When you get time off for bad behavior, romance is the last thing on your mind--but good old-fashioned lust is a whole different story...
Life undercover isn't exactly one big party--not when you're a DEA agent--but it sure beats a desk job. Except when you screw up big and someone has to go in and clean up after you. In that case, even paper-pushing sounds better than babysitting an erotic romance writer with as many enemies as there are euphemisms for "throbbing manhood."
I've been taking down drug dealers for so long, playing bodyguard to a woman named Shoshanna Lehump sounds like nothing more than a giant pain in my ass-- and being partnered with the gorgeous egotistical jerk I never should have slept with in the first place just makes a bad situation even harder--especially when he pursues me as diligently as we're supposed to be chasing the bad guys...
What's a girl have to do to get a happy ending anyway?
Robyn writes because the people inside her head won’t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include shoes (the expensive kind), Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, and bejeweled reading glasses. A former professional actress, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count. Writing gives her a chance to have a job where working in her P.J.’s is acceptable. Wow...this book was a *blast*! Hilarious, sexy, witty, and fast-paced, this wild ride was my intro into the mind of Robyn Peterman. I really have to appreciate a book that makes me laugh so much but has tender moments, as well. This book is definitely zany, but unlike so many other humorous authors, Peterman's characters actually grow and evolve. They have introspective moments despite, or sometimes because of, the hilarious plot and manage to make it to their HEA's. Luke and Candace have sizzling chemistry and the side characters are a riot. I was so wrapped up in the love story of the two leads, I totally did not see the twist at the end coming! The epilogue was a bit of information dump for me, but that was because I haven't read books 1&2 yet...something I will rectify immediately! I highlighted so many hilarious parts of this book, but won't share them yet since Cop A Feel has yet to be released. Pre-order, people...this book rocks!!!!
Before I begin my review, I have decided to profess my love for Robyn Peterman. Now, I am happily married to the man of my dreams, but this woman is my literary soul mate! I have not laughed this hard since my college days of too much drinking and not remembering how we made it back across the US/Mexico border! When my husband and I renew our vows in a few years - I am going to contract her to write our vows! The vows exchanged in this book were PRICELESS.
Cop A Feel is the end of the Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters series. I will admit, I was upset to hear this. 'How Hard Can It Be' was my first Robyn experience, and I will admit - I saw Jesus! :) When I ventured on to 'Size Matters,' I laughed out loud the entire time, and thought about finding Big Foot myself! Cop A Feel tied the entire story up with a neat bow. No... scratch that! Tied it up to the bed with handcuffs? (Metal or Fuzzy? You will have to attend Shoshanna's panel on that topic to find out what her son prefers!)
This final installment is about Mitch's sister, Candace. We all met Candy in the last book when her brother Mitch fell in LURVE! Candy's no nonsense, rough and tough demeanor makes me giggle - because it does anything but match her name. Candy has been having no-strings attached sex with a man for the last year, and she couldn't even tell you his name. (He couldn't tell you hers either - or could he?)
Candy gets stuck on a babysitting job for her boss, Steve while she is recuperating from a cartel related wound. When this seemingly harmless task becomes more than expected - back-up is called in. An all too familiar voice enters the room and Candy is a GONER. Not-Dave is her partner? Oh no! This could be trouble!
These two undercover agents have never had a job make them more uncomfortable that this one. Leather chaps, rubber skirts, vibrators with your 'moms' picture on them and hardcore (undercover kinky!) religious protesters outside of the Marriott! I cannot give away the story, because that isn't my style! You get your HEA! That much I can say. In between, you will experience nothing normal. Every turn of the page will make you re-read the paragraph. Robyn, who writes because the people in her head won't stop until she has put them on paper, must laugh out loud ALL THE TIME if this is what is always going on in her head. Haha.
Luke is perfect. (Minus all his flaws!) I adore this man, and his need for Candy! (I WANT CANDY!!!) He is deep, and by the time I was done, if Candy wasn't willing - I would be! "Because you're you and you make me real. A civilian could never understand what I've done. Some of it, I had to do and some of it I wanted to do. You are perfectly imperfect - so beautiful and so damaged. I am so fucking drawn to you, I can't see straight. That's why." It was lines like that - I was just *swoon* - speechless!!!
You get to revisit with all your favorites from the last two books. Ok, ok... I will warn you - some you will need to visit in prison, BUT even they get their HEA. :) I adored getting to check in my my other two favorite couples. Candy making friends with Kristy and Rena made me smile. Mitch's protectiveness over his sister made my heart melt. When she was honest with her feelings about Luke, that was the icing on the MF'ing cupcake! "He wants me, Mitch. He wants me just like I am - with my scars on the outside and even the uglier ones on the inside. He's good with my Glock strapped to my thigh and my total fucking fear of commitment. He's made me think about things and want things I've never considered a possibility for myself... I think I need that."
There wasn't a character I didn't love - ok... Helen. But she was essential to the story. Shoshanna my my favorite! I think we need to petition Robyn to write Shoshanna's book - I would read it! And she is just so blunt with her choice of words, so loving with her actions and such a Viking! This last quote from the book is what I will leave you with. The chemistry between Shoshanna, Luke and Candy is perfection!
"Sweet Mother Mary in a miniskirt," Shoshanna exploded, never one to let being chastised get her down. "You're fucking Batman."
"Nope. I'm fucking Candy." "Oh my God," I hissed, and punched his arm. "Shut. Up." "Seriously," Shoshanna said with a laugh and leaned forward, yet again. "You're an orphan who's richer than shit and you fight crime! You're fucking Batman."
NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 1/2 REVIEW: Cop a Feel brings us back into the fun world of Handcuffs & Happily Ever Afters. We get a closer look at Mitch’s sister and what makes her tick. Candy is a hard nose DEA agent with a weee-bit of bad luck when it comes to her job. Oh she gets the job done, but at great peril to herself. When her final mission almost kills her, her boss takes action and puts her on body guard duty. Only problem this is not your normal body guard duty. And to make matters worse Candy’s ummmm, new partner will be tagging along.
Luke has been a out of touch for a very long time. The only thing that makes him feel grounded are his night with a certain pretty girl. But when that certain pretty girl tells him to go fly a kite and that they are done something in Luke snaps. A plan snaps into place to make a certain pretty girl his forever.
I truly loved Luke & Candy’s story. I just loved everything about these two and their adventure. And once again Ms. Peterman had me laughing, crying and begging for more. Robyn’s mind is a scary place to live with the crazy cast of characters that rule her brain. But I don’t think that I would have it any other way. I am truly amazed at the level that some of her characters go to. They are so very OUT there. :) But they are so much fun and that you will need some tissues for the tears and possible a set of depends to save you from laughing so hard.
I did hear a disturbing rumor that this may be the last Handcuffs & Happily Ever Afters book. I am hoping that this not true and Kensington will force, I mean ask Ms. Peterman to continue this series :-)
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley & Kensington in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.
Cop A Feel is a wacky, laugh-out-loud good time that will leave you doubled over with laughter. This was such an enjoyable, hilarious romantic comedy that I will no doubt be reading over and over again.
This is the third book in Robyn Peterman's Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters Series. I have loved this series since book one and can't seem to get enough of them! I hope Ms. Peterman will keep this series going for a LOOOONG time.
I found myself laughing hysterically at the antics of the characters. I think one of the BEST parts in the book, was when Shoshanna gives Luke and Candy a goodie bag. I laughed so hard I cried! I LOVED it! Luke and Candy, DEA agents, go on a little job as bodyguards to the famous author, Shoshanna Lehump and go with her to a book convention called SCREW-con. This trip turns out to be a blast with lots of laugh-out-loud moments, some slightly naughty moments, (*dreamy sigh*) and some downright good times. I absolutely LOVED the outfits both Luke and Candy were forced to where to fit in and not look like bodyguards. The outfits Luke wore had even me practically drooling. I also liked how Shoshanna took it upon herself to make Luke her adopted son! That character is just so fun and caring, I can't help but to like her. With all this being said, I couldn't give Cop A Fell anything less then a full FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! Its a truly good read. If you find yourself looking for a good book with lots of humor, romance, and fun characters, then I suggest you run over and check out Robyn Peterman's Handcuffs and Happily Ever After Series! You WILL NOT be disappointed.
This story has all the makings of another fantastic Robyn Peterman book and it does not disappoint!!! This is the third book in the Handcuffs & HEA series and features Candace who is Mitch’s sister from Size Matters. She is an undercover DEA agent who is good at her job, but because it is personal for her, she tends to act before she thinks which of course puts her life in danger. So now she is on “light-duty which really means she is now baby-sitting an author who has received a couple of death threats. Yup! Shoshanna is back!!! Well since you have obviously read the other books in this series (you have, right?) you have to have already come to the conclusion that NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS. The hilarity that ensues is so freakin funny I had to put my tablet down for fear of short-circuiting it with all of my tears and I had to keep cleaning it from snorting so much! I have to say that I found this book to be one of my favorites! OK, OK it is really hard to pick a fave out of all of Robyn’s books, but for some reason this one did. I don’t know if it was the fact that the couple “knew each other already, or because Shoshanna was back, or maybe because of Rena & Jack or Kristy & Mitch, or maybe those 2 little ass whopping old ladies, ya it is probably because of ALL OF IT! I love Robyn’s snark & quotes (Sweet Jesus in a thong! for example) and then you add in the LOL moments with the mystery, “whip in the sex and romance and it all blends together into the sweetest confectionary of a book. As with any Robyn Peterman book, you need to have a change of pants because I guarantee that you will pee yourself laughing!!!

Twerking, hot models and some romance all rolled into one! Cop A Feel was a hilarious and passionate book.
Candy and Luke's relationship was so hot it could bring the whole SCREW-CON on fire. The blurb of this book wasn't that good and I was a little bit hesitant to read this book but it turned out to be a real gem.
The side characters were funny as hell and I loved all of them. Shoshanna an erotic romance writer with her crazy antics and Mrs. C and Edith who makes aany situation seem hilarious.
Cop a Feel is surely a book to read!
Received digital edition from publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
Once again, Robyn Peterman has delivered with an outrageously funny story. My favorite characters from the previous books in the series returned, and had be laughing out loud from the very beginning of the book.
But what I loved the most about the book was that mixed in with the humor was the amazing story of Candy and Luke. The setting of the story led to so many hysterical scenes, and the attraction between the two of them almost lit the pages of the book on fire.
The commonality that runs through Robyn's books is the loyalty of the characters to the people that they care about. These crazy, over the top people that are so bizarre and funny, and they are so fiercely loyal, which is something that I find incredibly relatable. These are real people. They have real issues, real insecurities and emotions that make me want to jump in the pages of these books.
The mystery in the story was fast paced and brought in more brought everyone together in a wonderful way. In the end, I laughed so much that my stomach hurts, I cried, and I genuflect at the authors feet.
Another hit from the seriously warped mind of Robyn Peterman! All the wacky cast of characters are back with a few new ones added in. I can't wait to see what everyone gets mixed up with next time!
Perfect profanity, porno grannies and twerking all rolled into a insanely good package! The funniest book I've come across in a long time! I read this till 2am then placed my kindle outside my bedroom door as it was just so damn hard to put down. I spluttered my coffee all over myself, stumped my toe on the stairs as a result of this book's unputdownable ability. I was addicted from the get go! I highly recommended this book to everyone, I could not wait to review it and tell everyone just how bloody fabulous Robyn Peterman is at creating characters that are completely unforgettable, plots that are utterly satisfying and making you laugh so hard no noise leaves your body and your gasping for air!
The characters are complicated, delicious, hot and all kinds of perfect, Candy the leading lady is a badass ice queen, who is damaged by the death of her sister, to avenge her death, Candy becomes a DEA agent with a severe allergy to bullshit. Her leading man Luke is basically batman without the costume, he is gorgeous high ranking agent/assassin who finds his peace within candy. The ride is not easy for these damaged heros, but nothing worth having ever is.
The supporting characters are just as fascinating and outrageous, Shoshanna the sixty something erotic author and university professor is receiving death threats and she is, well, she is magic with the worlds best potty mouth.
'The Dykes' Mrs C and Edith are filthy in the best way possible, vietnam veterans and crazy good at all things terrifying. Both mad as a hatter they are vital to some of the best scenes and imagery in the book.
Along with some familiar friends and suspects these warm and hilarious characters will latch on to your heart, believe me I'm having withdrawal symptoms already.
Cop A Feel Is A Must Read & A Must Pre Order Right Now!
Cop A Feel by Robyn Peterman is the best laugh-out-loud book that I have read so far this year, without a doubt! It had comedy, drama and suspense and so many twists and laugh out loud moments that the book was non stop hilarity from start to finish! The characters were all brilliantly written and all stand outs in their own right. The journey of Candace with all of her baggage was both entertaining and hilarious. Lukes character was just a hot, sizzling persona that came with baggage and dialogue all his own. A cast of quirky characters - Candace, Luke, Steve, Kevin, Mitch, Kristy, Rena, Jack, Soshana and the awesome Mrs C and Edith will have you laughing so much with their antics and dialogue that you'll be wiping the many tears of laughter.
I have not read a book that had me laughing as much as this one did. I can't even pick a favourite quote from the book because there are just too many!
Absolutely hilarious! Many surprises and twists in the story make for an outstanding not to be missed read. 5 Exceptional Stars *ARC received from the Publisher for an honest review.
WOW, just WOW! This book was so funny that I started laughing while reading the acknowledgements. That's never happened before. While reading this book, I frequently laughed til I cried. This is a totally engaging romantic suspense/mystery but with lots of sexy romance and plenty of snark. The characters we love from the first two books in the series are in this book in all of their warped glory. Robyn Peterman has a unique way of making the profane seem normal and appropriate. This book is full of snark, colorful expletives, and sexual creativity. As Robyn herself puts it, "using f8?$ as a noun, verb, and adjective in a single sentence." If you are easily offended, then pass this one by, but if you like to laugh and want to read a book unlike any other, than buy this one immediately. This is one of the funniest books I've ever read.
She's done it again!! Robyn Peterman has managed make me cry with both laughter and true emotion in the course of one book! While this is definitely one of the funniest books she's written, what I love is that time is taken to truly develop the characters. To watch Candy go from loner to loved is a beautiful thing. Her story strikes a particular chord with me because of my own personal life story. I'm not sure if Robyn has had a similar story or not, but she manages to capture all of the emotions associated with a journey such as this. Witnessing Candy's growth gives me hope for myself and my own HEA. To be able to connect with characters on this level says a lot about an author. The fact that she can do this and on the next page talk about twerking (and have it make sense!) is just further proof that Robyn Peterman is an author like no other. While I'm disappointed to know this is the last in this series, I'm excited to see what Robyn has up her sleeve for us next!
I feel like I've hit the lottery. After receiving a copy from Netgalley I needed to read the first books in the series which I've owned since their release. Yes, I'm a book addict with 2000 books and not enough time to read them. I enjoy many genres and Robyn just fills them all in her books. Each book is funny (crude-and-sexy-funny), full of sexual innuendos and sarcasm galore. Just like the other books this is a suspenseful romance with a definite emphasize on sexual banter and hot steamy sex scenes. You should read the series in order, although not really necessary it definitely explains the characters and their issues. You will fall in love with Shoshanna and all her craziness as we learn about Mitch's sister Candy and her just as damaged beau Luke. Shoshanna's life is threatened, craziness ensues and there's love in the air.
This a one of the funniest books I have read in a long time. It has many laugh out loud moments and over the top hilarity. It is a mystery with plenty of suspense and many twists and turns, but plenty of humor. I found it hard to put it down and read this late into the night, waking up my husband a few times, being unable to keep my laughter inside. There are many awesome, quirky characters in this book and they manage to get themselves in hilarious and wacky situations that only the mind of Robyn Peterman could invent. I greatly enjoyed this book and will keep it on my kindle for anytime I need great laughs. I received an ARC copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, but that did not influence my opinion of this book any.
Really enjoyed this last book in the series, I felt it rounded it off nicely. The characters are engaging, and there were several scenes where the heroine dealt out some harsh justice to an attacker and threatened the hero - and it turned the hero on, which made me laugh! To understand, you'd have to know that both are DEA agents and have seen a lot of violence. I also love the fact that the characters knew each other - in a way - for a year prior to the time the story takes place. Also great was seeing characters from the previous two books and meshing them in nicely. So sad to see the end of a great series!
So proud of Robyn Peterman Zahn! Her crazy humor is infecting tons of readers. These books are not for the faint of heart or the prudish. They are hilarious and I always say, "Did she really write that?". I love the twists and turns in her stories. She has been cranking them out. Robyn has always been driven, but I think she has found an amazing way to reach an audience and make them laugh out load.
Will be reading, "Cop a Feel" on my way to Boston on Monday. Hopefully I will not snort Diet Coke through my nose!
I really needed this, I had been reading a bunch of very serious stories, and when this came available for reading I jumped right on it.. And while there was some very serious trouble that was going on Robyn made it hilarious. So many moments of me laughing out loud and snickering under my breath. I love the series and hope there are more to come. Shoshanna Lehump looks like she might have a new love interest and her book would be freaking hilarious.
I swear every one of Robyn Peterman's books takes me to the edge of pee my pants laughter. Besides learning that I need to do more pelvic floor exercises, I also learned more about my favorite characters from previous books in this series. I loved Luke and Candy and supporting characters often steal scenes in these books, that's not a bad thing. I give it an all around dirty, fun five stars.
this is my favorite Robyn book so far. I loved the Candy and Luke characters, aka Bruce and Donna (although when I say Donna I think of Donna the destroyer- Robyn's dog). aside from that, the story was exciting, hysterical, romantic and action packed. I loved how all the characters are like one big dysfunctional family. There is a happily ever after for everyone.
I love the opportunity to discover new authors(at least new to me) and this is another one to add to my list of authors to watch.
This is a wacky, sexy, fun-loving story of two people, Luke and Candy, who have, let's say, "known" each other for a year without asking what each other's names are.
This book reminds me of the Stephanie Plum character of old, with hilarious side characters and hot sex added into it. Bravo!
This book was amazing!! Robyn Peterman is a awesome author and will make you laugh until you pee in your pants. This book was my favorite so far in the Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters Series. Candy and Luke are super hot and Shoshanna, Edith and Mrs. C are back in this insanely hilarious story! Can't wait for the next book in this amazing series!!
This is one over the top totally hilarious fun time read. I hadn’t read anything by Robyn Peterman prior to this but will be rectifying that ASAP. This book had me rolling. Quirky characters, incredible pacing, and a rollicking good time made this a keeper for me. This is the third in the series but can be read stand alone. Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley for an honest review.
"Cop a Feel" is the third book in Robyn Peterman's series "Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters". It follows the story of Candy, Mitch's younger sister who was introduced in the previous novel, "Size Matters." Overall, the story is fun and sexy. It kept me laughing and wanting more. Bravo! Like always, I can't wait to read the next one. :D
This was such a hilarious storey. I found myself laughing out loud unexpectantly all the time. What a great stroy and wonderful characters. The first chapter definitly sets the tone for the story. I only expect great things from Robyn Peterman and can't wait to read more in this series and other stories in the future.
OMG I love this book! Robyn Peterman is one of the best authors I have ever come across. In my head she is Shoshanna LeHump and that makes me overly happy. She is able to make me laugh and cry all on the same page. Cop a Feel was a great novel and I hope there is more in the series featuring Shoshanna and the Old lesbian sisters.
This book is SASSSSSYY!! The heroine and her hero are HOT HOT HOT.. Another 5stars book again... Now I just have to stalk Ms. Robyn Peterman for her next books. LOL!!!
Robyn's books are always fun, zany and heartwarming. This one was no different. I look forward to side splitting laughter with a warm heart whenever I read one of her books.
