Ohhhh myyy, what fun, monkey! Warren has an ego on him that just doesn't stop. Obelisk bk3 drops us zactly where we need to be right at the spot where book 2 ends so we can continue the journey up the tower with his party. And although Warren is also wisecracking his way though the games, his own body, the cancer is chewing through him... Warren along with Ani finally gets back to the stasis chambers where the murder Beasts are housed. Personally I adore Beast Companions. So this part is like my bread and butter, as Warren and Ani use their animal husbandry skills tame and train the baby murder Beasts, starting with Cuddles!!!
The rest of the book is mostly just climbing the tower and getting stronger. With a side-trek for Warren in the hopes of beating his malady once and for all!!!
So grab the book and read for dear life to find out how this monkey's (Warren) tail shakes out...

And out of the myriad of humorous quotes here's one I saved:

"Trebec rubbed at his brow. "You’re going to get yourself killed." "Sounds like a Tuesday to me", Warren commented, and pressed on.

I'm still having fun with this series. Warren is growing on me again; his ability to go for it is a lot of fun to read. There is a little romance in this one, but it's not a distraction and is appropriate for the story. One of the subplots resolves nicely in this book. Setting up for the big battle, but there is, as yet, no clear path to saving everyone; we'll see if that resolves in Book 4. All in all, it is a fun read, and I'm already well into the next book. Nice job!

Interesting continuation of the series. Lots of things happen, humans move up in the rankings, main character gets cured (don't look at me like I just spoiled the story, you knew it would happen at some point), and of course, many enemies are vanquished, with (of course) the last one being an epic fail on the behalf of the enemy. Great fun reading this one folks. If you liked any of the books in the series before this one, you are likely to enjoy this one.

purchased and read. Was fine i guess. The MC is more of an OP large game hunter than anything else at this point, which makes the smaller battles lackluster and boring. Im apathetic towards this series and probably wont be finishing it. DNF i suppose
