"If the world ever ends and we become separated, I want you to meet me at the Falls."
Thinking their father was joking, the Murphy family laughed the idea off that night at dinner. Little did they know, a devastating event would soon bring civilization to an end. But the end was only the beginning of the family's problems. Now, a mysterious light blazes in the sky day and night dropping metallic pods deep underground. Armed militias roam broken streets for the few remaining resources, killing anyone who opposes their order. Mankind has turned into the monsters they've always feared. Alone and desperately trying to survive as society unravels into chaos, the Murphy family must find a way back to one another by doing what their father told them such a long time ago:

Well written beginning of an apocalyptic tale and one family's experience of it. Not overly gorey thus far, which is a welcome change. Especially liked the flashback to the family camping and the plesiosaurs singing in the deep pool! I'll be following the family's journey.
A very uniquely written story about a family torn apart during the end of the world. This series of intertwining short stories was very captivating and well written, and by three different authors no less! All of the stories flow together so nicely, I wouldn't have guessed that each story was written by a different author. It is a quick read that is well worth it. And for only $0.99 on Amazon, it is definitely worth checking out. This is Part 1 of 5 and I can't wait for the next installment.

Must have story that looks at a family that tries to come together during the 'end of the world' where humanity turns on its self. It is a thrilling ride of capture the flag where you want the family to come together at the Falls. The characters are interesting and the relationships are worth while that you want to know more from the past and present. You connect with the strong Father right through to the fear and worry of the youngest son. The way the chapters flow into one another makes it a great read because it sounds like one voice not three different authors which is brilliant.
Follow the members of the Murphy family as they struggle to make it to the Falls, a place where they agreed to meet if the world ended and they became separated. This unique and intriguing book weaves all the character's stories together, which are told by three different authors. It's a great read that you just can't put down. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment!
Blunt, over-gratuitously violent, and not that introspective. Lots of telling, no showing. (I know some telling is necessary in a story, but not THIS much.) Go watch Soylent Green or 28 Days Later and you'll get a similar, but better, experience.
