Brentlee Johnson-Corbin has always followed her mother's rules, even when it meant marrying a man she knew wasn't her happily-ever-after.

Bates "Sniper" Lukin, a retired marine, now rides with the Notorious Devils—his street name earned in the deserts of hell.

When the most precious part of Brentlee's world is threatened by the man who was meant to love them, she escapes to the only safe place she knows. But when she seeks the shelter of her sister, Kentlee, and her husband, Fury, her past steps in—and he's determined to protect Brentlee and her daughter as his own.

Their story is one of love discarded, but Sniper won't waste this opportunity to right the wrongs of his past.

Life has been cruel to them both, and Brentlee is certain that the love they lost is gone forever; but under his protective wing, she can't deny that this rough and raw man might be just the hope she needs

2 stars cuz it's better written than a ton of MC shit out there.

MC MARATHON

The sis-in-laws figured out I hadn't read 1 & 2 in this series before we started 3...I lied, I admit it, and said I had. Apparently my GR buddies didn't fill me in enough to get the whole plot of the first two so they busted me :(

So I skimmed this bitch....

Up to 75% and this was 3 stars.

80% and he's getting hard and turned on by OW strippers (he's fucked them in the past). He lets a naked stripper straddle him and masturbate on his lap while his dick gets hard and he's warring with himself on whether or not waiting for the h to come around and fuck him again is the right thing to do...he's already let her see him get a BJ from his regular clubwhore OW (70%) cuz he got pissed and wanted to shove her away. The h catches him with the stripper and after a 2 line fight they're fucking in his office at the strip club...yeah...no.

The H craving some "strange" at 80% and I'm out.

DNF'd @ 89%

SG Ladies...OW abound...just write this shit off and avoid.

3.5 -4 Bates and Brent Stars

Well, that was very much an angsty roller coaster ride of emotions. I have been pondering how many stars to give this book. The reason for my unusual indecision will become clear....
Now, I LOVE MC books. It is hands down, my favourite genre. Give me a hot biker and I am one happy girl.I know that it isn't always an easy ride (pun not intended), and I step into these books fully aware that chances are high that there is going to be some clubwhore drama. At some point the hero is likely to muck things up with his potential Old Lady....usually with a clubwhore. There will be angst, there will be F-bombs flying, there will be sex at the clubhouse, his place, outside somewhere....you get my drift. I expect and relish all those ingredients and I found them in Rough & Raw. So, I was all set for a solid 4/ 4.5 book review. Brentlee is Kentlee's sister (just roll with the names. It works. I don't know how but it does) and ten years ago she was Bates' girl. Then Bates went and joined the military and cut Brent loose. He thought she would find a good guy and live a happy life but in fact she met Scotty, an abusive, rich, controlling monster who within a month of marriage raped her, beat her and slowly destroyed her spirit. Her turning point was when he hurt their little girl-then she fled with her daughter. She ran to her Sister, Kent, and by default the Notorious Devils and Bates, 'Sniper' , the love of her life. The reason for dropping a star in my review was down to Sniper and how he was towards Brent. I think I wanted him to be gentler with her at times because of how she had been abused in her marriage. At times he was an absolute sweetheart but I wanted to slap him upside the head on some occasions. By the end I was convinced he was solid about her but there were so many occasions I thought he wasn't going to cut it. It's important to remember that Sniper also has a hideous past and his demons are very, very real. That gives his character some important balance.
I enjoyed this book but I didn't love it. There were a few typos but nothing too major. It was good to catch up with those other Devils and Kent. And I absolutely will be reading the next book....Dirty Johnny is up next & what self respecting MC addicted reader can resist a character with that name?
Second in Series. HEA. Dual pov.

Dysfunctional City Straight Ahead!

Wow. Wow. Wow. And here I thought Kentlee and Fury were a mess. Nope. That award goes to Bates and Brentlee. Good grief are these two a friggin disaster and then some. From chapter to chapter I didn't know if I even wanted them together. However, they were the perfect mix of crazy for each other. This review may spoil parts of book one.

I absolutely hated to like or even feel sorry for Bates at certain points in this book. On some levels he was just like Scotty, as much as he constantly touted that he wasn't. Hayley Faiman didn't keep it a secret in the first book of what Brentlee was going through with her husband Scotty. This time around the book is wide open and it isn't pretty.

Brentlee has been married to Scotty for six years and after the worst thing she could possibly imagine happens, she finally leaves him. With nowhere to turn because her parents are idiots, Brent heads to her big sister's house and looks for protection within the MC.

He's watched her for a while now. He knows exactly what she's going through, because he's seen it before. He's been in Brentlee's shoes and knows he doesn't want that for her. Sniper is a hard man on the outside, but would do anything for the girl he pushed away all those years ago. He thought he was doing her a favor. Turns out he only helped push her into the arms of the devil.

"He's here to watch my fall, the crash and burn of my life. He's the one to help pick up my pieces, I can't let myself fall for him, Having him and losing him again would kill me. Completely decimate me." ~ Brentlee

And after all of that, the feeling is mutual. So with those kind of feelings still between them, you'd think this would be a walk in the park. Yeah, it's not. At all. Things are all kinds of messed up with the baggage they both carry and at times, I wanted to personally pull their heads outta their asses and tell them to wake up, look and see what you can have! Frustrating.

"I'm not that boy I once was. I'm not good or kind anymore. I'm rough. I'm raw. I need things now that I never needed back then." ~ Sniper

He should also say, "I'm a big baby" because that's what he acted like most of the time. I can handle a reformed manwhore, but the guy that has to "lose himself" in booze and women, is nothing but a jerk in my eyes. Man up, figure out what you are running from and fix it. This is a girl that still wants you, dark side and all.

"I told her once that I didn't have a heart because I gave it to her. She still owns it all these years later. Always has, always will." ~ Sniper

Lines like that throughout the book are what kept me holding out hope for Sniper. I wanted to like the guy, but the way he danced on that abuse line was getting to be a bit much. Especially knowing that Brent just got away from a guy like that. I wanted her to be strong, not jump right back into another doomed relationship.

"I have never been as happy in my entire life than in this man's arms. At fourteen years old or today. It is as if time stood still for our bodies, our hearts, and our souls." ~ Brentlee

Her feelings at 12% of the book. Scary. Rough and Raw is well written from various points of view and is a wild, sexy ride. Hayley Faiman went a little darker this time around and I liked it at some points (the claiming), but at others, it was blurring the lines. I get that these two were messed up from the get go and kept reminding myself when I was getting irritated with them. All the MC brothers are present and accounted for, as well as Kentlee and her kids. Once again the next book is set up nicely and man, it sounds like a doozy. I'll be impatiently waiting.

I liked it but I didn't like it. As one reviewer said, this family/group gives new meaning to the term dysfunctional. Old high school sweethearts are thrown back together when this h (Brentlee) goes to her sister (Kentley) who is married to the club prez because she's a victim of extreme abuse. Her old high school sweetheart/first love just happens to belong to the club. Well, the roller coaster ride starts and I kept saying "I'm through" but then I just had to keep reading to see how much more crazy was going to happen. For those of you who don't like a weak heroine, don't like cheating and really don't like a woman who keeps taking a man back, then don't read this one. It felt like a ping pong ball bouncing back and forth. I'm giving it 3.5 stars based on the fact that the writing wasn't that bad and for some reason I just had to keep reading even though I didn't like the hero or the heroine that much. All of it was just a little OTT IMO.

Rough and Raw
Nortorious Devils MC #2

(Book One Rough and Rowdy)

Hayley Faiman
5 stars

I LOVE this series Yes I am an MC lover BUT I don’t give stars when they aren’t of quality so trust me when I say this one is a 5 star series and we have so much more to look forward to.

Brentlee has always done what her mother has wanted her to even when it meant turning a blind eye to her abusive husband. She knew he was NOT the man for her and once she got pregnant she knew she had to leave him. Her life was one thing but when he put his hands on their daughter Brent knew she had to leave. The only place she was certain she would have protection was with her sister. Her husband has not allowed her to se Kentlee but maybe she will forgive her and take her in. Kent’s husband -- Pierce Fury Duhart is the president of the Nortorious Devils MC. There isn’t anyone better to protect her than the club. Brent will do whatever she has to in order to gain their loyalty --- (Kentlee and Pierce’s story is Rough and Rowdy go snatch it up!)

Bates Sniper Lukin is a man with a past. He left the desert but his dreams haunt him. Riding with his new brothers; The Notorious Devils gives him purpose. The love of his life doesn’t need a man like him plus she is married. He watches her and he recognizes the abuse he watched his mother cover hers up. Walking into the main room of the clubhouse he cant believe his ears or his eyes --- the woman he has loved and watched is sitting talking with his Prez asking for his protection. Kentlee will never let Fury turn her sister away; especially with the baby. Now what .. ? And what did he just say?

This is a story of righting the wrongs and doing what should have been done in the first place. Guilt, betrayal and a deep connection are the webs that are woven into Brent and Sniper’s love story. This is an excellent read with a lot of action packed events of the smexy and dangerous kind. I LOVED Bates and his heart. Brent sometimes got on my nerves but in the end I admired her strength of no holds barred leaving because her dick face husband put his hands on their child.

This story does address domestic violence so please be aware if you have triggers. This book can be read as a standalone but the characters will continue to be connected throughout future releases. I personally recommend you go click them up because you wont be disappointed. Carry this one to the beach and read away! Its sooooo good!

Thank you once again for the ARC Hayley! I LOVE your writing and book two is even better than the first. We are waiting the arrival of Rough and Rugged EEEEEEKKKKKKK! Dirty Johnny I think you and I are going to be great friends! I cant wait!

Hayley Faiman is a fairly new author to me. When I stumbled across book one in this series, I took a chance because MCs are not my thing. But holy smokes. I was captivated from page one with big hopes for book two. This author took me on a ride that had me on the edge of my seat and pushing my boundaries... the entire time.

Rough & Raw was an amazing story. Full of grit, tension, steam, passion, suspense, and intensity... Faiman takes her readers on a journey that won't soon be forgotten. Brentlee and Bates were two broken but redeemable characters that made you love to hate and hate to love them. Their story was hard and broken but real and captivating.

Brentlee is simply broken. Abuse. Neglect. Unloved. She craves to find shelter and safety for her and her daughter. And then a moment happens that changes everything. She runs to the only place she can think of... Notorious Devils compound. And there is where she finds Bates. The man who owns her heart. But some demons just can't be fought.

Bates is a man with many demons. He is dark, deadly, and violent. He lives his life for himself and his club. But the moment Brentlee enters his life again, he is going to claim her. But the question is, can he fight his battles and prove to Brentlee he is the man she needs? Or are these two fighting a losing battle? The only way to find out... is to fight.

God these two! Man oh man I have never had an author push my limits and boundaries in reading like this one. This book has moments that make you want to.. cringe but they are important to the dynamics of this story and their relationship. Don't get me wrong... I rooted hard. And just when I thought all hope was lost... love proved how powerful it is.

I highly recommend this book.

At fifteen, Brentlee Johnson was heartbroken by her first boyfriend, Bates Lukin. Her life went a rather crazy and unbridled course until she married her best friend's older brother at nineteen. Handsome, successful, from a good family and with a rising career, Scotty Corbin is like a dream. What she didn't expect was, on her own honeymoon, to start living a nightmare. Six years later, to protect her own life and her daughter's life, Brentlee will seek refuge in an unexpected place: alongside the outlaw of the Notorious Devils MC.

Bates Lukin did not have an easy life. Son of an alcoholic and abusive father, his childhood was filled with horrors. At seventeen a small light comes into his life, but a year later, to try to find a way to secure his younger sister's future and move away from his complicated family situation, he will enlist in the Navy. Years later, he will return dark and tormented by the new horrors he witnessed on the battlefield. And upon discovering that the woman who owns his heart will soon marry another man, Sniper, as he is known in Notorious Devils MC, will indulge in an existence plagued by the most terrible nightmares. Which he will try to numb with booze and sex.

When these two lives collide again, love and passion reappear. However, it will not be easy to see this relationship flourish. People who suffered terrible abuse and survived. Broken lives, full of fear, hurt and guilt, with distorted images of themselves and the world. People with big problems to trust themselves and others. The couple will walk a long, winding and painful path to the longed happiness.

A good book with some small holes. But despite the ups and downs, well written and with great development. The author mixes Stella's sweetness, with hot, electrifying, and emotionally intense scenes, making the book almost impossible to drop. A story about fresh starts and second chances, filled with hot, tattooed bikers like only Hayley Faiman can do.

Well this is one hell of an MC f**ked up ride! I was looking forward to Bates, I thought he was going to be one sweet guy haha how wrong I was, maybe in a previous life! There was a lot that got me angry about this book. The lead being one giant asshole jerk, repeatedly, to his so called love of his life, love of his soul. And if I had of been playing the lead heroine I would have handed him his ass and he would not have seen me for dust! However, his well hung junk had mesmerizing capabilities, every time he got it out the h went mute and melted into a puddle ready for anything he wanted to do to her!
I'm afraid I just didn't buy how devoted he was to her and how much he loved her when every other minute he was thinking about other "pussy". It was a long hard road for both of them, but by the end of the book he seemed to have got his head straight, problem is the heroine should never been around long enough to witness it!
I'm going to read the next book because I'm thinking, surely Johnny can't be as bad as Bates, we'll see!

It's been a while since I've read an MC book but damn, I've missed it's gripping rawness.

I have read the first book so long ago that I can't remember if Brent was in it, but well, she's Kent's little sister and the one that got away from Sniper. Or the one he pushed away before he joined the Marines. They were crazy in love but she was just a kid at the time and he left her, letting her live her life.
That didn't turn out so well for her. She married a seemingly perfect man at just nineteen, but her life quickly took a turn for the worst. He was cruel and abusive and now that he put his hands on their little girl, she's had enough. She leaves the jackass and turns to Kent and Fury for protection.
That's when Sniper comes back into the picture, ready to step up and get his girl back. But it's been ten years and they have both changed so much.

I liked it a hell of a lot, but can't say they both didn't get on my nerves from time to time, letting their insecurities almost ruin what they have.

Sniper and Brentlee are teenage sweethearts. When they meet up again it's because she's in trouble and needing protection from the MC. Will they be able to quit fighting the attraction and be able to convince the other that they belong together.

Honestly don't like this series as much as her other

Sniper and Brentlee were high school sweethearts until he leaves for the service. She end up marrying an abusive lawyer. She leaves him and runs to the club. They have a rocky road.

Now I'm not sure if I will read more of the series because again you have more sex than plot. So I don't even enjoy it and start skimming.

Josie's Review

I am in love with the men and women of Notorious Devils MC. We met Brentlee and Sniper back in the first book and I will admit I was looking forward to their story. Rough and Raw is filled with everything I love and look for in a story. It’s filled with angst, regret, drama and second chances. Of course it is not a MC story if we do not have grit and a crazy delusion sweet butt. Once I started reading this it was impossible for me to put it down. From the prologue to the epilogue the author had me completely hooked.

I love how this author brought us back to the beginning during the early days between Brentlee and Bates aka Sniper. After I read their prologue I could feel just how raw and deep their love for one another ran. Sniper never denied his love and need for her. Even years later when he knew that in order to give her a better chance at life it would cost him the love of his life. Watching Brentlee get move on with her tore him apart. When Brentlee and her daughter flee her abusive husband and seek protection from the MC, Sniper sees this has his second chance with Brentlee.

Being abused physically, sexually and mentally by the hands of her husband has left her a broken woman and my heart broke for her. The once feisty, fearless and adventurous girl is gone. But if we are being honest, she lost herself years ago when Sniper severed all ties with her. Brentlee is lost and has been hardened after living through what she’s gone through.

Sniper was nothing at all what imagined. This tough, rough and mean biker was immediately putty when Brentlee walks back into his life. I loved him completely. Seeing this bad a$$ biker vulnerable, open and completely in love with Brentlee and her daughter stole my heart. He was loyal, patient, caring and protective of the two women that owned him. I loved how much he wanted them and wasn’t afraid to show how much they meant to him.

Brentlee and Sniper have a long road ahead of them. Both their pasts threaten to take away their second chance at happiness. What I loved most about Brentlee and Sniper was how they both felt unworthy of each other. They were both damaged but together they were exactly what the other needed. I love how much Sniper stopped at nothing to keep Brentlee and her daughter Stella safe. Even when he made mistakes, his passion and remorse won me over every time. I loved seeing Brentlee’s growth through the story and I really admired her strength. Sniper always owned her heart, she just needed to be strong enough to learn to live again.

Rough and Raw was just as the title suggests. It was rough, raw and beautifully tragic. This author did an amazing job creating two characters that weaved their way into my heart. The words and plot of their story were so well written that I felt like I experienced everything the characters did. This is a series that I look forward to reading and I am glad we will get to see more of these characters in future books. If you love a good, dirty, raw and panty melting MC read than this is your book.

Title:Rough and Raw
Author: Hayley Faiman
Series: Notorious Devils MC #2

Rough and Raw by Hayley Faiman was a dark and dirty 5+ star read.
Romance, Rough and tender MC Alphas, Hot sex scenes

I can’t say enough about Hayley Faiman and her writing. I once again felt really drawn in with her writing. Bates became a fast favorite of mine even though he was a little on the Rough side in the beginning.

This is Brentlee and Bate’s story told in alternating POV.
Brentlee had to say goodbye to Bate’s at the age of 15 when he joined the military. He eventually cut all ties with her forcing her to move on, however when he returns to see what her life has become he is very disappointed in his choices.

I told her once that I didn’t have a heart because I gave it to her. She still owns it all these years later. Always has and always will.

When Brentlee takes a stand against her abusive husband and leaves for good with their daughter she heads to the Notorious Devil's clubhouse for protection. This is where she comes face-to-face with Bate’s, the man who broke her heart. But seeing him again brings everything rushing back.

I’m too damaged to ever deserve this man. Too broken. Too grotesque.

Brentlee quickly finds out what a true family should be like when she’s with Bates and the club. Being reunited with her sister is another huge plus for her. I loved how Bates was with Stella, Super Sweet.

I can’t deny I want him I couldn’t even if I tried. It’s always been him, just as he says it’s always been me. We’re like magnets drawn to each other. I’m just not sure how we will end up.

This story has so much more that I don’t want to give away. I loved seeing all of the MC guys again and catching up with LeeLee. There is a lot of action and hot sex. I have to say that Hayley does an awesome job with the sex scenes and the dirty talking biker. I’m not sure where she gets her inspiration but keep it up. I have had the pleasure of reading all of Hayley’s books and they keep getting better and better. She doesn’t hold back on language, sex, and a little darkness. She puts herself out there with her writing and I LOVE IT. More authors need to take this same attitude. I like the dirty talking, bad boy, dominant male and Brent really fits that to a tee. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Rough and Raw can be read as a stand alone but don’t be foolish, go and get “Rough and Rowdy Book #1 and get started today. Recommended 18+ readers due to some of the content.

Thank you Hayley for another great read. I can’t wait to see whats next.

This was a good read and very entertaining. It made me a little sad though. I really liked Bates in the first book but in this one which is his and Brentlee's story he's quite a jerk.

Brentlee Johnson was head over heels in love with Bates since she was a young teenager, and thought they would be together forever. When he left for Marine Boot Camp, he cut all ties with her, thinking it would be better for her to move on. But he broke her heart completely, which left her partying too much, and sleeping around to get over him. Brentlee finally settled down, and let her parents talk her into marrying a man that she didn't love, and it turned into a nightmare. Brentlee has been physically abused since after the honeymoon, and has never been brave enough to leave him, until the day he crossed a line she couldn't ignore. So she finally turns to her sister, Kentlee, who's married to the president of the Notorious Devils MC, Fury. When she meets them, she's shocked to run into the man she never stopped loving. Bates "Sniper" Lukin became a member of the Notorious Devils MC, after retiring from the marines, and has never stopped thinking about that girl he left behind. The demons he now battles on a daily basis, has him convinced that he's not good enough for her anymore. But when she escapes her nightmare husband to get help on his turf, he becomes determined to protect her, and fix what he broke in the process. Will he be able to convince her to give a second chance?

This author is simply EPIC! She will ever be my girl crush, plus there isn't a book of hers out that I didn't love every minute of, and I've read them ALL! The character development is fantastic, and the colorful cast of secondaries are perfect in all their rough glory. Simmering chemistry that made me jealous, quickly ignited into FIERY FLAMES of panty meltin' to ashes, sexy scene goodness that was never enough. Hayley Faiman has earned her brilliant writing style status by being able to write hit after hit, about anything she wants to, like a boss. Her diabolical mind never fails to send me on a emotional ride that always has me screaming potty words, and calling her colorful metaphors. Twists and turns kept me on my toes, and made for EPIC OMG moments that just about made my head explode, and in between all the chaos and sexy, well placed humor had me rolling until my sides hurt. I will always end with this about this author, I CANNOT WAIT for any of her next books, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Rough and Raw, this is absolutely the perfect title for this book. It was filled with raw emotion from the prologue. As a matter of fact, I think this is the first prologue that has brought me to tears. Both Brent and Bates' emotions were raw and exposed from the start. From the day Bates Lukin left his one and only love, Brentlee Johnson and told her she had his heart, but needed to move on and live her life, to the day years later when she came to The Notorious Devil’s MC seeking protection from her abusive husband emotions were all over the place in this second novel in the Notorious Devils MC Series. My heart broke for these two on several occasions.
Brentlee used to be a sassy girl with a quick wit and always said what was on her mind. That is until she married the worst mistake of her life and lived several years being broken down by the man she vowed to spend the rest of her life with. When she came to the MC seeking protection in the form of her sister’s husband, the president of the club, the last person she expected to see was Bates Lukin. From the moment Bates saw Brentlee in the club, he vowed he would do whatever it took to get his “tigresta back.
I fell in love with Bates in Rough and Rowdy, book 1 in the Notorious Devil's MC Series. He was a good guy who took care of others. In Raw I got to see more layers of this man, and I loved every layer exposed. Bates is protective and passionate. He has a “don’t mess with me side as well as a sweet side he reserves only for Brentlee. Even when he was at his worst, I still loved the damaged man who just wanted the love of a good woman. He didn't feel like he was good enough for someone as sweet as Brentlee, but he tried his best to get her back, and prove that real men love and protect.
Rough and Raw is filled with panty melting sexy-time, times that will melt your heart and frustrating times that have you yelling out loud. If any two people deserve a HEA it is Bates and Brent, and their HEA is definitely one to remember.
Rough and Raw is another 5 star read from Hayley Faiman.

Rough and Raw was the first book that I've read from Hayley Faiman, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the second book in the series, Notorious Devils MC #2. Obviously the books can be read as a standalone however, I will tell you that I plan to read the first book in the series because I enjoyed this book so much. A MC book is a MC book right? Wrong! This story was unlike any other I have read. The storyline was so different it grabbed me from the first words in the book. I was hooked.

Brentlee met Bates when she was super young teenage young he was a bit older. Old enough to leave her to join the Marines. Although Brentlee offered to wait for him, Bates wouldn’t allow this. He felt she needed to live her life and enjoy every moment of it. Bates did join the Marines and as he retired, he joined the Notorious Devils. He always thought of Brentlee as the one he lost.

Brentlee did get married and have a child but her life was anything but picture perfect. Her husband was abusive. When she made the decision to leave she went to the Notorious Devils for help ( you’ll read why during the story). What she didn’t imagine was Bates “Sniper Lukin coming to the rescue. Not only did he rescue Brentlee but also her daughter Stella. I LOVED Stella I immediately fell in love with her! Bates became the protector over these two! Brentlee was so afraid of her husband finding her and killing her. Will he find her? What will happen? The suspense keeps you swiping the pages as quickly as you can!

Will Bates reconnect with Brentlee and give her the picture perfect life? Come on people, this is a MC book! Sheesh! You are going to have drama with a capitol D.

4 Stars from me! I received a complimentary copy of Rough and Raw in exchange for an honest review. Can’t wait to read Rough and Rowdy as it’s the first book in this series!

I was so excited when I started reading Bates and Brentlee's story. But this ending up being more of a 3.5 star read rather than the 5 star I thought it was going to be. I'll explain in a little bit.

Brentlee's life is a mess, as she and her daughter escapes the clutches of her abusive husband. She runs to the only place she knows where she will be safe, the Notorious Devils MC. Once there she comes face-to-face with her first love, the man who broke her heart into a million little pieces when she was a teenager.

Bates threw Brentlee away when they were younger. A decision he thought was right for her, but he's regretted ever since. Back from serving in the military, he suffers from horrible nightmares from the war and his family life growing up. And he can only rid himself of these demon by using women sexually. But the moment he lays eyes on Brentlee again, he decides she's his again. So is her daughter.

Okay so know is the time I explain why I didn't give this book a higher rating. Bates...damn I loved that man...he's rugged, sexy, alpha and he rides a motorcycle. He does whatever he can to protect Brentlee and her daughter. Swoony. But then something goes down (or I should say someone), that breaks her faith in him. And that's where it all kind of went downhill for me.

He realizes his mistake after awhile, but for me it was too late. The damaged had been done and he didn't ever really make it up to her. He just kind of kept telling her she HAD to trust him, that he wouldn't hurt her anymore, but then he'd have a stripper crawling on his lap. No, nothing happened, but still. And I just couldn't get MY emotional connection back with these two.

Other than that, I still LOVED Hayley's writing style, and I still look forward to reading the next novel in the series, especially after reading the excerpt for the next instalment.

4.5 star

I was pulled right into this story. This story contains heartbreak, pain, second chances, secrets, danger, and suspense.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Rough and Rowdy (Notorious Devils MC, #1)

This is Brentlee and Bates's story. Brentlee has always followed the rules. She is married to someone she knew was not really for her. Years after marrying for the wrong reasons she leaves him. She runs to the only family she can trust to help her, her sister. Brentlee needs the MC’s protection but there is one she does not want. Bates pushed her away years ago. She can’t let him close for him to destroy her again. When he pushed her away years ago it was into the arms of the man she married. They both have so much past baggage you have to wonder if they can even be friends at this point. What happens when old feelings just will not go away? Hearts were given to each other years ago and then shattered. Can they try again or will her husband make sure that does not happen?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

I'm speechless. Completely f*ing speechless.
But not in a good way. Oh no no no. The big ass problem I have is Bates, our hero. What the hell is wrong with this dude? Threating the heroine like that, after the things she went through? Who the f*ing hell does that?! And then claiming that he loves her so much that he

There are so many situations in this book where I just wanted to give him f*ing bitch slap.
And what makes me so very sad is that I actually really liked him in the first book.
But I will read the next book simply because Faiman's style of writing is so good and I still have hope left that there'll be one hero that is not an asshat in this series.

In the past, I jumped at any opportunity to read a Motorcycle Club romance story. But as they got more popular among writers, they lost their uniqueness, so I stopped devouring them as I used to. It's been a while since I've been totally mesmerized by this kind of story and Rough and Raw did that for me! The story had everything you could as for in an MC story ... it had passion and suspense, intensity and grit and most of all it was scorching hot between our leads!

Haylay Faiman is an author to keep on your radar. She brings a story to life with prose that will captivate you and put you inside the story. She will suck you in with believable characters and situations and most of all she keeps you interested in the overall arc of the motorcycle club.

I really like the Notorious Devils and look forward to reading much more about them!
