Neal Shusterman

Reread with a few friends at Buddies Books and Baubles in JanuaryFeb 2016, we got sidetracked, it happens.
This is still my favorite completed YA series to date. The entire thing is awesome and even the second time through everything held up so well.

I thought, I couldn’t be shocked anymore�.
I thought, nothing Neal Shusterman says or does will surprise me now�
I thought, there was nothing more horrible than the things I’ve already seen in this series...
I thought, I knew who to hate and who to love in the story�.
I thought, I was prepared�.
I was wrong. So…so…wrong
I’ve been severely disappointed with dystopian novels lately. They all seem to start out strong and then just dwindle or they are exactly the same as everything else out thereAligent, Requiem. However, the Unwind series is a true sparkling diamond in a sea of cubic zirconia. Neal Shusterman lines up all the pieces in the story, sets the tumblers in motion and much like a game of Plinko I had no idea where the pieces would finally come to rest. Undivided is an AMAZING wrap up to the Unwind series. This is the series you recommend first when someone asks if you know of any good Dystopian or YA novels.
Just like the other books in the series it is told in the multiple PoV fashion mostly from the viewpoints of Connor, Risa, Lev and Cam but also there are others from Hayden, Argent, Una , Starkey and more peppered in. It is amazing the full scope of the story you feel you are getting from seeing it from all of these perspectives. The villains are so powerfully portrayed, I really felt like I understood their motives and some of their craziness.
Starkey believes he is invincible. He believes he is more than just destined for greatness, but that greatness is owed to him, and every one of these “victories� makes him believe it more and more. The Stork Lord. Hayden’s epithet is more on-target then even he realizes, for Starkey truly does see himself as royalty reaching for divinity. A chosen one with the pride and privilege of a god.
The heroes are portrayed equally as honestly with all of their attributes and faults on display as well. No one is perfect but everyone is trying to do the best they can with what they have.
Conner is not the same troubled boy he was in Unwind. He has really grown up over that last two years of running. He is easy to like and I am so happy that he and Risa were finally together again for the majority of this book. The love story between them is truly fantastic, well developed and beautiful. There has been no insta love here.
There are a lot of really horrible disturbing moments in this book, but they are written in such a way that while yes, they are still disturbing I couldn’t help but read on, enthralled by the story. There are also as many truly touching heartfelt moments. I teared up more than once with the emotion of those moments. Even characters I thought I could not feel any sympathy toward somehow were able to elicit very confused feeling from me. I hated them but the events of a few situations really made me feel all the more sorry for them.
A revolution is building but for change to happen a bunch of things will all need to fall into place at the same time. So many issues on the ballot for the election that have to do with unwinding and Proactive Citezenry are ramping up their propaganda campaigns. This is one of the things I really like about these novels, the way that advertising is used to show how different organizations are really promoting the same ideas and really all working for the same organization even though they seem to be promoting different things. It is incredibly smart.
At the beginning of every section there are also references to actual stories from today that if taken just a little farther to a slight extreme could lead down this road. It is amazing to think that some of the stuff in the book is not that far from reality. There are also some radio broadcasts being put out by Hayden trying to ramp up support. He is slowly exposing Proactive Citizenry and the Juvenile Authority for the monsters they really are a little at a time in hopes that the people will have had enough and join in a single voice.
“Y’know, if I wanted to make sure that the Juvenile Authority had greater and greater support, I would trick angry teenagers into blowing themselves up, and then blame the angry teenagers! No mess, no bother. Well, quite a lot of mess, but you get my point.
All the little touches of the radio broadcasts, advertisements and articles from today and part of what makes this story so special and gives it just that little extra something.
The story ties comes together so well and I really sat on the edge of my seat near the end so worried for all of the characters I love. There are some happy endings, there are some endings and there are some new beginnings.
Our heroes Connor, Risa, Lev and Cam will all go to some extraordinary lengths so that no other troubled teen, ward of the state or tithe will ever suffer the fate of running from the law and the threat of being unwound. One of them will risk everything they are just for that hope. I’m sad to leave all these characters behind but I know that this is one of those storied that will stick with me and I will read time and time again throughout my life and get something different from it each time.
I don’t read much YA anymore but books like these are why I still bother to read this genre at all. It is the journey that you want to see in a YA novel, but rarely get. The series is complete so no time like the present to jump in.

This series is supremely fucked up and emotionally exhausting (don't even get me STARTED ON THIS FUCKING BOOK) and fucking brilliant and I will never stop thinking about it. What an amazing way to end an amazing series.

Like where do I even start with this series?
First, let's begin with this because this book deserves one:
We all know that's what you're thinking.
Second, let's continue with one of the main reasons (there are many) why I LOVE this book (and series) so much.
1) The characters, both the "heroes" and the "villains." (quotations because there are no such labels in this series YAAAAAS)
- All of them are believable <- because they are HUMAN (when I say human, I mean with real emotions with messy lives with real flaws and strengths who are trying to make sense of the world that they are in)
- All of them have stories <- which Neal Shusterman beautifully shares and balances -> you connect, get to know, and fall in love with each character
- Even the bad guys have stories that you connect with and understand why they do what they do (even as you shudder and get chills all over your body)
- The individual matters ... NOT just the main characters or actors or POVs covered by the story, but the "common" everyday invisible civilian/official/AWOL/gardener/parent/person ... and it is BEAUTIFUL
- And on and on. aka they are amazing:
2) The world building and masterful storytelling
- the masterful weaving in of tiny stories, tiny parts that are seemingly insignificant, but when brought together, they create something beautiful (do you see what Neal Shusterman did there? re: actual topic covered by the series)
- ex: I am reading something and then I realize that it is an ACTUAL, real-life article that can be read -> augments the reading experience and makes the dystopian world that much more realistic and terrifying, but also hopeful (becuz people can be good and awesome) -> it does what fiction is SUPPOSED to do which is supposed to reflect and reveal our own realities, histories, and stories (YES YES YES NEAL SHUSTERMAN YES YES YES)
- you literally get sucked into the world and you can't get out of it until like never (whoops) because as you flip or click (like me - shoutout to my computer) the last page, you carry that world and the messages it gives with you as you go about your life (like what fiction is supposed to do!!)
3) The message
- You know you've hit the goldmine of a book/series when it not only is fun/amazing/keeps you on the edge of your seat but when it also appeals and challenges your thoughts and empathy and really engages with you as a reader
- Also engages with your morality and questions and guides you through your questioning like any good book should do while not giving you all the answers
- I love the message(s) in this book so much. It kept me smiling, palpitating, crying, laughing, crying again, and squealing in glee/crying the whole way through because it shows you humanity, both the good and the bad, and the potential for both that we all carry
4) so much more that I could drone on about but will bore you
So basic moral of the story (heh), READ THE BOOK. READ THE SERIES. GO GO GO. You've heard me!

Short review:
I am unwinding in the inside.
My thoughts are in a divided state and I can't make myself rewind them.
This story is too powerful for words.
I just know that I LOVE this series.
I know that I love...
I... I know that...

Full review:
There are very few books so powerful that can follow you into your dreams. That leave an imprint on your soul. That are so dreadful and horrifying, but in the same time so beautiful and completely mesmerising.
And this time around it was true, it was not a wish of sorts, not a simple thought that just comes and goes. After reading it (this whole series), I had the more horrifying night ever � dreaming of unwinds and AWOLs, leaping back into consciousness only to be swept away into another desperate dream, where someone would be divided to pieces and I would endlessly run for my life.
It’s no wonder actually, as I’ve been spending around 4-5 days with the series, so my mind was pretty much overfilled with this story, but still.. I confirm that (indeed) this book has the power to haunt you even in your sleep.
It’s hard to get to the end of a series when you love it as much as I loved this one. It pains me to be over with it.
But truth being told, it was exhausting, emotionally draining! My heart wouldn’t have been able to take any more pain or suspense, and I think that the characters felt just the same.
Everything came into place. Everything made complete sense. All their small fights had an impact on the world around, but the way it resonated � well, that seemed to be a lot greater than the sum of its parts. They probably never dreamed of achieving this much. They just wanted a chance to� be.
If the first book was created as a standalone, the last 3 books come hand in hand. You can’t have one without the others, you can’t see the big picture without reading them all. It started as the story of Risa, Lev and Connor. It ended as the story of so many more.
All those people who didn’t believe in unwinding (/anymore), all those people who needed and wanted things to change, all those people who were guilty in a way or another, all those people that had a handful of letters written in blood, even the world itself was there to watch them take the last steps in this journey � and it was marvellous.
Without any of them, the story wouldn’t have been the same, the ending wouldn’t have been as great. Their individual fights, their sacrifices, their strength and hope for a better world was what drove them on this path.
There are not enough words in this world to express the immensity and the beauty of it all.
I will miss these characters dearly, I feel like knowing them better than I know my own friends and I cared for them so much through this story. They are part of my life now and I refuse to say goodbye.
Conclusion:
I wish I could unwind time so I could experience this book from every possible angle, not passing through the moment, but living it.

The biggest criminally underrated YA series ever written.
This was a damn near-perfect conclusion to the series and nothing would’ve made me happier than to give it its well deserved 5 stars except that I only wish it didn’t conclude all too neatly, in particular with regards to some of the main characters.
Save for that tiny, VERY TINY drawback, Perfection.

"عدم کنترل روی آزادی، به اندازه� اسیر بودن طاقتفرساس�"
اعتراف میکن� (به سختی) که قبلا اصلا برام نویسنده� کتابی که میخون� مهم نبود. اینطور� که حتی انگار چشمم نمیدی� که این کتاب رو کی نوشته و اصلا شاید من قبلا ازش چیزی هم خونده باشم!😶
اما مدت زیادیه متوجه شدم گاهی حتی نویسندگان هستن که منو به سمت کتابی فرا میخونن� نه خود کتابه� ✨�
"نیل شوسترمن" از اون دسته نويسندههایی� که خودش منو به سمتش کتابش کشوند. من تجربه� بینظیر� از سهگانه� #داس_مرگ داشتم. بارها درمورد ایدئولوژیش و حتی مسیر جریان داستان صحبت کردم و به وفور نشون دادم چقدر برام مهم بوده اون مجموعه😍😢
و حالا بعد از یکما� که از اتمام آخرین جلد سریِ Unwind (گسسته) میگذره� میخوا� بگم واقعا نگران سرنوشتِ جامعها� شدم که از هر تکنولوژیای� یه اهرم فشار میساز� که قشر کثیر جامعه(مردم) رو به نابودی بکشونه!
این چهارگانه� توی دسته� علمی تخیلی قرار میگیره� و به وضوح میتونی� ژانر دیستوپیا رو داخلش مشاهده کنین! همچنین با تهمایهها� بیوپانکی! یعنی چیزهایی رو قراره تجربه کنین که شاید در آينده� نزدیک ما اتفاق بیوفتن🥺
⭕داستا� مجموعه� «گسسته»، درمورد آینده� تکنولوژیها� افسارگسیختهس�. تکنولوژیهای� که به قصد کمک به جامعه� بشری ساخته شدن، ولی به مرور زمان و توی دستها� آدمهای� که تشنه� قدرت و ثروتن، به سلاحها� مرگبار تبدیل شدن...!
یادمه توی کتاب سرای آسمان و نفس، کرکتر کورمک یه دیالوگ معروف داشت که میگف�: «من هیچوقت به اون هدف شک ندارم، بلکه به آدمهای� که اونو جلو میبر� شک دارم»
جملها� که دقیقا برای این مجموعه� صدق میکنه� یه مجموعه� مریض و تاریک، با چشمها� خمار و بیروح� که داره از لای کلماتش نگاهت میکن� و میپرس� «تو چی هستی؟»
⭕قصه� درمورد قیام نوجوانهایی� که فشارهای اقتصادی و اجتماعی جامعه، عدم اطمینان از آینده، کمبود کیفی و کمّی وضعیت آموزش و...، مجبورشون کرده دست به رفتارهای ناهنجاری بزنن که نه ریشه در کودکیشون داره، نه حاصلِ خشونتها� ذاتیشونه� بلکه فقط تحت تاثیر "شرایط کنونی" ـه. طوری که برچسب "اصلاحناپذی�" بهشون میخور� و "مستحق گسستگی"! و اینطوری� که جامعه و والدین، از مسئولیتی که متوجهشو� هست شونه خالی میکن� و همهچ� رو گردن «خشونت دوران نوجوانی» و «وحشیگر� تینیجری» میانداز�.
⚜️«کانــر»، نوجوانِ اصلاحناپذیر� جامعه� قراره گسسته بشه... و رضایتنامهها� گسستگی توسط پدر و مادرش امضا شده🙁
"تو نمیمیری� زندها�. فقط اعضای تو دیگه به صورت یکپارچ� ارزشی ندارن، ولی به صورت پراکنده، چرا! و در اختیار کسانی قرار میگیر� که بهش احتیاج دارن. کسانی که انسانها� مفیدتری از تو از آب درمیان"
این چیزیه که رسانهه� در ستایش عمل گسستگی منتشر میکن�. چیزی که بارها و بارها و به زبانها� مختلف و امتیازهای گوناگون دارن بیانش میکن� و کاری کردن که والدین، به «گسستگی»، به عنوان یه "راهح�" برای ناسازگاریِ فرزندانشو� نگاه کنن.
چرا که نه؟ بچها� که آزارت مید� رو گسسته کن، و وجدانت رو راضی نگهدا� که اعضای اون، توی بدن یکی دیگه، مفیدتره😑
کانر باید فرار کنه. این رو بارها و بارها به خودش گفته... و به تنها کسی که براش مهم بود، یعنی آریانا🗨�
ولی وقتی آریانا به طرز عجیبی پشتشو خالی کرد و تنهاش گذاشت، کانر مجبور میش� با واقعیت رو به رو که نه، گلاویز بشه. و تبدیل بشه به مشهورترین فراریِ گسستهها� یعنی «فراری آکرون»
و این تازه شروع ماجراهای وحشتناک فراری آکرونه!
⚜️«ریسا»، توی يتيمخون� بزرگ شده! اون یه دختر بااستعداد در زمینه� موسیقی و پیانو و همچنین انعطافپذی� در برابر مشکلاتشه... ولی چیزی که نمیتون� تغییری توش ایجاد کنه، افزایش� چشمگیر جمعیت بچهها� يتيمخون� و تبعاً کمبود امکانات و رفاه اونهاس�. طوری که مدیران يتيمخون� تصمیم میگیر� بچهها� نزدیک به سنِ گسستگی رو به کمپها� گسستگی انتقال بدن. فقط یک اشتباه،
یک خطا،
و تمام!!
«متاسفم، اما تو گسسته خواهی شد ریسا»
و وقتی سرپرستِ يتيمخونه� بخاطر اشتباه کوچک ریسا در زمینه� اجرای موسیقی توی یکی از مراسمات مهم، تصمیم میگیر� اون رو به کمپ گسستگی منتقل کنه، ریسا متوجه میش� که نمیتون� اینطور� با زندگیش خداحافظی کنه. نه به این سادگی... نه به این مزخرفی🥺
⚜️«لِـو»، پسر دهم یه خانواده مذهبی و کاتولیکـه. اون از ابتدای زندگیش برای گسسته شدن تربیت شده و هدفی جز این نداره. و البته مشکلی هم با این موضوع نداره!
پسر نازپرورده و لوسِ خانواده� کالدِر، در جشن تولد سیز��هسالگیش� درحالی که ١٣ سال از زندگیش رو در ناز و نعمت بزرگ شده و برای آرمانها� دینی خانوادها� تعلیم دیده، قراره فردا با لیموزین مخصوص کمپها� گسستگی، به اونج� منتقل بشه تا بتونه آیین دینیشو� رو ادا کنه. چون لِو، یه «انفاقی» ـه... یعنی یکده� از مال و اموال خانواده😑
ولی همهچی� به این سادگی تموم نمیش�...!
مجموعه� گسسته، آروم شروع میش�. توی جلد اول روند به نسبت کندی داره، و شاید ارتباط گرفتن باهاش سخت باشه. دوستی میگف� «این مجموعه ادای یانگادال� رو درمیاره درحالی که اینطو� نیست»
پس با دید باز سراغش برین❤️
نویسنده خیلی حرفشو واضح زده. پلات واقعا منسجمه. من همیشه از اینک� خیلی از نویسندهها� مسیرشون و حتی خودشون رو توی خط و جریان داستان گم میکنن� نمیدون� قدم بعدی رو چطور بردارن، داستان رو به زور توی اوجها� کاذب و آرکها� بینتیج� و هیجانها� بیدلی� خلاصه میکنن� میترسید�. ولی وقتی یک چنين ماجراهای تر و تمیز، شسته رفته و اصولیا� رو میخونم� انگار یه جون به جونام اضافه میشه😢�
بخشهای� از داستان که به توصیف و حتی شرح ماجراهای چندش و عصبیکننده� حقهها� کثیفِ دستها� پشتِ پرده� گسستگی پرداخته واقعا نیازمند یه اعصابِ آرومه. اینک� قرار باشه این حجم از پستی و پلشتیِ جوامع و اقشار سودجویی رو هضم کنیم که با استفاده از خطای دید رسانهه� و تحمیل شرایط طاقتفرس� به مردم، اونه� رو بین گزینه� «بد» و «بدتر» ناگریز بذارن و مردم حتی فراموش کنن که اصلا «چرا باید گزینها� وجود داشته باشه که انتخاب کنیم؟»
میدون�...
هر بخشی از داستان، شرح یه وضعیته که احساس میکن� تجربها� کردیم. یا حداقل نزدیک به تجربه� کردنش هستیم (:
نویسنده، فساد بعضی از ارگانها� خصوصی دولتی� رو نشون داده، و ثابت کرده «قرار نیست وقتی پای قدرت و ثروت وسط باشه، کسی نگران جان شما باشه»
خیلی جاها اون ارگانه� از استیصال مردم و بدبختی اونه� سوءاستفاده کرده، و راهکار هایی داده که به ظاهر به نفعشونه� اما در باطن فقط جامعه رو به شکافها� نابودی میکشون�!
مثل یه کالبد خالی از روح، یا یه عروسک خیمهشبباز� که نمیتون� از عقلش (اگر داشته باشه) استفاده کنه😑🙃
نثر داستان واقعا شیواست. نویسنده خیلی تمیز مینویس�. از عبارتهای� استفاده میکن� که واقعا به ادبیات نوشتارش علاقمند میشی😍😢تشبیها� عاقلانها� داره، و همچنین دلت میخوا� بعد از یک تراژدی دردناک، بغضت رو خالی کنی...!
فضای خشونتبا� زیادی نداره، ولی باز هم خالی از اون نیست. بارها با حماقتها� شخصیته� عصبانی شدم. از ریسکه� و فشارهایی که تحمل میکردن� شادیها� کوچک و بزرگشون� قیامه� و پیروزیه� و حتی به هیولا تبدیلشدنهاشون�
همه� و همه در بستر داستان برام معنی پیدا کردن و یادآور شدن که «شرایط گاهی میتون� از کنترل خارج بشه و تو هم به تبع، کنترل خودت رو از دست بدی»
موقعیتها� زیادی پیش اومد توی داستان که نفسم بند اومد، بغض کردم، دلم سوخت، چشمام به کتاب میخ شد و در نهایت، برگشتم به سطح روح خودم و احساس سنگینی کردم.
ماجراهای ریسا و کانر و لِو، گاهی در کنار هم و گاهی مستقل از هم، جلو میر� و این بین، دهه� شخصیت جدید وارد میش� که تیپ و استایل کرکتر هر کدومش، نیازمند دقت و تحلیل مجزاست که قطعا از حوصله� شما خارجه، ولی «کامو کامپری» قطعا میتون� درخشانترین� اونه� باشه. پسری که با یه خلأ بهدنی� اومد، تربیت شد، و در نهایت تبدیل به چیزی شد که فکرش رو نمیکر� بتونه بشه🙃
فضای دردناک و کنترلشده� فکرهای کامو، ترس از واقعی نبودن، شک و تردیدش نسبت به جسم و روحی که نمیدونس� کِی قراره با هم سازگار بشن، اضطراب و نگرانی از بزرگشدن� حفره� سیاهی که توی وجودش بود و حتی نمیتونس� سر و صدای بدنشو خاموش کنه، احساس کمبود، فشار، احساس نیاز به دوستداشتهشد� نه به عنوان یک کالا، بلکه انسان! همه و همه باعث شدن دلم بخواد دستمو دراز کنم؛ از داستان بکشمش بیرون و بغلش کنم🥺🥺
چپترهای مربوط به کامو منو گاهی خیلی احساساتی میکر�.
نویسنده فضای فکری آدم رو خیلی بد بهم میریز�... انگار با یک چنکگ میوفته به جانِ روح و روانت و تو مجبوری دوباره تیکهها� روحتو به هم چسب بزنی و از دور به شکل و شمایل بد ریخت خودت نگاه کنی، بلکه خودتو بشناسی...
مدام در طول داستان با خودم فکر میکرد� «ارزش من در چیه؟»
«در مجموعه اعضای بدنم؟ ذهنم؟ فکرم؟ خاطراتم؟»
یا اصلا «خاطرات من در نهایت، وقتی عضوی از بدنم رو از دست میدم� با اون ناپدید میش� یا میمونه� اگر ناپدید میشه� پس یعنی من هیچوقت اون عضو رو نداشتم؟ اگر میره� پس یعنی هر عضو، خاطره� مستقلی داره و به صورت یکپارچه معنیدا� نیست؟»
مدام به این فکر میکرد� که هویت من چطوری دستخوش تغییر میشه� چطور روح و جسمم آنچنان پیچیده درهم تنیده شدن که نمیتون� جداییشو� رو تصور کنم. چطور میش� خاطرات رو با خودت بُرد، وقتی حتی نمیدون� اونه� کجا مخفی شدن؟ توی دستهات� چشمهات� ذهن یا حتی لحظههات�
من برای این درهمریختگ� و مغزی که مجبور میش� به «خودش» فکر کنه احترام خیلی زیادی قائلم😢
و برام مهمه که در نهایت بدونم به صورت یکپارچه� چجور آدمی هستم.
بنظرم این کتاب تاحدی تونست به سوالات ذهنم جواب بده... تاحدی که بدونم روح و جسمم میتون� یکی باشن، اگر من به واقعی بودنم باور داشته باشم.

ماجراهای ریسا و کانر و لِو، گاهی در کنار هم و گاهی مستقل از هم، جلو میر� و این بین، دهه� شخصیت جدید وارد میش� که تیپ و استایل کرکتر هر کدومش، نیازمند دقت و تحلیل مجزاست که قطعا از حوصله� شما خارجه، ولی «کامو کامپری» قطعا میتون� درخشانترین� اونه� باشه. پسری که با یه خلأ بهدنی� اومد، تربیت شد، و در نهایت تبدیل به چیزی شد که فکرش رو نمیکر� بتونه بشه🙃
فضای دردناک و کنترلشده� فکرهای کامو، ترس از واقعی نبودن، شک و تردیدش نسبت به جسم و روحی که نمیدونس� کِی قراره با هم سازگار بشن، اضطراب و نگرانی از بزرگشدن� حفره� سیاهی که توی وجودش بود و حتی نمیتونس� سر و صدای بدنشو خاموش کنه، احساس کمبود، فشار، احساس نیاز به دوستداشتهشد� نه به عنوان یک کالا، بلکه انسان! همه و همه باعث شدن دلم بخواد دستمو دراز کنم؛ از داستان بکشمش بیرون و بغلش کنم🥺🥺
چپترهای مربوط به کامو منو گاهی خیلی احساساتی میکر�.
نویسنده فضای فکری آدم رو خیلی بد بهم میریز�... انگار با یک چنکگ میوفته به جانِ روح و روانت و تو مجبوری دوباره تیکهها� روحتو به هم چسب بزنی و از دور به شکل و شمایل بد ریخت خودت نگاه کنی، بلکه خودتو بشناسی...
مدام در طول داستان با خودم فکر میکرد� «ارزش من در چیه؟»
«در مجموعه اعضای بدنم؟ ذهنم؟ فکرم؟ خاطراتم؟»
یا اصلا «خاطرات من در نهایت، وقتی عضوی از بدنم رو از دست میدم� با اون ناپدید میش� یا میمونه� اگر ناپدید میشه� پس یعنی من هیچوقت اون عضو رو نداشتم؟ اگر میره� پس یعنی هر عضو، خاطره� مستقلی داره و به صورت یکپارچه معنیدا� نیست؟»
مدام به این فکر میکرد� که هویت من چطوری دستخوش تغییر میشه� چطور روح و جسمم آنچنان پیچیده درهم تنیده شدن که نمیتون� جداییشو� رو تصور کنم. چطور میش� خاطرات رو با خودت بُرد، وقتی حتی نمیدون� اونه� کجا مخفی شدن؟ توی دستهات� چشمهات� ذهن یا حتی لحظههات�
من برای این درهمریختگ� و مغزی که مجبور میش� به «خودش» فکر کنه احترام خیلی زیادی قائلم😢
و برام مهمه که در نهایت بدونم به صورت یکپارچه� چجور آدمی هستم.
بنظرم این کتاب تاحدی تونست به سوالات ذهنم جواب بده... تاحدی که بدونم روح و جسمم میتون� یکی باشن، اگر من به واقعی بودنم باور داشته باشم.

What the fuck is a "dystology"? I have no clue.. Is this even a real word??!! Apparently not.. But upon googling it I discovered that there will be a FOURTH book in the series!!
...maybe more, who knows? The word "dystology" holds many mysteries... o_O
But you know what I just realized? I own the first two books and they specifically say "unwind trilogy" now the last two are gonna say "dystology" and it's going to haunt me to the rest of my days... OH MAN. OH GOD. OH MAN.
I need a couple days to process this. Wow.
I don't know why it took me so long to finally finish this series, but I'm glad I finally got around to it. Because dang, this last book was incredible. Talk about an amazing series finale. It's terrifying, intense, disturbing, but ultimately uplifting. As always, Neal Shusterman's world-building, plotting, and characters are just genius.

REVIEW FREE OF SPOILERS FOR THE PREVIOUS BOOKS.
Unwind to me has always been known because it's one of the best dystopia series I've ever read. Mainly, it's because its realism is overwhelming - so realistic it's almost painful - and it continued that way throughout the four books.
First, the subject matter in the book is not so far from reality. I'm not saying we're close to parents giving away their children to the authorities so they can have them unwound (split their body parts without killing them). I'm talking more about organ trafficking and such. The way that is portrayed in the book is disturbing to the point of scary.
My second reason for saying this is one of the most realistic dystopias is because nothing is sugar-coated. The author is not afraid of describing youngsters' deaths and he's also not afraid of having both beloved and hated characters unwound.
The Unwind world is full with merciless people, selfish people, cynics, monsters (not in the literal sense), and it's so damn human. Our best and worst qualities are present here.
Furthermore, the realism of the series doesn't extend only to the world - it also goes as far as the character development. Children are forced to mature before they're teenagers, teenagers are forced to abandon their studies and turn into fugitives, 17-year-olds have to learn to be in the head of a rebellion which has the odds to lose, etc.
That's in general, but our main characters also have to undergo lots of changes. They're clearly not the same they were when the series started. Some lost their innocence, and they're surrounded with darkness. The decisions they make are less childish and more intelligent.
I can speak like that of everyone in the book because we have a complete view of all the events - there are lots of POVs. Worry not, though. All the POVs were well-written and believable.
To add more realism to all, at the beginning of each part of the book came sneak peeks of striking news (from real life) about themes related to what was just happening in the book. For example, about the organ traffic I mentioned before. It made my experience all the more satisfactory and... disturbing, may I say.
As this is a final book, I must comment a little on the ending without spoiling it. It was not disappointing. Perhaps a little brighter than I would have wanted, but good nonetheless. It's not entirely enclosing because it leaves room for more story, but it's not so open either.
In the end, I'm very glad of having tried the first book in this series 4 years ago. It was a long journey, but it was very worth it.

This book was intense! I stayed up almost all night to finish it and was just so worried about my favorite characters - Lev, Risa and of course Connor.
Shusterman has the ability to surprise me - just when I think the story is going one way....he changes it up - which I really like. I did guess a few things, but the ending really surprised me.
This was a great series - I don't stick with too many, but this one had me from the first book!

آیا مخالفانی نسبت به این سیستم وجود داره؟ بله. آیا صداشون شنیده میشه� نه! چرا؟ مشخصه. کسایی که قدرت دارن همه از این سازوکار سود میبر�. دولت، کلهگندهها� نهادهای خصوصی. هرکسی این وسط سهم خودش رو میگیر� و کیه که جلوی منفعت شخصی� رو سد کنه؟ رسانهه� همه پر شدن از تبلیغ برای گسستگی و به نفع گسستگی. لایحهها� گسستگی هرروز دارن زیاد و زیادتر میش� و بستن راه این موج سختت�. ولی اگه یه راه پایان وجود داشته باشه چی؟ اگه بشه اعضای اهدایی انسان رو جز از طریق گسستگی تامین کرد؟ میش� ابر قدرت ها کنار زد؟ میش� به این موج قتل بچهه� پایان داد؟
� آنه� آگهیها� بیشتری تبلیغ میکنن� تا جامعه را سردرگم و گیج کنند. آیا مردم واقعا آنقد� گوسفند هستند که به این سادگی گول می خورند؟ شاید؛ یا شاید به دلیل چنین اخبار ضدونقیضی، مغز مردم از کار میافت�. شاید هدف همین است. �
این جلد، داستان فاجعهه� بود. ماجرای پرت شدن از پرتگاههای� که هرگز در طول سه جلد قبل به وجود داشتنشون فکر نمیکردی�. هر فصلش باعث یه سکته� قلبی میشد� یه حمله� عصبی. و آیا پایان کتاب تونست تموم اون شوکه� رو جبران کنه؟ خب، از نظر من نه.
نویسنده اونقد� قوی داستان رو پیش برد و اونقد� مشکل درست کرد که انگار توی حلشون موند. این حجم از شخصیت و این حجم از اتفاق تعداد صفحه� بیشتری رو میطلبی� تا داستان توی یه نقطه� اوج جذاب تموم بشه؛ نه چنین صحنه� از رمق افتادها�.
ناراحتم چون اون حجم از پتانسیل حیف شد. ناراحتم چون شخصیتها� محبوبم لایق سرانجام بهتری بودن و ناراحتم چون باید با این مجموعه� جذاب خداحافظی کنم. خداحافظ «کانر»، خداحافظ فراریِ آکرونِ جذاب و به بلوغ شخصیتی رسیده. خداحافظ «ریسا وارد» قوی. خداحافظ «لِو»، خدای مجموعها� از هویته�. خداحافظ «هیدن»، مغز کامپیوتری و پدر رادیوآزادِ هیدن. خداحافظ «کامو کامپری»، فرانکشتاین نوین. و خداحافظ «فرمانده».

¡¡Y por fin llegue al final más esperado por mí!!.Desde que comencé esta distopía tenía mis dudas acerca del final, si es que este iba a estar a la altura de lo que fueron sus predecesores.
Y sí, quede bastante conforme. Me gusto el cierre que da Neal, ya que se podría decir que es un final cerrado (hasta cierto punto) y feliz; sin embargo existieron algunas cosas que no consiguieron convencerme y otras que, en definitiva, no me gustaron.
En cuanto a las cosas que no me gustaron, fue la relación amorosa de una de las pareja, creo que fue precipitada, no tuvo desarrollo en los anteriores libros, es más, uno de los personajes apareció un poco en el tercer libro y mucho más en el último; no me convenció aún así entiendo al autor ya que no quería dejar al otro personaje en soledad (no coloco los nombres para no hacer spoiler). Lo positivo de esta pseudo relación es que uno de los personajes principales (el cual estaba “enamorado� pero no era correspondido) no quedo sin compañía, para la travesía que iba a emprender.
Lo otro que no me gusto, y veo que es repetitivo en el autor, es que haga sufrir tanto a los personajes, de verdad los sumerge en conflictos, deslealtades, mucho dolor y poco romance; y es obvio, ya que tienen que estar constantemente huyendo del enemigo. Además siento que hace sufrir más a los personajes masculinos que a los femeninos, lo cual también al parecer es recurrente.
Me gusto que existieran reencuentros (los cuales llevaba páginas esperando), y que tras haber pasado todo lo que pasaron en los otros tres libros puedan hacerse bromas entre ellos; es decir existió felicidad en el final, eso me dejo bastante conforme. Para mí el autor logro cerrar casi todas las tramas.
En definitiva, una tetralogía 1000% recomendable, una de las mejores distopias que he leído; la otra mejor es del mismo autor. Te sumerge en un mundo futurista muy bien construido, del cual vas entendiendo más a medida que vas pasando las páginas; el desarrollo de los personajes hace que te llegues a encariñar con ellos (salvo uno que mencione antes) y hasta sentir nostalgia al acabar el libro.

Much like all the kids that were unwound in this series, I feel as if I've sold a piece of my soul. Not often do I feel both dragged down and uplifted from the same series, and not often does a book break my nerve to continue on with a genre after finishing. This book and series, while fulfilling all my darkest desires for a climactic series of events, wasn't without it's deep-rooted flaws, in my opinion. I absolutely adored our three main characters, but, for once, they weren't enough for me to give this final book 5 stars.

As anyone that follows my reviews religiously knows, I adored a certain boy who was doomed from chapter one, book one. He really wedged himself deep in my heart-it's alarming how much I love him. And I guess that's where my personal struggles lie-While his story was absolutely breathtaking, stunning, steal-your-breath awesome, I can't say I cared much past his or Risa's stories. And I don't think that's necessarily a good thing.
There's never been a moment in Connor's life that he could call perfect, but this moment, with his arm numb from being around Risa all night, and his sense of smell overwhelmed by the fragrance of her hair-this moment is the closest to perfection he's ever known.
I've been known to skim to get to my fav moments, appearances, etc, shut up, but never so much as to ruin a story or cut it up into pieces. But when the story went to a POV not revolving around Connor and Risa, I found I lost interest completely. I loved Lev, as well, but frikkin' being stuck on that boring ass Rez bored me to tears. Like
I don't care-Judge away, Judgies. And Starkey. I hate this kid, so why would I want to read about his stupid resistance-what a moron.
There's no telling what her life will be like a day from now, much less a year from now. That's the best argument for living in the moment, but how can you live in the moment when all you want is for the moment to end?
Ugh. So, anyway. I don't like over analyzing and hearing about religious fronts for a whole story or being in someone's head I could care less about-and there was a lot of that in the last two books. I still adore this series, just know that there are lots of parts I wish I could have skipped.
Betrayal, redemption, loyalty, and a willingness to give up everything to save someone you love more than yourself. This is what touched me the most-My soul was ripped into shreds and I bawled uncontrollably more than once. So many feels that I can't even begin to explain, my emotions are all over the place. Even as I tried to fall asleep I found myself tossing and turning as I mulled over the conclusion to this deeply disturbing series.
As he dives down toward tranq sleep, he takes comfort in the absolute knowledge that Connor Lassiter will soon be going down too-but unlike Argent, Connor will never be getting up.
I like to think I am beyond being disturbed when it comes to dystopian, but it turns out I couldn't be more wrong. I may have immensely enjoyed this series to the point of obsession, but I still was so beyond heartbroken and disturbed that it should be considered art. Just because you love something doesn't mean it can't hurt you-and this was exactly the case. And, oh yeah, in case you were wondering....

Much like all the kids that were unwound in this series, I feel as if I've sold a piece of my soul. Not often do I feel both dragged down and uplifted from the same series, and not often does a book break my nerve to continue on with a genre after finishing. Favorite book of the year! Las palabras no pueden expresar el cariño que siento hacia esta serie y sus personajes. Neal Shusterman ha destruido mi corazón, una vez más. Pero yo sabía que este libro iba a doler mucho, que acabaría con mi buen estado de ánimo y me dejaría en depresión. He llorado al leer ciertos libros, al ver esa clase de películas particularmente tristes y desgarradoras; pero UnDivided no me hizo llorar. No: este libro me destruyó el corazón y dejó los pedazos restantes en el suelo, para yo verlos. Y es que no pude imaginar otro final para esta serie. Shusterman le ha dado una conclusión sorprendente a sus libros. Connor, Risa y Lev han sufrido mucho, han soportado y vivido cosas que pocos podrían. No esperaba un final de mininos felices volando sobre unicornios púrpura; pero estaría muy enojada si algo malo le pasaba a mis personajes favoritos. Y obtuve ambos: momentos tristes y conmovedores, en donde sólo quería llorar; esperanza, una conclusión llena de luz y posibilidades de un mundo mejor, un mundo sin la desconexión.
Describiría a UnDivided como una montaña rusa de emociones, emociones incontrolables una vez que superas las primeras páginas. EL CAPÍTULO CINCUENTA Y CINCO ES LA COSA MÁS DOLOROSA QUE HE LEÍDO.
Este libro lo fue todo para mí. Llore como nunca. Grité de frustración en algunas ocasiones. Incluso tuve que parar de leer y tomar algo de aire, porque todo era demasiado doloroso y estaba a punto de tener un colapso nervioso. No crean que es una exageración, porque así fue toda mi lectura. Pero eso es lo que amo de leer: llorar, reír y sufrir con los personajes como si yo misma estuviera junto a ellos. Y Neal Shusterman ha logrado todo eso con sus libros. Es difícil decirle adiós a una serie que ha significado tanto para mí. (Me estoy poniendo triste.) Pero sé que Connor, Risa y Lev -aquellos personajes que comenzaron como desconectados fugitivos pero terminaron cambiando el futuro de toda una nación- siempre tendrán un lugar muy especial en mi corazón.
Gracias, gracias y gracias a Neal Shusterman por haber creado estos magníficos libros. Y, para aquellos que no han leído Unwind: dejen todo lo que están haciendo y léanlo, porque les aseguro que les gustará. (Eso espero.)

Undivided is the last book of the UnWind series. By the time all was said and done I was completely uninvested in these characters. What started out so strongly ended so poorly.
Our cast of characters have lost sight of who they are. And, like the previous installment, they are indecisive and spread out all over the place. We get an additional 14 side story lines that seemingly came out of nowhere to add plenty of confusion to the storyline.
Lev’s whole storyline just drove me nuts. It was great in the beginning to see someone who was brainwashed into believing that being unwound is a holy experience. But where his story went from there was just�.UGH. I can’t even come up with a word that explains it well enough! Lame? Overdone? Desperate? Pathetic? I think, honestly, given where the story goes, Lev should have just been killed off in book 2. I just did not fucking care about anything he had going on past the first book.
Risa and Connor are supposed to be madly in love with one another. We are told this repeatedly throughout the book. But I just didn't feel it. Some authors are WONDERFUL at creating relationships that feel real. You read these couples and know that they belong together. You are reminded of your hormonal teenage years where LOVE was everything and there was nothing in the world that could stop it. This romance was forced and just did NOT work.
All the side characters seemed to be distracting to the whole storyline. I feel like the author meant to use them as a way to tell a broader story, but it just didn't work. They were either underdeveloped, thrown in last minute or so overdone you weren't sure what the REAL storyline was.
The ending of the series did very little for me. I just thought there were aspects that could have been done better, and a LOT of things that could have been left out completely. It felt like things were thrown in as an afterthought and it just did NOT work for me. It makes me sad because as you all know, I just love YA Dystopians. (I also feel bad because my dear friend Ashley recommended these to me and I always hate when I don’t jive with a book a friend recommends.) Overall the series would get a 3 star rating from me. I really enjoyed the first two but the last two were HUGE disappointments.

Kurz vorneweg zum Cover - ich bin ja immens froh dass Band 4 endlich auch in deutsch erschienen ist, aber ich finds trotzdem mega schade, dass es nicht auch in der HC Version erhältlich ist, wie die ersten drei Bände. Das Bild passt natürlich perfekt zum Inhalt, trotzdem wäre es im Regal schöner gewesen.
Ich hab dem Ende wirklich sehr entgegengefiebert! Seit der erste Band erschienen ist bin ich Fan der Reihe und ich hab alle drei Vorgänger nochmal gelesen, um mich einzustimmen auf dieses packende und durchgehend spannende Finale! Ich bin einfach nur begeistert wie der Autor hier seine ganzen Handlungsfäden, die er an die Figuren geknüpft hat, zu einem kompletten Bild zusammenfügt und ein schlüssiges und stimmiges Ende entwirft, das einige Überraschungen bereit hält!
Er bleibt sich seinem Schema treu und erzählt kapitelweise aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven, aber neben den Hauptfiguren, die wir aus den Vorbänden kennen, kommen auch andere zu Wort, Nebencharaktere aber auch "unbeteiligte" Figuren, die der Handlung und vor allem dem Verlauf der Hintergründe eine greifbare Vorstellung geben.
Denn gerade die Hintergründe, die in diese temporeiche und spannende Geschichte verstrickt wurden, machen das ganze zu einem besonderen und wichtigen Werk über die Menschen im einzelnen und die Gesellschaft.
Das unterstreicht er auch gekonnt zum Beispiel mit "Werbeblogs" verschiedener Institutionen, die er an passender Stelle einstreut, ein typisches Mittel das man aus dem Fernsehen zur Genüge kennt, aber auch mit tatsächlichen Links zu Beiträgen aus der realen Welt, mit denen er jeweils die sechs Teile einleitet, in die das Buch gegliedert ist. Wenn man dazu mal googelt kann man sehen, dass Neal Shusterman teilweise gar nicht so weit in die Zukunft blickt und es schon einige Forschungen und Meldungen gibt, die vieles von dem, was er hier mit eingebracht hat, der Realität nahe bringen.
Dadurch kann man auch gut herauslesen, welche Entwicklungen sich anbahnen und wie die Propaganda mit den Ängsten der Menschen arbeitet, um die Umwandlungsmöglichkeiten und damit den Profit weiter auszuarbeiten.
Dieses System ist ja in unserer Gesellschaft weit verbreitet ...
Auch das Konstrukt der Überwachung und damit Prävention unter dem Deckmantel von mehr Sicherheit wird immer wieder geschürt und damit auch die Abgabe jeglicher Verantwortung und Entscheidungsfreiheit.
Aber auch andere grausame Möglichkeiten werden offen gelegt, was vor allem Cam zu spüren bekommt, der erste Verbundmensch, der aus den Teilen verschiedener Wandler zusammen gesetzt und sozusagen "ins Leben gerufen" wurde. Das war schon ein Geniestreich seiner Ideen und verursacht mir noch immer eine Gänsehaut, wenn ich alleine schon darüber nachdenke!
Mit Connor, Risa und Lev fing ja alles an und mit ihnen wird es auch enden. Ihre Entwicklungen und auch der anderen wichtigen Nebenfiguren finden einen passenden Abschluss, wobei der Autor die Spannung immer wieder auf den Höhepunkt treibt.
Ich finde überhaupt dass er einen großartigen Schreibstil hat der die Handlung ständig vorantreibt aber alles sehr gut auf den Punkt bringt, ohne zu sehr auszuschweifen. Auch die vielen Botschaften die er mal klar und mal in Metaphern einflechte,t wirken nach und zeigen, wie sehr unsere Gesellschaft auf die Problemlösung ausgerichtet ist, indem sie die Auswirkungen radikal bekämpft, anstatt an der Wurzel anzusetzen. Eine wichtige Rolle spielt dabei wie immer auch die Politik und einzelne mächtige Personen, die ihre Kontrolle und ihre Finanzen kontinuierlich steigern wollen.
Eine bewegende Geschichte einer Zukunft, die kaum möglich erscheint und dennoch so nah an unseren Möglichkeiten ist und vieles ans Licht bringt, was in unserer Gesellschaft falsch läuft. Natürlich gerade die Kinder und Jugendlichen, die so oft im Fokus einer negativen Aufmerksamkeit stehen und dabei einfach nur viel mehr Unterstützung, Respekt und Liebe bräuchten. Denn wie soll man lernen etwas weiterzugeben, das man selbst nie erfahren hat?
Ich bin absolut begeistert vom letzten Band der diese großartige Geschichte zu einem grandiosen Abschluss gebracht hat. Ich kann nur jedem empfehlen: Lest es!

UPDATE: Okay is it just me or does this seem weird? I'm one of those people who likes my series books to match -- format, height, covers, etc. And I've waited a year for this one to come out in paperback so it would match the rest of my set (I'm usually not a fan of having all but one or two books in pb vs hb/vice-versa), except that now I come to find out that the paperback edition of this is with the newer cover, with UN in huge letters and then "divided" beneath it. No more Statue of Liberty arm, no more purple cover. wtf. Why would they do this to me?? Guess I'll just get the hardback and be okay with that. /cries

This book felt like a great ending to a really edgy series. That's not nearly adequate as far as explanations go, but to be honest UnDivided pulled the same thing on me. That is, it left me with quite a few questions regarding certain characters and not a lot of closure. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting to sit there and see through the entire reconstruction process that we *know* has to happen by the end, but we are left with so many loose ends as far as the characters go. What happened to Hayden, and Cam, and Connor, and Bam, and Grace, and Lev... basically I need an epilogue. Or UnBound needs to come out already.
Bottom line: this book is insanely good and if you're a fan of the dystopian genre and haven't read this series yet you are missing out.

Excelente distopía verdaderamente siniestra. Lo peor es que algunas de sus cosas claramente perversas, son bastante reconocibles en el mundo real. El fácil manejo de la opinión pública con una publicidad que leída entre líneas era casi aterradora y sin embargo tenía un efecto aborregante, es un ejemplo. La compra de aquello que podría solucionar un gravísimo problema social (y moral) con el fin de enterrarlo, para que no estorbe a una industria en auge (que destroza miles de vidas de una forma espeluznantemente literal), es otro ejemplo tristemente cercano a la realidad, de los muchos que hay en esta historia tan bien pensada.
Eso sí, menudo finalazo. ¡Cómo me hizo sufrir!. Eso no se hace. Se puso emocionantísimo. No es que el resto no fuera emocionante, pero no a esos niveles de infarto (y congoja).
Es una verdadera "distopía de terror", perfectamente posible si las circunstancias hubieran sido propicias, dado el grado de aborregamiento presente. Lo que da miedito, si lo piensas. ŷ lectores (Libre)

Proactive Citizenry has finally revealed why Cam was created. To make an army of rewound teens for the military. The group has also suppressed technology that would render unwinding obsolete. Connor, Risa, Lev, and Cam struggle to stop unwinding and Proactive Citizenry while bringing the suppressed technology to the surface.
UnDivided was a satisfying conclusion to the Unwind dystology. It kept me in a nervous excited state that compelled me to keep reading until I finished it. The overall blind heartlessness of the world surprisingly still shocked me. It's terrifying to fathom that people could care so little about the atrocities going on around them, but it's unfortunately all too similar to the world today.
One of my favorite parts of this book and the series as a whole was the thick sense of desperation I felt when reading the book. Clearly it's easy to see why teens would be so desperate when almost the entire world wants them for their body parts. I still can't imagine in a normal setting how a parent could sign their child's life away. I can't even imagine any person being willing to sign a child away that they raised in the case of the storked children. Now for the poor kids who are wards of the state it's not at all difficult to fathom them simply being viewed as unfortunate budget cuts.
One part I disliked in UnDivided is it transformed itself into more and more of a dystopia as it took on more tropes like the evil corporation responsible for practically everyone's misery. I enjoyed it more in Unwind when the thought was the world was terrified of teenagers and found a brutally efficient way of dealing with them. That felt more genuine and less like an evil business man, sitting in dim light, at a desk with his fingers steepled, and waiting to laugh maniacally.
The other thing that bugged me was Camus Comprix's motives. The character's actions really don't make much sense for the majority of the series and UnDivided isn't really an exception. At this point I almost wish he didn't exist. He didn't really add anything to the story overall outside of showing Proactive Citizenry's lack of ethics, but that had already been firmly established and didn't need further bolstering.
UnDivided was a thrilling story of a world I hope never approaches becoming a reality.

It's terrifying to fathom that people could care so little about the atrocities going on around them, but it's unfortunately all too similar to the world today.
One of my favorite parts of this book and the series as a whole was the thick sense of desperation I felt when reading the book. Clearly it's easy to see why teens would be so desperate when almost the entire world wants them for their body parts. I still can't imagine in a normal setting how a parent could sign their child's life away. I can't even imagine any person being willing to sign a child away that they raised in the case of the storked children. Now for the poor kids who are wards of the state it's not at all difficult to fathom them simply being viewed as unfortunate budget cuts.
One part I disliked in UnDivided is it transformed itself into more and more of a dystopia as it took on more tropes like the evil corporation responsible for practically everyone's misery. I enjoyed it more in Unwind when the thought was the world was terrified of teenagers and found a brutally efficient way of dealing with them. That felt more genuine and less like an evil business man, sitting in dim light, at a desk with his fingers steepled, and waiting to laugh maniacally.
The other thing that bugged me was Camus Comprix's motives. The character's actions really don't make much sense for the majority of the series and UnDivided isn't really an exception. At this point I almost wish he didn't exist. He didn't really add anything to the story overall outside of showing Proactive Citizenry's lack of ethics, but that had already been firmly established and didn't need further bolstering.
UnDivided was a thrilling story of a world I hope never approaches becoming a reality.

وقتی فهمیدم عاشق این کتابم که نویسنده نزدیک بود با یکی دوتا اتفاق قلبم رو تیکه تیکه کنه و من گفتم اگر این گندی که میخوا� بزنی رو جمع نکنی هیچوقت نمیبخش� و در کمال تعجب فهمیدم این حرف رو کاملا جدی زد��. آخه میدونی� خیلی وقتا میدون� ممکنه قلبم تیکه تیکه بشه و اجازه� این کار رو به نویسنده مید� اما این بار نه!
عجیبه که این مجموعه� مریض و تلخ و تاریک رو دوست داشتنی توصیف میکن�. هرچند فکر کنم به خاطر شخصیتها� و نثرش باشه.
زیبا بود. سر نیمه� دوم چند جا بلند بلند با نویسنده حرف زدم و دیوانگی خودم رو بیشتر از قبل به مامان و بابام ثابت کردم. این نیمه� دوم جلد آخر اصلا یه وضعی بود...

Sí! Un final así, sí! Estos libros me llamaron la atención des del primer momento en el que empecé a leerlos porque la trama, no vamos a engañarnos, es tan inhumana y real que no me sorprendería que pasase algo así en un futuro. Lo bueno de todo es, que los protagonistas, los que todos queremos, en vez de irse haciendo peores o dejando de lado a los que quieren se vuelven más y más fuertes y crean un ambiente tan precioso que me tiene enamorada. Creo que el final fue realmente lo que se necesitaba con estos libros y no sé, pero Neal Shusterman ganó mi corazón con estos libros y sé que voy a leer todo lo que este hombre escriba porque es increíble.

وقتی به کل 4جلد فکر میکنم می بینم، جناب شوسترمن روی چیز بی نظیری دست گذاشته! روی چی؟
انرژی غیرقابل انکار نوجوونا!
نوجوونای 13 تا 18 سال و گاهی تا 20 سال. کسایی که منبع انرژی نامحدود هستند. بدن سالم دارن. وقت آزاد برای فکر کردن دارن. دچار دغدغه های روزمره زندگی مثل کار و پول و وجهه اجتماعی و سرپناه و تشکیل خانواده و هزار تا کوفت دیگه نشدن
اینه که ذهنشون کاملا آزاد و آماده هست تا به اصول بنیادی فکر کنند و اونها رو زیر سوال ببرن
چنین ذهنی توی 25 یا 35 سالگی، اونقدر درگیر شده که به ندرت قادره توقف کنه و اصول رو زیر سوال ببره. اونقدر دغدغه داره که مثل یه ربات فقط سعی می کنه بین دیکته های جامعه اونی که از همه بهش نزدیکتره رو انتخاب کنه و یک زندگی روتین بسازه
ولی یک نوجوون با ذهن پویا معمولا هیچ دیکته ای رو نمی پذیره. حتی اونهایی که از سنین خیلی پایین شستشوی مغزی شدن، خیلی راحت تر از یک جوون 25 ساله، با یه تلنگر می تونن مسیرشون رو زیر سوال ببرن و یا اونو تغییر بدن
این جلد هم برام جذاب بود
با این حال دو تا موضوع از نظرم قابل باور نبود
یکی ماجرای لو و اونا برای دستگیری دزدهای اعضایی که باعث گسسته شدن ویل شده بودن. فکر کن با دو تا دزد خفن و کارکشته طرف باشی که کلی از وجنات و ظاهر خشن و ترسناکشون توصیف شده! بعد یه دختر ریزنقش میره سراغشون. درسته دختره آدم کاربلدی هست و بچه طبیعت و شکار و ایناست، اما دزدا دو تا مرد گنده بکن ظاهرا! بعد خیلی رام و مطیع دنبال دختره راه می افتن میان که جنسی که دختره بهشون گفته رو از نزدیک ببینن و معامله کنن! دقیقا چی باعث شد که وقتی رسیدن به اون کانتینر و طعمه رو کت بسته و آش و لاش دیدن، خیلی با مرام و با معرفت سر قولشون موندن و قرار شد طعمه رو باز کنن و پولو بدن برن؟ همه چیزی که ازشون می دونیم، صحنه رو کاملا به سمتی می برد که دخل دختره رو بیارن و حتی از همونم به عنوان یه جنس توی بازار سیاه استفاده کنن. اما اینکه مثل یه گوسفند رام و مطیع دنبال اونا راه افتادن و دست از پا خطا نکردن که هیچ، اونقدر دست و پا چلفتی بودن که خودشون توی تله افتادن، یکم از نظرم مسخره به نظر رسید. از اون صحنه هایی بود که باید اتفاق می افتاد تا مسیر داستان پیش بره. حتی باورناپذیر. آخه فضایی که جناب شوسترمن ساخته اینطوریه که به هیچ وجه یه نوجوون زنده و سالم تنها اونم توی شب تاریک، در امان و سلامت نمی مونه. حتما از یه گوشه کناری یکی میاد سراغش. حالا چطور شد که اون دو تا دزد خیلی خفن از خیر یه جنس آماده و حاضر گذشتن، من که نفهمیدم. فکر کن منِ خواننده که گسستگی و پیوستگی و هزارتا پیچ و خم دیگه داستان رو باور کردم هیچ جوره این صحنه رو نتونستم باور کنم صفحه 91 تا 112
یه مورد دیگم اونجایی بود که کانر رفته بود دنبال سلولهای بنیادی توی آزمایشگاه یه بیمارستان پرت. اگه همه اون تحقیقات برای پیدا کردن چنین جایی رو قبول کنیم، زد و خوردهای بعدش با نگهبانها رو هم بگیم اوکی حله! اونجایی که کارمند آزمایشگاه درو باز می کنه و می بینه یکی داره توی قفسه ها دنبال یه چیزی می گرده! بعد یهو میگه صبر کن من تورو میشناسم! تو کانری! بعدم بهش می گه اونجایی که داری می گردی جای درستی نیست باید بری قفسه های پشتی "سلول بنیادی" اونجاست!!!!!! خود کانرم باورش نمیشد که این یارو چطوری از غیب اومد چه برسه من😀. حالا شناختش چون آدم معروفی شده بود قبول، اما دیگه اینکه دنبال چی می گرده و چرااااا داره دنبال اونا می گرده یکم باورپذیر نیست. طرف گفت من می دونم سلول بنیادی می خوای تا پرینتر سه بعدی ساخت عضو رو راه بندازی!!!!! ص 155 تا 161
و دو تا موضوع هم توی این کتاب خیلی برام جذاب بود
یکی اجرای عدالت در مورد همون دزدی که ویل تاشینی رو توی بازار سیاه فروخته بود تا گسسته بشه. وقتی اجرای عدالت رو دادن دست خانواده ویل. اونها اومدن ملاقات دزد. مادر ویل گفت مرگ تو به دست ما فایده ای نداره. برای همین تورو تسلیم ندامتگاه مرکزی می کنیم. برای باقی عمرت چیزی جز نون و آب نمی خوری. با هیچ آدمی تماس نخواهی نداشت. هیچی برای سرگرمی در اختیار نداری. تا آخرین روز عمرت خودتی و افکارت. وقتی دزد شاکی میشه که اینطوری که نمیشه و باید چیزی بهم بدین مثل یه تی-وی یا انجیل حتی! پدر ویل یه طناب بهش میده. مادر ویل میگه ما این رحم رو نشون میدیم تا هروقت که وجودت غیرقابل تحمل شد با این طناب بتونی زندگیت رو تموم کنی. صبح روز بعد جنازه دزد رو در حالی پیدا می کنند که خودشو از سقف حلق آویز کرده بود. ص 183
موضوع بعدی ایده ساخت ارگ ارگانیک بود. ارگی که با سرانسانها ساخته شده بود. و یه طورایی جلد فصل سوم رو تداعی می کنه. ص 302 و 303
از این دست اتفاقای خیلی زیبا و جوندار توی کتاب کم نیست. مثل رابطه بین آرجنت و نلسون. نیمه راست صورت آرجنت و نیمه چپ صورت نلسون. در نهایت مرگ نلسون با همون روشی که خودش باعث مرگ کلی بچه شده بود. سرنوشت استارکی. گلدونهای بونسای دیوان که برای دشمناش بکار می برد. شخصیت گریس و کارایی که میکرد. رادیو آزادی هیدن. ایده خط تولید گسستگی و پیوستگی و خیلی چیزای دیگه
