Samantha has become a newly signed author working for a publishing company in Seattle called Wolfe Publishing. She doesn't like the hustle and bustle of the city anymore so she decides to purchase a home and land in the mountains in North Carolina. Without seeing the property she purchases it hiring a construction company run by Lucian McClure to take care of any repairs that might need to be done. Without her knowledge Lucian is the alpha of the McClure Pack. Samantha has no idea that werewolves even exist. Moving to the mountains poses more problems for her than she ever expects. She gets caught up in a rivalry between the McClure Pack and the HighLand Pack run by Zachery. Apparently Zachery's pack has been killing different species of shifters and Samantha happens to have pictures of the murdered shifters in her possession. Samantha is writing her books on wolfs and their hunting skills along with folk lore surrounding wolves with werewolves. Taking the pictures of Zacher's pack, she had no idea what she had or the danger it put her in. Fortunately for her Lucian is there to protect her. There is a magnetic pull between Lucian and Samantha that cannot be denied. He will do whatever is necessary to keep her safe and with him always.
I write urban fantasybooks. I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist by day and a writer by night. I have found my passion fo writing and it takes the forefront on my life. I have created characters that anyone can releate with. I want people to see what I see in each of my characters. I just hope they bring you as much joy as they have brought me.
The Mating Call I loved this book, mainly because it was about werewolves and if you have seen my other reviews. You would know how much I love my wolves. This one was a little different, because the style of writing was different, with its unique way of telling the story. I liked how the author wrote the book from many different points of views; gives it my depth to the story being told in my opinion. It was a good story with a good plot, everything tied in well, really enjoyed the story and characters. I love Lucian, he just sounds so sexy and wolf. He made the story so much better and Samantha she was feisty and learned to adapt and accept her new life, and not mention her dreams! The other characters that are mentioned in the book, made me wish that they also will have their own books so I can read more of these characters. I am intrigued what their stores will be and who they will they end up if they find their mates. I give this five stars, because I really enjoyed the story the author wrote, kept me entertain and did not stop reading till I finished the book. So I would recommend this book to any werewolf lovers like myself to read this and add it to their collection. I am sure they will enjoy it; also if they enjoy a good alpha wolf; well two, one just happened to be bad. I surprisingly liked Zachery very much; he was good at being bad and crazy. What can I say I like an author that can write a good villain, which is just another reason why I loved the book. So if you enjoy that too you should defiantly grab this book. I received a copy of this book from the R2R (LoP) in exchange for an honest review.

Stars: 3.5
Overall: I want some hot Lucien loving tonight baby! I loved the storyline for this book because it was erotic, steamy & an adventure. When we first meet our main characters, all i kept thinking was, when are they going to rip each others clothes off because you could feel the heat coming off the book. It was really cute to see the way he took care of her in the beginning also. The only negatives for the book is that i felt rushed reading it and I felt that there was too many "extras" in the book. With the POVS changing and things being explained a little to much it took away from the overall story. Ok, now back to the good stuff. I LOVED LUCIEN and after this book it makes me want to go buy a mystery cabin and see what it has in store for me *wink wink*. The sex scenes were also very STEAMY and i caught myself blushing like a schoolgirl.
The information given for The Mating Call sounds great! I was looking forward to reading it since I love paranormal and especially Werewolves. I was disappointed for the most part with the book. There were several grammar and spelling errors that should have been caught in the editing phase. They tended to be distracting, especially when the book was speaking of Lucian and would say her instead of he or him. In my opinion Samantha raged and yelled too much in the beginning when normally questions would be asked. It's a bit hard to read in some spots because of the sections being bogged down with too much detail or detail placed in odd spots. I love knowing what characters look like but it can be broken up into multiple spots. Also, usually you describe people when they are looking at each other not after one leaves the room. There also happens to be a lot of spots that repeat the same thing over and over in a small area. The pace is a bit rushed, I understand novellas are small and you need to get from point a to point b but more filler would help spread out the plot and made for an easier read. It does get better as you read at about the middle but it gets really hurried at the end. More could have happened or something could have been expanded on such as her gift with dreams which is only mentioned in passing. The plot has great potential and the story would be great if it was expressed better. Brandi G.
I would like to thank the author and LOP for gifting me this book for a honest review.
I really like reading about werewolves, in this book we meet Samantha, she works for a publishing company and she just moved to her new cabin. On her first day at her new cabin she meets Lucian and his coworkers who were hired to work on her cabin. From the very beginning she feels a instant attraction to Lucian. Well turnes out Lucian is a werewolf and is the alpha of his pack and he is also very attracted to Samantha.
I really hate giving such low star rating, I really love reading about werewolves and all that good stuff, but this book was just really hard for me to get into. I was really fustrated at times, especailly with Samantha, as soon as she meets Lucian, shes really rude and yelling and throwing a tantrum that her cabin wasn't ready. Then she walks into her cabin is nice to Jordan and then she starts crying that her cabin is not finished. I just could not connect with any of the characters, I felt they were lacking. I also did not like that every moment they were thinking about sex. I also did not understand why Samantha and Lucian kept saying each others names when they were talking to each other and no one else was with them?? It drove me crazy. I really tried to get into the story and and I just couldnt. Thanks again for the opportunity to read this.
I received this book in return for an honest review LoP. Overall I think the plot line was good, it just needs help. I had problems with the misspellings of many different things, the punctuation needed some help as well. I also didn't like the fact that pretty much from page one Lucian and Samantha were thinking erotic thoughts about each other despite Samantha's initial hostility towards Lucian and his crew. But I guess you can think someone's an ass, and still think they're hot. I also wanted to know more about Samantha's dreams; what was the cause, has she always had them? Just more about the main characters in general would be good. Also there is some choppiness where the story needed a clear demarcation from group to group as things occured. Like I said, overall the plot line is good, there is more of a story here that could be fleshed out with some help. All the yelling kind of threw me off also, I thought it unneccessary when something could have simply been said. I liked the different shifter groups, how they identified each other, etc. Decent story if you're not a grammar nazi like I am.
I was given this book by LoP for and honest review.
When I read the blurb to this book I couldn't wait to read it. Sounded like a book that was up my alley and I couldn't wait to read it.
Yes it did have some grammar issues but there aren't many books that don't. I could tell what the words should be and I try not to take points away from that. So this is my honest review of how I liked the story.
Samantha wants to be a writer and decides to leave and go somewhere quiet and write her book. Her only fault was buying a house without looking at it beforehand. She hires Lucian's construction to fix her house up before she comes there. Only problem is that house is not ready. When these two meet they have an instant connection.
I liked the plot of the story and really liked the characters. I could see myself reading from this author again. I believe the title goes along with the book. So even though it was in third person and had grammar issues it was a pretty good read.
Favorite Line “The wolf comes to me always but when he leaves you are always there,
Samantha is a writer who has had enough of the city and decides to move into a cabin in the middle of nowhere. She hires Lucian (who is oh so sexy) to repair the cabin. As soon as she sees Lucian she can't get over how sexy he is. Crazy things start to happen from the very first night. Then she is attacked and bit by a wolf. Lucian can't figure out why another pack is after Samantha but, he will find out she's his mate. This was a quick werewolf love story that had some steamy scenes in it. If you like werewolf stories then this just might be for you. I hope this author continues with this series I would like to see this series go further!!
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP)
The concept of this story was good, but the book was a short read and felt rushed. If the author made it longer and explained more of the story line and character back ground I believe it would of been a great book. It was a little frustrating to read, shame on whoever did the editing for there were many grammar errors that made it a little hard to follow at times. Samantha and Lucian erotica scenes were also a little quick, they got to business without much build up and the last scene felt like someone else wrote it (not in a bad way I actually liked that style better). If there was a follow up book I would read it though to find out what happens to everyone (just make it a little longer with more back ground please)!
*I received a copy of this book for free from LOP for my honest review*
I enjoyed the plot of this book, and the ease of being able to relate to the characters. Samantha heads out of the city to find seclusion so that she can write her story. Lucian owns a construction company that Samantha has hired to make sure her new home is livable. Little did she realize upon arrival that her home was a disaster, and that Lucian was hot and she wanted him. As the story continues to evolve Samantha gets attacked by a pack of werewolves, the Highland pack. Lucian must make her a werewolf before she dies. This was a great fast read.

I was given this book from LoP for in exchange for an honest review. I had a little trouble getting through this book. Although the story line was pretty good, the way that it was written was weird. It was written sometimes from the outside looking in and other times it wasn't. It was pretty short, and the characters weren't well developed. It was almost like the author was rushing to get the book done.
I was given this book in exchange for honest review (LoP). Amazing Read! The only thing I didn't like that Samantha whine about everything. Lucian is the alpha and who is fixing Samantha cabin. I love Lucian! Zachary is another alpha who kills other shifters. It causes a war between the shifters.
I was given this book in exchage for an honest review (LoP. The thing that I didn't really like about this book is the way the author describes some of the things done in the book. Otherwise this book is AMAZING!!!! The storyline hooks you straight in. I couldn't put the book down.
I gave this 3 stars, for the story line. I have to say this line has to be the corniest of them all...“Take us to your leader, demands Jordan. Ok just had to say that. I was looking for a beam me up scotty after that. A short quick read. Some spelling errors. A line or two didnt flow or make sense. What I like about the story (and yes I could wish it was longer) is how yes Samantha was scared but she always accepted. Hell wouldnt you after seeing Lucian change in front of you. Maybe because of the shortness of the book, I felt the characters didnt have much to bind them together. I enjoyed them all just would have liked to see the characters filled out a little more. I liked Jordan alot since this is book 1, Im assuming there will be others.(smiles) The sex scenes were warm hot in some places. The story did stay on track, a wee bit of background on Samantha had me thinking in a different direction but ok not bad. Lucian showed tenderness right from the start towards Samantha. Will I read the other books in this series, maybe. I love shifters and would like to see where Ms Stephens will go with this story line. Enjoy
This book was pretty good. The description sounded amazing and I was beyond excited to start reading it. Once I started reading it I found the writing to be a little awkward at times. I am not a huge fan of a story being told in third person. But once I got past that and just kept reading I really did like the story line. The relationships and twists and turns were very good. They kept you coming back for more. The description was very in depth and helped you really picture the exact look of the setting. Some of the lines were pretty cheesy but hey it added some humour to it that I wasn't expecting and kinda enjoyed. There were some places where I kinda had to re-read it because of spelling mistakes and sentences not making sense. After re-reading it I was able to kinda get a feel for what was meant to be said. It took a little bit of the enjoyment away from reading it for me but only a little. I did actually truly enjoy reviewing this book for the author. And I am curious to read all the other books she has out. All in all it was a good book and I would recommend it to people to read.
This is the story of Samantha and Lucian. Samantha is a newly signed author who moves out of Seattle to North Carolina in the hopes of finding a peacefully haven to write about the wolf pack she has been researching. The contractor/ builder she hires to update her new home is unknown to her the Alpha of the local wolf pack and they are immediately drawn to one another. Unfortunately for Samantha there are other werewolves about and these are not so friendly and she has to rely on and trust Lucian to keep her safe. This is a very sexy book with frequent bouts of getting down and dirty! I really enjoyed the story but I did feel that at times it needed a little bit more editing. I found the style of writing unusual as its almost as if a narrator is telling the story at times and some readers might find that off putting.i would love to read more from this author though as I found it a refreshingly different tale. 3 and a half stars from me
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review by the GoodReads group Lovers of Paranormal (LoP). I was not compensated in any way.
Samantha has moved to the mountains of North Carolina where she hopes to write in peace. The descriptions used have left me wanting to go to discover those mountains. Also after Samantha meets the men working on the renovations of her new home, it left me wanting to scope out the men that live in those mountains.
Marie soon sucks you into the story as it unfolds. You’ll find yourself unable to put it down because you have to find out what’s going to happen when Samantha starts seeing wolves. Her editor is an interesting woman. She has you wondering what her agenda really is. It’s a fast read that has a great ending. It leaves you wondering if you will see more of them in the future.
I was giving this book for an honest opinion by R2R (LoP) I hate to say it but boy was I glad this was a short read. To me the story had no character the people within were plain. It felt extremely rushed, if it would have been twice as long the story could have been worked out so much better. More details for example, what's up with her dreams? The story itself was not bad, but the way it came cross was not my cup of tea. One of the main things that distracted me were the dialogs, now when I talk to someone I don't mention their name every single time. It has a lot of grammar issues that bugged me as well. I hate to have to give a bad review and the only reason I gave it two stars it's because the author has actually written and published a book and that took hard work and guts.
I received this book as part of a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ First Reads giveaway.
I like the idea of someone persuing their passion, which is what interested me about this book; Marie is a full time professional, and writes on the side. That being said, I did not enjoy the book. I found the concept of the story interesting, however I found the writing itself to be on the weak side, with grammer and tense errors, and several instances where the sentences just plain did not make sense. The story had a choppy, awkward flow to it, and really seemed to jump from one thing to another, without any smooth transitions.
I was a bit disappointed with the book, but overall, I didn't dislike it. The characters seemed fairly difficult to me to get involved with. They seemed one dimensional. The story was interesting with all the shifters, but the suspense seemed a bit under played. I had a few issues with the editing, but it wasn't so bad that it wasn't possible to read. I thought the sex scenes were fairly dull and quick. I feel that with a few changes to better develop the characters, as well as a good editing session, this book could be a lot better.
Note: I received a free copy of the book for honest review.
I received this book in return for an honest review LoP. I am a lover of weres and shifters but this book just did not do it for me. I had a really rough time getting through it. There were a lot of grammar and spelling issues, the story was rushed, things were repeated over in the same short period. The book needs serious editing. The plot line is good and with more work could have been done much better. I did not care for all the instant yelling nor the dislike of Lucian and Samantha but total attraction to the point of vulgar words instead of hot and steamy. But like I said with more work this book could be a whole lot better and with good editing even more so.
I received this book free for an honest review (Lop), and it was a page turner, I could not put it down. Samantha moves to North Carolina from Seattle, the contractor she has hired to fix her house is Lucian, and he has a secret, he is a alpha werewolf, and Samantha is an author doing research on a wolf pack. The romance was hot, and the plot is good. The book is short, and seems a bit rushed at times, but I still would recommend this book as a fast, fun read.
