Retail never changes, no matter the system used to run it.

When Arthur Clark, wage slave and bookworm, takes a bat to the head, he assumes his days of dreary counter minding are over. Instead, a dragon who calls herself a goddess gives him an offer he can’t refuse. The job is simple on the surface, manage a store in an apocalyptic city and bring her currency to the people there.

Upon arrival at his new home, he finds himself with little more than the clothes on his back and the equivalent of a child’s lemonade stand.

Alone in an unfamiliar world, Arthur must manage his store, collect new employees, and hunt down his own merchandise. All in a city filled with a variety of threats, both human and not.

With taxes owed to the goddess, he’ll need to deal with all types to keep up with his bottom line. Wannabe knights, starving survivors, and gangsters who watched too many mafia movies are only a few of the new customers who’ll grace his doorstep. Now all he needs to do is to avoid being taken over long enough to call himself an actual manager...

Pretty interesting story

I enjoyed the story, however I kind of wish some of the drama would of happened either later in the book or in a sequal however i would still recommend the book to people who are looking for this type of story

fun

A low Lee store does and gets pressed ganged by a goddess into running a store in another world’s apocalypse. He hast to find merchandise and ways to survive the apocalypse. He makes friends, fills quests, and gets put under the thumb of the mafia. And so he needs to find a way to escape the mafia. He does by making friends. Now he has another game looking for him.
This is a unique interesting read. It has good world building, a really fast pace, it’s somewhat lighthearted easy to follow. It’s a good chewing gum book. Don’t think too heavily on it but enjoy it for what it is a nice relaxing quick read. Please enjoy .

Quite an interesting concept and done much better than Jake's Magical Market. I like how there's real character interaction there. Real character development other than the department of power.

The first half of the story, however, is a bit of a drag. I did skip some pages trying to get to a more interesting part since descriptions of rats and sewer with rats is just a too predictable route. But I now see why it was needed as it was kind of a big plot device for the next part.

Now when MC finally gets to upgrade his store is when things get interesting. Hope to see book 2 soon.

I had this book for months. At first I was willing to read it, but then I saw some bad reviews, and my friend dropped it.
I'm willing to finally get rid of it because it's so short. Should finish in less than a day.

I wanted to drop this when I started, but pushed through and finished it.

While the book wasn't bad, it wasn't to my liking. The poor protag being a pawn, only to be reincarnated to be a better pawn was meh. Also for someone that has read a lot of books, him thinking outside the box and using loopholes was atrocious.

I won't pick up the sequel.

3.5* Slow starter with a rather infuriating MC he just sees the bad in the world and shows that he could be more than he is. I love Nissa and Augustus they are amazing and really make things better. There are many players in this and so much coming in with the world building so I really hope it picks up as was struggling with this one a bit. Good premise but slow going at the moment with a lot of set up for later events.

A fun read

For once we have a ordinary store employee that gets killed band is forced to manage a new site tall in another world with hardly any information or help. So our poor hero is not over powered and he does not know anything. Give it a chance it has sci-fi and magic and mutants and knights and reminds and don't forget the mafia.

Gradual build

I like it when characters are slowly built up over time, and this main character starts about as low as you can get. This book also isn't afraid of being about as weirdly different as you can imagine, except in a good way.

Book one

I really enjoyed this story and have been following it since it came out on Royalroad.
Really need to go back and read any new chapters.
It's an interesting take on running a store in a world that has gone through an apocalypse.

Loved the unique story the author came up with. It as well as the world building is really what made this book shine.

Wasn’t a huge fan of the MC’s tendency to be extremely cowardly. Granted he does redeem himself at the end, but it’s hard to root for a character you actually don’t like.

Excellent!

I haven’t read a lot of LitRPG, so I'm nowhere near a connaisseur, but that was so different from what I ever read, it was a fresh breath of air!

It was an interesting story but MC tends to be railroaded into situations and have no control over anything in their life.

Lots of cool concepts though, if characters can become more relatable.

I love the idea, was even looking past flaws, yet as the book goes on, it takes a very weird turn that only really is shown in future chapters /books it still worth a read if your less picky but I did not like the shift.
