With the 5th floor nearing its end, the tournament arc is about to begin.
Alongside his first minion, Nathaniel continues traveling through the 5th floor.
They visit a fallen floating island, its defenses still active, serving as a bastion for those hiding from the monsters. Now, Housekeeper, Gardener, Armorer, and Butler rule over its ruins.
They explore the Valley, so saturated with mana radiation that it has become poisonous and home to a sleeping monster that should never be awakened.
They enter bunkers once meant to ignite the Veil, humanity’s last hope.
Pushed forward by strange encounters, relentless fights, and intense training, they uncover more secrets of the Veil and use an item called Mirror in a way it was never meant to be used.
And just around the corner, the tournament awaits. Five events, thousands of participants from the Easy, Normal, Hard, and Hell difficulties of Earth’s 5th round, all ready to fight for the top.
But Nathaniel has no plans to let anyone else take that spot.
Continue Nathaniel's crazy journey in Book 4 of HELL DIFFICULTY TUTORIAL as he takes on nightmarish foes and teams up with a far-from-normal group of bus passengers in this action-packed LitRPG Adventure. He must outsmart the odds, survive, and emerge stronger than anyone else!

Unfortunately the author has decided to fall prey to the pressures of the masses. The original appeal of this series was cold, smart overpowered, solo character with an amazing engagement with magic. That premise overlayed with an Interesting plot was what drew me in. The authors decision to have the character become more caring and people oriented destroyed the appeal for me. To make matters worst, the concentration on magic and learning it with the MC is also gone and now he just learns things in the background of the story. I wanted to see an amazing dynamic soloist personal that problem solved real issues. Not spending 60% of the book raising disciples and rescuing friends and petting dogs. If I wanted a feel good slice of life I’d go pick one up. This is my last read of the series I have no interest reading about a plutonic haram novel and all his sycophants and kowtowers.
So so good. This book finishes the floor and quests then our favorite group of Completely Normal Survivors. (Aka group 4) are into the tournament and meeting so so many people. No spoilers but if you liked the MC internal monologs about extroverts vs introverts you are invested for more laughs as he tries to servive so many people interacting. 😄 but also there is alot of emotional growth and some revealing of people's pasts (mostly hints, but you can figure some big stuff out from them) anyone who likes the isiki or "game efying the apocalypse " style books this series has consistently delivered. Love the pacing here with action and "lost interest his own thoughts studying Mana" that was given in this book too. 5 stars
One of the better series I have read with well thought out direction and an ever improving story and world. The writer is very talented at combining humor with enough complexity in the story to make this a very enjoyable read. Many series get boring after an initial strong start but this story keeps improving and gives you plot twists and character development that keeps you engaged. Also appreciate the fact the books are fairly long rather than some of these sub 400 quick reads that pop up in the genre. Looking forward to seeing where the story goes.
The journey of group 4 continues. The series really comes into its own with phenomenal character development, interesting new floors, an epic tournament arc, and the continued pacification of the corgi that will devour the universe.
I love this series, and the books keep getting better. Cant wait for the next!
This is my current favorite LitRPG series for multiple reasons. Weak to strong MC. Slow progression. Excellent world building. Lots of important supporting characters fleshed out.
But most importantly is the mindset of the MC. He appears to either be on the spectrum with maybe Asperger's, or psychopathy- a lack of emotional empathy.
These books cannot be written fast enough. The MC is an acerbic sarcastic needling asshole that you can’t help but love. , while never feeling like the author had to try. The flow of the story with emotional moments, then injection of humor are perfectly timed and balanced. Can’t help but feel this is just the beginning for this author!
This series has been such an incredibly pleasant surprise, from the first book until now it just keeps delivering fun and action far beyond what I expected. I’ve recommended it to my friends and they agree, with this book ranking above book 3 but nothing comes close to 1 or 2. Looking forward to the next one.
I still like this series but this one got overly trope-y and was filled with a lot of meaningless and skippable words related to combat. It also didn’t really feel like we moved forward particularly far. It may be that book five will return us to something more fun, but I’ve read enough of these endless tales to not have my hopes up.
This book really delivered. It was everything I wanted with a great cliff hanger. I really enjoyed the tournament and meeting the others in the tutorial. What a ride! Thanks, Cerim!
This is just another hilarious and funny book. I loved it and I hope you enjoy it too. I like the story and the way it progresses in each and every new one. I can’t wait for number 5!
The first person present tense writing style and the weirdness of the protagonist are a bit aggravating and feel rather juvenile. The plot , on the other hand, is rather good. I rather liked the morbidity on the fallen worlds..
This is a great story with great characters It is skillfully written with depth of emotion and layers. Highly recommend JD Glasscock Author of the Series Blood Brothers, Nocturne and The Warborn
Gets a bit better than the previous books in the series. The MC is still his edgelord self, but there is now much more action and much less pointless introspection. Overall, still a fun read.
This serie has gone bland and boring for me. The MC is now integrated with his groupmates, which is one of the things that goes against the setting at the start. Going to drop the series.
