Did I just read the best Bella Matthews book to date? You bet you bottom dollar I did! Hands down, Bella did a phenomenal job with this one. Maverick and Emmie's story is my favorite in the Bella-verse. Did this book make me giggle? You betcha! Did I kick my feet like a school girl? Yes, yes I did! Did Maverick make me blush with his dirty mouth? He sure did! And did this book put me in my feels? It did.
If you are going to read this book, please check your triggers. There are some topics that may really put you in your feels and make you emotional. I found myself reading through tears. Why you might ask. Because I felt so seen. Emmie, unfortunately is going through something that I have personally lived through and to read about someone who is young who is experiencing something I went through at a young age was refreshing to see. I sympathized with her. My heart broke for her. But what I loved the most, is her outlook on life. The way see decided to wake up every day and look at her situation through rose colored glasses. But then to see her privately break down, I wanted to hug her for myself. Because she is me. I've been there and I know what it feels like to feel so alone.
Now on the topic of Daddy Maverick. I have tasked Bella with the most impossible mission to top Ares Wilder for me. And up to this point she has not been able to do that. But I sit here with an internal moral dilemma because I think Bella has just achieved the impossible. Dare I say Maverick has taken the number 1 spot?!?! It feels so disrespectful to the man I have been so loyal and ride or die for. Maverick is so broody and grumpy. The way he is so fiercely protective over Rosie. And the way they he allows Emmie to be so vulnerable. Put a fork in me, I'm cooked. I have turned into a puddle. This man stole my heart.
And Bella gave us the cutest little 5 year I have ever read! Rosie was the cutest little thing ever! I love her and the way she has everyone in her life wrapped around her little finger. Ugh my heart!
INFINITE STARS! This one gets all the stars! That is all... that is all you need to know. And if you don't add this one to your TBR we can't be friends. Pure freakin perfection!

And this grumpy, growly tank of s football playing single dad made every. Single. One. Of my dreams come true.
The way I loved this man should be criminal. And Emmie. Emmie is a bright and shining light that should be protected at all costs. Basically they are perfect together.

4.25 Stars - Total feel-good, grumpy/sunshine perfection. You’ve got a broody, tatted-up football god single dad, and a sunshiney nanny who crashes into his life like a chaotic blessing. Their chemistry is chef’s kiss, the banter is snappy, and little Rosie? Absolutely adorable without being overdone.
It’s one of those books that makes you laugh, swoon, and clutch your chest a little—equal parts sweet and spicy, with just the right amount of heart. If you're into slow burns, emotional walls being broken down, and found-family vibes, you’ll love this. Quick, cozy, and full of charm book!

Teasing was one of Bella Matthews best books ever! It had me feeling all kinds of emotions and I loved it.
Maverick and Emmie's story is the perfect balance bewteen pure and hard hitting reality vs teasing blushes and spice.
I loved their story and their own unique journey that they had to take on together and reading this would change anyone's mind if they don't already believe in fate and soul mates.
(also love the whole Kroydon Hills "family" as a side character because the support and love from them is amazing and its great to check in on them as well)

All of Bella’s books, from the characters, to the storylines, have touched me. But none quite like this one. Maverick and Emmie’s story is heart-wrenchingly beautiful. The love and care that these two showed for one another, and of course, for Mav’s little girl, Rosie, was absolutely everything. This is so much more than your usual single dad x nanny romance. This is a story about learning how to love, trust, and live, despite feeling broken and fearful of it.
I must say, I have never connected with a character like I connected with Emmie. She spoke to so many of my own struggles, fears, and difficult experiences. I felt every word she said, every emotion she showed. She made me feel less alone. And she really brought attention to the beauty and joy of living, and embracing every moment that this life has to offer. Emmie’s perspective on life is so inspiring and I cannot express how much I love and adore her.
This book brought out every emotion there is to feel. It doesn’t shy away from pain and heaviness. But there’s also hope, happiness, love, laughter, and everything in between. I do not exaggerate when I say that this book was healing for me. And I can’t thank Bella enough for writing such an emotionally gripping book. While there are sensitive and difficult topics being addressed, Bella handled them so beautifully and with so much care.
Truly an amazing job done, Bella.

Emmie had new neighbors across the street and she had a huge surprise to find out who they were.
Maverick is a football player who has just moved across the street from Emmie, alongside his daughter, Briar Rose, his brother Ryker and one of his best friends, Jamie.
Haha! I loved the chemistry between Emmie and Maverick even from their first meet! It was also with his daughter too, which was suuuper cute! I can't say the same thing about Emmie and Maverick's first encounter because he acted like a mad, super protective man for his little girl. But, of course, they were forced by circumstances to spend a lot of time together, which was filled with sooo many cute, fun and full of tension scenes.
I liked how this book had a bit of everything, puting me through all kind of emotions, which I really haven't expected. I couldn't even contain my tears at some point, being super affected by everything Emmie was going through.
An amazing story, which has definitely impressed me a lot, loving everything about it! The characters were so lovable and the whole story was so easy to relate to, being all so genuine. And, in the end, I understood why this book was called 'Teasing'🤭. If I recommend this book? It's a straight forward YASS!!

Teasing is the 5th book in the Red Lips and White Lies series and features a new favorite hero, Maverick Beneventi. This series just continues to steal my heart, and Maverick was such a sexy, tattooed, grumpy, single dad hiding a soft heart.
Maverick meets Emmie when he moves in next door, and his adorable daughter is immediately drawn to this gorgeous neighbor. Maverick comes off like a broody jerk, but it is only because he is very protective of his daughter. He comes from a very famous family and is a pro football player for his family’s team. Emmie offers to help him with his daughter when he loses his babysitter, and Maverick quickly falls for her sunshine personality.
Emmie was going through hard times with her fractured family and dealing with her father, who was diagnosed with dementia. She was scared to fall for Maverick and his daughter when she had the possibility of suffering from the same thing as her father. She can’t help falling for Maverick and his daughter, though.
This was such a sweet, slow burn romance that also dealt with some emotional subject matter. Bella Matthews always brings more depth and emotion to her romances, and I loved this couple.
I continue to love all the side characters and the wonderful found family in this series. I am beyond excited to finally get to Maddox’s book next.

I fell in love with little Rosie a couple of books ago and I couldn’t wait to find out more about this special little girl and her grumpy, single father. This book did not disappoint. It was everything I hoped for and more! Most of all, I found it to be emotional, steamy, entertaining, and humorous.
These two don’t get off on the right foot, with Maverick being such an assuming grouch. It seems like everyone else, except Maverick, is smitten with Emmie because she’s a sweet person with a good heart. She is truly one of a kind with the way that she went above and beyond simply taking care of Rosie; She takes the time to look for ways to safely provide Rosie with things she’s never been able to experience before, such as ice cream. You cannot take Emmie’s kindness for weakness though because she knows how to put someone in their place, including Maverick.
Speaking of Maverick, he’s everything you’d expect from a grumpy, single dad- he’s protective, occasionally sticks his foot in his mouth, and Rosie has him wrapped around her little finger. He is a teddy bear when it comes to his daughter, and we eventually see his softer side when it comes to Emmie. But, he’s not always soft with Emmie–pun intended. This man was absolutely delicious in the bedroom and he could entice me to do just about anything, including being quiet.
I know I can’t be the only one who was entertained by Jamie and Ryker and the way they tested Maverick. I found both of them to be intriguing and I hope one day, Bella will grant us with their own books and HEAs. On the topic of entertainment, the recollection of Emmie’s unexpected visitors definitely got some giggles and chuckles out of me.
There were times where I swear this book spoke to my soul. I was in my feels over this book for days after I finished it and I can’t even begin to explain everything that I felt. I was unexpectedly able to connect with Emmie on a deep level. Life had not dealt her an easy hand and I couldn’t help but empathize with her.
Bella hits us with some shocking details/situations at the end. There was a part I saw coming and a part I did not see coming, but both of them added dramatics to the story. I’m glad there wasn’t too much of a conflict between Emmie and Maverick (no third act breakup), and that they were able to keep their promise to each other. Bella also grants us with a few answers to some mysteries, some more long-awaited than others.

Matthews has done it again - hooking me from the very first chapter and having me fall in love with her characters as they fall in love. I absolutely beyond adored Maverick and Emmie's story from the beginning - the grumpy/sunshine, "we shouldn't", hot neighbour next door tension was both tension-filled and so beautiful to read about when they finally gave in. Throw in Rosie and Butters and two annoying "roommates" on Maverick's end, and this ended up having some super sweet moments, some comedic genius, and the most heartfelt story at the end of it all.
The more we learned of Emmie, the more my heart hurt for her. The girl had been through so much, and you could tell with that very first interaction that Rosie would turn into something special for her. My heart absolutely broke when we learned the truth of everything with her family - I'm keeping my lips sealed on the truth, cause those would be EPIC spoilers - but seeing her and Maverick navigate life once the truth came out was just beautiful to see.
I loved (and totally understood) Maverick's hesitation. He not only has his daughter to protect from the limelight, but also her health - Matthew's portrayal of living with allergies was so well written, and I love the lengths that Mav (and the boys/families) would go to in keeping little Rosie safe. I also loved the representation with ASL in the book, and how it helped show that Emmie was the right person for Mav and Rosie.
Honestly, best part about this book for me was that little girl. She's the right amount of cheeky and sweet, and I love how she brought Maverick out of being the grumpy "Cujo" Emmie nicknames him to be, and helped Emmie bring some sunshine to their little family.
As always with books penned by Matthews, there's sweet and spicy, swoony and tear-filled moments of absolute happiness, and whilst there is angst, it's weaved seamlessly into the narrative whilst still giving an overall beautiful read.
I always love returning to Kroydon Hills, and I can't wait for the next book in this universe.

Gahhhh, the books in this series keep getting better and better. I feel like I've fallen for every hero a little more than the last. This one sure did not disappoint.
Moving to a new house brought more than Maverick could have ever imagined. His life was full with his little rose and football, but you've always got to let a little extra sunshine in now and then. Make room for the beauty of a rose.
An adorable puppy led the way into the neighbor's yard and soon after a bond between two roses was made. Nothing was going to get in the way. Ok, maybe only a hot, tattooed football player with the most mesmerizing blue eyes. Briar Rose could do no wrong in her daddy's eyes and befriending the gorgeous neighbor wasn't exactly in his playbook, but how could he tell her no.
Emmie and Mav's first meeting was not the best meet cute, but she understood and respected him for it. Little by little, she softened his grizzly bear heart. Especially when she offered to help him when his nanny took a leave right before the season.
I freaking adored Emmie! So much of her resonated deeply with myself. We all have fears and worries, but she never lived her life hindered by hers. Lived each day to the fullest. Even through heartbreak and pain. Even through the dark times, through the storms of life. She found peace in memories, in photos and in the stillness that is found in a rainstorm. She was so strong and resilient despite being so young but so hardened by life.
The chemistry between these two was undeniable. I swooned so much and giggled when I wasn't. I truly didn't want this story to end. Truthfully, the adorable Briar Rose almost stole the show from her Dad. She made the story truly come to life. Can't wait for the next (and last... sobbbbbb) book in this series. Gimme, gimme!

Sucker for a Beneventi since Bash and Sam and obviously Catlin’s book but MAVERICK holy mother of god what a man!!!! This man loves hard!!!
Seeing Lenny and Bash as grandparents shocked me but my god they were amazing before but they were even more amazing now! Bash as a doctor too!!
Emmie - omg Emmie - I knew something was up and I thought of two things and it was one of them but my god she was such an amazing FMC that loved with her whole heart and her friendship with Dillan was awesome as they both need that friendship (cannot wait for Dillan’s book)

Oh my goodness. Right from the beginning I fell in love with little Rosie and her pup butters as they both wandered next door to meet their new neighbor. Rosie was such a little spitfire & was intrigued by Emmie. From the beginning, the two of them had a special bond.
Maverick was grumpy and broody. The kind of guy Emmie was always attracted too.

This was such a pleasure to read. It was pretty low angst - just enough to give the “will they/won’t they� vibes, but the overall feel was a sweet and tender (still spicy) romance.
Mav was that growly grumpy and protective MMC that I always love. The way he doted on his daughter made him even hotter. “Cujo� was an appropriate nickname, but once his prickly bits softened to his woman. He became all in. Had to convince Em that he wasn’t going anywhere and extended his umbrella of “family� to her.
Em was a strong FMC. A little damaged but not broken. I LOVED the way she instantly fell for Maverick’s little girl. Their relationship was a highlight of the story.
Teasing is a medium burn and spicy standalone MF romance that ends in a HEA. It is part of the extensive Kroyden Hills world but can be read on its own.
Highly recommended!

3🌟; I really loved the idea of the this book but the execution just didn’t hit for me.
I couldn’t connect with the characters; they barely had a personality & there wasn’t anything that would make them memorable which is incredibly disappointing.
The plot was weak and lacked depth in the events that occurred; Emmie’s sister Vivi, the Accident, Kroydon Kronicles, Camden’s relationship with her & their dad were all a mystery until about 90%, which might have been the point but it was incredibly fluffy and then we were hit with a ton of information in the end.
It was very insta-love; at around 50%, the MCs were already in love but just hadn’t told each other. One second, Mav couldn’t trust her and the next, she was his and he was staking claim. Emmie had ‘walls� that no one has ever been able to break down but I didn’t read Maverick breaking down any of her walls�
It was a fine, fluffy read if you aren’t looking for anything more than that. BUT it could’ve been 50 or so more pages to have a lot more depth to the characters, plot or both.

Emmie first meets Maverick after they become neighbors, but Maverick isn't exactly the friendliest guy. Still, Emmie quickly adores his daughter, Rosie, and Rosie feels the same about her. So when Maverick finds himself in need of a nanny, Emmie steps in to help. As they spend more time together and Maverick watches how naturally Emmie connects with Rosie, feelings begin to grow between them. I loved following their journey and seeing how effortlessly Emmie fit into their lives. She gave them both something they didn’t even realize they were missing. The three of them are absolutely adorable together, making this such a heartwarming read. Definitely add this to your TBR!

It’s really hard for me to pick a favorite Bella book but honestly this one might be my number one. I couldn’t put it down. Mav and Emmie are perfect.
When Mav says, “I will love you every day for the rest of this life, and then, I’ll find you in the next and love you again.� UM OKAY SWOON.
Also, as a mom of a toddler with a severe peanut allergy, the way that was described was so real and relatable. I also have EpiPens all over my house.
10/10 loved this book.

Every time I read a Bella Matthew’s book I think I can’t possibly love it as much as the last and she proves me wrong. The dynamic between Maverick and Emmie was everything I needed and more. I couldn’t put it down. Their relationship goes from enemies to lovers to that all consuming type love. I’m gone for the broody single dad and his sweet Rosie. I will not so patiently be counting down the days until Breathtaking!

Ahhhhh! I adored this one so much. I fall more and more in love with this world and these characters with each book. This book was everything I'd expected and more because that ending? Holy... ready not ready for book 6. Also, I need Ryker's book. I love Ryker so much. Mav and Emmie were so cute and warm together. Their chemistry is fantastic. There are heavy topics in here so please read with caution. Thank you to valentine pr for this arc.

But because of his family and being a pro football player, he is very protective of his daughter. Maverick is broody towards Emmie when they meet, but she dishes the sass right back to him.
When Maverick finds himself in need of a nanny, Emmie volunteers. He’s worried about his daughter and her severe allergies, but Emmie immediately steps up and becomes Rosie’s new favorite person.
As they spend more time together, Maverick can’t help but fall for Emmie. He gets very possessive with all the “you’re mine� vibes. 🤭

Oh my gosh. Bella was not kidding when she said to grab the tissues for when reading this book. All of the emotions came out of me as I read it. I laughed , cried , all of it. Each book gets even better than the last. Maverick and Emmie (and Rosie) were amazing and lovable. All the characters were . The ending had me in a chokehold. Truly a phenomenal book and an easy 5� in my eyes
