Both Hayley and Daniel can’t avoid the immediate instigation of the attraction between them.

★★★★! Layers, book 1 of 2. A pleasant surprise & addictive story following Daniel Stark & Haley’s captivating courtship with off-the-charts sexual tension!

“I can always take them off if they’re an issue.
“If you put it that way I think all of your clothes are a major issue, Hayley. For fuck’s sake, get rid of all of these issues.

Books in Stark Series should be read in order:
Book 1: Layers
Book 2: Inner Core

Layers (book 1) is the story of recent College graduate Hayley Grace who while in the process of getting a job at a magazine gets a call-back from Stark Software Technologies for a second interview with no other than its CEO and founder, billionaire Daniel Stark himself.

She goes in for interview and realizes that Mr. Stark and she had met at the previous job orientation. She ends up turning down the job offer and instead he asks her out for coffee.

Story follows them as what was initially, for Daniel, meant as coffee in hopes of a one-night stand quickly takes a different turn when Hayley, recently sworn off casual hock-ups but alert to the way the game is played, isn’t interested.

Daniels steps up his game and so an interesting and captivating relationship ensues. Follow them through ups and downs as they get to know each other, deal with their pasts and different lifestyles. Only to have their world come crashing Ƿɲ..

“You look delicious, I say, and am greeted with an admiring stare.
“No, that would be you.

DANIEL STARK: 34 years/Founder & CEO Stark Software Technologies/$$$$/blond hair/hazel eyes/63/tattoo/scars.

Daniel Stark surprised me or maybe the story did! Yes, he is a mogul and a self-made billionaire, but it was much absolute pleasure following him as he went from controlling hot-headed business owner, to man with a crush. He has a past and a vulnerable side, but it didn’t remind me of anyone else. He felt unique somehow!

Seven words to describe Daniel: visionary, commanding, impulsive, reflective, flawed, caring and captivating.

HAYLEY J. GRACE, HALES: 25 years/recent College graduate/Creative Director’s assistant/illustrator/blond hair/brown eyes/56.

Hayley Grace, Hales and I were off to a slower start, but in the end I feel she is perfect for Daniel and she proved it time and time again. Seven words to describe Hayley: Broken, naïve, cocky, bold, opinioned, charming and lovable.

Off-the-charts sexual tension yet their first sexual encounter as well as the rest is not very descriptive! But it didn’t need to be. Daniel and Hayley’s relationship is fast-moving and addictive while feeling real. Their attraction and sexual tensions is palpable and I felt butterflies reading about them falling for each other.

This is a 5-star read for me. It took me longer to connect with Hayley and there were some side characters that felt off (Daniel’s secretary) and some logistics and as mentioned sex scenes weren’t descriptive, yet it all worked for me! I didn’t want to put Kindle down. It ended in a cliffy or sorts, but I loved Daniel’s POV at end and I can’t wait to see what book 2 Inner Core has in store.

Excellent plot! Sizzling sexual tension throughout! Interesting heroine! Very memorable hero! A heart-warming tale! A pleasant surprise! I am highly recommending!

“Hales, he purrs quietly with closed eyes, his nose grazing my flesh. “I am so yours, more than I’ve ever been mine.

Daniel sighs. “Well, tell him he’ll have to wait. His shirt is wide open now. He unbuckles his belt, looking at me with a predator’s glee.

My insides tighten and I swallow hard, murmuring, “What are you doing, Daniel?

Ԩdz.

This is another one of those really intense romances which completely consume me. I will say that for the first 10% or so I didn’t fully connect. It felt a little too reminiscent of Fifty Shades and Daniel Stark’s name a little too close to Damien Stark and I feared that we were about to embark on a well worn and rather too familiar path but all of sudden it just seemed to click and the author really got into her stride and owned the story. Daniel and Hayley came vividly to life and I slipped comfortably into their story and just lost myself.

 photo layerscollage_zps596736a1.jpg
Daniel Stark is our mercurial billionaire he’s searing and intense, very short-tempered with his staff, an absolute perfectionist. He’s a self-made software billionaire, a workaholic and his wealth and past experiences have led him to trust no one and not to allow anyone to get close. His ‘relationships have mostly been a series of very expensive call girls and he has pretty much decided that he’ll never fall in love. Until, one day, Hayley barges into his life muttering expletives as she spills coffee down her shirt.

“Why me then? I ask in a small voice.

“Because it’s you. He smiles, his eyes narrowing tenderly as he kisses me again, more profoundly. “Because you’re simply you, and there’s no one else I want.

Hayley –well. I really loved her. She’s a college graduate just about ready to embark on her career in fashion journalism and she’s not about to be treated like a doormat by Daniel Stark. She’s feisty and she knows her own mind but she’s about to be swept away by Daniel Stark and there’s very little she can do about it. She’s got some great friends Tasha and Ian and they lend some wonderful humour to the novel and Ian, her gay male model friend, really does have the best lines.

“Biatches, Ian murmurs, smiling. Turning to face me he declares, “I’ve missed you lately, gorgeous, with you being Danielized and all. Come over and give me some of you.

I cheerfully bend to smack a kiss on his mouth. Yes, I have to agree with that. I have been completely Danielized.

Both Hayley and Daniel at the beginning are fairly closed books to us we don’t understand the way that they behave but, as the titles imply, layers are slowly peeled back to reveal the inner core and, gradually, we get to know these two pretty well. There’s still some mystery here definitely only half a story is told so far to all be concluded in Inner Core. I think Sigal Ehrlich did a fantastic job of really showing a couple gradually falling in love the way they move from intense yet fairly unemotional sexual hookups to something far deeper, much more personal was beautifully done. I really felt their growing connection, how much Daniel couldn’t bear to be parted from his Hayley and how much she grew to rely on him and need him.

When I come up for air after a few extended moments I manage to finally say what was processing at the back of my mind throughout the day. “I can’t believe how much I love you. His embrace tightens and I rest my head on his shoulder whispering, “I love you so much, Daniel.

It’s probably fair to place this one in the adult contemporary genre rather than erotic romance sure there are sex scenes and they are hot but they’re not pages long, not huge on details and a few of them are fade to black. This novel is all about the intensity the power of the love this rather dysfunctional couple feel for each other. Of course, there is the ubiquitous cliffhanger things do not end well for Hayley and Daniel but, thankfully, book 2 was released just a few days ago.

So, if you enjoy a sexy, brooding billionaire having his emotional defences torn down by the girl he didn’t know he needed or wanted then I think this one will definitely work for you. I read it in one sitting once I connected with this couple, I found it really hard to put down and am going to embark on Book 2 straight away.

Complete series for #99cents
Amazon ->
“Fairy tales do happen the slutty princess who did not believe in love, who used to take advantage of innocent men, who finally got enchanted by a handsome, slightly deranged prince They’re both committed to an asylum in a faraway kingdom, doing it like bunnies till the end of days.

So if that’s not enough to classify this as a savvy, sexy yet sweet story about two people meeting by feisty chance
Some of the coffee manages to spill on my white blouse I murmur “Fuck me, under my breath.
“Is that a request?
Standing there is the very picture of hot, tall and sinful.

and exploring their connection because they find in one another more than amusement and instant chemistry, they discover in each other what they weren’t looking for much less thought they wanted or needed I don’t know what is.

Although I really enjoyed Daniel and Hayley’s interactions and the appearance her best friends Ian and Tasha, I was a bit disappointed at the halfway mark because other lots of cheeky and carnal exchanges, I knew very little about our hero and heroine other than the fact that Daniel is a mercurial domineering and impulsive man and Haley just didn’t believe in love. Not that this bothers me at all. Their sweet and tender moments were perfect and led them to a deeper connection. And we do eventually find out more about the recluse and witness how he converts Hayley into a love believer in his very unique Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde way.
“Too deep, too emotional, too cosmic, too manic, too compatible. Just like a pair of gorgeous termites.

But as all fairytales, their swift and torrid relationship comes to a halt, mostly due to a problem of their own making through lack of communication and distrust. I thought I would be disappointed in Hayley predicting a girl induced irrational and stubborn tantrum, but I’m glad I was proved wrong. Together with her friends she put her feelings into words and gave a logical explanation to her emotions. The down side to this is that she resolved to lead with her head and not risk her heart by keeping Daniel at arm’s length and leaving us in a cliffhanger.

We are left with Daniel’s solid determination to get her back in what I foresee as a very enjoyable second half of their story.

“I am so yours, more than I’ve ever been mine.

Layers is a story about Bleeding Beauty and Prince Harming
"You know , your usual boy meets girl story Boy sends girl mixed messages for a while. Boy driving girl insane with all of his contradicting cues. Boy goes from I don’t kiss if it doesn’t mean anything to coming all the way to girl’s first day at a new job just because he had to kiss her "

A bet lost has Hayley running into Daniel, thinking he is someone else she lets it all her sharp tongue rip which leaves her with her foot in her mouth
“So Hayley , what was I accused of so far? Being arrogant, condescending, and a stalker. Can’t wait to hear what else you’ll come up with before tomorrow. There’s a lot for me to live up to …

Hayley thinks she has Daniel pegged but she didn't see behind his wall, he's a very private man, only sharing himself to those he thinks worthy...
“He’s intriguing and charming in a bad boy kind of way, I say, pondering, “and absolutely hot. He acts as though it’s more than just plain attraction, but I’m pretty sure he’s the biggest player.

“Oh, a male version of you.

and as she gets to know him, layer upon layer is revealed, ones that tug at something deep inside her, making her want to run as much as she wants to stay.
“I am so yours, more than I’ve ever been mine.

With all good things comes the bad, the balance to make sure we appreciate what we have, and Hayley and Daniel are no exception, they are tested but the end doesn't look at all good for the pair, could they overcome the hurt they cause each other and concentrate on the good???
“Too deep, too emotional, too cosmic, too manic, too compatible.

I honestly didn't know what to expect with Layers, kind of went in blind and I have to say I was more than pleasantly surprised. This book was full of sexy banter, laughs, and some swoon worthy moments. I loved this pair, there was so much more to Daniel than meets the eye and to see him unfold just dug him deeper under my skin. Hayley was funny, sassy heroine, that had two best friends that loved her unconditionally, wanting to just have fun, but Daniel had other plans for them. I was kind of surprised to learn that there was a second book, which sucked because I wasn't gonna get my happily ever after. While I think their reactions we're a bit over the top, who am I to really judge, everyone handles things differently and I had to just watch it all unfold. An overall intriguingly sexy read.

Review
I had to read this book because of being part of the tour for Stark #2 and it was a good book. I thoroughly enjoyed the author’s writing style and how her descriptions were crisp and clear. It was easy for me to picture everything going on in my head as the story progressed

I believe the problem I had with the story only being “good and not “great is that at the same time I was reading another book that the plot and premise were almost 90% the same. If I had to choose between the two books, it would definitely be this one hands down but by reading both at the same time…did me in.

The sex scenes were smokin the fights were incredible and the banter with smart ass comments were to die for! I love Hayley and Daniel together.except for one little pet peeve I have about something..it bothered me a bit when Hayley would think in her mind and call him “D. That kinda irked me.

Re-Cap
Hayley loses a bet and gets roped into going to an interview with company tour at the great Stark Industries. While there, she breaks from the crowd to get a cup of coffee and gets caught by a hot guy in jeans. They chit-chat while Hayley starts dissing “Mr. Stark unbeknownst to her that she really is speaking with Daniel Stark.

Once Daniel sees Hayley, he knows he has to have her and the banter starts. He loves that Hayley gives it back to him and doesn’t hold back her opinions or sharp tongue. There is a problem though.Daniel doesn’t do relationships because of trust issues and Hayley has never done relationships in the past.

So you can just imagine the problems these two face when bodies and minds collide. They end up both addicted to each other and can’t seem to get enough in and out of the bed.

But what is any good book in need of? Drama.angst.and yes folks we have that here. By the last quarter of the book we have enough angst to choke a cow! But what’s in store for Book #2? I’m with you.I have no freakin clue!

Wrap Up
I’m happy I read the beginning of this series and can’t wait to start the second book, and I promise this time to read this book by itself. Maybe we will have a 5 Star with the next one!!

description

I thought Sigal Ehrlich did a fine job with her debut novel. There is a book two which is due out this coming January. I found her writing strong and the pace well done but I found the story to be just okay.

Daniel Stark wasn’t as dark as I wanted. I guess I like my billionaire’s much more twisted. He does have a bad temper with his employees and has been burned in the public so he doesn’t do relationships. (I wasn’t so taken with him because I kept waiting for something bad to happen. Haley internally referring to him as a “psycho kinda added to that feeling.) Truthfully he's pretty normal and the sex scenes weren't very steamy.

Haley was a very likable main character and doesn't annoy a reader. There’s some blushing, some fancy cars, a trip to Baja and of course the BIG misunderstanding which leads to depressed days, etc.

The ending wasn’t a happy for now scenario but I’m confident that these two will have an hea. As for continuing with the next book, I’m not so sure since they are already on their path back together.

Overall, this was an okay read nothing crazy or memorable.

Cliffhanger:Yes
HEA:

This book was exactly what I was in the mood for. A well executed CEO book that kept me intrigued until the very end. I have to wonder why I never checked this book out and the only thing I can come up with was that I was burned out on the businessman/CEO plot line during the release time. This was released last October and I think after the 50 Shades phenomenon, there was a mega explosion of similar books trying to cash in for a LONG time. This year I think I may have only read just a couple of this kind so there was an appropriate buffer period which allowed me to start to think about reading one again. Which leads me to Layers. The characters were well done, the plot had me guessing about several things throughout the book, and the heat was impressive and exceptional. Her best friends caused quite a few chuckles at their unabashed lack of shame and coarseness. This is one of those books that I really savored while reading.

Hayley: This lady is something else. She's the perfect match for her crazy, blunt, and dirty-minded friends. In the beginning of the book, she's a recovering one-night stand girl. She's a disbeliever in romance and love and I can only describe her as cynical. In the past, she's only gone for casual sex but now she's trying to turn over a new leaf. This is something that had me wondering throughout the book. Why did she feel this way? This is never mentioned again after a near hook-up in the beginning of the book. Which made me wonder: with two wonderful, still in love parents, why did she become this way? I kept waiting for the explanation, and it never happened. I can only conclude that the author left this revelation for the next book.

Daniel: I'm usually a fan of the tall, dark, and handsome variety of Heroes but this blonde guy was undeniably drool worthy.

He's young and successful with his own software company, charismatic and
extremely intelligent, witty, vulnerable and strong willed. Or as Hayley likes to put it, completely psycho!

"Seriously, I'll get fired with only two days of seniority."
"So come work here." He is still in high spirits.
"Not for all the money in the world, even if I have to work the streets."
He looks at me entertained. "And why is that, Hayley Grace? Please do tell."
I radiate my sweetest smile at him. "Because you're kind of...psycho. You know...insane..." And that is an understatement, Mr. Stark.
He lets out a husky, low laugh, and then steps over to wrap me in his embrace. "You are just too sweet."

His moods are ever changing from anger and impatience with his employees to humor, bossiness and sweetness with Hayley. She likes to refer to him as Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde and I think that's a pretty accurate description. This guy can be a total jerk at times. He never lets himself get close to anyone-in his position of wealth and power he's been used more than once by people he cared for and it's caused him to be cold and just as cynical as Hayley. The perfect pair!

When he and Hayley meet she's not intimidated, shy, or scared. She's in his face blunt and honest and she's like no one he's ever experienced. She makes him laugh, which is an almost impossible feat and impresses him with her wit and strength. Not to mention the animal attraction that explodes between them from the moment they lay eyes on each other. (Let's not forget that.)

Standing there is the very picture of hot, tall and sinful. White tee, jeans, and the most alluring bad boy stance. Something in his crooked smile inexplicably leaves me dumbfounded. For the space of a moment, I am lost in him.

Even the simplest kiss led to some explosive passion. It made for some heart pounding moments with plenty of butterflies.

The book is named layers for all the underlying layers of Daniel Stark. What you see is definitely not only what you get. As Hayley peels back the layers she finds a kindred soul, and someone that she comes to care for quickly. This is something she never anticipated happening and she's scared, doubtful, and thrilled all at the same time. She's a whirlwind of emotions and she has to wonder: Is she just in a sex fog? Has all this stellar sex brainwashed her mind or is she really feeling these never felt before emotions? I have to say, I don't blame her for wondering after some of the nuclear sex they have.

As much as they find they have in common, they're still tentative about laying their hearts on the line and leaving themselves exposed. But Daniel is convinced pretty quickly that it's worth the effort and what Daniel wants....Daniel always gets. It's like trying to fight back against a hurricane. Pointless and reckless. Does that stop her from trying? Of course not-She's Hayley! I'm not a fan of weak heroines and she is definitely not one of them.

I had several unanswered questions, and there's one heck of a cliffhanger. The good news: book 2 is already out. So don't stress-and don't delay. When you're in the mood for a good read with an alpha businessman, blunt and funny heroine with LOTS of steam...look no further. This one will most likely be for you.

Ok this would have been a 5 star review for the story, characters and the writing. It was really good and Daniel Stark was a good alpha but what stopped me giving the extra stars is that last page - yep there is a BOOK 2 and if I had known that (we are not told) I would have waited until book 2/3 were released. Its well know I don't "do" trilogies but what I don't like even more is the fact that we don't know we are reading one.

So Sigal Ehrlich please be up front next time and let the reader know its more than one story!

Update: Sigal Ehrlich has contacted me since my review - books will be numbered to make reader aware that there is more than one in series. I will amend my review in due course. thanks to Sigal Ehrlich for taking time to take on board my comments.

Stark Trilogy #1
 299 pages
 release date: October 10, 2013

To reach the core of inner beauty one must first unravel the many protective layers.

About the Story...

San Francisco

description

Hayley is living in a little apartment with her best friend Tasha.
She's working a temporary job until a dreamjob at a magazine comes her way.
She wants/needs to give up those empty one-night-stands. Because that's the only form of relationships she's had for as long as she can remember.
And when she accompanies Tasha to a job interview at Stark Software - her caffeine addiction leads her to the boss's private kitchen, where she accidentally runs into the Boss-Man himself - without knowing that he's THE Daniel Stark - Billionaire Business Hottie!

description

description
one Daniel's many cars - a Bugatti Veyron

They start talking and flirting and they end up having coffee together the next day.
Daniel doesn't do relationships. But he's so completely charmed and surpised by Hayley - he wants to give it a try.
They start a 'thing' - both not really knowing what kind of thing it is - but we can see that they're falling for each other.

description

Hayley thinks that Daniel has some huge mood-changing problems. He's adorably sweet one minute and mad and angry the next. A bit Bipolar.

There will be lots of problems on their way to a happy end....
BUT there won't be a happy end any time soon..... ☺☺
I have one word for you:

description
☺☺ CLIFFHANGER ☺☺

But that's it - I'm not telling you anything more - you have to read it yourself to find out what happens

description

MY THOUGHTS

I really loved it.

description

The first impression you get - well - maybe not you - but I got it - as a huge Fan of Fifty Shades and Crossfire etc.: it's just the same!!!
Girl falls in love with a rich guy - a guy with hidden problems - she has a best friend - and another gay best friend - they text all the time - they have sex a lot the book is even called Layers??? Shades? Layers? hm just take out the kinky stuff from FSOG and it's just the same!

BUT that doesn't make Layers bad!!! Not at all - I loved it!
It was a wonderfully romantic and sexy and funny and moving Romance!!

Daniel is such an adorably funny & hot guy!
Of course he has problems from being abandoned by his dad when he was a little boy and he never really had a girlfriend - he only used professional escorts - because they couldn't hurt him. So all this 'having-a-girlfriend-thing' is completely new for him. But it's also completely new for Hayley too. She's used to uncomplicated one night stands.
And to see the two of them doing this relationship thing together is really sweet and sexy and funny and cute

We have LOTS of sexy moments in the book - sexy moments in his office - sexy moments in Mexico - etc.

description

Of course there are also very sad and frustrating moments....

description

This book was a really great & sexy Romance - go and get it!!!!
You won't regret it.
Even the writing style is interesting - and the way Sigal lets her characters talk in that funny way I really enjoyed reading it!!!

I CAN'T WAIT FOR BOOK #2 TO COME OUT - VERRRRY SOOOOON PLEASE!!!!

I heart Layers HARD!!

Well that was a lovely reading experience! I definitely enjoyed meeting the hot, sexy Mr. Daniel Stark, and I’m thinking it’s time to consider updating my laminated list of favorite fictional males because HOLY HOT MAN IN BOARD SHORTS Layers was DAMN good!!!! I want the next book now!!

Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, let me tell you about this book

In Layers, we meet Daniel Stark who is the owner and inventor of Stark Solutions. He’s been listed in Forbes for his achievements and has amassed a wealth that has rivals trying to get a piece of his fortune. He doesn’t trust easily and forming any meaningful relationships hasn’t quite worked for him in the past. So when he crashes into Haley Grace as she tours his company and sneaks into his private kitchen for a quick caffeine fix, he’s taken aback by her bold assessment of Mr. Stark realizing she doesn’t quite know he’s the target of her harsh opinion.

Haley never intended to interview for Stark Solutions. To be frank, she lost a bet and found herself interacting with this mysterious Stark employee named Daniel and telling him how pretentious she finds the owner of the company to insist on a private kitchen. The nerve!

When she’s later asked to return for a second interview with the owner himself, she’s shocked to find that the employee she talked to in the kitchen is Mr. Stark himself. What ensues is her turning down a job offer and ripping him a new one for making a joke of her and disrespecting her time. However, as Daniel slowly drops his guard and exposes his passionate yet playful side, Haley finds herself intrigued and reconsiders her opinion of him. There begins a romance that’s not without its share of obstacles.

There are so many different layers to him; he never ceases to amaze me. ~ Haley

I immediately came to enjoy Haley Grace as a character. I like her openness and confidence, but what stood out most was her honest and accurate assessment of Daniel. Her mental dialog, which at times could be a bit harsh, was never off the mark. I sort of found her mental babble about him humorous. Haley’s not shy about sharing how she feels about Daniel and admitting he can be a bit arrogant, volatile with a side of psycho. However, there’s no doubt a genuine attraction and deep seeded longing for him exists and she ultimately begins to have strong feelings for Daniel.

Have you lost your words now, do you need a moment? ~Daniel

Daniel Stark is the quintessential attractive character that’s gorgeous, refined, and confident - yet can also be domineering and impulsive. I actually liked the edgy side to his character. It made him exciting and unpredictable which is how I like the leading male to be at times. But most importantly, I liked how Haley responded to Daniel and how she handled his mood shifts with tempered patience. She was never intimidated by him but rather would confront Daniel in a way that resonated with him. Haley had an ability to step back and view him from a careful distance to try and understand his responses to people and situations. They ultimately fell into a passionate yet playful relationship which was fun to see unfold. I enjoyed their moments together and reading their playful dialog created a light feeling to balance the heated moments. Exciting!

The sea, the sunset, our closeness, him, his words. I want to stay in this moment forever.

Sigal Ehrlich as a graceful, yet vivid way of making the reader feel like they’re in the moment with her characters. She’s not overly descriptive, so I can only describe it as knowing the right words to use at the perfect time to create that feeling where the reader is right alongside the cast as they journey through their day to day. She times her back-story reveals carefully to create the proper flow and pacing, which ultimately creates a solid grounding for feeling in the moment with the story.

In addition, I truly enjoyed the secondary cast, especially Tasha with her genuine ability to be the right kind of friend when Haley needed it. I would have loved to see more of Ian, but I have a feeling I’ll get my wish in the second book, so I’m looking forward to seeing more of them.

Lastly, I knew going into it that there would be a cliffhanger. However, for some reason, the cliffhanger in Layers didn’t annoy me as most cliffies often do. I guess because Sigal Ehrlich did what authors should do in their first installment, which is to lay the foundation for the story, make you fall for the characters, don’t overwhelm the reader with excessive drama, yet whet your appetite for more because when you turn the final pages of the first book you’re not quite ready to let the story go. Well done! I can’t wait to read the continuation of Stark!

2.5 - 3 STARS

It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great either. I was expecting so much more from some of the great reviews, i'd previously read. I found the story pretty boring for the most part. I was confused almost from the beginning. The transitions from one thing to another jumped all over the place. I just found the writing tough to read as well as the storyline being very slow. Even the sexual encounters of the characters were quick and not much there.

I mean I've read an entire book and only figured out that her father was a physician at the very end of the story when he asks her to come to his in office clinic to talk. I mean she spoke of her parents and never mentioned the man was a doctor. She and Daniel say they love each other, but they know very little about each other. He's reluctant to talk about much of his past other than his mother, and she's not spent much time with him doing anything other than having sex, which has lead to very little conversation about her family.

I also felt like this book was a combination of Fifty Shades, Crossfire and the Stark Trilogy, but with their more slow aspects.

There were some really funny moments, which made me laugh out loud. I often wish that some of the things she thought internally Hayley would say out loud and would make the story more interesting. These are the only reasons I didn't give it one star. Anyway, I read it quickly and that was one of it's few saving graces.

I've been told that the second book gets better. I'm crossing my fingers, otherwise I will have wasted a lot of time reading this series.

4.5 Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde stars. Daniel and Hayley meet under interesting circumstances and form there the story swirls almost violently around them. Daniel isn't used to Hayley's direct, sassy and alarmingly in your face attitude which compels him to chase her. Hayley is trying to keep Daniel at bay before eventually giving in to him thinking she's only going to indulge in the physical pleasures he can offer. Didn't anyone tell Hayley that even the best of intentions don't always work out the way we plan?

Daniel Stark is an alpha male but he's a bit more than that. I found myself comparing him a bit to Ethan Frost in that he's such a genuinely good man. He is a bit of a dominant, wealthy, sexy man character type, but I have a weakness for those so it all works for me. He doesn't expect to care for Hayley but he doesn't necessarily run from it, either.

Hayley doesn't even know what to do about Daniel when she realizes who he is and that he is after her in a very intimate context. After the prodding from her two closest friends, she chooses to take him on in a physical sense. The problem with even the best laid plans is that they can go awry. She can't help the feelings she develops for the demanding, charming, sexy and sensual Daniel Stark.

I totally enjoyed the read and had to know what happened next so read the next book, too. I liked the way things moved, took shape, exploded and came back together again. I was sucked in from the first meeting at Daniel's company to the end of this book. I was left wit the need to know which is why I bought the second novel and ended up swallowing that whole in a matter of a few hours.

3 'Meh' Stars

Audiobook:
Stars: 1
I'm really hooked on Audiobooks right now. The idea that you're free to do other tasks while actively listening ROCKS. But, unfortunately the narrator ruined the experience. For example, lowering her voice way too deep to portray Daniel Stark was laughable. And her portrayal of 'besties' Tasha and Ian wasn't much better.

Story: 3
As for the book, It started out just okay. Our strong, intimidating Hero meets our twenty-six year old unlikable, party girl heroine. Her rude indifference speaks to him on a deep level...lol. Unfortunately, their attraction grew too 'mushy' too quickly for me. I suppose the fact that they're both flippin' gorgeous helps.

Hayley's BFFs Tasha and Ian are so annoying and immature-acting, much more in-line with early twenties when instead they're all edging up to thirty. Shit, I don't know, maybe it was that damn narrator that threw me off.

Steam: 1.5
It was a bit waaaayyyyyy too tepid for my tastes.

Conclusion, this was a two-parter. I started part 2 and was tempted to give it a DNF rating. There's nothing wrong with it, please know that. It's just that unfortunately I related to the angsty circumstances and got triggered as all f*ck.

Hell, maybe it's these serials that push on 'after that first blush of love' propelling our H/h into one drama/trauma after another, when I suppose I prefer to leave our lovers holding hands and walking off into the sunset.

Loved this Trilogy

Adored the Stark trilogy, from the moment I picked up the first stark book I was transfixed by this tale.. I was with Hales/H and her psycho D/Daniel from the beginning and through all the ups and downs was silently willing them on from the sidelines, This series captured my imagination and my heart, I also seriously fell for the besties Ian and Trish loved that pair of goons. this was a lovely heartwarming series that I enjoyed immensely.

Wow! What the hell did I just read?
I don't even know where or how to begin. When I started reading it, I was certain that the words will just flow for the review, but now I find myself stuck.
Let's see...
Layers is a not so good combination of Iron Man, Fifty Shades of Grey without the kinky stuff and Crossfire.
That got your attention, right? You should've heard my thoughts the first 20% of this book.
So, let's proceed with introducing the characters.
(Tony) Daniel Stark is a software developer. What kind of software we don't know because the author never mentions it, but he deals with the governments of Asian Countries. He's this eccentric billionaire, whose hobbies are collecting fast cars, surfing and participating in car races.
Sounds familiar so far? Right!
Next we have (Ana/Eva) Hayley Grace. Interesting name, right? When you pronounce it, it sounds a lot like holy grace. Huh. There's no info about her except that her parents live in Chicago, she has a brother and she used to do a man every evening a while back. Charming.
Hales (that's what her friends call her), lives with her best friend, (Kate) Natasha who's intelligent, beautiful, charming and has all these lovely outfits. I wonder where I've heard that before? < cue the eyeroll>
She even has a gay friend, (Cary) Ian. < sigh >
Hayley and Daniel meet during an orientation day visit at Stark Software Technologies, Inc. where Tasha drags her after she loses a bet. She's still a little drunk, half asleep and coffee deprived so , instead of sticking with the group, she wanders off in search of a coffee cup. When she finally finds what she's looking for, she proceeds to “graciously spill it all over herself right in front of Daniel.
Look, another similarity! (Ana ended up sprawled on the floor but you get my point.)
Anyway, their first meeting doesn't go well and they exchange a few harsh lines. Hayley has no idea who Daniel really is, so when she's called for an interview with the owner of Stark Software Inc. she doesn't find it funny at all to see Daniel in the office.
Let me tell you, this meeting was so similar to what happens between Grey and Ana that I found it hard to make the difference. Even Daniel's condescending attitude. He's all “Miss Grace this, “Miss Grace that. Ugh..
He even offers her a job she turns down, for God's sake.
Is it so hard to come up with your own story instead of copying those of someone else?
The plot is non existent. They meet, there's the irresistible attraction, the butterflies in her stomach start doing weird things (remember Ana's Inner Goddess?), they get laid and he starts dictating her life. Oh, and can you guess how he shuts her up when she has objections? Huh? Come on, it's so easy? What does Christian do?
Why yes, he screws her brains off. Or like Hales and Daniel like to say, he projects her brains off.
Daniel's mood swings are a thing to behold. She playfully refers to him as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Perfect choice.
One moment he's sweet and tender and the next he's ready to reap someone's head off. Psycho much?
Then, there's the dialog. These people talk more to themselves than with eachother. The conversations take place more in their heads than between characters. Annoying, really.
And this project Daniel is working on, what's up with that? The author made it sound so important and he's going all psycho on his employees but there's no info on it either.
I couldn't find a lot of info about the author so I'll just tell you my assumptions. The name souds German or something like that and now she's living in Estonia so I guess English is not her first language but was her editor blind?
There are so many mistakes! Phrases that make no sense in english or any other language. I'm not an expert and English it's not my first language either but if I'm not 100% sure about something, I ask. Once or twice I had to stop and ask myself what the hell did she mean to say?
There were a few funny moments so it wasn't a total waste of time. The thing is, I didn't have the urge to burn the book in the end, like it happened with a “famous trilogy I shall not name which the author used as an inspiration.
I actually want to read the second installment and THAT is really something coming from me, after what I've written here.
I guess it was so bad that it ended up being good in the end.
Aaaaand, I upped the rating because, all the time while reading, I had this picture of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man in my head. And he totally deserves some extra points, don't you think?
Well, Miss Ehrlich you managed what no one else had you made me want to read the second installment in a poorly written series so kudos to you!
2 stars from me.
Happy Reading!

Maybe 2.5 stars

Very immature writing and immature characters for their age. It is too much like other novels. Older rich business man with a "personality disorder", young girl in publishing offered a job to work for him. Ugh
There is nothing endearing about him or their relationship to want to read more.

Review below!

But still: holly mother of all the holly things gathered together but how the hell am I supposed to breathe?

My thoughts (Theo~):
I do not think that I am able to make a review for this book without sounding childish and extremely bad because I feel that there are a lot of things that I should be able to say and I do not find it very nice from my part to keep you so much in the dark, but you have no, scratch that you must read this book in order to find yourself and live as if there is always a Mr. Stark out there for you or for anyone you want to be!
This will make you probably hate me, but I wish I could be more specific!
The characters are absolutely stunning and amazing ‘persons that you would most definitely fall in love with and that is because they are like you second “layer or skin of yourself! They lay there in your heart, branded by their own words to your soul and just not letting you go of them!
Hayley is someone strong and someone easy to read, yet beautifully put on to paper! Someone to make you wish you were having at least one of her qualities or just demand to be the one getting her some flaws straight. She is not your typical one man woman, she loves to make herself feel good and try to bring people understand her with just a few words! She is one woman that likes her one night stands as much as you enjoy a good book or a good cup of coffee! She is not the one to get attached because, hey, how many of us can say that they have had never been in the situation of having a broken heart. She hates to lick her wounds and pretend that everything is alright, because she does not let too many people to come and get close. She is straight-forward, yet easy to understand. She can make you chew your own socks or make you smile from the bottom of your heart because she is special and worth chasing after!
But after an one night out with her friends and getting herself losing a bet, running out of a cab because the ‘nice guy from the bar is not that nice and getting her first sort-of-panic-attack, she is ready to accomplish her next step: losing like a winner. She gets to accompany her friend on a company tour of the famous Stark companies and pay for the getting drunk from the previous night.
Without any caffeine in her system she joins Tasha to the tour, also applying her own CV even though she does not want to work there! The tour is as boring as any tour and the constant sort of apologies for Mr. Stark not having too much time to accompany them she decides that a little bit of use for the company’s kitchen is in use and some good, warm espresso is just what she wants. Letting the tour to go on she goes to the beautiful kitchen and enjoys a nice way of making a good cup of coffee. She almost ready to take her cup and leave when the damn thing decides that it is time to stain her blouse and make a total fool of herself not even before she gets to see the grumpy Mr. Stark and his precious fifteen minutes of presence.
Her words are leaving her mouth before she can even think them and the way the mysterious man answers is just as intriguing. She decides right then that the beautiful creature that stands right in from of her is the most amazing person she ever met, yet she just met him. When pleasantries are exchanged she is ready to leave, yet the mysterious-careful man helps her with the stains. They sort of bad-mouth the so called super-busy-to-be-here boss and then she leaves, yet the eyes of the stranger are still there in her mind burning her brain and making her heart flutter.
Mr. Stark Daniel is your typical boss: rough, ready to move the world, someone you really do not want to share an argument with, stubborn and most importantly the mysterious stranger from the kitchen! He is driven by his own rules and ready to take what he wants whenever he wants it! He finds himself attracted to a woman he barely met in his own private kitchen. He does believe that if the beauty has a face, she should be the only one who could get this title and be the right choice! He is lonely and somehow frightened, yet strong and not willing to lose his chance of seeing her again. And that is why after her big failure of doing well on the interview he still calls her back and wants her to join the company.
When she finally subsidies and goes to the company, she is more than shocked to find out that her beautiful stranger is actually the one and only Mr. Stark. She is more than shocked and a lot of teasing goes on before she easily rejects his offer. Yet somehow she decides that a coffee wouldn’t be that bad after he is persuading her on accepting his proposal!
They do meet and the craziness does begin. But it is one of those sweet crazy moments that you know are bad, but you do not want them to be over. Ever.
There are moments when you are not sure if Daniel is as good as you thought, but she is making him better! She makes him see himself improved, better, as if she is his improved upgraded model and he is reaching onto her to hold her tight and never letting go.
Her best friends are there and she is as close to them as a family can be! They love each other and know each other as the back of their own palms. Tasha and Ian are her best friends since forever and they have an enjoyable past. They both are charismatic, always there and forever by her side! They know how to entertain her, how to make her feel good even when the darkness does not ceases to appear! They are her pillar and the comforter she needs when is truly down and not ready to let go! And most importantly, they are not just some background characters, they have their own life, their own problems and they do make you want to look forward of their development during the book!
I’ve loved this book because of the extraordinary ways of making me feel! I was going from mad to crazy in less than 5.1 seconds, and I was enjoying every single minute! The sweet scenes where as if I’ve just enjoyed an enormous chocolate cake and I was not feeling bad about it at all!
Everything falls into place so easy, as if it was meant to be from the very beginning!
I’ve fallen in love with this book for the characters, for the action and for the amazing writing skills that the author put into this book! It feels so real that you are almost at the edge waiting to breathe in!

For a debut novel this is extremely good and absolutely fabulous! I recommend it to everyone! Nothing too hard, nothing too much, just plain life moments that might be everyone’s wish!

Layers is book one in the Stark series and is an Adult, Contemporary Romance written by Sigal Ehrlich. I received this eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review through .

3.5 Sexy, Layered Stars!
Not Too Dark, Not Too Angsty But Definitely Fun and Romantic!

The Review:
I both enjoyed this read as well as wished for more. This is the author's debut novel and I found the story less dramatic that I like them, but for the most part, this sweet romance was just right for a bit of light reading.

Story...
This read opens up with two BFF’s, Hayley and Tasha, getting ready to interview for an internship at the prestigious Stark Software Technologies. Tasha really wants to impress in her interview with the hope of getting hired but Hayley is just tagging along for moral support. She has no real interest in interning at the company so she separates from the tour group to make herself coffee in Mr. Starks private kitchen when she’s approached by a tall, strikingly handsome man who introduces himself as Daniel.

Mistaking Daniel as just another employee, Hayley casually disrespects Mr. Stark and his need for a “private kitchen which instantly intrigues Daniel setting off an interest that explodes into a laughable scenario! And what follows is a sweet “get to know you story with comical “girl time, lots of “alpha out of control domineering goodness and a wonderful romance that had me grinning like a loon until the disastrous, emotional ending.

Characters...
Daniel Stark is thirty-four and is a very private billionaire who has a string of broken trust issues littering his past. I loved his “take charge with a bit of shy personality. He was a total alpha when it came to what he wanted but definitely a shy teenager when it came to emotions and feelings.

Hayley is a bright, intelligent, wonderful character. She was grounded and her openness to love was a great asset to her character. I did expect more resistance on her part before the “I Love You’s but once I realized there wouldn’t be any major conflict, it was easier to go with the flow of the read. Hayley was fun and charismatic with goals and a joy for life and that shined through in the author's writing.

There were some fantastic moments between the friends with real yet fun and hilarious dialogue. I loved the “girl time between Hayley, Tasha and their gay BFF, Ian. I found myself laughing or smiling on more than one occasion at their antics.

And Here’s The Wish For More Part...
While I enjoyed the story and thought it was well written for a debut novel, I did find the story a bit lacking. Daniel was an interesting character but he wasn’t as “layered as I wanted. In the beginning, you get the sense he’s this dark, brooding alpha and though he is impulsive and domineering, his darkness doesn’t extend much past a bad temper with a short fuse. I kept expecting some dark tragedy, something traumatic, some kind of curveball or some gigantic wrench to be thrown into the story, but it plays out like a sweet romance with a slight conflict towards the end. Which is great, just not what I was expecting given all the innuendos we are given about his temper, and how “psycho he is or how private he is.

I also wish the sex scenes were more in depth and emotional. They were glossed over or cut short, letting the readers imagination work out the feelings.

The Wrap Up:
Though I did want “more from this read, the last sixty pages made up for any slow portions of the book with plenty of angst and emotion as well as a cliffy to encourage the reader to move on to book two, Inner Core, to see what happens next, which I will be doing because I enjoyed it enough to want to know where Daniel and Hayley’s journey takes them.

I made it to the halfway mark before I just had to give up.

I was so utterly bored. Absolutely nothing of significance has happened thus far.

While I don't know for sure- I am almost 100% sure that the author isn't a native born American. Which is cool, I have no issues with foreign authors. My issue is that if you are writing about American characters then they need to talk and act like American characters. (Same goes for an American author writing about foreign characters!) There is a distinctive UK/European feel to some of the wordage and descriptions. Use of things like "flat" instead of "apartment" and how he's shifting gears with his left hand are a couple examples.

I also wonder if English is even the author's first language. Use of the word "muttering" is driving me up the wall and completely incorrect in most of its content. Example: "she mutters coyly" it makes no sense. Muttering is a negative way of speaking. The definition being "to as something in a low or barely audible voice, especially in dissatisfaction and irritation." It is NOT to be used in place of "he says" or other such neutral expressions of speech.

The sex scenes are bland at best.

Details. The author likes to provide a lot of details, but sometimes fails to follow through with them. For example: around 45% Daniel and Haley are in his office. The author makes it a point to not only tell us Daniel is on his cell (mobile she says- yet another UK thing) but she lets us in on his conversation, who he's talking to and even details how he's holding the phone. But then never mentions him hanging up before having a very private chat with Haley. It's all about the follow through. If you commit to provide such inane details- please follow it through to the end.

At the halfway mark- again- I was so bored. It's taken me longer to force myself from 40-50% than it takes me to start AND finish most books. So that being said, with the other issues I listed- I decided to DNF.

I am giving 2 stars because I made it halfway. But I definitely would NOT recommend.

Sweet. Silly. Sinful.

Quick Review:

I had expected it to be one of those intense and long books. Guess i was wrong!

Hayley wants her One-Night Stand days to be over. She's funny, sweet and silly.

Daniel only do One-Night Stands..
He's cranky, moody with issues.

Hayley's friends were the best! BFF through everything..

Their first meeting was a serious hoot.. {Literally I couldn't stop chuckling..}

This book managed to have a smile on my face all along..
Not much angsty..

Much recommended to those who love low angst.

Loved this book, Daniel Stark is your typical rich alpha male, but he also says the sweetest things and doesn't hide how he feels for Haley. Has he got a troubled past? Absofuckinglutely!! Does his past come back and bite him in the arse? Absofuckinglutely!! Does it all work out in the end?? Mmmm not too sure but it's looking good on to book 2 now

There is only one way to feel about the mysterious Daniel Stark…and that would be feeling like you are standing on the edge of a cliff with one foot dangling off the edge. Just the slightest breeze and you could be knocked over. He makes you on edge…nervous He is short tempered and there is no telling what is going to set him off.

There are many different sides to Daniel Stark. Two of the most prevalent sides are the callous business man who doesn't even believe in saying thank you to his employees because “that is what salaries are for. He can quiet a room with just one word and make people go running scared with just a glance. He is ruthless when it comes to business. That is the side of Mr. Stark…CEO of Stark Software.

Then you have Daniel. Daniel is humble, a bit softer and a protector by nature. He has had a difficult childhood living with his mother who was sick and a father who “isn’t relevant (Daniel’s words). He has never been in love. After being betrayed by someone he cared about, the only women he has allows himself are highly paid escorts. He doesn’t have time for love or relationships. It has always been about the release…that is until he sets his sights on the one person not afraid to bad mouth him. Although, in her defense, she doesn’t really know it is Daniel Stark she is talking to.

The attraction is evident.

The banter is witty.

The pull is magnetic.

The story is addicting.

Hayley is a reformed playgirl. She liked to, shall we say “have fun, but never wanted to deal with the emotional side of a relationship. She has decided it’s finally time to grow up. She’s no longer looking for random hookups but once she gets a taste of THE Daniel Stark her best friends convince her that she should not let this chance go to waste. She should take and enjoy anything she can get from the cocky businessman.

“Of the slutty princess who did not believe in love, who used to take advantage of innocent men, who finally got enchanted by a handsome, slightly deranged prince.

“And how does this fairy tale end?
“They’re both committed to an asylum in a faraway kingdom, Ian continues. “Doing it like bunnies till the end of days.

However, after an awkward first “date she is left feeling used and empty…and it confuses her. She doesn’t know how to react. However, she quickly finds out the there’re more LAYERS to Daniel Stark than most people get to see. She’s intrigued and even though everything is telling her to say away…she can’t.

“Don’t get me wrong, Daniel, in my heart I feel like I would do anything you want but when reason sets in and I take control of my Danielized brain, I know this isn’t right.

- “You’ve been Danielized? he asks, highly amused.

I went into this book knowing that there is a cliffhanger…so I was prepared. Thank goodness or I think I would have been throwing my kindle across the room. This book definitely does not end in a HEA but just as Hayley’s friends, I have faith that Daniel and Hayley can find their way back to each other in the next book. But you never know what will happen. He believes she committed the ultimate betrayal…causing him to do the same to her.

“When I think of Mr. Stark, the first thing that pops to mind is a termite.

“Tٱ?

“You’re like termites because they mate for life”…”You two will end up together. Even a nonromantic, coming of age, cynical gay guy can see that. It’ll take more than a quarrel for you to really split up”…”Too deep, too emotional, too cosmic, too manic, to compatible. Just like a pair of gorgeous termites.

The storyline was captivating and exciting. It was both witty and intense. I could not have asked for more in a debut. The only part that kind of got old was some of the blurbs in Hayley’s thinking. Most were unnecessary and made her sound kind of immature. Other than that the writing was great.
This is a story of a beautiful bond turned to a relationship of distrust, misunderstandings, lack of faith and betrayal.
Congratulations to Sigal Ehrlich for such a great debut. Inner Core (the second & last book) will be released January 2014 and I can’t wait!

The good: Original, witty, fast paced, and likable characters!! In fact, I LOVE Ian!! Can I have him as one of my besties?!!

-Haha!

The bad: This is not a bad thing but we aware that there is a cliffhanger!! I swear, I was sitting at the edge of my e-reader (if that’s even possible!) gnawing at my nails after I had finished! I want the sequel now!! *pouts*

My thoughts: It’s not often that I find a plot that is different. Usually, it’s a good girl meets bad boy; they do the push and pull factor and either act like love sick puppies or my favorite, “I don’t deserve you tirade; and then they tame his or her demons and live happily ever after.

Well, “Layers isn’t that type of read because it centers on real life and characters in real life predicaments!

I liked how both Hayley and Daniel are not perfect and each have their own flaws and uncertainties. They mesh well together and so do the supporting characters!

GOSH! At times, I wished that I could ingrain myself in Hayley’s friend circle and have a man like Daniel (even though at times I wanted to strangle him! Lol!) BUT... fate was not kind to me in that way! Haha.

I’m now super eager as to the follow up sequel to “Layers and wonder what Ms. Ehrlich has in store for us next!

*Much love to Sigal Ehrlich for contacting me to receive her book in exchange for an honest review!*

Someone once said that perfection requires a touch of madness. Well, this book has enough madness and thanks to that it's perfect.

It would be unfair to label "Layers" as just another chick-lit, love novel, beach reading or anything else that has the whiff of something light and shallow to it. What we have here is a book that stands higher of the aforementioned and creates a genre of its own. If "Layers" were a cup of coffee, it wouldn't be a pouring from a random pot, it would be the perfect Starbucks treasure.

"Layers" offers the sweet honeymoon period as well as the tension and the feeling of an upcoming thunderstorm. Nothing is sugarcoated as the characters are only human with their flaws going hand-in-hand with all the amazingness they have to offer. "Layers" pulls us into this wild world of strong women and strong men, who all have their share of weakness and fears to hide and overcome. We don't have to read about another pageant pretty princess who tames a badboy superman to take back to the pancake house for a happily ever after; instead we have a real story of real people's lives. Thanks to the author's great way with words it seems like this crazy, funny and big-hearted bunch of people are someone we know and of course we want to feel with their lives. Even the people that were quite random got a face thanks to the tiny yet important details. "Layers" has a lot of "aha!"-moments for people who have been deeply in love with someone who is sweet with a touch of strong spice to it. And how great is it to find something to relate to in a book as cool as this one.

"Layers" leaves a great deal of questions and thoughts in the air as it pauses its story and keeps the readers biting their nails in the wait of a sequel. It is full of unexpected turns of events since no situation has an obvious solution.

A great novel that gives you the book-hangover: when the feeling of the read book is so strong that you can't start a new one :)

Of course this had to end in a cliffhanger; I wasn't even surprised. At this point, I'd like to think that I've become more immune to such frustrating endings, especially seeing words like End of Book One or To be Continued right at the last page. Whatever. I'm over it already. Really. Ok, I'm probably just trying to convince myself. Ugh!

Anyway, on to my little review. Layers is part of another series involving a gorgeous, demanding, hotshot billioinaire (with a troubled past naturally) and his less fortunate I-don't-care-about-your-money leading lady. I, for one, am just so glad that we get a heroine who's not as weak and helpless as all the Anastasia Steele's of the fiction world. Too bad, Mr. Stark's no Gideon Cross (in my humble opinion) although he's pretty much patterned after the likes of him and the rest of the alpha male, Christian Grey heroes sans the BDSM angle.

I enjoyed reading this book even though I slightly rolled my eyes at some dialogues. I'm sure we've all pretty much gotten the drill already when it comes to this particular storyline so that's a normal reaction, I should think. What I really didn't like though were the abundance of side comments or Hayle's 'private thoughts' (you know, those italicized bits of narrative, whatever you call it). They just seemed silly to me and not always necessary, almost redundant even. Maybe I'm just nitpicking.

Overall, I thought it was a good read. Cliche as it was (I totally anticipated the "big" conflict), it was also hot and intense, and sweet in just about the right places.

If you liked FSOG or the Crossfire series, you will love this book. No it's not the same tale. It's a story all of its own. There are definitely some funny moments in this story. There is also a scene that will make you want to cry. I had to knock off a star because of the obvious set up at the diner that threw a monkey wrench into the couples happiness. Overall this was a very good book. Not very detailed when it came to the sexy parts though, but the author gave us just enough.
