In COFFIN COLLECTOR , Talon heads to Italy to face a chilling coffin maker who has acquired the casket of a famed practitioner of the dark arts.
COFFIN COLLECTOR is a supernatural short story and makes for a quick, self-contained read featuring a chilling new villain. Mark Talon is featured in the novels Damnation Code, Apocalypse Soldier, Spirit Breaker and Soul Jacker and the novella Ice Shadows.
Though this book was a short romp it still was a grabber!
A small backstory:
Mark Talon is sent on a mission to Italy as there is a man (Marco Giallo) that is a coffin collector except these coffins are not empty as Marco has a fetish with the coffins as he likes to watch people suffer so he sticks them in the coffins. The only thing is Marco now has an interest in a unique coffin which is one of a kind and it is marked with a curse - the only problem is Mark Talon throws a monkey wrench into his plans! That is about all I can give without giving away spoilers.
Thoughts:
Another adventure that Mark Talon gets caught up in and some more action ensues which he has to stop another villain that is trying to perform the dark arts. These adventures just seem to grab me as I get so caught up in the storylines as I just not want to do much of anything else and I will find myself just sitting in my comfy chair as I go from chapter to chapter. Though I finished this book really quick as it was a very short book, but I still had to finish it once I started reading it. Five "action" stars!
Coffin Collector finds Talon just beyond the events of Spirit Breaker. in this installment, Talon has found the Collector of Coffins Giallo and discovered his devious plan, and the piles of bodies that he murdered along the way. Giallo comes from a very old family of coffin makers and he has discovered the secret to eternal life. Can Talon find him and stop him before he commits his evil act? This time Talon gets back to what I know and love of him, he gets back to what he does best, stopping evil with a fury of bullets. This was a quickly read short that gave me just what I love in the Occult Assassin series, just desserts for an evil man. Short on pages, but not on action. If you like your thrillers with a volley of bullets and a dash of the Occult, give this series a try. You will be pleasantly surprised.
Very short but as good as all the others. Well written. I love Talon and his missions, there is always something happening and always some new bad guy and of course Talon can take care of anything. He is a bad @ss and strong, definitely a hero. I have to say the first chapter had me bitting my nails, it was definitely intense. It was also a bit scary when you think about what was happening. Will definitely recommend if like me you are a fan of this series, definitely worth a read.
Occult Assassin ( Coffin Collector ) ( Book 3.5 )( A Short Story )
A Short story indeed, but complete .... Talon puts away another nasty man or men is more appropriate. This story was not only very good but made me want more!!
Short, dark and twisted... what more is there to say. The coffin collector shows the effects of others behaviour on a developing mind, the warping of thought processes brought on through the need for power and that Mark during his hunting has become more ruthless and coldly vicious than he was at the start as a soldier for the army.
