I am the self-published author of the debut novel, We Fight, We Fall (Book 1 in the Fight and Fall Trilogy). I am currently working on Fight With Me (Fight and Fall #2).

After brief stints as a musician, barista and self-proclaimed serial job hopper, I decided to try my hand at writing New Adult Fiction. I fell in love with the genre and found myself daydreaming and plotting my very own stories. I had so many ideas floating around in my head, I had to write them down and share them with fellow book addicts.

My obsession with music, piercings, witty humor (is there any other kind?), and tattoos help to create the atmosphere for my characters, who I like to call, "moody misfits."

When I'm not thrift-store hunting and concocting the perfect cup of iced coffee at my casa, I'm glued to my Kindle (which I secretly nicknamed Kindy...yeah, clever name, this I know!) until the wee hours of the night.

I live in El Mirage, AZ with my doting boyfriend, Mom, four dogs and one exceedingly needy cat.

"I try to live my life like one giant Seinfeld episode. As long as I'm doing better than George, I think I'm doing just fine." - Insightful quote by yours truly :)

1st - Emma....your potty mouth is ANNOYING!!
2nd - Emma.... your inner thoughts are just as annoying as your potty mouth.
3rd - Emma.... using a guy to buy you drinks all night usually makes said guy think he is getting more from you. Then you acting all shocked and pissed off is annoying as well.
4th - Aiden.... you rescued Emma from the douche that Emma lead on, then you protected her from the evil darkness of night by taking her back to your place. When she comes on to you because she just wants sex, go with it. But no.....he goes all drama queen on Emma and tells her she is to be gone by morning and to NEVER talk to him again.
5th - Aiden....YOU JUST BITCHED EMMA OUT...next day you break into her hotel room because YOU NEED HER???? What you two have together could be AMAZING???

End of story...I am done!

What the hell?!?!?!?!!!!

Okay, I had to give this one five stars regardless of the grammatical errors and how many unanswered questions I have. Why you ask? Well because it literally left me speechless other than my obvious need to yell WHAT THE FUCK?!!!!! (at my poor Kindle) The story line itself was actually really good... So you have the tormented, smart ass, emotionally immature young woman who meets a tormented, bossy ass, emotionally immature older man...they have this whirlwind of a romance and overcome a bunch of nonsense almost immediately. This is completely believable, nothing wrong there yet as soon as things seem to be leveling out, in pops the guys wife...WITH NO EXPLANATION, the book ends. I am completely pissed and can't wait to find out what happens. I just hope I don't have to wait forever. I wasn't expecting the characters to be in their twenties but I didn't let it bother me and was unable to put it down. The book was sexy, cute, funny and completely not what I expected.

This review posted on , the book was provided by the author for review.

First, do not judge this book by its cover, because I don’t even know what the cover is. Hands with red stripes of ambiguous origin, what does that say to you? I’ll tell you what it does not say: twentysomething tattooed guy and girl having all the sex in all the ways in all the places. And that’s what this book is about, basically.

Emma, the narrator, ditches her past and hops a Greyhound bus to Astoria, Oregon, because that’s where The Goonies was filmed. That’s as good a reason as any, but sadly it’s a throwaway fact, barely mentioned again. She heads to a bar to get drunk and go home with a guy so that she doesn’t have to find a place to stay on her first night. She ultimately rejects the guy who bought her beer all night, which makes him mad, but then Aiden comes to the rescue and pulls drunk Emma out of the bar.

Aiden and drunk Emma have an argument over whether they will have sex (she says yes, he says no), then she sleeps in his guest room and leaves the next morning without seeing him. Based upon that interaction, Aiden decides to overcome two years of solitary lurking and sadness by asking Emma to be his girlfriend and move in with him.

What follows over the course of a few days is a relationship in fast forward. They have sex. Aiden gets mad at the thought of Emma sleeping with other guys before him. He apologizes. They have sex. Aiden gets mad because Emma had some trouble at work and didn’t immediately tell him about it. He smashes his stereo. He apologizes. They have sex. Emma gets jealous because the woman working at the record store gives Aiden a look. Aiden is turned on by Emma’s jealousy. They have sex.

Erotica is not my genre, so I don’t know if I should be upset that the sex takes the place of any relationship building. I don’t even know if this is erotica, technically. So I’ll just mention my observations and what worked or didn’t work for me.

Emma is a harsh character. Her inner monologue is full of swearing, self-deprecating jokes, and whirlwind emotions. She calls herself a bitch and a slut. She says that, back in high school, “I never wanted to be the girl who fell for a guy. Love was not something that held any interest to me I never wanted to get hurt by someone or be controlled by my feelings. Why? It’s not explained. Did she have a bad experience or is that just how she is? She disparages her responses with, “damn you female emotions, as if she’s repulsed by any part of her that seems stereotypically feminine. It could be seen as just a very dry sense of humor, but personally I found her grating.

Aiden, meanwhile, is a typical tortured, haunted, jealous, possessive, angry guy who is also a hot, rich, former rock star. Emma falls in love with him instantly, even though at first he makes her close her eyes when they’re together, or he blindfolds her, because he has body issues. The main problem with Aiden is that he jumps into a wannabe committed relationship with Emma when he has absolutely no coping skills and is emotionally incapable of being in one. But he’s good in bed.

And there’s this: Aiden tells Emma his tragic life story wherein his dad burned his leg and then he was in a car accident and lost his hand, so he has a prosthetic hand. I’m pretty sure that, when he fingered her from behind when they were in the shower, he used two hands to at least grab her hips, so the fake hand is really talented! Also, one day Emma is getting ready for work and doesn’t have time for sex, so Aiden says he’ll have to masturbate. Emma tells him to do it now, while she watches, which turns him on so he does. While he’s jerking off, she orders him to grab his balls with his other hand, which he does, and I just kept shouting “It’s a prosthetic hand! How would it even feel good to grope yourself with a prosthetic hand! How can you not hurt yourself? And then later he decides to play the piano for the first time since his accident and he messes up a little but generally it’s fine, so this must be the most magical of prosthetic hands in all the world. Good for him.

[Aside: My cousin-in-law, earning a PhD in Bioengineering, informs me that with a muscle-activated prosthetic, rudimentary piano chords might be possible. There are also prosthetics that attach to the nervous system and are thought-controlled, but they are new and not widely available. Let's pretend that Aiden has one of those and move along from my misgivings in the above paragraph, okay?]

The best part of the book was when, after Aiden worries about other men harassing Emma at her job at the bar and he asks her to quit, Emma says, “What am I supposed to do? Never have a job, because I have boobs and a vagina?…I can’t help what people do or how they act towards me. It always feels like your [sic] blaming me for the shit that happens. I wanted to high-five her for that bracing awareness of reality.

The worst part of the book was the ending. This book is the first in a proposed trilogy, so to say that it ends with a relationship cliffhanger shouldn’t surprise you. But the way it’s handled, and more specifically the way it is not handled reasonably or maturely by either character, really bothered me.

The sex is frequent, adventurous, and steamy, and the book moves quickly. I’d recommend reading a sample chapter to see if Emma’s narration works for you or not. It didn’t work for me, and the relationship moved too fast to be emotionally engaging. I’ve used the word “emotion a lot in this review, because this book elicited some strong ones in me, although they weren’t all positive. Still, it held my attention, so that’s something.

I really wish that they allowed us to give half stars or portions of stars. So the rating system is 3 stars (meaning I liked it) and 4 stars with I really liked it. I did really like it, so we are going to stick with 4 stars. But in all honesty I would probably put this about 3.75 stars.
Ok, if you aren't comfortable with the "F Bomb" then this probably won't be the book for you. It's tossed out a lot.
Emma packs up and takes a bus to start her life over in Astoria, because that's where Goonies was shot. I guess that's as good a reason to pick a place as any, right? Aiden sees her gets off the bus and is instantly attracted, but it seems that he's sworn off getting to know people, so he just watches her. She sees him, but she's there to start over and isn't interested in a relationship either. So there ya go!
The book moves fast, like Emma and Aiden meet, he offers her a place to stay the night, they fight and BAM, next day they are in love. Ok, so life doesn't work that way most of the time, but honestly if books took as long to develop relationships as real life, we'd be reading the same book for years! It's a book, a work of fiction... if instant love makes you shake your head and say "Life doesn't work that way", then you probably shouldn't read this one. Just sayin.
Emma gets a job at a local bar, she hits it off with the employees (all except one, but that turns out to be more of a jealousy issue than anything) and loves her job. Aiden asks her to move in permanently. But they both have secrets. Aiden won't let Emma see him naked, Emma thinks it must be some sort of weird fetish so she just rolls with it. Lucas (who is the bar owner's son and is also attracted to Emma) takes it upon himself to tell Emma who Aiden really is. She's torn about confronting Aiden about his past and letting it slide until he's ready to tell her. But curiosity wins out and he busts her checking up on him on the internet. He finally decides to let her in on his secret. He tells her about his past, his marriage, and the accident that causes him to be self conscious about his body. Emma still has secrets but isn't ready to fill him in yet. She isn't repulsed by his scars and she decides that his past is his past and they should just move forward. Aiden is extremely possessive and finds that hearing about Emma and any other guy is torture. So she has to let him in on a part of her past. She tells him about her marriage and what happened, but decides to leave out a few details. And by the end of the book we still don't know her full story. She's hiding something and you have to guess that it's something pretty big.
Emma and Aiden are moving right along...they are both learning to let go of their issues and move forward. But the book ends on a huge cliffhanger! Oh my goodness! This is one reason I normally wait until all the books are written to read a series because I'm not very patient when it comes to waiting to find out what happens! And without giving away too much, Aiden goes from someone I started to fall in love with to jerk in like 0.1 seconds flat! Jerk might be a little too nice, but the words to describe his behavior are not appropriate here :)
I can't wait for the other books to come out so we find out 1. what Emma's big secret is and 2. how in the world do they resolve this issue with Aiden.

I came across the Teaser Novella for free in the Kindle bookstore. I had never heard of the author but decided to give it a try...who would pass up a free book?
The teaser contained the first 8 chapters of the full novel and just let me say that I had to purchase it ASAP! I'm a big fan of the New Adult genre, but I am pretty picky when it comes to content. I like them more gritty and dramatic rather than, "OMG! I broke a nail and now it's the end of the world" kind of characters. They had real problems and the story line had twists and turns that even I didn't expect. It leaves a major cliffhanger at the end of the book, and I can't wait to read the second in the series. What will happen to Aiden and Emma?!

If the book Sins and Needles, The Edge of Never, and Rock the Heart had a three-way, you would have this book.

Emma is a strong girl coping with great loss that noone can understand. A bad girl attitude, tattoos and the need to start fresh without any strings attached. Then Aiden, a secretive yet troubled man, trying to cope with his own demons takes on more than he could ever imagine. His world is not the same after meeting Emma. Emma and Adian have to figure out what they both desperately need from one another to move on from life changing events. As Emma comes clean though, Aiden holds back. Can a major secret and truth keep them together or tear their worlds apart? A gut wrenching ending that truly has me waiting for the following books! Nicole is new to the writing world but I think she is making a hell of an entrance. I hope to see more!!! Keep it up!!!

We Fight We Fall is nothing like I've ever read before. It has an edgy, modern love story which is refreshing. I usually read novels where the main herioine is overly sensitive and vulnerable, but this one is the perfcet example of a broken woman trying to move on in her life the best she can.

The further I read, the more I felt like I was actually there. The characters and plot started feeling all too real. There were many unexpected things that happened, especially towards the end.The very last scene in the book left me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait until the second book is released.

Emma is on the run from the life she had after a tragic accident. Aiden is hiding from his life after an accident that destroyed him body and soul. Neither of them are looking for anything romantic but when you least expect something is when it always finds you. After an altercation at the bar she visits her first night in town he invites her to stay with him. Things escalate and they fall for each other. But can they let their secrets go? Can they make it through their pasts together? Or will their pasts come back to haunt them in the end and tear them apart?

These characters are so interesting. I felt like I had been a part of this book. I love that Aiden has a major disability because you don't often see that in books. The plot was fun, entertaining and well formed. The flow and pace were spot on. I also enjoyed the authors writing style.

I can't wait to read more of this series. While this book was amazing and entertaining left me asking 'WTF just happened'. It was definitely a cliffhanger and not a happily ever after at all. This was a new author for me and I can't wait to enjoy more books by her. Great book! Great author! The rating I give this book is due to the cliffhanger ending.

*** don't take my rating to heart! If you love New Adult and a good bad boy story, This one just might be for you!! Give it a try!!! ***

So, New Adult genre and I are still struggling. I can't quite figure out if I like this genre or not - the definition of New Adult still seems to be defining and evolving itself so I'm still trying books to see how they are. It gets pretty heavy with the sexual situations at times and I'm not a fan (not at all).AND it seems to be absolutely FULL of boys with anger and possessive issues.

Many of those that love New Adult love both of these themes. Unfortunately for me, I don't. So I have to spend a little time picking books to see if I can pick a book I would like

So, this story. The cover on Amazon is Great. And I almost like how sassy Emma was. Almost (she just seemed to take it overboard, being crass and foul). And Aiden just frustrated me. And I felt their love story was very rushed and instant. It made it hard to follow and really enjoy (at least, for me).

But I know many others who just might love this story. I hope you still read it and give it a try. You just might love it!

Honestly, I'm torn on "We Fight, We Fall."

On one hand, I wanted to give it 5 stars, I loved the story line, and for the most part I loved the characters, even the supporting characters. On the other hand though, there were errors like "were" instead of "we're" that should/could have been caught, and just the flow of the relationship between the main characters was extremely fast; a week, maybe a week and a half and they were thinking/saying "I love you"!? Just...nobody I've ever known has ever been from first meet to the stages of where Emma and Aiden were that quickly...it just took the book from the land of believable to not-believable, which hurt it a little bit for me. I really wish Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ did half-stars because really, this is a 3.5* book for me, but it could be a 5*!

It is a new favorite, and I am looking forward to seeing where things go from here with everyone in Astoria/Cannon Beach (which was really cool reading about, I've been recommended to visit Cannon Beach numerous times!). I'd like to find out what else Emma is hiding (I'm correct in that she didn't tell Aiden everything, right?) I really look forward to reading more books by Nicole.

My kindle for some reason doesn't have page numbers for this book, but I'm guessing I'm around 40. I don't think I have read a quick instalove like this. 24 hours and already in love?
**

I really struggled to finish this. Something about the writing made it difficult to keep going. Emma was annoying and did we really need all the f bombs while reading her thoughts? It reminded me of a young teens journal.
Aiden wasn't a bad character, would have preferred his pov.
I did like the Marcus storyline, that should make things interesting in the second book.

Delightfully odd!

It is kind of hard to explain just why I liked this book so much. The same reason I liked it is probably the reason some will hate it. Its far fetched, it happens way too quick, the two main characters are intense to the point that if you met them in person you may wonder if they are sane, etc. The thing for me though is that it really works, they way the author pulls everything together just makes you want to believe everything that happens. To me that is one of the best qualities an author can have. The ending has a twist that will leave you holding your breath!
