TukTuk Cinema: A Tale of India, the Joy of Living, and 3000 kms on Forever-Breaking Scooter carrying a mobile cinema

Rate this book
In the spring of 2015, writer and traveler Robb MaciÄ…g set off on a one-of-a-kind journey through India, tracing the sacred path of the Ganges River. Balancing on his rickety Indian scooter, he rode through some of the most crowded and chaotic corners of the planet, with a video projector strapped to the back, an ancient laptop in his backpack, and a few dozen hours of Bolek and Lolek cartoons on hand.

His mission? To create pop-up cinemas in village schools and dusty orphanages—free screenings of beloved Polish animations for kids who had never seen a cartoon before. This is not just a travel book. It’s a warm, witty, and eye-opening portrait of India seen from the saddle of a scooter and the glow of a flickering projector.
Told with humor, affection, and a touch of self-deprecation, TukTuk Cinema is a story about giving, discovering, getting lost, and being found—by people, by places, and by purpose.

Perfect for fans of slow travel, unexpected adventures, and stories that stay with you long after the last page.
