Okay I read it until the sex scene between the h, a friend of the heroes, and the heroine. The H and his friend did this all the time so they had a routine that worked for it. Omg! This is not a romance. I am just so disappointed. There is a sex club and they like public sex and sharing and real bdsm stuff, not just kinda. I have no idea how this ended up on my recs!!!!oh well shower time and a Garwood and a mind cleanse! Just awful

I am a huge fan of romantic suspense and the author really brings it with this one. Even the title of the book is so perfect with the story and we also get an understanding Marco “Polo DeAngelis, one of the Sexy Six Pack ex Navy SEAL that is a member of Trident Security. As with all the other books in the series, each one can be read as a stand alone as the author does a wonderful job in filling us in on all the characters from the earlier books, but I personally would recommend you reading the prior books to get more in touch with each team member. The interaction and connection they share is awesome and the way the author writes she really brings that out in each book.
Marco did not have an easy childhood and because of that childhood, he never wanted to have any long term relationship let alone children. Sure all his buddies have been finding the love of their lives and he is happy for them, but it is just not for him. Then when his sister, his only blood relative dies of cancer, he finds one night of comfort in the arms of his sister’s best friend, Harper Williams. Sure Marco and Harper have know each other prior to this night, but it was just as friends as Harper totally knew Marco’s standpoint on relationships and kids. Over a year after his sister’s death and not having spoken to Harper since the night of the funeral, he is surprised when Trident gets a call from a local cop who tells hom about a home invasion at Harper’s home. What he learns is something that is going to change his life. What is going on with his sister's best friend? Was this just a random home invasion or is someone after Harper? The team does what they do best and sets out to figure this out and protect Harper until they know the truth.
I really feel like the author does an excellent job with her research. She has Trident Security located in Tampa, FL and being from the area, I find she does know the area from Tampa to Clearwater to Wesley Chapel which makes it more real for me. Even if your not for the area, the suspense of the cases really will keep you on the edge, finding it very difficult to put the book down. As with all the books in the series, the guys have each other's backs and when they so don’t agree with a decision they tell it like it is, like the one scene where Brody totally disagrees with Marco’s comments and actions were great. I feel like I know these guys and am getting to know the new members as well. The way the author writes in the third person allows us to really stay in contact with everyone and know what is going on with them making this not just a book focused on Marco and Harper but all of them as they interact with each other. It feels very realistic. Of course each of the books deals with some type of issues from the guys childhood as well as their lives in the BDSM lifestyle, but the way it is written it flows. There were some great twists as well that added to the already great story. I am not looking forward to the series ending as this group of characters feel like they are friends. I am really hoping that each of the new team will be getting a book that will also keep us in contact with the original Trident team.

Didn't care for this book, although that's mostly a personal preference rather than too much to do about the plot and/or the writing. Before starting it, I hadn't realized how heavily this series leans toward the D/s lifestyle; while I don't mind a little dominance and bondage in my novels, I really don't care for the whole "call me Master, be subservient and sit at my feet" thing, which this book had. Truthfully, once I found this out, I just skimmed the rest of the book so I can't in good faith give a review as to the actual story.

This series is freaking awesome!! Like really, really awesome!! No you don't have to read them in order to understand what is going on, but in my opinion you are really missing out if you haven't read the first ones and I think it is much better as they do have interconnecting characters. Now, let me tell you this book, well this book is even more awesome than the last and I really didn't think that was possible. Each book is fantastic and every time I get to the end I say that was my favorite. Oh hell, I can't pick a favorite they all are my favorites!! I immediately was drawn into Marco and Harper's relationship. Marco and Harper have known each other for years. Harper is Marco's sister's best friend and when Nina (Marco's sister) dies they come together in a night of grief and passion, but Marco has always believed he isn't the husband and father type due to his not so good upbringing so when he is suddenly finds out because Harper is hurt during a home invasion that he is a father to say he doesn't quite know what to do with that is a gross understatement. However, he and all the Trident Security men do what they know how to do and that is to protect the ones they love even if Marco isn't willing to admit he loves Harper or his baby girl. Marco is one of those heroes that you immediately fall in love with and want to strangle him many times throughout the book but eventually he comes around and discovers he isn't as broken and damaged as he thought. Harper is the perfect person for Marco. She is stubborn and strong but loves her daughter more than life itself so even when she is not willing to admit she wants Marco she readily admits that they both need to come together to find out who is trying to kill her and keep their daughter safe. I promise you this book will have you laughing at times, crying in others, and fanning yourself a whole lot. Samantha never disappoints with her sex scenes. HOLY MOLY are they HOT!!! Like panty melting, go take a cold shower hot!! And I can not wait for the next book!! This was easily a 5++ AMAZEBALLS stars for me!

Marco is called to an active scene only to learn a friend is the victim. Then he learns there is a missing baby…a baby that could be his. Has his past come back to haunt his present and future? In Watching From the Shadows, the fifth installment in Samantha A. Cole’s Trident Security series, Marco must face his past to protect his future. I love this series by Ms. Cole. She gives us strong male and female characters and Harper and Marco were no exception.
With his upbringing, Marco was unable to see that he had become a man to be proud of. He allowed the blinders worn by the child he was to give him a distorted view of the man he is. No amount of talking was enough to penetrate his thick skull until his choices are taken from him. His child is at risk and the woman he has fought to forget wants nothing but his protection. I loved how strong Harper is. She has moved beyond the loss of her best friend and embraced motherhood, without Marco. I love that Ms. Cole showed us a woman who was comfortable within her own skin and willing to accept nothing less than her worth. She was willing to accept Marco but on her terms. However, she wasn’t so bitter that she was unwilling to give Marco a chance, with her and her daughter. This story is full of laughter, fear and strong alpha males. Ms. Cole has again written a story in which I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. It was well thought out and wonderfully articulated. It is worth not only your time but also your money.

I just love Marco and Harper's book - they need to figure out who's trying to hurt Harper and when Marco is called because his number is on the fridge at Harper's house, he gets the surprise of a lifetime.

I am a big fan of this series, i mean HUGE fan since the first book: Leather & Lace (Devon & Kristen) His Angel (Ian & Angie) Waiting For Him (Boomer & Kat) Not Negotiable A Novella (Parker & Shelby) Topping the Alpha (Jake & Nick)... and now the turn is for Watching From The Shadows (Marco and Harper). this book was amazing the character Marco was a gentleman, a great Dom always taking care and looking after Harper ... Paper was a great character too, she was not the innocent type, she was submissive but more the warrior submissive type.. she was easy to love.. i love how Marco and her really are great for each other.... i love the suspense in the book .. i love that you don't know what is going to happen next .. is not fast is not slow.. the flow in the book is good and you instantly get glued to the story... the characters development is great.. the sex scenes are super hot as all what Samantha writes... it is a book and a series that i highly recommend to those who really like a good BDSM or D/s romance novel ... i can't wait for the rest of the series to come out for sure .... I know I said I love like 100 times but what can I say? I LOVE IT!

Marco “Polo DeAngelis & Harper Williams

I love a secret baby romance. I love BDSM romance. I love romantic suspense. Here we have all three in one.

Finding out your a father when you've vowed to never have kids, nor get married, had to be a shock to the system. With that said, I'll give Marco a pass for being an ass.

How did this come to fruition? Well, Marco & Harper (his sister's best friend) comfort one another with sex after his sister died. In the heat of the moment they have unprotected sex, and failed birth control.

My main problem with this story is why, with all of the security "experts," did no one realize who was behind the attack on Harper? As soon as I heard what happened for Harper to think Marco didn't want to have anything to do with their daughter, it was the first person who popped in my head.

There are too many of you guys with brawn and brains for this person to not have even been a blip on your radar at first.

Five Spanking Stars!
Have I said I love the Trident Security Series before, if I have forgive me for my repetition ! I can't help myself , what is not to love about a group of sexy dominant former navy seals and their assorted friends ? Of course what type of security team would they without having someone to guard, protect or rescue or all of the above which only serves to keep me further engrossed in the story!
Sooooo with my gushing out of the way, I should probably tell you a little about our hero Marco DeAngelis, former Navy Seal, Dom at The Covenant an alternate lifestyle club and the best in Tampa.
Marco does not come from your typical suburban family background he grew up not knowing his
Father or the father of his sister Nina, they lost their mother to drugs at a young age and wound up,with their grandmother who was not much bette with her alcohol , gambling and smoking.mso it is no surprise that Marco wants nothing to do with a wife or family and especially now that he knows the hurt of loosing someone he loved, his sister Nina to cancer.
Marco's whole work is about to change however, thanks to one night spent with Nina's best freind Harper. The night they buried Nina; Marco and Harper spent a wild night working out their grief in each other's arms after which they both returned to there own lives . A few weeks later Harper tried to reach out to Marco but the phone was blocked, so where the lines for the rest of the team and calling the office and trying to reach him through the secretary impossible . Soon after Harper received a letter from Marco telling her to stop contacting him, that he did not care and wanted nothing to do with her.
Fifteen months later when the Tampa police call Trident security looking for Marco because they found his business card in Harpers home after responding to a home invasion and Harper is injured and her baby missing, Marco is floored Harper hurt and she has a baby and the sudden thought that it could possibly be his has him floored and mad as hell that she never called.
Marco and the team members rush to the site and arrive just in time to see Harpers mother coming back with the baby and once Karen sees Marco she lays into hm asking what he wants and what he did, telling him he wanted nothing to do with Harper or baby Mara months ago what the hell is he doing now, that and one look at the little girl with the same eyes as him only confirms for him even more that the baby is his and as far as he is concerned Harper has a lot of explaining to do when she comes to after being hit over the head during the home invasion!
Marco had no idea Harper tried reaching out , sure he thought it was a little odd that he had not heard from her after that night , one that he had fantasized many a night about but even though the sex was great figure it was just as well since he was in the Dom/ sub lifestyle and Harper was vanilla, plus it was clear she was a women who would want marriage and family and that was my for him.
However now, being a man of honor and genuinely caring for Harper he and the team set about making her home a safe place so Harper and their bay will have a secure place to go to when she can leave the hospital; unfortunately as Marco discovers going to get the mail for Harper it is not as safe as the team thought it was when he steps on a land mine. What seems like hours of standing still while his buddy Boomer disable the land mine , Harper is rushed to the safety of Tridents compound
Which is where her, her mother and Mara will stay until the team can find whoever is trying to kill Harper.
Days turn into weeks and having Harper and Mara with him, having family to come home too has changed Marco's outlook on marriage and family and he is determined to make Harper see that he really wants it all even if he has to give up his D/ s life or maybe she would consider trying the lifestyle, but he is determined to work it out His sister Nina must be laughing her head off at him from heaven right about now !
As it turns out while having a get together at the compound it slips out from another couple that where excited to see Harper since that had not seen her since they started attending " the Covennant " instead of Heat, the second best Bdsm club in Tampa that Harper is apparently already in the lifestyle , Dom Marco comes to life and takes his sub, whether she knows it or not for a conversation! Things go from electric to out right sizzling fire from that point on!
So will these two work it out?
Will they find who is trying to hurt Harper?
Will we get a Hea?
Arc graciously provided by author for an honest review!

Watching From The Shadows (Trident Security Book 5) by Samantha A. Cole

Where do I even begin?! Samantha A. Cole’s writing captivates you from the beginning. You will not want to put any of her books down until they are done, well that’s the case with me anyways. She has become one of my top authors! Watching From the Shadows is Marco and Harper’s story. Each book in this series is about a different member of the Sexy Six-Pack team, that is one aspect that I love about reading this series. I love how each book connects to each other and you can also read as a standalone since Samantha tells you detailed info about the smokin hot guys.

Marco ‘Polo didn’t have the best childhood so he decided a long time ago he didn’t want a wife or children. He was a Dom at the BDSM club the guys belonged to the Covenant. Harper Williams was Marco’s sister’s best friend. When she passed a year ago at the funeral they hooked up. Unbeknownst to Marco, she was pregnant and had a baby. The story unfolds with action packed of someone trying to hurt Harper. That’s when the guys do their job and protect each other. There is action, BDSM scenes, love, hope, suspense all in this book. This book also made me laugh at some points. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. Never a dull moment.

Parts of the story I liked:
All of it, the beginning-middle and end! So here are a few quotes that I liked:
“It’s colder than a witch’s tit out here.
“I think Mara would love to have a father to take her to ballgames, play catch, and teach her to fish. She also needs a man to show her how a woman is supposed to be treated, so she knows what to look for in the men she’ll date someday. Someone she can look up to and respect because he’s a good man. He doesn’t have to be perfect because that’s unrealistic-nobody’s perfect. As long as she knows she can go to him when she needs comfort or help with a problem…or a burden…then I think she’ll have a damn good father.

“She said everyone was entitled to their own happily-ever-after, but it was up to us to want it and demand it. If we wanted it badly enough, we could look beyond our past and embrace our future. (This is my favorite)

I’d recommend this book to anyone that loves an action packed story with sexy men, and love.

This is the fifth book in the Trident Series and while it can be read as a stand-alone it does give away things that happened in previous books and therefore should be read in order.

Marco "Polo" DeAngelis is a former Navy Seal and current member of Trident Security. After his sister died recently he is ready to live his life as a DOM and not get attached to any woman. Growing up he had a difficult childhood and doesn't feel like he would be an adequate father.

Harper Williams was best friends with Nina, Marco's sister and shared her grief with Marco one night yet was completely shut out from him after that. When she is attacked in her house and the baby is missing Marco must get his head together and figure out what is going on.

Harper is a lawyer and has worked in many cases allowing women to escape domestic abuse so could someone be after her from there? As Trident Security sets up a watch on Harper will Marco figure out how he feels about Harper and if he is ready for what she is offering? Will Marco be able to figure out who is after Harper in order to save her or will they be one step ahead?

EEK!! This one is great and there was definitely some holy wow moments!!

Marco was in for the shock of his life when he finds out about Harper and Mara and I loved his reaction and then the reaction of Brody to him. That scene was awesome between them in the parking lot and I loved Brody even more at that moment! It took awhile for Marco to come around but I am so glad he did and the YouTube video scene was awesome!! Laughed so hard!

I loved Harper and completely understood why she was so mad at Marco and felt like he had abandoned her and Mara. She always wanted to keep her distance from Marco knowing that they didn't want the same things in life. She is a strong character and really doesn't want to let the threat control her life.

No spoilers allowed but some people are crazy!!

I also love how the team is growing and we are getting introduced to more new characters. The author does such a good job with introducing them that you feel like they are immediately part of the team and want to know more and more about them.

Can't wait to see what's next for Trident Security!!

Get ready for the “Sexy Six Pack from Trident Security and I’m not talking about abs ladies because these hot dominant men have eight packs! The Trident Security Series has just the right balance of romance, mystery, and hot kinky sex. Each Page is filled with steamy chemistry and keep you guessing suspense. I love the strong sassy submissives who bring light and love into the lives of this group of dark, dangerous, alpha men. Each and every story is written in such a way you fall in love with the characters and feel part of their lives. Every book is panty melting and always leaves you wanting more. Good thing it’s a series! You better buy the whole set because you won’t want to waste any time between books.

Maro “Polo DeAngelis has lost his sister Nina to her long battle with cancer and her best friend Harper has been there the whole time. It’s not until her funeral that they seek comfort in each other’s arms. One night of passion together and then no communication for a year. Sure he has had jobs to do and she moved out of town but they have always held each other in the back of their minds. Now Harper was attacked and someone is trying to end her life. Marco does the only thing he can do, keeps her close and protects her. Will the secrets they keep and the time that has passed be too much to give them their happy ending? Can people really change, because Marco and Harper’s lives are as different as Vanilla and Rocky Road.

I was lucky enough to be given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I must recommend you buy all the books in the series because you won’t want to waste any time getting to the next one.

Harper was Marco's deceased sister's BFF. The night of her funeral, they used each other to forget their grief for one night. Now thirteen months have passed and they haven't seen each other again. Marco receives a call: a woman has been attacked and found unconscious in her home. When he discovers that the woman is Harper he worries instantly but worry turns into shock when he learns that Harper has a 5-months-old baby daughter. As soon as Marco lays eyes on the baby, there is no doubt in his mind that the baby is his. Why Harper never told him?
He confronts her only to find out that she never managed to reach him and she then received a letter from him claiming that he didn't want anything to do with the child.
Now someone is after Harper and she and her baby Mara, are moved in at the compound of Trident Security where they are going to live with Marco.
Marco never wanted a wife or children but with each passing days his love for both girls is growing.

I liked this story. I liked that Harper is already in the lifestyle and knows what she wants. It was a nice change. I was glad to read more about the whole team and especially Devon and Kristen. I am curious to know who the next settlement will be about...
Brody or Carter, pretty please!!!
In this book we are also introduced to a few new memebers, and I wa spleasantly surprised to discover two women. I can't wait to learn more about them!

This is book 5 in the Trident Security Series and what an awesome series it is!

I actually think each book could stand on it's own but I don't think you'd actually realize how great of a series it is without reading the books in order as one of the best things about this series is you revisit all the characters in each book and you see how their lives are progressing along.

Marco's story is book 5. We are re-introduced to Harper, who was his deceased sister Nina's best friend. They have known each other for years and acted on that attraction when they were both grieving. Marco has made it very clear because of his past that he isn't husband/father material.

I'm not going to say too much about what goes on in the book because I get so caught up that I will give out spoilers. I will say that this book has everything that your could want in a book, the relationship dynamics, the sizzling sex, the intrigue, the suspense (seriously there was a part in this book that I was sitting on the edge of my seat trying to get to the ending faster saying 'OMG, OMG') and a surprise BDSM factor for Marco that just proves Harper is his perfect match.

I love how the Trident Security Men don't put up with each other's crap and when one of them is doing stupid stuff or thinking stupid stuff they call them on it. What a great close knit group this is.

I always think when I finish a book in this series that this series can't get any better and then the next book comes out and it does!

This is another great love story and suspenseful action packed story in the Trident Security Series! Marco has always been a quiet and mysterious member of the team and I love that we finally got to know him! The team must figure out who would want to hurt Harper, and if Harper is even the real target of these attacks. Harper is a lawyer and help domestic abuse victims start new lives through the "Friends of Patty" organization, plus she has a history with Marco 'Polo' DeAngelis so the list of possible suspects is quite extensive. Marco also finds out he has a daughter whom he never knew about, while Harper believed Marco knew and sent her a letter saying he wanted nothing to do with them. Who would want Harper to believe that? Does Marco want to be a father, or a husband? How could he be with Harper when he is in the BDSM lifestyle she isn't? Samantha A. Cole takes us on a wonderfully suspenseful ride and answers all of our questions! I can't wait for the next Trident Security installment!

Plenty of suspense in this story starting from the first page, a few surprises a long the way as well. Marco always comes across as the most compassionate of the Trident Dom's, it's great to finally get his story even though we have had a few snippets in the past. We know he lost his sister to cancer and he took it hard, here we find out a bit more about his early life with her. Harper as well she was his sisters best friend and went through the cancer battle with them both. A bit of time has past with Marco not having heard from Harper since the funeral, a phone call changes everything. WE get some violence and bombs, the new team is in play as well getting in on the action as well as protection detail. Tension, love and some sweetness make this book a bit special there is also a hot scene that gets played out. Great reading as always from Samantha, I cant believe this is book five already. I'm hoping there is still lots more to come because I love this series and all the characters in it.

I had some issues with this one. Marco, who I usually love, was a huge jerk in the beginning. He straight up out loud calls his 5 month old baby a brat and a mistake. That is hard to come back from for me. I needed to see a little more remorse before going forward. There was a lot going on in this one too. I had a hard time keeping things straight and having Kristen's pov thrown in a few times interrupted the flow of the story. I wish it could have been worked in a different way.

I really loved this story, it is definitely my favourite of the series. Which surprised me as I'm not really a fan of stories where a child is kept secret from a parent. Although that really was only a small part of the overall story and one that really hooked me in, and kept me entertained.

Along with the renewed relationship that developed between Harper and Marco and a really well balanced suspense element, which kept me guessing for at least 60% of the book, but then I did guess who was behind it, only to have the author reveal it, just two chapters later. Never mind though, it didn't stop me from loving it and the last part in particular had my heart pounding. Which is always a good thing and I'm looking forward to reading more from this series in the future and would happily recommend this one to others too.

5 stars. Another fantastic read in what is now one if my favourite series. It's the turn of Marco 'Polo' DeAngelis to find his true love, although according to Polo he will never settle down marry and defi itely no kids! After his only family is tragically taken from him he and his sister's best friend who helped them both to the end find solace in each others arms for one night. Thirteen months later Trident receive a call from the police to attend a crime scene where a woman has been assaulted in her home. From here on out we are taken on a rollercoaster ride of suspense, action, unexpected emotions and plenty of steam. I laughed out loud at the 'YouTube' scene absolutely brilliant. Now there are a growing number to the team and the team Jake is heading up on the West coast I am hoping this series will run and not end after Brody and Carter's stories. Another highly recommended read

Marco "Polo" DeAngelis is stunned when he gets a call from the police, telling him that his ex-girlfriend Harper Williams has been attacked and her baby is missing, especially since he never knew he was a father. Harper had tried to tell him about the pregnancy, but her phone calls were blocked and her letters went unanswered, she assumed he rejected her and decided to raise her baby alone. However, Harper isn't out of danger yet, and they also need to figure out who stopped Harper from letting Marco know he was going to be a father.

It's the ever popular "secret baby" plot line, but in this case there are good reasons why Marco didn't know he was a father (and it's not Harper's fault). The resolution of the plot neatly ties up loose ends, with strong action and tender romance between our lovely couple.

This is one of my favourite of the Trident books so far. Marco and Harper have such a wonderful connection and unaware at first an even bigger non vanilla connection. Their love for Mara is overwhelming and their shared bond over Marci's late sister is beyond special. Oh and I Love how the team and their families all stick together, what a family to be part of. Thanks Samantha A Cole for another incredible book.

Harper and Marco, second chance love.

I am so in love with the Trident series. Harper and Marco's story is just another reason to love this series. It wouldn't be a Trident book without some sort of case with many of the Trident security gang involved. Which is a plus in my book, I love catching up with the crew. Even with all the obstacles in their way, it seems like Harper and Marco will get their happily ever after. I can't wait to read what comes next. This is a must read series.

I love the guys from Trident! I cannot get enough of their alpha ways and their skill at keeping those they love safe and secure. Marco swore he would never marry or have kids. He is not meant for that kind of life. When Harper, best friend to his sister who recently died, needs his help, Marco is faced with life changing events. Enjoy this story as we discover what is important in life. I also enjoyed the involvement of the rest of the guys from Trident.

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review and I thought that book was awesome. I haven't read any of the other books in this series but after reading this one I will be picking them up. I thought this book was excellently written and thought out. Even though I am not into BDSM, I still found this book very enjoyable. For my full view check out this webpage.
