Hi everyone, I am from a small town in Northern Ireland. I grew up on a farm which I loved as a child. Another love I had growing up was reading. I could and still can read a full book in a day! Writing books, telling the stories of the characters in my head take a little longer...
My first book series is called 'Blood and Flames'.
The First book from the series is 'Fire and Fangs'. It is a PNR/UF genre and is followed by Imperfect Harmony and Insidious Deceit.

Whenever I start a book by a new author, I feel a mixture of dread and anticipation. I'm happy to say this book defied all expectations, I'm an ecstatic bookworm. The book opens with Danni and Keri, both work for an agency that apprehends and kills supernatural deviants. They keep an eye on rogues who give in to their predatory urges.
Danni and Keri, both lost their families to tragic circumstances and this is the only thing they have in common. Danni is short temprered, tough, experienced and has a reputation for violence. Danni has a boyfriend Greg who gives her the illusion of normalcy. Keri is younger, more innocent but with excellent skills and instincts. She has issues with vampires due to her past but is hungry for field experience.
Nick, the mastermind of The Agency hands them the assignment of protecting the Master Vampire Damon. The feminist in me was happy to see two strong females protecting Damon against an unknown threat. Greg has a blonde, whiny, sister who promises to stir trouble and has Danni seeing red.
Damon was a womanizer, a strong strategist and a fair ruler. His photos are not on record and he earns the nickname, His Great Deadness. Lucas, the King of Shifters is Damon's ally and is known for being ruthless but fair. The male leads were Alpha males who complimented the female leads, I love it when couples are well matched.
One accompanies Damon as his bodyguard, the other as his mistress. The vampires are formal and insist on protocol, which annoys Danni to no end. Keri is in for a surprise, which delights Danni and annoys Keri.
Within 24 hours, there has been an attack, multiple suspects and a conspiracy theory is floating around. Damon is livid, Keri is tired and Danni wishes she could go back to killing people instead of obsessing over plots and schemes.
The book was full of unexpected delights, complex, well written characters, lots of twists and turns, fast paced action and a fascinating mystery.
There is a cliffhanger and I will be diving into the sequel once I post this.

I enjoyed Fire and Fangs, it was very well written for a first book. I enjoyed the story and how easily it flowed from one idea to another, you didn't get stuck like you sometimes do with these types of cop stories. I really enjoyed the gal team and how they played off each other, each had their own strengths. Danni and Keri are our main heroines, they're complete opposites in both thinking and acting. Danni is more fiery and loud, while Keri seems more mellow in comparison. Both are strong leading ladies. The leading men are pretty much alpha types, and pull it off well. There is some sexy in this book nothing too hardcore for a 19+crowd. I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes paranormal, romance, vampires, and sassy heroines willing to kick@ss.

It's hard to express the smiles, gasps and twinkling of the eye that occurred while I sat and read this epically fantastic debut novel.
The book follows the story of two women- Keri and Danni add told from their alternating points of view you are allowed insight on their kick ass lives. Their job is to take on missions from supernatural beings which range from protection to assassinations. Danni is a professional, unaware of her true origin and who sometimes has anger issues. Kelli her apprentice is a human, trained for 10 years and who has a comically sassy mouth. They are both assigned to act as bodygaurds to an ancient vampire, nest master- Damon.
You instinctively knew from the moment you began the book that it would take you on a nerve wracking roller coaster ride- the one they have in carnivals. It was gripping, interesting and you were curious for more.
A red haze of fury coloured my vision. I was stalking my mark, a creepy and clinically insane were- rat. Now don’t get me wrong, were-rats in general are fine; they scurry, they sniff, they scavenge and they are great scouts. But that’s only if they actually agree to help you. This were-rat had gone rogue. That is when the beast in a man swallows his humanity, leaving behind a hunched, crazy, slobbering psychopath hell bent on the pain and suffering of others as well as a full stomach
The descriptions were simple and most of the times humorous. Not only did this not hinder the flow of writing but it didn't slow the writing pace at all which is something lengthy boring descriptions manage to do.
Bobby and I had Kellan in a room that was almost like an interrogation room you know, like the ones you see on TV where the good cop and bad cop interrogate the suspect.
There was a constant quietness which lightened up moments thanks to Kerri. She could be seriously witty at times...
Finally Jason turned to me. “Agent Jenkins, you will be installed in Master Damon’s room’s and will attend all functions with him. The two of you will never be apart. Oh great, I get to be the corpses personal coffin warmer.
I wasn’t going to break the silence first. I’d done nothing wrong. “Keri, don’t huff. It doesn’t suit you, Damon reprimanded. Ha! He broke first. “I’m not huffing, Damon, I said sweetly and calmly. “I’m fuming. Damon sighed. Silence reigned again
The attraction between the characters were as steamy and sizzling as it could be without getting too PG 15+ You were immediately rooting for them despite the fact that a certain vamp*cough cough* was seriously annoying due to his arrogance and egoistic nature. Like stop being a prick!!
Why 4 stars? Well maybe it's because sometimes the characters were just plain annoying. Damon was a stuck up prick who believed in submission. Like Hey Mista! Aint no sensible woman gonna submit to you prick!
Danni.. UHh she made me roll my eyes a couple of times. Not only is she prejudiced (she believes all blondes are dumb *eye roll*) but she can be extremely and I mean extremely cranky. Sometimes she's an effin hot mess. She whines, gets angry and honestly, is so volatile It's scary. However, most of this happened in the first few chapters with Greg. When she gets all possessive, jealous and bitchy towards his sister. Yes his sister deserved it but Danni gets riled up so soon it's comical. After awhile she cools down, gets her head screwed on right and is only sassy/bad ass when criminals/ bad guys are around.
Hence, all's well that end's well.
Will I continue the series? Umm..

Title: Fire and Fangs Author: Josephine Mc Nabb Genre: Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy 18+ Length: 300 pages Synopsis - No one knows that they are living alongside the creatures that horror stories are made of... I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal). This is the author’s first novel and I was impressed at the storyline as most authors do not have much detail with the interaction of their characters. This author flushed out the main key players being that of two females from a government division to help protect a vampire from threat of life. Both Danni & Keri play different but pivotal roles in this story’s final end to the threat risk and potential completion of death to the nest master to be protected, Damon. This is not just about vampires and humans—shifters, supernatural’s, you name it as it is represented as a whole class of individuals for prejudism of supernatural’s vs. human (with human being the higher power according to government). Don’t get me wrong, the threat is taken seriously and does occur and consequences happen. A story about love, fear, being accepted for who you are and “not to blow any surprisesâ€ but the story was left wide open for me as a person that demands a sequel. I am giving the book 4 stars/ I like my story checked off in the romance area also. Neither of the partnership of Danni or Keri was satisfied in the end and they did meet their mate but do they know it???? I am looking forward to the next chapter in this series by Josephine McNabb. Copies of this review is posted on Amazon, Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, & my blog @ .
I was graciously given this book to read as an ARC for an honest review.
The beginning of the book was a little bit confusing until I was able to figure out all of the characters, and what their respective parts to the book was about. Once I figured out the 3 main characters, Damon, Keri and Danni I was good to go. The book was fast paced, told a really great story, and never lacked for amusement. I found myself chuckling quite a few times whenever Danni was going at it. She had such a large personality and the author was great in developing and building it up throughout the story. Keri, the human agent was a tough cookie too. She gave as good as she got; she never backed down from anyone whether they be human of supernational (sup). Damon was every fictional book boyfriend. He was the alpha vampire who set his sights on Keri and wasn't about to let go for anything. Enter Lucas, king of the shapeshifters who, after taking one look at Danni, he wants her like no other.
The storyline was was really good; it kept you guessing. It was fast paced which is what I like in any story. I want to the story to catch me right away and hold my interest in a way that makes me want to finish the book in one sitting. Again, the only difference for me with the beginning of this book, up until 6% was I had to remember who the main characters were and what their significance to the story they would be.
Overall, I really liked this book. I can't wait to find out what happens with Keri and Damon since it ended with a bang! Damon and Keri deserve their HEA.
I try to give all self published authors a break but I don't tend to expect a lot. Especially not with a first book.
I started reading Fire and Fangs and the first chapter intrigued me to read more.
The first few chapters introduced Danni and Keri, the two main characters. Danni wishes she was human and struggles to control what she calls. 'The Heat' which is the power she tries to hide from her boyfriend.
Keri is not long out of the training academy and is delighted to be chosen to go on this mission with Danni who is considered to be a seasoned fighter and one of the best.
However, Keri has some issues that make the job difficult for her. Danni is bad ass and if I'm honest, has anger management issues.
Around half way through the book I was hit with this twist in the story. One I didn't see coming and was interested in seeing how they would cope with it.
I got caught up in trying to figure out who it was that wanted Nest Master Damon dead and I was very surprised when it was revealed.
There were a few typo's that will need to be addressed but all in all I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had everything I was looking for... Well developed characters, romance, good pacing, action, devastation, a huge fight scene and a jaw drop moment at the end.
I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more from this new author!!!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the “Lovers of Paranormalâ€ Group on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.com
I thought this was a great story. I particularly enjoyed the fact that there are exceptionally strong female characters. Snarky, wise cracking, armed & dangerous females that don't back down!
Danni is exceptionally intelligent with nerves of steel. Keri, after the horrific loss of her family, has an extraordinarily hard time dealing with the fact that she has to protect a vampire. Not only protect him, but play along with his games as well.
This is an enjoyable, well written story that moves at a fast pace and was very hard to put down.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series. The ending of this one made me crazy!!

This book was a great read. The story is pure entertainment. The book keeps a good pace. The characters are well developed and very entertaining. There is romance, plenty of action, mystery, drama and intrigue, all ending in huge twist. This book has it all and is fantastic for a first book by this author. I enjoyed ‘Fire and Fangs immensely and I will be looking out for more of this author’s work.

I got this book and the second in the series together. When I start reading a book I go in with no expectations. This book was great! I loved the characters and how they interacted and developed. I loved how actions in the beginning started to change how things happened in the later parts between the sections. There where some grammar things that bugged me, but I looked past them. ((I can't complain when my own grammar is usually lacking)) I couldn't wait to start the second book as soon as I finished this one. That review is to follow.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review from LOP
This is an amazing start to the series! It has action, and romance and angst and all of the good stuff all rolled into one. I love how strong the 2 main characters are! I love that they are independent and show a strength that most women characters don't. I love that they love with passion. Your plot was spot on, was quick enough that it wasn't dragging on and was slow enough that it didn't feel rushed. A very very good read!
NOTE: I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
First, the story line is excellent. I love the concept and the mystery.
The beginning of the book was hard to read. It took some time to get used to the alternating chapters of first person views between Danni and Keri. I sometimes had to turn back the pages to remember which one I was reading.
I do not know if there was an editor involved but I would recommend the author get one prior to going much further in promoting the book. (I recommend using several beta readers, then an editor, then two proof readers prior to releasing a book.) There are inconsistencies throughout that I am able to overlook in favor of the story but I fear some people will not be able to overlook them. A couple of examples: Near the beginning there is a comment that the vamp, Damon, sleeps very little but later on Keri wakes up after sleeping 8 hours and knows that she has several hours before Damon wakes. There is another time where Damon walks confidently out of a room but two paragraphs later is addressing the people in that room.
I feel that Damon needs to be presented as more of a badass. He felt wussy to me especially by taking on two “human girls as guards. At one point he needed help fighting one vamp. It would have been awesome if he needed help because six was a bit too many at once.
In my copy of the book the formatting was off and the paragraphs dropped to the next line mid-sentence. It made the read rocky.
About halfway through the book the troubles I mention above smooth out (though not completely) and the story really picks up and gets very interesting.
I love Damon’s dedication to Keri. Lucas handling of Danni is AWESOME. She needs someone like him to help her grow up.
I would love to see Damon go “vamp on someone and to see Lucas and Jack shape-shift. The description would be fun to read. These are my favorite characters.
BOTTOM LINE? Am I interested in what happens in Book Two? Yes. Like I mentioned before, the story is good. With editing, proofreading and fine tuning, this story would be amazing.
I was intrigued with the summary so when the opportunity came up, I grabbed the chance to read and review it.
Fire and Fangs is told on a dual pov betwwen Danni and Keri. Both women are strong in their own ways at the same they too have their own flaws. Keri is human with a dark and sad past while Danni is something more which she doesn't even know about. Not much is revealed about Danni's past but there is something.
Both women were assigned to work together in order to protect a vampire master. I won't be saying more because it would practically spoil the story. This is an action packed filled with mysteries and steamy romances.
I pitied Danni's situation and I had a bad feeling about her boyfriend's sister but I didn't know how bad it would be. I also think her boyfriend is douche for being narrow minded about Danni. Although Keri was right that their relationship wouldn't last long because of Greg's sister as well. I really hate her and I wished that she will get what she deserves. But I'm confuse to know how their secrets were leaked out. That part wasn't explained well.
I hope Danni would find love with that person.
Then there's Keri. She's attracted to that person and she hates herself for it because of her past. Their relationship gets hot and cold because of her but it is understandable. I had a feeling about how the ending would go but I never expected it. I'm happy at the same time I know how she feels regarding her situation.
I can't wait to read the next one and I'm off to just do that. I wonder how both females relationship will be.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book through the read it and reap group on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ in exchange for an honest review.
The story follows Keri and Danni two agents of a secret government agency that deals with the supernatural, like taking down rogue vampires and so on. The two women are put together on a mission to protect a Nest Master by the name of Damon after several attempts on his life. Danni is an experienced agent who has done plenty of missions so she knows how to handle herself, she is also quite a fiery character who you grow to love. Keri is not long out of the training academy so this is her first real mission and together with Danni they are determined to find the culprit.
I loved this story it had plenty of action in it which made me not want to put it down, the reason i have given it 4 stars is because there were some mistakes which can be easily fixed with a proof read, but also because i think the author could have done a bit better with Damon as he was supposed to be a Nest Master but he seemed like a bit of a wimp for that role.
All in all great story with a few twists and turns in it to keep you reading, and i am really looking forward to reading the next one.
I was given this book by Lovers of Paranormal group for an honest review.
First time author, Josephine Mc Nabb hits it out of the ballpark with Fire and Fangs. Having two main characters using the first person point of view was troubling at first. This confusion could have been easily fixed by using third person perspective and alternating their pov's. However, I adjusted to this quirk and quickly got caught up in the plot. Ms. Mc Nabb has built a fascinating, complex, and highly evolved world where supernaturals have been outed and must now live openly amongst humans. Our two main characters, Danni - an unknown supernatural female and Keri - a human female, are partners in an organization committed to hunting down rogue vampires and shifters. The storyline moves quickly between these two females, their love lives, and the job they're given to protect the vampire leader, Damon. There's enough suspense, sex, and action to please almost every lover of paranormal fiction. I hate cliffhanging endings so for me to give out 5 stars shows this book has a lot going for it.
I do really like the main characters in this book. They are pretty well developed and rather likeable. The author has a nice way to showing their strength, weaknesses and their trouble. She finds a good way with showing their resolve, where possible. The plot is rather interesting and only towards the final conclusion does the author give you enough clues that you could figure out the who is who of it all. There are also some steamier scenes, but nothing too major, just enough to spice it up a little. Overall it has a great flow and I can easily see this one leading to future books.
My only real problem with is, it was riddle with grammatical errors and missed out words, especially towards the end of it. An extra couple of proof readings to correct these would have really helped this book and would have given it the 5 stars.
All in all a great read though.
I have received this book from the author for an honest review.
This is the first book in the Blood & Flames series by Josephine McNabb. Its about two government agents Danni & Keri working for a supernatural agency that gets an assignment to protect Damon the head of a vampire Nest. While Danni is some form of supernatural she doesn't know exactly which form she is. She has a human boyfriend that has no idea shes not human nor does he know all of the details of her job. Keri is a human whos family was murdered by a rogue vamp. Keri & Damon have an instant attraction the only problem is her hate & fear of vampires. There are weres, shifters, fae & other supernatural entities in this book. Including sexy Lucas king of shifters. I liked this book. It was well written and kept my attention. Another new author has been added to my list & I look forward to the next in this series & future titles by Josephine McNabb. I was given a free copy from the author for my honest review of this book as a member of the LoP group on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.
Danni and Keri make a kick-ass team. I loved how independently strong these two were and together, I loved them more. They made me smile and laugh a lot. I liked how Nest Master Damon became known as "His Great Deadness" between them. I quickly read through this first book and was so pleased I had book two waiting to be jumped right in to. Time away from Greg, Danni's human boyfriend, is not a good thing for her relationship with Blondie around. Blondie is his sister, and to say she and Danni don't get along would be the understatement of the year. There is a hot Shifter King named Lucas to consider, though. While posing as Damon's private security and fiance', Danni and Keri end up finding more trouble than they bargained for. A friend has invited Damon to their mating ceremony, but with recent attempts on his life, can he be there safely? It is up to Danni and Keri to make it so.
I really enjoyed . Danny and Keri were both smart, strong women. Both suffered tragic personal loses as children. They ended up working for a government agency that worked with the supernatural to hunt down monsters and rogues. Each has their own set of vulnerabilities when it comes to the men they love, but they never let them interfere with the job they were assigned.
At first, I had a little trouble with the way the story switched back and forth between Danni and Keri, because it was written in first person. Despite this, I thought the book was very well written. There was suspense, drama, and romance. I look forward to finding out what happens next in Book 2.
I was given this book to write an honest review by the goodreads group LOP lovers ofÌýparanormal. Fire and Fangs was a fab read! Im a lover if supernatural stories anyway but this book bites the bullet. Danni is so fiesty I just love her, she is such a kick ass character no one messes with her although there us one who has his eyes on her, she knows she shouldn't go there but really wants too. Then there is Keri the human, who us also a badass and is someone whom is torn throughout this book, you cant help what theÌýheart desires. The plot was well thought out although a little predictable this didn't take away my liking of the book. If you're a fan of the paranormal this book is for you.
I Recieved this book in exchange for an honest review
This was a well written book for a first book. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline. The two strong female characters were fantastic and were writen with imagination and a realistic depth. In the beginning i found the switch between character points of view was difficult but this settled as the story progressed. The sexual language used insome parts i found unnessaserry and was a little put off by this. The editing was poor in parts and this made the flow of reading difficult at times.
Overall i would purchase the next novel to find out where this author goes with the story and i would enjoy seeing the authors writting developing with experience.
***I received this book in exchange for an honest review from Lovers of Paranormal and the author.***
Awesome book. I love supernatural crime books and Danni and Keri were the perfect partners. Danni, so such a badass, I didn't think anyone could keep up with her, enter Lucas....HELLO LUCAS <3
Damon was a little more obvious but I love the sass that Keri gives him, and keeps him on his toes. A little predictable at times but it didn't take away from the overall excitement or experience! That ending was a fantastic segway into book 2...which I'm patiently waiting to receive from the author.
Very well done supernatural/romance/thriller. I very much enjoyed the chemistry between the characters. McNabb proves equally skilled in writing action, drama, and sex, and while this normally isn't my wheelhouse as far as reading material goes, I loved the story and thought that it ended much to soon. McNabb has created a rich world that she can continue to explore for many books to come. Can't wait to dive in to the sequel!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. What I truly loved is that I didn't feel neutral towards any character. I either hated them or loved them. I really preferred the Danni side of the story, but I'm a fan of Anita Blake, so I think that's why I tended to gravitate towards her.
The writing is excellent, the actions scenes are fantastic, and I'm anxious to read the what McNabb has in store for both Keri and Danni.
I got this book through Book Bub a while back. I enjoyed the book overall but the editing was simply horrible. I liked the characters of Danni and Keri. The super naturals and storyline were good and I look forward to the next book in their adventure.
Fire and Fangs by Josephine McNabb I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I must admit that the initial start of the book did not appeal to me at all. I was confused about the direction the book was heading and the character switch from Danni to Keri threw me off. Additionally, I am by no means a prude but I must admit that I was a little put off by the sexual nature of the characters. The best way for me to describe it is when you meet someone for the first time and they are very overt about sexual acts, it doesn't come off as sexy but rather vulgar. That was how I felt when Danni talked about her relationship with her boyfriend for three years. She treated the boyfriend like a piece of meat. He was to cook for her and pleasure her sexually and be at her beck and call. Again, I swear I am not a prude! It was just difficult to really fall for the character when this is the first impression that you get. Another negative was that there were a lot of grammatical errors that I noticed. I will admit that the further into the book you get, the better developed the characters became. They were not as offensively vulgar as they were in the beginning and I really started to see likable qualities in the characters. I loved Lucas's character although he wasn't a major focus until half way through the book. Due to the difficulty I had attaching to the characters in the beginning, I cannot give it a higher rating then 3 stars but I will state that I was happy I stuck with the book and finished it because it ended ended better than it started and it had a pretty decent cliffhanger that leaves me wanting to know what is going to happen with society's introduction to the supernatural world and also what is going to happen with Keri after she dipped out on Damon. Is is possible for her to turn into a rogue being a newly turned vamp with no training. Also, what does it mean that Damon cannot summon Keri because they are mated. Not sure if I missed something in the book about that or if it is something that will be further explained in the next book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Danni was left an orphan when her family was killed by rogue vampires so after being bought up and trained by Nick she was one of the best fighters in the sector. Keri also left orphaned when she was little when her family was also attacked by rogue vampires and trained by the academy. Danni and Keri have to put their pasts behind them when they get placed together on a special job of protecting one of the head vampires. Damon. His life is under threat and they have to find out just who is behind the threat and why? But Keri as already had a little sexual encounter with Damon before knowing what he was so this puts her in an uneasy situation. When the world finds out about the paranormal it makes their job of protecting Damon that much harder. Will they succeed to protect Damon and will they succeed in turning humans opinions about the paranormal? This book is one action packed read. With Shifters, Vampires, And a few other paranormal creatures as you can well imagine this book is full of excitement. But there is a little bit of Romance too. I loved the way the book was written alternating between Keri and Danni's POV's. Even though These women 2 characters were quite feisty they were also quite vulnerable in a way too. I loved them both equally. Damon and Lucas were both great characters too. Damon being a strong vampire character who was the head of his nest and Lucas being a Shifter, he was that typical Alpha male character. The mix of all these characters makes for a great read. It's packed full of twists and turns and once started you won't be able to put it down. I'm eager to read the next book now.
The author mailed me the ebook version in exchange for an honest review
3.5 stars
I quite enjoyed this book. At first I loved reading it, it was really fast-paced and I loved the characters, but then it got a bit repetitive and that was a big turn-off for me.
The storyline: Danni and Keri live in 2 worlds - a normal and a supernatural one. One day they are assigned a mission of protecting the vampire nest Master and both of them have their own issues with this task.
MCs:
Danni - I loved her. She is bad-ass, good at what she does and really professional. She is also funny, and I laughed out loud a lot when she said or did something.
Keri - a nice girl, but as she has a tragic past it is sometimes difficult for her to do the task. She seemed a bit immature to me, acting like a child in some situations as opposed to be an adult and face them face on.
Other characters: They were somewhat well-written, but some of them lacked the background needed to understand their behaviour and actions.
All in all, I enjoyed this book, it was funny, fast-paced, had a mystery in it (and I love mysteries), but in the end it got a bit predictable, so much so that I even guessed right who the villain was - and I rarely manage that :)
