She’s fought like hell to leave the past behind.

Trix changed her name and her life when she got clean four years ago. Now, she has a new family and a job she loves—tending bar and dancing at the Broken Circle. As an O’Kane, she’s happy, untouchable. Until a nightmare from her old life tears her away from her home and drags her back to Hell—also known as Sector Five.

He’s still living—and dying—in it.

Losing Trix was the kick in the head Finn needed to get sober, but working as an enforcer for a man he hates is slowly crushing his soul. The only thing that keeps him going is his determination to destroy Sector Five from the inside. Then Trix comes back into his life—alive, in danger—and nothing else matters.

Getting her home could be a suicide mission. The only thing deadlier is the old spark that flares to life between them. Soon, Finn and Trix are battling the one addiction neither of them ever managed to kick—each other. And it could cost them everything.

Once upon a time, two best friends decided to write paranormal romance. And while that was awesome, they also sometimes wanted to write insanely dirty stuff that wasn’t paranormal at all. This is that stuff.

Kit Rocha is the dystopian-erotic-romance writing alter-ego of writing duo .

EDIT (03/04/2020): Ok, after finishing the fourth book I sort of forgot about this book and started reading book six because I thought that that was the next one.
And after a couple of chapters, I realised what I did. So, I went back to it, and there was a lot of skipping.
I just had such a hard time to get into this book. < spoiler>So, looking at my original review and after finishing all books in this series. I have to say I'm officially disappointed that they never used those things they took from Sector Five. And making Hana sick, so, Finn could play a hero was just so cheap.

Original:

"You're a crazy motherfucker."
"I know."

I love so much the Ace&Jared&Cruz scene! So cute and I need more of it! As it's from Cruz's point of view - we can see his affection for Ace.

I actually liked that Mad hates Finn. And I also like that Bren and Jas were giving him a chance. < spoiler> Well, Jas gave him a chance after he hit him. It's way better than if everybody was reacting the same.

One thing that really disappointed me was < spoiler> that Hana was sick and it feels like they just needed a way how to make Finn look like a hero. < spoiler> I hope that they took something important that will be useful in next books. Otherwise, it will be a huge letdown and wasted opportunity.

I wish Dallas, Lex, Jas, and Noelle also played poker.

"... You're not even gonna take me to your leader, lady?"
"You just had that meeting, sunshine."

I wish there would be more brotherhood scenes. Like the one at the very end. I also think that it was way much just Finn&Trix. That the rest of O'Kanes had less space than in other books. Well, maybe it was just because I love them so much and wouldn't be angry if every one of them had another book.

"A silk nightie and a fur coat splattered with blood. And cool as can fucking be. If she's not high on something, then I'm a virgin." - Ace

< spoiler> Cannot wait to get more of Lili, when she came there it was pretty crazy. And she's half crazy too. Cannot wait to find out if Logan got a chance to start drug therapy so Lili could be pregnant.

I hope that there will be Gideon's book, cause I probably love this guy.

< spoiler>And I think that I'm pretty sure about three characters for Beyond Ruin: Mad, Doc, Jade & - who knows?

EDIT: Re-read time. (2/24/2017)
Well, I had to change the rating because I am a bit disappointed because < spoiler>When they went to Five to steal the cure for Hana I just hoped there was more to it. That maybe they took something they can use in the future. So, it was really just to make him a hero in some artificial way. Not a fan.

Beyond Addiction takes us back to Sector Four, where we always know one thing for sure:

description

description

Usually, this is also accompanied by some awesome feels; but personally, I just wasn't getting any feels on this one.

And I think the reason for that was Trix.

In the previous books, all the other heroines have very distinct characterizations and you really get a feel for who they are as people.

Trix was like a nonentity.

Giving someone red hair and putting her in cool shoes and a polka dot dress not automatically instill a personality.

Unless you are this man? woman person:

description

Then it gives you loads...

...of personality.

description

But back to Trix.

She just felt like a blank space slate to me.

description

LOLZ.

Geez, Val, focus...

Finn was a cutie, but the push/pull between him and Trix felt a bit forced and fabricated to me.

Trix was so caught up with him possibly "leaving her" when she is the one that left him in the first place...

description

I mean I get that she left him to save him...but doesn't that mean she's upset over him...doing exactly what she did?

Leaving to save someone he loves?

description

Also, I felt like Finn was "accepted into the inner circle"...kinda fast.

And by inner circle I mean a fuck fest with Dallas and Lex.

description

Seemed a little too quick on the trigger to me.

description

My favorite parts of the book were the sneak peeks of Bren, Cruz, and Ace.

And Jared.

Don't forget the hotness that is Jared.

description

Jared showed more personality in one page than Trix did in the entire book.

All in all, I liked this book, I just didn't love it like the others.

Regardless, I am a Sector Four whore and I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

💕 I’d officially like to submit My application to be Lex and Dallas’s Love Slave. 💕 Teach me!

Don’t judge me.I’m not really into girl on girl action/man on man action/orgy atmospheres/threesomes/foursomes/moresomes until I am.

description

The Beyond series has a couple things really going for it.

 - This is this is a dystopian world so there are new rules that make it so much easier to accept the sex and sharing culture that is the Sector 4 area that Dallas O’Kane and his Woman Lex cultivate and lovingly control

Sure this is total book porn but there is a captivating story going on in the background. There are the more subtle plots going on between the different sector and an upcoming war brewing between Dallas O’Kane and the rest of the sectors and Eden (the upper scale but highly repressed society and that uses the sectors as their piggy bank and worker bees).

All the sex is super consensual. Look it is hard for me to buy into we can all share our bodies with practically any other character in the book but at the end of the day I only love you. In the series it totally works because it is really part of the culture of the society they live in. And there is absolutely no shame in anyone’s game.

Sex…there is a lot of it and it is always so hot in this series. Anytime that Lex and Dallas decide to play with some of the other characters I know I’m in for a treat. This was no exception and that sex scene will go down as one of my favorites from the series.
“Any idiot can get someone off. It takes skill to make it a singular fucking experience.

description

Also there is a story going on in the background. This book’s couple is Trix and former boyfriend Finn. He thought she was dead. She escaped sector 5 after the main drug lord took an interest in her and got her hooked on drugs and planned to use her against Finn. Now Trix has been kidnapped and brought back into Finn’s life. He will have to decide really fast how to save her and possibly save himself in the process.

I liked certain aspects of their story. They come from sector 5 which is rife with drugs and has a more brutal mentality to it. Trix escaped and built a new life, but she never forgot what she left behind. Both of them are addicts, Trix got sober when she left and Finn when he thought she died. But that doesn’t change that a lot of their decisions follow an addict’s mentality that I don’t really understand completely.

They weren’t my favorite couple of the series but overall the sub storylines have progressed very interestingly. I can’t wait to see what Rider is up to in Sector 5 and how those strings are being pulled.

Super smut + solid storyline. I’m in for the long hall.

Strangely, I am actually starting to like the dystopian story in this series. After 5 books, there is an actual story developing, and that's saying something because these books are 90% sex, 10% story. Eventually, that 10% adds up. It's like porn where you get a little glimpse into the pizza boy's life with each movie. Five movies later and you're dying to know if pizza boy's mom got her liver transplant or not. And, how's his sister doing? Did she dump that jerk yet?

But, I look so happy riding my rocket.

So, usually we get to know the people who will be doing the featured banging in the next book and we are rooting for them to bang. But, in this book, the main girl - Trix/Tracy is as bland and nondescript as a white sock. We know she has red hair, but that's about it as far as personality goes. I guess being a ginger is all we need to know about a person.

okay, well we do know that Trix burns easily and has no soul. That's a start.

On the good side, Finn, her bang-buddy is a pretty good character. It's good to have a character that you like in porn. You can root for them while they are having sex - like a cheerleader. Go, Finn, Go!!

My dad is so embarrassing sometimes. He totally has the wrong colored pom poms!

But, in between all of the sex there is some fun stuff with a world that has the typical city-in-control, and the sectors on the outside who each specialize in one thing. Our people are in sector four and they make alcohol. Gotta get the people drunk to have all the public sex after all. But, there is a war coming between the sectors. And, if they have war, the city might just decide to bomb them all and destroy their life-style of debauchery. So, along with all of the sex, we get some killing, fighting, and kidnapping. It livens things up a bit. I approve.

5 beyond addiction stars

Finn spent his time in Sector Five waiting for the right time to put an end to Mac Fleming, being the right hand man of Fleming gave him more than enough reasons and opportunities, choosing to do it slowly, taking away his power and success. The one thing he didn't count on was opening the door to see Tracey, he mourned her death for four years only to be hit with her face once again. Tied up and hurt, he doesn't even hesitate taking him down...now he has one goal get her back to Sector Four, back to her family, the O'Kanes.

Trix doesn't go by Tracey anymore, to her Tracey is dead, embracing her freedom and her life, she lives a life only few dream of, a life as an O'Kane.
Trix was in her element, reveling in every scrap of freedom she’d won, showing off the body she’d reclaimed from the faded wraith she’d been.

She never thought she would see him again, but instead of the painful memory of their past, it brings hope and a second chance. It's up to her to open Finn's eyes to see it too,
“You know where I’m from, baby, and you know what it’s like there. What would you think if you were me?

“I’d think— She shuddered, and her head fell back against his shoulder. “I’d think you can find beautiful things even in ugly places.

Finn has earned himself a reputation amongst the O'Kanes, not one that would work for his favor. Lucky for him, he doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks, the only one who matters is Trix...
“If I stay, it’ll be for you. If I go, that’ll be for you, too. There’s no back for me.

Now that they are finally together without the drugs, they are high only off of each other, quickly realizing what they have is more than haze of the high and their hopelessness.
They were sober, clear-headed, free to do what they wanted and this was it. More than anything else, more than breath.

With the war between the sectors, Trix doesn't stop showing him just how beautiful life can be. Their future is all that matters, but before Finn can settle he has scores to settle and prove to himself that he can be the man she deserves.
“You deserve the moon and stars, baby doll. He pressed a kiss to the inside of her wrist. “If you’re willing to settle for me , I’m too damn selfish to give you up. So wear my ink, and you’ll always know I’m coming home to you.

Seriously how can this series keep on getting better !?! The title Beyond Addiction , is exactly what I feel towards this series, I have been forever sucked into the world of Sector Four. I loved this story because it was finding a second chances when you think all hope has been lost. Trix and Finn have been beat down and broken but managed to put themselves back together, stronger. While reading I could totally feel her energy as Trix dances on stage, the pride of seeing where she is now and all the things she has overcome. Finn, now this man I could bow down to, he did whatever it took to do what was right for Trix, doing it just like any other O'Kane badass, I loved it. Absolutely loved this addition and I can't wait to see what's gonna happen next!

Trix escaped Sector Five an its ruthless leader four years ago, she fought her addiction to drugs and made a life for herself as an O'Kane in Sector Four. But now the nightmare is back when she is kidnapped and brought back to the hell she escaped from. The only bright spot is Finn, the man she always loved but had to leave behind to get herself clean.

Finn has been in a slow path towards death since the day Tracy died but he is determined to take Mac Fleming, the sadistic leader of Sector Five, with him to hell. When he walks into Fleming's office to find Tracy alive and captured he makes the only decision he can. He will save her life if it's the last thing he does, because whatever fate befalls him he has earned by being the guarddog of one of the most despicable men in the Sectors.

This was my favorite book in the series so far. The story was better than ever, with many examples of how special is what the O'Kanes have accomplished in their sector and how they would all fight for each other. And Trix and Finn have a heart-breaking story that made me want to cuddle them and kiss it all better.

Trix was a great person. She fought to get out of the gutter and when she's thrown back into it she fights again. She got herself clean, worked her ass off and earned a position in the O'Kane ranks. She is exactly the type of heroine I like. Strong but with the capacity to feel love and compassion. And the fact that she never, not once, doubted Finn despite the things he had to do to survive only makes her more special.

Finn was another story alltogether. By being the enforcer of Mac Fleming he had to do some very bad shit to survive and he blames himself for every single one of them. It was so sad to see how some people blamed him for doing what he had to in order to stay alive. But I loved how he rose above all of it and became the man he always wanted to be. He became the hero instaid of the villain and earned his place among the O'Kanes.

The sex in this book wasn't as much as the rest of the books(that means that instead of 70% of the book it only was 40-50%) and it was vanilla for the most part(or at least as vanilla as they come in this series) but there in the end Kit Rocha threw in an orgy in case we'd missed them.

You know I’m thinking Kit Rocha are shortchanging themselves in the world-building department.

Yes, the Beyond series is formulaic, but I like their formula.

You can inevitably count on an alpha male that isn't good enough for the amazing female who inevitably turns out to be submissive for him. They have copious amounts of smoking hot sex. The conflict tests their lub. The outsider becomes an O'Kane and gets tatted.

Ta Da!

description

It works. I like it, though the sex is becoming increasingly wrote and nowhere near kinky enough. I guess Kit Rocha shot their wad with Beyond Shame in the kink department. Everything since has been disappointing kink wise. Teasingly & frustratingly so.

I've pretty much gvien up on their ever being any actual m/m. It gets bandied about, but they're clearing more comfortable with f/f intimacy. Yet another frustration. If it's never going to come to pass then stop fucking with me, please.

Maybe because I’m so indoctrinated into the Sector 4 sex shenanigans I’ve begun to look forward more world-building. Something gets added with each new book dating back to Beyond Control, but there are so many threads that never get resolved I feel like we're left dangling. Off the edge of a building.

description
It happened again here.

Trix and Finn are hot. Of course they are. They’re always hot. Not very kinky, but I did like the pearls thing.

description
PEARLS, I MEAN!

I’m a total lemming and will continue on with the series. I just hope I’m not left dangling forever. When the fuck am I going to get Gideon’s story?
If you’re a Sector 4 fan, you’ll like this. It’s alright. Didn’t blow my doors off.

Now, I probably say this every single time that I read one of the Beyond books that it is my favorite. But this is by far the best one. Not only due to the fact that Kit Rocha can always get me out of my book funk but she delivers a book full of love, passion, suspense and a scorching level of heat that will melt your panties. Happy days, ladies. 4 “Remember what you promised me Stars.

It is also very surprising for me anyway that the each book gets better and better. That the development of the Sectors as well as the dystopian world that has been created as well as the plots and twists that are included. I was really anxious that Trix would have to go through the whole drug withdrawal as well.

After reading Beyond Jealousy and coming off my Ace, Cruz and Rachel high. I didn’t want to read this one straight away to realize that it wasn’t on par with the others. This book was also very touching and emotional and had me with tears in my eyes.

Trix is originally from Sector Five, she clawed herself away from the drugs and left the one thing that meant the world to her behind. That is until she is kidnapped by Dom who was kicked out of Sector Four and the O’Kanes for abusing Trix and running to Mac Fleming the leader of Sector Five. As revenge for blowing up his illegal distilleries.

Finn has always lived in Sector Five and has been an enforcer. For the past four years he has thought Tracy aka Trix to be dead that is until he is called to Mac’s office. What made me like Finn was that he put a bullet through his head for Trix to get her back to Dallas. Fleming’s second in command Logan Beckett is bat shit crazy and a sociopath. He is married to Lili who is as numb as they come and the daughter of Mac Fleming.

I loved that the plot of the story was also based outside of Sector Four. To escape Finn went to Shipp and Ayla. They owed him a favor. Not many live out that way beyond Eden and the Sectors. I would like to see a book with Hawk he intrigues me.

Finn has played an important role throughout the series although I have only realized it till now. What with framing Sector Two for framing the leader of Sector Six.

Trix didn’t want to leave Finn back at the farm. He went back to Four and wasn’t exactly welcomed with open arms. But family does what they can and they did it for Trix to begin with. Finn and Trix get all their ugly shit out in the open and see what they really have without the past in the way. If things hadn’t gone the way they would have then they both would be dead.

“Teach me, Trix. Prove it can be beautiful instead of twisted.

Don't get me wrong I like hot n' steamy in my books but it is nice to see a one on one couple. I like the monogamy of it.

“I want to work these pearls into you again, until you’re on the edge, just like this.

Their passion is pure and unrestrained.

Tell me this is different, she begged.
“I don’t have to You can feel it. You know it in your bones. Nothing’s the same as before.
Because he wasn’t fighting her anymore. Fighting himself. They were sober, clear-headed, free to do what they wanted - and this was it. More than anything else, more than breath.

But that there was also the debauchery and the filthiness of all around.

“They were filthy in their own ways. Without shame and without judgement, and it was the most intoxicating fucking thing he’d ever seen. You couldn’t bottle the high that came with loving acceptance. You couldn’t buy it.
You had to earn it.

He proved his worth for what he did for Amira/Flash and Hanna. Sector Five falls and war is inevitable.

“It’s going to be war, one way or another. Only question is who hits first. And who hits hardest

I really want to read the next one but over 5 for a book is too steep for me. Patience is a virtue I guess.

My favorite series tend to be those that center around a group of people who form a unit, a family. A family by choice, not by blood. A family that loves and supports one another, not from a sense of duty, but because they choose to. My favorite authors are those can make me believe the emotional connections of their characters; that make me feel their loyalty, belief in each other, their grief, their joy, their desire and their love. For me, Kit Rocha achieves all of this in the BEYOND series. I love every book in this series, and BEYOND ADDICTION is no exception. I love the world that Kit Rocha has built in this series and I often recommend it to my reader friends. Those who have taken the plunge have loved it, but there are those who hesitate to read it because of the sexual sharing after a couple (or a triad) gets their HEA. For me, the sharing works in the context of this world. The O’Kanes are a tight-knit unit, a family so connected to and dependent on each other for survival, that it just works. While I think that point is made quite well in each book in this series, I think it’s made even more clearly and eloquently in BEYOND ADDICTION.

Neither Trix nor Finn ever had a family or friends that they could depend on, who would stand beside them and fight for them, until coming to Sector 4 and the O’Kanes. Trix has been with the O’Kanes for four years and is deeply entrenched, but Finn is new to Sector 4. The O’Kanes don’t trust him and his only loyalty is to Trix. He’s a man who has made some “bad choices when trapped in a bad place. He doesn’t think he deserves Trix’s love or the respect and friendship of the O’Kanes, but he works to earn it. Not for himself, but for Trix. Finn slowly realizing and accepting his place in Sector 4 was a pleasure to read. The emotional bond between Finn and Trix is a long-standing one, but one that had previously been marred by drug addiction and the lack of free will that stemmed from that addiction. They both have some issues left over from their years in Sector 5, and their journey to move beyond their past is emotional and gripping. Finn is a wanted man in Sector 5, and the new leader’s desire for revenge threatens Trix and Finn’s relationship, as well as the survival of all the O’Kanes . I really wasn’t sure how any of this was going to play out, and I couldn’t stop myself from worrying about all of them. I am so invested in the O’Kanes and the other characters in this series. I worry for them, root for them, and breathe a huge sigh of relief, if and when, things go their way.

BEYOND ADDICTION has it all. An intense, emotional romance with lots of hot, imaginative sex, tense, suspenseful power plays between sector leaders, danger, violence and humor. There is a rapidly shifting balance of power in the sectors; the threat of war between the sectors is eminent. The ever-present danger presented by the powers of Eden serve to make the political situation of the sectors even more delicate. Kit Rocha has created a believable post-apocalyptic world that grabs you and pulls you in. I can’t wait to find what will happen next in the Sectors, and who will be left standing at the end. My money’s on the O’Kanes.

4.5 addictive stars

My love for this series continues to grow as each book gets us deeper and deeper in with the O’Kanes a rough and violent gang who live hard and fuck harder in a dangerous post-apocalyptic world, but they do it together, fiercely protective of each other, and they don’t give a shit what anybody else has to say about it. And you’ve gotta love that about them!

Book 5 in the series picks up right at the end of the last book of the series, and brings us the story of Trix - a much-loved member of Sector Four who is kidnapped right off the streets and dragged back to Sector Five in what is clearly a move to spark war between the sectors.

Before she came to Sector Four, Trix’s life in Five was spent in a drugged-out stupor. Painfully addicted to the drugs she was given against her will, her only happiness came from her next hit and the time she spent with Finn.

As an enforcer to Sector Five’s sadistic leader, Finn was the one pushing product into the hands of the innocent, Trix included, although he hated every moment of it. Four years ago when Trix escaped the sector he was told that she had died, and it set him on a course of self-destruction, and he has been working to bring down the whole sector with him. His plans are derailed when Trix shows up alive, and he does the unthinkable in order to get her out putting a price on both of their heads and setting them both on a desperate run to get her safely back to Sector Four.

“I’m breathing because you’re breathing. You hear me? I was on a slow trip out of this world before you showed up.

Trix is the only thing that ever mattered to Finn, and he proves over and over that he is willing to do anything to protect her. And during their mad run for freedom, their past passion is quickly rekindled, although now that they are both free and clear of the drugs that tainted their lives, everything between them is so different from anything they ever shared in the past. And it makes their reconnection all the more intense.

“Tell me this is different, she begged.
“I don’t have to You can feel it. You know it in your bones. Nothing’s the same as before.
Because he wasn’t fighting her anymore. Fighting himself. They were sober, clear-headed, free to do what they wanted - and this was it. More than anything else, more than
breath.

“I wanna see how high you can fly when the only thing we’re hooked on is each other.

Having found each other again, neither of them are prepared to let the other go, and so that means that when Trix gets back to Sector Four, Finn is with her. And here is where we get to see a whole new, fantastic dynamic to the series as for the first time, our hero is not an O’Kane - and not only an outsider, but also an enemy.

The tight-knit and usually welcoming O’Kanes are fiercely protective of their own, and Finn’s past actions have caused a lot of pain to a lot of people some of whom are now members of the gang and so Finn’s arrival causes all sorts of agitation and fury. But for Trix’s sake they begrudgingly (and somewhat violently) bring him into the fold. I loved watching how each of the guys responded to Finn. It’s a true indicator of their different personalities and loyalties how they react to his presence, and I thought it was really well played out.

And a big part of that acceptance is because of Trix. Her love and unwavering faith in Finn is absolutely gorgeous, and seeing him accept all that she had to offer him was something truly special.

Trix still saw something shiny and new underneath the grime of Finn’s life, and he didn’t know if he wanted to shake her until her vision cleared or wrap both arms around her and never let go.

“I love you, Finn.
He closed his eyes. “I’m gonna work every fucking day until I deserve you.
“Shh. She leaned her forehead to his and shook her head. “Just…show me.

But the bottom line is, Finn wants nothing more than to be with Trix and to make her happy, so he is determined to do what he must to fit in. And I loved watching how each of the relationships shifted over time as Finn starts to find his way with the O’Kanes and, for the first time, is offered the chance of having a family and a life that he has never known.

They were filthy in their own ways. Without shame and without judgement, and it was the most intoxicating fucking thing he’d ever seen. You couldn’t bottle the high that came with loving acceptance. You couldn’t buy it.
You had to earn it.

But Sector Five is still gunning for Finn, and when his new life is threatened, what will he be willing to sacrifice to protect it?

Dun, dun, duuuuuun.

Trix and Finn’s story is absolutely gorgeous. They have both been through so much, and I loved seeing them finally able to be together, all sweet and swoony, and finally get their happy ending. And as always, the smut level is off the freaking charts. Their reconnection is passionate and intense, and the entire O’Kane gang are living up to their smuterific reputation in fine style including an O’Kane party where each of the previous couples get a chance to get it on, and a wild welcome for Finn and Trix as a couple direct from the King and Queen of Sector Four DAMN!

“You’re in O’Kane territory now. We do what we want, and fuck whoever doesn’t like it.

This is a fast-paced, action-packed ride from start to finish. Conflict between the Sectors is at an all-time high, and as always, Sector Four is right in the middle of it all. And with a number of future storylines in the making, I am hoping for lots more stories to be told.

3.5 stars. Loving this series but....

I'm loving this series I really am I like the whole dystopian world which has been created, the story, the sectors, the characters and especially sector 4 and the O'Kane's. I love those O'Kane's.
After finally getting a second chance at life Tracy became Trix and she's an O'Kane and proud of it but now she's been dragged back to Sector Five and her past and the chances of her coming out the other side is not looking good.
Finn finds himself looking at a ghost, he was certain Tracy was dead but she's in front of him and he must protect her, with his life if necessary but if they make it back to Sector 4 he's not sure what kind of welcome he'll get.
Things are not good in some of the Sectors and the question is, can war be avoided?
While this book has a lot going for it is it just me (and I can't believe I'm saying this) but is all the sex just becoming a bit too much. In 'Beyond Shame' it was so hot and I was hooked and glued to every page then came 'Control' and Dallas and Lex were scorching their way through the pages 'Pain' started me skimming in places but 'Jealousy' had Ace, Cruz and Rachel but with this one I was back to skimming a lot of the sex scenes.

O!M!G!!!!
This book kicked ass! The Rocha duo is back, baby! After a slight let-down with Ace's story, I'm completely blown away with Beyond Addiction. Read it in one sitting, completely engaging and exciting. This whole series has been a total 'beyond addiction' thing. Trix and Finn were amazing. Heart-stopping, gut-wrenching - you name it.
I'm telling you, these two writers created this whole world beauty and cruelty of the sectors. It's almost blinding. If I had to describe the series in one sentense, I'd say - The Beyond series is a world created with the art of love and violence, a world of beauty in chaos.

O'Kane for life, baby! :D

Buddy read with Aly

This series really does get better and better with every instalment and I am completely and hopelessly addicted to the O'Kanes! I have been dying to get my hands on Beyond Addiction ever since we saw Trix being captured by thugs from Sector Five at the end of Beyond Jealousy, I thought the wait might drive me insane but it was so, so worth it.

Trix escaped Sector Five four years ago and since leaving behind a life of abuse and drug addiction she has made a home for herself with the O'Kanes in Sector Four. She changed her name and let the people she knew in Sector Five think she was dead so that they wouldn't come looking for her. Finn is an enforcer for the Sector Five leader but he loved Trix more than anything and losing her broke his heart. He managed to get clean but is biding his time until he can escape from the sector after destroying his boss and everything he stands for. Finn had no idea that Trix was still alive but the second he finds out she has been captured he knows he has to help her escape, it doesn't matter if it kills him he will make sure he gets her safely back to the O'Kanes.

Trix and Finn's story is action packed from the get go. The shit hits the fan the second that Finn sees how much trouble Trix is in and the drastic action he has to take to get her free is only the beginning - he still has to get her safely back to O'Kane territory. Sector Five bring out the big guns searching for them and Finn's actions give them the perfect excuse to go to war with Sector Four. Dallas isn't one to back down from a battle though and when one of his people is in danger his whole crew will fight to protect them. The story is incredibly fast paced and I spent the majority of the story with my heart in my mouth praying that Trix and Finn would make it to safety.

I loved seeing Trix and Finn's relationship rekindle, they had obviously had a strong connection before but they were both in a drug fuelled haze most of the time so things are very different between them now that they are clean. I was pleased that they both took the time to get to know each other again, they had both changed a lot since they'd last seen each other and even though they still had a deep bond they had to learn each other all over again. I loved seeing Trix stand by her man when they got back to Sector Four. Understandably the O'Kane crew were wary of Finn, he used to be an enforcer for their enemy so they aren't going to just let him walk in like he belongs there but they were grateful for his help getting Trix out and were willing to give him a chance for her sake. Finn has to earn their respect and trust though and I appreciated that he was willing to do that for her.

This story was just as addictive as the previous instalments and this has fast become a favourite series. I always immediately drop everything the second I get my hands on one of these books (I did actually read this back in August & had a great excuse to reread it recently because I'd left it so long to sit down and write my review). I will always auto-buy anything that Kit Rocha writes, these stories are dark, sexy and absolutely fantastic and I don't think I'll ever get enough of them!

I've loved the Beyond series since I read book 1, Beyond Shame. The sense of hope, family and belonging, the lives and stories of the characters in the books just engage me so much.
It also helps that the stories are action packed, full of twists and turns, intrigue and let's not forget some super hot, oh so sexy, down & dirty encounters!!!

Beyond Addiction takes a slight turn in pace. Finn & Trix have a history that not a lot of people in S4 are aware of. They have hurt & been hurt by each other and have spent years apart, but their attraction is still there, time nor space have dampened that.

Addiction is a really emotional read. Neither of the main characters had a good life in Sector 5 and there is loss and regret laying heavy on both of them. Through the story, we get to see Trix's place in Sector 4, how she came to her new life and her sense of belonging & family. Finn has been on the outside for so long, never felt like he belonged so he doesn't know how to be a part of something - doesn't feel worthy of a lot of things but for Trix he'll try anything!

I love the world that the KR girls have developed in the Sectors and beyond. In Addiction we get to see more of what happens in S5 as well as out on the fringes and we meet some new and interesting characters (some of these are instantly detestable and a few I'd love to find out more about in future books)

The Sectors leaders make an appearance. As ever there is double dealing, backstabbing and treachery. I still can't stand some of the leader characters and there's one I can't quite decide on - is he good or as bad as the others?? Only time will tell I suppose.

As I said, the pace of this book is slightly different from previous reads but that doesn't mean that the sex and action are diluted in any way. We catch up with all of our favourites and get to see them in action - in more ways than one! Keep your eyes open for one scene in particular that is smokin' HOT!!! One Word - Lex!!!

I was a bag of mixed emotions reading Beyond Addiction - I ran the gamut and even had to grab a tissue a time or two (so be prepared).

Another excellent addition to what is one of my favourite series EVER. The girls write such a fantastic story and gods, they know how to keep us coming back for more!

A definite 5* star read and one not to be missed!!!!

Trix escaped Sector Five four years ago, allowing everyone there to believe she was dead. Now living in Sector Four and officially an O’Kane, Trix is clean with a new name, a new family, and the life she has always wanted. Except for missing the man she left behind in Sector Five, Trix is the happiest she’s ever been. When she is kidnapped in broad daylight, she is shocked to find herself back in Sector Five and face to face with the one man she never stopped loving.

Finn has been slowly killing himself everyday since Trix disappeared. Believing Trix is dead, all Finn wants to do is annihilate Sector Five and then find a place to finally let it all go. When he is called into his boss’s office and sees Trix, he vows he will do everything he can to get her back home safe and sound. Easier said than done though when politics places a bounty on both their heads.

Finn knows getting Trix home will be the easy part. Leaving her there and having to return to Sector Five may drive the final nail in his coffin. As Finn and Trix fight their way to the O’Kanes and safety, they also have deal with the blazing addiction that has roared back up between them. An addiction neither of them managed to kick in their time apart. With a sector war brewing on the horizon, Finn and Trix are once again caught in the crossfire and this time neither may make it out alive.

I am a huge fan of Kit Rocha (aka Moira Rogers) and I even have the coffee mug, flask, and temporary tattoos to prove it. The Beyond series is pure erotic decadence layered in sex, violence, and freedom as Rocha slowly evolves and expands their post-apocalyptic world and the people who inhabit it. Action packed with intriguing well plotted storylines and an ongoing arc that takes this erotic dystopian romance from common place to extraordinaire in both writing and presentation. This series celebrates the choice of freedom in all aspects of life. A much needed voice in our dodgy political climate of late. Strongly character driven, Rocha builds strong, intelligent, loyal men and women who promote and embrace the idea that your lifestyle and choices are nothing to be ashamed of. Ménages, orgies, exhibition, voyeurism, and some erotic BDSM all balance well with the main conflict(s).

The strong romantic element in this series continues to surprise me. The underlying premise of sexual promiscuity should overpower it but in reality it only reinforces the multiple layers of love and respect that exists between everyone. The men in here are alpha times infinity but Rocha digs beneath their barriers and shows us gentle, sexy, protective men who can treasure and protect their friends, family, and lovers without crushing their spirit. There is a strong theme of equality between the sexes. Even in the rare D/s scenes, you understand exactly what the term “power in the submission means. It is a gift and it’s treated accordingly.

The heart of the story is the second chance romance between Trix and Finn. A sexually raw and heart wrenching journey that forces our protagonists to view and forgive the actions of their past in order to have the future they want. In the past, their times together were a drug fueled coupling that occurred under a heavy layer of fear and distrust. Both lived with the knowledge that everyday could be their last. Each did what had to be done in order to survive and still suffer from the shame of past decisions. Especially Finn. As Sector Five’s enforcer, he was tasked with some incredibly vile acts that have left a permanent stain on his soul. Seeing Trix alive and healthy only compounds his feelings of guilt and shame that he wasn’t able to get her out sooner. Also, a small part of him fears he may have unintentionally kept her there with him for his own selfish needs.

He hadn’t saved Trix’s life. She’d saved her own.

Finn also has to deal with the general distrust from Sector Four. Though most know the condition Trix was in when she was found, no one knows the whole story. To the O’Kane’s, Finn is the enemy. In their love and concern for Trix, Finn is regarded with suspicion and in some cases, outright hatred. Finn deals with it; accepting and welcoming it as penance for his crimes. Even with the seriousness of the conflict, Rocha tosses in some humor that helps to combat the somber tone of the story. While Trix understands her family’s reluctance to accept Finn, she doesn’t hesitate to slap back when their concern becomes a little too intrusive.

“This is horse shit. She tossed a glare over her shoulder at Jasper as she dug a lace-edged handkerchief from her pocket. “The next time you’re giving it to Noelle in some dark corner somewhere, I’m going to come kick you in the balls. See how you like the interruption.

Poor Jasper. *giggle*

The chemistry between Trix and Finn is a heady explosive mixture of lust, love, and guilt, all compounded by the danger they are in. Their attraction to one another was never in doubt but the reasons for it are. Trix fears falling back into their old trap but Finn pushes to show her that they have both grown from their time apart and this second chance is their reward.

Four years and a world of distance hadn’t stopped them from winding up right here at this very moment. He’d thought she was dead, and that hadn’t stopped him from picking her up when she’d stumbled back into his life.

Nothing would stop him, and she needed to hear it so badly that her throat ached. “Say it, she whispered against his skin. “Just once.

“I’m not going anywhere, “he promised. Low and rough. “I’ll never leave you.

The ongoing arc picks up where it left off in book four and keeps expanding, adding new subplots and characters to an already volatile mix. We glean more knowledge from other sectors and the men/women who rule them along with clues towards what looks to be a glorious bloody finale. Plenty of time is spent with previous characters further reinforcing the concept that Sector Four is one big family and everyone is in everyone’s business. I always enjoy seeing how past heroes and heroines are getting along and am pleased when authors give us peeks back into their lives, allowing us to experience the evolution of their characterization in relation to the storylines.

The luxury of being a simple bootlegger was long gone. From now on, Dallas O’Kane was a man preparing for war–and not the messy-but-confined brutality of a sector war. In his gut, he knew where the real danger lay.

Kit Rocha’s Beyond series is my addiction and I can’t wait for my next fix.

Every part of this worked for me! It might be my new favorite in the series. Trix and Finn were such complex, well developed characters. It was fascinating to watch them reconnect as who they are now, versus who they were in Sector 5, particularly in how the power dynamics have changed and how they're both sober. Finn has a reason to live again now that he's found Trix, even though that ultimately means he has to live in Sector 4 where everyone hates him because of what he used to do. But getting to watch him experience the O'Kane family as an outsider and then as he's welcomed into the fold was one of my favorite parts of this book. I had so many feels from watching Finn figure out where he belonged and Trix figuring out how to fully trust Finn again. They were so good together!

After the ending that left readers hanging in the last book of the series, Kit Rocha takes us back to Sector Four where Trix and Finn are reunited. However, I should say that they aren’t in Sector Four in the beginning of the book. Trix has been drugged and taken by Mac Fleming, a known threat to the Broken Circle, yet Finn doesn’t see him as much of a challenge, especially when Trix’s safety is in his hands. As they try to get their way out and return back to Sector Four, they are encountered once again by their repressed feelings for one another as well as a whole lot of guilt.

Finn feels as if he has given up on Tracy and it’s because of him that she had to change her name. Yet Trix doesn’t see it that way at all. She sees honor and loyalty in this man who has held her heart for so long. As Finn tries to get her back to safety, he encounters the overprotective men and women of the Broken Circle and must now prove to them that he is worthy to be with Trix and most of all, to be an O’Kane.

Kit Rocha makes immense leaps and bounds in this book. There’s quite a bit more significant deaths that had me gasping because I wasn’t expecting such swift cuts in the action scenes. However, I think they did a fabulous job of creating an action-filled story that balanced well with the romance.

Trix and Finn are basically starting over and what I liked about their romance was the fact that they didn’t rely so much on their past to dictate their future. Both we were willing to move on and I think the guilt associated with their past seemed less of an obstacle because of it. Because of their hope, their romance seemed brighter.

There were quite a few new characters introduced that have sparked my interests. I am incredibly excited to know more about Lili Fleming after the events that happened in this book. Kit Rocha feeds the obsession for this series with BEYOND ADDICTION, keeping readers on the edge of anticipation!

“I’m not going anywhere, “he promised. Low and rough. “I’ll never leave you.

HOLY CRAP! Seriously! I cannot get enough of Sector Four! Kit Rocha has made me her bitch. I’m even a little ashamed of it. I’m sure that I learned that little lesson in Sector Four. The stories in each of these books are so strong. The world building is perfectly crafted. I am instantly transported to Sector Four the moment I start reading.

Four years and a world of distance hadn’t stopped them from winding up right here at this very moment. He’d thought she was dead, and that hadn’t stopped him from picking her up when she’d stumbled back into his life.

Beyond Addiction is a heavy story. It is so passionate and left me feeling raw. Trix and Finn have a powerful and complicated past. Addition is commanding, but the need to belong is even stronger. Because of their pasts being linked for so long, the chemistry for these two jumped off the pages immediately. Being together was natural for them, but getting everyone else to see that was the hard part.

Trix has always been a favorite for me. She is sexy and feisty and an O’Kane through and through. We met Finn in a previous book and he was one to watch for sure. I was thrilled when I learned that these two would be brought together. I loved the push and pull of their relationship. There wasn’t angst so much as just figuring out how to make everything fit. They had a completely different set of struggles than the others. They met their challenges together and it was very cool to read.

As always, this book was HOT! but Addiction is was also super emotional. I actually shed a few tears. Rocha really reached deep inside and developed this book beyond all the rest. We still have the continued story of the sectors and the turmoil that ensues. I love the sector struggles as much as the individual stories in each of these books. Like I said, the world building is perfection. Being brought closer to Trix and having Finn in the gang only makes it that much better.

Trix and Finn are fiery hot! It was really interesting reading about a girl who has reinvented herself, rediscovering an old flame, this time with her world sharp and clear and no longer in a haze. Despite all the passion, it was still really messy though,

some relatively minor spoilers:

I have read and reread the series before this latest installment five or six times and have loved all the books and short stories but for different reasons (sometimes plot, sometimes character drives the train). This book felt like it was written by a different author, trying hard to stay in character but failing often and badly. A relative newcomer calls Lex a hypocrite to her face?!? Not possible in Sector 4. That Finn and Trix are included sexually in the Dallas/Lex relationship at the place in time where it takes place here is, charitably, implausible.

There are a few nice bits, especially towards the beginning (a nice set piece on Cruz and sexual possessiveness for example), but I found this unsatisfying, especially since my affection for the first 4 + 2 borders on obsession. A lot of the problem comes down to the fact that the major characters introduced thus far (Dallas, Lex, Jas, Noelle, Bren, Six, Rachel, Ace, Cruz, Mad, Dylan, Ford, Mia, Noah, Emmy) are *characters*; we can tell them apart, they have wildly different backstories and personalities and kinks. Trix is a cypher; "the redhead" is pretty much how she starts and ends the book. Finn is somewhat more fully realized, especially since he played such a crucial role in Beyond Control, but even he comes off as a Bren clone with a dash of name-your-favorite-macho-guy crap thrown in on top.

I liked the political aspects of this book quite a lot, although clarification about what exactly is going on with Section 2 would have been helpful. We get several statements about the what re: Section 2, but 0 explanation of the why.

I had completely forgotten about this series until it started popping up on my feed again... Turns out I read the first four but didn't review them. Having nothing but three star ratings to remember them by, I bought book 5. I don't know if this one is worse than the others or I just can't get into it anymore, but I won't be continuing on with the series. Outside of a lot of I don't deserve you's from Finn and I want you to feel like you deserve me's from Trix, not much else happens here. The couple has history together. I get that we're supposed to appreciate the fact that their love has survived so much adversity. I even understand why their past is discussed so much, but their past feelings are discussed ad nauseam. There are also random chapters focused on other characters--Doc, Ryder, Lili, Cruz. Some of them I understood--we needed to know what happened to Lili in order to understand her appearance later--but some I didn't. The one about Cruz was smack dab in the middle of the book, added nothing to the story, and served no purpose other than to confuse. Sadly, this was a bust for me to the point where I even caught myself skimming the sex scenes. Skimming!

It’s been awhile since I visited this gritty world that the writing duo Kit Rocha created; this post-apocalyptic, erotic morsel, picks up where book 4 leaves off. This series really shouldn’t be read as a stand along since there are so many intertwining characters, and an overall backstory progressing through the series. I will admit, since it’s been so long since I visited the sectors, I was a bit lost; yet Beyond Addiction is much like the others, with hot filthy sex, including a group sex scene with Dallas and Lex. It was hot, but it didn’t feel new. I think that’s why I slowed down on this series to begin with; it stopped feeling fresh to me. There were some sweet moments between Trix and Finn, but I never fully invested in them or the story.

This is the first time I listen to an audiobook version instead of reading the story. Malone isn’t my favorite narrator. She does a fine job; I just don’t care for her voice. I think had I read the book, I may have been able to get into the story more....Sara

I enjoyed reading this book. The Beyond series isn't disappointing me and you can be sure to have a hot couple in every book. Finn and Trix were good together and I liked reading their story, how they left things off a few years ago when Tracy (now Trix) left the sector five. They never forgot each other and Finn isn't taking her safety lightly now that he has her back. She's been through a lot but she has finally found a family in the O'Kane and now Finn has to do the same but he'll have to prove himself. The O'Kanes want to make sure he's worthy of Trix and that they can trust him.

A nice addition to the series. I'm curious about Lili's book and how the situation with Eden will evolve!

Beyond Jealousy ended with a tease that led to expectations on my part. (And OMG, I needed to know what happened to Trix!) Beyond Addiction didn't go the way I expected (and I really don't even know what I expected, except that it wasn't the first ten percent of BA), but where it went was awesome!

The world building, the story arc, the politics of this series is amazing. If you pay attention, pieces are being put into place and it's gonna be…big. Unless more politics are played skilfully. And then it's gonna be big in a whole different way. I can't wait!

TL;DR version: Hot. Heartwrenching. Dirty hot. Tearjerking. Contains impossible choices, sacrifices, consequences, and hope. Love love love!

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

Fifth book in and still the great story lines continue. The combination of tension, passion, politics and torment alongside romance, family, loyalty and eroticism is breathtaking. One particular scene sticks in the mind as being so hot that you should read it sitting in an ice bath. The fact that the story is so compelling and the emotions are so viscerally displayed makes this an amazing read. Go, get a copy and see for yourself!

Wow. I absolutely LOVED Beyond Addiction. Even though a crazy schedule pulled me away from the book and I had to put it down, the story sucked me in even deeper every time I returned. The amazing dystopian world of the Beyond Series keeps getting crisper and more defined. The characters richer. The emotional ride was brilliant. Tears pricked to my eyes toward the end which rarely happens with a book. Just loved it.

Oh, I do have a question... How do they gas up those gorgeous rides? Inquiring reader would like to know. Maybe in a future book? I sense a storyline there. Hijacked tanker, perhaps?
