Race Fever #2

Formula Chance

Rate this book
In the second book of New York Times Bestselling Author Sawyer Bennett’s Race Fever series, she turns up the heat when a familiar name looks to shake up the world of formula racing. Buckle up for this heart stopping, second chance ride in Formula Chance.

Nash Sinclair abandoned the world of formula racing after a deadly crash left him injured and on a long road to recovery, both physically and mentally. Even prior to the crash Nash was healing in another way, putting together the pieces of a broken heart. They say time heals all wounds and when Brienne Norcross, owner of the newly acquired Titans Racing team approaches him about a job, he decides it might just be time to reclaim the life he once loved.

Bexley Toliver just joined the Titans team as their chief race strategy engineer. As a woman working in a male-centric sport, Bex is no stranger to a man’s eyes on her. Whether it’s in silent awe, not-so-silent disgust, or somewhere in between, Bexley has earned her way. But there is one set of eyes that Bex hasn’t seen in years and when Nash Sinclair walks into the conference room for a team meeting, old memories are hard to ignore. As the heat between them becomes all-consuming, they are unable to resist the temptation to fall once again.

Bex and Nash’s history is…complicated. Young love that turned into the promise of forever crashed and burned long before the race that ended Nash’s career. Years apart dulled the pain of their failed union but some things aren’t meant to be forgotten, no matter how hard one tries. When the same issues that broke them apart re-emerge and spin them full-speed toward a barricade, Bex and Nash need to make a decision—hit the brakes and walk away or race forward to their happily ever after.

This follows Nash Sinclair and Bexley. For the past three years, after an accident in the F1 series, Nash has been racing in the OWC league. But an opportunity arises when he is approached by the Titan F1 team to fill a seat. At first, he is hesitant—but what does he have to lose? Especially now that he will be working alongside his ex-fiancée, an impressive strategy engineer.

This was a great, quick, and easy audiobook to listen to—especially as I’m heading to the Australian GP next week! Perfect timing for its release.

At the start, we got an enemies-to-lovers vibe between them, and you could feel the tension. I also enjoyed the flashbacks to the accident and how it affected Nash—they added depth and emotion that I loved.

Bexley is doing everything she can to prove herself in a male-dominated sport, and she finally gets the opportunity to do something she loves and is passionate about. Despite the challenges ahead, I loved her representation.

I’m glad these two found their way back to each other.

Sawyer Bennett at her best!

I’ve been reading and listening to Sawyer stories for a really long time and although they don’t always agree with me, there is never a time when I cannot recommend a story of hers no matter what rec someone is asking for. She’s brilliantly versatile in her writing that way and her word wizardry has won me over time and time again!

This Formula One series began with a bang and has continued to bang itself to one of my faves of 2025. The year is young, I know, but I have sense for these things. #trust

I love that Sawyer threw in multiple conflict plotlines into this romance journey. We have our MFC in a male oriented field conflict. We have our MCs in a workplace conflict. We have a history conflict between our MCs that isn’t just about getting a second chance, but growing from past mistakes. Their chemistry was fueled from all sides. From their attraction to animosity to respect to support to the sexy. It was everywhere and I loved it. This story truly made my heart happy!

I got to both listen and read Formula Chance and although I didn’t get to do it like I normally like, with a distinctive amount of time between both formats, I can tell you with great certainty that either format will give you the satisfaction you’re looking for if this kind of story is what you like. Every time I listen to Sean Masters narrate a story, I fall a little more in love with the man’s voice! His voice is absolutely perfect for any and all male voices AND he does an excellent job distinguishing his voice between different male characters. I can’t say he’s the best with female voices, but he did a really good job with Kit Swann. She is a powerhouse and together they brought this story to life for me in the best possible way!

Formula Chance by Sawyer Bennett is the second book in the Race Fever series and I loved it.
I'm a huge formula one fan and this series is ticking all the boxes for me.

Nash and Bexley have a history together and while they've not been together for years the love and chemistry between them was never the problem. Being young and both laying the ground work in their professions lead them down different paths, they allowed hurt feelings to come between them and their love.

description

Now they find themselves working together and all the feelings are back and stronger than ever.
I enjoyed watching them slowly reconnect, at first there was hurt from both of them, but as they spent more time together they realised how much they missed each other and how good they were together. Nash and Bexley are perfect partners, I loved how supportive Nash was and how he stood beside Bexley and encouraged her to stand tall and own her talent and brains.

I'm loving Race Fever series, each book has been a great read and I highly recommend them.

I received an advanced copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Bex has worked her entire life to be in the role she has. Being the first female to hold the role of chief race strategy engineer for an F1 team is revolutionary, and she'll do anything she can to keep it. Despite a misogynistic boss and drivers, she knows she can help them win. Right up until the moment her ex-fiancé is brought onto the team as the new primary driver, and everything goes sideways.

I've read a few F1 romances prior to this one, but none actually explained the sport to this degree. I feel like I learned SO much about F1 that I'm actually tempted to watch a race now. I especially loved the female narrators excitement and clarity as the character, because it truly helped feel her joy and understand what is so complex about the sport.

I did grapple with the dual narration as the male narrators voice was so beautifully deep and gruff, and the females was so light and soft, that they struggled to accurately read the other gender's parts. Her version of the male lead sounded awkward and nerdy. His version of the female lead (and some of the side characters with French and German accents) sounded overly breathy and odd. I swapped back to the book after a few chapters because it was genuinely throwing me off. That being said, the narrators themselves were great, and I think they'd do amazing in a duet style or single narration.

The book itself was more heavy on the sport aspect, with the romance supporting it, and I found that I really enjoyed it set up in this way. We still got to see them grow as people and sort out their issues, but the highlight of the book was truly the sport itself.

If you're looking for an F1 romance with some spice, and lots of details, grab this one! I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

We are back in the world of FI racing and I have to say that I was totally looking forward to this one because we are getting to meet the team that makes up Brienne Norcross’s (Pittsburg Titans) new acquisition and they did not disappoint in any way ~ though I could have used a little less on the irritation some situations brought me ~ but it was still a great read all around.

I adored Nash and Bexley. Both are good people who are fighting their own uphill battles in more ways than one, especially when they collide after a pretty intense break up. As for their break up ~ it takes two and neither were innocent in how things went down ~ and their reunion was icy at best, but I liked how they both pulled their heads out of their ass’s (with a tinsy bit of help from some pretty great people) and decided to look forward instead of the past. They had great chemistry and I loved watching as they reconnected in every way.

This was a great read. As I said in my review of Formula Fling, racing is not my sport, so I’m still a little lost, but I am learning a thing or two and it’s quite fascinating. As a fan of the Pittsburg Titan’s series, getting to spend a little time with Brienne was awesome and she was all kinds of boss lady goodness in this one. As for the new supporting cast of characters, I really liked Luca and both Bexley and Nash’s families were cool. I loved catching up with Lex and Posey and while I’m totally looking forward to Reid’s book…my toes are crossed that Carlos will get one, because he sooo deserves an HEA of his own.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ .5 almost perfect! really loved the story, but maybe a minor issue pulling it back or less emotional pull
🌶️🌶️: mild spice, around 2 to 4 scenes, still tame sex scenes with a slight touch of kink and still romance focused

after a tragic crash ended his formula racing career, nash sinclair is ready to return to the sport with titans racing, but he never expected to come face-to-face with bexley toliver, the woman who once held his heart. as a brilliant race strategist, bex has fought for her place in the industry, but nothing prepares her for working alongside nash again. old feelings resurface, and with them, the same challenges that tore them apart. now, they have to decide whether to let the past dictate their future or take a risk on love one more time.

i absolutely loved this book and it was truly one of the best f1 romances i’ve read. sawyer bennett nails the f1 world I trust her with my life now. the connection between nash and bexley was electric, and their journey was one i couldn’t put down because the emotional depth we got was perfection. i loved the dynamics and the way their romance was so seamlessly integrated with their careers. i loved seeing woman in power within the sport and how strong bex was. the way they healed was perfect.

the audiobook was fantastic! sean and kit are amazing together, and their performance really brought the story to life. they captured the emotions and chemistry perfectly, making this one of my favorite listens. can’t wait for more!

tropes: sports romance (f1), second chance, workplace romance

*DJ play Sucker by The Jonas Brothers* There is immediate tension between Nash and Bex, and it feels like we're following along the fuse of a powder keg that's about to blow. As the story progresses, cars ain't the only thing getting steamy.

Quick call-out: the interview between Bex and Amanda was one of my favorite parts. Discussing such a unique field and hoping to inspire other females to pursue this dream, even I was feeling driven! 🏁 p.s. to this-- a lot of the book focuses on this not widely talked about area and I'm. Here. For. It.

I've got no idea what Sawyers background or knowledge of motorsports looks like, but DAMN was this packed full of so much detail and I learned A LOT.

Now time for my postmortem:
*book hungover
*flabbergasted the story didn't go on forever♾️
*mad I read it so quickly

Peace y'all. This track kitten is out. 🏎 💨

I love how this story starts out with the powerhouse Brienne!

I like Nash. He went through something horrific, yet he was able to keep going and put his all into something that he loves and enjoys.

Nash was great, but my focus in this story was Bex. She is a woman in a man’s field and works hard to prove herself. Through her own team she faces many obstacles. I feel for her when she has to overcompensate for being a woman when her skill should already prove enough.
Something happens towards the end and I think her dad says something important.

I enjoyed the first book, but I enjoyed this one even more!

Okay, I liked this one. I enjoyed their chemistry and character development but I felt like their relationship really didn’t develop much. They went from hating each other to hooking up to deciding to get engaged…there wasn’t a lot that showed me why that all happened. Plus the epilogue where he bought her a FIVE CARAT RING??? When she said she wanted something small??? But also like 5 carats is just ridiculously large. Not gonna lie it kinda killed the vibes there.

I really enjoy this racing world and getting to know this cast of characters. I really love Nash and Bex's second chance they have been given. Bex is facing more pressure than she deserves and there are a lot of ups and downs there. I liked seeing Nash find his second chance not only with her, but racing at the top level too! Brienne was quite the force to be reckoned with in the racing world and I love it!

3.0 stars. Book 2 and it's a very light romance, this one with a second chance. The story moved as quickly as a lap around the track. More work place drama focused (female in a male dominated field) than romance. Guess that was to be expected since Nash/Bex were previously engaged. Book 3 sounds interesting. And how about that Carlos? Bet he'd be a spicy main character. 😉

Nash left formula racing after a traffic crash and had a long road of physical and mental recovery. Years later, he is approached by a team owner about racing again and decides it's time to join them. But he's also joining his ex fiancee, Bexley as she's the team's chief strategy engineer. The two can agree to put the past behind them, but will it stay there?

This is one of the better second chance books I've read and I loved being back in the world of the race fever series. I loved how there really wasn't any fighting or arguing between Bex and Nash and they were able to talk like adults. The past was still brought up, but not in any immature or hurtful ways. Bexley is fighting her way through a male dominated field and Nash is supportive and also fighting his issues from the past. Three two make a great couple both on and off their race team. I can't wait for book three!!

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF: You enjoy books with mature characters, second chances, and lots of character growth.

Well, a new romance trope to love has been unlocked for me Formula 1 Romance! This was my first book in the Sawyer Bennett world, and I have already added the rest to my TBR. I was lucky enough to receive an eARC and ALC of Formula Chance and greatly enjoyed both! Thank you so much to Sawyer Bennett and The Author Agency for the opportunity to read and review Formula Chance!

Formula Chance was a fun read/listen; full of past-paced action of the racing world, sizzling chemistry, emotional healing and growth, and all the while shedding light on the real-world challenges women face in the work force. Formula Chance follows Bexley Toliver as she becomes the head race strategy engineer in the male dominated world of F1 and Nash Sinclair as he reenters the F1 world after a deadly crash left him injured both mentally and physically. As these two face their struggles individually they are then thrown together on the same F1 team and forced to confront their complicated past which they never truly had closure from.

There were many parts of this book that made me so frustrated, but all of them were related to Bex having to fight and prove herself within the F1 world! I loved Sawyer’s portrayal of how women struggle for equal respect and treatment within the workforce. It was very well written and relatable. Bex is without a doubt a bada** FMC and I greatly enjoyed the strong women and girl power in this book!

I am not going to lie; at the beginning of the book, I was definitely NOT team Nash. I thought he was incredibly cold and harsh towards Bex, but as you kept reading you couldn’t help but open your heart to him. Nash’s character development was heart warming to read, and his love for Bex truly shined. There was no denying the connection between these two, and the love they shared that never faded.

Bexley's just landed the job of her dreams, but, as she's just found out, it comes with a...complication in the form of her ex-fiancé. So if she wants this job and what it will do for her career, she'll just have to deal with the way Nash STILL makes her feel. But those feelings might get in the way of her career because as we all know, racing is a male dominated industry, and any hint of a relationship will have certain men spewing misogynistic ideas, at the detriment to her and her job. So she has a choice - love or her career? She shouldn't have to choose but the boys' club is forcing her hand.

After the crash that had Nash leave FI, Nash never thought he'd go back. But when the head of Norcross Holdings and owner of Titans Racing approaches him with a chance to come back, he can't say no to her. He relishes getting back into formula racing, but with his ex-fiancée as his chief strategist, he's not so sure he wants it that badly. Or maybe he does, because he never stopped loving Bexley, even if that love is buried beneath the pain of their bitter parting.

As the F1 season is about to begin, my husband is ramping up for it by watching the Netflix docu series, and so it means so am I. I admit to not loving it like he does, but Nash and Bex have made me a big fan. I loved reading as they worked through their pain and resentment caused by their bitter breakup, to uncover the love that was still there. The racing aspect is pretty heavily detailed, and I honestly didn't mind, as it gave their second chance an interesting backdrop. That she's in a male dominated industry and fighting for respect, it made me respect her. And then there's Nash, if any MMC ever deserved a second chance, it's him. Not only did he work through his fear from the crash, he worked through the complicated emotions being around his ex brought. Though this is the first of this series that I've read, it's definitely not going to be the last. I love second chance romances, especially when the two characters are as lovable and deserving of that second chance as Bexley and Nash are.

Formula 1 Romance. Book 2 in a series but easily stands alone.

“You’re the only one who can make me lose control, Bex.

I’m obsessed with Formula 1 racing, so I am LOVING all these new Formula 1 romances! In fact, I’ve put together . Because Sawyer used to be an attorney, she’s smart enough to avoid trademark issues and rebranded the sport as Formula International (FI)—but don’t worry, she nailed all the racing details.

I loved , the first in this series of related standalones, especially because the FMC was a romance author, which made it extra special to me. I didn’t think Sawyer could top that, but she just might have with . I originally read this book as a beta reader and had nothing to change—it was perfect as-is. But listening to it months later felt like experiencing a whole new book, and somehow, it got even better.

Nash Sinclair left Formula 1 after a horrific crash left him scarred—both physically and mentally—and took the life of his teammate. He wasn’t sure he’d ever return to the sport, but when Brienne Norcross, owner of the newly formed Titans Racing, offers him a seat on her team, he can’t turn it down. What he didn’t know? The team’s chief strategy engineer is none other than his ex-fiancée who broke his heart, Bexley Toliver.

Bexley has made history as the first woman to hold this position in Formula racing, but some of the men on the team are determined to make her job hell. Nash might still have unresolved anger toward her, but one thing is certain—he respects her skill. And that chemistry? Still there. Still electric.

They were young when they split. They’ve both changed, but is the love still there? And if they find their way back to each other, how does that look for a woman in her position?
“Nash’s lips find their way to my ear, his voice a velvety whisper that sends shivers down my spine. ‘You taste like everything we’ve shared. The sweetness of victory, the saltiness of tears, the spice of lust, he murmurs before nuzzling under my jaw just so he can make his way back to my neck. I gasp at the sensation, my hips twisting beneath him.

My favorite part of these books is how much real racing strategy is included. As an F1 fan, I love that Sawyer gets technical enough for race fans while still making the sport accessible to new readers. I wouldn’t be surprised if this book turns more women into F1 fans!
“You’re worth every risk, every ounce of fear. And just like you do in your job, I had to weigh the odds. Risk versus reward, right?

Likes:

•I loved both main characters.
•I love Brienne Norcross—now I may have to start the Pittsburgh Titans Series.
•All of the accurate racing, engineering, and strategy.
•A realistic portrayal of what women go through in male-dominated fields.
•It stands alone perfectly—no need to read the first book.
•Meeting and guessing the next characters in the series.
•All of the exotic F1 locations.
•The Simulator scene (IYKYK).

Dislikes:

•I loved it all!

The Narration:
Kit Swann’s British accent for Bex was fantastic and really emphasized how international this sport is. The technical aspects stood out more in audio, but in a good way. The narration made an already great book even better.

The Down & Dirty:
I honestly didn’t think anything could top a romance author and an F1 driver, but because Formula Chance felt so realistic and emotionally layered, I think I loved it even more than Formula Fling. The perfect blend of racing, romance, and spice, this book delivers heart-pounding action on and off the track with a second-chance love story that’s just as intense as the race to the podium (see what I did there?). If you love high-speed action, emotional intensity, and sizzling chemistry, this is a must-read for F1 fans and romance lovers alike. Sawyer Bennett nails the technical details, the heat, and the emotional stakes, making this one of the best racing romances I’ve read.

Rating: 5 Stars, 3.5 Heat, 4.5 Narration

Disclosure: I beta read the book, got an ALC of the audio, and I now work as a PA for Sawyer. BUT, I SWEAR, that didn't affect my review. Since I had a say, if there was anything I didn't like, I would have told her, but I found NOTHING. I never accept compensation for reviews.

There aren’t as many F1 romances out there, compared with hockey or football. But those out there are at least quite good, if not absolutely amazing! “Formula Chance by Sawyer Bennett is one of the best. It can be easily read as a stand-alone, even if it’s book 2 in the series.

Nash Sinclair decides to return to Formula International, after a traumatic event left him scarred physically and mentally. Little did he expect to work together with his ex-fiancé Bexley Toliver, who is the newly appointed chief race strategy engineer. The two will have to leave the past behind, for the benefit of their professional careers, while fighting other battles of their own. Seeing the two navigate the sometimes-ruthless world of F1 and their feelings was a beautiful experience.

Nash is still haunted by nightmares from his accident. It has taken him long hours of therapy to accept that there was nothing he could do more to save the other driver involved. He still has the burns from that unfortunate event and still battles the anxiety. However, he wants to push through, he wants to be the best driver and prove to himself he can do it again.

Bexley is a woman in a men’s world. She’s smart, has the needed attitude and the evidence to back up her ideas and strategies. She is not willing to back down from a challenge, especially if the numbers are there to prove her point.

If he is guided by impulse, she applies math and statistics. But they find common ground in their path to success. When love collides with their professional objectives, each will have to put aside their pride.

The author has created a story around powerful women. Smart, successful and determined to make it into a men dominated world. Brienne Norcross, the owner of Titan Racing leads an empire, Bexley struggles to make her voice heard in front of the drivers and other engineers, an F1 female driver may have her debut. Sawyer Bennett is a true advocate for female strength and empowerment. I am new to the author, but I hope Brienne has her own book (most probably yes).

Besides the strong female characters, we see Nash coping with anxiety. He is not ashamed of admitting his fears and he did not shy away from seeking professional help. I liked how his trauma was not minimized and I liked how the character deals with the pain.

The story is full of details regarding F1, from the preparations before a race, to the discussions during and post-race. Her extensive knowledge and passion for the sport is visible throughout each chapter. To some readers, it may feel too researched. I am a fan and I never get tired of reading about F1. The romance is simple, with little complication. There is plenty of spice (and everything nice), but I think the technicalities of the sport take over in most instances.

The book made me think a lot about how women are perceived in several careers. From Politics, to Engineering or even Motor Sport, some of us ladies may feel out of place. I have not faced misogyny to the extent described in the book and I think (I hope) these are very few cases as serious as the one described in the book. I do believe however, that women are viewed mostly in strict relation with their look and certain appeal. There are few books that leave you thinking long after you’ve finished the final chapter and this is one of them.

I wholeheartedly recommend “Formula Chance by Sawyer Bennett, especially if you are an F1 fan. If this is not your kind of sport, the romance is great and there is also strong female representation. I am interested to read about the other couple mentioned in the book and I will definitely look forward for the next ones in the series.

Just a person note before I get into the review for this particular book. If you have not read Sawyer Bennett’s Pittsburg Titans series, please put it on your TBR. In the book , we are introduced to Brienne Norcross, the woman who takes over the hockey team her brother managed but after the hockey team’s airplane goes down and a majority of team dies in the crash, including her brother, she is forced to take over the team. Brienne Norcross is the pure definition of #badassbosslady and she proves that image even more so in this book.

Nash Sinclair is clawing his way back into his racing career after sustaining a catastrophic crash three years ago that cause him to be severely injured physically but also mentally traumatized by watching a fellow racer burn to death. The return was slow but he is back into the open wheel circuit and doing well. He captures the attention of Brienne Norcross who has recently taken over a Formula racing team and looking to replace the #1 driver. Nash is not sure he is ready to get back into the type of car that almost took his life but he will meet the team and make a final decision after the meeting.

Bexley Toliver (love her name!) has busted her butt to become one of the most sought after female engineers in Formula racing and has caught the eye of Brienne Norcross and crew. She has been newly hired to be the lead strategy engineer for the new team. Bexley is well aware that she has a lot to prove and so many obstacles to overcome in the male dominated industry, but she has never backed down from a challenge and she is not going to start now. That is when she finds out her ex-fiancé, Nash Sinclair, walks into the conference room looking to discuss his potential as the #1 driver. The tension and the angst that happens in their looks at each other was amazing.
Sawyer Bennett does an amazing job of bringing in some deep emotional trauma to her stories. We saw that in the Pittsburg Titans series, and we are seeing it with this series as well. The issues she tackles with how Nash processed the crash and losing a fellow driver along with how he treated his breakup with Bexley was so well written and very realistic.

The heat and spice that happens when Nash and Bex come together is soooooo yummy. Nash knows how to make Bex feel like she is the only woman in the world. And the way Nash shows up and continues to support Bex and her strategy decisions even though many members of the team don’t believe her is noteworthy. Sawyer does a great job of providing insight into how hard a woman has to prove herself in this misogynistic world. Bexley does not back down, and I love that about her character.

Bexley’s relationship with dad is another point in the story that is very sweet to read. Bexley values her father’s opinion and while he loves his daughter, he does not go easy on her when she reaches a crossroads in her employment with Brienne and the team. It is this part of the story that Brienne Norcross comes in strong and lays down the law with her team. Kicking butt and taking names!
The book does an excellent job setting us up for Book 3, the story of Reid the Australian and I cannot wait for it.

Enjoy reading - Peace ☮️ and Love ❤️ my friends!!

This is book 2 in Sawyer Bennett's new series about race car driving, and it reads or listens as a standalone.
Again the audiobook is narrated by the very talented Sean Masters and Kit Swann who once again shine telling this story with all the emotions and passion needed.
Their accents are amazing for each character they portray and they made the enjoyment of the story so much better.I loved listening to them.
Formula Chance is Nash and Bex's second chance romance. They were once engaged to be married but it all fell apart.Their love imploded and ended badly through the pressure of fame and work and it has been 3 years since they have seen eachother.
Nash is a race car driver.....
Then a tragic accident tore Nash apart and scarred him both mentally and physically,he gives up his love for formula racing.
Until he is given an offer he simply can't refuse and it is his chance to get back on the racing circuit, even though his confidence is shakey he takes the opportunity and rolls with it.
Bex also is approached by the same party and given an offer of a job she can't refuse as a racing strategy engineer on the same team as Nash.
They agree to put the past behind them but can they really?..When there is so many questions that need answering. Will they be able to work together without the past getting in the way?
One thing is for sure is their attraction to eachother is still very much alive and they simply cannot ignore it...Nash though is still guarded.
You can see they love eachother and I think it was a lovely story and Sawyer Bennett wrote their reconciliation perfectly, and the way they navigated slowly the new relationship forming between them.
With maturity they found that communication and talking things through was the key.
Apart from the romance aspect of this book, there was also the other story of discrimination in the work place...Bex is trying to be successful in what is regarded as a mans sport with a mans job,and there are certain drivers and members of the team that don't like that she is a woman in a man's job and they refuse to co-operate and listen to her instructions and strategies.Making her work life hell and she tries to deal with it by herself.
Nash is completely supportive of Bex and her talent and I loved that about him..They actually are supportive of eachother..Bex is there for Nash when he doubts his ability to drive again,
Bex is such a strong woman and hard worker but it is her self critism and lack of faith in herself that could be her downfall.
This is an emotional listen, for me any way as what Nash had been through and overcome touched me it was horrific.
I loved both Nash and Bex they are a perfect partnership personally and professionally and I really enjoyed listening to their second chance at love.
Fabulous story

We returned to the World of Formula International with a second chance romance for Nash Sinclair and Bexley Tolver.

Bexley Tolver has been offered the position of a lifetime as the lead strategist engineer on Titans Racing team. Not only the lead but the first woman to hold this position in the industry. The last person she expected to see was her former fiancée Nash Sinclair. Having not parted on the best of terms; Bexley can’t help but to wonder if the two of them will be able to work together. As she and Nash find their footing, Bexley soon realizes it’s not Nash she needs to worry about working with.

Nash Sinclair is returning to the world of Formula International after a horrific and deadly crash. He’s not just returning but returning at the request of Brienne Norcross. Aside from battling his demons from his accident and hoping he can live up to the expectations, he’s come face to face with the woman who walked away from.

I love a good second chance romance, and this storyline nice. I liked how the two came back together with very little angst (we all know I am not a fan of angst). I wasn’t the biggest fan of these characters though. I had a hard time connecting to them both, but especially Bex. I appreciated Nash’s honesty in expressing his feelings for her. Based on the way he was introduced; I expected a little more in terms of Nash’s accident. The concern he had about rejoining this specific race had me thinking he might have panic moment or something. It’s not a bad thing that there wasn’t more, I jus thought there would be. With appearances by Brienne Norcross, and Bex in her role, I loved the female empowerment component of this book. Racing is not something I’m very familiar with, so I struggled a bit with a lot of the jargon. This is only book two, so I figure the first few books in the series with be heavy on the descriptions. I’m learning though.

I opted to do the audio version for this book with narrators Sean Masterson and Kit Swann. I am familiar with both and like both. However, I wouldn’t rank this as a top performance for either of them. This might have had something to do with me not connecting with the characters. What did work in my favor for this format was the technical component of this book. I think it was easier for me to grasp those descriptions a little easier having listened to them as opposed to visually reading them.

As always, Sawyer introduce us to peripheral characters that pique your interest. The brief introduction of Reid Hemsworth and his brother Lance seem like they will be an interesting storyline, sibling rivalry and all. Of course, Carlos is the one I really want the scoop on.

FORMULA CHANCE is the second instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult RACE FEVER erotic, romance series focusing on Formula International (F1), a fictionalized version of motorsport racing. This is driver Nash Sinclair, and chief strategy engineer Bexley Toliver’s story line. FORMULA CHANCE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: For fans of Sawyer Bennett, there is a slight cross-over with the author’s Pittsburgh Titan’s series and team owner Brienne Norcross.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Nash and Bexley) FORMULA CHANCE follows the second chance relationship between former F1 driver Nash Sinclair, and chief strategy engineer Bexley Toliver. Three years earlier, Nash Sinclair and Bexley Toliver were engaged to be married but each of their careers went on a different trajectory, and Nash’s off course antics pushed Bexley out of his life but a racing accident nearly ended Nash’s career, and in the interim, Nash switched teams and cars, and was on the rise, once again. An offer from new team owner Brienne Norcross brought Nash back into the F1 family, and face to face with the woman who broke his heart. Bexley Toliver is Titans Racing’s new chief strategy engineer, and is about to face the reality of women in sports but discovering Titans Racing newest driver is the man she once loved places Brienne in the crosshairs of her misogynistic teammates, and betrayal may come at the cost of her job.

The world building focuses on a woman’s struggle to prove her worth in a male-dominated sport; the rekindling romance between Bexley and Nash, and Nash’s battle to move on from the demons of his past.

The relationship between Bexley and Nash is one of second chances but both are still hurt and in pain from perceived betrayal. Nash is determined to prove he is worthy of a second chance, but Bexley’s struggle as a woman in a male dominated sport is proving harder than she could have ever imagined. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters are energetic and dynamic, yet some are questionable and contemptable. We are introduced to several members of the Titans Racing Team, as well as the return of team owner Brienne Norcross.

FORMULA CHANCE is a story of power and control, misogyny and discrimination, family and relationships, forgiveness and love. The premise is dramatic and edgy; the romance is fated and spicy; the characters are determined and charismatic.

Second chance, high octane romance

Review for ebook and audio

FORMULA CHANCE is the second book in Sawyer Bennett's Race Fever series based around the Formula International racing circuit. It is a second chance, high octane sports romance in which the chemistry sizzles, the banter is witty, and the racing details are incredible. Sawyer delivers a captivating story about relationships (personal and professional) and a woman's battle to maintain her position in a man's world.

Bexley Toliver has always loved the racing world. Her dream was to be involved in a racing team as a strategic engineer. When Brienne Norcross, owner of Titans Racing, offers her a position on her team she jumps at the chance. Nash Sinclair left FI racing after a horrific accident left him physically and emotionally scarred. After several years he has returned, getting ready to drive for Titans Racing, after Brienne Norcross made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Nash is finally back where he belongs and looking forward to the upcoming season, until Bex walks through the door.

FORMULA CHANCE is two stories within one book: first, there is the story of Bex and Nash's relationship, and second, the story of the battles Bex faces as she finds her place in a misogynistic man's world. Bex and Nash have a past and there is deep animosity between them, and now they find themselves on the same racing team. I loved that as they slowly restored their friendship, Nash gave her constant support and encouragement in her battles with some of her own team members.

FORMULA CHANCE was narrated by Kit Swann and Sean Masters. As usual their narration was terrific, a pleasure to listen to. They brought Bex and Nash to life perfectly through their emotional and passionate portrayals. They allowed the love between Bex and Nash to shine from the moment they initially came together. Kit and Sean really capture the depth of Bex and Nash's characters.

FORMULA CHANCE was a fabulous read. I loved that Sawyer wrote a story with two strong female characters, trailblazing in a world where men dominate. I enjoyed the romance; Nash was so sweet once the truth of the past had been revealed. Bex was so strong considering everything she went through. Then there was Brienne Norcross she was a force of nature, a real badass who had no intention of letting any man walk over her.

A highly recommended read.

I’m really digging the world-building that is going into this series. While I felt the first book did a lot of heavy lifting getting readers unfamiliar with Formula Racing, somehow this book seemed to do even more. Don’t let that scare you away. The author gives enough information to fascinate me with all that goes into racing without making things dull or confusing. Seriously, I do not watch any type of racing and I’m not wanting to watch a race. Bex’s job in this book is something I never even fathomed.

This is a second-chance romance; Bex and Nash were engaged in the past and she called off the engagement over three years ago. Shortly after their breakup, Nash had a terrible accident while racing and took himself away from FI racing after his recovery. He’s still racing but hasn’t gone back up to race with the “big dogs, so to speak. In steps Brienne Norcross, the heiress from the Pittsburgh Titans series, to offer Nash an opportunity. Little does he know his ex-fiance is working for the Titan’s racing team in a coveted position, the first female to do so.

As Nash and Bex realize they will have to learn to work together if they want to keep the opportunities that were given to them, they also feel they have to have a frank talk. There was never any discussion after the breakup and the air needs to be cleared. It’s obvious they loved each other deeply but were too immature for the relationship they were in with the place they were in life three years ago. They’ve both learned a lot and grown a lot. They quickly become each other’s biggest cheerleader, with good reason. Their positions were earned with hard work and dedication.

As much as I loved the romance between Bex and Nash, my favorite thing about this story is Bex’s struggle with being the only woman in a male-dominated field. The tightrope she has to walk to assert herself and get the men around her to listen to her is unreal…yet oh so real. For the most part, Bex handles it all like a champ, yet there are some missteps along the way that I, for one, couldn’t blame her for. She is still young and in an almost impossible situation. I love the support Nash gives and how, most of the time, he keeps himself in check knowing that his “sticking up for Bex will only undermine her authority.

I have fallen in love with the women and men in this series. Well, other than the sexist jerks. There are so many angles still to be played and I have a feeling it’s going to be a lot of fun.

**Audiobook Review**

I’m so excited to head back into the exciting racing world Sawyer Bennett has created. “Formula Chance is an exciting, steamy and action packed second chance romance that was a great addition to the series.

After an accident that claimed a fellow driver and left him with physical and emotional scars, Nash Sinclair left the world of Formula racing behind him. That is until Titans Racing and Brianne Norcross come knocking on his door and offer him a second chance. And part of his new team is his ex-fiance, Bexley Toliver. Bex has broken through the gender barrier to have the top spot as chief race strategy engineer. She works hard at her job and constantly has to prove herself in this man dominated sport. Nash and Bex didn’t end on good terms and this is the first time they will be around each other after what happened. But both have a lot to prove in their roles at Titan Racing but the connection and chemistry they had those years ago is still very much there.

I loved Bex and Nash’s story and the second chance they got with each other. Bex is smart, genuine and so good at her job. She’s passionate about racing and using stats to have the best race car out there. Her struggles of men being intimidated by her and trying to undermine her is all too familiar to any woman out there. But her drive is so admirable and I loved her so much. Nash is great guy and I admired him as he stepped back into the FI racing world after being in a tragic accitdent that took one of his fellow drivers and left him with painful scars. But his passionate personality allowed him to come back and get the second chance he deserved. Bex and Nash had an instant and passionate chemistry that was still there even after being apart. It was tense at first but once they were able to work through the fast, the chemistry was reignited. I loved the passion they had for each other. Sawyer did an amazing job writing all the race scenes with amazing details that made you feel like you were right there in the race and with the pit crew. The last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat and I loved the ending. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Sean Masters and Kit Swann were amazing as Nash and Bex. Sean’s narration was intense and genuine just like Nash. And Kit was so passionate as Bex, she brought her passionate and wonderful personality alive perfectly. These two were amazing together and I enjoyed listening to them bring this story to life.

Formula Chance by @sawyerbennett123
5 / 3🔥🌶 / 5🎙
Narrated by Kit Swann and Sean Masters

This was my first book by @sawyerbennett123. I am sad to acknowledge that because “Have I been living under a rock? Sawyer’s writing is mesmerizing. I love FI romance and Sawyer just captured me to the point of no return. I legit could not stop listening to Formula Chance and the second chance romance of Nash and Bex.

This story is a tribute to women empowerment. As a Woman in a male dominated industry myself, I can relate to the obstacles and bias that both Bex and Breinne are facing. It takes one bad a$$ woman to lead the way for others and both of them do just that in this story and Sawyer executes the struggles and triumphs magnificently.

Sawyer essentially blends second chance romance, past heartbreak and grappling fear in one page turning story. Nash is the kind of hero you can’t help but root for even when he is being a class A jerk. He is a complex man reclaiming his identity. Bex is a boss babe and totally owns the garage, she’s brilliant, driven and fights for her position. Even in moments of doubt she’s resilient and navigates the harsh reality of the industry in a way most women would cower.

The chemistry between Nash and Bex is off the charts, there is no denying that. The push-pull, heartache, longing and unresolved feelings make for a bloody brilliant emotional and sizzling read. We see Nash turn from being a jerk to being a swoony book boyfriend.

The writing is great but let's talk about the narration!!! I adore @seanmastersaudio as a narrator. And his deep voice as Nash was the perfect symphony. I am new to @kitswannvo but her accent is just perfect for Bex. The two of them bring this story to life flawlessly executing the vulnerability, strength and tension of the two characters throughout!

Formula chance is and adrenaline pumping emotional journey that I highly recommend for anyone who love FI racing or any type of motorsport romance. Add to your TBR today!

Thank you @sawyerbennett123 and @theauthor.agency for my ALC.

Amazing Story & Narration🎧 Riveting & Heartfelt!

Formula Chance
Race Fever, Book 1
By: Sawyer Bennett
Narrated by: Sean Masters, Kitt Swan

Sawyer Bennett blows me away with another amazing novel, a second chance sports romance novel set in her “Race Fever series, and she has outdone herself once again. This second book of the series is Nash Sinclair’s and Bexley “Bex Toliver’s story and we get some cameo appearances from Brienne Norcross, owner of the newly acquired Titans racing team. Brienne approaches Nash, a former F1 driver, with an offer to join her race team, after his devastating crash he did not think he would return to F1 racing again, but it has been two years of recovery and he thinks it is time, as does Brienne. Nash never expected to see Bex, his ex-fiancée, again, much less have to work alongside her since she is the team’s chief race strategy engineer. This could be disastrous, but they are different people now, more mature and can put the past behind them, except for those unresolved feelings for one another. Bex also faced challenges working in a man dominated world. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and a steamy romance. As with all of Sawyer Bennett’s books, the writing, plot and world building are incredible, as are the character growth and development. Thanks for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Sean Masters and Kitt Swan were amazing with bringing these characters to life, giving each a voice that was fitting, accents and all, and was believable in every role. Both delivered a perfect portrayal of each character, showcasing all aspects of their personality and demeanor perfectly, not only as the lead characters, but the side characters too. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are a perfect pairing, with voices and talent that complement each other and a performance that elevates the already amazing story to another level. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

I was excited to receive an ARC for this book because I love a sports romance, and this one was so unique because it revolved around the F1 racing world. I actually really enjoyed this book because it heavily focused on the racing world and had such a detailed plot that you could tell the author did a ton of research. Bex, recently hired as the chief race strategy engineer, was such a brilliant female main character. I loved seeing a strong and independent woman working in a male dominated field fighting for her career. It was so refreshing! She stood up to those that pushed back and knew how intelligent she was when it came to race strategy. I was cheering for her along the way and loved that an author represented a woman in this way!! Also the author did such a great job showing the dichotomy of men, those that couldn’t imagine her in this high position in a man’s world and then those that supported her! The formula racing plot was the main focus, which was then supported by the second chance romance between Bex and Nash. Bex and Nash had a volatile relationship when they were younger and it could not stand against the fame and their busy schedule. Nash, who is starring over after a horrific crash, reappears when he’s hired to race for Bex’s team she works for. I loved the growth between Nash and Bex. You could tell they grew up and matured. Not only that, they put aside their differences and forgave each other. And then their relationship took off again! I was so glad there was so no confusion for their feelings or a second act breakup. They realized their love for one another never went away and they matured enough over the last 3 years to understand that. I was also happy to see Nash finally understand how important work was for Bex (in the one scene with his parents), and how they supported one another. Overall, this was such an enjoyable read and it was so nice to find a book with a group of powerhouse women as main characters! I cannot wait to see how the series continues!
