To say Hannah Thatcher-Miles loathes Liam Park is an understatement. He is arrogant, rude, and much to her dismay—completely irresistible. For the most part he has been avoidable, until she finds herself desperate and has to accept a position at his father’s law firm…as his assistant.
Liam has begun taking on more responsibility at Baker & Park. With new responsibility comes a new assistant, but Liam could have never predicted that it would be none other than the life-long bane of his existence and the daughter of his dad’s best friend, Hannah.
Now that they’re both in Hannah’s brother’s wedding and have to spend every day together at work, it’s impossible to escape one another. With tensions at an all-time high, Liam is realizing that maybe he doesn’t hate Hannah as much as he used to, if he ever really did at all.
Temptation leads to crossed lines, leaving Hannah and Liam with an impossible question to answer. Are love and loathing really just a sliver apart?
Hey, I’m Nicole Ryan. I write romance with heart, heat, and just enough emotional wreckage to keep things interesting. My books are for anyone who loves messy characters, slow burns, and maybe shedding a few tears when they least expect it.
I’ve been writing since I was a kid, mostly as an escape, and the one bright spot back then was hanging out with my grandma at the local paper where she worked as a copy editor. She believed in my stories before I did.
My debut, Second Chance Vacation, came out of the kind of grief that reshapes you after losing my youngest sister back in 2022. Since then, I’ve written Mostly Loathing You and The Very First Night, where love gets a second chance and time stops playing by the rules.
I’m a Libra, but let’s be honest, my Virgo moon is the one running the show. I spend an alarming amount of time convincing myself I need just one more book, blaming my moods on the moon or retrograde, and pulling tarot cards I probably wasn’t ready for. If there's a little magic in the air, I’m probably already halfway to plotting a book about it.
Thanks for being here. The story’s just getting started.
Rom-Com Enemies to Lovers Brother’s Best Friend Workplace Romance Close Proximity Open Door Spice 🔥 Dual POV
This is the 2nd book in the Just Peachy series and follows Hannah Thatcher-Miles and Liam Park. Hannah dreams of making it big as a theater actress. After striking it out for a few years in New York City, she decides to move to Atlanta to be near her family and friends. She gets a job as a legal assistant at a family friend’s law firm and works alongside her brother and her arch-nemesis, Liam, who is also her brother’s best friend and a family friend. The close proximity between Hannah and Liam make for a dangerous combination as they are constantly throwing jabs at each but also see sparks start to fly. They don’t know whether to start throwing punches or start kissing each other.
This was a cute book of enemies to lovers, brother’s best friend, and workplace romance tropes. Hannah and Liam have known each other since they were kids but there has been bad blood between them for almost the last decade. They know how to get under each other’s skin and they use that to their advantage. I thoroughly enjoyed the jabs and punches that each of them produced! Their hate soon turned to lust once they were around each other and it was an explosion. I was fascinated with their whole dynamic from start to finish!
Overall, this was a fun story with great spice and multidimensional characters. I really enjoyed the writing style and quickly got immersed into the Just Peachy world!
Thank you so much to Nicole for the advanced copy in return for honest review.
This book is not perfect, by any means, but it surprisingly pulled me out of a reading slump and although there's a lot that shouldn't have worked... it really did. This book really walks the line between too much and just enough to make things angsty, and the author manages to ride that precarious wave and pull through.
What I thought would be my main problem -the fact that the third-act breakup is based on miscommunication/misunderstanding, and it involves OW drama-, and normally would've completely sank this book for me, was surprisingly great plot-wise and I genuinely liked the way it was handled. I didn't love the family drama, but that's a personal preference. The mommy dearest stuff was awful, which was the point, but my god! What an unbearable woman!
Both main characters were the same kind of impossible, childish and annoying,.. and again, it was great! I usually don't enjoy that kind of stuff in my MCs, but the fact that they were both equally annoying to each other made this hilarious.
It's spicy, and sweet, and all the good things! I would 100% recommend this if you're looking for an enemies-to-lovers, brother's best friend/family friend romcom.
"'I thought you were considering moving back.' The meaning in his words nearly floats pasts me before it hits me, causing a faint grin to overtake me." "'You were scared.'"
Holly (FMC) has always been close with her older brother Jackson. However, she's not the only one who has Jackson's attention. Liam (MMC), has been best friends with Jackson for their entire lives since their parents have been longtime friends. Growing up together, Holly and Liam have spent their summers and childhood together, however they're anything but close and friendly. When they're constantly at each other's throats when they're separated by many states, what happens when Holly starts working UNDER Liam??
This book is full of so many LOVEY DOVEY moments that my heart is literally bursting from the seams. This romance is the perfect amount of innocence, naivety, stubbornness, and steamy love that you can't help but fall in love with the characters. If you're into brother's best friend, enemies to lovers, second chance romance, first love tropes... YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOOK <3
The only downside is that I personally thought the writing in some sections was a bit confusing and would do way better if some things were reworded.
also im kinda in love with these quotes from this book
-✧˖
'"Fuck me so hard that after I'm irrefutably ruined for any other man, any other partner. Any other person who dares to touch me, knowing that you're on my mind.'" "Something in her words makes me snap; the simple thought of anyone besides me touching her drums up something feral and animalistic inside me."
Where do I even begin with this review. Nicole told me she was working on a bully romance enemies to lovers romance and I IMMEDIATELY began foaming at the mouth.
Mostly Loathing You is chock full of moments that left me blushing, crying, and squealing (sometimes within a page of each other). The banter was so good and the tension between Liam and Hannah was palpable.
I knocked a star off because as much as i love a good bully romance, Liam was a little too douchey for my liking during the first quarter of the story.
That aside though, i still really enjoyed the story and would highly recommend to others.
The story got me hooked, and I finished it in just a few hours!
I loved Hannah; she's an amazing and vibrant character, despite having some insecurities. I have to confess, at first, I wasn't really into Liam, but as the story unfolded and the character grew, he won me over. Seeing him stand up for her and defend Hannah really warmed my heart.
This book has plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, and the spicy scenes are just * chef kiss *.
Thank you, NetGalley and NRC Publishing, for sending me this ARC.
After finishing "Second Chance Vacation" and learning the title of the next book in the Just Peachy series, I knew immediately who the characters would be and was so on board!
As a fan of enemies-to-lovers (who isn't?) and of bully romances, I was so excited to start this book. The dynamic between Hannah and Liam was addicting and I was intrigued to find out what had turned them into enemies after spending basically their entire lives together.
I really liked both characters and how they had their own journeys and I was right alongside them, cheering when they had their wins! There were just some scenes that felt so satisfying and, honestly, made me love Liam more and more.
And the spicy scenes? 10/10. I love a little "Yes, sir" energy, iykyk.
Hannah Thatcher-Miles is my character. As someone who loves Broadway and has spent many years of my life training on vocal techniques, I LOVE her.
Liam Park is a snarky man, and I loved his character development over the course of this book. Realizing what Hannah needed from him even though he messed up & respecting it? Amazing.
When Nicole wrote this book & the tropes along with it, I KNEW this was gonna be my book. I tell everyone she wrote it for me and our nerdy Broadway-loving selves.
I loved that this book can definitely be read as a stand-alone but knowing the side characters (especially Jackson & Gen’s) from the previous book was nice. I can’t wait for Gabe & Sage’s story next!
Tropes: childhood friend, brothers best friend, enemies to lovers, bitch of a mom
I highlighted so many things through out this book & found myself literally laughing out loud while reading it. Enjoy some of my faves.
“Trust me, princess, you haven’t seen me be a dick. I will ride you so hard that you fall asleep standing up, so don’t test me. BET BUD.
“If I knew this would make you so agreeable, I would’ve tried it ages ago. Yes, you should’ve.
“You know, you have the confidence of a much taller man. You should work on that. HAHAHA
“She has said my name with indignation, irritation, amusement, anger. She has called me every name in the book, though seldom the good ones, but nothing causes me to react quite like the sound of her moaning my name.
“You don’t look half bad on your knees for me, Park.
S/O to the Swifties in the room who are “pathological people-pleasers like Hannah and I ✋
There’s too many. I swear I highlighted half this book with my unhinged thoughts. So excited for this to be released to the world in January!

Hannah and Liam knew each other since they were kids. Their parents are friends. Now that they are adults, they ‘hate each other.
Reading about hate-to-love books without a valid reason for the hatred is a big no for me. If they are enemies or lovers, I need a REAL grade for it. Adult hatred without a valid reason is just embarrassing and childish.
I dropped this 15% in because FMC masturbated while thinking of her ‘enemy and that was the straw that broke the camel's back.
Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for this ARC.
There are some books that just flow easily from the moment you pick them up and then suddenly its 4 am and you have finished the entire thing and there is that feeling of contentment because it was just so good. This is certainly one of those.
This book has: enemies to lovers, brothers best friend, workplace romance, and forced proximity.
I suppose I will start with the characters. Hannah in particular was an absolute standout for me and in so many ways she is the archer by taylor swift personified. She has a pure heart of gold and as she grew throughout the book it really was so easy to root for her successes and personal growth throughout and the balance between this and romance was something that was incredibly special to me. She's vibrant, full of life, and someone worth fighting for and sometimes that has to come from within first and the way that she found that was something so beautiful. I saw myself in her at times and its always so nice to see these characters learning to choose themselves. I will admit Liam took some time to grow on me fully, but that's because my preference typically is not bully romances, but overtime it was quite easy to see how much he cares about Hannah and in my head we came to a mutual understanding where he promises to keep her happy forever <3 Also, her dynamic with her mom was complicated and I really liked this because it made the story feel more realistic. Often the families in these types of books showcase endless happiness and acceptance, but this is just not realistic and so I liked this more nuanced aspect of the book.
I have read many enemies to lovers books in my time, but I do believe it is very difficult to achieve it in a contemporary setting. Luckily, Nicole Ryan succeeds at crafting this narrative and more with their additive history, but also the fact that they have known each other since they were children. These two combined facts with the mixture of perfect tension made every situation one where it was comically obvious to everyone except for them, that they were totally meant to be together. Love really is about pushing each other to be the best version of yourself and this is exhibited throughout the book, but also it's about standing up for each other even when the situation is uncomfortable, if that was a love language that would probably be in my top two and the way Liam does this is so incredibly sweet. I was giggling, kicking my feet, having the best time ever with this book. Oh, and they DELIVER on the spice.
Now a few odd things I enjoyed about this book: the pacing was literally perfect, there is never a dull moment and never a moment where I am like okay it's not evening out... and this is also something that is quite difficult to achieve so really many props to you Nicole Ryan. The balance between tension, romance, and self-discovery was also perfectly balanced and also quite refreshing truthfully. Also I think in a lot of ways this book pulled me out of a reading slump and for that I am forever grateful to it (so is my goodreads goal tehe)
Special thanks to the author and netgalley for e-arc <3 I cannot wait for Sage's story!
It follows Hannah and Liam. They have known each other since forever and they share a mutual dislike. When she becomes his assistant at his dad's law firm, they're forced to spend a lot of time together leading Liam to reconsider his feelings, and they grapple with the question of whether love and dislike are closely connected.
This book was addictive, I couldn’t put it down. The banter between Hannah and Liam was everything I really liked their feisty discussions! Safe to say, I’ll be reading this author’s future releases.
On my way to read the first book in the series right away!
Read if you like: 🖇 enemies to lovers. 🖇 brother’s best friend. 🖇 workplace romance. 🖇 forced proximity. 🖇 secret situationship / dating. 🖇 second chance (ish) romance.
Thank you to the author, NCR Publishing and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.Mostly Loathing You by Nicole Ryan will be coming out on January 26th.
This book is a super emotional (literally had me squealing with joy in places) bully romance. It's frenemies to lovers, spicy and heart-warming in places.
I devoured this book in one sitting and regret nothing. As this was my first book from Nicole Ryan I was purely reeled in by the lovely cover but I was more than happy to stay along for the ride when devilishly handsome Liam shows up.
I loved Hannah, she is such a real, down to earth and loving person. I go through books not really connecting to the character but in this case, I really enjoyed learning about Hannah and her life.
It's beautifully written and it hits hard in all the right places.
Mostly Loathing You by Nicole Ryan Release Daye: 1/26/24 Format: ebook Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy of book two in the Just Peachy series by Nicole Ryan! I adored Second Chance Vacation so I couldn’t wait to start Hannah and Liam’s story!
This book is a must read for folks who like: -Childhood friends to lovers -Enemies to lovers -He falls first -Spice with a side of emotional growth!
I absolutely ripped through this book in one day and, while I wasn’t sold on Hannah or Liam in the first 25% (I don’t like bully romances so I wanted to kick Liam in the dick), Ryan really turned the characters into this beautiful and vulnerable couple I was genuinely rooting for!
The spice in this book is amazing too - off the charts chemistry!
I can’t wait until we get Sage & Gabe’s story in the fall!
Hannah and Liam are long time frienemies whose parents are BFFs. Hannah’s brother is Jackson (the beautiful man from Second Chance Vacation) and his BFF is Liam.
When Hannah needs a ‘real job and starts working for Baker and Park, her proximity to Liam Park starts to bring up old and new feelings that has them both in a STATE.
Their secret and workplace romance make for a spicy read that I was wholly submersed in.
This story was 🔥🔥 and I will be patiently waiting for the next Just Peachy book to come out.
I loved this so much! I was recommended this book by the author and sent to netgalley for the arc edition and I am so glad I asked for it. It was so funny and cute and my gosh the whole thing was just epic. Super sweet with just a hint of spice. Highly recommend. I couldn't put it down and stay up until 4am reading it.
Are you kidding me.. I. Loved. This. Book. Hannah and Liam had me on the edge of my seat this entire book. The absolute hatred that turned into the most steamy sexual tension that then turned into LOVE!!!!!! I was feeling all of the emotions. Liam has quickly became one of my favorite book boyfriends and I cannot wait to read the rest of Nicole’s books!!!

Ahhhh I really enjoyed this book! The banter between Liam and Hannah was everything!🙌🏻 I loved the sass, the come backs, and the smexual tension was so good to read.😮 The character growth throughout the book was fantastic. I loved the challenges that made Hannah learn how to love herself and Liam realize his way might not always be the best way to do things. When things heated up, the spice was delicious!🤌🏻 Liam might come across as a bit nerdy but the mouth on that man…😮.
Hannah and Liam have known each other forever. Their parents have been best friends their whole lives. Liam is also friends and coworkers with Hannah’s brother Jackson so their paths cross a lot. Over the last 9 years, Hannah and Liam have become “frienemies where they constantly try and make each others lives a living hell. When Hannah becomes desperate for a job, Liam’s dad offers her a position at his law firm as Jackson and Liam’s assistant. Liam is furious, and tries everything to get her to quit but Hannah is stubborn (and desperate for a paycheck) so she just grins and bears it. Spending so much time together wittles down their animosity towards each other into something…more. Temptation leads to crossed lines and the journey they take to get to their happily ever after is so much fun to read!
You’ll like this book if you enjoy:
🍑Enemies to lovers 🍑Brothers best friend 🍑Workplace romance 🍑Forced proximity 🍑Bully romance elements
I gave this book: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️.5
Thanks to Nicole Ryan for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion! 🫶🏻
i wanna start out by saying i'm very grateful i was given this as an arc! thank you to the author and NRC publishing. with that being said however, this just didn't hit the mark for me.
hannah thatcher-miles is a sweet character and i found myself relating to her a lot throughout the entire book. liam park, however, in my opinion was quite frankly just an inexcusable asshole for a huge majority of the book.
even after reading the flashback chapters and hearing his excuse and apology, i found it really hard to not dislike his character. the apology in question came, in my opinion, 40 chapters too late and included him apologizing for a "decade long rift" between the two. which, also in my opinion, is a weird way to say you were a bully to your best friends little sister for no reason other than the fact that you took her virginity, unknowingly, and was embarrassed you couldn't last more than 2 minutes. adding that to the fact that he basically cared more about his job for half the book than he claimed to care about her, it was simply just a no from me.
tl;dr: hannah is an angel, liam is a complete asshole, and she deserves so much better than him.

Big Thanks to Netgalley, The publisher and Nicole Ryan for this Arc!!
Despite my initial struggle to get into this book, I enjoyed it. However, getting fully into the story was a bit of a struggle for me.
Big appreciation for Hannah's relatable and sweet nature, Liam, in my view, remained an inexcusable jerk for the majority of the book. Even with the explanation on why he was a jerk to hannah I couldn’t warm up to him.
I also found myself struggling to finish the book, as their romance failed to captivate me.
However I identified strongly with Hannah, the FMC, I appreciated her growth, conveying a heartfelt message about self-worth. The banter in this enemies-to-lovers saga did give me moments of genuine laughter. I would’ve liked to have seen more of a buildup to the romance in this story.
Wow what a book, an incredible follow up to Second Chance Vacation.
A fab brother’s best friend/enemies to lovers, the chemistry, the spice, the characters. All of it was just so incredibly put together.
Hannah and Liam were my dream duo, I loved seeing their relationship progress from hate to love. The banter, the little comments to get under each others skin, the sizzle, it was so fun to read. Plus the protection Liam had over Hannah from her family, swoon.
I loved the depth of Hannah and Liam, their individual journeys had me rooting for them from start to end.
And amazingly I didn’t hate the nickname ‘princess in this book, it felt super natural at right for the characters and this story.
Overall, I loved this book, truly a gorgeous read.
When I tell you this book was absolutely amazing, I mean it! I got hooked and couldn’t put it down. The realistic writing and plot was everything! I love Liam and his character development and the same for Hannah. If you’ve read Second Chance Vacation, I’d definitely recommend following it up with this. It’s the feel good story everyone needs to read. I normally get nervous about where somethings going to go wrong, but it wasn’t extreme and it wasn’t a Ope I forgive you let’s get married. It was beautifully written. 10/10
So much fun getting to be an ARC Reader for this book!
Mostly Loathing You was one of the best enemies/rivals to lovers books I’ve read this year!
The plot progression and pacing was perfect, the tension was there, the characters were detailed.
Such a fun read, very easy to read and remain engaged!
Well worth the read when it is released!!

“Be careful, Liam Keep saying stuff like that and people might start to think you actually care about me.
“I may not own your heart, but you so much as let another person touch you like that again and you'll see for the first time just how mean I can actually be."
“You know, you have the confidence of a much taller man. You should work on that.
I adore Liam and Hannah’s story 😭 I was giggling and kicking my feet while trying to read this at work. Definitely would recommend if you’re a fan of enemies to lovers, because it gave everything I needed from that trope. Can’t wait for the rest of this series 🫶🏻
4.4/5 stars! I love Liam and Hannah so much! They remind me of Josh and Jules from Twisted Hate! I’m a big fan of enemies to lovers and this was done so well. The ending felt a little rushed though but overall, I loved it 🫠 thank you, Nicole, for the arc, I will always write out my honest thoughts :)
Though this book wasn’t entirely my cup of tea it was still cute. The best friend’s sister MMC can’t stand becomes his assistant. It’s an interesting dynamic in the way that it evolves. There are re a few plot points that I liked in the way the author handled strained familial relationships and a nice adaption to the dreaded third act breakup.
Thank you NetGalley and NRC Publishing for this ARC!
Good pacing, Hannah had good character development. Her mom sucks. Liam wasn't my favorite MMC, but he did some cute shit, so I'll let it slide. All-in-all, a fun story with some very funny moments and a few great spicy scenes.
The banter between “enemies Hannah and Liam was funny and kept the story going. Liked this one more than the first one. I just like Liam and Hannah’s relationship. I was laughing throughout most of the story but one part really hit me and had me a little emotional. All in all a good read for sure.
