Another freebie from the author's website. This one is really just for fun for the fans, it wouldn't do much for new readers. But female fans with crushes on Pritkin will be especially pleased. It's just a cute little story, and it provides a tiny bit on insight into the character as well. You'll want to read it on a color device so you can see the illustrations provided with the story, they're the best part. (I originally sent it to my kindle, then had to look at the pictures on another device.) It felt like a little love note from the author to the fans, a little gift because she knew we'd enjoy it. Very cute.

Reconozco que este fue divertido, pero sigo pensando que esta entretenidÃsima saga tiene demasiados relatos, que no es que estén mal per se, pero perfectamente se podrÃan haber incluÃdo en las novelas, como capÃtulos, que es lo que son: un capÃtulo. Organización aparte, este fue un relato muy divertido. No aporta nada, la verdad, pero pasé un buen (y breve) rato. Autores en GL Bis

A fun free short, short story. Cassie needs a favor from Augustine, he needs a model for his new line. Of course Cassie thinks Pritkin would be perfect, she just has to find the right look. It’s nice to see our favorite characters having a good time and not fighting for their lives.

This is a great little side story to the Cassie series. It really brings out an additional layer of depth to Pritkin and helps further the bond between him and Cassie. A great little read from start to finish. I found the end to be quite amusing.

A that falls in at 5.5 in the Cassandra Palmer urban fantasy series and revolves around the current Pythia, Cassie Palmer.
My Take
Oh, lol! This one is too funny. Pritkin would never be taken for a fashion plate, but that's the bribe when Augustine loses his model. And everyone jumps in on it, hunting down the look for Pritkin. Oh, man, ya gotta read this one for the fun and the fashion choices, lol!
Whew�*fanning my face*…that final choice was a doozy. Hmmm, I think I have to go back and take another look…maybe use it for a desktop picture, lol�
The Story
It's the eve of one of Augustine's fashion shows, and Cassie has a time travel problem. For some reason, people in the past don't take kindly to shorts and a tank top on a woman.
And Augustine is just the man to design the right outfit! Now, if she can just win this bet�
The Characters
Cassie Palmer is the Pythia no one wants. John Pritkin is half-incubus and half-human. He's also a war mage and Cassie's bodyguard. Billy Joe is a ghost attached to Cassie. Marco is her chief vampire bodyguard.
Caleb is a friend of Pritkin's and a fellow war mage. Jonas is Cassie's part-time magic teacher and the head of the Silver Circle.
Augustine is a truly talented clothing designer. Tacky in some ways and amazing in others. I adore reading about his designs � they're so much fun!
Rosier is Pritkin's father, Cassie's arch nemesis, and, oh yeah, a prince of the incubi, and a demon lord of Hell.
The Cover & Title
The cover is a crack-up with its casual businessman-look against a smoky gray background. Three empty black suits in white button-downs and ties standing in casual poses, waiting for the right "natural man" to be chosen. The title is a yellow swirl of flourishes and scrolls.
The title is urge, bet, and speculation. How would one go about "Updating Pritkin"?

Conto divertido sobre uma aposta que Cassie fez com o estilista Augustine, em que se Pritkin fosse o escolhido pelos clientes de Augustine como modelo das roupas dele, o estilista faria uma veste especial para as viagens do tempo de Cassie.
Pritkin obviamente não estava nada feliz com isso, mas o final... haha
É importante ler o conto no site da autora, pois ela nos concedeu imagens, que tornam a história curta ainda mais engraçada.

For many years I refused to read short stories. I am incredibly glad that I chose to break that drought with Karen Chance’s work. This author has a magical talent of fitting an entire novels worth of magic, action, tension romance etc. into a dynamite package that is the perfect length to read in your lunch break or while waiting for the train. Pritkin is also by far my favorite book boyfriend, so anything that gives insight into him is just my cup of tea!! Another marvelous read.

A great little short story that shows a fun side to the Cassie crew. When Cassie needs a new look from the ever temperamental Augustine, will Pritkin go along with her attempts to give him a make over? Or does he have an ace "up his sleeve"? Super funny, and the final result makes me smile.

A fun short story with a good ending. And the pictures were great. Not enough of Pritkin in it though, despite being about him.

This is a very short 10 page-ish, fun story. It's really for fans. The story even has fun pictures. It's fun to read these behind the scene like stories! On to the next Cassie story!
