- Summer Romance

Discovering 'new to me' authors is always a joy, and I'm delighted to have come across Tyra Lynn. Trinity Point is a heartwarming summer romance that beautifully unfolds the story of two individuals who not only find themselves but also discover the comfort of each other.

After breaking up with her fiancé and quitting her job, Parker ends up house-sitting for her uncle for the summer. This is exactly what she needs as she navigates the huge changes happening in her life and determines what she wants to do next. After meeting her cute neighbor Ben, he offers to show Parker around. As they spend time together, they develop a wonderful friendship. I enjoyed both of these characters; they are believable, relatable, and flawed. The slow burn was perfect as it allowed Ben and Parker's relationship to fully develop. Although difficult, they learn to truly open up to each other, sharing their insecurities and fears. There is no spice; however, the genuine connection between Ben and Parker is felt throughout the story.

Trinity Point is a story of unexpected love, self-discovery, and friendship. This easy read kept me turning the pages and wanting to know what happens next. This book elicited many emotions, especially in the last few chapters. I did not expect the story to end as it did, but I understand and appreciate Parker making the best decision for her life. I can only hope Parker's story will continue in a future book.

Thanks to Tyra Lynn and Sunny Babe PR for a gifted copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.

@tyra.lynn.writes but let me tell you I love everything about this book and the plot that goes along with this book. Like from the beginning on the book I like Parker because she was like I don’t need a man to help me live my life anymore and I’m going to live my life how I want to live it #. Like I think it was sad that her ex fiancé broke up with her the way he did but at the end of that whole relationship they both knew they were not right for each other. Now let get to Parker and Ben love story yes it a slow burn one but I think the reason why I love this book so much was yes they did like each other from the moment they met each other but with their past and the trauma that they had been but though I get why they didn’t want to jump in feet first like they didn’t want to messed up the friendship that they had developed with each other. But I love how she got back into writing a book and it a perfect book because it how she knows she doesn’t need to chase after a man and plan her whole life around that person. Im glad that they found each other after one year and she wrote and published her book about the love

Shoutout to @sunnybabepr for the ARC!
This book. This booooookkkkk. Omg. I absolutely devoured this book. Parker is amazing and so is Ben. Both of them together made me fly through the book, and I couldn’t get enough. It gave me Emily Henry vibes which I loved. The best part of the story is that it is realistic and the romance is well done. Nothing is rushed or feels forced at all. Parker does her best to figure out her next steps and she and Ben develop a friendship too. The friends to lovers trope was soooo good in this book. Also, the ending was realistic and perfect in my opinion. I would def read more from this author!

So happy I had the opportunity to get a copy of this read from Sunny PR! It caught my attention from the first moment, and pulled me in with the summer beach vibe, friends to lovers, resisting romance, lost in life trying to find your path, and almost killed me at the end, but then left me with all the feels! I loved the playfulness of the characters and it left me laughing and smiling!

I am so honored to have received an ARC of this book. It was so cute and I ate it up in a single day!! I will say I wished there was more intimacy between Ben and Parker but this was still super good. I loved the “rich town guy and the chill, laid back girl vibe spending her summer at a beach house. The banter was pretty good and I enjoyed the side characters in Parker’s life. I will say the ending was good but a little abrupt, I loved that Parker didn’t chase the guy but worked on finding herself and her life passion.

This was such a fun summer/beach romance. It was so easy to catch up and the writing style was also quite good. This story was about a girl named Parker. Her life was just picture-perfect but as excepted it wouldn’t last too long. Her fiancé decides to dump her for his high school sweetheart and life for Parker hasn’t been the same.

As a girl in her 20s, Parker decided to take a break from her life and decides to travel Europe and this is where her journey starts. Shes trying to find her and what’s the next step she’s gonna take in life. This part of story makes Parker such a realistic and relatable character and I’m sure so many of you are gonna love her for that.

Overall, a very easy read and the story was fast faced. I think anyone can read this book and contents are suitable for almost all age groups. If you’re looking for something light and easy to read, this is the one I’d recommend to you all!

Summer love. Parker is newly single and trying to step out of comfort zone a little. She was asked to housesit her uncles summer beach house in Trinity Point. She’s going through a bit of a quarter life crisis and is questioning her life choices up until this point. She meets Leah and is introduced to world she’s not used to. A privileged world. I think it’s cute how the author uses the FMC as an aspiring author herself, and gives us a little insight into writing. Parker wants to write a romance book and uses some of her new friends as characters. But will this sorry back fire on her, and have a HEA? This was a straight forward romance book, I like that Parker was taking time to focus on herself. It shows that you should always be happy with yourself before trying to make others happy. Let me first say that I’ve never related to a book more than this one before! There was a point in my life where I was Parker! After her engagement to her fiancé ends and she quits her job, Parker is presented with opportunity to house sit for her uncle in the small beach town of Trinity Point. She fully plans on taking the summer to figure out what her next steps are in life. When a stranger mistakenly enters her uncle’s house, she meets Ben: the witty next door neighbor. Parker decides to pursue a dream of hers: writing a book. She begins writing her novel, loosely basing one of the characters on Ben. As their friendship begins to blossom, you can start to see that both Parker and Ben develop feelings for each other. What happens when Ben finds out about the novel? Will their relationship stand or will it falter?

This was a cute addictive beach romance x it had me wanted to know more and what happened next, I loved how the relationship progressed between Ben and Parker. Also the side characters were cute and entertaining I would like to see books about their story. And the ending was so adorable, I liked how it was different from other romances and how Parker put herself and her well being first.

When I was reading this I felt I was actually there in the book which I think is really important to feel when reading. All in all it was a great and quick romance read.

"Don't lose yourself trying to find someone else."

This was such a bittersweet friends-to-lovers story.

Parker is a loveable, awkward, adorable female main character - Ben is her quiet, introverted counterpart/best friend/love.

This is the perfect beach read for your summer - it made me laugh, cry, and think about taking the plunge to try to write my own story.

Thank you so much to @sunnybabepr for choosing me to be part of this tour!

Overall Thoughts: (including why it received it’s rating)
4 stars- I found this book to have a clear plot that was well-developed and thought through to engage the readers in a young adult journey.

I’m always a harsher critic when it comes to romance books since I read so many of them, and this book being a debut for author @TyraLynn AND it superseded my expectations. We start with an introduction to our main character Parker Neely, who has a house-sitting gig over the summer on a coastal, beach-front property. As the summer goes on, Parker embarks on a journey of love, friendship, and self-discovery that had me full of empathy and emotion.

What I liked:
A relatable main character. From the moment I stepped into this book, the main character felt extremely relatable. As someone who cares a lot about making the “correct decisions, is in her mid-twenties, and has faced confusion around boys and career choices alike, it felt like this book was everything I experienced in my early twenties written down onto paper. Parker is not a girl who is going to settle, and I found her personal development throughout the novel to be inspiring.

The Tropes. Lynn did an amazing job with the tropes that she chose to write. She mastered the slow burn and character development of Parker Neely as well as seemingly-bad boy meets boy next door, Ben Cooper. Though I felt like some descriptive details could have been left out, it is clear that Lynn took the time to ensure her readers would be connected to the characters of the book personally. The book reminded me of how important it is to feel unconditional love from those around you, and how you can choose to never settle for less.

Overall Summary:
You never know how things are going to work out. By the time I finished reading the book I found myself wanting more- a sequel- anything to continue the story that had played out during the lives of these characters in one Summer. I couldn’t help but find my own emotions, memories of love & lust, and trials I’ve faced being brought out by the emotion in this book. The only reason I didn’t give this book five stars is because I thought the side-characters could have more development to add to the overall novel. However, I absolutely look forward to hearing about more from this author, and reading any more books that she has to come. I highly recommend this as a light, easy read to get in touch with the reasons that I pick up a book.

I loved this sweet read! I really connected to all the characters, and was invested in the story. I loved the author’s take on a book-within-the-book, leaving me questioning if this is also based on herself for a real inception-type event. But truly; this was well-executed, short and sweet, while still telling a great story.

The banter was witty and not overdone. While there were a lot of glimpses into other characters, none felt superfluous. I liked both the FMC and MMC, and found myself with empathy for each throughout. I appreciated the themes of growth, self-discovery, striving for passion, and remaining true to oneself, while still delivering a cute beachy rom-com.

Thank you Tyra for the wonderful read, and congratulations on your debut book!

ARC Review

Thank you @tyra.Lynn.writes and @happilybookedpr for the gifted eARC.

Parker thought she was living her ideal life. She graduated college, had a stable job, and was engaged to her college boyfriend. Then it all went south when her fiance left her for his high school girlfriend, and she realized that her job wasn't as fulfilling as she thought, so she quit. Now she's on her way to her uncle's beach house to spend three months house sitting for him. On her first night there, she meets her new neighbor as he accidently, drunkenly breaks into her backyard. She sees Ben as a privileged, hot, rich boy who would be the perfect inspiration for the male lead of the story she wants to write. So Parker befriends Ben for book research purposes. As the two spend time together getting to know each other, Parker realizes she read Ben completely wrong. What started out as research and friendship turns into Parker feeling so much more for Ben. But what happens at the end of the summer?

Trinity Point is a friends to lovers, slow burn, small beach town romance. This is a fast read where both main characters are dealing with their own conflicts, and through the course of the story, they both go on a journey of growth and self-discovery. At times, I felt the pacing of the story was off, and some of the character interactions were cut short. I wanted more depth and dimension between the relationship development between Parker and Ben. I wasn't a huge fan of the ending. The story ended too abruptly, and things weren't wrapped up nicely. For a first novel, Tyra Lynn did a good job. It was cute, and it had an amazing premise.

❓️QOTD: Do you prefer to vacation at the beach or mountains?

❗️AOTD: I like the beach because I'd rather be swimming and laying in the warm sun reading.

Ben offers to show Parker around and thus they develop a great friendship. Over the summer both are at a crossroads in life. Ben doesn’t want to go to law school and wants to travel for a while. Parker wants to figure out her life and next steps. She decides to write a book. What will happen at the end of summer? Will Ben leave her behind to travel? Will Parker become a published author? ARC Review.

This book was so freaking cute! Safe to say I throughly enjoyed this cozy book. It was so sweet.
Parker our MFC wanted to forget all her problems when her Uncle Doug asked if she would house sit over the summer and look after their cute cat Edgar.

She takes the adventure and heads to the beautiful Trinity Point, and meets the Cocky Ben Cooper.
Her friend Leah who she meets down there, become fast friends and insists she becomes friends with Ben. Their friendship bloomed and I was living for it! He had some trust issues and trauma and he opens up to her, she becomes his first real friend in a long time. I loved their banter too, It flowed really easily.

I honestly could not turn the pages quick enough. This book was had such an easy flow, the characters were great. I personally related to Parker in a few ways, which was a nice touch for me. The descriptions were really well done, you could definitely picture what Trinity bay would look like.
Very minimal spice, but the slow burn was so romantic. I ate it up.

If you are looking for a cozy, light read I would definitely recommend!

Tropes: Contemporary Romance, Beach Romance, Friends to Lovers, Will they Won’t They, Self Discovery, Slow Burn, Small Beach Town

Parker is a young woman who just got dumped by her fiance, and quits her job as she realized she was not happy where she was. Her uncle asks her to house sit over the summer while he vacations in Europe. Even though life was panning out exactly like Parker envisioned, except being dumped by her fiance, she is nowhere near happy or feeling fulfilled. So, she decides that the summer will be one of self discovery and finding out what actually makes her happy in life all while enjoying a nice little vacation in a gorgeous house on the beach. Life, of course, throws a curve ball as the hot neighbor drunkenly stumbles into Parker’s backyard and sets off an entire chain of events.
The story started off a bit slow for me. It just didn’t really capture my full interest until Parkers starts to hangout with Ben and the slow burn starts. The interaction and banter between the two kept the story fun and light, but also let the more serious moments feel intense since the conversation usually stayed upbeat. I liked the idea of stumbling into a passion after so long of thinking life should go in one direction.
Both characters were at the same spot of trying to discover themselves as adults and what they wanted out of life while slowly falling for one another. I really enjoyed the last thirty percent of the book and could not stop reading until I finished. The third act breakup was necessary for the plot and character development, and I will actually say that was one of the reasons I loved this story. I normally hate the miscommunication third act breakup. Parker gets to fulfill herself without a man, and without love defining her entire being. It is nice to see a romance where a woman prioritizes herself while letting love happen naturally and if it is meant to be. There was a quick minute where my heart both fell and was slightly full thinking there would be no happily ever after. As sometimes in life, we really do have to make those sacrifices, but they also help us grow and learn.
This book does get the happily ever after but in such a small part of the story, meaning that Parker is still not completely defined by it. It was a great little twist to your typical romance endings and felt realistic and heart-warming.

ARC Review - Trinity Point by Tyra Lynn - Contemporary Romance

Summary:

Parker Neeley, a young woman who finds her life completely turned upside down after her fiance breaks up with her and leaves for another woman. After quitting her job and moving out of their apartment an opportunity arises to house/cat sit in a small beachside town named Trinity Point. Dedicating the summer to adventure and new opportunities Parker takes risks with not only her future career but also her new next-door neighbour, Ben Cooper.

My Review:

I really enjoyed Parker & Ben, their interactions always felt genuine and their friendship bloomed really well. They were both flawed and very relatable. I do wish there was a little more exploration of the side characters.

The plot was very surprising, however the pacing was a little slow. It took a while for me to fully get into it but once it really started moving I became invested in seeing the outcome. The ending made my heart scream in the best way possible!

I didn’t love the writing style as it was very “Telling instead of “Showing. I think there were a lot of things being explained that could have easily been picked up in dialogue as well as some repetition of specific details that just didn’t seem very important. I found myself skimming some of the paragraphs.

However, I really loved the evolution of Parker & Ben from friends to lovers. Lots of heart flutters, a kiss that doesn’t mean anything, a jealous bar scene, confessions in the rain. The romance was wonderful and I think the ending was perfect for both of their characters. Not as much spice as I expected but it was good when it was there!

This book is perfect for those who are searching for self-discovery, growth, and love despite flaws. Great for readers who love stories that are very aware of their ‘Tropes and almost breaking the fourth wall.

Overall this was a great short read and a wonderful debut novel for Tyra Lynn! I am so grateful to have received an Advanced Copy in exchange for an honest review.

Tyra Lynn's "Trinity Point" is a charming romance novel that beautifully captures the essence of love and human connection. The author has crafted a story with characters so vivid and relatable that they leap off the pages, making it easy for readers to immerse themselves in the world of Trinity Point.

One of the undeniable strengths of this novel lies in its characters. Lynn has created a cast that is not only relatable but also deeply authentic. Each character is a unique individual with their own quirks, flaws, and strengths, making them feel like real people navigating the complexities of love and relationships. The emotional depth and complexity of the characters add a layer of richness to the story, drawing readers into their lives and making it easy to invest in their journeys.

The heartwarming moments and tender scenes in "Trinity Point" are abundant, and Lynn excels at conveying the raw, genuine emotions that accompany the ups and downs of love. The story is peppered with moments that tug at the heartstrings, creating an emotional resonance that lingers long after the last page is turned. The author's ability to infuse the narrative with genuine warmth is commendable and is undoubtedly one of the book's standout features.

However, while "Trinity Point" excels in character development and emotional depth, it falls short in terms of narrative structure. The pacing can be uneven at times, and the storyline lacks the seamless flow that is often expected in a romance novel. Some plot points feel a bit disjointed, making it challenging to follow the narrative with the ease and engagement that the characters deserve.

Despite this, Tyra Lynn's "Trinity Point" is a delightful read that successfully captures the essence of love and human connection. The memorable characters and heartfelt moments make it a worthwhile addition to any romance enthusiast's bookshelf, even if the narrative structure leaves a bit to be desired. Overall, it's a book filled with heart that will resonate with those who appreciate the beauty of love's journey.

Soon her "adventure" breaks into her backyard in the middle of the night in the form of Ben Cooper. At first, she sees him as another cocky jerk with poor little rich boy syndrome, but soon Parker realizes he's the perfect love interest and she wants to tell his story.

I loved the banter between the MCs, their friendship and also the supporting characters. The awkward, laid back & a little flawed character of the FMC made the book more relateable & enjoyable. It was overall a cute, short & sweet beachy read which I enjoyed very much & would highly recommend it to everyone!!

What to expect:

🌊 Trinity Point by Tyra Lynn 🌊

Key Tropes:
💜 Self Discovery
⭐️ Slow Burn
💜 Meet Cute
⭐️ Beach Romance
💜 Friends to Lovers

Characterization: Parker emanates butterfly transformation vibes as she works to discover herself after ending a three year relationship and career that left her feeling, well, nothing. Enter Ben Cooper, hot mysterious, bad-boy-esque neighbor who has been through and seen some things. Both of these characters make some dumb mistakes, and it’s fabulous. They are flawed, they are friendly, and above all, they are relatable. The side characters are a little less memorable, but given we are following Parker’s perpective and she’s an introvert, it makes totally sense.

Plot/Storyline: I loved the ending. I won’t say much beyond that, but it’s not what I was expecting and I LOVED THAT. Most romances have easy to see outcomes, but this one wasn’t quite what I was expecting, in the best possible way.

Writing Style: Part of the premise of the book is Parker writing a romance book, inside of a romance book. It’s tropey and meta-aware. It’s a feminine narrated Deadpool at times, and I ate it up. The hyper awareness of writing and crafting that Lynn has is at times comical, maybe even frustrating, but above all, genius. To quote Parker: “I loved these cheesy romances, but even though I know what will happen, I eat that shit up every time. I could read the same trope ten times over and still devour the book in a day (Ch. 4). Same, girl, same.

Spice: 🌶
Recommend: Yes!! Especially if you love romances. The conscious awareness of romance within romance was fabulous.

💕Special thank you to Tyra Lynn for including me as an ARC reviewer for this book in exchange for an honest review 💕
