The latest version is over 1300 pages and 4 volume. S some of it sometimes feels like the officer through in a twist to make you think that it's still going again. You knew the ending before it ended actually about 300 pages before it edited. But they kept having step back after step back. After step back and the ending was good, it was a different twist that I don't think anybody really thought of although the open ending, everybody knew what it will enjoy the story.
The premise is fine and makes for nice space sci-fi but the writing is somewhat amateurish, almost high school level. I found the books enjoyable but was bugged by the writing style. The sentences seem jerky and somewhat unconnected as you read a paragraph or a page. The saving grace is, if you like space sci-fi, alien invasions, and all that goes with that type of story you will enjoy the series. In the library it would probably be filed in the Young Adult section as opposed to the Adult Fiction.
It kept my interest through all the different plots twists and turns I thought the characters were
Interesting particularly in the way they were brought together to form their units. The ending of Lusus was left unclear. Perhaps that was so you could bring back he and his evil counterpart Yota in some future novel.
