Primal Passion

Rate this book
An FBI agent. A dominant billionaire. And a virgin scientist.

Deni Parker doesn’t have time for anything but her cutting-edge scientific work, and that’s how she likes it. So when she’s called to the altar—years ahead of what she expected—by the very intimidating, and far too handsome, Price Bennett, Deni’s more than a little unprepared.

As CEO of a major security firm and heir to one of the largest fortunes in the world, Price is annoyed when the Grand Master orders him to transport the disorganized scientist to the ceremony to meet her partners. It’s only when they arrive that Price realizes he isn’t a messenger—he’s been matched with Deni.

Gunner Wells has been in love with Deni for years, but he’s resisted giving in to his attraction. When he is summoned to be married, he’s delighted to discover Deni is not only a member of the secret society, but one of his partners…along with billionaire playboy, Price.

Their strong personalities clash—in and out of the bedroom—but Price and Gunner have to put aside their overprotectiveness, and Deni must put aside her pride, when someone tries to stop her research—with deadly methods.

Same story, different characters 3.5 stars.

As with the previous book this features a secret society which promises you access to people, money and power but first you promise them your future, when it's your time you get called to meet your new life partners.
While this book is very similar to the previous one I liked these characters a lot more. Deni is the genius scientist who's been too busy with her research to have a life, any kind of life she's twenty-eight and never been kissed.
Price is a rich playboy as well as being CEO of a security firm he also works for Trinity Masters.
Gunner is an FBI agent and has held a secret crush on Deni for years but held back because of his allegiance to Trinity.
So the characters made this book better than the last one but otherwise it's basically the same book and that's my problem, I wish I'd just read this one and skipped the previous one then I would have enjoyed this more but as it was it was just too similar.
Also while I fully understand why the society has to be kept a secret despite the necklaces and rings they hand out, I can't understand however why the relationships have to be such a huge secret, in this day and age a ménage relationship might draw attention for a while but it would soon settle down and I think it's unfair that one partner has to step back.
As with the previous book all sex revolves around Deni there's no M/M.

The Hs are smart and the clever h is a virgin. I liked the tease between the men, clearly they will have a relationship. The h was too sweet and adventurous, seemed out of character. Liked the plot with bombs and evil OM.

This was a great menage romance, with a twist. We have all the makings, the best friend, the absent minded-intellectual, the gruff, reclusive, mysterious, billionaire. But we get to know them as Gunner, Denise/Deni, and Price. Their Trinity is formed, from what they figure, for Denise to complete her research, and her men to look after her

Lots of sparks bounce off these three, and when they are together, it is electric. Their unique personalities compliment the other, and the men really need to think and keep on their feet with Denise. Overall, a fun and sexy read that I ate up in one setting!

4 stars typed of loved it!! I love the whole intrigue of secret organizations. Can you even imagine a group of people preset to be together for the rest of their lives. You dont have to think or date, mostly its all set up for you. Trinity Master a group of like minded people with the same goal, to make a significant impact on the world. A menage that will spend the rest of their lives together. Each of the three brings something to the table. (some of the science.. was a got a lil bogged down) But I loved this book and would recommend it.
Price is pretty rigid, Gunner pretty laid back and deni is pretty flighty. (smiles) They all seem to fit each other. The two males will have to come with their A game, not only are they battling Deni and her need to discover cures but to keep her alive as well.
Deni being book smart from the age of 6, isnt very social she has her work cut out for her, as she learns how to deal with her two alpha type men. She keeps believing there is no “real threat, will she see that she could be wrong before its too late?
In a menage relationship you would think their would be some jealousy, but the men seem to feed into each other and the care, love and passion for Deni. Voyourism at its finest..and the sex just about sets the air itself on fire. It touched on a lil bit of BDSM, more alpha personalities than anything else. Gunner and Price...hmmm a couple of scenes had me thinking.. winks Id love to know how that plays out.
The writers showed some awesome talent in mixing science, danger and passion into a story that will keep you reading... Enjoy

I abandoned the first book in this series at about 70%. The three-way arranged marriage via secret society concept intrigued me. Unfortunately, the book used it more as an excuse for three characters to launch immediately into sexual escapades without any personal connection. By the time the external plot showed up, I didn’t care about any of the characters and called it a wash. However, the series premise still intrigued me, so I decided to give the next book a chance.

For multiple reasons, including a prior friendship between two of the characters, the relationship worked much better for me in this story. Even the characters themselves were much more developed and appealing as individuals I could root for. I should note, however, that the evolving friendship between the two men, Gunner and Price, was more engrossing as a relationship arc than the clichéd insta-love both men have for Deni.

And I suppose the Trinity Masters must be on to something because these three’s combined lives set off a chain reaction of events for the external plot that was both believable and interesting, playing to and relying on the strengths of each character. Overall, a decent blending of story and ridiculous threesome premise, and I’m willing to give the next book a shot based on the short epilogue in this one.

Primal Passion is a fantastic romantic suspense by Mari Carr and Lila Dubois. This is a M/F/M menage though, so it may not be everyone's cup of tea. Ms. Carr has provided readers with a well-written book loaded with phenomenal characters. Deni is a scientist working on a cure/treatment for various diseases. Price owns a major security firm. Gunner works for the FBI and has been in love with Deni but couldn't do anything about it. All three belong to the Trinity Masters and are brought together at the ceremony to become partners. Things come to a head when Gunner and Price learn Deni is being stalked. Their book is packed with drama, humor, smokin' hot sexy bits, action and suspense. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from Mari Carr soon. Primal Passion is book 2 of the Trinity Masters Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The first two books of this series have definitely had some sort of weird, stilted relationship that reads less like a partnership and more like two dudes passing one woman back and forth, to be quite honest. The relationship in this one was slightly less awkward than in Book 1, but only slightly with the caveat that it would be hard to be more awkward.

Also there were some formatting issues with my Kindle edition, where the first letter of a new chapter would appear on a page all on its own. Threw me for a loop the first time I saw it for sure.

The writing itself is serviceable if not spectacular. The plot is overblown as one would expect in cookie cutter romance, even the poly-v kind.

Denise is a stem cell researcher that has no time for anything but work, and that’s just fine for her. She signed up for trinity masters so she wouldn’t have to think about finding the right person. She’s been friends with Gunner for years who is an FBI agent. Pierce has been sent to fetch her by the grandmaster himself. Of course all 3 get matched. Their jobs are to keep her safe so she can continue her work as she’s been targeted by a crazy man wanting to shut her down and maybe even harm her.
There was more sexy scenes than the previous book which I enjoyed. It was a bit obvious at times, but was still a sexy, suspenseful at times story. I liked how the 3 of them figured out their relationship since Denise and Gunner already had a relationship starting out.

If you want alpha males/ménage/danger this is the book for you
Gunner FBI agent friend to Dr Denise Parker research scientist Price CEO Security specialist firm
All three joined Trinity Masters when they were younger powerful group who helped them in their careers the only clause is when they are called to join a marriage of ménage they are honoured bounded to go no outsiders know you belong to Trinity Masters even Gunner and Denise didn’t know the other was a member
Denise too caught up in her work doesn’t bother dating at all she has caught the eye of a extremist her guys Gunner and Price must protect her and in between they waken her sexually and boy does she finally know what all the fuss is about
Great sex scenes
I would definitely recommend this series has bit of everything

Another of the Trinity Master's triads. Fored into a menage relationship by their allegiance to the Trinity Masters Society, Price, Denise and Gunner don't believe they have much in common. The honeymoon is a little problematic since Denise has never had a lover, but soon their passion for each other overcomes any obstacles in the bedroom. Of course there must always be some kind of problem and in this case Denise's life is in danger due to her work on stem cell research. To me, it was a predictable book. Not much heat for a book named Primal Passion.

Hard to believe I could fall more in love with the Trinity Masters series than I did after book one, but here I am. I absolutely adore Deni as a main character. She's quirky, devoted to her work, young, and yet we get to see her really open and blossom for her men. I also loved the ambiguity, yet possibility, of more emotion evolving between the male characters. I want to see more of these ménage marriages pan out to have equal sexual attraction among parties. There was enough spice, action, and emotion to have me page flipping as fast as I could!

Have you ever finished a book and were mad that you finished it? That's what putting this down felt like.

I will point out -- it does follow the same general pattern as the first, but the authors' continuous poking at the subplot has definitely piqued my curiosity.

Pattern: 3 really successful people, not ready to be called, not thrilled but change their mind relatively quickly, and someone is in danger.

OMG! Each book in this series just keeps on getting better. The Triad of Deni, Price and Gunner is absolutely explosive. The three blend so perfectly that it's hard to believe that they were put together by one person and they didn't know each other all their lives. I can not wait to read the rest of the books in this series!

The Grand Master is incredible in the matches he makes.

This triad, Denise, Price and Gunnar is intriguing. A scientist, a security expert and an FBI agent seemingly have nothing to pull them together, but their sexual attraction eases the way. When a crazy Reverend takes an unhealthy interest in Deni, things go from bad to worse very quickly.

Who knew that when Price was summoned to pick up Deni...Denise that she would become his. And meeting her in her lab also had him meeting Gunner. They didn't know it that day, but the Grand Master wanted them as a family. This book is so amazing. This trio balances each other out. Two alpha protective men....and their super sassy intelligent virgin. Well...definately no longer.

Tricky Tricky Grand Master.. bringing these unsuspected 3 together. I could totally see Gunner and Deni together but Price was definitely a scary wild card. Until their guards came down and they came together to find why they were chosen... trust is the key.

This heroine alternated between being too stupid to live and having a spine. She was entertaining and dealt with her over protective husbands pretty well.

If you read the first book you will want to read this one.

This is the marriage of Deni, Gunner and Price. Their marriage will have to survive someone trying to stop Deni's work with serious and deadly consequences.

If you like book 1 you will love book 2.

There is passion and power in three

Deni Parker thinks she’s got it all figured out. Working on the cutting edge of science, she has little time for anything but work. Luckily she doesn't have to bother with dating because she's a member of the Trinity Masters—a secret society that has not only helped her career, but which will identify the two people with whom she'll spend the rest of her life in an arranged ménage marriage. When her invitation to the introduction ceremony is delivered—years ahead of when she expected—by the very intimidating, and far too handsome, Price Bennett, Deni’s more than a little unprepared.

Price didn't join the Trinity Masters to play messenger. As CEO of a major security firm and heir to one of the largest fortunes in the world, he’s annoyed when the Grand Master orders him to transport the disorganized, virgin scientist to the ceremony to meet her partners. It's only when they arrive that Price realizes he isn't a mere messenger—he’s been matched with Deni.

FBI Agent Gunner Wells has been in love with Deni for years, but he’s resisted pursuing her. When he arrives at his introduction ceremony, he's delighted to discover Deni is not only a member of the secret society, but one of his partners…along with billionaire playboy, Price Bennett.

Their strong personalities clash—in the bedroom and out of it—but Price and Gunner have to put aside their overprotectiveness, and Deni must put aside her pride, when someone tries to stop her research—with deadly methods.

Review:

First can I say this book kept me under its spell from the very beginning to the very end.

The action and suspense was riveting, but the coming together of these three opposite people are what really draws you in and keeps you rooting for them. The chemistry and sexy scenes that develop between these three were hot and makes us wish we were in Deni's shoes ;) I would love to see more of these characters down the road, I think there is so much more that can be gotten out of their story.

Excellent and highly recommended book! Thank you Mari and Lila and keep them coming!

Ooh la la, this book is HOTT!!! And when I say hot, I mean so hot my husband asked me why I was blushing while I was reading! LOL This is a great read, especially if you like those sweet but also very dominant males! These two guys knocked my socks off! I think I’m in love!!!

Deni is a super smart science nerd who lives for her research and that’s pretty much it, which is why she’s ever been in a relationship and is still a virgin. But she feels she has time and doesn’t need to date because one day she will be called by the Trinity Masters to meet her two perfect partners the grand master has chosen for her. Then she gets her letter early and is placed with two equally dominant and powerful men. Men she has absolutely no idea how to handle!

Price and Gunner are the ultimate alpha males. Price being a billionaire who is the CEO of his own security company and Gunner who is an FBI agent have been paired with sweet shy virgin Deni. Gunner is elated since he already knew her but Price isn’t so sure. Together they must come together to build a strong lasting relationship and along the way they must each learn their roles in that relationship.

Gunner and Price! OH. MY. GOD. I seriously LOVED them! Not only are they demanding (in a good way) and totally dominating but they are sweet and caring and totally taken with Denise. It's really sweet! And I really enjoyed Deni! She's no pushover so it was fun seeing her challenge her men. She really had them wrapped around her little finger!

This was a great read! I recommend this to ALL erotica lovers! You haven't read erotica until you've read these two ladies! This series is unique and so so sexy and seriously, the characters are fantastic! I'm SO looking forward to the next book in this series and I would LOVE to see more m/m action in the future. This one hints at it but not very much! I just think it would take it to a whole new level! :) I'm looking forward to reading more ladies, now hurry and get the next one done...PLEASE!!! ;)

This story picks up where book one left off. Another trinity, being introduced by the Grand Master, ready to begin their lives together. However, as in book 1, they also have trouble following the beginning of their relationship.

Deni is a scientist, trying to cure diseases that wreck lives. Seems a noble mission, right? Some don't seem to think so, and others try to cause trouble for her, try to stop her work. As intelligent and driven as Deni is, she also seems to be very naive in certain aspects. She isn't like most heroines you find in a secret society, she isn't polished and sophisticated. Underneath all of the experiments, and test tubes, she is just your average awkward nerdy girl, who happens to have a little something up her sleeve!

Gunner is a friend of Deni's, and she's always been attracted to him, but there has always been something that's held them both back from pursuing more. Price, on the other hand, is a stranger to Deni, who shows up in her lab, and gruffly begins making demands. What, at first, seems to be an impossible situation, slowly begins to become more.

As awkward as this relationship started out (I mean, really, they seem so different) when everything started going awry, this trinity really seemed to gel together. Everyone had their place, and it all just seemed so....perfect. I loved how real Deni seemed. I loved how protective the guys were of Deni. I really loved the danger, and the secret society aspect of it all. The mystery and intrigue really kept me interested, and held my attention. I'm already looking forward to diving into the next book in the series!
