Three worlds thrust into one; 5 lives that will never be the same again.
A foiled kidnapping, a moment of opportunity and a deadly case of mistaken identity change the lives of two friendly conmen and destroy the mind of a heartbroken millionaire.
Consequence is fast-paced crime thriller. An intricate, edge of the seat novel with its fair share of violence, obscenity and surprise.
Eli Yance lives in Northumberland, England, with his wife and dogs. He doesn’t spend nearly enough time with the former and spends far too much time with the latter. Eli started writing at a very young age, penning his first complete novel when he was just eleven and publishing his first short story at eighteen. He is also the author of the upcoming novel The Consequence.-- Scribd
The first thought as I began reading was that this writer's first language could not be English. There are hundreds of misused words and phrases. Embellishments have been added that are off-key or succeed in making the phrase or sentence a shade foolish. The characters are all too similar which makes keeping track of individuals somewhat tricky. The plot is mundane and much could be edited out as it fails to advance the story, develop the characters or add more than excess window-dressing to the the setting. Having said all that I feel the writer has story-telling ability but either needs a lot more practice in getting it down properly or a decent editor with endless patience.
It was going good until the little girl died - then it all just went to hell. I didn't like the kid dying, then the father who was a good man and just broken up about his kid was killed trying to get who he thought was the killer and then the real killers got away with it. Terrible! I could have got over the kid dying if the killers got what they deserved or at least got caught. Was just really disappointed at the ending.

This book was a little slow starting off. But about a fourth of the way into the story it got pretty interesting. It was a well written thriller once all the pieces started falling into place. The ending does leave the reader with some additional questions. However, the ending was good.
A real gripping and sometime gritty pager turner that I could not put down until I finished it. Interesting characters. Some shocking twists and turns. I won this book through goodreads.
This is truly a gripping book and a brilliant read with shocking twists and it hurdles along at a fast pace. I could totally see this book being adapted into a movie, interrelated storylines are always a massive hit, like Crash, this too would be popular especially with a cool underworld edge if Guy Ritchie got a hold of it. Eli is a very talented writer with a gift for developing characters you love or hate, and characters you should hate but love. It is gritty and at times dark, but the conmen provide moments of humour and the devoted husband touches of loving family life. It is a real page turner and especially from halfway I found I'd blitzed through it unable to put it down. Well worth the price and this will easily be one of your best reads this year.
(50%) I'm 50% done with Consequence: I am struggling to connect with the characters due to the book flitting about so much but I will persevere as I am I entreeged at how the author will pull it all together as it also seems to be disjointed Sep 08, 2013 09:42pm update status
I'm pleased to say the story did come together, I have given this a three star as the story was good but I personally found the style it was written in hard going
A darkly riveting suspense ride. The ride came to a screeching halt when the author senselessly murdered an innocent seven year old girl. That is why a five star rating became one.
Not bad for a free book. Well, at least it was when I bought it. It's now £2 on the Kindle store, and I'd say it was worth it. Plenty of action and a few shocking plot twists. A good read.
You people should just read this book yourselves and write your own review on this novel yourself and I really enjoyed reading this book very much so. Shelley MA
