excited to start this book

1: Greek mythology !!
2: Hades/Persephone !!
3: ..... okay. I was just really excited about the Greek mythology elements

I ENDED UP BEING REALLY DISAPPOINTED (tragic !!!!)

---------------------------------------------------

LISTEN! The stuff I came here for (ie. mythology stuff) was actually really, really well done and I liked it.

Unhinged adds alot of "twists" to the typical mythology story. For example, the Greeks got heaps of stuff fucking wrong. Hades' is actually called Hadrian, and he's not even related to Zeus or Poseidon at all. Chiron is actually called Charlie. Cerberus is a good pupper.

I LOVED the new take on mythology. Mythology has been done and done ALOT (and thoroughly by popular authors like ) so I feel authors need to give it a new twist to really carry it. And I felt Chani Lynn Feener did that. The twists and changes to the mythology kept this feeling fresh and fun and also meant it wasn't too predictable.

UNFORTUNATELY THATS KINDA THE ONLY THING I LIKED :/

REASONS ME AND THIS BOOK HAD ISSUES

It was boring. Nothing happened, and I felt there was way too many reveals and things thrown in at the end and nothing in the middle. LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED !!!! It was just a lot of walking around and touring the underworld and it was boring. It didn't feel like things were moving along, and it also felt like the plot was a bit confused. I wasn't sure what we were actually reading toward, which made it frustrating. I didn't even know we were nearing a climax until it was randomly thrown in my face. Aka, plot structure was a little off.

Was not a huge fan of the characters. I found the main girl, so annoying and whiny. LIKE !!!! Tries to justify her wanting her boyf back with "it's not fair he's dead" smhhh okay good one. Anyway, did not see why everyone was pining over her because she was soo annoying. I did think she was kinda fiery in some parts, and I liked her stubbornness being incorporated as a flaw I just couldn't get into her.

As for Hadrian ........ no. Just no. I didn't find him "swoon worthy" at all. I foujd him creepy. And obsessive.

WHEN WILL LOVE TRIANGLES BURN IN HELL !!!! hell, we actually HAD boys telling girls to cheat/dump their boyfriends in favour of them. I hated the love triangle, and I hated how so much of this book was just this girl dealing with so many boys pining over her urgghghghhghghgh I hate that in books so much

Also, insta-love. Insta love AND love triangles you can see why I was bound to not enjoy this.

I thought the villains were weak, and were explained a little poorly. They randomly appeared and got a brief description and that was it. I needed more.

I didn't really understand the ending, which may actually be my fault because I was skim reading but still. URGH. Also, the love triangle survived the story and I want to die

((( they are just SO ANNOYING why do authors do it !?!? )))

This book included the "let me show you how to do this thing" trope which I fucking hate. I cringe everytime. Stop. Letting. People. Teach. Other. People. Things. In. A. Way. Too. Emotionally/Romantically. Charged. Angsty. Way

DESPITE THIS

Really, really liked the friendship between Sydney, Quinn and Spencer. Love to see good, strong female friendships. Loved that Sydney was the popular, blonde cheerleader but wasn't mean or a bitch but instead fun and well liked !! super cool !!

I think this is a book other people may definitely like. I feel the love interest is very up some people's alley (Just not mine) which may make this more bearable.

Personally I just found it a little bit too boring to get into, and there weren't really any characters I enjoyed or rooted for.

GIVING THIS A 1.5* RATING.

2.5 kinda disappointed stars

Ok, well where to begin...

I love retales of mythicals- how each one interprets the story differently, and how it can all be changed. It's rather fascinating.

But that said, I found it extremely hard to get into the book. It took me over 2 days to just get past the first 5-6 chapters, because it all consisted was of the protagonist- Spencer basically moaning and being pathetic. I honestly can't deal with the constant monologues. But then the story picked pace, and dare I say, it got rather interesting from there on.

The one thing I absolutely did not like was how we learned new information about a new character about a dozen chapters after he had been introduced (for ex. Brody. We didn't know until the very crucial point int the book that he was apparently Micah's best friend.) It was almost as if the author was thinking up new info to make the situation more emotional/interesting as the story progressed, with no regard to prior introductions.

And I really did not like Spencer- till the very end of the book. She is that exact kind of female main character in YA books that put me off them in the beginning. And she really doesn't change all that very much. And this might have been the one book where I did not find the main bad boy attractive. This is Hades (or Hadrian as he prefers) we are talking about! Freaking GOD OF THE DEAD! He showed no personality of an ancient god, more like a teenager throwing tantrums. It got really annoying after a while.

So why did I give this story 3 stars? Well it did get interesting like I said. I am mildly curious for the next book, so really I can't say anything about the author. We'll see how it goes from there.

3.5 stars.

Spencer's world fell apart when she lost her boyfriend and she will do anything to get him back. Even make a deal with the god of the Underworld, only he is not what she expected. Once the deal is made things start to happen, people get hurt and feelings start to change. Now Spencer has become torn on what she thought she wanted, what she might possibly want now and how she may be able to stop the hell released on earth.

I will say I enjoyed this but parts were a little hard to follow.
I do appreciate all of the research Chani did. I just wish there was a little more character development. I wanted to feel more emotion and more of a connection between them all.
Overall it was a good read.

*I received a free ecopy of this book from the author via Lovers of Paranormal in exchange for an honest review.*

I admit I had some concerns before starting this book, which I’ll get to in a moment. It sounded like it could be good though, so I gave it a shot, and I’m so glad I did! There were actually a lot of things I liked, so I’m just gonna list this out.

Number one, I’m very wary of YA books in which the characters are in high school (as opposed to stories set in dystopian, post-apocalyptic, or fantasy worlds) because I can’t handle immaturity or the typical high school tropes, like the “mean girl. (I think I must’ve had a vastly different high school experience than most authors.) Thankfully though, this book wasn’t like that. The characters were never too immature, but they were still realistic as high schoolers, and all the parts that took place in the school were realistic, not cliched or filled with ridiculous tropes.

Two, I like love triangles, but I was worried about this one because I wasn’t sure how Spencer could be so in love with Micah that she’d travel to the Underworld to get him back but then turn around and fall in love with Hadrian. Thankfully, this book wasn’t like that either. For one thing, even by the end of the book Spencer wasn’t in love with Hadrian, just interested, and the rest of her reasons for doubting her relationship with Micah weren’t even about Hadrian, they were about character growth and finding herself. The other reason the love triangle worked was because the author did an amazing job of portraying the progression of feelings so that it never felt sudden or unnatural. Spencer’s situation and emotions were all portrayed so well that I understood and I too felt what she was feeling for Hadrian and why she needed to do what she was doing.

Three, speaking of emotions, the author just did an amazing job of portraying the whole Micah’s death situation period—how impossible it was for Spencer to move on since the person she loved was still hanging around as a ghost, her depression/grief, how she pushed everyone away, the way Spencer’s parents were affected, how her friends were concerned about her, how Brodie started drinking, etc.

Four, there was so much character growth!

Five, I just liked the characters themselves too. Spencer made irrational decisions when she was consumed by grief, yes, but she was actually intelligent and rational otherwise. For example, when she was home alone and suddenly heard something that sounded like a window shattering, instead of going to investigate like most characters would, she was basically like, “Screw that, grabbed her keys, and ran out the front door to get away. As for Hadrian, he was just plain entertaining with his general godly cockiness and the way he liked to rile Spencer up, but he also had emotions and scars of his own. I think some other reviews mentioned that he ran hot and cold a lot, but I thought his moods always made sense. Sometimes he’d start opening up, but then he’d realize his vulnerability and put his metaphorical mask back on. Or he’d be enjoying his time with Spencer, but then she’d say something that hurt him, so he’d get angry and lash out.

Six, I adored the female friendships in this book! They were realistic, supportive, and shown in such a positive light.

Seven, last but not least, I really enjoyed getting to see this author’s version of Greek mythology and the Underworld. It wasn’t exactly a retelling of Hades and Persephone, but it shared some aspects, and obviously Hades was in the story.

See? So many things I liked. The only issues I had were a few continuity errors, like a phone being dead but then a character using the flashlight app a minute later. But those were never big things that would’ve impacted the story anyway. Certain things also felt a little too sudden near the end, and I wasn’t sure I quite agreed with some of Spencer’s thoughts.

Overall though, this was a great YA story with a bit of humor, some emotion, great friendships, a unique take on Greek mythology, and lots of character growth!

Recommended For:
YA urban fantasy readers who like Greek mythology, books set in the Underworld, love triangles, great female friendships, and mature YA characters.

“Your existence hinders on no one but yourself. Only you can write your destiny. Fate is a mere parlour trick designed to coax you into believing otherwise. There is always a choice.

I received a free e-book copy of Unhinged in exchange for an honest review for the We YA Books! club on ŷ.

Unhinged is the first book in the Underworld series and is based around Greek Mythology. Spencer Perry loses her boyfriend one night and is devastated. She shuts the world out and spends most of her time in her room. That is, until she travels to the Underworld via the Ferryman where she makes a deal with Hades also known as Hadrian. She has to spend 6 months in the Underworld in exchange for Micah’s life. Bad things start happening around her and all signs points towards Hadrian, but something doesn’t feel right.

I will start by letting you know that I absolutely adore Greek Mythology. So when given the chance to read and review this I immediately jumped for the opportunity. And it was one of the best things I’ve done this month.

The characters were felt so real to me. I could feel their emotions and could easily visualise what was happening. I enjoyed every moment of the book and had to put it down because my eyes were tired from looking at the screen for too long. I loved the development of Hadrian and Spencer’s relationship. Their arguments were laughable but the hidden caring nature that Hadrian possessed was presented quite well. I honestly don’t know what to think about Micah but I love Spencer’s friends. I wish my friends were as awesome as them (sorry if you’re reading this). I actually like Thayer, even though he is seen as a villain for most of the story.

There isn’t really anything I disliked about this book. I adored it from the very beginning and I need to get to the rest of the series soon. Unhinged definitely became one of my favourite reads of 2015 and I definitely recommend it to you, especially if you love Greek Mythology like me.

*I was given this book in exchange for an honest review*

I love reading retellings of fairytales, or a much loved tale taken in a different direction. This also goes for Greek myths. I’ve already read a few different retellings involving the Greek gods (such as Jennifer L Armentrout’s Covenant series, or Meg Cabot’s Abandon trilogy), so I was excited to see how Avery would take the popular tale of Hades and Persephone and turn it into an original and interesting story. And I have to say, I loved the way she put her own spin on it! She gives the characters different names (such as Hades being called Hadrian) and gives the myth a unique twist.

Our heroine is Spencer. After losing her boyfriend and love of her life, Micah, in an accident a few months ago, Spencer struggles to find a reason to get up in the morning. It doesn’t help that she still sees Micah’s ghost in her room all the time, giving her even less reason to leave the safety of her cave. Then, after a class on the myth of Hades and Persephone and the Underworld in school, Spencer has the bright idea of travelling to the Underworld to ask Hades to bring Micah back to life. Simple, right? Of course not! After meeting Hades (who turns out to be called Hadrian), he offers her a deal. Stay with him for six months, and he’ll bring Micah back. But instead of staying six months in the Underworld, Spencer spends 12 hours a day for a year, every night. And Spencer, only thinking about getting Micah back, agrees to this without really thinking it through.

And so the rest of the story is about Spencer’s growing friendship with Hadrian, learning more about the world of the Gods and trying to get back into her life after Micah’s death.

To be quite honest, Spencer annoyed the crap out of me. She wanted to have everything and was willing to do whatever it took to get it, not caring who might get hurt in the process. Thankfully she does grow by the end and learns about the price of having everything, but it was quite painful there for a while. She kept trying to pick fights with Hadrian and continually assumed the worst of him, so half the time she was with him she picked a fight that made him send her away. And yet, some of their scenes together just made me melt.

Hadrian has spent centuries alone, learning not to care about lowly little mortals. Yet there was something about Spencer that allowed him to open up his heart to let her in. You can tell he was just lonely, all by himself in that giant castle. Then there’s Micah, Spencer’s first boyfriend. His love for Spencer allowed him to stay above ground, even though they can’t touch whenever they’re together. He’s the good guy in this love triangle, the one who gets Spencer completely and whom she knows better than herself. There was a development in the end of this book that will make the situation between the three of them quite interesting in the second book. Even though I hate love triangles, I am hoping to the bottom of my soul that this won’t make me bang my head against the wall. Some authors are able to get them right. Please let this one be right!

I would recommend this book to those who love retellings, and have a fascination with Greek myths. If you enjoyed JLA’s Covenant series you might get a kick out of this. It’s a great take, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel!

Even though I was in the middle of TWO other books, once I heard about this one, I couldn't get it out of my head. I'm very happy to say that it did not disappoint. I especially like that the book's description is accurate, so read above for a summary! Disclaimer: I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The pacing was spot on: fast or slow when appropriate, with a great climax. Characters, in general, were intriguing and captivated me (some more than others, *wink*). I found Spencer very realistic, especially in regards to her emotional state. Honestly, I was a wreck after breaking up with my boyfriend of 3+ years; actually having your boyfriend/bestfriend die? And then being the only one that can see him? geez! Okay, moving on...I thought Spencer's other best friends, Quinn and Syd, were fun, relatable, and for the most part very realistic. I especially liked Quinn, so I hope there's more of her in the rest of the series ;D.

The underlying message of this story is actually very powerful and I think Spencer grows a lot. Is that the end-all-be-all? Not by any means, but I think it shows that this book is a gem, hidden in a YA/Teen paranormal romance genre. I can definitely appreciate her journey through loss, love, and recovery as an adult and I think people of all ages can relate.

As for the editing, I think this book is almost flawless. I was too engrossed in the story to stop and take notes, so other readers may find something I didn't.

So what does this book have? Romance? Check. Mystery? Check. Humor? Check. Suspense? Check. Reaper(s)? Check. God of Death? Check. Alright, I think I'll stop there, but seriously this book has so much to offer! Definitely recommend! Cannot wait for #2!

I fear I'm in the minority with this book.

Unhinged is a story that is based on Hades and Persephone. If you are not familiar with Greek Mythology, don't be afraid of this book, the author does a good job in explaining the myth, but she also adds in several embellishments and ideas of her own.

The book is told in the third person where the reader follows Spencer (a teenage girl), her boyfriend, Micah, her best friends, Syd and Quinn, Ferris and Hadrian. Micah has died in a crash and Spencer, miraculously survives. Spencer, takes his death very hard and has trouble coping. However, Micah comes back to Spencer as a Ghost. While their relationship is able to continue, the two are confronted by Ferris who is the ferryman that takes souls across the river into the Underworld to be judged.

Because there's nothing for you there. The Underworld is the land of the dead, Spencer. As of right now, you don't fit the bill. Lover boy on the other hand, he motioned towards Micah, does."

Spencer tricks Ferris and she is swept away down to the Underworld.

"She anticipated it when he disappeared, turning so that she was already reaching for the empty space next to Micah before Ferris's body took form there. He grabbed for Micah's arm, but at the last second, right when those bands of smoke tightened once more, she yanked him away. It took all of her strength, but she saw Micah stumble back and out of the Ferryman's reach, right before the world was ripped away around her."

Spencer wants to speak with Hades about Micah's life. She strikes a deal with him that if she will see him every night for six months, then he will restore Micah's life.

"During the days, you can go on as you usually do, be with your freinds, your family. But at nights, he flashed her a grin that would make the Cheshire cat envious, you're mine."

The book follows the characters throughout the deal. However, Hadrian has secrets that he is unwilling to share and other characters come out to play or reek havoc on the group.

Spencer's parents are briefly mentioned in this book. They are professors at a college, which surprisingly, was 45 minutes away. You'd think they'd live closer. Her parents took the death of Micah hard. Micah was a neighborhood boy who they knew well and watched grow up. They were so distraught that they immersed themselves into their work and were hardly around. Essentially ignoring their child. However, the father does show up in the later part of the book and does show some affection.

Hadrian is the God of the Underworld. Through the deal he made with Spencer, he begins to attend her high school. His character is a basically rude, obnoxious and says anything to irritate Spencer. His attitude is accepted and brushed off because he is a God and he is better than mere mortals. I liked how the author reminded the reader about the pride of Gods. I remember this from my high school mythological class.

There were some instances of bad sentence structure, poorly fitting words and inconsistencies. For example, Hades or Hadrian, in this story, is the God of the Underworld (Google it). However, there were several instances where Hadrian was the God of the Dead. Also, when Ferris comes into the story his story line is repeated over and over. This repetition became somewhat annoying.

The characters of Spencer and Micah are not really developed as much as I wanted them to be. It took me a while to get into this book. There was little to no character development. I was able to get to know Spencer and Hadrian much better since they were the main focus of the book. However, the other, remaining characters are still just supporting the story and they are flat, at best. For example, Spencer is always so intense when it comes to Micah. But I don't know who he is. The reader is told about their previous relationship and it comes out that they have known each other all their lives but that's about it. The affection between the two is lacking in this book. Spencer tells how she has never been drunk and how she is responsible. But a bit later, her friends tell of a Spencer who was a "party girl that is really good at the party-type games, like beer pong, cards, darts, dancing-"

The first 13% of this book was rather boring. I stuck with it and the book does improve. Around 50% in, the plot advances and secrets start to come to light. The ending of this book was pretty fabulous. In the end it was well worth the time spent, but the book is a bit hard to get into.

I enjoyed the writing of the author. She is very descriptive like when she uses the symbolism to describe the river.
"This river stands as the barrier between the world of the living and the world of the dead. It's a transitional place, one used to ease a soul into the understanding of their passing. Of their death. Once they're done here, they are greeted, judged, and placed in their respectable places, be it the Elysian Fields, the Asphodel Meadows, or Tartarus."

I found Hadrian to be unlikable, at times, and definitely not sexy. He had a thing for the skinny jeans and this was a turn off. He also would yell and get angry but claim that Spencer and him didn't fight. He called her Love but wouldn't tell her why.

Overall, I didn't love this story. It was slow to start out, slow to get to know the characters and slow to win me over. The book had a love triangle which really leans to the one side. The book was predictable. I wasn't a fan of the heroine, Spencer. Hadrian, for that matter, wasn't my kind of sexy. However, the book does pick up about 60% in and ,therefore, does redeem itself. I felt the ending was quite good, quite exciting. There is no cliff hanger but the reader will be able to tell that there is another book. I would recommend this to readers who love Greek Mythology. Who love paranormal and fantasy fiction. While, I probably won't continue on in the series, I did end up liking this book. I just didn't love it.

I received a copy of this book from the author and I love YA in exchange for an honest review.

I finished this book last night, it kept me up until 3am because I just didn't want to put it down but it left me feeling a little frustrated and I'm still wrapping my head around it. I did really enjoy the book, hence the 4 star review. Let me explain why.

First of all the synopsis was amazing and completely drew me in. The concept of a girl travelling to the underworld to rescue her boyfriend and meeting the God of the Dead along the way sounded great, especially to someone who's always been fascinated with Greek mythology and it felt like it had the potential to be an incredible story and I wasn't wrong. The author's approach was unique and intriguing.

Unlike a lot of YA novels, it didn't actually feel like one most of the time because of the complexity and depth of the characters. However, there were just a couple of things that got in the way.

The first problem I had was that the first couple of chapters were quite slow and it did take a while for me to get into the story. It started a bit too much like a 'high school' novel and it started to throw me off. However, I saw the potential in the story and kept going and I'm so glad that I did.

The lead character (Spencer) is suffering and that completely comes across from the author. She's guilty about her friends, family and Micah. She feels lost without the person she's grown up with and just wants to fix things. That's completely relatable - who wouldn't in those circumstances?

The supporting characters and fun and friendly and their support for Spencer is brilliant. They add a little fun and humour to the books and help to keep the story grounded in reality whilst exploring the paranormal in a believable way.

The exploration of the underworld is also fascinating, as is the author's interpretation of Greek mythology. It painted a beautiful picture (I want orange and purple trees!) and completely draws you in.

Then there's Hadrian who is by far my favourite character. It was Hadrian who hooked me into the story completely. I think maybe I fell for him before Spencer even realised she had some feelings for him. Who wouldn't? He's hot, broody, mysterious, caring, passionate, a God and in my opinion he's the perfect match for Spencer.

As a side note: I also want his dog!

Throughout the book there were a few small spelling errors and inconsistencies such as the wrong character name being used or a phone that was out of power suddenly working again but it wasn't enough to detract from the overall story since they were such small details.

Overall, it read well, although at times I did wonder if it would have benefited by being written in the first person.

The biggest problem that I had was the struggle between Spencer and Hadrian and that's just because it was so realistic. It's clear that Spencer literally cannot move on from Micah because he's still hanging around and no matter how she feels about Hadrian and how she's starting to second guess her relationship with Micah, she feels as though she can't betray him. As someone who loves happy endings, all I wanted was a hot passionate kiss between Hadrian and Spencer after all of the tension build-up and for them to get time to work on their growing relationship...although I'm really hoping there will be a sequel for that!

Some of the things that I loved about this story was the character growth and not just in Spencer. It's clear that she is a completely different person at the end of the book than at the beginning. At the beginning she's completely lost and broken but by being around Hadrian she develops a new strength and passion for life that's amazing to see unfold as well as discovering who she now is and what power she has.

When she uses her new power to protect Hadrian I think it's a moment when the author let's the reader in on just how much Spencer cares for Hadrian, but perhaps just doesn't realise it yet.

She's also not a typical teenage girl, which I love, she's sensible and actually runs from danger instead of towards it (for example the scene with the ghost breaking the mirror).

Hadrian also goes through many changes. His 'curiosity' with Spencer is clear but to me it never came of as malevolent or sinister. You can see over the progress of the book how she turns from a mere fascination to someone he truly cares about and is invested in. This much is clear from the numerous times he comes to her rescue, his personal tour of the underworld and how as time passes he starts to show more of himself, lowering more of his walls.

I genuinely care about these two characters. Sadly, the only character I never liked was Micah. I understood his situation but felt that he was needy and selfish most of the time.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story and getting to know these characters and I would love to read more. This is definitely an author to watch.

I loooved this book!!! It was amaaazing:D
If you had a choice who would you choose?
An ordinary boy?
or The Lord of the Underworld? The God of the Dead?
I would obviously choose Hadrian!!! :P
Why is Spencer taking so much time to choose? Cant she see how much Hadrian loves her? and how amazing he is? not to mention extremely hot and sexy?!
For some reason I always like bad boys in books so for me the choice is Hadrian duh no questions asked :)
Spencer should just get it over with and KISS him! :D

This is such a great premise for a story. Spencer's boyfriend dies, but his ghost visits her every night in her room. Spencer hears about people bargaining for their loved ones back while studying mythology at school and the idea is hatched: she can ask the god of the Underworld for Micah to get his body back. Naturally things go wrong once you start playing with death.
I went into this one fully knowing there would be a love triangle happening. And there is. It's a little clunky (for someone so devoted and in love she's pretty insta attracted to someone else, but I get the appeal of them having a body and all). The dynamics in here are great, and I loved the twist on mythology. It's pretty much everything you want from a YA paranormal, and I can't wait to start the next one.

(I received an E-ARC in exchange for my opinion and honest review).

Where do I begin?
I LOVED this book. The writing is amazing and relaxing to read, the story is unique and keeps you interested throughout all the 450+ pages!

I am in love with Greek mythology, and this story is a retelling of the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone. If you don't know much about the Greek gods and their stories, don't fear, throughout the book the stories that are mentioned are explained quickly after.
If you DO know a lot of Greek myths, be sure to go into this book with the basics and an open mind! The author takes every myth that is mentioned in this book to a new and unique place by adding her own style and take on them *cough* for example by mixing up their names and making them look fresh *cough*. This was something I really loved and appreciated, because it made the book more interesting.
This book really is a retelling, not just of the famous couple, but every mentioned myth!

The characters are really enjoyable and some of them very relatable.
The main character, Spencer, is in the beginning broken and holed up in her bedroom all the time. We see her, slowly but surely, coming back to live (if we can say it like that). She would do anything and then some to get her dead boyfriend back. She is frustrating at times, but can also make a lot of thinning-the-air jokes and be very sarcastic. She is very loyal. So loyal that she would go to Hades himself to get what she wants.

Which brings me to Hades himself *swoon*.
If I'm being honest i don't really know what to call him here so let's just go with Hades, M'kay? Okay!
So Hades... He makes my heart beat faster! There isn't really much i can say about him without spoiling something for you, but take it from me, he is SOMETHING!

We have so many other characters who I would love to go on and on about but my time is running out, so let's just say something quick about her best friends.
Syd and Quinn are the kind of side characters I always love reading about. They are the characters who keep the story from going to heavy, the kind that give the teen vibe where it is supposed to be.
They stayed with Spencer when she had a hard time and from the moment I met them they had a special place in my heart!

With all that being said about the characters let's move on to the story and plot.
I am one of those people who can't stand love-triangles. I can't stand heroines who are supposed to do something great but can't even choose between boys?!!
In this case though, I actually really enjoyed it. I stand completely behind a certain god with amazing looks and a very interesting personality...
This story was also very unpredictable. Every time I thought i knew where the story was going something happened and a plot twist took place! it kept it interesting though!

I really recommend this book to anyone who feels like reading about Greek mythology but with a new twist or are just YA lovers!

Honestly I don't know what to say? I guess I can start with how scared I was of this book. I am a HUGE Greek Mythology Geek you can say and I have this fear of some author coming and distorting the one greatest myths of all time. Rick Riordan did a amazing job at tying today's world and the Greek world together but he is possible in his late 40's and early 50's. Let's just say he's not a spring chicken unlike Ms. Avery. At the age of 22 I can honestly say her twist on a old tale was...refreshing.

Like a baby bird, I was scared to take flight. I was cuddled by my familiar little nest of Greek Mythology, reading books that fit my neat little nest. Until, one day I was asked to honestly review Unhinged by Tempest C. Avery. I never heard of the name before, where as I pride myself in knowing every Greek Mythology/Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance author, this revelation shook me. I first read the sample(first seven chapters) and was amazed in how the first seven chapters I was hooked.

Spencer Perry wasn't a hopelessly asinine juvenile as I expected her to be. She was described just enough for the reader to feel connected. Every emotion, question, OMG moment I was experiencing the same. Determined, sassy, and quick tongued, she was the perfect main character.

Hadrian was a delightful twist on Hades and that eight pack he was sporting was icing on the cake. Putting those two personalities together was interesting and then having them meet upon certain circumstances was a new spice to the love triangle genre.

If you are tired of your sparkly vamps or the last book you read just scared you because of how bad it was, maybe you just need something after finishing a great book then Unhinged by Tempest C. Avery is the book for you. If you have a thing against good books then this book is not for you because this book's pace is amazing as well as the characters. You'll be hooked by the first seven chapters or perhaps sooner. Ms. Avery has great potential and with time will be a force to reckon with in the literature world. Keep doing what you doing Ms. Avery and maybe they'll start making movies out of some of your books.

***I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the goodreads group Lovers of Paranormal, or LOP.***

Wow. This book just worked for me. I've always been obsessed with Greek mythology, and I took all the classes I could on the subject at USC (Go Trojans!!!). So I was super excited to read this modern day twist on the Persephone myth. I really liked Spencer and thought the depiction was spot on of her depression after surviving the accident that killer her boyfriend. I feel for Micah, and he seems like a nice guy... but Hadrian!

Sorry, there was no struggle over who to choose on that one. Spencer showed a lot of growth in this story as she worked through her grief and began mending relationships. She was strong, and I understood her choices and loyalties, even when I didn't agree with them. She was a bit slow to acknowledge certain things that were obvious to everyone else, but I think a bit of that was denial and guilt over her own feelings. She acknowledged that she was a new person after the accident and her plans from before might no longer be right for her. I was happy to see her start to question things and begin figure out what she wanted and resume living her life. That revelation at the end has me excited for next book, which I am going to purchase and download now.

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.

Firstly I would like to thank Tempest C. Avery, author of Unhinged for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.

Well, this book has a unique concept and I liked that a lot. Here we meet Spenser whose boyfriend died and all hell broke loose for her when he returns as a ghost. In order to save him she crosses the river and steps in the Otherworld with a reaper and meets the God of Death Hadrian and signs up s deal that can get her boyfriend back. But is that all about the deal? Will it be that simple with the God of Death? What will happen if Spencer falls for Hadrian?

This story was refreshing and I liked the vivid descriptive explanations that the author used for setting up the story and the plot. The plot planning is great and I liked the writing style of the author too. I never knew that Hades will be sexy and to-die-for handsome but the author made me believe that and the use of the name Hadrian instead of Hades made me want him more of course for myself! I adored Spencer’s character and her bravery; she is confident and has the control of her bearings. Micah was okay for me but Hadrian stole the show and I know the others will agree with me too. All in all a great read that is full of action, eerie suspense, spine chilling mystery and a totally new take on Paranormal genre. I would like to recommend it to all of you and hope that you guys will love it as well. Enjoy, reading!!!

***I received this book in exchange for an honest review, from Lovers of Paranormal and the author.***

So I forgot how much I love EVERYTHING Tempest Avery, aka Chani Feener until I read another book by her. Seriously, I haven't been disappointed yet and Unhinged was a great addition to her repertoire.

I always have a thing for the underdogs and Hadrian was a fantastic welcome surprise to the mix that was Spencer and Micah. To be honest, I didn't like Micah at all, like never did I say, oh yeah, maybe they should be together. Nope, never a fan. Sometimes I didn't even like Spencer for liking him. So yeah, I'm totally on the Hadrian Hale wagon....great name choice too.

I loved the hints of Greek mythology that Feener incorporated, especially since I'm on a Percy Jackson kick right now, it was a welcome addition to my current fanscination.

I LOVED her best friends. I can appreciate a good friend group, since I myself, have a great one as well. So Quinn and Sydney were *thumbs up*.

I can't wait to experience more Hadrian. It's my driving factor. I WANT MORE. Lol, Thayer and Micah better not screw this up for me! :) :)

5 fan stars!

What a great book. I loved it. I was very excited to be given the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review. I had already read another book by this author that I liked very much. So I knew I would like this book too. But I didn't just like it. I loved it.

If was nice to read a non vamp, non shifter paranormal romance. If you wanna read a paranormal romance with a different take on things then grab this book.

The author is such a great story teller. I literally couldn't put the book down.

I quickly took to each character. I like how Spencer's character grew through out the book. And I just fell in love with Hadrian.

I don't wanna spoil any of the book and give away too much.

I can not wait to find out what happens next and will be anxiously waiting for the next book in the series!

Sexy sarcastic fun

Can I say wow?! I was sucked right in and barely had enough time to gasp for air until the very end. The way the author used mythology and made it her own was incredible. I love the original twist she took and can't wait to read more. As for the characters... realistic, fun, sassy, sarcastic and sexy! Hadrian, omg where has this sexy bad boy been hiding?! He is by far the best character and I can't wait to uncover more about him.
I'll definitely be picking up the next book in this series. And I whole-heartedly recommend this to readers who love mythology mixed with plenty of fun, romance and drama.

Super, super awesome. I couldn't put it down last night. (Up to dang late reading it)

Hadrain had me from the get go. I was hooked on rooting for Mr. Bad Boy and all his bad traits. He was lonely...poor, poor Hadrian.

I have to many favorite lines from the story to quote and honestly, I didn't want to stop reading to make note of them.

Overall, I loved the book and really looking forward to more from T. Avery.

I loved this YA paranormal fantasy romance. It had great characters and a wonderful story about the underworld and Hades. I loved the imagery the author created and the journey Spencer went on. I didn't want to put this down until I finished it. Definitely a must read.

Warning may contain bit of spoilers..

Am I unhinged?
Honestly the word may best describe this book. As for me? Not even close. I felt like went from me into a crazed woman with a severe case of multiple personality disorder who almost broke a four hundred dollar phone quite a few times during this book. Refreshing to know I can still get so upset that I want to throw the book I'm reading. Breaking down the different personas I experienced during my intense adventurous journey with this novel.

The widow
Yes. Spencer is still in high school when she lost the love of her life, Micah , however she grieves and holds on dearly for her dearly departed love as if they were married for decades before the accident. Clearly in her own way going through the five stages of grief throughout the book. With Micah being around wasn't truly helping the process.

The hopeless romantic
Going to hell and back literally to try anything to save the love of your life, your soulmate. The one. Truly takes a lot of blind faith and courage. Adding on to asking the god of the Underworld to bring him back to life knowing that the chance was slim to none and the odds were high in favor of him snapping his godly fingers and killing her for even daring to ask of that.

The omg! School girl

Seriousness. The descriptions of Hadrian with his "eyes the color of blue food coloring" got me hooked instantly. In love with Micah completely or not that man was a god. Even if for the underworld . Back of her mind whether she'd ever admit it or not. Micah wouldn't ever be able to hold a candle to the yummy deliciousness of Hadrian. Cherry on top he shows up in her school the next day. Which brings Me to the next persona.

Oh no you didn't !

Although you might think I refer to how she reacted when he did show up. Like he was bothering her and stalking her. Seriously? The god of the underworld not only spares your life but grants your bargain. Wants to spend time with you and even suffers through going to high school and you complain. W.... t... f...?
Have you lost your mind?

Greek geek

Finally a novel that references history of something as great as Greek mythology and actually spent a lot of time doing the real research. I love the twists you did to make it your own instead of taking credit for history. It really is a wonderful twist to the mythology of Hades and Persephone. But better. Is it wrong that your versions of Greek mythology sounds way better then the actual history which is great in its own way? Bravo on that.

Indiana Jones

Hadrian 's deal for her to spend six months in the underworld could of gone so many different ways, he is the god of the underworld. She could of been his personal slave for that time. Yet she's taken on one adventure after another . Him showing the beauty and the pain of it. That the underworld can be a peaceful place and a worst nightmare based on what type of life you lived. That he had to live through seeing the good have a good afterlife and those who were horrible people feel what they caused others to feel.

"Lily Aldrin giving the your dead to me look"
(H.I.m.y.m.)
Hence the times I really wanted to throw this book which was on my phone so tech throw my phone. Hadrian yes in his own devilish ways at first tries to show Spencer his interest is way more then mere curiosity but after he literally brings her friend back from the dead for her . Instead of thanking him and running into his arms greatful. She actually blame him. Blames him! Like he'd be that low to stage that to be the hero? Really. Yes he's been labeled for thousands of years as evil but he does have a heart. Spencer made me feel most of the book that she was cruel to him and almost my opinion didn't deserve her.

You son of a bitch( yes also a lily aldrin)
But all in all I honestly said the words out loud to this story quite a few times. The twists and turns and the so many times of the almost kisses. Just when you get that perfect moments to be the perfect kiss you stomp my hopes and dreams into the ground. With a flick of the wrist Hadrian cab send Micah away yet he couldn't keep him away for like five seconds. You son of a bitch then as she agrees to bind her soul to Hadrian you not only stomp on my hopes and dreams but hit them with a train followed with a steam roller and then set them ablaze with that whole plot twister with Micah in the end. After she said yes to give it a chance . Then out drop it and leave me hanging.
Which leads me to the last persona.

The junkie

Cold turkey. Wanting craving dying for more. Tempest you clearly have a way with words becoming a horrible fix. Turning into a dire need and ache for more I cannot wait to continue the story. And see what highs are in store.

(Was a book for review. But greatful to read and honored to review. Five stars and you earned everyone of them).

3.5 stars. I thought this started slow, but by the end, I stayed up late to finish the book to see how the book was going to end. I would like to read the next book to find out what happens to Spencer, Micah and Hadrian.

Likes:
* Mythology
* Making distinction between Thanatos/Thayer, God of Death and Hades, God of the Dead/Underworld
* Quinn and Sydney being such understanding and constant friends to Spencer
* Ferris, Ferryman/Reaper and friend/servant of Hadrian

Dislikes:
* Another YA love triangle, but it did have unique twists

With-reservations:
death, torture, madness, depression, threats, violence, a few sexual innuendos and references, underage drinking,

Wow.

That's really the only word for this book. I loved it. Absolutely loved it. That ending is just amazing. I am currently dying with excitement for the second book in the series which I am definitely going to be getting.

Admittedly, at first I did find the story a bit hard to get into and I had to keep leaving it and then coming back. However, when I got to the chapter where the to-die-for (literally!) Haiden is introduced I was completely engaged with the story and excited to carry on reading.

Unhinged is a story told from Spencer, a girl who's still suffering from the tragic death of her boyfriend's point of view. I found the character of Spencer very interesting and engaging as you can feel the despair she still feels over the loss of her boyfriend. However, instead of just falling into a depressed like state like it may seem to her friends and family she is actually in a battle against the world to find a way to bring him back. I admired Spencer's tenacity and determination to get what she wants and give her boyfriend, Micah, his life back.

Haiden. Well. What's not to love about Haiden? Just your average run of the mill bad boy.. Oh, well, except for the fact that he runs the Underworld and is responsible for all dead souls, including Spencer's boyfriend. I found the relationship between Spencer and Haiden very well written. The disdain and almost hatred they have for each other to begin with contributes to the spicy, intense relationship they share, so that when we begin to see Haiden's slightly more gentle side such as through his panic when Spencer is about to get run over and the way he would do anything for her, even save her friends, we can't help but fall in love with him.

I felt sorry for Micah. There. I said it. I felt bad that his life had been cut off so short and that he is forced to spend his days inhabiting Spencer's room as a ghost with the loss of his ability to touch and feel things. Furthermore, reading about the growing feelings Haiden is having for Spencer, (even though she is clueless to them!) makes me once again feel bad for Micah. Obviously, he does himself no favours when running off to his dad all the time, but still, it is regretful that he may lose his love to the God of the Underworld (however breath-taking and drool-worthy that God may be!).

Overall, this book is of great quality and an amazing read. The character relationships and the past behind many of the characters is very well written and makes the book a fun, interesting and mysterious read. You will be on the edge of your seat in some chapters out of fright, you will be laughing out loud in some chapters due to the somewhat cheerful banter and you will be crying your eyes out and sobbing by the time you reach the end of the book.

I 100% recommend.

*I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review*

I give this book 5 stars!!!

This book is the first of the Underworld Series. Spencer is starting her senior year at school. Her boyfriend Micah, her best friend from childhood & the love of her life died before they broke up for the summer break. She spends her summer in her room because she is keeping a secret from her friends & family, Micah has returned as a ghost. Spencer then meets Charlie, a ferryman of the Underworld who has come to make Micah return for good, she doesn't want to loose him so hitches a ride to the Underworld to beg the God Hades who's name is Hadrian for Micah's life back.
Inspired by the myth of Persephone, Hadrian offers her a deal to spend 6 months of the year with him in the Underworld to get it. This is where the story really begins, Spencer doesn't know who she is without Micah, Hadrian makes her feel again after feeling numb for so long, he encourages her to find out who she is for herself. Bad things start to happen around her & her friends, she gets to explore the Underworld, meets the God of Death & is scared out of her wits by bad spirits. Her life becomes a big adventure!

I loved this book, once Spencer goes to visit the Underworld for the first time the story had me hooked! It was fabulous to read about Spencer's journey of self discovery & how her experiences made her think & feel differently as she became more independent. I absolutely loved Hadrian's character which is nothing like i thought he would be which made me even happier.

Tempest Avery has created characters which are described in such a way that it is easy to visualise & connect with, readers are given a fantastic descriptive look & personality which has you responding to them even down the small gestures which I found myself smiling at. She also provides fantastic descriptions of the Underworld which makes you feel like you are there, this is such an easy read story that a big imagination isn't needed - everything is provided for you & would make a fantastic movie.

This book has everything, romance, life lessons, mystery, adventure, suspense, a twist in the plot, sexy fun & sometimes scary characters & I loved the changes made in the well known, well loved Greek Mythology - I thought they were amazing!

Thank you to Tempest Avery for such an awesome story & for the opportunity to read to review it, I'm so excited & can't wait for the 2nd book of the Underworld Series which I am definitely going to buy on the day of its release.

Unhinged by Tempest C. Avery
Purchased: Kindle - $99 [Gift from author in exchange for honest review]
My Rating: 5 of 5 Stars

Spoilers!

What's it all about:
Greek Mythology is something that we all have learned in school, but it is truth or just lies? Spencer is about to find out when her boyfriend Micah dies and she will do anything to get him back. When Spencer meets Hadrian, or as we all know, as Hades, he isn’t what she expects. He makes a deal with her, that she just can’t seem to say no to. Within the span of one year Spencer must spend six months in the Underworld, not so bad, right? But then as Hadrian’s past comes back to haunt them both, more than just Spencer’s life will be in danger, but will Hadrian be able to save just her, or everyone she loves as well?

The Best Parts:
The plot line to this book was fantastic. I loved the use of greek mythology and that in our world we have it all wrong. It worked so well for the author so that she would be able to create whatever she wanted form these characters, but still kept the original stories in tact. Also, who couldn’t love Hadrian. He is perfect in every way, and I’m so sad to say that I LOVED Thayer! Ugh, he is such a bad guy, but so perfect at he same time. Ferris is pretty cool, and fun to interact with, and so are Spencer and he friends, but I found myself totally not caring about Micah after a while. I was angry with the ending because I didn’t need him in my life, and neither did Spencer! I just want my Hadrian <3

The Worst Parts:
The start of the novel was just a little slow, not very much, but enough to make me question where it was going, but it was fun and intriguing. You could say I was curious ;] It wasn’t until Hadrian came into the novel that I flipped. Like I totally had a freak out moment where I was like Whoa! I need him in my life! The rest of the novel was amazing, but then the end. The end threw me for a loop, and I was left hurt and confused, but you want to know the worst part? The part that made me more frustrated than anything else?! Spencer and Hadrian didn’t even kiss! UGH! I just needed that. That was the only thing that this book was missing. I just needed that little bit of contact. Ugh! Rant over lol

Also, the one thing that is truly hard for me to get through right now if that I received this book from the author and want the next ones in the series, but they aren’t on Kindle and it’s breaking my heart! I NEED THEM!

Final Thoughts:
Umm Final thoughts? Buy this book! It is so freaking good, and it is a full novel and it is wonderful, and I have no idea what else to say because I loved it so much. I was having freaking panic attacks at work because I was freaking out so much! I only have two chapters left at work last night and had a slight mental breakdown because I couldn’t finish them till I got home at 3:30am. Talk about buzz kill!

**I received an ARC of "Unginged" by Tempest C. Avery from the group We YA Books! in exchange for my honest review.

Spencer's boyfriend, Micah, just died but apparently, his soul is still around and Spencer can still see him. On her first day as a senior, during her class, they were talking about the Gods, particularly the God of the Underworld, Hades. Their teacher told about a God named Orpheus went down to Hades to make a deal so that Hades can bring his dead wife back to life. This gave Spencer an idea, a really weird and impossible idea. What if she can negotiate with Hades to bring Micah back to life again?

So, apparently, this is the adventure of Spencer going in and out of Underworld and how things had suddenly changed the moment she made a deal with Hadrian. A lot of unusual things happen to everyone around her especially her friends.

Most of the time, Spencer really really pisses me off. She's always like "without Micah, I wouldn't be able to do things, Micah the reason why I'm happier, Micah this, Micah that" like what the heck, girl? Without Micah you wouldn't have a life that's messy and you wouldn't have death chasing you around. And then there's Hadrian (Hades). Hadrian's just WOW I mean seriously? He's just so sweet and kind of mysterious but sweet to Spencer.

I find myself laying awake thinking about you. Wondering what you’re doing those few moments we’re apart. The thought of you harmed…it makes me livid. I can’t justify my reaction to you.

SEE WHAT I MEAN?! Who would've expect the God of the Underworld would be this sweet and caring, right?

I enjoyed reading Unhinged, really, but there were times where I really got bored but hey, most of the time I've enjoyed it 'cause I love adventures and mysteries! Also, I'm a huge fan of Greek mythology and this book kept me up all night though, I felt like I wasn't ready to finish it yet that's why it took me awhile to finish it. I'm weird, I know. I was not satisfied with the last page! I thought there was something wrong with my copy lol. Looking forward to reading the second book of Unhinged!

I highly suggest it to readers who loves Greek mythology retellings! You'll enjoy it!

It was a great distraction for me since I've felt like a needed a change of book genre because I always read NA/YA romance and it's been a while since I've read books about Greek Mythology retellings.

“Your existence hinders on no one but yourself. Only you can write your destiny. Fate is a mere parlor trick designed to coax you into believing otherwise. There is always a choice.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Spencer Perry's boyfriend is dead. He died three months ago, yet he's not quite gone. He appears to her as a ghost, from time to time, and she just can't let him go. Then an opportunity presents itself: the Underworld is real and there's a chance her beloved Micah could be brought back to life. All Spencer must do is make a deal with the Underworld's God, Hades. A small price to pay. Or is it?

Unhinged is the sort of book I would've appreciated ten years ago, perhaps, as a teenager who still dreamt of that all-consuming love that was a little out of reach. I'm almost twenty-eight now, though, and I've read several books since. I want and expect more these days.

I was attracted to the premise. I love Greek mythology and their re-tellings, and have Rick Riordan to thank for that. Unfortunately, I quickly became disappointed as I read this re-telling. I couldn't connect with the main protagonist, Spencer, and thought her trips to the Underworld could've been much more exciting. It lacked originality and caused a deep furrow of my brow as a love triangle ensued.

I hate to have to highlight the problems I had with the writing, too. It feels somewhat judgemental, particularly given the age of the author. I'd like to be encouraging. But there were many typos and many clumsy sentences, which spoiled the flow of the story. It needed another pair of eyes, just to iron these out.

On a positive note, there were a couple of interesting twists and a handful of secrets that made the book inviting enough to continue with. It was enjoyable to find the parallels between Spencer's story and the stories already known. I liked the way Chani Lynn Feener played with them and told us they were, for the most part, wrong. And it does sound as if the sequel could be more promising. I only wish I could've found it in my heart to give this book and its modern day Persephone a further star.

“Life is too short to regret the things we didn’t do, that we weren’t capable of doing

I received a free eBook copy from the author in-exchange for an honest review under YA Buddy Readers' Corner❤️

This is my first time to join read-to-review and give honest review. I am hoping that I'll give justice onto this. All of the opinions and comments below are my feelings while reading.

Before reading, I was excited when I read the synopsis. I actually had a high expectations with this book. But while reading, I almost lost my interest and that's the reason why I was slow in reading. I am giving 4.5 starbfor this book. Greek Mythology fascinates me and it excites me that Unhinged is a retelling Greek Myth.

I have some petty issues:

First, how come the Ferryman and Hadrian the ruler of Underworld are both young? I need an explanation for this! Haha. Is it because of their power? Can they change theirselves into young looking and pretty guy (not to mention according to Spencer HOTTEST guy she'd ever seen).

Second, I feel sorry for Micah. I feel like he was left out. Though he first left Spencer to spend time with her father but still it felt like they left Micah. I'm actually rooting for Hadrian (because I think he is one those boyfriend book material). It was actually good that Spencer keeps on reminding herself about Micah because that proves that she still love him, but that also proves that she doesn't want to entertain her feelings for Hadrian.

Lastly, I really didn't see it coming that Persephone will show up. Wow, and she's the evil one not Thayer. It's actually not an issue because it made me drawn to read and finish the book. It excites me. But it was on the latter part when she showed up.

Moreover, I love Hadrian's character. How he treats Spencer and how he argues makes his character look stronger (I'm actually enjoys it every time they argue). And I like Spencer too, although she needs a button to realize things around her, still, I like her character.

If given a chance to read the other books of Chani Lynn Feener, it would definitely my pleasure. And I would like to congratulate Ms. Feener for this wonderful novel.
