This is me throughout the book. :)

I want to thank Lee for giving me the opportunity to reviewing his first book; you made me swoon often, mon ami.
I'm glad to be the first to post a review on this lovely story.
(Trying not to do the I-me-mine here)

All the characters seemed well developed and I liked how they all grew after college. Every one moved away to make a better life for themselves, but Frank decided to stay true to his roots. I loved his home; especially when the white tail deer gathered by his home. I love nature and being surrounded by it so when I read that it only made me want to get a home up in the mountains.

It was interesting to see how Frank stayed the same and all his college buddies had better jobs and asked him why didn't he move up? He simply was happy with his blue collar job and his home. To me that hit home because we all want to live a very outgoing and adventurous life, but Frank was just happy with what he had. He was humble enough to say that he was grateful for what he had. Made him more lovable to me.

was in the perspective of Frank Avery. A country boy that won my heart.
He was the true gentle men; the guy that was meant to be a keeper. Yet somehow the wrong women kept surrounding him. For example Beth Ann...

I have never in my life wanted to slap a character so hard across the face until I started reading about Beth Ann. The woman was controlling, demanding, and down right a waste of brain cells. It was always I-me-mine which is why I stated early I didn't want to sound like that. Every time she enter in the story I would automatically be defensive because of her ugly personality. She would demand visits from frank for one thing specifically. He was her Call Boy and even when it came to sex she was overbearing and demanding. Poor frank tried very hard to resist her, but what man would push a sexually hungry woman? Not many.

What truly bothered me was when they attended the Blondie concert and in midway she complained about it being too loud and told frank to take her home. Of course Frank didn't want to leave, but she would have made a huge scene if he didn't comply. I didn't quite understand at times why frank would put up with her even though he constantly thought how annoying she was. Then it just showed that he was a gentle men even if the other person was completely rude towards him.

I did read a good portion of the book while listing to Blondie in the background; Frank would have loved it that way ;)

Everything changed for Frank when he met Gina; His Greek Goddess.

Gina seemed like the perfect half to Frank. They spent time together going to art shows and did what normal couples normally do. Everything seemed like it all was falling into place. Well until Gina dropped everything(Including him) in order to leave. In which we find out in the end why she did what she did.

My heart was torn when Frank was so upset for the loss of his Greek Goddess as one would be after a sudden end to a relationship. And somehow Beth Ann made her way back into Frank's life after Gina took off.

Time passes by and Frank takes a trip to Europe for a digital seminar. There he meets plenty of beautiful women. He has a good time and befriends a few and eventually has intimate encounters with those few. There was a topic about marriage and divorce that I agreed when Frank spoke to someone in Europe about it. In which case I strongly agreed with what Frank said about the topic.

Through out the pages we see Frank grow older. Things begin to occur with a very strange reunion with his Greek Goddess. However everything wraps up nicely as it climaxes toward the end and we get our answers.

I was happy with the end result of Frank's life. I didn't quite expect it, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVED it! I'm delighted with whom he ended up with. She indeed was good for him and they seemed adorable together.

In conclusion, I am very grateful to have read this sweet story. I don't know what I am going to do with my life now that I have finished reading about Frank, he indeed was a keeper!

After reading this story written by a male author it proves to me that I much prefer a man writing love stories because they are beautifully written and when it comes to Joyous Expression they write it so passionately that it's more romantic. It's more of a turn on for me when a man writes romance; more men should fill up that genre! ;)

So please check out and his book because he is destined for greatness!

I loved this book! This is not the your typical romance going by a (format). Frank is a gentleman and an all around grounded nice guy looking for love, but has to go through many ups and downs. Especially Beth Ann!!!

I love the way Lee Debourg tells Frank's story, it flows smoothly,it keeps you hooked to find out what happens. This book is definitely a page turner! I couldn't put it down and when I had to I wanted to get back to it so I could see what happened! I loved reading this story from a male POV. I will be getting anything this author puts out in the future. I am excited to see what Lee Debourg has in store for his next book!

A long overdue book review but one that is here, nonetheless.

Concurrent Relationships was quite a different read, for me. I undoubtedly enjoyed this book but, beware, if you do not like to read about sex, then this is not the book for you.

Aside from that the book was quite interesting. Thanks for sending me the book!

The first time I heard the name of the book and was told that it was based on CONCURRENT RELATIONSHIPS I didn't know what this meant
and so I went to my reliable knowledge source "Google" for information. According to Google,
CONCURRENT RELATIONSHIPS means having “multiple relationships which overlap in time.

A book meant for mature readers, CONCURRENT RELATIONSHIPS is a very unusual book which deals in a very different and an alien topic for me. I was intrigued and also felt uncertain if I could do justice to this book and rate it appropriately since my prior knowledge on the subject was nil and I couldn't state any heard-of or read-of experiences of this phenomenon which I can safely say is rare in India. But I did read the book and felt n number of things while my journey through the story! :)

CONCURRENT RELATIONSHIPS is the story of Frank Avery who was once a shy and awkward person who couldn't talk to girls but who has now learnt all the tricks of the trade and can easily befriend girls and can also make them feel at ease while they are in his company. This feature of his has earned him many girl followers and several dates. Then he meets Beth-Ann "a tall brunette" who according to him, "was unmistakably a spoiled child, relying far too heavily on the child's personal pronoun group of 'I-Me-Mine' " . Beth quickly becomes obsessed with Frank and although Frank feels no love for her, he is happy to have a sexual relationship" with her! The story starts with Beth's divorce and her announcement of coming to stay with Frank so as "to begin catching up" on her sex life. Although Frank is not happy at the announcement he agrees and so starts their purely lust based relationship again. The story moves at its pace and along the way Frank meets many girls and even falls in love with a girl Gina, he calls his "Greek Goddess" who leaves him under mysterious circumstances. The story marks the changes in Frank's life and the change in his partners with one constant Beth Ann over a period of ten years.

Does Frank find his true love or is he satisfied with his "call boy" sexual relationship with Beth Ann?
Why did Gina leave him not once but twice and even though they love each other, can they find a "Happily-ever-after" for themselves?
Can Frank stand up to the manipulating and controlling Beth Ann and end this farce of a relationship they have?

“All is true and all is false in love; love is the only thing about which it is impossible to say anything absurd."

The story proved to be a novel experience for me where I was appalled, shocked, disgusted, got angry and wanted to hit someone, sometimes wanted to pound some sense in Frank and slap Beth, even tell the women in the story to go get a life and choose a man 100% devoted to them and in return devote themselves to someone instead of having relationships with no future. I was even touched by Gina and Frank's love for each other and it broke my heart when Gina left him with no explanations. I admired Frank's contentment in living in a small town and enjoying a quiet life with less money than go work in the city where though the money was more the life was hectic with no peace. I agreed to his simple lifestyle but totally disagreed to his passive attitude and simple agreement to everything Beth ordered him to do.

Maybe these type of relationships are common in some parts of the world but personally I don't agree and support such partnerships. Call me old fashioned but I like my partner to give me his total devotion and be my mate till death do us part.

Lee's writing is fluid and effective while also being simple. He has created characters so different in their temperaments but all developed so beautifully. The story looses pace in the middle but soon picks up and swirls us from country to country and character to character with well executed events that support and take the story to its conclusion with some very unexpected twists and turns and finally an end which will leave the reader rendered speechless! :)

An unusual book, from a very promising author, with a story of a man maturing and finding true meaning to his life after many learning relationships and experiences. This is a book that will turn out to be an unforgettable experience to everyone along with being an interesting read. It has definitely been just that to me.

A 3.5 out of 5 to CONCURRENT RELATIONSHIPS and all the best to Lee for his future endeavors. :)

I received an ARC from the author and I am very thankful to him. The above review is my personal and unbiased opinion which is in no way influenced.

Warning, this review may contain things from the story that you will find out while reading it in order to better explain my thoughts about the book. There are spoiler bars.
I always promise an honest review. When an author requests that I review their work, it is knowing I will give my sincere opinion. This book was tough for me. It started out with promise. I wanted to like it.
Lets' start with Beth Ann. The book starts out telling Frank's story in college, where he meets this highly annoying, bossy, manipulative, spoiled, inexperienced, rich girl. She is quite a thorn in his side. But, hey, she wants to have sex, so all is right with the world. Young, carefree Frank, Okay, I can see how he'd fall into the trap. I was reading along, more incensed by Beth Ann's behavior with each turn of the page. This in itself is not bad. A character you love to hate. That was definitely established. However, Frank continued on with her, for years...and years. Even though he repeatedly said he was going to be done with her... but I'll just have sex with her this one last time ..then it's over.. for good.. really. Even when he was in other relationships, even when he claimed to be in LOVE with someone else. Even though he cringed with the idea of spending time with her. I found myself hoping she would not be in the whole book, or if she was, that there would be a reason for it.
Another point, it seemed every woman in the book that he had any romantic interest in would have a plan for him, and when they wanted to see him. They all knew when their period was, did not want him around during that time, and specifically told him to stay away for that reason. That was very odd.
More than one woman wanted to have a serious relationship and made plans to spend more time together/live closer together and then BAM, flip flopped on him once the decision was made and it was goodbye time, see ya. Like hitting a brick wall.
Gina, oh Gina. She was THE One?
The story was really slow, and very long. I couldn't stay engaged in it and I kept setting it down all through the middle thirty percent. I think it could be pared down. There was so much detailed information on things that could have been left out. The part of the book I was really interested in was Frank and Beth Ann, and how OH how was he going to get rid of her.
Gina's story at the end, that could have made a very interesting tale - If the reader could have seen it played out instead of just having it relayed in a matter of fact way at the end of the book. It didn't give you a chance to be invested in it.
There was a quote in the book that I liked, and found appropriately describes Frank's life. "A wise man counseled me once to make haste slowly when allowing a woman to select me as her mate."
When all the words were read, I concluded this book just wasn't for me. It happens sometimes. Perhaps you'll feel differently when reading it.

Some of the tags to identify this novel could be: contemporary romance, country boy, big city girl, troubled relationships, willingness to slap this woman's face!!!

Do you know those characters that you always feel at boiling point when they appear on the scene? And the desire to give some slaps? Well, I think I can say that this feeling was unanimous about Beth Ann.

A character who I didn't feel any sympathy. Manipulative - especially in sex - taking advantage of the good heart of Frank.

Frank is cutie. A country man, gentle, that in the deep he just wants to find the right woman to his life. For a while we get rooting for him and Gina. But for some reason she goes away, leaving him without any explanation.

I can not say that Frank is a weak man. I believe he is more old-fashioned guy, the typical gentleman who ends up putting the wishes of the woman above his. But I admit there were times, when he yielded to Beth, I wanted to kill them both !!!

The good news is that he had some inspiration, especially after needing to make a trip to attend a seminar. Thereafter the whole story flows much better and he has the HEA he deserves.

The story is described by Frank's POV, which makes it all the more interesting. Male's POV are so much better.
If the author's purpose was to make Beth to be completely ostracized by readers, he got it.

The rhythm is interesting, but as I said, sometimes I wanted to give some slaps in Frank to make him wake up in relation to his treatment to Beth.
I felt no connection to the characters, but the ending brought a refreshing, after going through tense moments throughout the reading.

Even I don't sympathize with some characters, I found it interesting how the author's writing. He deserves to be watched closely .

Frank get one phone call from his ex girlfriend Beth Ann, she need directions to find his place in Collins. There in Collins he thinks that he was “safe and he lives his life comfortable, but this was too much. Beth Ann waiting for finalizing divorce paper and she will be free woman.
Seventeen chapters named in Latin language that was the reason that I choose to read and review this book. When the author contact me to review his book I didn’t pay attention to summary I just stare to those Latin words and decide to read this book and I did it.
Beth Ann is straightforward, what she wants she gets. She seems to me like an imagination or maybe like a man’s imaginary woman as for sex. She is spoiled and rich girl; her parents had high hopes in her.
Frank is too cautious, first I think that he is a lost cause, but how pages passing by I change my mind. He is shy and quiet man. He meets Beth Ann in college and then they start some kind of sexual relationship. Maybe for him that was real relationship, but for Beth Ann was not.
The story was kind of weird; unusual I know that has such people in the world with that kind of relationships but I’m old fashioned and I didn’t understand these relationships, a concurrent relationships. This does not mean that the book was boring to me, contrary was very interesting.

I received an ARC from the author for my review.

THANK YOU Lee DeBourg.

Honestly I never saw or read so unlucky person like Frank. But First of all If you wanna read this book you must be Adult or Newbie Adult.Because you can confuse like me. And It's not that I don't like the book.

Frank has had many women. But all of them is not suit him. He can fall in love maybe but other one always break up with him or something.

First Beth Ann... I'm not gonna lie to you I never want to slap someone so much! She's divorcing and she call Frank to hang out. And She says' I'm coming' ,not like 'Can I come ?' .

She totally bitch. It's fine to being sex with her without love. But honesty If I were a boy I never look her even sex is good. And other women... Everyone is using him.

Using him to have sex.... I don't know what they see him neither.

But book is include relationships..awkward relationships.. at least for me. But Anyway It's different. I like it.

*I was given a copy of this book en exchange for my honest review*

I feel like this book was a fresh take on romance. The main character was a man, and seeing things through his eyes was different, at least for a romance novel. I liked this aspect a lot.

This book had a nice flow to it, I wasn't always sure where it was leading, by when I got to the end I understood and was happy with how things turned out.

I could not hate Beth Ann more if I tried. I got mad at Frank a little for keeping her around. I don't think (thankfully) that I've met anyone as self centered as Beth Ann in real life.

I can't help but think of this book as a coming of age book as well. We meet Frank when he's out of college, but he thinks back to his college years and over the course of the book we see him grown and learn what he wants in life. Frank is such a likeable guy.

This book was an easy read and fun to read. If you are into romance novels and want something different then pick up this book!

Thank you Lee DeBourg.

I thoroughly enjoyed Concurrent Relationships. The fact that we heard the tale from Frank's point of view was wonderfully refreshing.
I loved Frank, he made me swoon. I loved him.
Beth Ann. Her. I could slap her. Grr.
Sorry, she makes me skin crawl.
Moving on.
I felt connected to the storyline even though I've never really related to an experience like that. Lee does a wonderful job bringing a strong story with loveable characters to his readers.
After reading numerous love stories from female POV, it was nice to get a glimpse into a male POV.

It was a great and easy read, definitely refreshing. If you're looking for something a bit different, give Concurrent Relationships a read. You won't regret it.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
I am always honest when writing my reviews, that's why I think I cannot rate this book. will not be able to rate all the contradictory emotions I got while reading it. I liked the overall story, it is not something I would usually choose by myself, but I thought it was intriguing. That said, I really wanted to like the way the story was written, but I couldn't. Manyt things bothered me, but most of them was the character's comentary on women and so on. I also could not stand some of the words used in this book. The narrator/main character is overly formal about some things (he says things like: 'she sat down and we began conversing'), but for some it is so imature. 'Kissy-face'? 'My little fellow'? No, please. Just no.
But, please, do not let my opinion stop you from reading the book.

I had a love hate relationship with this book but I don't regret reading it at all. Straight away you can tell the author is an extremely competent and intelligent person who's style of writting I found very different from what I am used to . The story is from a male point of view so I'm guessing that's what felt different about this frustrating and worthy tale of love and lust . The funny thing about this book is I actually felt smarter after reading it and I look forward to reading more work from this author .. Why 5 stars ? Because this book stirred so many emotions in me and anybody who can make me laugh one minute and cry the next deserves it ...not to mention the intense frustration I felt for the main character :)
