If You Love Me

Rate this book
Two nights with her ruined me for all other women, but I never got the chance to make her mine.

I’m the pinnacle of control. I protect the net, my team, and my daughter.
It’s my final season and I can’t afford any distractions.
Except our new assistant coach just walked in.
And I would know her face anywhere.
She’s the one I dream about.

That weekend, I was just a man—not the legend, the dad, the mentor.
I didn’t care that I was a decade older.
For the first time in my life, I was ready to risk everything if it meant having her.
Until I woke up to an empty bed and no note.
Three years of wishing I knew how to find her, now she’s my new boss.

I can be patient.
But for her—I want to break all the rules.

An emotionally intense hockey romance in the next Toronto Terror installment that have your emotions in a rollercoaster ride...

I knew what I was diving myself into when it came down to this next installment in the Toronto Terror series by the queen of all hockey romances . I knew that Roman was going to be this possessive, over the top protective male character, with a side of softness to all of his hard exterior that will make any reader melt for him and the way he cares and loves his family. And when you introduce someone as vulnerable yet strong of a character that is Lexi, you instantly know that these two will combust every single page of this book.

After their first interaction, and magical weekend spent together; Lexi & Roman see each other once again after three years in an unexpected way. Roman never forgot about their passionate weekend, one that haunted him for three years until that one day when Lexi is introduced as the first female assistant coach in the NHL. Did she know who Roman was when they first met? Yes; but she did not let it slip that she knew who he was because of the instant attraction she felt towards him. She did not want him to think that she was only with him because of his "fame", but more so because of the connection and sparks she felt that instant towards Roman.

And after three years, she is now the goalie's coach. Lines of attraction and passion cannot be crossed. Lexi's reputation as the first female assistant coach is on the line; but fighting over their attraction is one that becomes a struggle to both Roman and Lexi. Roman has never felt the way he feels towards Lexi. This connection of finding his soul mate, his partner, his best friend... his lover. It is one that is foreign to him yet, he welcomes it with open arms and love. Not only towards Lexi, but her two younger sisters in which she had to take legal guardianship for after her mom and step-father passed away.

Helena has once again written a story where the main center of attention are the main character, but still we get these scenes here and there featuring past characters of not only her previous books in this series, but little easter eggs from her previous series, as well as for her future novels. Keeping us on our toes seems to be her speciality, because I am still in anxious anticipation for Flip and Tally's book!

A Helena Hunting hockey romance is always a good pick and this new one is no different!

Lexi and Roman met three years ago but they can’t stop thinking about their “weekend stand. No one called it that, that’s what I’m calling it. They haven’t seen each other since that weekend and now she has been hired to be an assistant coach for the Toronto Terror hockey team. The team Roman is the goalie for.

Lexi and Roman need to figure out if they are willing to risk it all for a second chance with each other or not.

I’m really enjoying this series!

✨️I recommend going to Helena's website and downloading "If you stay the night" ahead of reading this. It's free and gives the context of Roman and Lexi's past! Move over book boyfriends, there's a new man in town, and his name is Roman! He was dominant and possessive but also stepped up and helped take care of Lexi as well as her sisters 😍. This was such a beautiful love story. It was sweet, but it also had so amazing spice 🤭. I love the found family in this series. The hockey team and bad ass babe brigade really stepped up, and made Lexi and her sisters feel included. The narrators were amazing! Stephen Dexter's deep voice really sounded exactly how I imagined Roman sounding. If you're an audiobook lover, I'd definitely recommend going that way with this book! I loved it so much. I'm really so excited for Flip's book next!!

Thank you to Helena for the advanced copy of this audiobook!

Lexi + Roman

So far we met Roman as Hammer's dad and as the best friend of his future son-in-law. Lol.
Now he gets his own story - with the one who got away.
Three years ago. After an amazing weekend. No last name. No goodbye. Nothing. Just memories. He hasn't stopped thinking about that weekend.
And now she's here. As his team's new assistant coach. Yikes.
Lexi never forgot him either. But her life got super complicated this last year. And now she's working for his team.
They can't start anything while she's his boss. But Roman will retire after this season. Will they be able to keep their hands off each other for that long?

LET THE FUN TIMS BEGIN!

Adorable!

I still don't love hockey but this story was so cute and funny and sparky and heartbreaking and I just loved reading this.
Poor Lexi with her completely new life in a new city, dream job, inherited sisters. She needs this job to be a success.
And Roman. He's thinking of his future too. He doesn't want to leave Toronto and his daugher. And he's even considering to retire sooner to be with Lexi.
I loved reading this. I kinda skipped over the porny scenes - the dirty talk was just way too cringey for me. But the story was so sweet and fun and emotional.

We also still have the side story of the fighting boys Flip and Connor and whatever happened with them years ago. And we also see some future sparksies between some more people. Can't wait to see what and who is next!
(Okay - we know what's next - it's a non-Terror non-Hockey Second Chance romance between Essie + Nate!)

IF YOU LOVE ME was such a sweet and funny and sparky and sexy and emotional Hockey Love Story! Run to your nearest book dealer for your own Roman - this one is so mine.

I really enjoyed this audiobook!

What I loved:
-The team dynamic and found family vibes of this entire standalone series is top tier!
-I loved that Helena tackled the issues of female coaches within the hockey league and calls out the double standard and expectations placed upon women in these fields.
-The sister relationship and family moments were super sweet. I liked that therapy was talked about in such a healthy way.
-Low angst, minimal if any miscommunication since both characters are older and more mature. They talk about their issues.
-The tension was so good. They like each other, have amazing chemistry, but their jobs keep them apart. The tension was amped up because they both know how they feel and what they want but try to wait.
-Roman is beyond protective and caring, and we saw that anytime he went full "family" mode for the heroine, her sisters, or his daughter.
-The way he was so soft and protective with the heroine, but more "controlling" int he bedroom (but in a soft way) was a very interesting dynamic. He is not dominating but there is definitely a vibe of he is in charge and in control where the bedroom is concerned.

I am DYING for Connor's and Flip's books. I feel like the wait might end me, but wait I shall, and the books in between will be just as great! I am excited for what was announced at the end of this one.

As always, there are great narrators, as her audiobooks are always worth a listen!

Alexandria Forrester moved to Toronto for her dream job coaching a pro hockey team. She’s excited to be the first female coach in the league, and this job means everything to her. When she’s introduced to her new team, she comes face to face with the man she can’t seem to forget. They spent one weekend together, and have a history, but she can’t let it get in the way of this amazing opportunity. She has to keep things professional and platonic. The only problem is, he’s even more gorgeous than the last time she saw him. She needs to distance herself as much as possible, but is he a temptation too hard to resist?

Roman Hammerstein has spent his whole life focused on his daughter Peggy, and hockey. He’s the beloved goalie for the Toronto Terror, and the veteran player that’s considered the team dad. He’s in his last year of his contract, and doesn’t need any distractions. Then the woman that’s consumed his dreams for the past three years walks in the door. She’s here in his world, and is his new boss. Even though she’s off limits, he feels powerless against the strong pull between them. She’s smart, driven, breathtakingly beautiful and everything he wants. As he struggles to handle his intense feelings, will he lose the battle and break all the rules for love?

If You Love Me by Helena Hunting is the fourth book in her fabulous Toronto Terror series. Roman’s story is the one I’ve been waiting for, and it didn’t disappoint. We are used to the more serious, protective dad vibe, but we finally get his sexy, alpha side. This is a slow burn, single dad, age gap, workplace, forbidden, sports romance about family, unbreakable connections and second chances. It’s full of emotion, humor, swoon, electric chemistry and sizzling tension. I really loved this story, and can’t wait for more in this series! <333

I was super happy for being able to be part of Helena's ARC team for this one! Thank you so, so much Helena and Good Girls Pr for the ARC and ALC early copies!💜

Alexandria Forester (Lexi) had a one night stand or better said a weekend stand with hockey player Roman Hammerstein. They haven't seen each other since then, until Lexi is picked up to work as couch assistant at the same team as Roman.

The tension between them was still very palpable and they found it so hard to ignore their feelings, but a romance connection couldn't be possible between them. Why? Because Lexi was his coach and it was against team rules. How will they be able to tame the wilde connection they have?

This book was super cute and fun, but at the same time offered us many steamy and explicit parts too. The chemistry between Lexi and Roman was incredible and I liked how much he cared for her well-being. Lexi had a hard time with her family too, after she and her sisters lost their parents/step-parents. Somehow, Roman won their hearts too, being impossible not to love him for how considerate and protective he was. Definitely an outstanding golden retriever!🤭

I really liked this forbidden romance, mixed with the sports parts, being great as a whole. The ending had some suspenseful moments, which kept me glued to the book. It was such a nice experience to be also able to listen to this story!

This is a story about finding the right person at the wrong time. What happens when you meet your soulmate and spend one beautiful weekend with them that was absolutely perfect but knowing that you have to leave them alone in bed the next morning?

Lexi breathes hockey. She gets a dream job becoming the assistant coach for the Toronto Terrors. She knew that one guy that she fell in love with three years ago is on the team, but is hoping that he doesn’t remember her.
Oh, he definitely remembers and is absolutely crushed to see how easily she moved on from that amazing weekend with him.

“I've never met Roman The Player before-only Roman The Man.
There's no way he would remember me the way I remember him.
And I remember every last detail of my time with Roman Hammerstein.

That’s the thing. Neither one ever moved on to someone else. They are it for each other, but now are in a complicated forbidden romance because coaches cannot date their players.

“I've spent the past three years obsessing over her, and suddenly she's here, in my world.

“How the hell do people have workplace romances without everyone finding out? I might as well be wearing a shirt that reads: The goalie owns me.

I’ve loved every book in this series. I love the found family vibes. All of the sisterhood vibes. All the besties. We have pregnancies and marriages coming up. It’s just such a feel good but spicy series! I’m obsessed!

“Thank you for weathering this storm with me. I know this hasn’t been easy.
“Loving you is worth it.

This was a fun and emotional, second-chance romance from the queen of hockey romance! Lexi and Roman meet at a baseball game and have a weekend of “Caramel drizzle dick is my favorite fun only to separate for 3 years. The next time they meet?

My entire world inverts. Because the woman of my dreams—the one who disappeared without so much as a goodbye note—just became my fucking boss.

🤭🤭

The grief and found family in this book was really a highlight for me. There were times I had to put the book down and *breath* because Lexi was hurting and I was hurting.

Owner of my fucking body. Provider of magical orgasms. Biggest dick I’ve ever had the pleasure of trying (and failing) to deep throat. But my effort was applauded, appreciated, and rewarded with more multiple orgasms than I’ve ever received in a weekend.

This was a power dynamics book. Lexi was Roman’s coach and in a supervisor/boss position but in the bedroom 👀 *the tables have turned* so the spice was spicing 🔥

Thank you to Helena and Sarah for this ARC!

I was thrilled to finally get Roman’s story and of course I wasn’t disappointed at all. Roman and Lexi are explosive and so sweet together. How Roman is with Callie and Fee will melt your heart. Helena never disappoints when it comes to the Terrors. I’m so excited for the next couple.

A few years ago, Roman spent the weekend with a mystery woman. One that threw him for a loop and has kept him wondering about what could have been.

Now he knows who this mystery woman is. Alexandria, or Lexi, is now a coach on his team. And now 100% forbidden. Doesn't matter, though, because he doesn't care about her... does he?

We've only seen once side of Roman these past few books. Caring father, a shoulder for all of his teammates. Now we get to see the man. The one who wants a future that's just out of reach and really, really complicated to get.

Lexi is in a precarious position. If she has a relationship with Roman, it will definitely put her job on the line and her reputation at risk. She's got a lot on her shoulders, professionally and privately. It's important that she supports her sisters.

The whole Terror clan is involved. I loved how the girls opened their lives to Lexi and her sisters. The Terror is such a family. One that's going to have a lot of mixup with a new player. Y'all are not ready for this contentious group of boys to reveal past wrongs.

The longing in this book is top tier. It's rough when you KNOW you're perfect together, but being together can't happen.

Can. Not. Wait. For the next book. I love my main girl so much in each book. (The next FMC, I mean.)

If You Love Me by is the fourth book of the Toronto Terror interconnected series. In this book Roman gets his chance at love. Roman is a fan favorite and the father of Aurora who’s love story can be found in If You Want Me. This series has a great cast of characters and lots of memorable moments.

Roman is in his last year of professional hockey. He became a Dad at 18 at the same time he was drafted. He is an amazing Dad and has always put her first. He never married her mom but they co-parent well. He is the Dad of the team and just an all around great person.

Lexi is a hockey coach who just got custody of her half sisters after their parents died. She just became the first female coach for men’s professional hockey. Roman has been on her mind for 3 years since their weekend together where she slipped out not leaving her last name or contact information. She knew who Roman was but he didn’t know she knew. She didn’t want it to seem like she was using him to help her career so she left to avoid that. They both felt an undeniable connection but she had to walk away.

Now he is her Goalie and she is his coach. This story is how they navigate the dynamics in order to come together and how they get past her walking out on him.

The tension is 🤌

This one brings all the emotions!!! ❤️❤️❤️

In If You Love Me, hockey player Roman is reunited with Lexi, the woman who captured his heart three years ago. Now she’s the newest assistant coach of the Toronto Terror and completely off-limits.

What I loved most is how Roman makes it his mission to support Lexi as she juggles her new role and raising her stepsisters. We already knew he was a great dad, but seeing him with Lexi’s sisters just warmed my heart.

The longing, tension, slow burn, forbidden relationship, dirty talk, and grand gestures—this book has it all!

The audiobook, narrated by Stephen Dexter and Stella Bloom, elevates the experience. Stephen Dexter’s voice is perfect for Roman, capturing his longing and big Daddy energy, while Stella Bloom makes Lexi relatable as she navigates her challenges as a trailblazing bada$$ while raising her stepsisters and dealing with her own grief.

I also loved how the Terror family surrounds Lexi and her sisters with love and support, especially the newest member, Connor Grace. Speaking of Connor, I need his book ASAP!

REVIEW
cw: bereavement, grief, parental abandonment, bullying, misogyny

Alexandria Forrester is the first female assistant coach in the league, newly recruited to The Toronto Terror hockey team. There, she's having to face a decision she's regretted for the past three years - leaving veteran Terror goaltender, Roman Hammerstein, in the bed they shared for one incredible weekend in New York, with no way to contact her again. Roman is rightfully angry. He's been unable to forget her either. But as he becomes reacquainted with the woman who broke his heart, he realises he's willing to risk everything for another chance with her.

Well, this book thoroughly redeemed Roman for me. I'd loved him in the first book, but I became a little frustrated with how overbearing he sometimes was during 'If You Want Me'. So, I was incredibly relieved to discover he was just as sweet and kind as I'd first thought, and I absolutely ADORED finally getting inside his head. Seeing that his (sometimes intense) attention was actually his way of showing how much he cared about the people around him only made me realise how much of a sweetheart he truly was. I loved how much he cared not only about Lexi, but also Callie and Fee, her sisters. He was so steady, compassionate, and capable, and I immediately adored how wonderful he was with Callie, and how utterly gone he was for Lexi
I loved Lexi immediately. She was so kind, and the perfect mix of extremely competent and skilled in her job, but vulnerable in her private life. Callie, Lexi's youngest sister was so adorable, and I loved her enthusiasm for hockey, especially for Connor, Roman, and Kodiak. But my heart broke for both her and Lexi's teenage sister Fee, who we were briefly introduced to in 'Chase Lovett Wants Me'. I wanted to hug all three sisters so many times, but never more so than when Callie and Fee finally revealed what they'd secretly been dealing with. I ADORED Roman's calm, measured talk with them both and how he supported Lexi. It was so hard seeing them struggling to navigate their new reality, especially on Christmas morning. Seriously, I was sobbing. It’s hard enough losing one parent, but it was heartbreaking to see how the three of them were struggling with their grief in their own different ways. Those scenes were especially well-written. My heart also ached for Lexi and her relationship with her father, but I was cheering her on when she finally addressed it.
The mutual pining was sublime, and the added element of it being 'forbidden' only added to the anticipation. When they finally succumbed to their feelings for each other it was everything I'd hoped for. I loved Roman's unexpectedly filthy mouth. But I also loved how respectful and, frankly, in awe of Lexi's coaching skills, as well as her career. I appreciated that there wasn't any frustrating, prolonged miscommunication in the story. These were two mature adults who talked things through.
One of the best things about Helena's writing is that she truly understands hockey. The on-ice coaching felt authentic and I loved that there was plenty of it. After all, this is a hockey romance! It was fun to see more of the behind-the-scenes action, and we were introduced to some new characters from the coaching staff. Boxer seemed nice, but I could see Donnie was going to be a problem from the beginning. However, I LOVED how the situation was dealt with, and chapter thirty-four was so well-written (no spoilers, but I squealed). Lexi's nerves were palpable, and I laughed so much at Lexi's flustered 'Hammer-Peggy-Aurora'. I also felt for Aurora, but I LOVED her teasing. The recognition from both her and Roman that they were seeing the same situation playing out in reverse was a lovely touch.
It was fun to catch up with the rest of the Terror team, as well as the other members of the BBB. Party planner Tristan was so stinking cute! I also loved how welcoming the BBB was, especially Dred. She was SUCH a wonderful friend to Lexi and her sisters, even from their first meeting, and I cannot wait for her to find her own HEA - I have my suspicions about who she will (hopefully) end up with. I also adored the heart-to-heart between Roman and Hollis. Meanwhile, the dressing room banter was hilarious as always, and I loved seeing everything from Roman's perspective this time around. His awkwardness and occasional exasperation with Hollis and Peggy's PDA made me giggle. With the trade of Connor Grace, we finally got to discover the reason for the animosity between him and Flip, and... it was NOT what I was expecting, but utterly hilarious. I snorted laughing at Dallas's description of the reason, and once the full reason was revealed it made sense, but also made me CACKLE. It was also interesting to finally get to know the now, infamous player a little more, and to see him from a less tainted POV. I'm already a fan, and deeply invested in him finding his HEA. I loved how he reacted to Callie's card and the misfit's Christmas Eve was SO cute. Seriously! Who knew he was going to be SUCH a sweetheart? His birthday gift for Callie was ADORABLE! But my heart ached for him every time we got a little glimpse of his own childhood.
As always, one of the things I love most about the world Helena Hunting has created is the overlapping tendrils between different series. The Pucked/All In/Lies, Hearts, & Truths Easter eggs were wonderful additions, but especially the Water's family updates, and the hint of a potential new addition to the Terror (everything crossed for that one!) As I mentioned earlier, I LOVED that we got to properly meet Fee from 'Chase Lovett Wants Me', and it was hilarious seeing her excitement for the latest fanfic updates, knowing what was inside them (IYKYK). It was also fun to see more of Nate and Essie, and I cannot wait for their book. As for the continuing tease of Flip and Tally? I am still here for every single second of it! Every. Single. One. The fact that no one could ever remember Tally's boyfriend's name made me snort laughing. But I loved Flip's concern for Tally at the cafe.
The ending was everything I wanted it to be, and more. This series just keeps getting better and better. I was lucky enough to also have access to a copy of the audiobook, which was wonderfully narrated by Stella Bloom and Stephen Dexter, and I CANNOT recommend it enough! Seriously, both of them knocked it out of the park.
Just gorgeous.

Favourite Quotes:

Ralph seems nice, a little quirky, but he’s the goalie coach, so that tracks.

She’s a lethal combination of gorgeous and competent. Some of the younger guys on the team are all hormones. I cannot handle one of those horny little sh*ts eyeing her like the f**king treat she is.

“At least you’re taking care of your girl, Madden says un-f**king-helpfully. I swear, if he tries to high five anyone about my daughter’s orgasms, I’m going to lay him out.

I’ve spent the past three years obsessing over her, and suddenly she’s here, in my world. I don’t know how to handle this, and it’s all coming out as anger. But it’s a mask for the disappointment that followed waking up alone in that hotel bed with no explanation as to why.

“There was a sandwich incident. Dallas ears turn red.
“Dude. Tristan shakes his head.

“It’s always survival for me, Coach Forrester. I get close to good things, and then they disappear. There’s bite to his tone, but also another emotion. Sadness maybe. And resignation.

“What do you think it’s like for me, watching you own the ice every day. Having to stay quiet while you step into this role and f**king own it. Seeing all these sides of you. Knowing how different it could be when it’s just you and me and all the walls are down. Every night I fall asleep thinking about you, and every morning I f**k my hand to the image of you just so I can control myself when I’m on the ice with you.

“You can’t look at me like that, Roman.
“We’re not on the ice. You can’t tell me what to do, Alexandria. I sip my scotch to hide my smile at her frustrated expression.

"You’re everything I want and can’t have. It’s killing me, Lexi. You’re killing me, I grind out.

Callie tips her head back. “Wow, Santa. You’re tall. And not as friend shaped as I expected.
I almost die. “Friend shaped is what her teacher calls her chonky cat. As in, Mr. Snuggles is friend shaped and excellent for hugging.

He strokes his thumb along my knuckles. “Always so strong. You’re a force, angel. I’m proud of the way you love these girls.

With Roman everything is different. I don’t have to be in control. I can give it to him and trust that he’ll take care of my every need. With Roman I finally feel like I truly belong to someone, mind, body and soul. I can forget who I’m supposed to be to everyone else because I’m just his. His to tease, to pleasure, to take pleasure from.

“We were living in Pearl Lake, Bright explains. “It was a small town, and half the population was the coaches kids. We were a bunch of walking hormones with nowhere to blow off steam. Bread is a lot softer than our hands.

I stroke her cheek and press my lips to the top of her head. Holding her in my arms makes me feel like a king. I would fight a thousand armies just to have this moment with her.

“They can’t see me like this. I dash tears away.
“Yes, they can, and they should. You’re hurting too. You’re not their parent, you’re their sister, and they need to understand that this is just as hard for you as it is for them. It’s okay for them to see you upset. It’s how you connect, and heal.

"I was showing up no matter what, Lexi. Staying away from you, maintaining a veneer of professionalism, I do those things for you, not me. But when you’re hurting, I can’t toe that line. I won’t. And I will face whatever consequences there are for that, because not being here when you need me isn’t something I can handle.

I’m past falling. I’ve fallen. That realization is sobering. And damning. But I don’t want to undo it. Not when he’s here, trying to keep us from shattering.

Every word he speaks, every story he shares, every moment of connection he forms with my sisters winds him tighter around my heart.

Alex doesn’t seem fazed in the slightest. Although I’ve read some of the things his wife says in interviews, so I doubt much shocks him.

“There’s quiet, and then there’s this chucklehead. Vander Zee sighs. “Madden would be a better option than this guy.
I arch a brow. “Seriously?
“F**k no. But this kid gets two thumbs down.

...If all goes according to plan, I’ll get to take that little girl on family vacations. I’ll be the one who reads her bedtime stories, gets on the ice with her, goes to parent-teacher interview nights, and cheers her on at games. While I’ll never replace her dad, I’ll sure as hell do my best to fill the void his loss has caused.
I’m falling just as hard for those girls as I am for Lexi. I’m excited about the possibility of stepping into the role of parent again. Unconventional, maybe. But this time I’ll have a partner who feels the same way about me as I do about her.

“I will never be able to top this birthday, Lexi says as she surveys the mountain of gifts.
“You won’t have to, now that you have us, Tristan assures her. “We take care of our own. You’re family, Coach. We’ve got your back.

I have a deeper appreciation now for how hard it must have been for Hollis last year when he was in this position—feeling like he had to hide his feelings for Peggy, wishing he could love her the way he does now, afraid to blow up our friendship, unsure if I’d ever get over the betrayal.
But they made it out the other side, which gives me hope for me and Lexi.

“I want you. I want to be with you. I want to take care of you, and love you, and support you and the girls. I’m head over heels for you, Lexi. I’m desperate for the season to be over so we can be together. I think about early retirement on the daily because I want you more than I want to finish the season. You are what makes coming to the rink worth it every day."

“I’m not scared of messy. I raised a daughter on my own who ended up falling for my best friend. I can handle messy..."

“Can I ride a dragon instead? Flip asks.
“You can ride anything you want, Tally pipes up. Her eyes go wide, and she sinks into her chair.

He takes my face in his hands. “You’re going to be my sweet angel and let me take care of you exactly how I want, aren’t you?
My knees go weak and a shiver skitters down my spine. “Yes, Roman.
His smile grows wicked. “Good girl.

“Thank you for weathering this storm with me. I know this hasn’t been easy.
“Loving you is worth it.

She squeezes my hands, and her eyes well. “I’ve waited a long time to see you happy like this. You have the biggest heart. I have felt so loved and cared for and protected, and now they get to have that, too. You deserve to be a dad with someone, and Lexi is the perfect person for you. You balance each other, just like Hollis and I balance each other.

Well, I had a feeling I was going to fall for Daddy Roman... AND I WAS RIGHT!

Ladies, he is the blue print. Period.

💖 What to Expect:
 Friends-to-lovers
 Forced proximity
 Age gap
 Single dad
 Second chances
Slow burn with a swoony payoff

This is another heartwarming and swoony romance in a series of interconnected hockey romance standalones. It's packed with charm, humor, and just the right amount of emotional depth to keep you hooked from start to finish. The romance unfolds in such a satisfying way, making it an absolute joy to listen to. And I will be honest, after the epilogue from book 3 I was foaming at the mouth for Roman's story.

The audiobook narration was fantastic! The narrators brought the characters to life with great chemistry and emotion, making the story even more engaging. Their voices fit the characters perfectly. And Daddy Roman was just dreamy. My jaw was quite literally on the floor with the way he was so fiercely protective but such a dom in the spicy scenes ;)

Literally hearing Stephen Dexter call her a good girl is reason enough to listen to this book.

But if you need another reason, if you love a feel-good romance with well-developed characters and a touch of heartfelt emotion this is a must-listen. Highly recommend for my audiobook girlies!

ahhhhh this book was so freaking good! i’ve been so excited for roman’s book and it was everything i could’ve wanted. hooked. obsessed. couldn’t get enough. the audio for this one was sensational and the listening experience was incredible. the narrators were perfect and did an exceptional job, so good.

lexi and roman own me. these two were just so fantastic and both were so down bad for each other. the chemistry between them was electric and you could feel just how much they wanted one another. they cared for each other so much and wanted the best for one another. lexi was an incredible guardian to her two younger sisters and it goes without saying that roman was a fantastic father. lexi and roman were so perfectly perfect for each other and made such an incredible team. i loved them sooooo much.

if you love me is my favorite book in the toronto terror series! this series has a hold on me and hand-to-heart a single dad romance will always make me feral and roman was ELITE! i love this world, i love these characters, i love the friendships, i just love it all. i am so ecstatic for the next book and i can’t wait , ugh it’s going to be so good!

*thank you helena and her team for the alc*

ALC review!

I really enjoyed this book! Lexi and Roman were perfect together. I really enjoyed lexi and everything she has done for her sisters and the role she took on and showed her struggles. I thought the story was different or with a twist I hadn't read before. Roman was the grumpy oved protective goalie you couldn't help but love with some age gap thrown in.

I think one thing that overwhelmed me was all the people in it. Listening to it and keeping track of everyone was a tad overwhelming! But overall good story and plot and some fun banter.

The way that I have been absolutely waiting on pins and needles for Roman's book and it did not disappoint! He's always been this steady and lovable character throughout this series and I just knew that we were all going to love him....and we do...we really really do. I absolutely love these two together with my entire heart...the way he stepped up to help Lexi and make sure that she had the support system that she needed was nothing short of amazing.

Hands down one of my fave by Helena!

Daddy Roman = Swoony DREAM! If You Love Me by Helena Hunting was a make-me-melt hockey romance that I absolutely devoured in one sitting. I had been anticipating Roman’s romance for some time, and Lexi could not have been more PERFECT for him. I loved everything about their second chance/ forbidden journey to HEA.

Stella Bloom and Stephen Dexter perform this audiobook in dual narration. These two fully embodied all things Lexi and Roman, and I was here for it. Stella’s light, sensual tone captured Lexi’s passionate, vulnerable, and dedicated persona brilliantly as she took on a new monumental job, tackled parenting roles, and the burning desire for Roman. Stephen’s deep, silky voice gave Roman all the allure and charm a woman could want simply making him super dreamy. Plus, both narrators presented just the right amount of longing and tension between these two to make you want to combust!

Overall, I LOVED this book. If you are a fan of a single dad hockey romance with a hot seasoned goalie, a devoted hardworking assistant coach, second chances, forbidden, catching up with the Badass Girl Brigade, navigating guardianship, all the tension, revealing truths, Watering Hole bonding, Christmas Day steam, surprise birthday parties, apples and caramel spice, intimate conversations, love declarations, avoiding scandal, retirement opportunities, and a HEA that you will LOVE, then you will fall hard for Lexi and Roman. I always look forward to more from Helena Hunting.

This is my first book by Helena Hunting, and just two chapters in, I promised myself—I HAVE TO READ THE ENTIRE SERIES.

I love love love this book! The plot, the chemistry, the characters—everything is so perfect. AND I CRIED TWICE WHILE READING.

Lexi is a newly hired assistant coach who never expected to run into her two-night stand from three years ago—the one she left without a word. Turns out, he’s her team’s goalie, Roman.

Their connection is undeniable, and the tension between them is so frustrating because they want to be together, but they can’t—thanks to the team’s fraternization rule. Watching them struggle with their feelings, trying to resist but failing miserably? Torture (in the best way).

Lexi is such a special character. I truly felt her emotions, her selflessness, and her devotion to her sisters. And Roman? OMG, WHY IS HE SO PERFECT?! A single dad who genuinely cares for Lexi’s well-being? Absolute dream. They are so perfect together!

This book hooked me from the very first chapter. The found family theme is delivered beautifully, and the friendships between the characters warmed my heart. Although I did get a little confused with all the different nicknames for the characters, it didn’t take away from the story, the emotions, or the insane chemistry. Maybe I just have a short-term memory issue or maybe it’s a sign I need to binge the entire series!

Tropes you’ll love:
 Age gap
 Workplace romance
 Second chance
 Single dad
 Hockey romance

Thank you, Helena Hunting for this ARC and ALC opportunity!

The way I am in love with the Toronto Terror!! This series just keeps getting better. Lexi && Roman were just.. *chefs kiss*

Lexi && Roman shared a weekend together three years ago && they both still think about it all the time. Fast forward to now && Lexi is Roman’s new coach. The tension && pining between these two.. it kept me turning the pages! Lexi has also taken guardianship of her two half sisters after they lose their parents. This whole situation went back && forth between heartbreaking && heartwarming for me. It was a struggle to see all of the sisters figure out a new life in a new city together, but I also loved seeing the way Roman took care of them && the way the whole BBB && teammates came together to help them out. They were meant to move there && be a part of that team. Roman was meant for them as well.

I will always love this group of characters. I never want their stories to end. Plus all the Easter eggs from past books to current ones gives me hope we’ll be seeing the Terrors for awhile!

HOW DOES HELENA JUST KEEP MAKING THE SERIES BETTER & BETTER?!?! This is seriously one of my favorite hockey romance series of all time, with Roman & Lexi as the latest installment & I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!

The audio (no spoiling the narrators yet 🙃) was absolutely DELICIOUS! They did an impeccable job bringing Roman & Lexi to life with all the hurt, anger, PINING, chemistry, & absolute love they had! It made the reading experience (the book is incredible) even better & 10000% recommend doing the audio as well!

Daddy Roman, in all sense of the word “daddy, COULD GET IT! This MAN!!!! Gah, the way he takes care of his people, how he would sacrifice just about anything to be with Lexi, how he loved & cared for not only her, but her sisters too? Any scene where he was “dad/parenting, I SWOONED! Love a mentally healthy man!

And Lexi?! The woman had the world on her shoulders but handled it with so much grace, even when she didn’t think she could. From making history in the hockey world to raising her sisters, she was a complete badass & also so relatable!

Their chemistry is INSANE & the pull they have to one another even after three years is something they cannot fight! They melted my kindle & AirPods & I THANKED them for it 🔥🤣

Adored, loved, can’t stop thinking about them!!

From the moment we were introduced to Roman he had me intrigued, fast forward to If You Need Me and OH MY GOSH!!! I NEEDED his book ASAP because holy mother of PLOT TWISTS!!!

Now we’re here, we’re FINALLY here and Roman’s story is about to be told, my whole body is shaking with anticipation!

So from the get go Roman had my heart. His relationship with Peggy is so freaking beautiful, he’s such a wonderful dad. The relationship with his teammates is strong, they have a bond, a bond that makes each of them a family and now in comes Lexi…and man does she knock him for six.

Lexi is an absolute treat. She’s not had life as easy as others. When an accident ends with her mother passing she’s left to look after her two young sister’s one who just happens to be obsessed with the Toronto Terrors. The team she’s become the assistant coach for who also happens to house the man she hasn’t stopped thinking about after their weekend fun, three year ago.

The shock of their first meet again to their insanely hot chemistry these two could not help but be pulled together. The tension and the way their looks to each other could start a fire they were that heated, gah!

I loved seeing the fatherly side to Roman, the way he treats and adores Peggy, the way he acted with Fee and Callie, oh be still my beating heart. I fell for this man hard and fast.

I liked that there was minimal drama that they were both grown up enough to talk through their problems and feelings. Neither of the pushed the other into doing things they didn’t feel they could handle.

Watching whilst they manoeuvre through their relationship was fun and VERY hot but heart wrenching at times. I honestly don’t think there’s a more perfect couple than these two.

Helena (aka queen of hockey romance’s) smashed this book so freaking hard. The rollercoaster that is this book had me hooked from the very first page. Everything about these two and their story made this book unputdownable.

If you love

* Hockey Romance
* Found Family
* Second Chance
* Forbidden
* Workplace
* Single Dad
* Slow burn

then if you love me is the book for you.

You will NOT regret picking up this book, in fact this entire series. It’s THAT good!

✨ARC Review

Lexi and Roman have taken the top spot of my favorite Helena couple.

These two were UTTER PERFECTION.

3 years after Roman and Lexi spent 48 hours tangled up in each other only for Roman to wake up at the end of it with Lexi gone, they are reunited in a way he never could’ve expected. She’s his new coach.

When Lexi left Roman in that hotel room, she never could’ve imagined that 3 years later she’d become his coach, and even less believable than that is that she’s a single guardian to both of her little sisters.

While Lexi navigates life after the loss of her mom and stepdad, moving into a parent role for her sisters, and adjusting to a new job she also has to deal with the fact that her feelings for her goalie are growing at a rapid pace.

Roman is shocked to say the least when Lexi shows up, but his emotional intelligence is through the roof and he realizes that the obstacles she’s facing are going to be tough. He’s there for her in whatever capacity she needs him, and it’s truly so amazing to witness.

When things go sideways and accusations get hurled around regarding the nature of their relationship, Lexi and Roman come up with a solution that yall are going to lose your minds over.

Add in the fact that he jumps headfirst into being a part of Callie and Fee’s lives, is respectful of Lexi’s boundaries, loves his own daughter enough to give her the space needed to shine all while dealing with major life changes of his own, and Roman Hammerstein has me HOOKED.

Lexi is not only a magnificent and knowledgeable hockey coach, but she’s also a helluva guardian who is doing her very best, is learning to lean on a support system for the first time all while battling her way to the top in a male dominated field AND managing her own traumas. Shes a force to be reckoned with.

I was so locked into every aspect of this story, but the blended family of it all on top of Roman being an absolute rock for Lexi so she doesn’t always have to be strong really hit me in the emotions while also serving the quintessential Helena humor.

You won’t want to miss what’s coming next either because it’s going to cause quite the stir for The Terror and I can’t wait.

- Hockey Romance
- Age Gap
- Single Guardian
- Single Dad
- Workplace Romance
- Coach x Player
- One Night Stand Turned More
- Second Chance
- Found Family
- Slow Burn
- Mutual Pining
- Forbidden

I felt so, so lucky when I got an ALC of If You Love Me!!! I love the Toronto Terror family and was dying to read If You Love Me after the epilogue for Dallas and Hemi's story and after reading the prologue novella, "If You Stay The Night," where we meet Lexi (FMC). I would definitely encourage you to read If You Stay The Night before to fully understand the connection Lexi and Roman had from the start. The tension was so clear between Roman and Lexi, so I knew I would love their story. Their chemistry is intense, but is arguably the least unhinged of the series - their relationship was so mature and their commitment to each other was swoonworthy!

I have loved Roman since the very first book in the series and knew he was going to be an amazing MMC! Roman is such a solid pillar to the team, but as he enters his final year as the Terror's goalie, he has a lot of life changes coming up. Roman deserved an HEA and he truly got one.

Lexi joining the badass babe brigade was everything! I loved how independent and impressive Lexi was. She was not only an incredible assistant coach for the Terror, but she was also a hardworking guardian to her young sisters.

Beyond this being good for the soul, if you are looking for a book that will make you physically laugh out loud and kick your feet from giggling with some classic Helena Hunting spice... then look. no. further. Stella Bloom & Stephen Dexter were absolutely incredible as the narrators! I loved how they gave a voice to Lexi and Roman, especially for some of those spicy scenes.

You should read this book if you like:
 Hockey Romance
 Two night stand to lovers
First female assistant coach & veteran goalie
FMC & MMC are parents; FMC has custody of her two sisters & MMC has a daughter (Roman's daughter is the FMC in book 2 - If You Want Me)
Gone for each other with lots of grand (and small) gestures
 Oh the spice 🌶

If You Love Me was a fantastic second chance romance, I loved it! It was incredibly entertaining with great characters and I was smiling and fanning myself the entire time. I loved the build as Roman and Lexi came together, I couldn’t get enough of all the tension, angst, and flirting as they found their way to an incredible happily ever after!

I have loved Roman since book one and was thrilled he was finally getting an HEA. I loved meeting Lexi and felt for her as I learned all about her past and struggles. I loved how hard she worked to make it in the hockey world and her determination. The moment when they meet again and reconnect was awesome. I loved them circling each other and how they fought their feelings as they got reacquainted. I could feel how much they wanted each other, but since there was the obstacle of Lexi being Roman’s coach, it created a nice amount of conflict. Roman’s pursuit of Lexi and all his flirting made me swoon. The sexual tension between them was palpable, it’s like they were vibrating with it. I loved the mild drama it created as they tried to stay away from each other. I loved that building chemistry between them, I was filled with anticipation for them to get together. When their passion finally explodes, it's through the roof steamy!

I loved Lexi’s relationship with her sisters and how she was there for them, and all the emotion happening because of those circumstances. I also loved how much Roman embraced her sisters and the bonds he formed with them. I loved the wonderful friend group that’s been established and how the Badass Babe Brigade embraced Lexi. I was thrilled to get to know more about Dred and how close she and Lexi became, I'm also super excited about who Dred will be paired up with. I love the camaraderie of the hockey team and the humor all the guys bring. I also fell completely in love with Conner Grace and was just as invested in learning what was up between him and Flip as I was for Roman and Lexi to connect.

I thought the development was excellent as Roman and Lexi navigated tricky waters to be together. I loved the different situations presented, I could feel the want and need between them and how hard it was to stay apart. This was sweet, fun, and sexy but also emotional, I thought it all balanced well. This was another incredible story in the Toronto Terror series and I can't wait for what's next!
