They call her the Ice Queen.
Winter De Laurie. Cold by name and by nature.
She’s always been a spoiled little brat, daddy’s little princess, while I’m the guy from the wrong side of the tracks. She’s always made it clear that I’m beneath her.
It was hate from first sight.

But when she needs help, she can’t turn to anyone from her cushy, cashmere life.
She needs a man who isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty.
She comes to me.
I’ll help, for a price.
I’ve started to think that while I might hate the ice queen, I wouldn’t mind dirtying up her innocent princess persona.
Even royals can fall, and I plan to ruin this one completely.

Meet the Ice Gods, the Hockey players who never play by the rules and own Hade Harbor and everyone in it. Dark Delights is a standalone bully romance featuring a possessive hockey playing Ice God, and the smart, mouthy object of his obsession.

I'm not going to rate it or give a whole ass rant about this book, because remembering all the things that went down here would drain the little energy left in me. Asher (19) and Winter's (19) personalities were complicated, and unfortunately, I don't have it in me to pick my brain and understand every complexities they possess and why they did the things they did here.

All I can say is that the majority of this story frustrates the ever-loving sh*t out of me, and it's not a freaking good experience. Everything—nope, not everything, probably 90%—that happened here was insufferable, exasperating, and infuriating. I'm not kidding; I wish I was. I did hope to enjoy and love it, but disappointingly, that didn't happen. But I gotta admit that the last 10% made it somewhat bearable—barely, but still not enough to take away the frustration running through me.

As for the writing style, I liked it, and the story telling was good with me. It's not difficult to follow and very easy flowing. There were some typos, but I could look past them.

Also, I loved that the Hs in this series were not hoes, despite being student athletes who could probably have any girl with just one snap. Welp, I take that back, Marcus—the H of the next book is a hoe, and everyone knew his reputation. I just hope the h isn't a V-card holder. 😐 Anyway, I just loved that this series is safe, and I don't have to worry about OW and infidelity.

Anyhoo, despite my overall negative feelings, I hope this book finds the right readers who will appreciate it more than I did.

Book info:
- College romance
- Sports romance
- Bully romance
- Opposites attract
- Fake dating
- Dislike to love
- Daddy issues
- Abandonment issues
- Assault (Physical, attempted SA)
- Violence
- No cheating, OWD
- OMD (see notes)
- V FMC, Celibate MMC (a year)
- Separation (see notes)
- HEA (5 yrs later, married)

Notes:
- OMD. This OM and his father were family friends and wanted to arrange a marriage alliance with Winter. Her parents thought about it, but they are more concerned about what Winter wants. Anyway, the OM wants this deal to unify their family's wealth for some evil reasons, and he caused a lot of trouble in this book.
- Separation. With the OM causing havoc in the story, threatening Winter and all the people she cares about, she decided to end things between her and Asher to protect him. In her reality, they were separated for a few days, but that's not the case with him. Asher's not having any of her BS excuses, and he didn't buy her word at face value; he knew she was lying and hiding something from him. So he made a plan to get it out of her one way or another.

4 Mila can do obsessed rudeboy athlete + wrong side of the tracks + poor little rich girl.

“I’m no gentleman either… He stepped in and cupped my cheek. “If you offer me anything, I’ll take everything.

Yeah, Ash can get it. 🤭 I liked this, tho it didn’t quite measure up to Book 2. I wish Winter had come off a bit more cutting and jaded I always enjoyed the “Ice Queen’s mysteriously aloof, snarky character in the other books, but she was pretty soft in this, as was Serena. I also found it a bit frustrating that our h didn’t tell anyone about the villain villain-ing for so long. 😤 But “the brat and the bully definitely had chemistry, and I found Winter’s dynamic with her dad believable. Loved the sweetness of Asher’s mama with Winter, and Beck competing for favorite son already. 😆🫶 Really hoping Cole gets a book, because Mila’s version of an obsessed biker antihero needs to happen.🤞😈

“Pencil me in for every night, for as long as we both shall live…If anyone asks, he tucked a wet lock of hair behind my ear, “you’ve got plans. 😍 ‘Kay. 🖤

So, I won't lie, the first 50% of this book had me a wee bit irritated. I just wasn't connecting with the couple the way I have previously. That bummed me out a bit considering that I was very intrigued by Eve's brother, Asher after her book. I don't know what it was but I was struggling. Some of the things they did to each other had me rolling my eyes.

However, I took a minute and tried to see it from a different angle. I do like that they BOTH were going after each other. That helped to not make it feel to one sided and it is clear that Winter is enjoying herself in their game as well. So after I looked at it from that perspective, it made it easier to laugh at their antics and enjoy the show.

When Asher really started to see the position that Winter was in, it really kicked him into gear and it made it much easier to love him. He became possessive in the best way. I really saw the potential for them as a couple.

The last act was also a bit too much for me though, as Winter makes everything NEEDLESSLY difficult and I was okay with her resisting for a few pages but she just had me screaming at her by the end and she put more people than just herself in danger.

All in all, this is my least favorite in the series but I think many lovers of Mila Kane may not find it as frustrating as I did... I just maybe moving out of my Bully Romance phase.

3.5 stars (rounded to a 4)
4 on the spice scale

CW: possessive obsessive hero, knife play, questionable party games, stalking and kidnapping, Primal chase scenes, Dub con.

Enemies to Lovers
Dark College Romance
Fake Dating
Sport Romance

Same snippy childish behavior between the two main characters as in the first two books of the series, but this time their taunts and shenanigans felt less cruel and hurtful. Thumbs up on that. In fact, this was headed for a 4-star rating until my least favorite plot device ever—the old “I must hurt you to save you chestnut—reared its ugly head. And if Winter believed Trent would leave the people she loved alone if she caved to him, she’s even dumber than she was portrayed to be. “Promise me, she said to Trent, and he promised to leave Asher alone if she became his willing victim. As if a Trent promise held water. Snort. Why does Mila Kane make her heroines so darn stupid?

And why are the villains so one-dimensional and the evil plots so ridiculously silly? These are not comic books, so if an author can’t write a viable threat she should just stick to the twisted foibles of her characters.

I’ve dipped my toe in this pond enough. I’m skipping the 4th book because I know in advance it’ll be ditto.

ARC via Booksprout.

Another absolutely stellar sexy spicy obsessive book from Mila Kane. Asher Martino is officially my second favorite Mila Man.

Asher and Winter are both competitive, and bring out a side of each other they try to keep hidden. They keep having these significant moments that build up to an incident in the middle of their freshman year of college. That’s when they become truly entangled, battling it out in a way that just brings them closer and closer. Asher is the one who sticks around and digs in, and Winter doesn’t know what to do with that. She’s been isolated and alone for so long that even when she’s in danger and she knows she can trust him, she doesn’t know how.

I laughed out loud multiple times reading this. These two trying to mess with each other was repeatedly funny and it made their relationship so fun even with the bad things going on. Winter is also a true brat and Asher loves every second of it. Even in just regular conversation, not just spicy time.

This is dark romance. And more than just the romance gets dark. Check content warnings and be smart. Bad things happen to some of the characters and even though the bad guys always pay, it’s still painful.

Winter is so lovable in her loneliness and her sweetness. I felt protective of her as the reader because she works so hard to be invulnerable.

I swear, NO ONE writes delicious obsession like Mila Kane. Asher Martino is the obsessed knight ready to slay all the dragons, and you will want to let him.

winter: i don’t wanna be pretty anymore *cuts hair short*
asher: you’re so beautiful
winter: 😮😵😯🫢⁉️ *gasp* even with short hair!!?!?!

no fucking way!! the stereotypically attractive blonde bitch is somehow STILL attractive even after a ✨H䱫!!!!! wow, i really, really wish that i could say that the rest of this book didn’t read as insanely idiotic as this particular interaction did, but it did. it absolutely did.

where to begin with this 500 page atrocity. let’s go with how this was one of the most inane things i’ve ever read in my entire life. the mommy and daddy issues went OFF in this one, which is actually hilarious once you realize just how dramatically overblown those issues turned out to be later. asher, despite having incredibly warm and loving relationships with his twin sister and mother, is so caught up on finding the father he’s never met that it appeared to be his life’s mission to hunt this man down. i understand being curious, but bro was acting as if finding this guy would be the answer to all of his prayers. newsflash, it wasn’t. also, unlike cayden and beckett in the previous two books that had both experienced some intense personal trauma, asher was given no reason for being all dark and twisty inside. he was only kinky (barely) and obsessive (pathetic) just for the sake of fitting into this series, and i hated everything about that.

speaking of pathetic, that pretty much describes our fmc, winter, perfectly. she is the very epitome of the ‘woe is me type protagonist that i wholeheartedly despise. winter’s entire personality is about how her very wealthy parents don’t make time for her and so she’s perpetually lonely. she’s made herself into this perfect little doll that does everything she thinks her parents want in exchange for crumbs of attention. the funny part about this is that ALL of it is self-imposed. from her “ice queen persona, to her attempts at being the perfect filial daughter, all of it is due to winter never speaking up for herself or being honest with the people in her life who very clearly love and adore her. she is the picture of an over-privileged, blithe little idiot that feeds into her own problems and insecurities despite having every opportunity in the world to change things, and for that i will forever be a day one winter hater 🤩☝️

continuing on with winter, she’s also just an objectively really shitty friend. she went from claiming that selena was her one and only friend and BFF at the very start of the story, to saying that they were more like frenemies a whole 200 pages later. sure, maybe you can just chalk that up to the author being lazy and inconsistent with her writing, but we can’t quite use that same excuse for the part of the story where winter was more than willing to leave her SINGULAR friend in the company of someone she knew first hand to be violently aggressive and unrepentantly misogynistic. without warning her. until she was assaulted. repeatedly. it’s so crazy how winter literally said that she felt “guilty but relieved when she thought that the same guy that had both threatened sexual violence and committed physical harm to her on multiple occasions was now diverting his attentions onto her best friend. must’ve been a fluke in the writing bc winter’s just SUCH a good person that she would never think things like that, right? right?? 😒

anyway, all that’s to say, i fucking hated this book. i just barely finished it with the heat of my rage to drive me forward, and do i regret it? a little bit, yeah lol. everything from the writing, set up, plot, characters, climax and relationships were horribly done, and i am genuinely shocked that the same author that wrote the previous two books in this series also wrote this. neither were ever gonna be pulitzer prize winners or anything, but those relationships and conflicts turned out to be far better written and developed than whatever this fucking nonsense was.

oh, also the author should be jailed for having asher call winter YOUR MAJESTY in bed. fucking CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR MADAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Asher and Winter are my favourite couple in this series, when i knew that they were going to be the next couple i was so exited, and now that i have read their book i can say that this is ny favourite book.
I love the way that Winter is how she wants to be and doesn´t change and the way that Asher tries to tell himself that he doesn´t like Winter and that he isn´t obsessed for her.
They are the best together, i love them so much.
I can´t wait to read the next book.

I received an Arc copy in exchange of an honest review.

I really enjoyed this one. I don’t know why but I literally pictured Gigi Hadid as (Winter) and Zayn as (Asher) ❤️

Loved the story, I was always curious on Winter and how her personality would be, she seemed to be with the mean girl club so wasn’t sure how I’d like her. I LOVED her. 🤍 I loved how protective Asher was to everyone he cared for.

I forgot about this series until this one came out, I’ve read all of them and can’t wait for more. ❤️‍

This series is one that kind of snuck up on me. I find dark romance really hit and miss but so far everything I've read from this author has been a hit. I couldn't wait to see the story of Winter and Asher unfold. I have loved everything about their tension in the previous books and this just made me like them even more.

Winter has always been the ultimate ice queen and I honestly had this picture in my head that the banter between Winter and Asher was left over sexual tension from a previous encounter. And so, I started this book not expecting the animosity to be so strong. Learning where it had come from and seeing it for what it really was had me loving both characters.

Asher was just coming back into his role as an ice god. But he was still his normal confident, self-assured self. Whereas Winters confidence was all a facade to cover her insecurity and fears.

Asher and Winter came together in a way that I wouldn't have expected. And the things I was expecting to be issues weren't. Which was lucky because there was so much that I wasn't expecting going on that I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to see what's next from this author.

Twisted Deeds by Mila Kane had me twisted up in knots throughout the book. So much so, I finished this book overnight. I would have read it all if I wasn't so tired.

Jeez... I don't know where to start with this book. Asher and Winter are dynamite together. So much spark and electricity running through both of these characters. Their chemistry was off the charts. I was enamored and obsessed.

Two people who are totally opposites on the outside and so much alike on the inside. Their competitiveness brings a lot of tension and angst that make it all the more fun to read. Their stubborness and will to not give up and surrender is all consuming.

This book has a bit of fun, adventure, heartache, thoughtfulness, aches, longing, heat and romance that make for an epic kind of romance story.

 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌
I enjoyed reading but sometimes it was kinda boring. This book has the same plot as the first two books and a lot of things were predictable. Asher acts exactly like Beckett and Cayden regarding Winter. I could instantly tell the moment he fell in love and when shit started to go down. This cuts out the thrilling part of the book and I skipped some pages because I was bored. In my opinion this book is far too long and dragged the story unnecessary. For my conditions I needed disproportionate long to finish this book.
Overall I liked Winter and Asher together. They‘re a hot couple and the back and forth was amusing. Winter is a worthy opponent for Asher and I liked her character. It was interesting that she is the one with money and he is the poor boy.
This story entertained me but like I said it felt like a blue print from the previous books. But don’t get me wrong: this is a very good bully romance and I love the writing style and character building.

 bully romance

Three for three! This series addicting. I can’t get enough of the characters and Mila’s writing. It’s fantastic. I wanted Asher’s story since book 1, and since book 1 Winter had intrigued me. She always came across as Selena’s cocky and sassy side kick. But there’s so much more to her. Her character really surprised me and I loved getting her story. I even found myself liking the mean girl from books 1 & 2, Selena. I honestly never thought I would and was actually hoping to see her get a dose of her own medicine in this book. Instead I’m walking away liking her and felt she redeemed herself for her behavior in the past books.
Asher was everything I was expecting and hoping he’d be. He was such a good guy and I loved how much he cared for his mom and sister. Being the man of the house for all his life, a lot fell on his shoulders and he did so much for Eve and his mom. I knew he was going to be one fantastic boyfriend and I was so right! I loved how him and Winter went back and forth with their pranks and games. Him cutting her panties and bras had me laughing. They had incredible chemistry together and the sex was off the charts hot! But I think the best thing was how accepting her parents were of Asher. Winter came from money and had everything handed to her, while he came from nothing and worked for what he had. They came from two different worlds but fit together greatly and having her parents be so on board and not try to break them up was really the best thing ever.
This series is definitely going on my favorites list and I’m so excited for Marcus’s next, but I’m also gonna be sad to see the series come to an end.

4.25 🌟 I loved this one the most out of three so far. Mainly because the mfc was only stupid for a couple of chapters in the middle. Some of the end was rushed, but the build in the beginning and middle was fun. No Nikolai, which was depressing. But it was nice seeing Bran make a cameo. I'm slightly annoyed. Selena was written off after trying to turn her character around. The time jump at the end also seemed a little much. It's better than what she did in Nikolai's duet, tho. There are a LOT of typos in this one. I love this group of friends. I look forward to more from them.

little trippy

Ok this one was a little different, so I like that Kane doesn’t make it a straight hockey romance. Enemies to lovers, fake relationship and of course there has to be a twist with the villain of the story. It broke my heart a little, and had some good spice.

The nickname majesty drove me nuts and some of the antics were immature but there was no denying the chemistry between these two and I sped through the book

FLOVED it!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: bully, opposites sides of the tracks
Angst: 😱😱1\2
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Loving this series by Mila Kane and Twisted Deeds is no exception. Never a better pairing than the bully and the ice queen, lol. Opposite sides of the tracks is always fun and these two have been antagonizing each other since high school. Their non-stop pranking each other had me cracking up. The storyline was great and the writing, emotional with tons of action all the way to the end. I can't wait for Marcus and Aria's story! I'm hoping we'll also hear more from the mysterious Irishman from New York!

Rating: 5/5 🌟
Spice: 3/5 🌶
Characters: Winter and Asher

This was such a wild ride!
First, I'm a bit obsessed with Asher. Second, I loved how strong Winter was. Third, the action was fantastic, and I loved the tiny mafia elements added in.

Winter was raised by parents that loved her and provided anything and everything for her that money could buy, but they were mostly absent. She learned at an early age that people are fake and will lie to get close to her or her family because of their status. She's kept herself closed off, cold, and built-up walls to keep everyone at a distance.
Asher is completely focused on hockey and making it to the pros. He's fiercely loyal and protective of the women in his life. He also has no idea who is father is, why he left, and struggles with it.
The two of them have been enemies for years despite running in the same friend circles.
When Winter learns about the possibility of her marrying the son of one of her father's friends, she approaches Asher to be her fake boyfriend. He refuses her which turns into a bit of a game between them - one where she is set on making everyone believe they are together despite him saying no. The pranks actually had me laughing several times.
Don't get me wrong, this is still on the darker side...but there were some very funny moments.

Eventually the two of them have to acknowledge that there is more between them. To me this felt more like a second chance romance. It was clear when they first met that the two of them had something there, but miscommunication led to them having years of anger and animosity between them. There are so many moments between them that had me smiling. The moment when Asher finally accepts that he's lost the game and acknowledges Winter as his girlfriend actually had me smiling and cheering. And he is so protective, sometimes to the possible detriment of his career and future. And this man has a deliciously filthy mouth on him. I could not get enough of those scenes between them. So good.
I won't spoil it, but the end is crazy. It's easy to see most of it coming, but there were definitely surprises. All I'll say is that Winter is so tough and I loved that she held her own. I'll also say that the ending was deeply satisfying for me, and I seriously want to read more about Bran.

I am absolutely loving this series and can't wait for the next one. Bring on Marcus!
