W.R. Bryan's "Rift Particle" is an awesome sci-fi book that takes you on a wild ride through space and time. The story follows the crew of the Stellar One, a spaceship with some seriously cool tech, as they explore the galaxy and face unexpected challenges.
One of the things that makes this book so awesome is the character of Ethan James, the Operations Officer. This guy is a total whiz engineer who's always coming up with innovative solutions to problems. He starts out kinda' shy, but he totally grows as a leader throughout the story.
Ethan's ingenuity is on full display when he designs and builds this mini-freighter called the Remora, which becomes super important for the crew's mission. He's also a key player in figuring out how to deal with this crazy energy field that's blocking their path.
And let's not forget about the a budding romance! Ethan and Amani, the ship's Science Officer, have this awesome connection that you can't help but root for. They're both super smart and passionate about exploring the unknown, and there's definitely a spark between them.
"Rift Particle" is a total page-turner that will keep you guessing until the very end. Bryan's world-building is amazing, and the plot is full of twists and turns.
He says he's got two more in the works and I for one, can't wait!
