Unwrapping Deviance

Rate this book
It's not what you think.

I didn't set out to fall obsessively in love with my fake stepdad ... or his twin brother. I wasn't looking to love anyone.

Daniel and Christian know I'm cursed. They know people I love die violently and still they won't let me go. They consume and devour my every breathing moment. I am so addicted to the dark and depraved things they do to me make me do I can't leave even if I want to.

But they're not perfect. Their past is a twisted, bloody mess. A horrific nightmare of betrayal, death and a town steeped so deep in evil, only fire can cleanse it. But that nightmare is what we have to face.

A whole weekend isolated with the two men I can't keep my hands off would have been a dream if the people of Jefferson weren't hell-bent on revenge.

They're about to find out that I have nothing to lose and I will kill anyone who touches what belongs to me. Daniel and Christian MacAllister are mine and nothing short of death will stop me from protecting them.

Only problem even I might not be strong enough to stop the evil chasing them. There's a good chance we may not make it out of this alive.

2.5 Stars. Story started off strong. Great set up but fell through in the middle. I wish we had more drama throughout the entire story. Too much focus was put into the intimate scenes. I found myself starting to skim the read because i got tired of reading about it. Story picked back up towards the end. It was pretty amazing.

Very spicy and dark! This is a very dark book and I wouldn't recommend it to someone who's very new to dark reads. I'd highly recommend checking our the TW list on author's website if you have triggers.
Wow, the spice in this book was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶/5. Incredibly hot with primal play, Daddy kink, mild dom/sub, "pretty little doll", orgasm denial.
Mira is incredibly strong and protective of her boys, I loved when she got violent to protect them.
Even with the heavy amount of spice, there was still a lot of story and plot. The "horror movie" scenes kept my heart pounding!
Overall I really enjoyed this book, and would love to read more from this author!

It’s wild to me that I loved this book so much despite it having some of the most commonly cringe vocabulary used for spicy scenes 😂 But likeeeee how did I still find this so hot?

Daniel and Christian were a perfect balance for once another.

Mira was so sweet and broken but then BAM a raging beast for her men.

The plot kept me justtttt intrigued enough that the spice wasn’t too overwhelming. Because there’s a lottttttt of spice.

Check trigger warnings, leave your morals behind, and dive in.

I have read many dark, twisted, taboo books but not quite 1 like this cause if you have a Daddy or Uncle kink then this may be your thing 🤣. Our AWESOME BADA$$ FMC MIRA is struggling with trauma of feeling like everyone she loves dies cause unfortunately she's lost several loved ones almost back to back in such a short time till the only important person left in her life is her STEPDAD Daniel although he married her mom cause they were good friends(Daniel & Mom) and she ended up with cancer and it was the only way he could add her to his insurance cause other than that she couldn't afford treatment but they were never intimate (just friends) & didn't love each other. However, almost 18 yr. old Mira becomes so attached to Daniel after her mom 😔 & notices her attraction to him but he tries be the gentleman she needs him to be & not fall & break at his attraction. Time comes that Daniel needs to go back to his horrible childhood home/hometown to take care of his terrible dad's house while at the same time having his twin brother Christian meet him & Mira there to help & things unravel from there. Mira, Daniel & Christian all become close as they struggle in the weird town the guys grew up in with their I was horror as the town is against the guys cause they believe in the lies & decit of a girl the guys use to know. As the trio spend more time closed in together THINGS TURN UP & GET HOTT & SPICY, Mira learns she can live out some of her dark romance read fantasies with these two. Things turn up super spicey when Daddy Daniel finally snaps & goes after his desire & takes Mira as his, all the while Uncle Christian does the same & they share her. 💥THERE IS NO SWORD CROSSING💥 but she likes to have her guys together. At one point Mira is kidnapped & face with unimaginable horror to where during her ordeal she learns she loves both her guys & need to tell them if she makes it out & not dwell on her trauma but to live in her here & now. IF YOU ENJOY DARK, KINKY, TABOO, WILD SPICY, HOTT READS THEN THIS IS FOR YOU. THIS WAS MY 1ST BOOK BY THIS AUTHOR & I'M SO HAPPY IT WAS AS IT WON'T BE MY LAST AS 💥I HAVE NOW DEEMED THIS MY FAVORITE BOOK OF 2024💥 THANKS TO MY HOTT SPICY BOOK MAN UNCLE CHRISTIAN 🤪🤣

Holy crap, this was so spicy, kinky, and hot!!! This was my first time reading an Airicka Phoenix book, and let me tell you I was NOT disappointed. If you’re looking for a forbidden, emotional rollercoaster of a romance, this one delivers in ways I didn’t see coming.

The story centers on two men twin brothers, Christian and Daniel and one young woman, Mira. The catch? They’re her stepfather and step-uncle, making the tension between the three an undeniable and deliciously taboo mix of desire and restraint. While the premise might raise eyebrows, it’s handled with a surprising amount of depth, particularly in how the brothers backstory shapes their intense bond and motivations.

Let’s clear one thing up right away: the brothers are NOT sexually attracted to each other. Instead, they share a trauma-bonded, ride-or-die relationship, forged through a hellish past. Their connection is unbreakable but doesn’t cross into anything uncomfortable. There’s NO sword-crossing here just two men who would go to the ends of the earth for the woman they love.

Mira is an absolute firecracker. She’s full of surprises, constantly challenging Christian and leaving him both speechless and curious. Christian thrives on pushing her limits and is captivated by the way she pushes back. On the other hand, Daniel is the sweet, protective counterbalance who’s quietly loved Mira from the start. Together, the three of them create a dynamic that’s as explosive as it is heartwarming. They’re all so different, yet they fit together perfectly.

What truly elevates this story, though, is how much fun it is. The number of times I laughed out loud is unreal. There’s plenty of humor to balance out the heat and drama. And make no mistake, the heat is off the charts. Both brothers are utterly obsessed with Mira, and she’s just as fiercely devoted to them. They’d burn the world for her, and she’d commit unspeakable crimes for them.

Airicka Phoenix has created something truly unique here: a steamy, taboo romance with characters who are complex, deeply connected, and unforgettable. If you’re into forbidden love stories with a lot of heart, spice, and a dash of dark humor, this book is a must-read.

Unwrapping Darkness and Desire
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
📚-📚

I found Unwrapping Deviance by Airicka Phoenix through a recommendation group on Facebook, and oh, what a recommendation it was! The first thing that caught my attention was the long “shopping list of triggers—seriously, do yourself a favor and read the TW list on the author’s site before diving in. This book delves into some seriously heavy and taboo topics. But for me, since my brain is fully immersed in a dark and depraved era right now, I felt like this book was calling my name.

This was my first book by Airicka Phoenix, and let me just say, it won’t be my last. From the very first chapter, I was hooked. This story surprised me at every twist and turn. Yes, it’s intensely smutty (and I mean intense), but beneath all the spice is a plot that kept me utterly captivated.

The story centers around Mira, an incredibly strong, protective woman, and the two MacAllister twins—Christian and Daniel—who just so happen to be her stepfather and step-uncle. The taboo tension between them? Off the charts! Add primal play into the mix, and this book quickly turned into one of the hottest reads I’ve picked up in a long time. That primal scene? Perfection.

What really elevated this book for me was Mira herself. I loved her fierce loyalty and how she would go full-on violent to protect her boys. She’s a woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to fight for it. The twins, Christian and Daniel, brought their own brand of chaos and darkness, making this forbidden romance all the more addictive.

Despite the high heat level, there’s a solid story and backstory woven throughout. The darkness of their pasts, the small-town evil surrounding them, and the way they all fight to survive added so much depth. And I have to mention how delighted I was that this story is set in Canada—such a rare and refreshing touch!

Overall, Unwrapping Deviance is an unforgettably dark and spicy ride. If you love romances that blend smut with heavy plotlines and don’t shy away from taboo themes, this book is for you. Airicka Phoenix, you’ve gained a new fan! Highly recommend this beautifully twisted tale to fellow spicy romance readers.

4.5 Stars

This book was a very spicy, taboo, dark romance. I didn’t know what I expected when I started reading, but wow, this was definitely one of the spicier books I’ve read. There isn’t blood relation between the men and the woman. The two men are brothers, and one twin is the girl’s stepfather. This story had more than just the spicy storyline. There was an intriguing story going on in the background that was able to keep me engaged between all of the spice. We get a story with characters growing through their trauma and a small town that produces more questions than answers. This book had me hooked and it was hard to put down. It is a book where it is perfect if you want a lot a spice or perfect if you want to get lost in a suspenseful story.

Daniel is Mira’s stepfather and since Mira’s mom died, they have been living together. They both feel a strong attraction to each other, but Daniel refuses to cross that line and act on what he’s feeling. When Daniel has to return to his childhood home because he and his brother were the sole beneficiaries of their father’s estate, Mira goes with him. They continue to fight their feelings until Christian, Daniel’s twin appears. He acts as the catalyst to the spicy relationship. It’s as if something in Christian gets Daniel to finally break through his final wall keeping him from his stepdaughter. And when the dam breaks, it really breaks. Daniel is the dominant daddy and lets Mira know that he won’t be sharing her with anyone except his brother. The two men don’t have a relationship with each other other than the fact that they are brothers, but they both have a strong desire for Mira.

This book is perfect for someone who is looking for a super spicy, taboo (but no blood relationship), dark romance, but also wants to get pulled in by a story that with so many questions hanging out there. The spicy scenes were spectacular and will leave you having to fan yourself. I loved the brothers and how Daniel did his best to hold back his feelings until Christian caused his resolve to crumble and it went from longing to complete 🥵.

This book is a masterful blend of taboo romance with deliciously kinky moments and nail-biting suspense. Mira’s life feels cursed—literally. It seems everyone she loves ends up dead. Living under the same roof as her stepfather after her mother died, she has slowly fallen for Daniel, but though he has feelings for her too, they have managed to resist their mutual attraction. That is, until Daniel is called back to his eerie hometown of Jefferson and Mira crosses paths with his twin brother, Christian. The sparks between Mira and the brothers aren’t just electric—they’re explosive. It’s as if meeting Christian flips a switch none of them knew existed. But something is off about Jefferson. There’s an oppressive, unsettling feeling, like something straight out of Pleasantville, where everyone’s too in sync, right down to their virtually identical clothes. Creepy, right? Oh, you have NO idea. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that the MacAllister brothers aren’t exactly welcome in their hometown, and we slowly uncover their tragic and twisted past. Yet, despite the tense atmosphere, the book lulls you into a false sense of security, with the relationship between Mira and the brothers heating up to an inferno of passion to the exclusion of almost everything else. And let me tell you, if you thought the idea of menage was hot, wait until you see the levels of spice these brothers unlock. While Daniel was dominant and liked to watch, Christian had a sadistic streak that liked to keep Mira on edge. Steamy doesn’t even begin to cover it. But then, in the midst of that passion, the story flips once again in the most horrifying and unexpected way, delivering a chilling twist that ultimately exposes the truth behind the devastating accusations haunting the Macallister brothers. The contrast between the sultry romance and gut-wrenching drama that follows is both shocking and brilliant. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a wickedly thrilling ride.

Unwrapping Deviance by Airicka Phoenix

The book starts with our FMC Mira, who has lost all her loved ones in a short amount of time, but her fake stepdad, Daniel. She believes she is cursed, that all people she loves will die, which scares her because she has fallen in love with Daniel. He is still adamant not to leave her. He struggles with his own feelings towards Mira. His own past is catching up with him when he needs to return to his childhood home after his father has passed away, to decide what to do with their old home. His twin brother Christian arrives also, and Mira feels an instant connection with him too and their attraction is mutual. The twins' past of abuse and hate from the whole town affects all of them as soon as they go to the town, and while they battle against their growing attraction to each other, they have to face the whole town’s hate.

FMC Mira, is written well with her inner turmoil about all the trauma she had to face in such a short time, as well as showing her growing from sad girl to young woman who knows what she wants and is ready to protect loved ones with all she has.

MMCS Daniel and Christian have so much depth in their characters that it makes the reader really feel and hope them to survive from their own trauma from their past and the complications their present lives show them.

The plot itself is well written without leaving any plot holes that would annoy you after you have finished the book. There are a lot of open door spicy moments between all our three main characters, but it doesn’t feel too much when the plot is actually so good and captivating. There is even an amazing plot twist that comes right behind the corner, surprising me so much that it gave more depth to the story.

This is a very spicy and taboo novel. Mira has been living with Daniel, who was married to her mother, who is now deceased. Mira slowly fell in lust/love with Daniel. Obviously, Daniel is older and more of a guardian for Mira.

Mira tempts Daniel but somehow he's been able to resist Mira. All of that might change when Daniel is called back to his hometown of Jefferson. Daniel and his twin brother, Christian were run out of town 17 years ago. This town doesn't forgive or forget.

Daniel is essentially daddy. Mira is the baby/brat. What is Christian, other than the bad boy? Oh wait, he's the uncle! 🤦‍♀ Christian is the force that's going to cause all 3 of them to finally act on their desires, together.

That first scene in the diner, spicy, hot, and embarrassing if you're Mira 🫗! The first time Christian called Daniel daddy, priceless but true! For as much as they hold off, the readers will be graphically surprised, because these brothers DO NOT shy away when it comes to shared intimacy! 🥵🫣🫶🫦👅🙌❤️‍🔥🙀🙊Not enough emoji's! Wow! I think literally nothing is off the table! This gives "don’t wake daddy" a whole new meaning! I liked what Mira ended up doing with her life because the answer was so obvious. It was what Mira was doing all along. I also liked that there was a happy ending without the curse. If you want a lot of spice, kink, and slightly taboo, this is it!

Epic quotes: "When you have my cock out, you will call me Daddy and nothing else, understand? “Always such a whore for your uncle and daddy’s cock, aren’t you?

Mira is shy of 18 when her mother dies from cancer. She is now staying with her step dad. Her mom married him but it was all platonic. Her mother explained how he's her best friend and needed his support through this time. She's at the therapist where Daniel convinced her to go. When the therapist comes out with "you have abandonment issues", she just gapes at her and walks out. Yes she does. But any wonder since all the important people in her life have died within months of each other. But one thing she has that she won't tell anyone is how she craves her fake step dad.
Daniel took on the task of taking care of his best friend's daughter. Now he is heading back to his home town of Jefferson on the shores of Lake Huron.
Christian is Daniel's brother. He was in Prague when he got the call that their dad was dead and they had to go back to settle things. He will meeting his brother and Mira at their old house. It's been three years the brothers saw each other. Daniel's worried that his brother will try to steal Mira away from him. When Mira meets Christian all she can think is where Daniel might be mafia like Christian is biker with lots of kills.
The three are now in Jefferson. A place that condemned the brothers with only the word of one woman. It's there that Mira discovers she'd be willing to take on a whole town to protect her boys. But are the two hers? What does the town have against them? Will the three survive a town that hates them?
A fascinating story that is dark and will grab the reader's attention to the last page.

OH MY GOD I had to change my underwear 3 times reading this book. This book was EVERYTHING. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The trigger menu was what drew me in and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I’m normally find the daddy/baby names a bit icky, but this was HOT. 💦💦💦💦It was really well written and just fit the situation perfectly.

Despite the trigger menu, I wouldn’t really call this a “dark book. There is definitely some dark and messed up sh*t happening, but not between the main characters. Let’s just say that most of the trigger menu is found during “intimate scenes and I’d love to know where I can sign up for it! Even the knife play, which isn’t something I’m normally into in books.

This book was everything I had hoped Credence was going to be. I read Credence based on all the reviews, but it just didn’t do it for me. I found the relationship/s just idn’t feel right in Credence. Unwrapping Deviance seriously does not have that problem. The relationship between Mira, Daniel and Christopher totally made sense and was hot as hell. The bit with the pliers let’s just say I need to go buy a pair of pliers to try out in the bedroom 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

I can honestly say I’ve never read a book before and wanted to watch an entire town burn to the ground, with everyone in it. But here we are and I’m ready to personally light the match on Jefferson and everyone in it. As for Lucy . It’s not enough that she burns with everyone else in Jefferson. She deserves to suffer at the hands of her brothers, on repeat, every single day, WHILE burning in hell.

Airicka Phoenix is now one of my favourite authors and her books will be an automatic read for me.

I always begin my reviews with some kind of eccentric statement, but I truly think Unwrapping Deviance speaks for itself. I didn’t expect to be pulled in with the blurb, but I actually enjoyed the little tidbit before the actual writing. It gave me a sense of what was to come, though what came was much better. The dynamics, the power play, and the idea of obsessive infatuation are all guilty pleasures that seem to root out any other book that I accept into my lap to read—basically making itself the first to be seen.

The copy I was given had kinks, a rough draft supposedly, but I think I enjoyed reading too much to see any of the mistakes I was told may be inside. I was hooked, but I will admit that my attention would waver slightly. Only slightly! I never strayed, I finished and I dare say I am more than pleased with what I had and I am more than overjoyed to be able to tell people that they should give it a read.

Airicka Phoenix is a really beautifully passionate writer and I love how easy it is to feel as though I’m living the experience that I’m reading—like watching a good movie and then feeling as though the credits are rolling by the time I finish. When characters are written really well, I wish deeply for authors to release books of the characters themselves—like a character profile book. I just need to know every detail!.

Hot with a decent storyline

I jumped into this book after seeing a list of the TW. I don’t have triggers and love a good dark romance book, and why choose/poly/rh are my faves. The TW list is large, and should be considered before reading this book - however, I would also say that the truly dark aspects on the list are fairly brief parts of the book. I have definitely read books that are darker/more taboo.

Ok, now the warning part is over, on to the story. I enjoyed the book - this was my first read from this author. I didn’t get bored and flew through it and plan on reading more by Airicka. I loved - adored - Christian. I normally have a hard time choosing my fave guys in books, but oh my lanta- that man just melted my heart and I just wanted to scoop him up and hug him.

As for the cons, there aren’t many and I’m basically nitpicking at this point, but I do wish that the “villain storyline was flushed out a little more and that there was more closure to this part. I also did not like how many times it was described as 10 (or 8 or 5) fingers shoved in hair instead of something like running hand through hair, tugging hair, etc. It just distracted from the story and could be worded better.

Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t mind the TW or darker reads.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
MFM - the MMCs are twins so no ⚔️
🌶️🌶️🌶.5 on the spicy scale - it’s not pure smut but it will have you 🥵

Captivated by the first chapter, the characters are relatable. The book has a morbid sense of humor that you can’t help but laugh at. I cannot express how much I adore this incredible taboo dark romance. The level of spice is simply phenomenal, and the plot is exquisitely crafted. Airicka Phoenix has truly created a masterpiece that shines in every aspect. The characters are deeply relatable, making it easy to connect with their struggles and experiences, especially when it comes to dealing with abandonment issues. The two male main characters are everything you could hope for in book boyfriends—charming, complex, and incredibly engaging. They have a deep and multifaceted relationship that adds so much depth to the story. On the other hand, the female main character is an absolute powerhouse. She embodies strength and resilience, making her journey both inspiring and captivating. The world-building is rich and immersive, enveloping you in a setting that feels both authentic and enchanting. Every element of the story, from character development to the intricate plot twists, contributes to an experience that is nothing short of phenomenal. This book is a true testament to the talent of Airicka Phoenix, and I cannot recommend it enough for anyone in search of a compelling and spicy taboo dark romance!

Some tropes:
😈primal play
😈Daddy kink
😈mild dom/sub
😈"pretty little doll"
😈orgasm denial

Wow just wow!

Airicka gives us a steamy dark and gripping story in Unwrapping Deviance. It’s a mixture of forbidden romance, suspense, and raw emotion into a story that's as provocative as it is unforgettable. Now this isn't your typical love story at all. It’s a tempest of obsession, danger, and fierce loyalty that will leave you breathless.

To start, Mira is incredibly strong and a bad B even though she's been through a really rough time. She is written as the right kind of over the top possessive😹, protective and crazy that I love. Her brattiness is relatable so if you're a brat, you can maybe see yourself in her at times. Mira is also very protective of her boys. I loved when she got violent to protect them.

Even with the heavy amount of spice, there was still a lot of story and plot. This is my first book from this author and I’m very impressed. Will definitely read their books again!! ❤️

Mira has lost everyone important in her life. Except Daniel, who happens to be her step dad. Who she is completely enamored with. She has been trying to have a physical relationship with him. But he has always stopped before they actually step over the line. When Daniels father dies and they go to settle his affairs. Mira meets Christian, Daniels twin, for the first time. Mira instantly is attracted to him. He looks like Daniel, with only minor differences. But his demeanor is completely different than Daniel. But she can’t help being a little infatuated with him. Even though she doesn’t want to lose Daniel. But the twins have secrets and nobody in the small town they grew up in likes them. They literally hate the twins and will take vengeance against them. Putting Mira in danger. Will they be able to protect her?
This was such an interesting story! It will keep you completely engrossed. I love the connection Mira has with both twins. The banter between her and Christian is HOT! Some of the steamy scenes are a little on the darker side. But not too dark. Then when you find out why they leave town and all the sick and twisted things that were done to them. Will make it so you won’t put it down! I highly recommend this book if you enjoy a little darker romance that includes sharing. This is definitely the book for you!

Unwrapping Deviance is a Dark, Why Choose, Step Father Romance. It deals with several dark and triggering subjects, and has a large amount of spicy scenes and a few acts of violence.

I love Why Choose and Dark Romance, but I admit that the Step Father Trope is not one of my favorites. Just enough people recommended this book to me, so I decided to give it a try regardless of the Step Father trope. I am absolutely thrilled that I did. Immediately I was pulled in and fascinated with Mira's curse, really everything about Mira caught my attention. So young and naive, yet strong and adventurous. Then you have Daniel and Christian, exact opposites, yet so much alike too. I was enthralled with the three main characters chemistry and their individual self evolving journey.
This book has spice on top of spice on top of spice, weaved into a suspenseful and heart wrecking, heart warming tale. There were many different twists and turns, some very dark, that kept me reading for hours at a time. More than once I found myself gobsmacked. I enjoyed how the big details of the plot were not all in one part of the story, they slowly unraveled throughout the entire book,
This was the first book by Airicka Phoenix that I have read, and it definitely will not be the last one. I highly recommend this beautifully dark story to all spicy romance readers that like a dark plot.

Unwrapping Deviance

The title is perfect for this twisted tale. The FMC is an absolute bad ass, but she isn’t portrayed as an over the top, argumentative brat trying to prove herself. In fact the book starts out showing how broken And battered she is after losing everyone she loves in a short period of time. As the story goes on you see glimpses of her strength that have you cheering her on. The MMC was married to her mother, but not as a love match, but as a way for her to be able to have insurance because she had cancer that quickly took her life. He ends up being FMC’s only support system while she is dealing with her grief. Soon he finds out his abusive father has passed away so he and FMC go to his home town and meet up with
His twin so they can deal with the home they inherited. It’s not long before the beautiful town they go to starts bringing up supposed past sins of the brothers all while a hot sexual attraction is building between the FMC and the brothers.

The story is intriguing and keeps you tuned in all the way through as more and more sickness and evil deeds are uncovered. There are some pretty dark scenes but the FMC shows just how much of a fighter she is so the dark scenes, to me were not overwhelming.

Definitely recommend this book!

Unwrapping Deviance is the second of Airicka Phoenix's books that I've read, and like Her Forbidden Flesh, it is SO DAMN DARK and well written. The fast-burn age gap romance between new adult Mira, her "stepfather" Daniel, and his twin brother, Christian, might not be realistic, but it is steamy, sweet, and tantalizingly taboo, while the emotional and engaging story is full of danger, drama, mystery, revenge, and violence, addressing heavy issues such as assault, child abuse, death, mental health, and suicide.

Spending most of the book in small-town Jefferson, the MMCs' hometown that is itself an evil character that constantly antagonizes them, the MCs gradually reveal their similarly dark histories to each other and find themselves falling in love when it's the three of them against not only the misguided and vengeful locals but also their past hardships, which continue to haunt them. Together, Mira, Daniel, and Christian fight hard for their lives and their well-deserved HEA, making Unwrapping Deviance a fun, suspenseful, and thought-provoking read. Readers who love dark and forbidden romance should definitely read Airicka's books, and I'm so excited to read the next one.

I must be cursed

Mira who is only 19 has not had an easy life. She went through four funerals in just three months before she even hit her 18th birthday. With no one left she finds her mother's husband being someone she can count on even though they barely know each other.

Mira finds herself drawn to Daniel in ways she shouldn't be since he is technically her stepfather but knowing he only married her mother, his best friend, so she could have insurance make it easier on her.

When Daniel's father passes (no sadness on this one) he is forced to return to his childhood home with his twin brother, Christian. He takes Mira with him but forces her to promise not to wonder off because it isn't safe.

This tiny little stepford town holds so many terrible secrets. The brothers are not welcome back and the town makes its displeasure known.

So come on in and unravel all the secrets the boys and the town have kept hidden. Watch as Mira finds her way into the twins lives in ways neither of them saw coming.

This is a story of secrets, lies, deception, sex, love and death. It is dark and absolutely filthy. In other words it's perfection.

Airicka Phoenix delivers an unapologetically dark and gripping story in Unwrapping Deviance, blending forbidden romance, suspense, and raw emotion into a tale that’s as provocative as it is unforgettable. This isn’t your typical love story—it's a tempest of obsession, danger, and fierce loyalty that will leave you breathless.

The protagonist’s complex relationship with Daniel and Christian MacAllister—her fake stepfather and his twin brother—is as enthralling as it is taboo. Phoenix doesn’t shy away from the murky waters of desire, addiction, and the deep scars left by trauma. Instead, she dives headfirst into the tangled web of emotions, creating a narrative that’s both unrelenting and impossible to put down.

What makes this story shine is its balance between the scorching intimacy of the trio’s relationship and the pulse-pounding suspense of their shared pasts. Jefferson, the ominous town steeped in evil, becomes a character in itself, a setting that amplifies the tension and mystery surrounding Daniel and Christian’s dark history.

The protagonist is a fierce and unapologetic heroine who refuses to let her curse define her. Her transformation from a woman haunted by loss to a warrior willing to face death to protect her chosen family is deeply compelling. Daniel and Christian are equally well-crafted, their own demons adding depth to their characters and driving the intensity of the story.

Phoenix’s writing is visceral, pulling you into the storm of passion, fear, and survival. The story is unapologetically raw, but it’s the moments of vulnerability between the characters that truly resonate, revealing the fragile humanity beneath their dark exteriors.

Why You’ll Love This Book
If you crave romances that push boundaries and defy conventions, Unwrapping Deviance is for you. It’s a story about love in its most primal, destructive, and redemptive form—a tale where obsession becomes a lifeline, and loyalty knows no bounds.

Perfect For: Fans of dark romance with morally gray characters, forbidden love, and heart-stopping suspense. If you love stories that explore the shadows of the human heart while delivering sizzling chemistry and high stakes, this book will captivate you.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A bold, daring read that will stay with you long after you’ve turned the last page.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Hold on a second while I pick my jaw up off the floor! I am truly shocked at this book the plot, the banter, the spice, everything about this book I absolutely loved! This is the perfect book if you are looking for something taboo, dark, and in the need of something to have you on the edge of your seat. Unwrapping Deviance follows Mira a sassy and headstrong FMC who is afraid that she is unintentionally killing everyone she loves. Daniel is Mira’s stepdad a loving and caring MMC who is just trying to help her keep it together. Christian the Step Uncle the misunderstood bad boy MMC who just wants to be excepted and loved. The banter between these three is truly my favorite. Mira is always trying her best to get a rise out of Daniel or Christian. Who am I kidding most of the time it’s both😂 The plot of this I absolutely devoured! The ending had me absolutely gasping, I refused to put it down! This book was truly amazing and I can’t wait to read more Airicka Phoenix in the future!

These twins really do share everything!

This is definitely a taboo, dark, twisted, one handed read, for sure!!!!
Mira has had death follow her lately. It’s a “curse she has carried with her for the last couple of years. Her best friend, her boyfriend, her dad then her mother; everyone she’s ever loved has been taken from her. So it’s understandable that she’s afraid to let anyone else close to her, including her fake stepfather, Daniel, no matter how much she dreams of allowing him in.
When Daniel’s father dies, he and Mira meet his twin brother Christian at their childhood home to do what needs done. Little does Mira know there is a reason why these men have left and never looked back. Jefferson is a Mayberry-type town that is holding its dark secrets hostage. Mira learns quickly that things aren’t always as they seem.
While fighting outside dark forces and memories of things Daniel and Christian would rather forget, Mira feels complete between her two twin men and will stop at nothing to make sure she doesn’t lose another person that she loves!

First book I read by the author but it will definitely not be the last.
Honestly, I've had to fan myself several times because these twins raise anyone's body temperature.
Mira is Daniel's stepdaughter, who has taken care of her since her mother died. Daniel and Mira's mother were never in love. He married her so that his insurance would cover her treatment. But when she dies , he has no heart to leave her 17-year-old daughter alone. So they continue to live together but Mira has always looked at him with desire, but he has always resisted the temptation.
Daniel's father dies and he has to go home to fix the inheritance papers. Both Daniel and his brother Christian do not want to return to their town, since they do not have good memories.
When Christian meets Mira, he immediately falls in love with her and she feels that she betrays Daniel for wanting his brother to take her. What she doesn't know yet is that they have already shared before.
Super 🔥🌶️fun and very entertaining.

I am quickly learning that Airicka Phoenix is the queen of taboo romance and never fails to bring a 5 star read to the table.

This was a perfect mix of both smutty romance and thriller. The thriller aspect did take a while to be intrigated into the plot, but I still felt that the two genres were well staggered well and kept up with the medium pace. There was always something happening, but not overwhelmingly so. The plot easily kept my attention for the entirety of the book and left me wanting more, even with the HEA. Small town thrillers might be my favorite sub-category of thrillers in general and this was no exception! You can feel the claustrophobic atmosphere of Jefferson through the page, which only made me cheer the three of them on more.

You are going to need a cold drink and a cold shower after this read I guarantee you. The sexual tension between the three of them is so incredibly thick. Even from the very beginning between Mira and Daniel it snatched the air from my lungs. But when Christian gets involved? I didn’t think it could get more hotter (spoiler- it does). Not only is the spice earth shatteringly good, but the intimacy of their relationships and the emotional back and forth is so tanagable. It was a privilege to watch the three of them come together and explore their feelings and other things. This taboo trope added with BDSM may very well make it’s way to my #1 favorite after this read thorough, which I bless Airicka for showing me, LOL. Regarding triggers this one is pretty full of them so please read with your mental health in mind!
