A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

The blind date from hell is about to get hotter

Brianne Nave is never doing her friends a favor again. When they begged her to go on a blind date, she didn’t expect someone so perfectly gorgeous. She’s a mousy librarian—totally not in this man’s league. And judging by his odd reaction when she opens the door, he knows it, too.

Air Force Pararescuer Ryan Flannery avoids his hometown at all costs. He’s not thrilled about the date until he’s shocked silent by the prickly little librarian’s sweet curves and kissable lips…and her smart mouth. But then an argument leads to a kiss that spirals out of control. How can two people have so little chemistry outside the bedroom when they fit together so perfectly in it?

When their friends strand them in a cabin to "work things out," Bri’s not sure whether to kill him or put the industrial-sized box of condoms they find to use. Bottom line—Ryan’s career military and hates the tiny town she loves. He’ll leave, just like everyone else in her life. And if she’s foolish enough to give him her heart, he’ll take it with him.

Miltary men and romance are always a winning combination for my reading time. Katee Robert can write me a story to read any day, any year, anywhere and i'd gladly lock myself away for a few hours of pure indulgence, her stories are always packed full of romance and unfiltered sensual liaisons. Here we have yet another book that is both sexy, sweet and heartwarming and I have yet another fabulous story to add to my brazen addict shelf. Here are my 'in bed with mr wrong' book thoughts ...

What's it all about?
Brianne Nave is the town respected and adored town librarian. Thought of as the lovely but mousy, slightly nerdy book worm she enjoys her quiet and steady small town life. So It comes as a more than a little surprise when her friends set her up on a blind date with the 'way out of her league' military hero, Ryan Flannery. An explosive relationship ensues where dislike soon turns into passion but this moody, broody Air Force pararescuer doesn't intend on sticking around his old home town for long and Brianne is all about making roots after her unsettled childhood. The pair soon realise that they fit together in and out of the bedroom but when it comes to giving their hearts away will too many obstacles make finding true love impossible?

What did I love?
I can't resist an enemies to 'let-me-rip-your-clothes-off-please' themed story. Katee Roberts has created a story which packs more than a sexy punch and I adored this romantic soirée from the explosive beginning right up until the tear inducing end. The characters were loveable Brianne, was the perfect, prickly serious type. I loved how she was all cardigan-loving, serious book worm by day and sassy temptress 'let me do the most naughty things to your body please' by night. Ryan was a dreamy brazen hero, his charm had a moody, broody combination that was a perfect fit for this story and as far as chemistry goes this dirty talking military hero ticked some serious hot boxes for my reading experience. The connection between the couple was believable the author high lighted insecurities and miscommunication that I'm sure most readers can relate to or at least understand and it certainly had the sexy factor throughout the pages to keep things interesting. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this sexy brazen novel and glad to add another book to my brazen addict shelf.

Why not five?
This book was a little on the short side for my liking, I wanted more build up, more connection and a little more angst before the grand finale and ending. But let me tell you this, I love the brazen collection and Katee Roberts provides the perfect fix for an escape into love, so although the books didn't ring that five star bell, this rating is a solid 4 stars and a yearning for more books in this series.

Final thoughts ...
Katee Roberts provided the perfect story for a few hours of undiluted dreamy reading. This romantic, amusing and heart felt story was an easy to read treat that was a well written adorable story that left me feeling warm and dreamy inside. I could not have asked for more from this four star journey and I'm hoping if like me you can't resist a brazen fix that you will enjoy it too. Go grab it readers, enjoy ... Kisses.

They didn't like each other. Couldn't carry on a conversation without snipping at each other, and couldn't snipe at each other without ending up in compromising positions.

This book is exactly why I'm an obsessive Brazen junky. It was the perfect recipe to a deliciously spicy little read for me. I loved it!

Now let me start with saying that I happen to have a type...for my books that is. There is nothing more that I love more than an enemies to lover trope. Something about the snarky comments, insults, and barbs flying back and forth with an thick undercurrent of lust that never ceases to just do it for me. And if that happens to be your type too, then look no further than this book.

Ryan and Bri set the pages on fire, and I loved every fiery and passionate moment of it.

When Brianne Nave agrees on a blind date as a favor to her friend, she's not expecting much. She doesn't exactly date much. She's a little mousy, a little shy, and knows she's not prime male fantasy material. But when Ryan Flannery shows up on her doorstop, she's speechless. Until he makes it evident that she's clearly not what he expected. And this is when the insults start flying.

Bri and Ryan couldn't have less in common. Bri is a librarian that dreamed of living in the small town where everyone knows you and your business. Ryan is an Air Force Pararescuer, that wanted nothing more but to escape the town and leave it in the past along with his infamous reputation of being the son of the town drunk and the boy that burned the high school down.

To say that these two start off on the wrong foot would be a gross understatement. The snarky comments and insults start flying right off the bat. And let me just tell you. It is

Bri might be a mousy librarian, but she is certainly no push over. If anything I felt her to be a little harsh on Ryan at times. She never really thought twice about throwing his past in his face, even though she knew barely anything about it.

Now Ryan on the other hand was absolutely swoon worthy. I have a soft spot for military men in my books, and he was no exception. While Bri may have been running scared from their sexual chemistry, Ryan faced it head on.

One thing was certain—she thought this was over and done with between them. Well, he damn well didn’t. He wanted to know which was the real Bri—the snarling harpy from their date or the sweet, sexy thing from the porch—and the only way to do that was to see her again. They were going to talk this out, even if he had to lock her in a room to do it.

I loved the banter between these two.

You’re staring at me like you’re thinking— She blushed and frowned harder. "Knock it off."
"You’re projecting. I wonder why? Could it be that you recently had your mind blown?"
"Shut up. We’re in public."
"That didn't bother you the last time we were together."
"Oh my God, will you stop talking?"
"It’s not my fault someone has their panties in a twist."
She leaned in, kissably close. "Don’t think for a second that you had more than a passing effect on my panties."

And then when the banter would stop, the clothes would start flying. And let me just tell you, the chemistry between them? SCORCHING

A quick paced, sexy story about two very different people who find out they may have more in common than they thought. A first in a series that is already looking to be an auto-buy for me. I cannot wait to get my greedy little hands on the towns bachelor/sheriff and Ryan's brother Drew. Would it be possible that Avery might be the girl for him? Not sure. But a girl can hope :)

I really enjoyed this book. This was my first novel by Katee Robert, and it certainly will not be my last. It wasn't quite the amazing 5 star book for me (I tend to be stingy with my 5 stars). But it is a book I wouldn't think twice about re-reading, and I definitely liked it a whole heck of a lot.

If you're a fan of witty banter, swoon worthy military heroes, sassy and sharp tongued heroines, and a steamy story that will be sure to get your own panties in a twist then this book is definitely for you. Gotta love that Brazen yumminess!

Ryan and Bri are being set up. His brother and their friends all think they’re perfect for each other and force them to go on a terrible date and then be alone in a cabin without any way of coming back.
Initially they basically hate each other until the things become physical and they realize that are pretty awesome together in that department. And forced to be a alone with nothing else to do, eventually their dislike for the other will start taking another turn. (And yes, it is one of those books!)

A mousy librarian and a soldier home on leave are set up on a blind date. They have plenty of sparks between them, but in the form of verbally bashing each other.

Bri is a librarian who has moved to the small town of Wellingford to have a feeling of belonging and family. Her parents were killed when she was young and she had to grow up on foster care. She needed to get out of LA any way she could.

Ryan left Wellingford as soon as he graduated high school. He had to get away from the small town gossip and being known as drunk Billy's kid. He has come on leave for a couple of weeks and has agreed to a blind date that his brother and a friend have set up. He wasn't expecting the sexy little librarian at all.

Bri and Ryan get off to a very rocky start and end up trading insults through their date. They both just want it to end but an accidental kiss seems to have set a fire in both of them leaving them confused and wanting more. Their friends develop a plan and Bri and Ryan end up stranded together in a secluded cabin for a weekend. They definitely have physical chemistry, but can they resolve their issues together and be happy?

The idea of this story really drew me in, but I got really tired of the fighting and the trading insults. There were a lot of mean and immature moments that just drove me crazy. I wanted to tell both of them to just

Ok, moving onward now.....

★★★★½ Okay, I have to bump this up a notch just because I should have been reading something else, but I thought I’d see what ShoSho was laughing about... and started reading about Ryan and Brianne ...and couldn't put it down. I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, I’m a sucker for a “Snowbound plot. Yes, without revealing any spoilers, this one does qualify. LOL!

I found it hard to connect with Bri's character, she was a bit too stubborn for my liking. I loved Ryan's character though! And Avery, woot! I'm glad Bri had a sensible friend who made Bri realize the mistake she was making.

When small town librarian Brianne Nave and Air Force Pararescuer Ryan Flannery are set up on a blind date, they each have their reservations. Unfortunately, their low expectations are fulfilled when they get off on the wrong foot immediately after meeting. By the end of the night, both Brianne and Ryan are convinced of their incompatibility until a combustible kiss makes them rethink the situation. Can their intense chemistry lead to something stronger?

A great premise, but the plotting is weak, the characterization is superficial and the dialogue is stilted and does not flow naturally within the narrative. .

The initial conflict between Brianne and Ryan is completely contrived. While it is clear that Brianne has some deep insecurities, this does not explain why she would take offense and become so personal and nasty toward Ryan before he even has an opportunity to speak. Moreover, Ryan's issues with small town prejudices and gossip do not justify his intense animosity toward someone he has barely laid eyes on. The whole situation feels forced and unrealistic.

The plotting does not improve as the story progresses. The rapid transition from snide remarks to lusty sex makes absolutely no sense. These two people hate each other on sight, and no kiss, no matter how intense, is going to make them forget themselves so quickly.

The cabin in the wilderness trap is also a ridiculous and unnecessary plot twist. The secondary characters, Drew and Avery, can see that Brianne and Ryan have no problem with physical intimacy, so why would they think that more sex would solve their personality clash?

None of the characters are particularly likable. Brianne's portrayal as a sweet and shy librarian is completely negated by her inexplicable churlishness toward Ryan, and his sexy alphaness is undermined by his immaturity and bias.

In sum, the Brazen imprint has some wonderfully engaging books, but this is not one of them.

My first book from Katee Robert and definitely not my last.

In Bed With Mr. Wrong was soooo close to being 5 Stars, but Bri took just a tad too long getting her head out of her ass for my liking.

Absolutely adored Ryan, the poor guy was left with his nuts swinging in the breeze on more than one occasion, and managed to come back fighting each and every time...

Definitely an author who I will happily one-click in the future without too much thought.

Maybe it's just me not getting the scene between the h and the H when they first met but why on earth are they insulting each other and then keeps on wondering why someone is retaliating? It's like you keep on hitting the dog and wonders why it's snarling at you.

Another Brazen book added to my shelf yes it’s a guilty pleasure although, I’m not feeling to guilty ‘cause this one had something I love

Yes, I love it when characters are at each other’s throats one minute & then banging it out like animals the next. Angry sex is hot!

Of course, sex alone does not a great book make and unfortunately, this one did not have to many other redeeming qualities.
I didn’t really connect to the characters. Perhaps some more realistic situations or a true feeling of angst or despair? Most of the problems these two faced seemed superficial not because they actually were superficial problems, but because the writing style only seemed to skim the top of what could be some pretty deep emotions.
But it’s a Brazen book I don’t have high expectations for a super emotional read.

Overall a fun, quick read. Great for the moment when you just want to laugh and maybe light up your panties a little =D

Premise: Bri and Ryan are set up by mutual friends, and there is definitely chemistry but also lots of butting heads.

This book started off well, but the main characters were sniping at each other (and not in a fun way) for way too long. I also found it quite hard to connect with Bri she kept lashing out at Ryan, even when he was in caregiver mode. Overall it was an ok read but not my favourite.

I’ve read and enjoyed the next two books in this series, so think this one just wasn’t for me.

I really enjoyed this enemies-to-lovers story and got a kick out of the final conflict and resolution as Ryan and Bri come to some important realizations about themselves, each other, and what it takes to overcome one's past, misunderstandings and fears in order to embrace the gift of love.

As Bri's best friend, the wise and wonderful Avery, tells her close to the end of the story:

I really enjoyed the final scene before the epilogue. All I'm going to say is that you gotta love the nick of time...

Third person, Dual-POV, HAE. Can be read as standalone.

For two characters who hated each other right out the gate, this was equal measure hilarious and heart-warming.

Brianne is the studious librarian who reads to her fish. Hasn't been in a relationship in god knows how long, but when we open our story, she's been set up by a friend to go out with the brother of her friend's husband. Sounds okay, but her own insecurities and his pause when he first meets her sends them both into a tailspin.

Ryan is on leave from the military as a pararescuer, but could have done without coming back to the small town at all. Bad memories linked to his childhood, and a small mishap involving him that no one can shut up about, there's really not much but his brother that draws him back. The least he can do, though, is go out with the shy, sweet girl his brother described. There are worse ways to spend your time.

But, turns out, he's wrong.

"For a mousy librarian, you sure have a mouth on you."

These two butt heads, taunting each other but still connect physically at the end of the night, which definitely throws them off their game.

"You didn't know it could be this good? I'm just getting started. Forget setting your panties on fire. I'm gong to ruin you for any other man."

For two people who can't stand each other's company, they sure are rearing to go in the sack with one another.

When their friend/brother leave them stranded in a cabin in the snow, they have no choice but to spend time together in whatever way they see fit.

Sure, they still butt heads but their chemistry is a hard thing to ignore.

Soon, they discover that they might just have more in common than they think, and walking away ends up being harder than ever.

Fun fights, even more fun sexy scenes. Definitely a quick, enjoyable read for those fans of enemies to lovers.

'Til next time cuties ;)

I always enjoy Katee Robert's books when I'm looking for some brain candy, if you want a story that is funny, sweet and hot then you really can't go wrong with anything she's written and In Bed with Mr. Wrong is a perfect example of why.

Bri and Ryan are set up on a blind date by Ryan's brother Drew who also happens to be one of Bri's best friends. After a huge misunderstanding things are pretty much a disaster from the start and the pair can't seem to resist sniping at each other. Even though they can't seem to stop arguing there is no denying the attraction they feel for each other, and their rows always seem to end in kisses hot enough to set them both on fire. Bri is determined to avoid Ryan and the temptation he offers, especially since she knows that he'll be leaving in a couple of weeks on his next tour of duty and getting involved is almost guaranteed to end in heartbreak but Ryan is desperate to get to know her better. When they end up stranded in a cabin for three days thanks to the help of some meddling friends it doesn't take them long to realise what an amazing physical connection they have but can they stop arguing long enough to find out if they actually have enough in common to build a lasting relationship.

I really liked both of the main characters, Bri is quite shy until you get to know her but she's also incredibly down to earth and the kind of woman you could easily be friends with. She's never had much in the way of a family and all she really wants is to settle down somewhere and build a life for herself, she loves her job as a librarian but she also wants a relationship and to start a family of her own. She loves the small town she has moved to and even enjoys the way everyone knows everyone's business and that people really seem to care about each other. Ryan was the town bad boy growing up and the nosy busybodies have never let him forget it, even though he has achieved a lot in his life as an adult and is proud of his job as an Air Force Pararescuer he always feels like a naughty child in his home town and he has spent years avoiding going back there. The last thing he wants is to settle down, especially in the place he grew up so he really shouldn't be interested in starting anything with Bri. She's unlike any woman he's ever known though and perhaps being with her might make the town feel like home.

I laughed a lot reading this story, trouble certainly seems to follow Ryan around and the couple managed to get into a few embarrassing situations that were really amusing to read about. They were actually a really cute couple and the chemistry between them was incredible. I did get a tiny bit irritated with their constant arguing at one point but I enjoyed the banter between them and I was glad they were able to put their differences behind them. In Bed with Mr. Wrong was a really quick read and I enjoyed every minute of it, I loved the side characters so was really excited to find out that Drew and Avery have a book of their own and I can't wait to see how things play out between them.

3⭐️ I liked it. There were some fun parts to read, but I just got agitated with the FMC.I was gonna give it a 3.5 or a 4, but the more I read this, it's the same thing. Sex, fight, sex, fight. Bri gets annoying throughout the story. She's always blaming Ryan when really it's her fault. She jumps to conclusions on so many occasions, and then Ryan has to break it down for her cause she's not comprehening what his saying. Basically, Bri misjudge everything he says, hence why Ryan gotta help her out.

Moving on to the banter. I'm here for it, but at the same time, their almost 30 and yet there bickering over dumb shit that doesn't need arguing. If Bri didn't jump to conclusions, then their first date would be great, but nope, she's gotta make this guy uncomfortable and irritated with her behaviour. I think the author's idea was to make them enemies so there like a "hate fuck" yk. Oh, and after the date, wanna take a wild guess on what they did after he took her home? That's right, they fucked on her porch swing. Shocking turn of events🙄🙄🙄 like come on, you literally just met, had a useless argument and decided "yea lets fuck here in public". If your paranoid about your small town (given to his history there) then DON'T. FUCK. IN. PUBLIC. Especially in a car while driving. (That's a whole other story that doesn't need much explaining)

Now to Bri's issue. She hates the idea of being close to someone because she has had a shit childhood but for some reason, she wants to drag that part of "trauma" into her adulthood. Like appreciate the friends you have and the job. How are you gonna let Avery and Drew in your life but not Ryan? What's the difference? After everything Ryan did for Bri, she still has the audacity to be like, "I can't believe you're leaving me even tho that's part of your job. Fuck off I don't want you anymore" like girl, hate to break it to you, he isn't gonna leave his position to live in a town he despise.

Lastly, flirting was so cheesy, especially when they got together. I couldn't read those sentences without rolling my eyes and be like "yea yea your the only girl for me, your mine, I'm hopelessly in love with you. blah blah blah". I mean it's written long ago so it's whatever. I liked the idea of story.

This is my first official Brazen and I can tell you right now: IT WON'T BE MY LAST. I have several Brazens on my Kindle, but just haven't found time to read them. They are such fast reads, however, that I will be sneaking them in at every possible opportunity!

In Bed With Mr. Wrong was a fun, cute, steamy read and I devoured it in no time at all! I loved Bri and Ryan's characters and their back and forth banter was hilarious! They are total opposites but they have some incredibly hot sexual tension! They do NOT get off on the right foot at all and have a seriously awkward blind date. Yet, they didn't let that awkwardness interfere with how the date ended that's for sure! Whew!

Bri definitely let her defenses get the best of her. She grew up in foster care and didn't have the best experience with it. Too many times she felt unwanted or abandoned and she now has some self-confidence issues. Ryan's expression when he first sees her reminds her all too well of the look her first set of foster parents had when they first saw her. Her first instinct is self preservation and she ends up making some snide comments and brings up his past, throwing it in his face.

Ryan definitely doesn't back down from the challenge. He's just as stubborn as she is and doesn't let her sling insults without dishing them back in return. Bri let the pain of her past interfere and she jumped to conclusions about Ryan's initial thoughts. He is taken back by how beautiful she was, but how she LOOKED the part of a librarian. He is annoyed she thinks he's a charity case, as he's only home on leave for a short time. She doesn't know the first thing about him and he doesn't like that she makes her assumptions based on hearsay. Ryan also didn't have the best childhood growing up. He had his brother Drew, but that was it. Their father was a drunk and Ryan had earned a reputation as the troublemaker kid. This is one of the reasons he had to get out of his small hometown that Bri loves.

Hands down the fact that these two go from fighting to trying to crawl inside one another is my favorite aspect. I always loved how in The Notebook Allie and Noah would scream and fight with one another but then turn around and can't get enough of each other. That is exactly how Bri and Ryan act and it is oh-so-HOT.

Drew and Avery (Drew's best friend and a good friend to Bri) are plotting to get the two together and end up stranding them in a cabin with one another for a few days- Bri and Ryan are NOT happy with the development, but being stranded definitely has its perks.

I really liked Drew and Avery. They have been best friends forever and their scheming and plotting to get Ryan and Bri together is great. We don't get a whole lot of them, but from what I can gather, they are going to be fun characters to get to know in Drew's story (which I think is next)

While Bri frustrated me with her insecurities, I understood why she was so against letting Ryan in. Letting him in would make her vulnerable and she is terrified of that feeling of abandonment. She likes her small town and her job- both are reliable and make her feel safe. Ryan's job is dangerous and he doesn't want to put down roots in Wellingford. Ryan makes her FEEL so much and she is afraid of getting in so deep with him she won't be able to dig her way out after it's all said and done. Ryan is a champ for not completely losing his cool with her. She frustrates him, but the more intimate they are, he realizes he really does care for her and she is hiding behind her fear. As much as he wants her, he won't let her play games with him and I was pretty proud of Ryan for standing up for himself.

Ryan and Bri have some really tender, sweet moments and I liked seeing these two get to know one another and tear down each other's defenses. Falling for each other may not have been in the cards, but sometimes love will find you where you least expect it. It's up to Bri and Ryan to make the choice as to whether they will take the plunge with one another or spend their lives running scared.

The idea for this book could have been fine, but I couldn’t stand Bri.

When Bri first meets Ryan, she jumps to conclusions and keeps insulting Ryan, which makes him respond in kind. I really didn’t like her character because she takes one thing Ryan says the wrong way, without giving him a chance to explain, and insults him at every chance she gets.

After their date, which doesn’t end well because of Bri, Ryan drops her off and suddenly they are overcome with their attraction for each other. What attraction? The only thing that was mentioned so far was Bri thinking the worst of Ryan while Ryan says some things that can be taken the wrong way.

Another scene that made no sense to me was them eating the eggs. It was completely ridiculous, and I didn’t see the point in it. Bri doesn’t know how to cook but is too proud to admit it so she eats the disgusting eggs she made. Fine, I didn’t care about her anyway. But I didn’t understand why Ryan also ate them.

Throughout this whole book, it felt like Ryan would say something, Bri would take it the wrong way and insult him, then he would try to forget the insult or apologise to her. She never does anything to show that she’s sorry and it was really annoying because she was always the instigator of their petty arguments.

Ryan doesn’t really like the small town he grew up in because everyone knows about the mischief he caused when he was younger, and they keep reminding him of the incidents. Conveniently, at the end of this book, it turns out that the town is actually really proud of him and wasn’t making fun of him.

This book has definitely put me off reading the rest of this series, mainly because of Bri. I think Ryan might have been a great character, and I don’t think that it was fair for him to end up with Bri.

Short and sweet, this is the story of Brianne, a librarian who wants to put down roots in the small town she recently moved to, and Ryan, the town's bad boy who has barely been back since he left after high school.

They are both tricked into going on a blind date with each other, supposedly as a favor for their friends and things go wrong from the first moment they meet. Brianne, who's got a bucketful of issues, finds Ryan gorgeous and way out of her league, so she lashes out at him and misunderstands everything he says, causing their date to be a disaster. Ryan, who is also not on his best behavior since her comments got under his skin, is more than ready to drive her home and not have to see her again, when their bickering leads to a scorching kiss that leaves them both breathless.

After that, it's only a matter of time before their seriously intense physical attraction leads to more, but only after .

A quick and enjoyable read, with a couple that make each other better and end up better people than they were before getting together.

The series continues with a novella, His to Keep.

There is a reason I don't read a lot of romances where the guy is in the military. I am easily annoyed and frustrated when/if the female MC doesn't even try to understand that his job will always come first. At least until he is discharged. It doesn't matter how much he loves you or would rather be with you he has no choice but to go where they tell him when they tell him to. There is no point in trying to guilt trip him about having to leave and possibly heading into dangerous territory. In fact I think it's pretty cruel. You can either deal with his job or not deal with it. Dropping all your insecurities right on top of his shoulders right before he leaves is not a good idea. But that is just one military spouse's rant. Moving on...

So Bri annoyed me. A lot. It seemed 95% of their fighting were started by her because of her insecurities. But she always seemed to blame Ryan. Every single little thing Ryan said or did had to be for the soul purpose of insulting or offending her. He wants to cook breakfast for them? Asshole. He wants to do the dishes? Asshole. Rinse and repeat.

On the other hand I liked Ryan. He could get snippy but most of the time it was in retaliation to her attitude. And despite all of that he still did whatever he could to keep her comfortable. He was a really sweet guy.

My final rating: 3.5

Decent spice, good albeit predictable storyline. The epilogue wouldn’t be for everyone but I really enjoyed it.

Minus points for the phrase ‘making love, the same two insults being recycled over and over and the fact that Bri was one of the most unlikable characters I’ve ever come across. Why would you pick a fight over someone else offering the do the dishes?

This is an amazing example of a romance novel done right. Hot alpha male…check. Feisty heroine…check. Smoking hot chemistry…check. Burn the pages sex scenes…double check. And all of that together with the roller coaster ride of getting to know and falling in love with someone and you’ve got the perfect book. I was immediately captivated by this book and Ryan and Bri. I loved them separately, but especially when they were together. The snarky back and forth bickering was fantastically entertaining, even when it was frustrating because all I wanted them to do was talk it out.

I saw a lot of myself in Bri. She’s a mousy librarian who thinks a fun Friday night is curling up with a good book (me too, except the mousy librarian part, although I’ve always wanted to be a librarian). She has a betta fish that she loves and talks to (I so did that with both of mine until they died). There are quite a few moments in the book where she compares her situation to the books she reads (I’ve been known to do that). She also tended to jump to conclusions and take things out of context (yep, I’ve been known to do that too), which often led to the snarky bickering that really was so much fun to watch.

Ryan really is the perfect alpha male. And he’s a military hero to boot…swoon. The things he does to Bri is so freaking hot…on the porch swing…against the wall…on the bearskin rug…yes please!! But he’s also sweet and vulnerable and caring. He’s also bullheaded and had a tendency to jump to conclusions and take things out of context. It was evident from the start that Ryan and Bri were perfect for each other. One of my favorite scenes in the book is when Bri is reading a romance book and Ryan asks her to read it out loud to him, she does until she gets to the steamy part and then he takes over. I suddenly want a man to read me a hot romance novel.

This is only my second Katee Robert book, but I fell for her writing style while reading the first one, now I’m totally in love with her. She has found a permanent spot on my must read author list which meant I had to rush out to buy her other Brazen books. I can’t wait to read them. Hopefully life and other books will let me get them in soon. In the meantime, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves hot romances and amazing characters.

I love me a good Katee Robert book & this one didn't disappoint!

In 'In bed with Mr Wrong' we have Bri, a librarian whose past has her avoiding risks or stepping out of the comfort of the life she has created.

We also have Ryan. An Airforce Paratrooper who ran out of his home town as fast as he could when he graduated. He feels he is branded by his past. He reluctantly comes back to town on break & is setup on a blind date by his brother.

Their friends think they are perfect for each other. Problem? They like to kiss each but they seem to be incapable of talking without insulting each other and arguing.

Will 3 days trapped in a cabin together allow them to see the connection their friends are convinced they have?

The banter between these two is Awesome!! I really enjoy the wit these two are throwing out.

"that said, for a librarian, you sure have a mouth on you"

'I would say it's been a pleasure', she said, 'but I don't make a habit of lying'

I really enjoyed this book. It had the right amount of humor, the characters had depth, no parts of the book seems to last too long or feel rushed and of course in Katee Robert fashion there was a good dose of steaminess!!

If you are a Katee Robert fan you will enjoy this book. If you are a Brazen fan you will enjoy this book. If you haven't read a Katee Robert book or a Brazen book, what are waiting for?

My Review:
Overall: 3.5
Performance: 3.75
Story: 3.5

Audible/Entangled were running a special on their companion audiobooks to their kindle editions and this is one that I picked up because of that special. I liked listening to it in audio, because if I waited to read the kindle edition in my kindle TBR pile of around 800 books, I probably would have never gotten around to it.

This book holds a fun story about two people who truly do not get along with one another. Ryan is an Air Force PJ and Brianne is a librarian. They're set up on a blind date by mutual friends and it goes incredibly badly in a series of just bad incidences of eavesdropping and circumstances. But their friends aren't willing to give up. They know these two are perfect for one another despite all appearances. So they set out to fix things. And that's where this book gets really good.

I loved the story once Ryan and Brianne were trapped at the cabin. From the stashes of condoms EVERYWHERE to the way they slowly began to connect in ways more than sexually, this book was pure fun to read (or listen to, as the case may be).

I'll admit I had no idea how the author was going to end this book so there could truly be a HEA. That's one of Brianne's issues with Ryan. She loves this small town she's adopted. He hates it and refuses to even consider coming back here. On top of that, he's a military man who puts himself in front of danger on a daily basis. Brianne has already lost too much to lose a lover, too. It's better just to not put in the effort with him.

It was a good book/audio. It's not a super-long one so it's not a huge commitment of time. The narrator did a fabulous job. I recommend it and I'll tell you, if you can buy the kindle the audio is usually offered at a really good discount that makes it worth it. If you're interested, that's the route I recommend.

This book had me laughing from the very beginning and I was hooked immediately. You will quickly see why when the heroine Bri and hero Ryan first meet as part of a blind date. They do nothing but snipe and bitch at each other and it's unbelievably pure fun to read.

When Ryan says lines like this on their first date " If there wasn't such a large stick up your ass, you'd be begging me to rip off those lily-white granny panties - with my teeth". You know the chemistry between them is going to explode and boy does it.

What comes after the disastrous date is HOT, and ends with more chuckle inducing barbs.

But the fun really starts when after a little incident with a mail box and street light, ok a hot little incident, when their friends decide to strand them in a cabin for the weekend. The barbs continue, but soon they start to get to know each other better and the more they find out, the quicker they start to fall.

Ryan and Bri are two fantastic characters. They each have hard pasts to deal with, but somehow both of them manage to help the other heal. Bri with how she makes Ryan see his hometown differently and Ryan with how he proves not everyone walks away to Bri.

Throw in some more fun and I'm hoping future book characters in Ryan's brother Drew and best friend Avery.

Not to mention the creative places Drew and Avery stashed condoms at the cabin, some of which had me in tears laughing, the rug ???

This is my favourite book by this author so far, and I'm already wanting to reread it. Katee Robert writes characters that are real and have real hang ups, worries and that's why I love them and her writing and keep coming back for more.

4 stars - Smokin' hot chemistry that will turn you right onto the next page!

It's amazing what one little misunderstanding can do between two people and then you add some pride and things just get out of hand. That would be the issue between Ryan and Bri. It would also be the end of the story except for some smokin' hot chemistry that wasn't gonna be denied.

It was totally fun watching these two banter. They could find each others buttons in the dark and so push. But as soon as their lips touched a different story was told.

I enjoyed these characters. Ryan, I loved. He gets over being a jerk and is trying faster than Bri does. The chemistry between them intrigued him and he needed to understand her. She wasn't gonna make it easy for him though. I did want to slap her at one point. She held on to her witchy ways way too long if ask me but I guess she did have her reasons. In the end, I was happy with both of them.

The story grabbed me fast. I started it late at night and I didn't want to stop reading it. I will admit that there was a point where I wanted to throw the book more than read it but that quickly vanished. I read it in about a day.

These two have some smokin' hot chemistry. Bri may not like the mousy librarian reference but it's true as far as her bedroom experience is concerned. The thing is that Ryan's hands and mouth can wake her like nothing else ever has and he, for sure, has ruined her for all other men.

If you love the Brazen line, then this one is a must. So yummy. If you like your romance a little on the hot side, then this is a must. If you love romance that turns you on, then this is a must.
