Nikita Singh continues to impress with . The book serves as a perfect sequel to Like a Love Song and explores Laila's character this time. You are able to connect with the characters, there is some light humor here and there and the entire ride is an emotional one. However, we still have Cupcakes+Cookies as a significant part of both Maahi's and Laila's life which is something I really liked. It maintains a consistency. Overall, a good read especially if you liked the previous one.
Nikita did it again, a light read which turns dark right at the end. Its all cupcakes and pink and 'orange' in the start but there is some serious and taboo topics she touched. Bravo to her ability to not make love story sounds like a cliche. Hoping for more from her. Love her writing. :)
This book is what I can say is--A piece of life. A breezy-tasteful- yet important one. The one where life brings drama and adrenaline and passion all together in one episode sort of way. From the very beginning, I love the balance between all the characters, there's a passionate knows-what-to-do business woman ( which is our lead girl), the vibrant and messy girl, the everyone-loves-him guy, the modern-thinking one, the young and the ascertain one. All just go along really well with the happy and creative bakery scenario. I like the way the author has tried to include a number of aspects of life without making it much dramatic. About family, work, passion, relationships and all. There are emotional highs and lows. The passion and love for their work is consistent through out the story which I really liked. But then I think the whole point of the happy vibe bakery essence of the book is to contrast the emotional and dark past, which is portrayed with ease. It goes along well. It felt realistic. Believable. And because of that, is a light inspiration to all those who are trying to fight their inner demons, the dark person living inside them, in the most breezy way.
I really need to stop reading 📖 about such perfect male 👦 characters... It's ruining my life.
JD... He's the perfect guy in every sense 😍 But Of course He is also FICTIONAL 😥 I love him since his entry in the book. And The convos between him and Laila are so cute tbh.. 😆 I was smiling the whole time 😊
This is actually a simple light read which also covers an important topic... The book starts as rather slow for my taste but overall It was a quick read.
Everytime it rains is a sweet romantic story of Laila and JD. Laila being a entrepreneur running cupcakes + cookies shop with her close friend maahi. They plan to expand business in collaboration with Roast House a mega coffee shop. JD being the Roast House employee mere Laila for collaboration and thier love story takes off from there. Laila as her own past which tries to destroy her present. How she comes out of it is the story. Author has sequenced the events it very nicely. With Laila and JD's love story the story also moves ahead with the collaboration as well. Overall its a very good ŷ...🙂
Firstly, I just can't figure out why the author has chosen this title. Its a good title. But it does not suit the book. Also the coffee and orange. The Rain, Coffee and Orange form only a very little and insignificant part of the plot. Secondly, the book is not a good read as the plot is boring and very slow. There is no emotional attachment to any of the characters. The writing is mediocre. The only best I can point in the book is its length. Around 250 to 280 pages, so its a relatively quick read. Even at this length, the book will leave you exasperated.
The story plot was light and a good one. A yet another love story from nikita singh. It all starts bright with cupcakes and 'oranges' but as we proceed to the end it becomes dark revealing things which are considered taboo.
The story conveys that us judging others always by our past experience is not always accurate. The metrics of judgement should be varied and also carrying the past and always relating things with the past is of no use.
The addition of C+C and RH is a great thinking and i personaly loved her humours..
A beautiful journey of how Laila moves on from her bitter past by making it as her strength to open many branches of her Bakery. Her love towards baking and her friends is unconditional. Will she love a person again? JD 's character is seen to be a man whom every girl dream of. Characterisation-5/5 Plot-5/5 Narration-5/5 Title & Cover-5/5 Overall ratings-5/5
This review and my rating is solely on the basis of this book's comparison with the first and the only book (other than this one) I have read by the author. When I read the first book, I didn't like it at all. But this one was a fine, light read. A definite improvement in the storytelling and the writing could be witnessed.
The themes selected by the author were strong and the ones I totally support, but the instensity- I found it lacking. The thought behind the book was noble but when one finishes reading a book, those thoughts aren't enough to satiate one's appetite for a good-read; it's the intensity which keeps and revolves the story in reader's mind. The book was too much of a combination of good-lucks and coincidences (not that I don't believe in them,) but there was too much of them. Perhaps, the need, if there is any, to keep the book commercial made the writer do so.
Also, there were cliched sentences and dialogues too in between, which only deteriorated the book's value for me.
The usage of certain hindi words and phrases here and there gave the book an Indian touch. Storytelling was fine too. If only there were pages focusing on certain themes, pages where those themes were brought into light and talked about more profoundly, it would have helped the book a lot.
Anyhow, I ended up with a feeling that I didn't waste my time and money so that would mark this book a fine chick lit read.
🍁🍁Here's the review of one of my favourite novel written by gorgeous @singh_nikita #everytimeitrains 🥰🥰.

To appreciate the highs you need to sometimes experience the lows. That's exactly what this book was for me. I never expect too much from Indian writers anyways, and this was something like a girl meets guy chick lit so my expectations were even lower.....but what I didn't expect was a lack of flow....more than first half of the book is all about the two girls, their relations and a bit about their employees lives but then it becomes very centered on the main character.
What I fail to understand is that why in the world would all the timings go so wrong in the book....heights of coincidences.....the mother getting an invite just when the friend feels suffocated at home and then whole thing about falling in love with the one guy who can make your business go places. To top it all why could they not have been rejected for the RH deal.
I get the romance and the weird things that happen in love concept but the book is too far from reality. Facing abuse and the after effects of that I understand and think has been handled well but I just thought the author has the capability and skill to make this so much more realistic and heart touching.
I really wish her well for the next one....but then she already is a best seller and honestly, I am a bit shocked at that....either I need to lower my expectations or people need to start expecting more from Indian writers too.
Every Time It Rains by Nikita Singh is a heartfelt tale that explores the complexities of love, loss, and the power of memories. The story revolves around the protagonist, who navigates her emotional landscape while dealing with relationships that shape her life.
Nikita Singh's writing is engaging and evocative, drawing readers into the protagonist's world. The character development is commendable, as we see the protagonist grow and evolve throughout the narrative. The themes of love and heartbreak are beautifully woven into the plot, creating moments of genuine emotion that resonate with the reader.
However, while the book has its strengths, there are moments where the pacing feels a bit slow, and some plot points may come off as predictable. A tighter narrative could have elevated the overall experience.
Overall, Every Time It Rains is a touching read that captures the essence of human emotions. It’s a great choice for readers who enjoy contemporary romance, earning a solid 3 stars for its relatable characters and emotional depth.
EVERY TIME IT RAINS by Nikita Singh is one of the nicest books. usually, her stories revolve around flirtish love. until peeling the orange we never know the taste of it, the Same way Lila's character by looking out she is a successful person but Once THE DARK SECRET relieves will get to feel how she survived with this. the relation that she believed over the years went a tragedy after marriage. Yeah JD is a perfect male character only in stories it could be possible. Mahi is the best friendship character. Overall book leave you in a simply flirtish conversation and Emotional story in a POSITIVE THOUGHTS
The cover could have been better! Story - Initially, I felt like this would be another chic lit with all the dating, business and social media thingy. Her writing has that magic that despite the reader knows that story is super slow and not going anywhere, they still keep reading. What amazed me was how she touched an altogether different topic as the story moved further and character layers were shed - Revealing the subtext. I felt real emotional towards the climax and super satisfied by the ending. I have read first and third part before, and they were amazing ; but I thought this wouldn't live up to the expectations. I was wrong. She's the best! Love her writing style! ❤️
The book is like a sequel of Like a Love Song but unlike Like a Love song this book is about Laila, her passion and her struggle. I personally found both the stories quite similar but its not boring. Laila was also heartbroken and struggled in life just like Mahi did. She valued friendship and family the most. the character is very intellectual(the heroine). Laila's life is a Rollercoaster of emotion untwined. This book will definitely drive you nuts it's somewhat like a real story of every girl's life I mean it's quite relatable. The ending is not a happy one but it's definitely satisfying. the book will teach you a lot about life.

 My Ratings : 3.5/5
My Review : Story of a girl trying to get over her painful past. Laila is the main protagonist of the story who was once in love, but that left her broken. She is still grieving, still struggling but now growing stronger. Laila's story is full with passion, struggle and the fear of falling in love again. " She had survived the Strom ,and she is okay to walk in the rain but then someone taught something beyond "okay" . . Short and easy read Happy ending Recommended
The book traces the journey of Laila a baker who owns a small café, her dreams, turmoil she faces in life and how normally we all become wary of trying the same thing if we get bitten once.
Makes a great read as the author is able to exactly put in words almost all the feelings of the character. The journey is defined beautifully using the baking back drop. All the characters are justified as in parallel their stories too tumble out.
An emotional read and the take away from this one in simple words is “Be positive.
Rating:
I would rate this one 4/5 as I found it interesting.
i think this wasn't exactly a bad read. but the ending isn't satisfactory. i didn't understand the correlation between laila getting frustrated and scared that JD was gonna turn out just like abhishek to then just thinking it's all fine because all this time she was being selfish and never thought about JD and she loves him? i do agree that JD deserved a second chance and an explanation but i honestly dont understand how laila's entire perspective changed out of nowhere and that too with something that did not make sense.

The book takes you through the love and business life of Laila, Maahi and JD.
Every time it rains; takes you through journey of two friends who starts there own bakery shop : C+C and when they come in contact with RH, they encounter with JD the marketing team member from RH coffee shop chain.
And then the drastic change happens in the love life of Maahi and Laila the owners of C+C. Expected ending to be some plot twisting but disappointed. Overall, it could have been a better story.
Woah.....What a fantastic book it was!!....The author works in this book was amazing....The way she carried the story of "like a love song" with Laila story....Laila story was alot traumatic but still the way she use to represent herself to other was so strong......I really relish that at end she got to understand her mom......AND BOSS JD.....MOST CARING AND FLIRTY GUY...I HAVE SEEN....HE USED TO CHERISH HER SO MUCH FROM START AND WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR HER TILL THE ENDING ..............UNDERSTANDS HER POINT STORY......MOST FAVORITE HIS KISHORE KUMAR SONGS!!!........Also the twist the author gave after the mid of the story was alot astonishing.....Everything was perfect in this book!!......Especially when it rains!!!
"Every Time It Rains" by Nikita Singh stands out as a heartfelt Indian romance, blending relatable characters with an emotionally rich narrative.
The bond between Laila and her business partner, Mahi, is the book's strongest aspect, showcasing the nuances of friendship. Laila's trauma and vulnerability are portrayed with sensitivity, making her struggles relatable. JD's charm adds a playful yet comforting balance to Laila's guarded personality. However, their budding romance felt slightly rushed, and JD's maturity, revealed later, should have been hinted at earlier.
The story's exploration of domestic violence warrants a trigger warning but the emotions have been handled masterfully. This book is an emotional rollercoaster and is definitely one of the best Romance books by an Indian author that I have read so far.
A wonderful read after a very long time. Could relate to quite a few instances of both the characters - Laila and Maahi. I thank the author for penning this down, as it seems to have given me a reason to motivate myself and to look forward for beautiful things in life. I would definitely want to read the other books by Nikita Singh.
Have portrayed well the struggle of a girl with her own bad memories from past while finding her way for a new life with a fresh beginning. It shows you shades of life. I am rating it as a 3 star, and not 5 just because I have already read some other masterpiece by Nikita Singh, so I was expecting more. Rest, I must say it is another 'sweet' work by an promising author.
Nikita's speciality is to bring heart fluttering light romance accompanied by twist in the end. Each character has secured a place in my heart. They are so natural... Totally i'm in love with the book... If you are searching for a heart - warming story, then definitely you should give this book a try
A good warm read about love and friendship. My favourite character is Maahi and i loved the bond between her and Laila. The emotional roller coaster of Laila reveals that no matter what a person achieves in life, its not easy to untwine the emotional tangles. This book teaches to love again...
This is a good read about love and friendship. This book is an emotional roller coaster that shows us that no matter what you achieve in life it is not easy to solve your emotional tangles. Laila is the main character who fights with her past. One of the best Nikita Singh books. Checkout this article i found online about best Nikita Singh Books.
The start of this one was so slow. Until JD was introduced near the 80ish page, I was getting bored a little tbh. But once he entered, I was absolutely immersed in the book!
Giving it 4 stars because I could relate to Laila a lot. She was a little dumb at times, but I felt seen in those scenes.
Beautiful chemistry between the main pair. And maahi is amaizing!
