Tally is a twenty-year-old single mother struggling to finish nursing school. Has she made mistakes in life? Sure, but her daughter isn’t one of them. She works hard, she studies even harder, and she’s only a few weeks away from graduating. She’s living her life the best she knows how when she witnesses a near miss motorcycle accident between a car and a biker. A biker that happens to be the most talked about teacher at her college.
The moment she meets those startling blue, narrowly-escaped-death eyes, she realizes quickly that life as she knows it has changed. No longer will she be content to let life pass her by, even if it puts everything she’s worked so hard for in jeopardy.

Tommy is a highly skilled doctor. A teacher. A veteran. A fully-patched member of The Dixie Wardens MC. He’s lonely, but also set in his ways. What will it take for this man to accept that he needs to make some changes in his life? Apparently, it’ll take a guy in a truck, who’s preoccupied with his phone rather than focused on the road, nearly plowing into him on his bike at seventy miles per hour. Oh, and a twenty-something year old nursing student witnessing the entire thing from only a few feet away.
It only takes a second, a single heartbeat in time, as he looks into her worry-filled eyes to realize that he’d give anything for a single night with her. He may lose his job in the process, but after that one incredible night turns into an amazing weekend, he knows it’s worth the risk for the promise of her forever.
Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
This author always has hot covers and this one is no different. Good composition. Eye-catching typography (because I KNOW that's what you all are looking at.) Yummy cover indeed.
I haven't read a book by this author in a while. Her recent ones all seem to have these OTT melodramatic situations, but I heard good things about this one so I thought I would give it a go.
Well, this was like the anti-melodrama book. Heavy on the ANTI. Unfortunately, this one left me bored for the most part. There were a TON of opportunities to inject some angst into the story, but every time something popped up it was just resolved easy peasy like. Teacher/student relationship...no problem. Dad hates the boyfriend...no problem. Ex boyfriend wants your kid...again...NO PROBLEM.
The only real action came from a crazy person who apparently tried to kill the heroine 13 times in one year. The heroine had NO idea. How spectacularly bad do you have to be at trying to kill someone if you tried for at least once a month for the entire year and NO ONE has noticed??!!
Now I will say the hero was totes adorbs with the baby, but the couple ain't going to be winning any excitement awards.
O...M...G... Fear the Beard is pure Lani Lynn Vale PERFECTION!!! Brilliantly written storyline (forbidden romance, one of my favs), kick-ass characters, and unbelievably good love story, that cemented this new series, The Dixie Warden Rejects, my new LLV favorites! The guys are pure gold, in the most delicious bearded package! And let me take a minute of pause her to take a breath and fan myself because, this book should seriously come with a warning: OVARIES EXPLOSION WILL PROBABLY OCURR, because, three words: DR. FREAKING TOMMY! *cue the fanning/cold shower* DR. Bones (sorry, Dr. Tommy, I know you hate that) really is the appropriate nickname for him, hello, sexy package, hot professor vibe, and how he fell at first sight by Tally's little girl! Beyond dreamy!!! It will be hard to top him, it was THAT good! My Lord, Lani sure made things hard, now I don't know if I want Tommy or Kai to myself... Decisions, decisions... Oh, well, I guess I'll take BOTH!!!<3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Tally is a twenty year old single mother who is almost finished with nursing school. She doesn't have time for much more than work, school, and spending time with her daughter. When she learns that Dr. Tommy is her new teacher for her last course she can't help but find him attractive but doesn't believe it will go anywhere.
Tommy maybe a doctor but he is also a member of the Dixie Wardens MC. He pegs Tally the minute she comes to class and he is intrigued with the beautiful woman, the more he finds out about her the more determined he is to pursue her after she graduates. However when they are thrown together with her daughter for a night, everything changes and with it it threatens Tommy's job at the hospital and Tally's chance to graduate.
This was good, had a couple of things that I didn't feel got answered but overall another great read. Liked Tommy, he is a charmer and you never question his devotion to Tally. Tally is young and I think she struggles initially with some choices she makes and communicating that with Tommy. Looking forward to the next book.
Lani Lynn Vale has once again delivered a book that I couldn’t put down!
Fear the Beard has everything I need in a romance: Hot alpha male yep Feisty, independent female - yep Adorable baby yep Strong secondary cast yep Humor yep Off the chart chemistry yep Interesting plot yep Great epilogue yep
Tally has become one of my favorite heroines. She is a young woman doing everything she can to go to nursing school, work to support her daughter, spend quality time with her daughter and to tries to do it with minimal help from others. Tommy, aka Dr. Tommy, aka Dr. Bones, is sexy, sweet, alpha, is in a MC and is the owner of a super-hot beard! He also happens to the doctor in charge on some of Tally’s shifts at the ER where she is interning. Oh and he is the professor for one of her college courses…No big deal right?
WRONG! From the moment they meet Tally and Tommy have an undeniable attraction, at that point neither think they will see each other again, imagine the shock when they find out they are thrust into the roles of student/teacher! Tommy knows that Tally is off limits but he can’t resist wanting her and Tally doesn’t want to risk everything she’s worked so hard for.
Tommy and Tally are perfect together, the supporting cast is loving and funny and there’s a shocker that had my mouth hanging open. Last but in no way least, is Tallulah, she steals every single scene she is in and I absolutely love the instant bond Tommy and Tallulah formed, Big bad Dr. Bones totally melted when Tallulah was around.
I love everything about Fear the Beard! It’s forbidden, funny, sexy, cute and sweet! Add in the epilogue and Fear the Beard makes another great addition to Ms. Vale’s shelf of amazing books!
I got almost halfway through until gross descriptions related to the heroine did me in. I'm unsure how I'm supposed to process TMI. I think it's supposed to be funny, but it just takes me out of the story. Up until the point of removing any physical attractive elements from her, it was cute.

I loved this series, though I'm going to admit that I read this series all right after another while on vacation so it will be hard to review them since it was all one big story to me since i couldn't review in between. I will say that I LOVE this series. I haven't found a series I have been his excited about in a long time. I couldn't put any of these books down and didn't want to finish. thinking that I have to wait for the next two books is so depressing. I can't recommend this series enough it was amazing. I connected with all these characters so much and I loved the heroes who were all possessive and didn't sleep around this this was their last day on earth. I loved all the heroines also. I can't wait for more and I will be looking into other books/series from this author.
Let's start off by saying this is a new author for us and we are so glad to have come across her works. As we are totally in love with this authors books now. OMG what an Awesome read!I loved it ! It was one of those feel good stories that have you smiling throughout it.
I have to say that I was hooked right from the very beginning and could not put the book down until it was finished,I just loved all the character;s.I loved all their different personalities as they added a ton of humor and quite a few laughs to the story.I constantly felt myself laughing and smiling the entire time throughout the story.I loved that Tally was a strong women struggling to create a life for herself and that of her daughter.I loved the plot's romance aspect and how it focused on a single working mom going to school while having and infant daughter .As she was juggling with that of a job, school and raising a daughter on her own and dealing with her relationship with Tommy the Biker/Teacher.I loved how Tommy perused Tally because he admired her strength and that of her beauty.
I love reading MC romance's and this one was so engaging from the beginning .The chemistry this couple had was so amazing they scorched the pages.Their sexual encounters we super hot !
I alway pick a favorite in a story but, this time around I just couldn't pick one so I picked two as there were so many things I loved about them both.I found Tally to be quick witted, strong willed, she had a sense of humor, determination,a big heart, was sweet and caring, had a back bone, and loved with her whole heart and was so protective of her daughter and those she loved.I loved how she and Tommy had this amazing friendship before they became lovers. These two formed an instant connection from the onset but acting on their growing attraction comes with consequences .Their relationship is that of the forbidden kind of that of teacher and student and yet they are having a very hard time keeping their hand off one another.Tally was just one of those characters that you can't help but love and admire she was just so sweet and kind you just wanted to hug her.
Favorite scene with Tally in it was when her and her friends where in a bar and decided to let off steam so they entered a vibrator race. From the beginning of this scene to the ending of it I laughed non stop.
I could not help but fall in love with Tommy from the very beginning. What did that for me was how he totally fell in love with Tally's daughter and never saw that child as a complication to their growing relationship.I found him to be love-able,sexy,kind,possessive,had a sense of humor, was sensitive, smart, caring and could be lethal when he needed to be.I loved that he had the sweet and kind thing going on along with that bad boy vibe.I just loved his interactions with Tally and that of her daughter. And the best of all is that one thought of him can get a girls panties wet. ...(smiles)
Favorite scene with Tommy in it was when he sat their and told Tally that he went and got Tallulah her own shit for his place and how he can't go into a store without picking something up for her all the while of never getting what her went to get in the first place. My heart melted right then and there ...
I loved everything about this story from cover to cover.I loved the plot, the twists it had,the romance and the ups and downs and the complications that a forbidden relationship comes with.I can't wait to pick up more books in this series. This story goes into the keeper pile.I just love it when an author has written as story that you absolutely loved and has you throughout the day thinking back on that story about something that was said or done long after the stories ending. That was me ! Another moving read that touched my heart with the character's they had in it.
SIGH every time I listen to LLV’s books I question my sanity. This might be even more awful than her other ones. It’s hard to tell when they all suck so much.
Tally (20-yo, nursing student, single mom) has the hots for her teacher/boss, Tommy (33-ish, doctor), and he has the hots for her. They’re not supposed to be together because she’s his student in the nursing program. There’s this big flood where her house is literally swept away (why is it always freaking raining in this town?) and she goes to stay with him at his house and they bump their private parts together.
BTW, they find her house a few miles away and bring it back. I’m not sure how that works. 🤷
We also get the pleasure of her crazy BFF and her ex/baby daddy whose new wife wants to breastfeed their daughter (weird and insane as f*ck).
We spend a LOT of time discussing outfits, floor finishing, sinks, thread count on sheets, baby puke, and other random shit that nobody cares about than we do on anything substantial.
One thing that irked the hell out of me is they’re trying to keep their relationship a secret, but she says something about not wanting to be with him and he goes and gets drunk at the club house and she shows up and claims she’s his girlfriend and just goes about like everything is ok. He should have kicked her ass to the curb.
Also, KIDS = COCKBLOCKERS.
I couldn’t even get hard for Tommy. He’s just ok as far as a leading man goes.
Once again I am in love with ANOTHER Lani Lynn Vale leading man! I feel like I wait on pins and needles every month for one of her books to hit my kindle.
LLV books for me are like Frosted Flakes. So good at the beginning - crunchy, sweet, and a delicious treat. Then if you poured yourself too big a bowl it starts to get soggy and maybe a little slushy. Not a good thing. That's what this book was like. I liked Tally initially. I liked Tommy too. Then they both started getting stupid and bothersome. Don't care how you spin it she was immature and not the sharpest tool in the shed at times. And Tommy.... I get it insta-love/lust, whatever, but he's a doctor and his decision making is stupid. By the end I was just waiting for it to be over.
I'm totally surprised but I loved this book. I usually hate MC books but I decided to give this one a try because I have a deep weakness for teacher/student books and I'm so glad I did. Yes, parts of this were a bit ridiculous but even still, I loved Dr. Tommy! I listened to the audio version of this one and I have to say the male narrator has the sexiest voice! I think I need to check out more by this author!
I enjoyed Fear the Beard more than I expected. LLV books have been hit or miss for me lately. I thought book 1 in the series was good, but not great or anything. With this being a bit of a taboo/student-teacher thing, I wasn't sure I would like it. However, it is well done!
Dr. Tommy is charming and endearing and Tally is sweet and likable. The tension comes mostly from wondering if their relationship will be discovered. There are a few bumps in the road from these two just not talking things out sometimes, but nothing that bothered me a great deal (miscommunication tropes are some of my least favorites!).
What made this book absolutely wonderful in my opinion was the epilogue! So freaking perfect! I just loved it!
The narrators are great! Good accents and engaging voice acting keep me entertained and focused. I am really liking these two narrators and I hope they will continue the series!
POV: dual 1st Tears: no Trope: student/teacher, MC club Triggers:none Series/Standalone: stand alone within an interconnected series Cliffhanger: HEA:
Drumline by Stacy Kestwick, Rebel by Rebecca Yarros...then you will probably like Fear the Beard!
Let me start by saying that I adore the paradoxical nature of this series title and the alpha heroes who grace the pages of its stories. These hardworking men seem to be pillars in the community those willing to do the things that need to be done in order to solve problems and prevent mishaps and while that says a lot about the type of guys they are, their background and past paints a slightly altered version of these fine and upstanding bikers!
Which is exactly why Lani Lynn Vale’s books and heroes are so enticing they’re not afraid to get down and dirty when need be, but they also serve the community and protect those they love with their lives.
Take the alpha of Fear the Beard for example Dr. Tommy aka Dr. Bones is a highly skilled doctor and a well-respected teacher of medicine, but he’s also a patched member of The Dixie Wardens MC; he views all of his roles as important and essential in defining who he is and he wouldn’t alter the steps his life has taken, but this current step in his life has just gotten a whole heck of a lot more complicated because it’s put a twenty year old single mom and nursing student in his path, causing him to take risks that not only threaten his career but his heart as well because a student/teacher relationship is forbidden too bad staying away from her has become impossible.
I absolutely loved Tally; she is quite the walking contradiction, which illustrates her honesty as well as the varying situations she finds herself in, in terms of both her personal and professional life. Her life isn’t easy, and while she does rely on her family to help her with her daughter, Tally works hard to support them and take care of all of her daughter’s needs and she does a damn good job of it despite her less than ideal circumstances.
The relationship that Tommy and Tally build may not be conducive to the dictates of her school, but it’s one that is pretty essential to both of them, even when there’s forced separation so that Tally can graduate.
Fear the Beard continues to showcase Lani Lynn Vale’s ability to create storylines that include the perfect blend of steam, suspense, and drama and based on her description of Dr. Tommy, I completely understand his nickname and his orgasm inducing superpowers;)
I was in a complete book slump until I read Fear the Beard!!! I could not put this book down!! it was amazing!! Tally-single mom to an adorable 8 month old baby girl, works and goes to school full time Dr. Tommy-doctor, teacher and patched in member of the Dixie Wardens MC The chemistry between these two is HOT!!! Like panty melting hot!!! Now throw in Tallulah and OVARIES GO BOOM!!! Fear the Beard held my interest from the very first page to the very last!! Twists and turn around every corner!! Great story line!! Cant wait for the next book in this series!!
Another amazing read by Lani Lynn Vale every time I finish one of her books I need to get my hands on another one and I really really really need to know who Ghost is I have a feeling about who he is but I don't know . After reading Beard Mode I was excited to hear that the next book was Tommys . Love Tally she was funny , smart , and a good mother her adorable little girl just stole not only my heart but everyone that she came into contact with . Tommy was just wow super hot alpha male who can't resist the temptation that is Tally and he will do anything to protect her . They made the perfect couple had off the charts chemistry the sex scenes were super steamy and their banter had me laughing . Of course the secondary characters were lovable and I can not wait for their books also awesome to see how Aaron and Imogen are doing , and there are characters that you will hate and not wish a Happy ever after for them . **raises hand** This girl right here does, and Fear the Beard totally delivered!
I loved this book! Tally, and Tommy are electric together, and I couldn't get enough! The story line was awesome, and the character's are just as great! After reading Beard Mode, I was hooked on this series. It truly just gets better in the second installment, and I cant wait to get my hands on Son of a Beard coming out next month!
If you love reading a good Military/MC/Forbidden book, I highly recommend picking up Fear the Beard. I am loving the Dixie Warden Rejects MC Series, and I cant wait for more books to come out! Especially Truth, and Ghost's book! (Total swoon worthy!)

I love the fact that each of LLV's books gets better. This series is just as wonderful as the previous, if not more so. The characters are engaging and fun. They are sometimes broken like us. All of it makes them more real. I'm always sad to see the book end, but happy to know I'll get to know another character soon.
A great addition to the series. I loved it. I love how they love each other. There was some ow/om drama, they caused problems, but not in the relationship. Perfect read.

This is my first book by Lani Lynn Vale and most certainly will not be my last book by her. Lani has gained a fan who cannot wait for her next book in this series.
Lani did a fantastic job at keeping her readers engaged in this story. She gave her readers a little bit of everything.
Warm your heart moments Strong Female Lead who took no one's crap Believable Characters Hot Scenes Great Storyline Story to fall in love with Hot Sexual Tension Life Struggles Heartbreak Forbidden Love Melt your heart moments Sexy Bearded Dr. with Tattoos ✔✔
Normally, I am not one for insta-love. And that is what Dr. Tomirkanivov aka Dr. Tommy had the moment his eyes met Talith's aka Tally. But when this man's sexy blue eyes locked onto hers, she was a goner. And let's just say I was as smitten right there with her. In this book, it totally worked.
Every time Dr. Tommy spoke with Tally or her little one Tallulah I melted. This man only had eyes for his girls. He spoke with conviction and sincerity always, even when he wanted to push Tally's buttons. He only did it to gain her attention.
And talk about an overprotective man. Dr. Tommy would not let anyone speak or act without the utmost respect for his girl.
Tally's life changed drastically the moment she found out she was pregnant. But she did not let that set her back from being the best mother to her daughter. I loved Tally's perseverance in all situations.
The push and pull between Tally and Dr. Tommy was spot on. You cannot help but smile for these two.
With the multiple plots unfolding at once in this story, there were a few times that I felt there were too many things going on. One twist I honestly would have liked more build up to. It was a pivotal part of the book. It was good, I just wanted that holy cow moment.
The supporting cast in this book is great. Lani has gained another fan that will be watching for the other biker’s stories to come out. The guys all had me laughing and loving them.
If you are looking for a hot biker/Doctor cover in tattoos with a beard that will leave you swooning and wanting more, this book is for you. This book is sweet, loving and will leave a smile on your face.
I cannot really grasp this series, because it is not really an average MC novel and the characters here do not fit into an expected mould. The story here was all over the place, combining many loose elements that did not quite congeal, in my opinion. It needs some weeding and/or to develop more some of those hinted aspects so that they don't become just noise around the main story. The best feature on this installment was the hero's affection for little Tallulah, that alone gained it an extra star... The flooding, the ex and his new wife, the old restraining order, the crazy friend and the supposed ethical issues did not make much sense to me (pick one of those pleeease and expand into it, insted of having them all mushed together into a confusing heap).
Another fantastic story by Lani, She nails it every single time. Is has you feeling a little of everything. Surprises popping out here and there, that great mixture of love, laughter and sweetness Lani has nailed down to a T! And obviously a little of angst to keep things interesting. No bad things to say here. Can't wait for what's next! xo
This book was such a progression and growth from book one. A lot of the pacing issues I had before felt so much better this time around and the story itself was hot, and funny and warm. It's not a 1%er type of MC book. It this time way more you did feel like it was apart of a club.
I am a huge fan of Lani Lynn Vale if you haven’t already guessed and I swear with each new book I keep having a new favorite from her and Fear The Beard is my new favorite! I devoured this one like I do all of her books and when I was done I wanted more of my favorite Dixie Warden Rejects MC bikers. Me wanting more after I finish one of her books isn’t anything new I am always impatiently waiting for the next book but before I get ahead of myself let me tell you about Fear The Beard.
Can I have Tommy aka Dr. Bones be my Dr. because holy hell he is hot! I mean he could practice mouth to mouth on me any day of the week, hell I think I may need some right now. He is also an instructor for the nursing students. Hello Dr./teacher combo! He knows what can happen to not only him but Tally as well if their relationship is ever discovered but the heart wants what the heart wants. I felt for him at times because I know he didn’t want to wait for Tally to graduate but I also understood where Tally was coming from.
Tally was almost done with nursing school, she has been working hard and being a single mother on top of it just added to the stress and length it is taking her to finish. She is sassy and I loved her! The interactions between her and Tommy had me laughing more than once as well as squirming in my seat because these two are hot together. Tally doesn’t want to screw up this close to being finished with nursing school, and she has good reason not to, but Tommy is making that resolve hard because she wants him just as much if not more than he wants her.
The drama that happens in this one was one I thought would go one way but it took a complete left turn a crazy town and had me saying well that was one I didn’t see coming. I love the bit of drama Ms. Vale adds to these books it keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Fear The Beard is another must read from Lani Lynn Vale and one that absolutely needs to be on your TBR lists right this very minute!
