Suzie Foster is “under consideration� with a dominant by the name of Charles but after a particularly scary moment in a BDSM club, she’s quickly blocking him from her life. At least online. Enter brothers, Simon and Alistair, and suddenly things are looking up for all those pleasurable reasons.
There’s a lot going on in the story. Scarlett Flame does a good job setting up the story and the transition to suspense when Suzie is kidnapped juxtaposed against her much more idealized time with Simon and Alistair, works well.
So, we have a decent amount of kink (yay), a ménage with two very yummy looking brothers (double yay), a bit of darkness (oh), and a happily ever after (more like for now). That said, this story really didn’t work for me and I wish it did because it has all the components I enjoy in stories like this. For one, and this may only be me, I couldn’t engage in the story emotionally. For me, the content around the BDSM was too instructional instead of letting it flow more naturally. This is one of those stories where I found it far too telling and not enough showing, as it read more like diary entries. Several times while reading the story, I grew impatient and wanted to skip ahead but forced myself to keep reading hoping that I would better immerse myself in the story or at the very least, develop more of an emotional attachment to the characters. However, that never happened. Given how instructional many of the components of kink were, that created a certain lack of believability at Simon’s earnest desire to have Suzie move in over the holiday break. The dichotomy didn’t balance particularly since I didn’t find the insta-attraction to be obvious.
Overall, I found the story okay. It’s definitely not on any list of read again. That said, I can’t emphasize enough that this is how I feel. The components of the story are there but it simply didn’t resonate with me and the ending happened too fast leaving me wondering if there’s supposed to be more.

I so loved this book. I truly believe this is going to be a great series.
I loved Suzie’s character. Here she was seeking something she craved. She truly wanted a 24/7 Dom and Sub relationship. Problem was she had a bad chose in Doms. Let me tell you Charles is a nightmare.
Simon was this sexy Dom. He was Suzie’s rescuer or savior however you wanted to look at it. I would of thought meeting at a BDSM club were others were around would be safe, but not the case for Suzie. There is no telling what would of happened if Simon was not there.
I loved the chemistry between Suzie and Simon then to bring Simon’s brother Alistair in the mix, wow truly hot. It was like the chemistry intensified.
I love how caring and understanding Simon and Alistair were. They knew Suzie was nervous and had been through a bad ordeal. They made her feel loved, safe, and carried for. They showed that being a Dom was more then BDSM play and I think the author done a great job bring that out.
Suzie will find herself in some serious danger and this is were the story becomes more of a dark romance. She will have to find her inward strength to get through what happens. Your heart will truly break for her. I can not imagine the fear she felt. She will also have to rely on her friend, family, and the two men she just started to get to know to help her. Can Simon and Alistair get to her in time?
I loved Simon, Alistair, and Suzie’s story. I truly hope this is not the last we hear of these three. I feel their story has only just started. I am not certain where the author will go in this series but I hope she continues with Simon, Alistair, and Suzie’s story.

Five Fabulous Stars! This book is a dark book and contains triggers so be warned before reading this book. Suzie truly wanted to be in a 24/7 Dominate and Submissive relationship. Her first relationship was with Charles and he was truly a nightmare. Susie was rescued by Simon and soon she realized that they had amazing chemistry. Simon's brother Alistair soon joined their relationship and the chemistry intensified. Simon and Alistair both were very caring and understanding Dom's and took great time to show Suzie how this relationship should truly be like. Suzie will then find herself in some serious danger and will have to find inner strength to make it through the situation. Will Simon and Alistair get to Suzie in time to rescue her? I thoroughly enjoyed this story and was hooked from the first pages. The author did an amazing job with writing this story that I could not put it down. Simon, Alistair, and Suzie had amazing chemistry and I felt all their emotions as I read through the book. This is the first book in the Captive's Series and I cannot wait to read the next book! I highly recommend this book!

Review: Captive is about a young woman, Suzie, who goes from a vicious Dom to an idyllic situation with a new Dom and then back again. The back again to the vicious Dom, is not by her choosing (hence the title: From Willing Sub to Enslaved Captive.
The first part of the book is super sexy, hot, and panty melting. I am being a bit vague because I don't want to give any spoilers. With that said - Scarlette Flame writes a sexy book! Then the story turns not so sexy - but cruel with torture. One of the things I struggled with when categorizing the book was how to classify Suzi's relationship with the vicious Dom. It is not consensual as he holds her against her will and gets off on giving her pain. There is no pleasure for her. I am not classifying it as rape as there is no penetration, but there are definite sex acts that are not consensual.
I liked the book. I liked it was different than the bad Dom gets into a scuffle with the new Dom, but it is really just a pissing match. Flame gets into what happens when things go really wrong in a BDSM relationship. I appreciate the author didn't gloss over the ramifications of what happens to Suzi and that this happened despite some of Suzi's safety precautions.

Pretty Good Story
The ending was rather abrupt.
The text contained many errors that should have been caught by a good proofreader.
The story itself was pretty good. I enjoyed the concept and the scenes with the brothers. I don’t think I’d read it again, though.

A pleasurable story that kept my attention. Love Suzie’s character. She knows what she is looking for in a dom and the chemistry she has with Simon and Alistair is sizzling. Throw in the danger element of her previous Dom into the mix and boom - you got yourself a thrilling read.

This book falls somewhat out of line in what I normally read however the author has impressed me with her ability to capture a reader in the emotions of her characters. This book does have triggers - it will make the reader a little uncomfortable as you quickly engage in the situation Suzie has found herself in while under consideration. She is hopeful for a loving relationship and realizes the man she is currently with isn’t the one to give it to her. We are hopeful when Simon assists her in breaking away from the situation quickly. We get a glimpse of her HEA during her time in Simons care..
I like that the author represents Suzie as a strong woman who knows what she wants and isn’t willing to sacrifice her own mental and physical health to achieve it. I don’t want to give anything away but will say the second half of this book is brutal and pulled me under; Susie’s fight to overcome what seems like the worst possible fate is well written and makes you cringe with fear for her well being. I am giving this book five stars as it is creative, emotional, and takes the reader through to some deep dark lows, yet maintains the need to know whats going to happen next. I will be keeping an eye out for a continuance if this story.

I was excited to be asked to read this book as I thought it would maybe show me a different side to the world of BDSM that i've not read before and I liked the story well enough as i've given it 4 stars but this for me was more of a dark read as it leans more toward that genre as at the heart of it, it has elements of torture and enslavement. The structure of the story is good and at first it seems that it is going to be a normal Sub/Dom BDSM relationship story as it mentions plenty of phrases and playthings used in this kind of lifestyle but I felt that the sex scenes let the story down a little, as for me it became nothing more than a menage setup between Suzie, Simon and Alistair with very little Sub/Dom action playing out between them.
I felt that the parts that were played by Charles's character very well written throughout and had me gripping onto the edge of my seat, it made the story a very dark and angsty read which I totally loved. This is my first book to have read by this author and would definitely read another of their books in the future.

Only two stars I'm afraid
I try not to give a bad review because I can't write but I'm sorry I found this story too superficial. At the first page I felt like I had landed right in the middle of a story. Everything happened too fast. The characters had no depth and I couldn't tell you one thing about any of them. S is no spring chicken she says, how old is she? I couldn't even relate to her ordeal. Story could've been longer and characters developed

This book is a Dark, BDSM read, and
defferatliy a page turner, not for the faint hearted. The characters are loveable, and believable.
Suzie is a sub and relatively new to the lifestyle, but now she wants out of the relationship she has with this Dom. Things take a turn when she is helped. After getting away she finally has her life back. Things soon take another turn, this book deffo keeps you on your toes.

A bit disappointed
Not sure what to say in the review for this one. I personally felt the ending was rushed. Would have liked to read more for the ending but that is my opinion. I felt like I was left hanging when the book ended like there was going to be more then no that is the end. But again this is my opinion and I am sure other may disagree.

Written so well. Great book a lot more gritty than expected. I couldn’t put this book down! Really enjoyed the way Scarlett writes, a nice bit of humour as well as great emotional content. Highly recommend.
