Think The Bodyguard meets Gossip Girl

‘Sometimes being the only daughter of one of the wealthiest men in the country seriously sucked.

Coco Monroe narrowly escaped with her life after being attacked by a stalker.

Six months later, Coco's decided to take control of her future from her over-protective father. She's convinced herself to devote her time and energy to a secret project, running the charitable trust for victims of domestic abuse, First Step.

However, helping a woman and her baby flee from her powerful husband once again brings violence to Coco's door.

Rafael Cavendish, head of security for Monroe Industries, regards Coco as a magnet for trouble. When he receives a tip-off that Coco's in jeopardy, he's determined to take her to safety, whether she likes it or not.

But Rafael soon finds uncovering the astonishing truth about Coco is unsettling, exciting and dangerous to his heart.

A truth that will change their lives for ever.

I just loved loved loved this latest installment of CC MacKenzies Ludlow Hall series! Coco and Rafe are two very strong and very stubborn people who fall hard for each other. But Coco is struggling to seperate herself from her fathers controlling ways and when Rafe is sworn to protect her you just know that the sparks are going to fly! I also liked all of the back stories included in the book, paving the way for several new books to follow! I'm looking forward to reading Jacobs and Josh's and Janine's stories ( and hopefully Louise's and Ethan's also hint hint ). The people we've come to fall in love with from previous books also make several appearances in this book, which is always nice. I mean how could we ever get enough of Nico anyway!!!

I think The Trouble With Coco is the best one in the Ludlow Hall series so far. The chemistry between Rafe and Coco is so electrifying that it literally gives me the tingles whenever these two are in the same room. It doesn't matter what they're doing: going head to head and sparring or making love, there's just so much raw energy between the two of them to ignore. Plus this book also focuses on Nick and Bronte and their kids. It's so nice to see what goes on after they have said their "I do's". Another plus is we get to have a taste of what to expect in the author's coming books, sort of a teaser. Now I can't wait for Josh and Janine's story. A keeper!

I was torn on what to rate this book. On the one hand, I love Coco and Louise in this book. On the other hand, the actions of the men in this book are beyond awful. They constantly lie to Coco, whom they greatly underestimate. Rafe at one point practically pats her on the head and says, "good girl." I understand why he and her father were so overprotective, but the deceptions were too much. I'm so angered by their lies and behavior that it's hard for me to re-read the book without getting angry again. It saddened me how they didn't bother to see past the tabloid image of her and disregarded everything about her. I'm so glad she had Louise and the other women to support her. Rafe is the hero, but I just couldn't like him very much.

Funny thing about series is you can have strong identifiable characters that the reader bonds with along with a fantastic story. I found this true with the first three books of CC MacKenzie's Ludlow Hall series, Reckless Nights in Rome, A Stormy Spring, Run Rosie Run. The love was not there for her forth book in the series The Trouble with Coco Monroe.

The story begins with Coco Monroe narrowly escaped with her life after being attacked by a stalker. Six months later, Coco's decided to take control of her future from her over-protective father. She's convinced herself to devote her time and energy to a secret project, running the charitable trust for victims of domestic violence, 'First Step'. However, helping a woman and her baby flee from her powerful husband once again brings danger to Coco's door. Rafael Cavendish, head of security for Monroe Industries, regards Coco as nothing more than a magnet for trouble. When he receives a tip-off that Coco's in danger, he's determined to take her to safety, whether she likes it or not.

For some reason I just could not get into Coco or Ralfael relationship. Everything was there, good story, two people who have loved and was attracted to each other for years, past characters that you loved in the other books in the series etc. I just did not like or was very interested in a very wealthy girl who narrowly escapes being stabbed to death by a crazy stalker not understand that the people around her fear for her safety when a key figure in the Russian Mafia is looking for Coco for information on where his battered wife and baby went. This guy was an abuser of women. Noted for beating and raping women yet she complains and bitches how her farther and Ralfael are concerned for her welfare. And this tone stayed from the beginning to the end of the book when finally after giving birth she realizes how much someone could love a child. Please, Like I said, enjoyed the first three but not this one. Do not understand why the 5 star treatment by some reviewers, I am giving it a solid 2 1/2 stars because it did mention some of the previous characters that I did like and give a dam about.

WOW... I love this book. I could not put it down. CC Mackenzie has done it again!!! She has written an emotional story about family, friends, love, and strong willed woman. This has been one of my favorites contemporary series I have read in a while . I highly recommend the series . The worst part now is that I have to wait for the next installment to come out and I can't wait for Jennie's story wow that's going to be a really good book. Kudos to you Mrs. Mackenzie , please don't make us wait too long for the next book in this series. I Thanks you! ♥♥ let me know when it comes out in the e-book format,

I liked the characters. I like the fact that the ones from previous entries also appear and aren't just part of the background.
The thing is, I compare it with the other books of the Ludlow Hall novels and find myself more drawn to other characters, as I found it harder to relate to Coco.
It's a good addition, and CC Mackenzie is a good writer. I just didn't love it as much as the others because I usually prefer a more underdog heroine, while Coco has had it all. But I guess that's part of the Ludlow Hall stories, isn't it?
Simply put - if you've liked the other reads, you'll enjoy this one as well.

Do you self a favor and go back and read the entire series if you have not. Each book is great and enhances the next book with the return characters.
