Beware the blue moon, for on its eve a beast will come that only you can control.
That’s the prophecy that threatened what should have been a lovely weekend retreat for Lavanya Draculesti’s clients. Count of Love, the world’s first vampire dating service, is her business and her passion. When eight clients are ready to meet—and mate—she plans a weekend retreat at her ancestral home in Romania. Her volatile guests are thrilled with the arrangements. Until the prophecy comes true and a bizarre wolf attacks one of them.
Zev thought he knew—and hated—everything about vampires. However, to gain his families freedom from a vow of servitude to The Prince of Darkness he agrees to protect Lavanya, Vlad’s daughter, while she’s in Romania. The job isn’t an easy one, and Lavanya herself only makes it harder. After a second attempt on her life, Zev realizes that his own demons may be the greatest threat to her survival.
Although The Prince would be happy to kill him for it, Zev can’t resist the powerful attraction he feels for Lavanya. In more than two hundred years, he’s never met a vampire or a woman like her. Disregarding all logic, he hungers for her touch. But between Dracula, the witch, and the demon, he’ll be lucky to survive long enough to claim her.
For Lavanya, Zev awakens intense desires that defy her psychic powers and test her faith. With her new powers emerging and her loved ones in danger, Lavanya finally understands that controlling a beast is not the same as taming it. With her life and her heart in danger, Lavanya must take a leap of faith and choose between two evils to seize the love she craves.
I was raised on a small farm in the Midwest, at a time when there were only 3 television stations. Oh the horror!
Growing up miles away from any other families gave me the opportunity to hone my imagination and plenty of time to read. To say that I had an active imagination is a huge understatement and I have always had a fascination for magic, fantasy and the paranormal.
After earning a bachelor degree in Criminology I married my college sweetheart and traded farm country for the sugar white beaches of the Florida Panhandle. Now I spend my time writing and taking care of my three children, two dogs, one guinea pig and my terrific husband.
I bought this paperback from the author at an author signing in Destin Florida. I am a part of the Review Team @ The Paranormal Bookshelf.
Category: paranormal, vampires, other paranormal genres involved Spoilers: NONE
When I met this author at the signing, I didn't know anything about this book. Just one of those walking around and hey that looks interesting kind of things. Well, I finally got the time to begin the book and I must say, I loved it! In fact now that I am finished with it, I am really sad about it. Definitely a book hangover book. You can't help but want to continue the story. The characters are that addicting. The main character is Lavanya, the daughter of Dracula himself and this book is all about her, her friends, a mysterious stranger and her dad. Like I said, an amazing group of characters. They are well developed and how the author opens pieces of their story all throughout the book is just amazing. I have to say, I cannot pick a favorite character because they were all so much fun. The author did an amazing job building the story line and the plot is definitely original which is always a big plus. I loved the cover of the book as well. It gave me a great reference for what the author was going for when describing the leading lady. There were a few (very few) typos but nothing that would take away from the flow of the book itself. As a paranormal book junkie, I have to say this is now among my favorites list. So if you haven't checked it out, please do so. You won't regret it. I gave this book 5 stars!
This is the first book that I have read from Author Lynne Stevie. I gave this book 4 stars.
The reason I only gave 4 stars is that it took me a little bit to really get into the story. The story grabbed onto me about 25% into the book. I really didn't know what to expect from this book and was surprised by how much I really did enjoy it.
It is a vampire story with a lot of other paranormal creatures in it too! I love me a good vamp book!! One of the biggest things that I enjoyed is that it took a lot of things from long ago and brought them into the future, and it flowed very well. There weren't any awkward moments of where that doesn't fit there or that should be changed there. It was full of mystery and a who done it kind of feel and keeps you guessing right up to the end.
The chemistry between Zev and Lavanya is off the charts! These two together are funny, and sweet and HOT! I loved them. Couldn't get enough of how Alpha male he was. I hope there will be more in this series with these two. Thank you Lynne for a wonderful story !
I'm surprised how much I loved this book. Only because it was about Dracula.. ok it was really about his half human daughter Lavanya. Vlad has been sleeping for 50 years after the death of Lavanya's movie star mother . Lavanya has been making a life for herself away from her father's world and castle. Until her business brings her back home. Lavanya is the owner and operator of the only known Vampire dating service, and she needs her father's castle for the couples to meet and greet. While there she is put in danger.
Zev hates all vampires because as a new born baby he was doomed to die by the hands of the villagers his mother lived in. With her dying breath after giving birth to Zev, she asked her mother to take Zev to the Prince (of darkness) for protection. Vlad only saved him because he believed that one day Zev would save his daughter. Zev is part human and part Demon as a result of a rape, and since birth bonded to Vlad as his pet. Vlad tells Zev he can have his and his grandmother's freedom if he protects Lavanya from the danger that is coming.
p.s. I could read the books of the couples in this story getting together as long as Zev is still there, it would make an interesting series.
***I RECEIVED A COPY OF THIS BOOK FROM THE AUTHOR IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***
Between Two Evils is a good book and I enjoyed the story. While usually not a fan of vampire novels, this one surprised me.
Ms. Stevie managed to write a story that was well balanced with drama, romance, sex, action, mystery and thrills. It seems as if many writers of paranormal romance are falling into "hot and steamy sex" is the main focus of this genre. In this reviewer's opinion, sex is not a plot. This was a good story with sex as just one component of this book.
The characters are well developed and easy to relate to. I caught myself thinking, "kiss her you fool" and enjoying the development of the romance. I wasn't sure who the villain was until the latter part of the story and that was great as it kept me reading when I should have been sleeping at 2:56 a.m.
I can happily recommand this book to paranormal romance readers and readers that are looking for a first try of the story paranormal romance genre. KUDOS Ms. Stevie on a story well told.
This is an exciting and thrilling paranormal love story. It really had everything one can ask for. The plot is not only well thought through but also extremely well executed in a very lively writing style that keeps you reading. Lynne is an excellent writer and knows how to draw you in and only lets you guys what she wants you to know.
The main characters are an incredibly well balanced mix portraying vampires and the paranormal in a new light. Let's face it, that is not easy to do because it is one of the most written about paranormal subject. The characters are well developed and you can't help but cheer for them. Lavanya is an amazing female heroin and Kev het perfect counter part.
This is extremely well written and I love every second of it. I can only recommend that, especially for lovers of the paranormal who like a little romance mixed in.
I have received this book from the author for an honest review.
When I met Stevie at NITS 2015, I knew she'd become one of my favorites. Between two evils proves me right! Never mind the coolest names, ever in Vanya and Zev, the connection between the two is amazing! A classic tale of "papa don't preach" and Macbeth made this book an instant re-read. I wouldn't advise anyone to read this around people cause there were plenty of foul language outbursts from me! Lol! Enjoy!
I really enjoyed this vampire book. I found it to have many twist and turns in the story line. The author made me want to keep this reading this book until the end. It first I thought it might be just another vampire book but I was wrong. This was a new spin on things. I enjoy new twists! * This book was given to me from the author in exchange for an honest review*
This was my first book by this Author ... It will not be my last!
I had a hard time getting into the beginning. .. for me it was just to many people to keep up with right off the bait. But when the action started and the cave part hit.... I was GLUED and I mean stayed up all night to finished Glued. I was hoping for more at the end but maybe we will get a book 2 ?
This is such a good book. I am not normally a person who is head over heals for "supernatural" novels, but this one has an amazing story line that kept me on my toes to the end. The main character is a 1/2 vamp and 1/2 human princess diva who runs a vamp dating service. When things get hairy her daddy sends a 1/2 demon and 1/2 human/ witch to protect her. He is rough around the edges, but the perfect match for her! The books goes thru all the struggles they face in a weekend that no one could have ever planned for. In the end relationships are made, blood is shed, lines are crossed, lifetime bonds are broken, no one can be trusted and everyone learns about themselves and the ones they love. The story line is very complex, but easy to follow. I can only imagine the time and effort when into this book to make it filled with enough information that you can easily follow it, but with out bogging you down with needless information. I would highly recommend this to anyone. It was a great read.
