There are two things Wynn Holcolm can't stand: liars, and her father. Sexy bodyguard Foster Kane is a liar who works for her father.
But he may also be the only man who can keep her alive -- because her father's most dangerous enemy has just been released from prison, and plans to take his revenge through her.
To keep Wynn safe, Foster must earn her trust and fight his growing attraction to her -- because the last time he got involved with a client, the job ended in tragedy.
This time it's far more personal...and the real enemy is closer than he ever imagined.

But it turns out Wynn's life actually is in danger. Now Foster must win her trust and keep her close by, because the man who killed her mother has unfinished business with her -- and her father is keeping a deadly secret that could destroy them all."
My Thoughts:
Books like this are why I love the blogging world so much! This is a completely new to me author that caught my attention through email- I read the included excerpt and just knew that I wanted to keep reading this book. I'm happy to say that the rest of the book was just as good as the excerpt which meant a really great reading experience and yet another new author to follow. Love it! As this is a genre that I really just don't read enough of, I'm so glad that I decided to give this book a try. I will definitely be seeking out more books by this author and am really excited that this looks to be the beginning of a new series!
One of the things that really made this book stand out for me were the two main characters Wynn and Foster. I enjoyed both of their characters a lot for different reasons. It was the chemistry between them though that really made me want to keep reading. They fit together perfectly from the very beginning even though neither of them really was willing to admit to it. Instead there were missteps and misunderstandings along the way....all the things that I love in a romance. For some reason I am just a sucker for books where the romance doesn't go smoothly instantly. It just makes it all feel a bit more realistic to me when the romance takes time to develop. There is one heads up that I would like to give to romance readers: this is a book that focuses less on the romance scenes and more on the relationship that is developing. It didn't effect my enjoyment of the book in the slightest but I just thought other readers might like to know. The suspense portion of this book was very well done and the ending sure had me on my toes! I loved how the author managed to take my expectations and completely turn them on their head by the end of the book. I will say no more so I don't spoil anything but suffice it to say that I really loved the way this book ended!
Overall I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I managed to read it in just a few short days because I really didn't want to put it down. It was a quick read but so completely worth it! I've now found a new author to follow and a series that I really can't wait to read more of. I sure do hope that she plans on writing many more books focused on this series! Easily recommended!
Bottom Line: A really great romantic suspense and an author I can't wait to read more of!
Disclosure: I received a copy of this books thanks to the author.
False Security was a fun read, quick read. It wasn't a very long read, but I enjoyed every page of it.
Foster is a security expert. His job is to protect people, to make sure anyone who wants to harm them doesn't get the chance. He is good at his job, but he still hasn't forgiven himself for what happened when he got involved with a job in the past. He doesn't want to be in that position again as he just doesn't think he could protect someone he cares about.
Wynn is the daughter of a very rich man. A man who was never really a father to her and whom she hasn't seen in a long time. She wants nothing to do with him. After her mothers murder she went to live with her grandmother and is making a life for herself in Indigo Valley. She runs a bakery that used to do quite well, but with the traffic re-route none of the tourist traffic comes by her shop anymore and she needs to figure out a way to save it. She doesn't have much, even if her father is rich, but she is happy enough.
Wynn's father hires the company Foster works for to protect Wynn, but doesn't want her to know. They think it is just a poor little rich girl protection gig - nothing serious. They set up fake dating profiles with just people in the company as matches for Wynn to pick from (she doesn't know that of course) to try and get close to her without alerting her she is being followed/protected. She picks Foster out of all of them even though he tried his hardest to not be chosen.
This book was a lot of fun. Foster still has his issues from the past assignment to deal with and Wynn doesn't like liars, which Foster is by necessity. The both of them are attracted to each other right away, but neither of them want to be. Wynn doesn't want to like him, especially when she starts to find out he lied to her, and Foster needs to learn to forgive himself for what he considers mistakes. As I said above it is a quick read so the plot moves fairly fast, a few times it was a smidgen unbelievable but I was enjoying it so much I didn't really care. There were just a few moments when I was like I am not 100% sure that they are there yet, but they are definitely getting there and I will just go with it cause why not. It is fun.
Things heat up both between Wynn and Foster, and with the people out to get Wynn. What Forster assumed was just a fluff job turns into a serious security gig. Foster is so great with everything, protecting Wynn and getting closer to her. I really enjoy the super tough security guy getting the bad guys and protecting his lady books. They are just fun reads and this one was no different. I love seeing what Foster does to keep Wynn safe, love all the ways he tried to keep Wynn away, loved his online profile, really just loved the story. It was a really fun read. I would definitely like to read more especially since this is the first in what will be a series. I can't wait.

False Security unfolds the romance between Wynn, a pastry shop owner based in Indigo Valley, and Foster, a bodyguard working for Vegas Securities. It’s also packed with lots of suspense and action.
Wynn is smart and hard-working, but very unlucky. I really feel bad that she can’t find happiness in love, family and work. Not to mention her trust issues. I was intrigued as to how she will embrace romance when it finally comes her way. During the first half, I felt like, for someone who hates liars, her trust can easily be turned on and off. But maybe, Wynn is just inherently understanding and kind-hearted. (3/5)
Foster is very sweet and endearing. No doubt, he has the mind and the heart of a good bodyguard. However, he tends to be impulsive and quick-tempered, and this naturally invites trouble. Also, he built a wall to avoid being close to his new principal, but it easily crumbles as he got to know Wynn better. He’s just too cute! (4/5)
False Security was the first novel I read with two first person POVs. It felt weird having to switch POVs every other chapter. Personally, I think it could still be as effective, and even more fluid, if it was written in third person omniscient. Their dialogues and actions were clearly written. I felt like I was there, watching their every movement and hearing them talk with each other. However, I felt their descriptions were lacking. Wynn is beautiful. Foster is sexy. But I couldn’t get a clear picture of how they actually look like. (3/5)
I wasn’t able to solve the mystery correctly, which is a good point. There were two revelations. The first was okay, but I was dumbstruck by the last. It was too crazy for my liking. (3/5)
Will Wynn and Foster get their HEA? I was impressed by how their story was wrapped up. Great job, Ms. Blaze! (4/5)

Review of False Security by Morgan Blaze False Security is the first book in a bodyguard-romance-mystery series called Indigo Valley. In this novel, we are told the story of Wynn, a beautiful young woman that owns a small bakery in Indigo Valley, and Foster, the man that was hired by her father to protect her. A romance between this two screams TABOO everywhere, but there is something so exciting about forbidden relationships. Wynn is a sweet and kind woman with serious trust issues due to the murder of her mother and the fact that her father made everyone think we went hysterical due their loss. Foster works for a VIP security firm in Vegas, unfortunately, he is the shadow of the man he was. He blames himself for his client’s death. He knew he shouldn’t have gotten involved with her, but she was born a tease and he thought he was in love. Now, Foster sticks to group jobs instead of going solo, but after two years since the incident his boss thinks it is time that he moves on and regains his lost confidence. I must admit I love bodyguards, there is something very sexy about a confident man, especially if there is a little bossy involved. Nevertheless, Foster gave me quite a pleasant surprise. He was sweet, caring, and had a vulnerable side. I am used to see so many heroes presented as this totally tough beings. Therefore, this side of Foster made him more human to my eyes. I loved that detail. Now, Wynn was a good character but I think it could have been developed a little more. I felt she lacked a little something but, other than that, I loved her kindness and the fact that she made things so difficult for Foster. Hey, a girl has to keep her guy on this toes, right? Honestly, I consider that the pace at which the plot developed was appropriated for such a short novel. In fact, I must confess there is a hidden twist that I wasn’t expecting. If you are searching for a story filled with action, comedy or steamy scenes, this might not be for you. Nevertheless, if you love mystery, a sweet romance that might heal two broken beings, and some pretty yummy pastries that would have you drooling, I assure you this is your next read. 4 stars Reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock
Morgan Blaze Indigo Valley Series; FALSE SECURITY
This is a lovely story about a young woman, Wynn Holcom, who witnessed a horrific murder when she was about 12 years old. Her father, a shady high stakes gambler, abandoned her and left her with her maternal aunt. Ten years later, her life is in danger. Wynn had been lied to by her father over and over. She does not tolerate anyone lying to her, not even a tall dark handsome man that she feels such chemistry toward.
When Vegas Securities is hired to protect Wynn Holcom, Foster Kane is sent to protect her without her knowing it. Foster has his own demons to fight. Two years ago, he was protecting a rich spoiled heiress and got too close to her. When she was killed, Foster blamed himself. He was not going to let that happen again especially since he feels so drawn to Wynn.
When Foster is caught in lie after lie, Wynn is having none of that. How is Foster supposed to protect her if he cannot get close enough? Go on this fast passed mystery, murder and mayhem and find out if Foster and Wynn get their HEA.
I typically don’t like first person novels, but once I got use to it, it flowed. I recommend this book for those that love a romance book that keeps you captivated until the end. As Ms. Blaze explains, she writes romantic novels with a “splash of hot. For those that love romance books but do not like the “hot to hot and in detail this book is for you.

Wynn Holcom saw her mother murdered when she was 12 years old. Her father was a high stakes gambler with no time for a child so he took her to live with her aunt. She missed her parents but loved her aunt so she was content with her life. Ten years later, her father found out her life was in danger so hired a bodyguard for her. The problem was that she couldn't find out she was being guarded or that it was her father who hired the man.
The bodyguard, Foster Kane, had his own problems. He doesn't want to take on private clients because two years earlier, he was protecting a woman who was killed. Foster still blamed himself for her death. Making matters worse for him, he had been involved with the woman so when he begins to have feelings for Wynn, Foster is worried she'll be killed too.
This is a well written novel with details so clearly described, you can easily picture the scenes. Wynn was a strong, independent woman who was very likable. She had a good life and tried to forget about her violent past. Foster was great at his job but he had lost his confidence after the death of his previous client. Even so, he was a very nice, caring man. Both characters had horrible things happen in their pasts and Foster was still struggling to live with it.
If you like romantic suspense with twists, you'll love this book.
