PURSUING FORTUNE, and the heart of the Noble Girl, the young scribe, Archippus, arrives in a city overflowing with opportunity but seething in prejudice. By wagering his companion's life in the fight arena against a Cyclops, Archippus amasses wealth while ignoring the insistence from his Airborne Counselor, that he is being called to a quest of immeasurable magnitude.
I have been writing since the age of nine and studied literature in college. I have been a waitress, a bartender, a business owner and an insurance claims manager. I have also been an equestrian, sailor, and an almost pilot. If I had unlimited power, I would end animal abuse, stop terrorism, and balance the national budget. My fantasy trilogy (and ten year project), “The Parables of Ancient Earth is now available. And my wish as an author is to affect lives for the better.
I received a complimentary copy of The Parables of Ancient Earth The Second Scroll: The Cyclops of Calidron via the author through Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Giveaways. Anything you read here is solely my opinion based upon reading said book. This story is part two of a trilogy. If you have not read scroll one I would recommend you read that book first. This book starts off with our main character, Archippus, being the same as he was in book one. This book is more focused on Archippus pursuing a fortune (by any means), which he does acquire. His goals are to get rich and powerfull, marry the noble girl and to find his sister. In the beginning Archippus, arrives in a city overflowing with opportunity but seething in prejudice. By wagering his companion's life in the fight arena against a Cyclops, Archippus amasses wealth while ignoring the insistence from his Airborne Counselor, that he is being called to a quest of immeasurable magnitude. Throughout the book I keep thinking he is going to see the light and do the right thing but he doesn’t. He even begins to soften a little, but then retorts to his old ways. But it’s not until the end of the book where he loses everything, when he learns the greatest lesson of all. I can’t wait to see if he has truly seen the light and will begin to walk the path to his true quest. We also learn a little more about the other charactesr as well as introduced to some new ones. It all comes full circle in my opinion. Archippus’s sister, Apphia also goes through a mini path to enlightenment herself. She finds out that there is some corruption is going on and there is an attempt on her life. This book is a great follow up. I can’t wait to read book three.
