This book completely took me by surprise!

This novella features Pace, a character from Andrea Randall’s November Blue series, and Stephanie, a characters from Michelle Pace’s The Sound Wave Series. Both series I have yet to read.

Pace is an attractive, ambitious, confident lawyer who commands attention when he walks into a room. He’s extremely picky when it comes to women so he mostly just has casual flings since no one has brought him close to wanting to settle down. One night, he’s with a date and he gets an unexpected phone call.
“Hello? At first, all I was greeted with was the sound of loud music and traffic. Someone driving down the highway. I tried again. “Hello?
“Hey. What the fuck is the name of that pretentious building you live in, again? The W?
Jesus. I took a step back. It had been years since I’d heard that voice.
Her voice.
“Yeah, I chuckled, “that’s it.
“Are you busy tonight? I don’t fucking care. I’ll be there in an hour.
Click.

Enter Stephanie. Her and Pace went to college together at Columbia and have a very interesting history. After a bad breakup she starts driving and ends up heading to Boston.
So as I rolled the word fun around in my mind (trying to recall the last time I’d actually had some), I couldn’t help but think about Pace Turner. Good old Pace. Six feet and four inches of ripped, ebony sex god. Tasty, tattooed, and oozing testosterone.

The story is told in dual POV and alternates between them meeting up again and flashing back to their time in college. They met when Stephanie was doing a photo shoot for the Princeton website.
“Hey, Cary, this isn’t a Playgirl shoot. She’d snapped her fingers and whistled. “Get those bedroom eyes off your face.
Cary. The unauthorized nickname made my lip curl.
“What’s the matter, stud? Did I strike a nerve? Pay attention.
She hid behind her giant lens and resumed her rapid-fire clicking.
“What’s your name?
I’d taken off the vest and loosened my tie and collar.
“Uh-uh, big shot. Just stand there and look pretty.

As you can see she is feisty and has zero filter. Pace is immediately taken with her attitude and complete lack of interest in him. I absolutely loved watching these two battle. It was funny, intense, and hot! They are dysfunctional, constantly butting heads and have some crazy chemistry.
“Look at the window!
Steph stood in front of the window with her finger pointing a third of the way up the glass, to where her ass had rested against the window. And, there for all of us to see, was a faint ass print situated in picturesque glory between two hand prints from when I’d had her bent over.
“Nice. I widened my eyes purposefully, licked my lips, and turned back to the kitchen in desperate need of a drink.
“Nice? No, that is so not nice. Jesus, my ass is huge! Get that shit off there. I’m not that girl.
Facing her again, I strode slowly in her direction. “Seems to me you are. In fact, I know you are. I’ve never had any woman up against that window.
“I call bullshit.
“Call whatever you want. I shrugged. “It takes a special breed to trust nothing between my cock and the harbor but a little bit of glass.

Neither is about the feels, they are about the sex until they aren’t. Then things get complicated.

The reason this took me by surprise is that it is a novella about two characters I have ZERO investment in. I haven’t read the other series they are in. I honestly had no idea that this book was coming out, but I randomly saw it go live at midnight on Monday night and deciding to one click and just read a chapter. Yeah, well I didn’t move until I finished it a couple hours later. I was completely hooked from page one and couldn’t stop reading, even when I tried because I knew I had to be up in 4 hours for work.

I also thought this was just going to be a quick, steamy read, all sex, no substance. WRONG. I was completely blown away by how attached to the characters and their story I was. I can’t even explain it, but at one point my chest literally hurt and no point could I put this book down. So, seeing as this is about two characters from other series, you might want to know if it has a happy ending? I am dying to read Andrea and Michelle’s other books now. I loved both of these characters, they were written with so much wit and spark and I enjoyed every second of it!

I am a huge fan of Fury and I was very fortunate to have been a beta reader for both Rage and Something's Come Up. I absolutely adore Steph and her snarky wit, and I fell in love with Phillip Kersey in Fury, so naturally I went into SCU with some scepticism. I've been rooting for Steph and Phillip so I didn't want to imagine her with any other man, and frankly I wasn't sure how Michelle Pace and Andrea Randall were going to be able to sell me on the idea (I'm hopelessly devoted to my Phillip)...so imagine my surprise to find myself emotionally invested in Pace!!! I was completely drawn into his world and found myself thinking that it could work between him and Steph. Then, I would realize that I was now rooting for this AMAZING man who wasn't Phillip. I'm such a bookwhore. To say that I love these fictional people just isn't enough. They are in my heart and on my brain STILL.
I strongly recommend this book! ♥♥

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Giving a rat’s ass caused me issue after irritating issue for a lot of my childhood. So after my mom died, I quit caring. Gave it up for Lent and never looked back.

Once I heard that this book was in the works I could NOT WAIT to experience the melding of minds that is Michelle Pace and Andrea Randall. Through various book groups, I have come to know both the ladies over the past year. Let me tell you; they are some kick-ass chicks! Snarky, funny, honest to a fault, and simply put, AWESOME. I am familiar with both of their writing styles as I have read all their books, some more than once. Both authors have collaborated with other authors previously, and I was curious to see the outcome of their epic merging. Sufficed to say, Something’s Come Up far surpassed anything I could have imagined.

Good old Pace. Six feet and four inches of ripped, ebony sex god. Tasty, tattooed, and oozing testosterone.

I am not even going to lie. There is very little romance in this book. What is there then you ask? TONS of sexy, fun banter and plenty of panty-dripping excursions. Randall and Pace have a fluidity of writing that puts you in the story. There are many points in the book where I found myself needing a fan and a cold shower. Sexually descriptive, yet not vulgar, Something’s Come Up give you erotica with an actual story. The sexiness aside, what I really loved about this book was the repartee between Steph and Pace. They both give as well as they take, and boy do they ever give! I found myself smiling throughout the entire book and even laughing out loud at some parts.

“Cat got your tongue, Cary?
“Interesting choice of words, given what I’m about to do to you.

This story stars Steph Brier from Michelle Pace’s Sound Wave series and Pace Turner from Andrea Randall’s November Blue series. Having devoured both series, I loved hearing about interactions I didn’t previously know existed. The storyline isn’t forced and it fits into each series flawlessly. If you haven’t read either or both series, don’t fret. While you don’t HAVE to in order to understand what is going on, you definitely SHOULD because they are just that good! Both series have new books coming out in the next few weeks and I cannot wait! I loved getting to know more about Pace, as he is only briefly in the November Blue series. I look forward to seeing more of him in the future.

“That’s how I’ll come, with your legs around my waist and your back trusting the glass. But first I’ll let you watch the city below as you scream my name.

There is little to no angst in this book, so look forward to a fun and sexy read. Worth every penny and more, I will always snatch up anything these authors write! 5 mouth-watering, red hair a blazing, chocolate sex god in waiting stars! I know you will enjoy it as much as I did ;-)

***SPOILER ALERT!***

PACE

Stephanie

Honestly, this is my first ebony-ivory romance I have ever read. But I was curious about Pace since Ember-Bo-Adrian story.
Actually, I'd waited for Adrian's for so long, but I got Pace instead...lol.

The first 45% was quite interesting, but 45-65% was a little boring.
Maybe it's a medical discussion that bored me. Even, I admired it for the smart talking, still, I wasn't interested at Medical Science details. Too details. I'm an MD, and I got bored by medical talking.
The sex was hot,but not "that hot" to make me squirmed on my seat, and I think Pace and Stephanie was never meant for each other.
They're just match at sex. And sex only.

I can predicted the ending and it was just what I expected. But one thing is, this is original, not like other story.
But still...I don't think I'm looking forward for this story type...

Maybe Adrian, someday, would redeem my flat feeling for Pace.
Maybe.

Who knew a cross over could be so much fun! Randall and Pace double the pleasure and double the fun all in one. Mix hot chocolate goodness with fiery red attitude and BOOM you get Something’s Come Up.

“You’re right. Smooth. Flawless. Still, you’re like Shortcake after she rolled around in hot peppers or something. You’re spicy. I can tell.

A lot can happen in 24 hours…so why not fill them with hot steamy buck naked kinky sex? Right? I mean it is a no brainier.

“Cat got your tongue, Cary?
“Interesting choice of words, given what I’m about to do to you.

I thoroughly enjoy when creative minds come together. Randall and Pace prove that not everything has to be a sole act. I am a huge fan of the November Blue Series from Andrea Randall and I was a little unsure how I would feel about this look into on of the series secondary characters. I was pleasantly surprise! I would recommend this novella for Randall and Pace fans alike. Even if you have yet to read the November Blue series or the Sound Wave series you will still take pleasure in this guilty pleasure. Oh and P.S. if you have YET to read either series get to one clicking…NOW!

I wasn’t so sure that “Something’s Come Up was going to be my sort of book. I’ve never been a fan of what is usually classified as erotica, but, I figured, it’s Andrea Randall and Michelle Pace. I’ll give it a try.
I’m glad I did.
I had previously read Fury so I was familiar with Steph Brier…and she is just my kinda gal. Brash. Tells it like it is. No frills. Not your typical “love story kinda gal. THANK GOD.
I had also previously read Andrea’s Ten Days of Perfect and Reckless Abandon, so I was familiar with Pace, sort of. I knew he was a sexy, hunk of chocolate love and I just KNEW there was something behind all that bulk ;)

My favorite thing about this book is sure, it was steamy, but there is substance. What begins as just fun, becomes so much more than that. Even though I knew the eventual outcome (remember, this is a prequel), I was rooting for Pace and Steph and I wanted the outcome to be what -I- wanted it to be.
I love the way that Michelle and Andrea made me feel that this was more than just sex. I know erotica is the “thing now, but, it’s not MY thing. I honestly really WANTED to continue reading this novella.

I Haven't yet read either The Blue November series or The Sound Wave series yet (they are both sitting there on my e-reader begging me to read them though) I don't think that affected Something's Come Up for me in anyway. I thought this was a great read! I really enjoyed the dynamic between Pace and Steph. They have a lust, anger, trust, love, hate thing going on that really just works The two of them have a history that makes having a future together as anything other than "friends with benefits" a little iffy. However, it seems like if they wanted to move in a direction other than that they could. What they have works for them and it is H-O-T. This was a pretty quick read, then again it is a novella. I really hope this isn't the last we hear from Steph and Pace!

So I loved it. This was such a "real" story with semi-flawed characters...if you can call them flawed. A small part of me wants to hate how this ended, but I can't. It was perfect. Without giving out to many spoilers, that convo is Rome is heartbreaking.

This read was a 4.5 for me :-)

First, I wanted to tell you that while I have read The November Blue Series by Andrea Randall, I have not yet read Fury by Michelle Pace and Tammy Coons (it has been on my to-read list and with my overbooked reading schedule, I just have not been able to get to it yet. thinking now I will NEED to find the time to). As far as I can tell, you can read this book as a stand-alone, but I am sure if you are a fan of these other series, you will probably love this book all the more. While, “I do not think you have to read the others to be able to understand this book, I would suggest that you do at some point but you don’t have to read them first.

Second, I loved Steph and Pace’s banter back and forth. They had me laughing throughout the book. I will just put it out there that this book, as stated above Something’s Come Up contains strong language and sexual content. It’s intended for mature, 18+ audiences only, because it has some H-O-T scenes. these characters certainly have some chemistry.

I have to admit to you, I was a little surprised when my eyes got a bit watery while reading this, I must have gotten myself invested into these characters more than I thought I did and found myself cheering them on to finally get their Happily Ever After.

I can’t wait to read more from Andrea and Michelle about all these characters. So, luckily for us all that both of the above series have books coming out within the next month, so I WILL be getting more from both of Andrea and Michelle very soon!

I really enjoyed this book, the collaboration of Andrea and Michelle and these characters and recommend it to you. As always, I would love to hear what you think about this book and both of these series!

I'm not usually a fan of erotica. Or novellas. So going into this book, I wasn't sure how much I was going to love it. But I'm a huge fan of both Andrea Randall and Michelle Pace, so of course I had to give it a shot.

Something's Come Up brings together Pace (Adrian's hunky older brother) from Andrea's November Blue series and Steph Brier from Michelle's Sound Wave series. I had read both series, but in my opinion, Something's Come Up stands alone, and it isn't necessary to have read either one of the series to be able to enjoy it.

I do LOVE Steph. She isn't a typical book heroine. She's hard, sarcastic, and takes no crap from anyone. And Pace...he's just majorly hot. Big, muscular, cut...just...hot!

Now...the reason I'm not generally a fan of erotica is because it tends to be all about the sex. There isn't usually a lot of storyline to follow. But Andrea and Michelle brought together a story that while very hot and sexy, there IS a story here. I loved Steph and Pace together. I wanted them to figure out that in the end what they had WAS more than just sex. When you consider that this book actually happens before Fury (Book 1 in the Sound Wave series), and I already know what happens to them, that says a lot about the way this was written.

It's a novella, covering just a day or two in the lives of Pace and Steph. But it doesn't "feel" like a novella. It's well written, and I really couldn't tell which author wrote which parts. And with enough steamy scenes to make the erotica reader happy, and enough of a storyline to make those not a fan of that genre happy, Andrea and Michelle have put together a story well worth the read.

DNF at 56%

I won't be rating or formally reviewing this novella because I was unable to finish the whole thing. This is the first book by Andrea Randall I have read and I had read Fury by Michelle Pace but was unable to finish that book as well. I don't think the writing style is the reason I couldn't finish the book, because it wasn't bad....I think my problem was that the storyline and characters just didn't hook me and it all just fell flat for me. By the 56% mark I was completely bored and just couldn't go on. I did, just so I knew, looked at the end of the book, so I knew how it ended and I have to say not what I was expecting. . Now just because this book wasn't for me, doesn't mean that others won't love it. I will also give these authors another shot in the future, maybe them separate will be better.

Okay, I have been excited about this book for some time now. 2 of my favorite Authors teaming up to write a Novella, hell yeah I am excited. Something's Come Up is hilarious and oh so sexy! Knowing Pace and Stephanie from Fury and Rage, I knew this read would be kick ass. Also knowing Michelle and Andrea from book groups, I new these ladies teaming up to write this book would be top of the world amazing. If you're like me, you'll fall in love with Pace. This is how he is descried by Stephanie "Good old Pace. Six feet and four inches of ripped, ebony sex god. Tasty, tattooed, and oozing testosterone." Now, if your looking for romance, don't get your hopes up, but if your looking for hot, sexy bantering, then you've come to the right place! I promise you, you will love Something's Come Up, and if you don't, then you are seriously lacking a sense of humor!

I knew going into this that I loved the books that both of these authors have written. What I didn’t know is that this book would totally blow those out of the water. Amazing job ladies, I hope to see more combined works in the future because you guys ROCK!

I was first introduced to Pace in the November Blue series by Andrea Randall. I was first introduced to Stephanie in the Sound Waves series (Fury, to be exact) and Pace also made an appearance in Rage. If you have read either series then you are familiar with the characters. I liked getting to know Stephanie pre-Sound Waves; it gave me more insight as to why Pace showed up in Rage. A definite read for everyone.

Hmm.... I didn't really like it, I skipped most of the story and just read a few scenes here and there. I do like the plot but It didn't have that sentence or even a paragraph that you could hold on to and say, 'this is good' or 'this is interesting', that's why I just skipped and read a few pages just to finish the book. FOr those who've read the whole book, they might find it really good but the writing style isn't for me? anyways, I still plan on reading Andrea Randall's IN THE STILLNESS.

ARC provided by the Author in exchange for an honest review.

Something’s Come Up, by Andrea Randall and Michelle Pace, is a winner. Two amazing authors have teamed up, combined characters from their individual series, and delivered a smoking hot book!

Pace Turner (Andrea Randall’s November Blue Series) and Steph Brier (Michelle Pace’s Sound Wave series) have an interesting relationship. They are more or less friends with benefits. The benefits are so steamy, that both are addicted to the heat of their moments. Outside of the bedroom they are snarky, somewhat selfish, and not ready to commit to any kind of relationship. But they will drop everything to have those steamy trysts.

I love the banter, witty dialogue, brutal honesty, and general smart ass attitude both of the characters have. Steph is not your typical heroine. She is not your “typical love story kind of girl. Pace Hunter is a player, he has not intentions of persuing any permanent relationship. In an odd way, these two characters approach their tryst as a business deal. But it works for them.

This is not a romance. This is a story of two people enjoying their erotic encounters and appreciate them for what they are.

Michelle and Andrea have written a story that is entertaining, tastefully portrayed, and sensually invigorating.

Well done ladies! I loved it!

4.5 stars! I was excited to read this novella because I am such a huge fan of Andrea Randall and she has yet to disappoint me. Now I can add Michelle Pace to my list of faves. This crossover story features Pace Turner from Andrea's November Blue Series and Stephanie Brier from Michelle Pace's The Sound Wave Series. It can however, be read as a stand alone and I highly recommend it.
Pace Turner is a hot beefy alpha male with a witty and charming personality. Stephanie Brier is a take-no-shit beauty with a fire beneath her that could compete with the color of her red hair. There was just enough sex in this book to put it into the erotica category but enough story line and relationship to make it not just all about the sex. I loved the humor and banter between the two characters and was definitely left wishing that this was not a novella. I need more Pace and Stephanie!!! Check this one out for sure.

It didn't take long to recognize the authors writing is absolute genius! I've come across a couple of new great authors I'd have to follow and read all they've got. What a character they've crafted with Stephanie. I've never ran across a character yet who could touch her. You've got to love her but damn she can be a real pain in the ass. Then there's Pace. What a stud, plus a good guy at that. You really get to see things from his perspective and see the pull and feelings he develops for her.

"When the girl you’re casually screwing and dating starts to look like she was literally sent from Heaven, you better reassess your priorities before someone gets hurt. Especially when she speaks like the spawn of Satan."

I had high expectations from Andrea Randall, having read Charles Sheehan-Miles' Thompson Sisters books and knowing their connection. I wasn't yet familar with Michelle Pace or her work. I'm adding them to my list of favorite authors.

I loved Something's Come Up. Something's Come Up is written by Andrea Randall (author of The November Blue series) and Michelle Pace (author of The Sound Wave series). I have not read the authors series. I didn't realize to after when I was reading reviews that s Pace, a character from Andrea Randall’s November Blue series, and Steph, a characters from Michelle Pace’s The Sound Wave Series. I was not lost reading this novella. You don't need to have read the author's series to read this one.

I loved Pace and Steph. There characters are well written. We get flashback so we can see how their relationship was formed. I definitely want to read more about Pace and Steph. I loved the story but I was hoping for a different ending. I'm definitely going to check out Andrea Randall’s November Blue series, and Michelle Pace’s The Sound Wave Series

This didn’t really work well for me. It was an ok story, but seemed a bit disjointed.
After a very public break up from her actor boyfriend, Stephanie ends up back with her old “Friend with Benefits Pace Turner.
The relationship between Stephanie Brier & Carrington “Pace Turner was purely sexual. It had nothing else going for it, apart from the “shock element I suppose.
There were a few laughs & some sweet moments, but other than the explosive sex, it just didn’t really come together. You didn’t really get to know the characters well enough to form much of an opinion of them from this book, and as I hadn’t read any of the other books, I just found them confusing.
If you know the series, you will enjoy this book.

This is how I think of this book - a little bit of cocky and a little bit of sass. Andrea Randall and Michelle Pace - what a team!!!! These two ladies, while being fabulous authors on their own, came together and put together this little ditty of a book. It's like these ladies didn't have anything to do one weekend and they just sat down with a bottle or two of wine and put this awesome read together. To be honest, I didn't remember much of Pace from the first time I read about him, but Stephanie is definitely a hard character to forget. I'm glad that I had the chance to learn more about them and their history as I continue to read each of their series. If you have some free time and are looking for a fun book to read....give this one a whirl! You will enjoy it for sure!

Aw, man. Something's Come Up ended at an annoying place. So much is unresolved. This is more of a part 1 of a great story. I loved the black man/white woman matchup. I'm glad other authors are venturing into more diverse pairings. The cover art is beautiful...sexy, but understated. And to tell you the truth, I didn't notice they were an interracial couple until I started reading. So I was still pleasantly surprised by that. The strong characters and tease of a plot held my attention. I got confused a bit when the story bounced around from 2008/2009/2012. Overall, I thought the narrative voice was good, even funny at times. I got this during a free promotion (thanks for announcing that on FB, Michelle!), and I'm glad I read this spicy romance. Now...I just need to know what happens next.

This book has so much to offer. I loved the entire plot, characters and of course the steam. I have read Andrea Randall before so I was glad to see the character connections in this book. As for the plot, there was a lot to like. It was very interesting to show the relations between the two main characters Stephanie and Pace. I loved how the authors explored the difference in race. Stephanie could not care at all that Pace was African American. I totally fell in love with her after that. Dont we have enough to worry about? You find someone like Pace, you dont let him go. She did and that story is so well worth this read.

Andrea Randall (author of The November Blue series) and Michelle Pace (author of The Sound Wave series) joins their talent together in “Something’s Come Up.
I've not read anything by these two authors before but I think I may be hooked now.
This is a fast paced novella with characters from both these authors books. It's a standalone but it does make you wanna read more about these characters. While reading this I certainly didn't think it was written by two authors. The writing is superb.
Now for the story...... Great storyline. Fab characters. It's a must read novella:)

H.O.T.

Pace and Steph are two strong characters, flawed but lovable. I liked how the authors narrated the story, incorporating some flashbacks giving a solid background of the story. I wished it was longer though because I felt like the story kept me hanging on to something. Overall, this is a steamy read.
